Would you give up your humanity for just a touch of sanity? Cause god knows it's not like its cancer!
And good news to the purists, theyve discovered a cure for the symptoms of being alive!
It's a painless procedure with a low rate of failure, but very few patients survive~
And a little conformity never hurt nobody, but lately I've been worried that you're losing yourself.
So how many milligrams of you are still left in there?
Woah, cause back in my day we didn't need no feel-good pills and no psyciatrists- No, we just bled out in the bath, and god dammit we liked it!

hi welcome to my new blog
this is a side blog of @fae-tier-shit
I’m gonna try to post Will wood content every day, hopefully I have enough Will wood in my head for this nonsense.
there will (hopefully) be a menagerie of content, ranging from my art, to reblogs, to random ramblings, however it’ll be mostly lyrics. I plan on writing an essay about will wood so I might also post snippets of that, and the whole thing when it’s complete
please be patient with me, if I miss a day im sorry.
I’ve noticed that I tend to be a bit sassier on this blog, nothing I say is ever truly mean, it’s all /lh/silly, but lmk if I ever cross a line! :33
A few facts about me: my favorite album is the normal album marsha thankk you for the dialects but I need you to leave makes me cry my favorite song is probably either black box warrior or suburbia overture however that is subject to change. The first Will Wood song I ever listened to was I/Me/Myself which I found scrolling thru YouTube looking for new music. after finding that, a close friend got me super into the rest of his music I plan to write a story abt characters that r inspired by The Main Character. I also once wrote a parody of the main character but tbh it’s not that good sometimes I refer to Will Wood as “Bill Tree”
I’ll try to tags things based on what they are. Ex. #WW Art or #WW Lyrics, and for lyrics I’ll clarify the song and album too. all posts will be tagged with #daily dose of Will Wood. If im listening to a Will Wood song when writing a post/tags I’ll also put that in the tags.
For my DNI read the pinned post on my main blog, and PLEASE keep things will wood related. Idrc if ur reblogging a bunch and goofing off w a friend, as long as ur goofing off abt Will Wood
Feel free to send asks with requests/recommendations for a post :3
Yes I do keep editing this as I have more to say, this is my first side blog so I’m still figuring out what I want to do.

𝐌𝐘 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐖𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐋𝐘𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐆
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝟏: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐔𝐌
A/N: I've been hyperfixating on Will Wood so bad rn as you can probably guess. also, can I please get some of whatever this guy is on cause his lyrics actually make me transcend to another plane of existence.
( part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4 )
1. Suburbia Overture
Home is where the heart is, you ain't homeless but your heartless
2. 2econd 2ight 2eer
If sick is defined by what's different, well then pull out the plug and let my die
3. Laplace's angel
The only ones in need of love are those who dont receive enough, so evil ones should get a little more
4. I / Me / Myself
Say my name like a slur but I've been called worse
5. ...well better than the alternative
Stranger things than death can happen to lab rat girls and pretty white rabbits
6. Outliers and Hyppocrates
Cause I doubt that you would even if you could change, you think it makes you special but it makes you strange
7. BlackBoxWarrior - OKULTRA
Whay, you think ideas spread because they're good? No, they spread because people like them
8. Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, but I Need You to Leave
You could sing a pretty malady like a black canary but a crow don't know the smell of carbon monoxide
9. Love, Me Normally
So to God who made this man, you better have one hell of a plan
10. Memento Mori: the most important thing in the world
One day you'll look back at the life that you led, no more future left to fear that you'll have the past to regret
Thanks for reading! My messages are always open!

