Ro headcannons

She is autistic. Think about it, her disregard for social skills, the sensory problems she experiences, her ‘I’m not a hugger’ thing, she just feels so autism coded to me

She let Cadfael go after the fight with the trolls because he helped, it was an eye for an eye.

Her mother is emotionally neglectful, she has never once talked about her, leading me to believe that she hasn’t seen much of her mom

In contrast, her father tried his hardest to stay involved despite the fact he had kingly duties, he carried the toddler Ro around and when he couldn’t, he entrusted his baby with the bast babysitters around. He taught her how to fight, he taught her the best moves he knew to keep her safe, loving words were sparse, hugs were rare, but when he ruffled her hair and murmured, ‘good job’ she felt so proud of herself she thought she might explode. A babysitter hurt her once, just a light slap when she was whining and her father killed the babysitter slowly and painfully.

She’s got the same texture of hair as a black women, it takes her half an hour to do it.

Keefe was once trying to draw and his hair got in the way so many times that she dragged him to the bathroom and trimmed it just so she didn’t have to hear him be annoyed.

She gets severe nightmares, and rarely sleeps. She has ptsd from battles she has been in, any loud noises put her on high alert, one time Grizel jokingly snuck up on her (she was only able to cause she specializes in stealth) and Ro flipped her over her shoulder and punched her so hard, Sandor thought that Ro had turned sides and was attacking. She was so mortified, she didn’t look any of them in the eyes for days.

Cadfael hit her once, outside of sparing, they were arguing and he punched her in the face. She, despite knowing 17 ways to kill him in under a minute, just stood there, her face still turned away from the hit and fighting back the lump in her throat. She broke up with him before leaving, he was remorseful and promised he’d never do it again, she left immediately. Ro got home and her father asked her what had happened, a few tears trickled down her face and she just said Cadfael and her broke off cause she’d gotten bored of winning.

Her mum never understood her autism growing up and abused her. She then ran away from home and got married to an ex councillor.

She was Bronte's only friend growing up and is around the same age as him.

She is a vanisher and beguiler. She and her husband make music and incorporate ogre instruments and goblin instruments. (All head Canon btw)

I believe her side job is Quinlin's assistant because Quinlin calls her incompetent (her autism) in the first book. It also says that Bronte sent her to watch him hence that's why I think shes Quinlin's assistant. Portrait:

i know this point has been made exhaustively but being fuck zoned hurts SO BAD. thinking you make a friend only for them to distance themselves when they realise they can’t have sex with you, for that to happen over and over, to feel like the only way you can make some kind of connection is to be sexually available…it’s crushing and extremely isolating. This is an experience I think most people perceived as female can relate to, doubly so for those who are in male dominated spaces and/or autistic
