Here are six+ songs that i've been loving and living daily trying my best not to let it seep into a permanent state of ennui. Some songs that make my heart move more than others or just otherwise songs that are extremely special to me emotionally. 1. Just posted lyrics to a song by this artist. Im linking it below. and it really makes me so sad and melancholic but also just makes me feel so excited. It's the right mix. I'll add another one i'm thinking of right after this one

2. This one is just plain wonderful. it brings back this intense wistful joy it smells like fresh laundy on a rainy day. An intense feeling of belonging. A love for the life that surrounded me. a really crazy headrush joy that reminds me of surfing Satellite tv for the first time in my life. Satellites and satellite dishes became extrenely important to me. Something about being able to escape and enter an unknown parallel world. Moving somewhere not knowing when it'll stop and not caring. At least visually during this era (2020) satellites were like a source of comfort for me, like being hooked up to a big wired world that i could manipulate through my little terminal

3. This song just feels like a lovesick midnight. In almost point black-blue darkness w/ visual snow clouding your entire surroundings. Just sitting there gleeful and enjoying the present. Something that nobody can take you out of during that moment

4. Well this song is just plain wistful to me. A lot of what the music i listen to depends on is the emotional and mental context during which i experienced it. sure music can suggest something to me but mainly it's the feelings i felt during that specific moment that resurface when i hear the music i hear. New things can be good as well as bad. The context can be shifted completely and reformatted and reframed. this one specifically i listened to a lot while running outside. It reminds me of feelings of inadequacy and futility. Nothing good but also nothing too bad. I love this song a lot though. Mark's vocals shine through here

5. Another song from around 2021. This is just perfection in a song. it makes me feel Freaking Cool... i love the dissonances when the keys go too far up around midway through the song. This whole album realy is just filled with song after song of just the most relaxing beautiful improvisational stuff ever listen to it you will not be let down. The opening track is also gorgeous

6. The only r stevie moore song i can really lidten to all the way through. i'm not a hater or anything it's just the only one that has fossilized itself into my consciousness. It's extremely meaningful to me. The chords are beautiful and so sweet. Stevie moore is the bomb... Incredible guitar work. i would love to learn it on the guitar when i get my new strings. Strongest memory from this song is riding around outside on my bike in the rainy thick foggy cloudy hot humid weather and falling multiple times and not really caring that much

7. This song is, i think, The Best Shit Brian Wilson Ever Came Up With, maybe toe to toe with I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, i dont really have much to say about this song the arrengements and the lyrics are beautiful. Brian's vocals are one of a kind and his falsetto is amazing here. The solemn piano part is just gorgeous. Surf's up hmm hmmm hm hmmm hm hmmmmm...

WEEED WEED ITS WEED) he released Ska Dream, which, of course, is a complete reworking of No Dream but to be Ska instead. the original title of this song is Old Crap which they still sing in the song i just love how they put SKA into the title. all of them are like this btw.

Two-By-Four-And-A-Half - Thee Goblins: as i said before ive been narding it up recently with some nardwuar interviews. my favorite thing about him is his elusiveness as like. a guy who does things besides being nardwuar. and my favorite story about him doing other things is that on his quest to interviewing kurt cobain, he tried talking to dave grohl and somehow dave recognized nardwuar from a band he's in (this band Thee Goblins :3). but the band wears masks when they perform so u cant see its nardwuar. and he still knew it was him without the mask and i guess felt enough respect for nardwuar in that moment to decide to get him an in with kurt, which did come to fruition BTW. anyway this song is a SKA SONG by NARDWUAR himself.... this isn't on the yt playlist unfortch but there is a good video of the nardman himself and others as thee goblins.

also YEAH the way you described the vocals…. the early everything everything albums play a lot with like. roughness and scratchiness and the kind of ‘animalistic’ register of the human voice. (honestly everything before raw data feel. this is literally because the singer just decided to learn how to sing in high registers without falsetto for the first time which is like cool but also AUGH i miss that old sound