Hello im. Sorry to bother you but I see you on my dash as "the will wood person"(well also the tf2 person and the wof person but that doesn't pertain to this) and was thinking about listening to his stuff but idk where to start do you got any recommendations?
Yippee!! I managed to be so Demented about William Woodard that it made me the "Will Wood person" to somebody :))) That's so silly
Okay, so recommendations. It's...really quite difficult to recommend stuff from Will because a lot of his music is quite varied and it kinda just depends on what music you've already listened to. If you've gone down the Jack Stauber, Tally Hall, or Lemon Demon path, chances are you're going to be somewhat on board with his music.
Will Wood is an experimental music artist who never exactly sticks to one sound. He said he doesn't quite like it. Self-Ish, his second album, he considers a concept album due to the fact that it's mostly grungy and rough vocals with frantic and wild instrumentals all with lyrics spouting stuff relating to a singular theme. However, if you ask me there are some things about him that stick out as being "Will Wood".
Piano. A lot of his songs have piano. In some places, what other songs would have as a guitar riff, is a piano bit. Piano (along with the baritone ukulele and also occasionally glockenspiel) is his main instrument.
Jazzy instruments. Saxophones, trumpets, all that. In his latest main album, In Case I Make It, Will forgos that sort of jazzy tunes a lot in favour of more calm and folk songs, but they still linger.
Tons and tons of lyrics. Will's lyricism is one of the main draws of his music to me. He often writes about his own experiences with his mental health and struggles in his songs. Themes of mental illness, being loved despite being human, and generally just being a person trying to get through this messy, cold world.
Yeah that's about goes for the constants.
Okay, so, depending on your music taste, I don't know how to quite recommend stuff. His newer album, In Case I Make It, is a lot more folksy and softer than his previous work. It still has that Will Wood flare, but just with less loud screaming matches between Will and an alto sax. His earliest albums (Everything is a Lot and Self-Ish) are more edgy and dark with those grungy and gravely vocals. The Normal Album is a middle ground.
I personally believe the best way to experience Will Wood is to listen to the albums, but for individual songs? Here's some ordered from softer to more intense.
Skeleton Appreciation Day (Bones), Everything is a Lot
When Somebody Needs You [Song], Camp Here & There
That's Enough, Let's Get You Home., In Case I Make It
White Noise, In Case I Make It
Venetian Blind Man, Camp Here & There
...well, better than the alternative, The Normal Album
Falling Up, In Case I Make It
Against the Kitchen Floor, In Case I Make It
The Main Character, In Case I Make It
Memento Mori, The Normal Album
Laplace's Angel (Hurt People? Hurt People!), The Normal Album
I/Me/Myself, The Normal Album
Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialects, but I Need You To Leave, The Normal Album
BlackBoxWarrior - OKULTRA, The Normal Album
Suburbia Overture, The Normal Album
The Song With Five Names, Self-Ish
Mr. Capgras, Self-Ish
6up 5oh Cop-Out (Pro/Con), Everything is a Lot
Dr. Sunshine is Dead, Self-Ish
Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In!, Self-Ish
Aaannnddd if we're giving song recommendations, I also highly, HIGHLY recommend checking out his live stuff. Not just his live albums (those are fantastic though), but live performances recorded of him. They range from in-studio and professionally done recordings to somebody with a phone. I love them.
Here are some performances I recommended for one reason or another.
The entire BBQ show, as it shows off Will's character a lot as well as being fairly charming and fun (also good music)
Marsha Live in the Studio
Mr. Capgras (this one's I think something he did with patreon people)
Mr. Capgras/White Knuckle Jerk (WFMU radio)
Yeah that's about everything off the top of my head. See ya.

