You woke up and checked the time, it was early. You groaned and tried to fall asleep but couldn't, you tossed and turned for hours. You finally got up, grumbling a bit, you didn't want to he awake. You stretched and felt a sharp pain in your back. You clenched your teeth and put a hand on your back.

"Ouch"

You groaned and went to the bathroom, your shirt got caught in the door.

"Great.."

You hissed through your teeth and pulled your shirt from the door nob, stumbling back a bit. You let out a loud sigh and turned to the sink. You picked up your toothbrush and tried to squeeze out some toothpaste on it, but it was empty. You cursed at your past self for forgetting to buy more and set your toothbrush down. You sighed loudly, walking out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. You looked in your fridge, grabbing something to eat and tried to make yourself breakfast but burnt it. You were getting really pissed off.

"Globdammit.."

You grumbled and threw the pan into the sink. You sighed and thought about how you could preoccupy your mind. You wanted to do something that would make you less angry.

You walked to your room and got dressed quickly, you decided on taking a walk.

Maybe the fresh air would help?

You walked outside your house and just kept going. You walked to a nearby forest, looking down at the ground and kicked a rock. You sighed loudly, walking wasn't helping your mood. you grabbed your phone that was in your pocket.

Mabye hanging out with someone would help?You started to go down your contact list on your phone.

"Finn? No he's probably busy helping someone.. Marcy? No she might be on a date.. that rules PB out too"

You mumbled to yourself and sighed as you got to your last contact. It was simon. You shook your head.

"no.. I.. I don't want to bother him..

You mumbled quietly, he was your boyfriend but you still worried about bugging him.

You pushed your phone back in your pocket accidentally calling simon

"Hello?"

He answered, you didn't hear him or notice that you accidentally called him.

"Today's the worst!"

He let out a chuckle, he was also having a pretty bad day.

"Yeah, do you need me to come over?"

You huffed, you weren't really paying attention to your surroundings and stepped into a hole. Your foot got stuck and you fell forward, your ankle snapped.

You cried in pain and looked down at your foot.

"Shit! Shit! fuck that hurts!"

"What's wrong?! Are you alright?"

Simon was almost yelling into his phone but you didn't hear him, you were in too much pain to actually listen to things around you.

You gently pulled your foot out the hole and moved your leg closer to you.

"Oh shit! Oh fuck!"

You started to freak out when you relized you couldn't move your foot.

"Y/N?! Answer me! Please!"

He pleaded with you, hoping you'd answer soon. He didn't know what was going on or why you wouldn't answer and that made him even more concerned.

You could hear something coming from your pocket and grabbed your phone. you almost dropped it when you read the name on the phone. You put your phone to your head.

"H-Hello Simon.. I.. I'm sorry.. I.. I called you by accident.."

You clenched your teeth as you spoke, the pain was unbearable and it made it hard to speak.

You moved the phone away from your face and tried to move to a nearby tree, you didn't want to be out in the open with an injury this bad. You started to sob as you crawled to the tree, holding the phone in your hand still.

Simon could hear you struggling and crying.

"Tell me where you are!"

He said, gripping his phone tightly.

You put the phone back to your face when you got to the tree, you leaned against it so you could rest.

"I.. I don't know..."

You whimpered an wiped your tears away, letting out a sigh. You didn't want him to try and find you, you didn't want him to see you like this, you didn't want him to see you so pathetic.

"I... I'll figure it out.. I.. I'm going to hang up.."

"W-WAIT!'

Simon yelled through the phone, he was starting to get even more worried about you.

"Tell me where you are and I'll come help.."

You could hear movement from his side of the phone. You let out a sigh and looked down at your leg.

"I'm fine.. I.. I don't want you to se-"

You cut yourself off with a loud groan. The pain was getting worse.

Simon called your name a couple of times and you tried to shift your attention to his voice, mabye the pain would ease up if you focused on something else

"Tell me where you are!"

"I-In the forest n-near my house.. but that's... that's all I know.."

Your voice was slightly shakey from the pain.

"I'll.. I'll figure it out.. d-don't worry.."

You said trying to comfort him. You knew your situation was bad and you didn't know how to fix it but you still didn't want him to see you like this.

