âWelcome back from patrol, Miss Songbird, thatâs what the press is calling you right?â your boots rang out against the metal floor of the warehouse that you and your so called group of misfits called home, all runaways, all some sort of vigilante, none of you knew each other's real names and nor did you need to, it would just bring back bad memories for most of you and for all of you it gave plausible deniability it anyone ever came looking. You spotted the one you all called Foxglove sitting on one of the couches in the warehouse, she was the one who was talking to you as you walked in. Foxglove is a young woman, your age give or take a few months, long red hair and blue eyes, she was a tall young woman, probably from around Central City from where you could place her voice, but none of that really mattered, the past did not matter, only the here and the now. âHard night or nah?â
âNot really, I just avoided a run in with Red Robin, he almost spotted me when I was on the Madison Street bridge, I almost crashed my bike trying to avoid him this time.â You spoke to her as you took off your mask, peeling it away from the skin by your eyes. Your suits and gear were gifts from someone you had saved from a hostage situation, a wealthy businessman from Coast City, Mark Austen, he had sponsored your work with no strings attached except a friendly relationship so if you needed help just ask and vise versa with him, he came by every month or so to drop of a shipment of gear and repairs and he did know your nicknames and faces but certainly not your real names, well knew yours due to your paths crossing before but that was another life. You sat down on the couch across from Foxglove, your body falling down with a heavy thump, you would need a replacement soon, you should ask Mark on the next shipment of supplies. You cracked your neck and threw your head back on the backrest of the couch with a heavy sigh. âAlso, please donât call me that, it makes me sound like one of them and not one of us, ya know?â
âYou mean like one of the bats and birds? I mean thatâs fine I guess.â She groaned, laying back on the couch and crossing her legs over the armrest. She was off of patrol for the next few weeks, got shot a few days back by one of Black Maskâs men and got her foot pretty messed up, so she has been on communication links and the technical sides of things. âI donât get why you wonât work with them at all, I mean even Clove and Nettle have sucked up to work with the Bat. Itâs a personal history, Iâm right arenât I?â
âYou're rarely wrong.âÂ
âWere you one of them? Like one of the Batâs birds?âÂ
â...Kind of⊠IâŠI⊠wasnât⊠one of them exactly.â You choked on your words as a sudden weight on your chest sparked up yet again, a weight you have not felt in a very long time. How long has it been since you left them? Three years, maybe four? You brought your legs up to your chest, wrapping your arms around them and hugging yourself close as your eyes fixed upon one of the tinted out windows of the warehouse. âI⊠I donât like talking about it.â
âOh⊠I didnât mean⊠Iâm sorry if I brought up any bad memories.â She apologized to you, her more relaxed tone falling into a deep pit of sympathy to you. There was a beeping from the laptop that sat on the coffee table between the two of you, the one that she had been using to watch the communication line, someone was calling in. She grabbed the computer and answered the line, catching your attention as you listened in. âClove, Foxglove and Nightshade here, whatâs your status?â
Right⊠Nightshade⊠that was your name now.
âYa, Henbane and I have a bit of a situation hereâŠâ Cloveâs voice cuts through the line and there was a bit of unease in her voice as she spoke to you both. âWeâre down Southside, by the docks, there was supposed to be that shipment tonight⊠that was a front, there is a lady here who wants to meet.â
âWell Nettle is up by Gotham University at the moment and I am stuck here at base with my foot-â
âNo she just wants to meet with Nightshade- or she called her Songbird anyway, says she knows her.â Cloveâs words made you prick up, no one has known any of you for years, you all ran away and when you did you all became nameless. âI donât think she is one for negotiation but I also donât think sheâll let us leave unless Nightshade is here.â
âCan you tell us what she looks like-â
âDonât, I know who it is, or a very good guess at least.â You stood up from the couch and grabbed your mask once again and pressed it back onto your skin as you made your way back to the warehouse garage. âTurn on my spare tracker just in case anything goes wrong, Foxglove. I donât have a good feeling about this.â
âDo you think sheâll kill you?â
âShe wouldnât dare.â
________________________
You pulled your bike over in an alley as you neared the trackers that were on Clove and Henbane, tucking it behind a dumpster so no one would see it while you were away. The docks were dead this time of night, there was a drug bust last night by Batman so the docks were dead in case he was still lurking about tonight, but you knew he was not, you knew him better than that. You walked down the cement road, following it as you neared the water, according to their trackers Henbane and Clove were by the north east waterside of the docks.
âAbout damn time you showed up, Nightshade.â You looked up to see Clove leaning up against a warehouse wall, Henbane next to her. Clove was an innocent looking girl, she was fourteen maybe fifteen when you all started, so now she was just barely an adult if that, she looked like a terrified lamb with her short wavy brown hair and eyes, her freckles and round glasses. Henbane was not as innocent looking as his best friend, he was a big guy, six foot, five inches, curly brown hair and green eyes, and just pure muscle. They walked over to you, Clove looking a lot more terrified than her counterpart, she was normally the one on communication links. âShe hasnât said anything since we called and just has been standing there, waiting.â
You glanced behind them, and just ten yards or so away stood a silhouette of a powerful looking female frame, only the shape was visible in the darkness of the Gotham night. You took a deep breath in and out and took a step forward, pushing away Henbaneâs hand when he tried to stop you, you glanced at him and Clove, not even bothering to force a smile at them, time for that sort of thing was long lost. âDonât worry, Iâll be fine, just wait here.â
They nodded before you walking off, your heart pounding in your chest as you neared her, it was the first time in years that anyone has found you, you knew that your family had been searching for you since you left but they never found you, on both sides of things, with and without masks. But really you shouldnât be surprised that she was the one who found you first, she was not a part of them exactly but she cared for you nonetheless, if you can call it caring. You came to stand next to her, looking over the still waters of the night. You saw her turn to you out of the corner of your eye, you felt her hand come up onto your cheek gently caressing your skin before reaching for the mask and peeling it away from your skin, revealing your face before both of her hands came up your face to turn your head to look at her.