OK SO the thing about this bit

absolutely YES the thing about get to heaven is that it’s literally just like. a complete album of bangers. going down through their other stuff is gonna be a little more rocky, you might enjoy the like once-per-album weird slow ballads you might not, even though i’m lazy about listening to some of their weaker stuff when i do go through the entire albums i still find a lot of quirks in the instrumentation or lyrics that manage to impress me. i’d recommend delving into either man alive or arc next those are basically on par with gth although a bit more weird and morose? if you’re feeling it id then recommend raw data feel which oscillates more around pop/new wave but still has some really interesting musical constructions, gets extremely electronic and synthy…. a fever dream is like a 50/50 split between really long slow songs which are just Fine and really fast heavy bangers. just go listen to notln, can’t do, desire, good shot, run the numbers and ivory tower LOL. uhhhh reanimator is arguably their weakest album probably the most unremarkable but it’s also like my second favorite right after get to heaven. it’s weird and glowy and flimsier than their other tunes. that enchants me i guess…. they’ve also got an upcoming album that once again seems to be more pop oriented, cold reactor is the best of the singles they’ve released for it yet. what else. there’s like a youtube playlist out there of demo/outtakes/non album stuff that you can find real easy, there’s some really good stuff in there. personal favorites are the come alive diana demo, even the dogs and dna dump

ok so the fucking thing about the “lore” of this album. there technically isn’t any and most of ee’s albums are a per-song thing usually revolving around like. modern social commentary. the genius pages for most of their songs have like. direct songwriting annotations by the band and explain the thought process behind them. however for gth there’s also like a small layer of overarching lore about this one guy called thomas silhouette as a character. he’s not so much the crux of any narrative or presence as much as he’s just like. funny anagram arising from a lyric in fortune 500 that gets alluded to in later albums because he’s loosely representative of a lot of themes that get tackled in ee songs like capitalism and dread and shit like that

Bilingual: It Always Comes as a Surprise (ok I listen to other songs from bilingual more often but if in my brain I think over what one I think just perfectly does what it needs to do, it's this one.)

Release: Home and Dry (I will defend all of release btw. but I like how this song is both sweet and heartbreaking at the same time)

Fundamental: Minimal (idk I just think it does what it set out to do perfectly but I also really like Luna Park with its metaphors and imagery as well)

Yes: King of Rome (it's got everything: historical inspiration, neil singing in falsetto, sad yearning ballad... my fav psb stuff)

Format: Hit and Miss (v tough decision because this comp has a lot of good ones 🧍‍♀️)

Elysium: Memory of the Future (I like neil's literary influence songs it can't be helped)

Electric: Love is a Bourgeois Construct (the reason it's my fav from this album is because I think this exemplifies them so much and it's just great. no one else but neil would write these lyrics and no one else but chris would do this to the music)

Super: The Pop Kids (a bop. a banger. the medley from the super tour of this going into In the Night 😭😭😭😭)

Hotspot: Will-o-the-wisp (my favorite song they've done in recent times I think because omg... the analog synths sound, the lyrics being so overtly queer, them underlying the track with a recording they did of the ambience of riding the u-bahn, and then the fade out into YATO... But shoutout to Burning the Heather which i love so much too ugh)

He blocks every attempt Marvin makes to initiate any physical contact, just keeps pushing him away

St. Lucia: bright dance pop, synths, 80s vibes

with max, its a beautiful piano ballad!! they sing together!!!!!??!?!!??!!?!**!*!*!*! max has fun with singing, adds little adlibs and vibratos, and uses his falsetto voice a lot, and you can see gus smiling at him when he sings.

Don eladio is like the most tacky dancy despacito-y music you can think of. and he has a terrible voice. and i imagine like in s4 when gus brings jesse to mexico, he gives him earplugs. there is a small silence before he speaks where every character on gus' side puts on earplugs right before his number

jesse doesnt get it at first but as soon as he hears his voice he fumbles to quickly put them on because now it makes sense

Don hector sings acapella during important moments, and at most has a classical guitar accompanying him, but its very minimal. his voice should be powerful and broad and deep, and he doesnt embellish his voice much, no vibrato, no runs, just pure clear voice, like gus.

after he's paralyzed, while there is no singing the guitar accurately conveys what he feels or wants to say

jesse i feel like doesnt go to classical music, but rather his hip hop/rap song is always the same, with one element of the instrumental being taken away after each loss he lives through, until the end where its just accapella, and he gives up on singing (or rapping) nd leaves the stage in the middle of a lyric anyway. i feel like that would happen when he dreams about the woodworking shop thing in s6. he'd start talking about it, and just stop in his tracks. after he leaves the stage, we're left in the dark, and you hear todd's voice calling him from afar.