I got tagged by @h3adph0nez for this song game!! Thank you!!
POST 10 SONGS THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD LISTEN TO FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN, AND SHARE
First and foremost: the song I've listened to the absolute most this year, the song I most closely and cathartically associate with my old religion and the stuff I've learned about it since leaving- Suburbia Overture!!
When I was a little kid I was taught that you'll always be with your family if you get to heaven- but to me that meant didn't mean immediate family, that meant my entire ancestral line, and if they're all gonna be with their entire family too, then heaven MUST be some sort of massive suburbia. When I first listened to this song I needed to sit and think for a little bit, then I proceeded to replay it for... ever. I think I've listened to it multiple times a day since then.
NEXT SONG and there won't be so much backstory for the rest of these lol
Gender and gender expression exploration vibes, I like listening to the demo version too :) there might be a lot of Will Wood on this list
Found it during my emo phase in freshman year of highschool, listened to it again recently for the first time in a while and I almost cried AGAIN. Not gonna put it on this list but I can't listen to MCR's The Light Behind Your Eyes because it makes me feel an unhealthy amount of Grief. Honorable mention though.
Such a pretty song. So full of longing to pause time and stay in a moment forever
Goofy and uplifting and comforting :) 'I'm not behind I'm at my own pace' type of feeling
2 NSP songs!! This one is just goofy and fun to sing but damn you Danny Sexbang for having a voice range that goes higher than mine
Without the plot context it's a very sweet and sad song that encapsulates the love I feel for my little sister (who is on her Mission now) and the struggle I have voicing that love and being open with her. Multiple times we'd be singing show tunes in the car while I'm driving and I have to skip this one or I'll start crying
Fucking ow. This song makes me think of my roommate and their loss of their mother but how do you give someone a song like this. How do you tell them "I cried for your grief" One specific line of lyrics was the last words they heard from their mother.
Love a song that I can alter to match my vocal range PERFECTLY. It's been on repeat in my brain for the last week
Will Wood rounding out the end of it, this song was on repeat as I was driving to my ADHD test because I was so anxious if this would be the one that I get diagnosed in. It was!! Also just really fun to sing and within my voice range (thank you Will Wood for almost perfectly matching my voice range)
Here is where I'll tag a few people, no pressure to participate at all! Descriptions are also not necessary I just have a lot of Feelings and Thoughts about the stuff I listen to lol
@pacificroses, @nepheloid, @chaotic-murder-gremlin, @gohavefun, @knittypicky,
#I also did this because I'm procrastinating studying :D#warning this list gets a little sad but it's also a little silly#and there's so much Will Wood in it and I'll be honest I thought about adding more#the entire Normal Album has me by the heartstrings#'Love Me Normally' is the song I was singing in the shower when my roommate came home from work early the other day#that could have gone on here#Spotify

Might be starting a new series of posts for me, who knows, but here's a lyric a day where i shout out song lyrics and tell you why they're cool
"How many milligrams of you are still left in there?"
-Marsha, Thankk You For The Dialectics, But I Need You To Leave by Will Wood [Spotify]
The way the song wants you to listen to it is as you take more antidepressants and medications, you're losing parts of you that make you, well, you.
The way I view it is as you wear a mask for parts of your life, and don't live authentically, how will you know where the fake version of you ends and where you actually begin? who are you if not yourself, but who are you if you aren't yourself?
from the same song:
"you draw a line in the sand where it ends and you begin, but the tide rolls in so who knows?"