"I'm coming to get you.. alright?"

His voice was firm and he wasn't taking no for an answer, he was going to get you and that was that.

You were in to much pain to argue with him, you smiled weakly and let out a soft sigh.

He really cared for you, didn't he?

You looked at your leg, blood stained the bottom of you pants

"S..Simon.. d-do you think you're strong enough to.. to pick me up?"

You chuckled slightly, realizing that you couldn't walk.

"I could try.. Are you hurt that badly?"

Simon said, he sounded like he was running.

"...yes.."

You let out a sigh and looked up, trying to push the tears back.

"I'll try to be there as soon as possible, alright?"

He tried to sound calm, trying to comfort you.

You sat up and lifted your pant leg, you knew if you didn't stop the bleeding soon, you might pass out or die.

You covered your mouth when you saw the damage, a bone was sticking out of your leg. You started to sob loudly.

"Oh fuck.. fuck, it's.. it's really bad.. it oh fuck..."

You whimpered between sobs and started to hyperventilate.

"I'm coming alright, j-just try to stay calm"

Simon's voice sounded more frantic. You squeezed the phone in your hand and leaned back on the tree.

"Simon, please! please help me! It hurts, Glob it hurts!"

You cried into the phone, you couldn't help it anymore, you were so scared and in a lot of pain.

"I'm coming, I'm going to help.. I'm near the forest now, alright? Is there anything significant near you?"

".. I..I'm under a tree!"

That as all you could manage to say as you cried harder.

"That doesn't narrow it down.."

He mumbled and continued to run, he started to hear crying as he ran into the forest, he started to move towards the sound.

He stopped in front of you, he looked so worried. He quickly ran towards and kelt down over you. You saw him and smiled weakly at him as tears fell down your face.

"Simon.."

You said weakly.

He looked at you leg, he saw your bone sticking out of your body, his eyes widened and he put his hands on your cheeks. His hands were shaking.

"Why didn't you tell me you were hurt this badly?"

"I..

You tried to say something but you couldn't manage to say anything. Simon stood up, he grabbed your phone and put it in his pocket before grabbing your arms and putting them around his neck, he picked you up gently, trying not to hurt your leg any more.

You gripped at the fabric of his shirt and put you head on his shoulder. Even though he was being careful, it hurt, it hurt worse than when you were sitting.

"it hurts, simon, it hurts.."

Your words were almost unintelligible as you cried harder. You kept repeating yourself and you held onto him tighter.

"I know...I know.."

He said in a soothing voice, trying to calm you down a little.

He rush you to the candy kingdom hospital and on the way there you passed out.

The staff grabbed a bed and simon gently set you down. They took you to a room and told simon to wait. He called marceline and started to break down when she answered.

"M-Marcy.. can you please come to the candy kingdom hospital.. I.. I found Y/N badly injured.. I.. I'm worried.."

Marceline rushed over quickly, and got there in a few seconds and rushed over to simon. He was hyperventilating and he had his hands on his head, gripping at his hair. Marceline hugged him tightly and he quickly put his arms around her, she could feel his body trembling.

"I-It was only by chance that I helped them.. they accidentally called me.. What if-"

His voice broke as tears fell from his face, Marceline pulled back from the hug, looking him in the eyes

"They're going to be ok.. we have the best doctors here.."

She said trying to calm Simon down. Simon nodded and took his glasses off, wiping his face from tears. They waited in the waiting room, Marceline was holding Simon's hand as they waited. She tried to comfort him and chat with him as they waited.

Doctor princess walked out, telling them that you were fine, but you would need to be put in a cast for a while, she told them that they could see you and that you were awake. Simon sighed in relief, they got up and walked to your room, Simon was almost running. He opened the door quickly and you looked at him, he rushed over and gave you a tight hug, you blushed slightly. Marceline stayed outside, she wanted to let you two have your moment.

"H-Hey Simon..

He quickly sat up and put his hands on your cheeks.

"Are you alright? Are you in any pain?"

"No.. not anymore"

He sighed in relief and rested his head on your chest.

"Don't you ever do that again.."

"What? Fall? I don't think i can promise you that.."