btw for Walter classical music is pretty diverse, so i'd say it starts off with just a clavecin in his humble beginnings, and the more heisenberg he acts, the more romantic and epic his soundtrack gets? i also feel like at the end of his number jesse would say like "what the fuck was that? you got like opera training or smt?" and walt would just rant for a while and jesse leaves to avoid him but walt follows "where do you think you're going. i'm not done! i dont want to hear you misclassify music ever! if you received a proper education you would know that-"

badger, combo and pete would try to rap or rock and they'd never be in sync, or one of them would forget the lyrics, one of them would be out of rythm and get called out, etc. and then they start arguing and just. stop playing until their voices fade and jesse's part starts or they go back to normal dialogue.

also. RANDOM ONE LINERS. jesse is like on the verge of tears talking about jane and one them just says church out of the blue. it doesnt happen often enough to ruin every dramatic moment, but it sometimes does lighten the mood.

breaking bad/better call saul musical solo genres/sounds

this is a joke im taking seriously, i cant explain it any better than that. im vehemently against breakingbadmusical but HYPOTHETICALLY, this is what i would do if i was writing it. i would give each character a different genre for their motif. each character in the shows is doing their own thing, and ends up clashing with another character, hence literally every bit of conflict ever. it would make sense if you had different genres for different characters, the conflict would also reflect in the music itself.

walter: i keep coming back to classical music. at first its humble, but it can become pretentious and annoying SO quickly.

jesse: he's walter's foil, so it would make sense to make it early 2000's hip hop/rap but it has no knowledge whatsoever of the roots of the genre. it would be cool if it transitioned from hip hop/rap to something a like classical, like walter, except it actually sounds good and its very euphonous and stuff. yknow what im getting at?

skyler: hannah montana type beat. that's all i gotta say i think it says enough. also like Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite.

hank: heavy metal, but with the depth of a crime show that's been running for 17 seasons and does not give two shits about the realism of how the police and/or forensics world works.

marie: Getting Married Today from Company. All of her music is at LEAST 150bpm and would perfectly echo the mind of a high-strung, concerned nurse who's working in a very rich medical facility.

saul: new york in the 50s jazz style. really big and really loud. he's the bitch who gets the tap number and its at least ten minutes long. the clarinet is at the heart of it all though, because there has to be something to represent jimmy, but its buried under layers and layers of flashy meaningless noise

kim: leaning more towards the musical theatre genre than anyone else. very instrumental, i think the saxophone might really fit her, i think it would be cool if the music reflected her emotions more than she did herself, because kim doesnt really wear her heart on her sleeve, so you have to consult the music to gain more insight.

howard: jazz too, but its MUCH more refined and smoother than saul. like the really complicated music theory-y jazz that you hear in bars and restaurants at like 11pm on a saturday night.

mike: ok ok ok. hear me out. but i think if you had like. a lone flute, it would work. like i know it doesnt initially fit, but i feel like it does, because at the center, mike is just upset about everything, he longs for the past, i think, and i think if you wrote something in like the mid-range of the flute, or if you used a bass flute, it would sound really good.

lalo: ok so like saul and mike, lalo puts up a front. i think that front sounds like really loud miriachi music (think al compas de mi caballo). but the center is something brassy, and personally i'd lean towards trombone. trombone can go very low, sound very intimidating, but they can also go pretty high, and sound noble and kind of adventurous.

gus: ahh ok so gus is kind of this god who has a LOT of power. his center is max. so if max isnt there, there wouldn't be a center. i think gus would have like a full ass orchestra. heavy on the bass to reinforce that he's powerful. i think he'd have almost a movie soundtrack genre. if that makes sense. here's the catch. there's very little flute, no piccolo. max is the piccolo.

nacho: guitar. lot of fingerpicking. nacho doesnt get any of the band instruments because he's not really on either side? he kind of just got wrapped up in the mess and now he can't really get out. probably a lot of high notes because he's continuously yearning for a world he can't really get. also its kind of got that humbleness his family background has.