âYouâve grown so much.â
âHello Talia.â Seems like you were right about who was waiting for you, none other than the daughter of the demon, Talia Al Ghul. You would need to get in touch with Mr. Austen sooner or later and see what he could do about shutting down the media on you and your friends, you needed to stay nameless. You pushed her hands away from your face, grabbed your mask from her hands and pressed it back onto your face. âMake this quick, this is on your sonâs patrol route and heâll be here soon-â
âHe is also your brother if you had forgotten.â
âAnd yet, you are not my mother.â You glared at her, eyes narrowing at her as she turned to look back over the moonlit waters. âI will ask you one more time, what do you want, Talia?â
âYou remind me of your father.â
âFuck this, Iâm heading back to base.â Right as you turned to head back to your bike she grabbed your wrist, holding you back, you should not try to fight her, she could break every bone in your body if she wanted to, she would not do such a thing, not to you, but she certainly could. You snapped at her verbally, your voice like daggers. âWhat?â
âSomething dangerous is brewing in Gotham, something beyond what you and your⊠friends can handle.â She glanced over to where Henbane and Clove were standing, just out of earshot before looking back at you. âGo back home tonight, my dear.â
âOr what?â
âIf you leave me no choice, then I will wait here until my Damian arrives here on his patrol and tell him about who is behind that mask you wear.âÂ
she released your hand and you stepped away from her, glancing back at her after she spoke, just looking her over, she certainly was not bluffing about this. You turned away from her, walking away, back to Clove and Henbane as you called out to her. âWell I better get a headstart then.â
âYou are making a mistake, dearest.â
âI have made plenty of those before and I am still alive, Talia.â You heard her sigh and you waved back towards your friends and you just knew they would be asking a million questions after your conversation but you pressed your finger to Cloveâs mouth as she was about to peep. âIâll explain later, get a hold of Foxglove and get her to tell everyone to get back to base now.â
âBut Nettle is-â
âNo buts, we donât have any time to fight on this, we need to regroup and I need to fill you all in about⊠more than a few things.â
________________________
âSo whatâs this emergency meeting all about, something Nightshade got caught in?â Nettle questioned, everyone was sitting around the kitchen table, well the only proper dining table you had in the warehouse. Nettle was a short young man, you all took him in about a year ago, seventeen now, short blonde hair and green eyes, he was the one who had the most known backstory out of all of you, and that was you all knowing he was from Metropolis, you didnât ask questions and you did not need to know.Â
âMore like my past coming back to haunt me.â You sighed and crossed your arms, sitting on top of the kitchen counter, feeling a need to physically distance yourself while you gathered your thoughts. âYou all have been in Gotham for quite some time, but I was born here and well a few things have come to the surface.â
âWhat things?âÂ
You sighed at Henbaneâs question, you reached into your pocket and pulled out your phone, it was a burner from Mr. Austen because god knows you cannot have something for them to find you. You had opened up to a news article about a disappearance from a number of years ago, your disappearance. You set it in the middle of the table for all of them to read the headline at least and see the photo underneath that. âMy old family, if you can call them that, knows my identity as of around three or so hours ago.â
All of them just stared at the headline for a long moment, Clove was glancing between you, the phone, and everyone else to see their reactions before her gaze fell back to rest upon you. âYouâre one of Bruce Wayneâs kids?â
âYep, I am his youngest daughter and biological child.â
âAnd we should be afraid of Bruce Wayne, why? He is just some rich playboy-â
âNo he is not.â you cut Foxglove off and everyoneâs heads turned to you. âThe whole rich playboy persona is a cover up, he⊠he⊠heâs the Batman, the Dark Knight of Gotham, whatever you want to call him.â
âSo wait, are your siblings like Nightwing or Robin?!â
âWait, were you a Robin?â
âShe couldnât have been, Henbane was the one who taught her how to fight⊠right?â
âIs this why you donât like the Bats?â
âI⊠just one at a time, please.â You asked your friends as they suddenly bombarded you with questions and statements and they all hushed at your request. âFirst of all, yes, those are my brothers, but I wished they werenât. Secondly, no I was never a Robin or whatever, I didnât want to be and even if I wanted I would not be allowed to be, I never learned how to fight, they thought they were protecting me.â
âWerenât they?â Nettle questioned you, glancing about the table for approval from the others.Â
âThey did not⊠I⊠let me explain.â You jumped back onto the counter, crossing your legs and sitting down on it. You took a deep breath in and out, closing your eyes and taking a minute to calm yourself. âWhat I am about to tell you brings back some bad memories and it took a long time and some help from Mr. Austen to connect all the dots on this since a lot of it my mom didnât want me to know because I was young and she wanted to protect meâŠâ âItâs okay.â You heard Henbaneâs voice tell you, like he could practically hear your heart racing. âTake as much time as you need, none of us like to think about the past.â
âIâm fine⊠Iâve had a long time to come to terms with this⊠but thank you.â You opened your eyes and smiled at your friend and his intimidating frame was not frightening to you, not anymore, actually it never was, he was the one who found you alongside Foxglove when you managed to sneak away during a charity gala, they found you in that alleyway not long after they found each other. âMy mother was engaged to Bruce Wayne a long time ago, before the first Robin, Dick Grayson, even came around and when he was just starting really as the Bat. My mom loved him, but if they ever had any kids she didnât want them to be involved or hurt by anything he got involved with, she didn't want that sort of life. So she called off their engagement and left him, and like clockwork she found out she was pregnant with me a few days later.â
âShe raised you by herself?â You nodded at Cloveâs question and a deep look of pity came across her face. âThat must have been so hard for her.âÂ
âDonât we⊠not gonna lie we were filthy rich, we were just fine with my momâs own money.â That comment drew a laugh from Henbane and Foxglove along with an embarrassed chuckle from Clove. âMy mom was a really great mother and an even better single parent, I was always by her side, she took me all around the world and it was just us for a really long time. Then one day we returned to Gotham for some big charity party when I was seven I think and she saw Bruce again and he saw me⊠I was young and naive to the dangers of the world like most other children, but then again the children in his life had been right with him fighting crime, I mean that woman at the docks, she is my half-brotherâs mother, she is the daughter of the leader of the League of Assassins, Talia Al GhulâŠâ
â...are you serious?â There was a shocked silence in the room after you said that before Henbane spoke up and you nodded to his question, he just stared off as he leaned back into his chair. âJesus ChristâŠâ
âYa, he is now the current Robin, Damian Wayne, trained by the League of Assassins- but that is another story, sorry I was rambling. Anyway he never got over my mom and now that I was around he wanted to protect us and I know my siblings may have been the ones to kind of prove his point with that. I know my oldest brother, Dick, tried to talk to my mom about that but that didnât work and so then Tim, he⊠he started to look into my mom to find blackmail.â
âTo blackmail your mother.â
âRight on the money, Clove. So when it was the day before we were supposed to leave and this part is actually my fault⊠I ran away from my nanny and I almost got kidnapped and I got saved by the Red Hood-â
âWait, is the Red Hood also-â
âMy brother? ya, he is, his name is Jason⊠he was actually pretty nice to hang out with, him and my sister Cass, Cassandra Cain. I remember after he rescued me, Jason took me to Wayne Manor and I met my father for the first time and I remember it was nice, until it wasnât⊠I remember my fath- Bruce coming back later that night with my mom, they were going to get married and it just felt off. I knew something was wrong, I just didnât know what until it became clear to me over the years, Damian threatening my classmates at school when I was kid when they only wanted to have lunch with me, or when I found a file upon file about me and my mom and photos of us in Timâs room, or hell when I got a boyfriend he almost got strangled by Damian and got his life threatened, and when I punched a kid at school I got sent to Bludhaven to live with my brother, Dick, or there was the time I was⊠I was having sex with my boyfriend and for that I got locked in my room for over a month and then⊠actually I donât like talking about that.â You sighed and let your shoulders relax, looking over your friends and gauging their shocked and disturbed reactions. âYou all get the idea now, and so as of a few hours ago they know I am still here in Gotham and who I am behind the mask, thanks to Talia Al Ghul who I have an⊠interesting relationship with.â