You let out a laugh, trying to cheer him up with a joke. He raised his head up and sighed.

"No.. N-Not that, don't tell me you'll figure it out.. If you get injured, call me.. call SOMEONE! What were you going to do if you didn't accidentally call me?"

He got closer to your face. You looked away, you didn't know how to answer his question.

"I..I.. I don't know.."

You finally said,

Simon let out a tired sigh and put his head back on your chest.

"Don't be so reckless.."

You put your hand on his head, you gently ran your fingers in his soft hair.

"I.. I'll try.."

You said with a smile, he lifted his head and looked at you.

"Good.."

You both looked in each other's eyes, he slowly moved his head closer to yours and you shared a kiss. He moved away slightly and started into your eyes.

"Simon.."

You grabbed his cheek and smiled at him.

"Thank you for saving me.."

He put his arms around you. He was so glad that you were actually ok, he couldn't help but kiss you again.

I spent the bulk of the day catching up with season 8 of Adventure Time and was reminded of how good this show can be when it’s not on hiatus for weeks at a time.

Modern Cartoon LGBT Representation Rant

As modern cartoon shows are trying desperately to represent LGBT and be part of the community, however, most of them failed to do it well. So many problems that writers and the fandom are doing wrong to show it and look I know they're trying their best and see that but there aren’t doing it well. So these what I’ve been seeing for three years and why they don’t work

Long Rant 

1) Minimizing the Gay

Most cartoons represent gay characters by showing them less and not making them into an actual character is one of the many problems have with LGBT representation in cartoons. Having them to appear only once and then that’s it which is so BS and doesn’t even count.

For example, most gay characters are shown in the background like Star vs The Forces of Evil - “Just Friends” showed two characters from the same gender kissing, however, it’s impossible to notice it because there some straight characters kissing as well

Then they two male characters with a child in the holiday special and season 2 finale. Many people may see it as LGBT rep but some people will see it as brothers or friends.

Then there are cartoons that show a gay character for only ONE episode and it’s irritating. Such as in Steven Universe, Mystery Girl first appeared in “Last One to Beach City” and then that’s it, we don’t see her again. We don’t anything about her and don’t see her dating Pearl in recent season

Also in 6teen episode called “Role Reversal” Nikki friend , Jean is a lesbian and she admits it to her and she’s dating someone else. However like Steven Universe, she only appeared once than that’s it but at least they confirmed that she’s gay.

The reasons why they're created because the fans can be excited that their gay characters on the shows. Why can’t they just make them an actual character then just leaving them in the dark? A good example of showing gay characters is Tweek and Craig from South Park

They don’t kiss, be stereotypical gay like being fabulous or doing makeup, their just your normal elementary school boys. In the episode “Tweek x Craig” at first they didn’t want to be in a relationship because they didn’t think they're gay and the more they push it back, the more realistic that they're in a relationship.

They even made Craig’s dad in denial that’s he’s gay but he cares more for his son happiness than his grudge

They got back together. Instead of being a one-off thing like South Park intent to do most of the time, they kept it and they're shown on screen together as a couple. Calling each cute nicknames like babe or honey, hold hands and support each other.

So how the hell is Tweek x Craig represent well than most cartoon shows? I know this show is made for adults but this is well done than most I’ve seen. Cartoons should focus on fleshing out the character then just show their gay. That brings me to...

2) Seconday Characters

Somewhat similar to first point however it’s the supporting cast and this is a lot worst because they appeare in episode and show that their gay but won’t give any hints that they are like a kiss or a hug.

An example of this is in The Loud House, Clyde parents are both males but the show doesn’t say that their gay. To be honest, I don’t see them as parents but as friends like Raven Home

Another example to this is Clarence, where Jeff parents are both female but again, we don’t see that if their lesbians by there’s no hints that they are or not

It’s getting dumb that they say their gay but they wont show it like come on, if you want an LGBT character than present it. Stop telling us if they are and show the audience by they hug, it’s not that hard.