I just listened to the No Shame song and oh my, it is really bad. I was not expecting the new single to be kind of... cringey. I played it multiple times but it isn't good. I'm now really worried for the new album. What if I don't like that either? I loved the Youngblood album, that's the reason I'm a fan but I don't know I'm not feeling the new single. What do you all think. I live in Australia btw.

Red: I don’t hate it but I also don’t love it. I definitely like it more than I like Easier, but I’m still not a fan of the auto tune. I’ve said a thousand times and I’ll say it again, they don’t need auto tune. They are an amazing live band and adding auto tune makes some notes impossible for Luke to reach at live shows. His voice is phenomenal, but Ashton for example has a different pitch and IIRC his falsetto can go quite a bit higher. So why not have Ashton do the high notes of you want them at that pitch? Even Teeth, which I love has notes in the chorus that Luke can’t quite hit live. Rant aside, this song reminds a little bit of their older music, but I also don’t love that the lyrics can be hard to understand. I think this song will grow on me, but I’m just not sure.

Blue: I think the song has promise. I definitely don’t prefer it to any songs from YB and I’m having the same issue as Red when it comes to the auto tune. I can’t understand what Luke is saying when his voice is so heavily manipulated, so that’s my main issue at the moment. However, Easier and Teeth are pretty good and I enjoy them a lot, so the album isn’t a lost cause with No Shame being not what was expected. I know Red Desert is a fan favorite right now and I’m sure once we hear the album in full it’ll make more sense and hopefully please more fans. I just hope the auto tune is minimal for the remainder of the singles/album.

Owner: Personally, it's not bad but I find myself feeling a little indifferent to it at the moment, but it might grow on me more with time. My initial impression was that it sounded familiar, a bit closer to some of their older music, but with a more mature edge to it. I definitely think the song could have done without the auto-tune altogether and it would've likely turned out phenomenal, but I also don't necessarily hate the auto-tune either. It actually feels a lot more balanced to me than anything off of Youngblood, and certainly moreso than songs like "Easier" or "Teeth."

I say thoughts like this won't be completely positive

Also totally incoherent, you've been warned

The main cast were all on, no understudies

The show was honestly just really amazing

Eva's voice is just incredible

Orpheus is so awkward!! But really endearing and there was so much chemistry between him and Eurydice that developed over just two songs

Eurydice is a really interesting and clearly very layered character, who seems to be very cynical but really likes and is drawn to Orpheus's enthusiastic positivity and optimism

Hermes narrating the story was just really fun in the first act and it's easy to tell why André won the Tony

Amber as Persephone was just outstanding

Livin' it up on top was really fun!!! You almost forget it's a tragedy

All I've ever known is a really pretty song, and theres just so much chemistry between them its heartbreaking

Like if you weren't already emotionally invested in Orpheus and Eurydice's love you are now

Then it's Way Down Hadestown which is one is of the best songs

Orpheus continues to work on his song to bring the world, especially the seasons, back into alignment

Next song ft. Hades and Persephone's relationship issues and Eurydice trying to find food and continue to have faith in Orpheus, while Orpheus keeps trying to write his song

Which also causes relationship issues btw

Patrick Page's voice....... yes

Also I havent mentioned the fates yet, but they were (like everything in this show) insanely amazing

Like even despite the fact that they're working against the characters you love, they are still really awesome and entertaining

So that's my long winded way of saying When the Chips Are Down, as well as the end if Gone, I'm Gone was just incredible

And then you have Wait for Me, which probably got the loudest applause of the whole show

And rightfully so, it was outstanding, Reeve is so talented

Also the set expanded, lights everywhere, it was magnificent

Hearing Reeve's falsetto notes contrasting with Patrick's true base voice in the show in person just gives me emotions and I literally can't go more into detail than that

Honestly, everyone in the main cast has such a unique voice that really gives another aspect to their character it's really cool

Back on track, Why We Build The Wall was very powerful and an interesting way to end the first act

Eurydice shows up during the song, signs papers, and the act ends

Real quick: The lightning design?? Was incredible?? Throughout the entire production??? Like holy shit???