âBut why?â
âI refused to go home, thanks to the feed that has been shown on news she found me and well she is going to tell them, or rather she has already.â You glanced over to the evidence board that is over on the far end of the warehouse, by all of your gear and the bikes, well you and Clove were the only one with bikes, Mr. Austen was working on an armored car for the others since you can Clove were the only one to know about motorbikes, you from the times you snuck into the Batcave or when Jason brought you down to hang out while he worked or even when Kate Kane snuck you out on hers. âShe told me that something dangerous is in Gotham, beyond us, but then again I do not know if she would lie about that or not⊠itâs been awhile since I last saw Talia⊠she was very fond of my mother, kind of like my dad is of my mom.âÂ
âSo what now? If something like that is here we canât team up with the Bats anymore, that would be crazy to risk losing one of our own.â Nettle added in looking at everyone around the room. âAnd plus they know we know you and where you are.â
âSo we just need to be more cautious on patrols, we have a shipment from Mr. Austen coming in tonight before patrols. I can see if he will be willing to help us out, teach him the communication lines so when my foot is healed I can head out with the rest of you.â Foxglove spoke up to Nettleâs concern before she looked at you. âThen I am guessing from what you said, Mr. Austen already knows.â
âYa, he recognized me the moment of that first delivery when I was out of my suit, he is a friend so we can trust him.â
âMkay⊠wait a secondâŠâ Foxglove paused and looked at you, an idea already coming to her mind. âIf they know you are still in Gotham now then you donât have to hide anymore. I mean how many press are going to recognize you four years later and the Bats arenât out during the day besides Signal but you arenât in costume during the day so itâs not like he can interact with you at all unless he wants to expose himself.â
âWait, what are you saying?â
âYou can head out during the day, find allies, I mean you couldnât before cause your family is still in Gotham and didnât know youâre here and Nettle canât still because he only went missing a year ago and would be too recognizable, but the rest of us can.â Foxglove grabs one of the writing pads from the table and a loose pen, waking you all over to gather âround as she begins scribbling down a schedule, or something along those lines. âWe donât leave the warehouse alone, groups of two or more now, the Bats will connect the dots but none of us have civilian identities anymore, I mean hell, Mr. Austen calls us the nameless, no one will know or recognize us anymore. I am stuck here for now cause of this foot, but when I am free to move, Henbane is with me on the streets and Clove is with you, Nightshade, but until then both of you are to stick with Nightshade, and then Nettle and I will hold up the fort here.â
âSo then⊠where to now?â Clove questioned, looking at you, or more specifically, looking you up and down, clearly judging your appearance of sweatpants and a tee shirt since you have pretty much been in hiding for four years, not much need for nice clothes. âActually some different clothes would do you some good, câmon, Iâll lend you some of mine and we can ask Mr. Austen for some cash to go shopping when he swings by later tonight.â
âOur sugar daddy.â
âNo, more like our rich wine aunt who spoils us.â
âHow about we just call him our benefactor?â
âNo.âÂ
________________________
Luckily your rich benefactor gave you more than supplies for vigilantism, but also supplied you more everyday transportation and funds for those sort of normal items, like a licenced bikes along with your armored ones for your use, along with fake ID cards, but you really did not need those anymore, you could even park in a parking garage, that felt weird to you now. You could not remember the last time you stood in a coffee shop line, maybe the last time Barbara and Dick took you out, you felt so flustered that Clove had to order for you.Â
âHey, donât beat yourself over if, I remember the first time Foxglove and I headed out to the streets for the first time, it felt like a whole other world, it just takes time to get used to.â Henbane tried to comfort you as you walked out of the coffee shop, drinks in hand. âClove was also a fish out of water.â
âIt just feels weird to be out here, like normal.âÂ
âWell, weâll get you back to normal soon enough.â Clove patted you on the back and you forced a smile before staring down at your iced coffee, this felt nice, it felt normal. âAny other place you need to stop by before heading back to the warehouse.â
â...Actually yaâŠâ You looked up at Henbane and Clove, taking a deep breath in and out. âCall me crazy⊠but I want to go see my mom.â
âYour mom⊠wait, that means going back to Wayne Manor-â
âClove, I havenât seen her in four years, please.â You looked your friend dead in the eye and smiled, one of hope for a change. âTheyâll respect a truce, especially with what I know from Talia, I donât think she would have given a warning when she only wanted me to try to get me out of the way of it, besides maybe some of the leads we have for out cases connect to whatâs coming and she knew and thatâs why she wanted us out of the way.â
âIâŠfine, but weâre going in with you.â Clove responded before Henbane could and she shot a look at him when he tried to. âWeâll send word to Foxglove and Nettle along with Mr. Austen, so if anything goes south theyâll know where to find us and besides donât they?â
âThey do, but still Nightshade, we need to stay safe and this-â
âIâll be fine, after all we do have leverage.â
âAnd if youâre not fine?â
âThen Iâll be safe from whatever Talia warned me about.â
________________________
Your bikes pulled up to the gate of Wayne Manor, it had been years since you saw the grounds you used to live at and none of it has changed, it has the same sprawling grounds, the same iron and brick fence, and surely the people inside have not changed much either. It took you a moment before you heard the intercom buzz next to the gate, luckily it was just audio and motion, not camera.Â
âItâs⊠itâs me, Iâm here to talk.â
You could practically hear the shocked silence from the other end of the line before the gate swung open and you could pull forward before it shut behind the three of you. By the time you pulled up to the front door and took off your helmets the door of the manor had flung open and you saw Dick as the first one standing there, staring at you, he looked like he was about to cry at the sight of you. At the sight of someone, both Clove and Henbane tensed up, ready to jump in front of you at a momentâs notice, Dick quickly caught onto their defensive behavior and his eyes narrowed at them, glancing between the two of them.
âTalia told Damian last night⊠Please tell me itâs not true.â As Dick spoke those words, his eyes fell on you just as you could make out the silhouettes of everyone else in the doorway, minus Duke, he must be on patrol. Damian and Tim came just next to Dick, they really didnât look much different from how you last saw them, more tired maybe, you could spot Jason, Stephanie, and Cassandra behind them, and it felt like you could practically hear Bruceâs footsteps from inside the manor. âPlease⊠you canât be.â
âIt is trueâŠâ The air left your throat as you saw a muscular figure push past his children and there in the doorway you make eye contact with him, your father, Bruce Wayne. His gaze left like death by a thousand cuts, but you swallowed your fear and looked him dead in the eye as it felt he was daring you to say that again. âI am not lying, after all my mother taught me better than that.â
You heard your father sigh and rub his temples with his forefinger and thumb as he walked down the stairs, he was still acting like you were a child and the life you lived for the past four years has just been a game you have been playing with your friends at recess. âLetâs get you inside and we can talk this over while Alfred gets your room ready.â
When he reached out and grabbed your wrist you felt yourself stiffen up and there was not a moment of pause before Henbane reached out for his throat, a big mistake. Without skipping a beat, you saw your father release you and reach out and grab your masculine friendâs arm and flip him onto his back and then the next thing you knew you were pushed behind Clove as she had pulled out her handgun and had it pointed at your fatherâs head, another mistake, but it seemed your father was more in a negotiation mood. He glared down at Clove, looking her dead in the eye behind her thick glasses. âPut the gun down.â
âNo-â
âClove, put down the gun.â
âYou said this was going to be a visit! I donât want to lose you-â
âClove, please!â You were practically begging your friend at this point, you could practically hear her heavy breathing as she was on the point of tears and breaking down and sobbing. âClove...â
You just watched your father grab the gun from your friendâs hands, tossing it on the ground. He looked back to your siblings in the doorway. âDick, Jason, get them inside and sit her down, she needs to calm down.â
âBut-â
âNow!â
Dick didnât argue any further and he walked down the front steps and ushered Clove inside, talking to her as if she was a citizen in distress, meanwhile Jason just practically picked up Henbane over his shoulder and carried him inside as if he was just a giant sack of potatoes.Â
What vigilantes you all were.