3) Effects on the Story 

Another problem I’m seeing is its impact on the story. I really don’t if romance comes to the plot but it has to work because if it doesn’t then it’s just being shown out of context and doesn’t do much with the story. Unfortunately, most cartoon shows fail to do that and it forced

An example of this is they made Korra and Asami a couple at the end of the Legend of Korra. The writer did it on the last couple minute so they won’t potential backlash and they even have to announce that their bisexual couple

Then we have to buy the graphic novel to see more of them as a couple without proper hints and development between the two. You’ll probably be thinking that they did hint that they love each other but really most of the scenes of them together were FRIENDSHIP, not romance. 

Then there’s Steven Universe. Every time that there are Ruby and Sapphire episodes, it doesn’t fit the main narrative of the story. It just feels out of place to the plot than anything else For example, in the episode “The Answer”, Garnet tells a story of Ruby and Sapphire met but the does it relate to the Cluster arc?! Nothing, that’s what it is so they can push LGBT rep

And the whole wedding between Ruby and Sapphire in “The Heart of the Crystal” bomb which by the way is also a waste of time for plot. The wedding was nice but again, how does it relate to the Pink Diamond arc?!

The only that doesn’t feel out of place is Adventure Time. When they add LGBT to Adventure Time, it doesn’t feel force like look at the Marceline and Princess Bubblegum relationship. We can see it develop from being neutral to lovers 

It works for so many reasons such as they’ve been friends for 100+ years but PB work got in the way, leaving them to depart and never talk to each other since until Varmints where they finally talked about it and start hanging out more.

Also the many hints they might love each other like PB sniffing Marcy shirt

I can write more about why Bubbline is an amazing ship but you can read it here. It may have been a slow one but I rather have a good romance than a force that doesn’t take time away from the plot.

4) LGBT Propaganda 

Whenever creators announce that they’ll be LGBT in their show, I find it as their desperate for views, for example, the Dragon Prince announce that they’ll be LGBT rep in the show 

Really? Your telling people that there will be LGBT in the show? 

Then there’s Voltron where the writers were hyping Shiro x Adam to be gay but they killed him off like are you kidding me? You’ve been hyping Adam ever since SDDC and then he died, what a waste.

Conclusion

Look, while I don’t mind cartoon shows showing LGBT rep and I support it, however, the way they’re doing it is poorly done and I wish they could’ve done it better than minimize and force LGBT. Modern cartoons could’ve made it simple like a hetero love story or it doesn’t have to be romance, it could be just a character that’s just gay. I hope that in the future that writers could make it better.

Summary: A rainy day in with PB and Marcy. Science gets interrupted and gross adorable gay fluff ensues

Part of the fanfic free-for-all

Princess Bubblegum wasn’t much of a singer. In fact, she mused as she idly stirred the solution in front of her, she always thought she was a little bit tone-deaf. But she liked to sing, and Marcy told her she wasn’t bad at it. Who am I to disagree? She’s the professional, PB thought with a smile. So they would usually sing together, cute little duets that Marcy would come up with on the spot. Usually it was about love, but sometimes PB would make up songs about physics or biochemistry in order to remember important facts. Marcy said it was the sign of a “cute brain.”

But when PB was alone, she hardly had time to devote to improv. So she sang lyrics that Marcy already had written: lyrics she often sang to her when they were alone on rainy days. The castle was always warmer when it was filled with Marcy’s music. Sometimes PB imagined all of Oo could hear her beautiful voice.

“What kind of dad eats his daughter’s fries—”

“That’s my least favorite song, y’know.”

She screamed and nearly dropped the beaker in her hand. “Oh my glob! Wh—” She turned her head and found Marcy floating over by the door upside-down, her head tilted backward so she could survey the room. She was smiling.

“Did I scare you?”

“No,” PB lied, her brow furrowed. Marcy actually laughed and approached her, dropping down gracefully onto the polished linoleum of the laboratory floor. She draped her arms around her princess, her cold hands eventually resting on her stomach.

“Aw, I’m sorry for scaring you, Bonnie,” she lied back, letting out a little lilting chuckle. PB felt hot breath by her neck and she pulled away.

“Not now Marcy, I’m really busy.” She pushed her glasses up onto the bridge of her nose. Marcy frowned.