And the circle thing that goes up and down in center stage that I don't know the name of, forgive me, was a really neat way to show moving between the two worlds

So act two starts and Persephone gets her solo number which is fun, Amber Gray is an icon

Now it's Way Down Hadestown Reprise and Eurydice realizes she messed up big time

Her acting is spectacular

Flowers. Just Flowers

Eva is an incredible actress and just killed it

Like it was my favorite song before but holy shit!!!!!

I have nothing really to add just!!!! It was heartbreakingly gorgeous

And fortunately Orpheus is there pretty quick which is good

He tries to get her to leave with him but she can't which is an unfortunate turn of events

Orpheus gets beat up and the Fates sing Nothing Changes which was beautiful but quite sad tbh

Orpheus slowly gets the workers to start questioning stuff and standing up for themselves in If It's True which is a really good song

But it's bad news for Hades

Hades and Persephone song a song together and pretty much every moment the two of them have together for the rest of the show gives me emotions

Persephone tries to get through to Hades and fails and I just wanna die I love them so much

Next Chant Reprise (I was kinda sad that they cut Persephone's verse tbh)

But the added workers lyrics are really cool and honestly make up for it

Also the choreography and blocking stood out to me as just really good??

I mean the choreo/blocking for the entire show is incredible but it was just something else right then idk why

Orpheus starts singing his song with the old melody which freaks Hades out but Persephone convinces him to let Orpheus finish

Also Hermes repeatedly encouraging Orpheus throughout the show was really sweet honestly

It seems like the first part of Epic III was a really old song (and also different that the nytw version) but the second part seems to just be Orpheus talking directly to Hades (and is a lot more familiar)

It actually gets through to Hades and Persephone is like a mix of surprised and relieved and thrilled, and again, emotions

But the song does just as Orpheus said it would and it brought the seasons back and the world into sync

Hades and Persephone dance and ~emotions~

Have I mentioned I love them cuz HOLY SHIT

Eurydice and Orpheus sing Promises and it's so clear that Eurydice has so much faith in Orpheus as well as in Hades letting them go and ahhhh

They ask to leave and Hades says I don't know which prompts Word to the Wise

With the advice from the Fates, Hades decides to let them go as long as they pass the trial

He seems almost sad about it tho, like there's an added layer of emotions to His Kiss The Riot that it didn't have for me just listening to the soundtrack

Wait For Me reprise was just really good

Eva's belt is perfection

Again, Hermes and Orpheus's relationship is just really cute but also hurts me at the end

Hermes tells Orpheus the news and also that it isn't a trick

The staging for Doubt Comes In was fucking killer

The song repeatedly gave me chills

It was all dark with a few lights and you could just feel everything Orpheus was feeling

You know the rest, Orpheus almost makes it to the end, the staircase lit up signifying that, and at the last moment he looks back

"Its you" "..........It's me"

Eurydice descends back into hadestown via circle platform thingy

Orpheus tries to reach her at the last second but is too late

Road to Hell reprise and Hermes is narrating

It's revealed to be like a loop cuz they're singing it again and again

Which is really fucking depressing like hooray they're doomed to fail for eternity that's fun I didn't need my heart anyway

All sarcasm aside it's a really powerful ending

Bows happen and then Persephone sings Raise a Cup which is honestly a really cool moment like the audience is still standing up and it's honestly the perfect way to end the show

Final thoughts: the show just really feels perfected. Ig that's the benefit of it having been in the works for over a decade, but everything, even the smallest thing, just seems like the best it could possibly be which is really magnificent and it's really something to have been able to experience it

My first impresssions of An Ode ♡

HIT This was already a fave of mine for sure but hearing it on the album feels different.. better. total hype song, makes me want to go back to streetdancing. FUcking good. LOVE it. Also worlds greatest fanchant.

Lie Again The intro is literally so dreamy and then with jihoons voice,, stunning! And the low slow rap parts this is all so well made! I love how soft it is especially with the vocals. The dont wanna cry lyrics from vernon??!! SUper cool! Made me cry?? Wonwoo and Seokmin in the bridge... oh my.... Did I already I was crying?

Fear SHOCKED that it goes like this. There is nothing like this out there. The intro contrasting with shua's part right after. so good!! They sound so sexy!! I might be biased but Chan's part is my favourite together with the brigde and the chorus and like literally every other line it is so good. JUN. WOW. Seokboo harmonising in falsetto?? sign me UP!!