You felt Bruceâs hand come to rest upon your shoulder and you looked him in the eye as he smiled at you, it should be comforting, a fatherly smile, but you just hated that look, it just always made you feel like there was a pit in the bottom of your stomach and you wanted to vomit.Â
âYouâre back home-â
âIâm not staying.â you cut him off and slapped his hand away. You glared at him, gritting your teeth behind your lips. âI only came because I was warned about something dangerous and because Taliaâs actions have let me walk outside again. So you would be wise to not to do anything, because if me or my friends arenât back before patrol tonight then I promise you all of Gotham will know who the Batman is along with the rest of you, and do not try me on this because I promise you I am not nor even was that helpless little girl you pictured me as.â
â...Fine, weâll discuss this inside.â

Asking the L&Ds boys "What are we?" Part 1: Zayne
Summary: MC and her boy have been in a sort of situation-ship but MC wants to know why they haven't officially called her their girlfriend
a/n: This ended up being much longer than I thought so I'm making it into 4 parts (one for each boy) starting with Zayne. you can request who you want me to post next if you want
Genres/Warnings: angst, fluff, kinda slow burn
Word count: 635
Other parts: 2, 3, 4
Youâre sitting in his office for your scheduled check-up. The bulk of the check-up was done and since you were his last patient that evening he asked you to wait for him to finish so he could drive you home. While he finished up some final notes on his computer you sat in the chair across from him mindlessly scrolling on social media while you waited. After a few minutes of silence, you hear a small knock on the door of the office.
âCome inâ Zayne called as he looked up from his computer, you also turned around to see who it could be. A younger man in a lab coat similar to Zayneâs pokes his head in and starts talking
âSorry to bother you Dr. Zayne⊠oh,â he stopped talking when he saw you sitting there looking up from your chair. âI didnât realize your girlfriend was here, Iâll just ask you tomorrow, sorry againâ Your heart skipped a beat at the word girlfriend.
The young doctor was about to leave when Zayne cut him off âItâs ok youâre already here now, you might as well just ask.
âOh..uhh⊠okâ the young doctor awkwardly steps closer to Zaynes desk and hands him a few papers âWould you be able to sign these for me, since Iâm shadowing you for my class I need you to sign them so I can get my class creditâÂ
âOh he must be a student,â you thought
Zayne takes them from him and quickly looks through all of them, signs on the dotted line and promptly hands them back to the student. âYou did very well these past few weeks, I was glad to have you as my apprentice. I hope to see you someday as a doctor here at Aksoâ Zayneâs voice sounded so sincere and sweet that even the student blushed a little.
âThank you, sir, Iâll try my hardestâ the student does a deep bow and quickly leaves the room
After he left Zayne went back to finishing up his work, but instead of going back to your doom scrolling you looked up at Zayne. âWhy didnât you correct him?â
Zayne looks up over his computer screen âHuh? correct him on what?â Zayne questioned
âJust now when that student called me your girlfriend, you didnât correct him.â you scooted your chair closer to his desk and looked him in the eye trying to read his expression
âWhy would I correct him? Was he wrong, are you not my girlfriend?â the feigned ignorance in his voice made you lose your words for a second. Once you regain your composure you stand up and look down at Zayne whose lips have now curled up into a slight smirk âno thats not⊠well you ⊠uh... youâve never called me that beforeâ you sit back down and look away after that sudden burst of confidence.
Zayne chuckles lightly. âNaturally, I assumed you already were, since every night we have dinner together, Iâm the one you call when youâve had a rough day, we spend hours on the phone together talking about nothing and you stay at my house so often that you even have your own designated closet space and a toothbrush. âÂ
You can still barely look at him âyeah but..â
âYouâre right I should have corrected him,â he says with a mischievous grin
âWhat?!â you jump up from your seat worried that you accidentally messed up what you had with Zayne.
âBecause at this point weâre basically marriedâ he stands up, takes your hand and lightly kisses it. âBut if you need to hear me say it I willâ he looks up at your flustered expression, his smile gets even bigger and he looks you in the eye and says âAlright shall we get going, girlfriend?â

.
Imagine coming in to work for König as his secretary after he reluctantly agrees to let the captain hire help for him. Walking into his office the first day to see the massive man with piercing pale blue eyes. A sniper hood with bleached tear looking stains covering his face. He just looks at you. Not being able to see his facial expression because of the mask so you just stand there frozen. So frozen with fear looking into his eyes that you failed to notice the massive hard on he has growing in his pants.
Your first few weeks there he didnât talk much to you. Handing you files and asking for little earns to be ran for him, like coffee or lunch pick up. Slowly he started to talk more, âDanke, bitte, nien, ja.â His eyes always boring into yours as if he was looking into your soul. It was unsettling, but the pay was great and he has never actually been rude to you so you put up with it.
You had gotten into the routine and started to enjoy the job. König was an easy man to work for as long as you did things as expected and he never over worked you. As a plus he turned out to be sweeter than expected. Coming into work on your birthday to see a simple cupcake with frosting in your favorite color on your desk and a card stuffed with cash. König never actually says âHappy Birthdayâ, but this is just how he expresses he cares.
âThank you, König.â
He gives a simple nod and goes back to typing up a report.
Six months in he asks you to stay after, he has to talk to you. You begin to worry, anxiety spikes as you realize you might be getting fired. Trying to think about the mistakes you might have made, you sit a chair across from his desk. His eyes look away from the computer to meet yours.
Before you know it, youâre naked, bent over his desk. His mask pulled back over his head as his face is smothered between your ass cheeks as his tongue laps at your tight asshole. One of his hands has two of his thick fingers pumping in and out of your wet pussy, the feeling of your tight gummy walls wrapping around his fingers making him want in now. His other hand stroking his cock, using his own precum as lube.
âWas willst du?â His eyes travel to his fingers in your pussy before pulling them out and shoving his tongue in your slightly stretched hole.
âI want your cock,â your voice trembles with pleasure.
König lets a pleasured sigh hearing your words before pulling away from your sweet pussy. Finally, he lines up his fat cock with your entrance.
An animalistic groan escapes his lips as he pushes the tip in. König places his hands on your ass cheeks to spread them apart; his eyes watching as your pussy struggles to stretch, swallowing his cock inch my inch. Eyes fluttering to the back of his head. He feels like he just found heaven in your tight grip.
He was already falling in love; this moment just sealed the deal. A week later you came into work to find a key on your desk attached to a âKâ keychain.

Your editor was going to kill you.
Every day brought you closer to the deadline for your manuscript, and every day you could hardly help yourself out in getting to your self-imposed goal of 1,000 words. It wasnât a difficult feat; youâd done it before, and you didnât have anything else to be doing. You had absolutely zero distractions: it was just you, your notebook, and your computer. There was only one problem.
The words just werenât coming to you, and youâd already gotten a two week extension on the deadline. It felt like all your writing abilities had been rescinded.
âIâm screwed.â You professed to your best friend, falling into a pathetic heap on her couch. You needed a serious pick-me-up after struggling to write a measly paragraph, and she had readily offered a girls night.