Hi again! Still not a request for mini-prompts lol, but more songs. This time it’s specifically about Julian :)
I was listening to Will Wood while working on some art, and I didn’t realize how many songs remind me of him! I found some new favorites, so I thought I’d share them. Excuse the titles on these, some of them are really long ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ || CW for mentions of alcoholism, pills, sickness, death, and angst!!!
- Suburbia Overture / Greetings from Mary Bell Township! (Vampire) Culture / Love Me, Normally
The instrumental is so jaunty and jazzy that he’s the first character I thought of. The lyrics, not so much, but It’ll do. Will Wood has a pretty versatile voice, so I think it fits Julian!
- Love Me, Normally
The instrumental also fits that jazzy, dramatic vibe of his- and this time, the lyrics do too. These are ones that stuck out to me:
“Won't follow my dreams/ No, they've all got me waking up screaming / I drank myself to death to be the afterlife of the party/ When the afterparty came, I was rolling in my grave”
- Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, but I Need You to Leave
This one makes me think about how it must have felt being locked in the dungeons during the plague. Valdemar mentioned in Julian’s route that he was a jokester (even though they have the worst sense of humor) who tried to keep the mood high as a way to cope with the situation. If anyone told me he didn’t lose a bit (a LOT) of himself down there I’d probably just laugh, because that was literally traumatic. These are the lyrics i’d quote to envision that:
“Cause back in my day we didn't need no feel-good pills and no psychiatrists / No, we just drank ourselves to death, and god damn it, we liked it”
“Who makes the call? What's a symptom, what's a flaw? / Can it be both? Well I suppose that's an answer / Would you give up your humanity for just a touch of sanity / Cause God knows it's not like it's cancer”
“And a little conformity never hurt nobody / But lately I've been worried that you're losing yourself / So how many milligrams of you are still left in there/ Cause back in my day we didn't need no feel-good pills and no psychiatrists”
- Laplace’s Angel (Hurt People? Hurt People!)
This makes me think about his anxiety and depression concerning his supposed murder of Count Lucio. He’s made it clear that he really believes he’s guilty, awful, filthy and however else you would describe a murderer. He took the “truth” of his past and made it his identity.
“Have you ever died in a nightmare / Woke up surprised you hadn't earned your fate /Could you take a look at me / Am I bad, am I bad, am I bad, am I really that bad?”
“It doesn't take a killer to murder / It only takes a reason to kill / We've all got evidence of innocence, it's 'everything's coincidence' the / Difference twixt fate and free will is whether you're singing”
“So if you wash your hands of where you've been until you flood the second floor /Neatly fold your skeletons but still can't shut the closet door”
- Euthanasia
I can’t lie, this one made me cry a little bit. He definitely took the blame for MC catching the plague and dying from it under his watch. I started to feel second hand guilt. He knew there was nothing he could do to help us once we got really sick, and it hurt so bad. People say he would have a sort of sassy voice (picture Tulio from Road to El Dorado), and I agree! But imagining him singing this song just breaks me.
“Say you're not scared / That you know it's because I cared and / Say you know I love you, and that hope was just not there”
“And I know, I know that I'm wrong / That when you're gone, you're gone / And I can't bring you home/ But I want, I want to believe / That you'll remember me / When you're just memory”
“And every, everybody dies / Fighting for their lives / Just trying to survive / Well, now I know, I know why we say / That there's a better place /That waits beyond the grave”
That’s all I’ve got for now, and I’d like to hear other opinions on these songs too! This is just my personal analysis, and obviously I really love Julian enough to spend 2 hours doing this. I hope you like these as much as I do ^_^ Thanks for all you do, Brainrot!
@vegaspng you are not alone in thinking Will Wood songs fit Julian at all, I can't count the amount of songs that have been recommended for him by that artist and at this point it's halfway canon in my head XD
Thanks for breaking them down lyrics wise too! It's so cool to listen to songs the way other people do and share that common experience ^.^
I'm putting these on the playlist and the tag, thank you friend! :D

got tagged by @memberoflottiescult to do the 5 songs i've been listening to recently thing...... i'll try to make them have variety..
Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, But I Need You to Leave by Will Wood. i really love the lyrics in this one, i mean, honestly in all ww songs in general. i could just put 5 of his songs here, i literally love all of them so much. the line "...a little identity never hurt nobody, but lately you've been focusing too much on yourself..." makes me giggle
Canary in a Coal Mine by The Crane Wives. i've been trying to get used to a bigger amount of their songs for some time now, because i really like the vibe of them and their melodies are always so whimsical. love the instruments in this one
Better Place by *NSYNC. YES the one from trolls, it's so fucking good you don't understand. the version from the movie particularly, it's deadass angelic
Danse macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns. (it's because of the arcana obviously) i promised variety
Becoming the Lastnames by Will Wood. there's only so much variety my taste can have though. i love the lyrics in this one SO MUCH, my favorite line is "babe, my frontal lobe's done growing, this might just be how i'm wired"........ his voice at that part is so amazing too, i love that guy
i always listen to the same small collection of songs for a year more or less and then i very gradually move on to some others so if i were to do this thing half a year later, half of them would probably be the same. thank you user memberoflottiescult for the tag, unfortunately i'm to scared to tag anyone!! but if you're perhaps my mutual and you see this feel free to join