Let Me Hear You Say Hello I really really love this! This chorus is so catchy I am obsessed! Also rapper Chan lives. FOr me. This entire song is incredible its so fun and different from anything they have tried so far. Super nice. BOP.

247 When I say I have dreamed of a song like this for Performance Unit...Their VOCALS sdfghjk Go Off!! Hao and Chans low soft raps versus Jun and Soonyoung doing those fucking falsetto high ass beautiful notes i am !!!! I'm so happy they have a song like this for them! Shows their voices so well and beautiful. Also the small dance break.. They BETTER have a modernish-lyrical type choreo for this.. Like then I truly can die happily. AMAZING 10/10

Second Life Wow... not what i expected at all.. really really lovely. SHUA!? Everyone's vocals they just keep on getting better huh! This song feels like you s/o taking you out into the field of flowers and grass to have a picnic and drink champagne. Like I feel so warm and fuzzy on the inside now,, so conforting as always with them.. Lovely!

Network Love This song is crazy good!!! Oh my god yall should have seen me when the chorus first dropped I defenitely did not expect that at all. So fresh and fun and with killer vocals!! This unit we are so blessed i am having the BEST TIME!!! The vocals of everyone.. sensational. What they deserve!!! Also this is highkey moon junhui's song and I am obsessed with it for him.

Back It Up A BOP!!! THEY GO OFF DAMN!!! This is so cool,, the sirens in the background instrumentals. Like it is so unique and the chorus is so fun I really see like an entire arena just losing their minds during this to be honest.

Lucky MINGYU'S RAP PART! BUt this groovy/disco-y vibe!! The funk and brass FOR ME! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!!! It's so much more uptempo that I expected this is crazy fun!!! Might be my favourite so far.. Like wow they did this for me I am the biggest sucker for funky singalong bops like this. also the bridge and the music that drops out for a little bit.. incredible. WAIT DID CHEOL SING BTW CAUSE? CONCLUSION THIS IS CAPITAL T THE SONG

Snap Shoot I............................. I have no words. Where to start, literally. Like the intro alone!!! It has some legit gospel vibes but then it just goes pop and i am !!!! Anyways this song is a dream come true idek. I took like a 20 minutes break after this to cool myself down this song has the same effect on me as aju nice does and for anyone that has every talked to me before, yall know how big of a deal that is. Like this song!! Is!! EVERYTHING!!! Makes me super happy. I have a lot more to say about it but I can't seem to find the words right now. What I do know is that I cried happy tears and have lost it completely.. sensational!

Happy Ending I already really loved this song and i still do! It feels odd to hear it in a different language but a fucking joy nevertheless!!

28 Rebecka Karlsson – “Who I Am” Result: Andra Chansen

This song doesn’t leave an impression on me at all. It’s boring and sounds like I’ve heard it before.

27 Andreas Johnson – “Army of Us” Result: Andra Chansen

This is also a kinda boring and “been done before” entry, very Coldplay or Avicii as many have said. I don’t have anything else to say lol

26 Hanna Ferm & LIAMOO – “Hold You” Result: Finalist

This song is so cheesy and weak, like Running Scared 2.0... I am not getting the hype at all, Sweden has many much better songs to pick from. 

25 Nano - “Chasing Rivers” Result: Andra Chansen

This could be a really strong entry but it’s really bad vocally. The mumble singing really doesn’t work with this song and I hope he fixes that if he wants a chance at getting into the final!

24 Dolly Style – “Habibi” Result: Eliminated

The song is fine but the last group I would have expected to try and rip off Arabic pop vibes in their song was definitely Dolly Style. I just don’t think any of this works. It’s reminiscent of Germany 2016 where Jamie Lee was singing that sad ballad while dressed as some kind of anime character. Like what the hell is going on? It’s just too much

23 Margaret – “Tempo” Result: Eliminated

I was surprised this didn’t even make AC, but it didn’t deserve to in my opinion. I’m not really a big fan of Margaret’s entries in Melfest and I’m still not sure why she competes in Melfest instead of representing Poland

22 Jan Malmsjö – “Leva livet” Result: Eliminated

I’m not really a huge fan of this song but like, he’s 86 years old and he absolutely still has star power, so I’m happy for him. I don’t speak enough Swedish to understand the song but it’s pretty interesting and charming nonetheless.