âI think youâre being a little dramatic. Scoot over.â She replied, shoving your legs out of the way so she could sit. âMaybe you just need to get out of your house.â
âAnd go where? I canât just pack up and take a vacation right now.â You grumbled into the couch cushion.
âWhy donât you go upstate?â She suggested after a moment of silence.
âUpstate?â You repeated.
âYeah, go to the Adirondacks. My dad owns a house up there, remember? We had a blast the last time we were there.â
You and your best friend had gone up to the Adirondacks when you graduated college, and you always prefaced the retelling of it with, âIt was one of the best weeks of my life.â You almost felt silly for not thinking of doing something like that in the first place.
âIt might be a good idea⊠Do you think your dad would be okay with me staying there?â
Your best friend laughed. âYes, you idiot. Heâs let me stay there by myself, heâll definitely let you.â
A mere 24 hours went by, and you were settled in a cozy cabin in the Adirondacks with the desperate hope of having the rest of your manuscript ready by the end of your stay. Otherwise, you might as well just fire yourself and save your editor some time.
It wasnât the only cabin in the areaâ it was more like a very small community made up of six houses built exactly the same. The area was usually used by people with a decent amount of cash lining their pockets, so you were extra grateful to your best friendâs father. He had taken one look at the dejection on your face when your best friend had mentioned her grand idea, and simply handed you the keys with the promise that your stay would be free of charge.
You did feel a little out of place, thoughâ you could have sworn one of your neighbors was in a movie youâd just watched, and another one was just so ridiculously attractive there was no way he wasnât famous for something. Youâd seen him out on his front porch when you arrived, and had to force yourself not to stare or salivate over his bare torso.
The change of scenery around you helped tremendously. At first. You always felt refreshed when you went somewhere new, particularly if it was somewhere you felt more connected to nature. You had gotten into the habit of taking walks to calm yourself when you got frustrated, and having new sights was definitely an exciting prospect for when you inevitably slammed your computer shut and stormed out the door like you just did a few moments ago.
Youâll be the first to admit it: the story just isnât coming together. Your main character has a goal, a purpose, but she is entirely lacking any kind of driving force to get where she needs to go.
She has no motivation.
You can appreciate irony, but thereâs nothing funny about it right now.
The dirt and leaves crunch under your feet as you walk down the first trail that you see. It branches off from the main path that runs between all of the houses: yours, the attractive guyâs, and one other, and then the suspected movie starâs and the other two on the other side. Right now, you just want to see nothing but the path before you, the trees in your peripheral vision, the gentle summer breeze in your hair, and maybe a chipmunk or a squirrel here and there.
But, of course, you canât even have that. Youâre alone with your thoughts for all of two seconds before you hear a crash off to your left that sends a few birds flying. You would have ignored it if not for the groan that immediately followed.
âUm⊠hello?â You call out, doubling back to try and see just what the hell had happened.
If you were in a horror movie, this would most certainly be your death scene.
âAhâŠâ Itâs definitely a man, and he definitely sounds like heâs in pain.
âAre you okay?â You step off the path, getting closer to where the noise had come from.
Thatâs where you find himâ your insanely attractive neighbor, practically in the fetal position, entirely focused on the camera in his hand. His jaw is clenched, whether in pain or concern for the camera, you donât know. You just know he has a sharp jawline, long eyelashes, and curly hair.
Ugh, you could cry because heâs so good looking.
He looks up at you, eyes meeting yours, and he has the decency to look embarrassed.
âWhat the hell just happened to you?â
âI, um⊠I fell out of that tree.â He confesses, pointing to a branch, not too high up, but now dangling in half.
âAnd you were in the tree becauseâŠâ You trail off, gesturing for him to explain further.
âRight, well, I was taking pictures and had an idea for a good one from a higher vantage point, so I climbed the tree. Thought I had a good balance, butââ He winces as he pushes himself up into a sitting position. âI didnât.â
âNo kidding. Youâre lucky you didnât break anything.â You marvel, hands held out in front of you just in case he falls over when he starts standing up.
âIâm not too sure about that.â He huffs out a pained laugh.
âYou wouldnât have been able to stand up so easily if you had, and your wrist and shoulder look fine.â You point out. âI have no doubt that you bruised your side up pretty badly though.â
âYeah? How would you know?â He leans against the tree he just fell out of, his miraculously unbroken camera hanging from the strap around his neck.
âIâm a writer. Iâm like a black hole of useless information.â
âI donât think itâs useless anymore.â He takes a step forward and his face immediately contorts into a grimace. âCan I ask you a question?â
âWell, youâve already asked so much of me, but if you really have to, then sure.â You tease, and he laughs again.
âIâm probably going to need some help getting back to the house,â he begins, and then continues after taking in the surprised look on your face. âBut you donât have to. I can just crawl or something. Maybe Iâll get lucky and make it back before nightfall.â
Not just attractive, but funny too? You might as well make the most out of these two weeks and use whatever you can to help you finish that dreaded manuscript. Besides, the only other person youâve ever met who can hold a torch to your sense of humor is your best friend. This has to be a sign of some sort.
âAlright, but at least tell me your name first.â
His name is Lando, youâve known him for an hour, and you think youâre in love with him.
Sure, youâre frustrated that he completely ruined the solitude that you craved, but the ice maker in his house is broken and he desperately needs some for the bruise that you know is darkening by the second underneath his t-shirt. So heâs sprawled out on your couch, and youâre in the kitchen collecting ice cubes to wrap up in a hand towel.
âAlright, lift your shirt up,â you instruct, walking into the living room and taking a seat beside him.
âI usually take a girl out before I let her see me half naked.â
âBut itâs okay if everyone else sees you out on your porch half naked?â
âYou were looking?â He tilts his head down a little and raises his eyebrows. âLiked what you saw, did you?â
You blush. âJust shut up and lift your shirt.â
He hums a little to himself as he pulls his shirt up, revealing the beginnings of a bruise on his tan skin that is already swollen and definitely going to get worse over the next couple of days. It looks like it continues below the waistband of his boxers, but youâre not about to tell him to pull his pants down.
âThatâs ugly.â
âIâve had worse.â He shrugs, biting his lip when you gently rest the makeshift ice pack against his side.
âYou have a habit of falling out of trees?â
âI have a habit of being in potentially life-threatening situations. Itâs kinda part of my job.â He says it like heâs waiting for you to figure something out, waiting for something to click.
You take a moment to just look at him again. His fluffy curls, his infuriatingly handsome face, his thick neck, his toned stomach. And then something youâve heard your best friend say a million times echoes in your head.
I bet every F1 driverâs contract has a clause that says they have to be hot in order to get in. I mean, you have Daniel Ricciardo, Charles Leclerc, and donât even get me started onâ
âOh my God. Lando Norris?â You exclaim, almost jumping up from shock but stopping yourself so you donât jostle him. âYouâve got to be kidding me!â
âI thought you knew!â
You glare at him. âCocky much?â
âWell, what did you think when I told you my name?â He asks defensively.
âI donât know, I thought your parents really liked Star Wars or something.â
He scoffs at this and smacks your hand away, holding the ice himself. âThatâs real creative.â
âIâm sorry! My best friend is really into Formula One, but the most Iâve seen is bits and pieces of a race. Iâve never seen you, yâknow, not in your car.â You feel like your eyes are practically bugging out of your head. âWow, this is insane.â You knew he was too good looking to not be famous.