5 and 11 from the music ask game?
Thank you for the ask I always love talking about songs!!!
Music Asks
5: A song that needs to be played LOUD
The funny thing is that I mostly play all my music at a reasonable or slightly low volume. I don’t really play music loudly. That being said there is def some songs that are great when played loudly (sorry parents) (also yeah I’m listing 3 songs sue me):
Mama - My Chemical Romance
So you can fully appreciate the gunshots and the first line of the song!!!!
X - System of a Down
^^ me when I don’t want to use blending layers in my art lmao (I very much like screaming along with the chorus)
Chemical Overreaction / Compound Fracture - Will Wood
This is peak song okay. Do I even have to explain. I love singing along to the last part it’s literally my favorite verse of all time!!!
11: A song that you never get tired of
Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, but I Need You to Leave - Will Wood
This always hits right. Sometimes it’s impossible to not cry to this song. Honestly this is prolly the song from The Normal Album that I listen to most consistently cuz it is Very.
Sirens - Bear Ghost
Okay technically I haven’t been listening to this one for a long time but this song is literally so good. The tunes are rocking and the lyrics my god,,,, I love them so much I seriously need to make a character based off this
Evil Food Eater Conchita - Mothy
THIS IS THE SONG THAT STARTED EVERYTHING,,,, I owe everything to this song. Cannibalism and Banica Conchita my beloveds. I have based two OCs off this song it’s so great. You must listen to it.
#kira talks#I can always be insane about music#this is basically me outing myself as having mental illness

♫ creation trio plus arceus!
OH BOY OH BOY where do I begin umm,
Well Palkia is pretty easy actually. It's Pathological Facade! in particular the lyrics:
A year ago I was told that I would be a miracle, something theoretical I guess./ Go on, praise me like a God/So flip a coin, let's rejoin our family in the mirror world, where everyone is crooked by design
Dialga is Ruler of Everything, more specifically the Chonny Jash Cover ,as for the lyrics:
WELL, LISTEN TO THIS! HE SHOT AND HE MISSED! AND SO JUNO (or in this case, Giratina) GOT WHAT HE DESERVED! IMPRISONMENT IS ALL THAT HE EARNED!/ I'm the ruler of everything, in the end.../ You practice your mannerisms into the wall/ I've been living a lie, a metamorphical scheme!
Giratina is.. surprisingly harder? Only because so many songs fit it. if I had to pin down just a few, Chop Suey, no doubt. But Catabolic Seed also fits, and its the one I shall pull lyrics from.
Oh, what's a devil to do?/ It seems that the good times never last/ I'm safe, I'm whole, I got it under control/ I don't care that i'm losing myself, in the garden of earthly delights/ If drop dead where I stand, I wouldn't mind.
And finally Arceus my favorite horse (derogatory and affectionate) it's Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, but I Need You to Leave
And a little identity never hurt nobody, But lately you've been focusing too much on yourself/Cause back in my day we didn't need no feel-good pills and no psychiatrists. No, we just drank ourselves to death, and god damn it, we liked it/And good news to the purists: they've discovered a cure for the symptoms of being alive/You're not your thoughts, you're not your brain. You're just the character you've made. Up in your head, down in your heart, what seem like separate body parts come together to believe they're you, and not just chemistry.
Also I eternally associate this video with Giratina
#giratina#dialga#arceus#palkia#WOO YEAH! THE ENTIRE FAMILY!!!!#i imagine that Dialga likes recounting history to people so That's what the first lyric is referring to.#long post#da askies