21 Zeana feat. Anis Don Demina – “Mina bränder” Result: Eliminated

This song is incoherent and all over the place so I get why it was eliminated. Zeana’s voice is too breathy for the fast paced lyrics.

20 Bishara – “On My Own” Result: Finalist

His vocal performance is good but I don’t really like the song. It’s just not for me. It’s very JESC-like but has mature lyrics about relationship problems which is strange to me.

19 The Lovers of Valdaro – “Somebody Wants” Result: Eliminated

It’s an ok song but I think this song would sound better if they didn’t use falsetto and if it weren’t so repetitive. Their musical style otherwise has a lot of potential so maybe they could come back with something stronger?

18 High15 – “No Drama” Result: Eliminated

The music is very boppy and memorable but it’s like “ummmm” that this is a song about "drinking your problems away” (alcoholism) and these girls are 15-16 years old... maybe if they were older or if the lyrics were different it would be likeable? I dunno

17 Vlad Reiser – “Nakna i regnet” Result: Andra Chansen

This is a decent song, I don’t think it will get out of AC though lol.

16 Ann-Louise Hanson – “Kärleken finns kvar” Result: Eliminated

This song is very soft and warm. It isn’t as strong as the others but it was very heartfelt.

15 Arja Saijonmaa – “Mina fyra årstider” Result: Eliminated

This song is very sweet and gentle with a lovely message. It’s very sad that so many older artists in Sweden take an interest in Melfest but never stand a chance against youthful pop songs.

14 Martin Stenmarck – “Låt skiten brinna” Result: Andra Chansen

This is pretty good. I don’t really have anything else to say.

13 Anton Hagman – “Känner dig” Result: Eliminated

I personally really like this song but the staging was weird and it wasn’t really a standout. I get why it didn’t go anywhere

12 Omar Rudberg – “Om om och om igen” Result: Eliminated

Another song that would’ve maybe fared better if it lost the falsetto. I love how modern it is and that it has lines in Spanish though. Very boppy.

11 Oscar Enestad – “I Love It” Result: Eliminated

Ok this was robbed!!! I think maybe having a staging with a light up prop was too similar to Dance You Off last year. I thought it was really good either way.

10 Arvingarna – “I Do” Result: Andra Chansen

I was pretty excited when I heard Arvingarna would be back, because Eloise was a great entry and I wondered how their music has evolved since like 25 years ago. So this song is pretty good, not the strongest in Melfest this year but a nice and catchy song that I really like.

9 Mohombi – “Hello” Result: Finalist

This song is cute and performed really well!! I’d be ok with it winning Melfest

8 Lina Hedlund – “Victorious” Result: Finalist

I’m so glad Sweden didn’t sleep on this, because it is fantastic! The staging is so smart and Lina sounds awesome.

7 Pagan Fury – “Stormbringer” Result: Eliminated

This was different and absolutely EPIC and Sweden completely robbed it... I don’t even know what to say!

6 Lisa Ajax – “Torn” Result: Andra Chansen

This is good!! I think it’s too similar to Wiktoria’s song though, and Wiktoria’s is better.

5 Anna Bergendahl - “Ashes to Ashes” Result: Andra Chansen

This song is pretty, and I love the staging. Her vocals are great and confident. This is a lot better than her 2010 entry. I hope she will qualify from AC too.

4 Malou Prytz – “I Do Me” Result: Finalist

This song is really cute and danceable. I hope it does well!!

3 John Lundvik – “Too Late For Love” Result: Finalist

Another great song from John Lundvik! I love how this combines the feel of a ballad with an upbeat bridge and chorus. It’s great, and is another song I’d like to see win!!

2 Wiktoria – “Not With Me” Result: Finalist

This. Is. Stunning!!!!! She absolutely deserves to win Melfest this year!! A simply  beautiful and emotional song and performance!!

1 Jon Henrik Fjällgren – “Norrsken” Result: Finalist

Everything about this entry is perfection to me. His voice and the scenery are so beautiful. This really deserves to win Melfest too. <3 Jon Henrik deserved to win Melfest in every year he’s participated so far and that’s the tea