âWant me to sign something for you?â He wiggles his eyebrows at you.
âI will punch you right in your bruise.â
He stays for a couple more hours, readily enduring your endless stream of questions that follow your revelation of him being a Formula One driver, only getting a reprieve when the ice melts and you have to go get more.
He compensates for recounting his entire journey to Formula One by asking you his own questions the moment heâs done. You tell him more about how you became a writerâ how you got your bachelorâs degree, got out into the world, and realized you had no clue what you wanted to do with your life, so you took a retail job. It paid a dollar above minimum wage, but it was worth it when something you heard a customer say once inspired you to craft a narrative that your editor liked enough to pick it up. Sheâd taken a gamble on you; you were her fourth client and the book wasnât finished yet.
âSo thatâs why Iâm out here,â you pause to catch your breath. âI need to have the manuscript done two weeks from yesterday, and I wasnât getting anything done at home.â
âNeeded a change of scenery.â Lando nods, like he can read your mind.
âExactly.â You say quietly, suddenly feeling a bit self conscious under his intense gaze but refusing to look away.
The energy in the room shifts as the two of you look at each other, and you break the sudden eye contact when you take note of the fact that itâs dark out.
âI guess thatâs my cue to leave,â he breaks the silence, pulling his shirt back down and letting out a quiet groan as he gets up. âIâll see you tomorrow? Thereâs no way someone will be able to get up here to fix my ice machine by the morning.â
You blink at him a couple times, still trying to wrap your mind around the fact that you just spent hours talking with Lando Norris, all because he fell out of a tree. You didnât even offer to make him dinner or anything, and heâs making plans to do this all over again.
You still havenât spoken, so he waves his hand in front of your face. âOh! Yeah, of course. Be careful, okay?â
He gives you an obnoxious salute. âIâll try to survive the 50 steps it takes to get to my place from here.â
You go running for your laptop and start writing as soon as heâs gone.
Heâs at your door in the morning, and spends the whole day with you. Then the next, and the next, and the next thing you know, you only have four days left in your best friendâs dadâs house and it feels like you and Lando have known each other your entire lives. He isnât able to do much in terms of physical activity, and when he trips over a root after insisting heâs fine you make the executive decision to go back to your house.
âMake some room, would you?â You sigh, looking for a place to sit thanks to the fact that heâs taking up the entire couch.
He simply lifts his head up.
âYouâre joking, right?â
âIâm in pain. Donât you want me to be comfortable?â He pouts at you.
âYouâre insufferable, and a liar.â All the same, you sit down, and he rests his head in your lap.
He ignores you, eyes closed with a satisfied little smile on his face.
For his antics, you decide to disturb his newfound peace by putting the ice pack directly on his face and laugh when he bats it away.
âThatâs just mean,â he whines, pressing his lips together when you put the ice on his bruise.
Itâs mostly yellow and green now, like a weird rendition of Van Goghâs Starry Night. Lando had made a game out of poking it two nights ago that ended just as quickly when he poked himself too hard and blamed you for it when you had been in the middle of telling him not to. After that, he hadnât touched it, and now it looks a lot better. The ice probably isnât needed anymore, but youâd prefer to err on the side of caution.
âYouâll live,â you say now, patting the top of his head to distract him from the discomfort.
âThe last time I had a bruise this bad was when I crashed in Vegas last year.â He says, blinking up at the ceiling. âTook a while to go away.â
âI think I remember hearing about that. You crashed pretty early, no?â
âYup. Barely got to race.â The sentences come out very clipped, like heâs still upset about it.
âIt was a bad crash, huh?â
âPretty bad.â You donât have anything to say in response to that, so you start brushing your fingers through his curls. He relaxes instantaneously.
He almost falls asleep with his head in your lap, and thatâs when you canât take it anymore and have to kick him out. Heâs almost to the last step when he stops and turns back, making direct eye contact with you.
âYâknow, itâs too bad you werenât there when I crashed.â He gives you a soft smile. âYouâre pretty good at taking care of me.â
Well, shit.
Thereâs a bottle of cinnamon whiskey sitting in one of the kitchen cabinets that youâve been waiting for an excuse to open. You should drink it now when youâre thinking about him, but you decide to wait until you see him again.
You open your laptop and write until you fall asleep.
By the time you let him in the next morning, youâre stumped again. You only slept for a few hours and expected to get right back into your groove the moment you woke up, but when you read over what you wrote last night, your brain just refused to comprehend it. It feels like youâre back to square one, but you canât be too upset about it when Lando makes his way through the door. He doesnât mention anything about ice like he usually does, which makes you equally happy and disappointed. Happy that heâs feeling good enough to forego the ice, disappointed because that means that thereâs really no reason for him to come over anymore.
But if thereâs one thing you can expect from him, itâs his spontaneity.
âWe should go out tonight.â
âAnd where exactly would we be going?â You ask, watching him kick back on the couch like heâs the one that lives here.
âI dunno, just outside, I guess. You like stargazing?â
âI love it.â You reply enthusiastically. âI bet the stars are gorgeous out here. Iâve been cooped up every night, I havenât had the chance to see them.â
âItâs settled then. Cancel your plans, youâre all mine tonight.â
âI didnâtâ never mind.â You silently will away the flush creeping up your neck. âActually, I wanted to ask you a question.â
âShoot.â
âHowâd those pictures come out? The ones you were trying to take when you fell?â You lean over the back of the couch in order to actually see him as youâre talking to him.
âThat was two questions.â He laughs when you smack his shoulder. âI got a couple action shots as I was falling. Theyâre terrible, but Iâm thinking about keeping them for the memories. Fun story for the kids, donât you think?â
âSure.â The kids?! Youâre definitely breaking out the whiskey tonight. Itâs the first (and only) thing you grab when he goes back to his place to get a blanket.
âAre you sure youâll be okay?â You ask the moment the two of you step onto the trail, and he puts a hand over his heart.
âYour concern for me is adorable.â
âIâm only asking because you almost ate shit last time.â You burst out laughing at the immediate change in his expression.
He ends up leading the way for a mile or two before you reach a clearing that you wouldâve discovered had he not fallen out of the tree.
âThis is beautiful,â you muse, taking in your surroundings as Lando lays the blanket on the ground.
The sun is just about set, a light breeze passing through; a few different wildflowers are waving throughout the clearing. You look around and canât see any sign of civilization. While that should make you nervous, since youâre with a guy youâve only known for less than two weeks, it instead makes you relax. You forget entirely about your computer waiting for you back at the house and busy yourself with getting the top off the whiskey bottle.
âFound it the second day I was here. Iâll have to show you the pictures I got once I upload them all.â Lando says, furrowing his eyebrows as you struggle with your task. âNeed some help there?â
âBe my guest,â you hand it over and have to force yourself to remain calm when he pops the top off like it was nothing.
âLadies first,â he hands it back.