“C’mon, can’t you drop all that for one minute and come hang out with me? We could go to Squeezy Mart, or we can sing or—”

“It’s all gross outside, though. I don’t wanna go out there. How about this?” PB put the beaker down and turned off the Bunsen burner. “I’ll finish up here, and then we can go sit up in my room or something. Take a nap maybe.”

Marcy yawned. “Yeah, that sounds kinda nice actually. I’ll leave you to it, Peebs.” She drifted up off the floor and headed upstairs. PB smiled, a little pink blush swirling on her cheeks, and she cleaned up the last of her materials. She climbed up the endless high staircase to her bedroom, where, sure enough, Marcelline was curled up on her bed. Her eyes were already closed, and her breathing was steady. PB smiled.

“Hey, you.”

Marcy smiled back, her eyes still shut. “Mmmmhey. You comin’ to bed or are you just gonna stand there?”

PB rolled her eyes and changed into a tee shirt and shorts. “Shut up.” She climbed gracefully into bed and pulled the covers up over the two of them. Marcy opened her eyes and poked her on the cheek.

“Hey!”

“Sorry, Peebs, couldn’t help it. You have a pretty cool face.”

PB laughed and pulled Marcy close to her. The rain fell in steady sheets outside, and the two laid there for a moment to listen.

“It’s pretty to listen to, isn’t it?” Marcy asked after a few minutes.

“Not as pretty as your voice,” PB replied sleepily.

“You’re so gross.” Marcy kissed the princess on the forehead and snuggled closer. They fell asleep to the rain.

Top 5 Shipping Moments of 2011

Onwards and upwards: 2011, which I know beset as the year of Adele’s 21. Here are my picks for the top 5 shipping moments:

#5. CLARK AND LOIS GET MARRIED

Smallville sure made us wait for Clois, but once they got there it was well worth it. After years and years of teasing their inevitable get-together, the series finale featured the Clark/Lois wedding for this generation. They’d been through countess supervillains, hell dimensions, near deaths and un-deaths, and awful forced romances that lasted too long, but in the end they had each other. 

#4. KYLE AND CARTMAN’S SMILE

In the final scene of one of the best TV episodes to ever air, South Park’s “You’re Getting Old”, Kyman shippers got the moment they never thought they’d have: a friendly smile shared between the arch enemies as they left us on a cliffhanger. This is my personal favorite episode of the show, and it caused a real stir among fans at the time - fans who feared it could be the end of South Park all together. For Kyman shippers, it gave them a brief moment of the duo actually getting along, being good friends, working together on a project. Fun stuff, for the first time, and it wouldn’t be the last.

#3. BUBBLINE IS CREATED VIA “WHAT WAS MISSING” 

I don’t know for sure, but I’d imagine most Adventure Time fans probably weren’t shipping Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen until this episode aired. All of a sudden, they have a past, Marcy sings about how ‘I shouldn’t have to be the one who makes up with you/so why do I want to?” and PB goes to great lengths to retrieve her most valued possession - a shirt Marcy gave her. Is it any wonder that after this episode Bubbline became Adventure Time’s biggest ship? It definitely won me over. 

#2. X-MEN FIRST CLASS TURNS XAVIER/MAGNETO INTO A PHENOMENON

Sure, Xavier/Magneto was around before First Class, but being entirely focused on their bromance and breakup, and starring James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, turned Cherik into the most popular X-Men pairing. Kudos. to the filmmakers; the whole thing plays like a classic tragic bromance. Add to that the fact that the X-Men films were always kind of ‘it’s all a metaphor for insert-your-own-prejudice-here”, + Xavier’s constant rejection of Mystique, and it’s very easy to read the film in that way. And many people did. 

#1. ANDY AND APRIL GET MARRIED

Season 3 of Parks and Rec not only gave us the beginnings of Leslie/Ben, but it also got the will they/won’t they business all done and over with for April and Andy, and unexpectedly hooked them up in the TV wedding of the decade - an impromptu party thrown as a surprise. Yes, that’s my favorite for TV weddings this decade (I mean, for ones that didn’t end in a mass murder.) But with so many sitcoms out there that drag out the ‘will they or won’t they’ mess for years and years, Parks and Rec should be applauded for basically saying ‘nuts to that’.
