#this story is so far very fun#the main eschatological belief in the narrows (the undercity) is that after you die you’re reincarnated as a skyfish and then after you#fish die you’re reincarnated again as a human#the main eschatological belief of the upper city is that the dead become stars#my favourite part of this bit of worldbuilding is that the skyfish are literally only for this (space)ship#other ships in the (unnamed) alliance have birds and regular normal fish but for some reason this one doesnt#i also have to clarify that the story’s about a heist crew#i just like the skyfish a bunch#skyfish#con rambles