With pleasure, you think to yourself. Maybe getting drunk will help you stop acting like a schoolgirl. You take a generous drink, squeezing your eyes shut and breathing out slowly. âThat is strong.â
âHand it over.â He lets out a low whistle as soon as he swallows and returns it to you. âWow.â
âI actually had a dream like this once,â you say, wincing at the burn of the whiskey as it slides down your throat. âI was just laying there, staring at the stars, with no worries. It was so peaceful.â
Lando takes the bottle from your outstretched hand. âI donât dream.â
âWhat?!â The high pitch of your voice slices through the night. âAre you serious?â
âYup.â He takes a long sip from the bottle before placing it down in the space between you. âNever have.â
âThatâs- thatâs crazy.â You shake your head.
âIâd think itâs nicer that way, no?â he counters. âI probably sleep better than you.â
âI mean, I guess. But then you donât have any crazy dreams to share.â
âYou always remember your dreams?â
Now, you blush. Youâre not sure why youâre embarrassed. âI, um⊠I keep a journal.â
Landoâs eyes widen. âNo way.â
âI have dreams written down all the way back to 2015.â You confess, reaching for the bottle again.
He starts laughing, like he thinks youâre joking.
âIâm serious!â You exclaim, shoving his shoulder. âIn my defense, Iâve actually come up with some ideas from my dreams. Fat lot of good theyâre doing for me right now, butâŠâ
Lando hums, eyes skimming over your now crestfallen expression. He passes the bottle back.
âThanks,â you mumble, tilting the bottle up to your lips.
âIâm sure youâll find some type of inspiration while weâre out here.â
âI only have two days left, Lan.â
He gestures for you to pass the bottle back, and you do. You watch as he takes a sip, looking from his lips, to his jaw, to his neck, to his Adamâs apple that bobs as he swallows. Youâre really going to miss this view. He lets out a quiet hiss. âDamn, thatâs strong whiskey.â
âI told you.â
Thereâs a lull in the conversation, and then he speaks again. âMy ice machine got fixed.â
âThatâsââ
âLast week.â He cuts you off, doing that stupid thing he does where he stares directly into your eyes.
Your heart is in your throat, and your voice is small when you reply. âOkayâŠâ
âAnd I was supposed to leave three days ago.â
Now your jaw drops. âWhy⊠Why are you still here?â
âBecause youâre still here.â He answers evenly, the alcohol clearly working in his favor. âI initially came here for the same reason as youâ needed a change of scenery. Itâs summer break right now, and my friend Logan told me it was super nice up here. It is, but then I had my little mishap and⊠itâs been a lot better since you showed up. So I decided to stay a little longer.â
Heâs close to you now, so close you can smell the whiskey on his breath, so you say the only thing you can think to say. âI canât believe you fell out of a tree.â
âI canât believe you took care of me this whole time.â He brushes your hair out of your face, and his fingers linger on your cheek.
Your internal giddiness rises when you realize heâs actually about to kiss you. Your stomach is doing Olympic level gymnastics and you donât trust yourself to speak, so you let the whiskey do it for you: you kiss him first.
You canât remember the last time you kissed anyone, but the moment he pulls you on top of him you know that you wonât ever forget kissing him.
âLanâŠâ you break away from him to catch your breath, smoothing his curls back from his forehead. You can just see the glint in his eyes as he stares up at you, and itâs borderline painful knowing that you only get to enjoy this view for two more days.
You donât remember what you were going to say to him. Itâs way too soon for âI love you,â and not the right time to say âI already miss you.â You still want to say both.
Like he can hear your inner turmoil, he silences it by touching his forehead to yours. âKiss me again, please,â he whispers.
You donât waste a second in giving him what he wants, wanting nothing more in this moment than to feel his lips against yours again. Youâre careful to avoid his side as he lays back on the blanket, keeping a firm grip on your hips so you donât go anywhere. You try to convey everything you want to say into the kiss: Iâm pretty sure Iâm in love with you. I know Iâm going to miss you. Please donât let me go.
He holds you closer and gently slips his tongue into your mouth, and you melt into him, knowing the whole while that Lando Norris has effectively ruined all other men for you.
Six Months Later.
Your phone is ringing in the other room as youâre in the middle of recounting the kiss to your best friend for the millionth time.
âSorry, Iâll be right back,â you apologize. âIt might be important.â
Thinking itâs your editor, because who else would call you at this late hour, you donât look at the caller ID before you answer. âHi, listen, I wanted to talk to you aboutââ
âThe love interest falls out of a tree, huh?â
Your mouth falls open. âLando?â
âThat would be me. Or should I change my name to Darren?â
You roll your eyes, unable to stop yourself from smiling. âI thought you were never going to call me.â
Youâd finished your manuscript the day before you went home. Heâd been sleeping right next to you as you wrote the final words, and you shouldâve brought it up that morning. Instead, you left your number on his porch the day you left, too deep in overthinking mode to actually face him and properly say goodbye. You truly didnât expect him to call you after that act of such cowardice, especially after the two of you spent almost the entirety of your last days together at various levels of undress.
âI really wanted to,â he admits. âAt least ten different times. I think Oscar might have assaulted me if I chickened out this time.â
âYeah, because you wonât shut the hell up about her!â A voice in the background exclaims, and you hear something go flying.
âGet out!â Lando snaps, and you can hear Oscarâs laughter fading.
âSweet of you to subject him to hearing all about me.â
âCome to the race at Silverstone.â He says before you can even finish your sentence. âIâll pay for the flight, the hotel, everything. Just come.â
You feel like the floor just fell out from under your feet. âLanââ
âI canât stop thinking about you.â Itâs said in a nearly unintelligible whisper, but his tone changes so suddenly you have to sit down.
âI canât stop thinking about you either.â You confess. âThatâs⊠kind of why I wrote you into my book.â
âPlease, come to Silverstone,â he repeats, practically begging. âCome be with me.â
And when he finds you in the crowd after taking the win at his home race, and he wastes no time in wrapping his arms around your waist and pressing his lips to yours for everyone to see, youâre immediately taken back to those two weeks you spent in the Adirondacks, where you finally found the inspiration youâd been missing your entire life.
note: this one goes out to my fellow writers who desperately wish their inspiration would fall out of a treeâ writerâs block will never defeat us.

i heard your name [ii]
âi want you so, i can hardly let you go, please be mine for a time, now and foreverâ
===+++===
pairing: cairo sweet x reader
summary: after several weeks of trying to run in the opposite direction, you find you can no longer evade the magnetic pull yanking you towards her
warnings: explicit but gender neutral sexual content, being used both physically and emotionally, 'lover boy' is used ironic and is still considered gender neutral, implied teacher-student relationships
word count: 6.4k
A/N: definitely making another already because itâs kind of getting juicy. again inspired by pale fire and hot summer nights.
===+++===
You had always heard that people looked like their pets, but it had never occurred to you that someone could look like their house. Standing in front of Lovell Hill, it was impossible anyone else but Cairo Sweet lived there.
The building stood tall, with white towering ionic columns that reached to hold up the dark clay tile roofing like soft angelic hands lifted to the sky. Everything about the house was big, with a giant, wide cedar porch and a towering balcony that looked out over the small garden in front of its door.
You had figured Cairo was well off from her clothes and general overabundance of education, but this screamed a wealth so extreme it almost wasnât computing in your brain. Not with your own tawdry house that had only been built two years ago and was about the size of Cairoâs home if you sliced it by a quarter.
You had seen homes like these in movies or on the home improvement channels. Most motels had the home improvement channels on the TV, and you had watched with a sense of awe, sitting on the mouldy carpet late at night with your mom asleep behind you, looking at the muted tours of the homes with a private envy.
