I’m not sure if I’ve said this one already or not, but I wanted to tell you anyways! It’s about the humans-are-not-hylians AU!

You know the uncanny valley evolution? That thing where when you look at something that resembles a living being too closely and some part of your mind is screaming that it’s not whatever it looks like and to get away from it? Imagine that with the reader! They can spot shapeshifters easily because of this, but it instills the same extreme primal fear we’d experience, so it might be hard for the reader to confront them at first and they’ll instead just tell the Chain for a while.

This might be a double edged sword, though, because when Twilight is in his wolf form, the reader still gets that same feeling when “Wolfie” is looking at them, whether or not they know it’s Twilight. In this case, the first time the reader spots Wolfie approaching the camp, they probably freak out and try to avoid him, even if the Links are okay with him or if he seems familiar to them.

The bottom line is that wolf isn’t a wolf, so what is he?

“It’s okay, he’s a really friendly wolf!”

tbh they all got at least a little better at being able to tell the difference the longer they heard you point out stuff/talk abt exactly why it was off-putting

(that said some of ur heroes are better at it than others, both in general, and certain aspects of it: like Twilight isn’t able to pick up illusions/glamours for the life of him, literally, sometimes, but he is more likely to figure out shapeshifters by scent after you Guided him)

(no, your heart didnt crack a little after learning that the boys had a harder time with deceit after you stopped playing the game = “were forced to leave after their adventure” bc while they were better at detecting it, they werent on ur human level yet..)

(…the only deception you ever really fell for was Koholint. It was so painful too, because Legend quietly disclosed to you one late night that you would constantly get strange feelings/uncanny disturbances, but were never able to put a name to it for him, which both made you jumpy/paranoid on the island, but made him regret ever letting his guard down all the more or feel guilty for what felt like dismissing ur instincts the more he relaxed… Legend never doubted your sense for the uncanny ever again. He takes it seriously every time now.

When you feel as if you should apologize, he tells u not to, that these days he takes comfort in it actually, it makes him feel safer. Legend looks to your face for confirmation that something isn’t a dream, and if you look at ease, so is he.)

or how Time’s face wrinkles like smile lines/crows feet at the corner of his eyes will randomly appear and disappear, how he’ll have some stubble one day then 3 days later despite having not shaven (u literally saw him wake up and do his morning routine) it’ll disappear like it was never there in the first place-

and when Twi has stopped asking you abt the others as they all reel over the knowledge of what all u can tell abt them,

As someone who is genderfae (microlabel under genderfluid), I have a lot of different experiences with gender.

Nightmare Moon

It's kind of a headcanon of mine that Lunas coat doesn't actually turn fully black but instead just darker with a velvety/satin kinda twist to it, so only the lightest parts show her natural blue. Really gives the 'lost in shadows' vibe.

This one has murdered both the paper and my wrist. So I really hope you enjoy the result haha

If Sheva was the girl who ventured into the woods , armed with only a basket of bread and a cape the colour of her blood, then Jill was the wolf along the less-trodden road , the being of fur and teeth at the end of it .

When the other had told her of her favourite story , neither had expected it to become their reality . Neither of them had expected to take on the characters themselves , and neither could have fathomed something like this .

It had already been a good few months since they had found out , come to terms with it - they had found their own ways to help each other . They both had changed in one way or another - Jill was a prime example of that .

Canines like knives , sharp and so glaringly different from the rest of her teeth , back molars shifted into something that could rend flesh from bone easier than anything else . Her eyes seemed to bare a much wilder sense to it - if someone had looked closely these past few weeks , they might have noticed it shift to something that resembled an actual wolf's - not quite , but it was uncanny . She seemed to carry herself with an unnatural awareness , Jill's senses were far sharper than they were supposed to be , and it had taken weeks for her to slowly acclimitaze to noticing every small thing that would have otherwise not bothered her in the slightest . Those were even without mentioning the things that happened when the light left the earth , when she had barely begun to try and see if she could turn it into something she could do voluntarily . She still feared it , but was slowly beginning to try and see it as something that wasn't inherently a curse .

Jill's teeth made themselves evident in her soft smile , a light amused breath escaping her at Sheva's words . She recognized the words from the book of fairytales the other agent had left on her desk a while ago , and knew that was likely the source.

afaik, the current arkanis theory goes as such:

The Araldo of the Valigma we currently know may in fact be Jota from another world who somehow managed to cross into this world after having his Arkanya taken away by Bia and possibly caused the death of our Jota's parents so he wouldn't want to use Arkanya anymore, which in turn would prevent Bia from sealing his ability to use Arkanya altogether and opening up the possibility for him to once again use it in the future, which coincides with the training we've seen him have lately.

Bagi's Hugo is an alternate Hugo, presumably from a destroyed timeline/world who is trying to stop what happened before from happening again. (could also hint to a potential time loop)

This could mean the essys (mysterious arkanya mineral) may in fact be some kind of matter that fuels dimensional travel??

Also helpful to note that after dropping this theory the sky turned green and araldo's factory appeared above the lake, ironically being pointed at directly by the statue of Prefeito Jota, go figure.

i've been having brain worms about mahiru's relationship so i've been rewatching i love you to piece together day sixteen. this feels like a reach but i think a fight might've broken out between them.

first, mahiru boyfriend's house, birdcage, and carousel are all the same location─we know this because each one has the same couch, throw pillows, and table formation.

on day sixteen, mahiru excitedly prepares her boyfriend's favorite meals as a surprise for him. later, when milgram extracts mahiru's mind, we see a table with shattered silverware. then, mahiru fantasizes about her boyfriend coming back to life so they can share food together (notably, only mahiru is fed because when mahiru tries feeding her boyfriend it goes awry.)

though i don't believe her boyfriend was ever physical and broke the dishes, it's possible that he suffered from an eating disorder and responded badly to mahiru's attempts to convince him to eat. this is the reason mahiru's murder is portrayed as feeding him rats that she percieved as a gift to save him from starvation.

we also know that they've fought multiple times from mahiru's t1 song. specifically. theres this very moment in the second teaser where mahiru's screams at her boyfriend, telling him (paraphrased) "don't say you love me if you don't mean it."

which is insane because mahiru is a very forgiving person! she can turn a cheek to someone trying to kill her, laugh off those who trick her, call her stupid to her face, and says she's happy to fight with her boyfriend—lovingly referring to it as their break-up ritual—but saying you love her without any weight behind it? that's what sends mahiru right over the edge.

i think it's possible that mahiru's boyfriend reacted poorly to mahiru's "gift," and tried to console her by saying he loved her which made mahiru's upset, which then escalated into their final fight.

like i imagine susie would cut & peel him apple slices, pack him lunch with all his favorite foods, provide him spare change in case of an emergency, celebrate his successes no matter the size, excessively worry about whether he's wearing enough/had enough sleep/eating well, or provide him guidance if he's struggling with something --generally things that are similar to how a parent would care for their child (this is from the perspective of someone from an east asian cultural context where some of these actions that appear odd are very conventional ways of displaying affection from parents)

it's cute & she does these things because she can see a lot of herself in bandana dee (the girlfailure) & wants him to have the opportunity for, if not a normal, then at least a happy & safe(r) childhood unlike the one she got

god forbid she watch him fight some newly arisen ancient godly entity with kirby the third time today.