Such grandeur was incomprehensible and didnât exist beyond the screen and TV magic. Or, thatâs what you thought until you stood at the end of her garden, with all its greenery and a few lines of flowers, looking up at the front door.
It was quite the dilemma, to knock or not to knock. You could turn around right now, save yourself a whole bunch of sleepless nights and half a brain if you just told her you felt sick and had to cancel. Sheâd be annoyed, sure, but maybe Cairo being angry was better than Cairo being hungry.
You werenât all too sure you wouldnât try to satiate her hunger, and that was a dangerous game to play. Since she had sat down beside you in class, fleeting had been slowly drifting away, and you found yourself clutching onto what little of it you had left, rebuking the witchcraft that seemed to tug you to her.
You were about to do that, walk away, but then the door to the balcony swung open, and out Cairo came, leaning over the railing with a smile, and you felt your own heart clutch to your ribs. She propped her head up on her palm, peering down at you.
âAre you coming in?â She asked, laughing. âYouâve been standing there for ten minutes.â
âIâm just looking. At the landscaping,â you called up to her, and it was mostly true, though Cairo laughed like you were being funny. You felt a blush rising to your cheeks. Fleeting, you idiot.
âItâs my parentsâ house. I know itâs a bit much,â said Cairo, standing up straighter.
âA bit?â you said, the sarcasm worming its way into your voice. It was a lot much.
âYeah,â she replied, smiling at you again all bright. âA bit.â You smiled back, holding a hand up to cover your eyes so you could continue to stare at her on the balcony in the sun, like your own Juliet.
âCan I come inside?â You asked, taking a few steps forward into the shadow the roof of her house casted over the ground. Cairo seemed to find a playfulness with the question, and you were left there like a moron, wondering why she was laughing again.
âNo, actually,â she said. âI invited you here to make you walk over here and then walk home.â
âDid you."
âI did,â she nodded, having fun. âIâll be down in a minute when Iâm done with something; the front door is unlocked."
"That seems unsafe," you said.
She raised her eyebrows at you. "Why, are you worried for my safety?"
You shrugged, deciding neutrality was the best policy. There wasn't anything wrong with saying you were worried about her as a friend, but you knew she would draw some strange entendre. "I would worry about random people wandering in, to be honest."
Cairo shook her head. "Not here in Tennessee. Now go inside. The longer you stall me the longer it takes me to finish what I'm doing." With that, she disappeared back inside, leaving you on her porch. You swallowed the lump in your throat and went inside.
Cairo Sweet's house was much like her soul, in grandeur and in wealth. Even in the foyer, which was where you found yourself, the walls seemed to reach up much like the pillars, raised towards the covered sky. A grand staircase led up to the second floor, and with the soft closing of the door behind you, Cairo called out from up the stairs.
"You can go into the kitchen, I left some wine out on the counter."
You blinked. "Wine?" You said back, making sure you were hearing correctly. Cairo's laugh floated down from the second floor.
"Yes, 'wine.'" You had never had anything like wine before, though the way she threw it out so casually made you think she was no stranger to the concept.
The kitchen was the room right off to the left of the foyer, with a large bay window and some checkered ceramic tiling on the floor. In the centre sat an old gas range stove, a similar shade of green as the walls. The brass handle curved down to the drawer on the bottom, and it looked like a droll little mouth underneath the knobs.
On the white marbled countertop that boxed the stove in was a set of two glasses and a bottle of reddish wine that was three quarters full. The entire room was immaculately clean, with the perfectly angled chairs sitting around the nook table in the corner and the utterly spotless surfaces, both floor and table.
It looked just like those staged houses on the home improvement channels, and you wandered over to peer into the glass hutch, which was piled up with books in stacks around it. The top cabinet held an array of glassware, some of them gathering dust. They were pretty, and you leaned in to the ceramic ones with antique designs etched into the sides. You wanted to own dishes like those, someday.
"The plates are pretty, aren't they? Itâs a real shame about the led.â You spun around to find Cairo behind you. Your heart immediately started doing a backflip in your chest. Cairo was no longer in the soft shirt and shorts she had been wearing on her balconyâ no. Instead, she was now in a silky cream-coloured dress, one that clung to the curves of her body and hung elegantly from her shoulders in a way that made the tips of your ears warm.
She walked right up to you as if there was no difference, staring at the plate you had been looking at with what couldn't possibly be a genuine curiosity. Up close it was clear she had put on some makeup, her lips glossy and pink and her eyes dark. She had to know she was playing you like a fiddle.
You watched her in laser focus as she nodded at the plate. "My parents bought that one from a village in the Swiss Alps."
"What?" you mumbled, clever as always.
"The plate," she said, like it was obvious. "Most of the plates in there are from Switzerland or China."
"Oh...cool."
Cairo brushed past it, gesturing back to the bottle that sat on the counter. "Would you like some?" she asked, clasping her hands behind her back.
"But what would your parents say?" you asked. Mostly you were looking for any excuse not to, but you were also filled with curiosity. Cairo Sweet hadn't just fallen out of a coconut treeâ she was the product of whatever her parents were like and you desired to put two and two together, and for that to make it make sense.
"They're not here right now," she replied, walking right over to the bottle and pulling the cork straight out. You swallowed but followed her over, and Cairo grabbed a glass to pour it into.
"So you live here?" It was a genuine question, and part of you was still struggling to understand that this was just someone's everyday lifestyle. Cairo nodded.
"That's what Winnie asked me too, when she first saw it. People say my house is haunted."
"They do?"
"Yeah," she said. "Lovell Hill. It's famous, or at least around here it is."
"Well... is it true?"
Cairo shook her head. "Sorry to disappoint. Only thing that lives here is me."
"And your parents?"
Her mouth thinned into a line at the question, but she spoke quickly. "Yes, them too." Then Cairo held up a glass. "Would you like some?"
"Uh, no thanks. We should probably start on the assignment...," you trailed off. Cairo was staring you down with a certain glint in her eye. âWhat?â
"You've never drank before," she said. It wasn't a question, and you could feel heat going back to your face. To any other person, you'd have no problem saying no, but to her you felt your breath catch in your throat.
"Uh, I have, I just don't want any right now," you lied. And Cairo knew you were lying, judging from the smile she watched you with. But she only shrugged.
"You can have some of mine later, then," she said, straightening up and walking out of the kitchen. You followed her like a proper guest, like she was a tour guide helping you through the jungle. You warily tailed her out of there and up the stairs.
On the landing there were even more books, in large, towering stacks near the railing, ended on each side by potted plants and small floor decorations. You stopped, taking a thick paperback from off the top of one stack and turning it over to read the back. âHave you really read all of these?â You asked. Cairo turned.
âNot all of them, no. Most of them belong to my parents, so theyâre cheesy spy thrillers and soapy romances.â
You nodded. âMy mom reads those ones too.â
âAnyways, what do you read?â Cairo asked, walking over to you and taking the book from your hands to look at it herself. You shrugged.
âFor a while there, anything I could get my hands on.â
She tilted her head. "What do you mean?"
"Uh, just that my mother didn't take me to bookstores a lot," you said, having gotten comfortable with lying. In reality, you had mostly read travel books and magazines from gas stations, since those were really the only places you and your mother stopped often. You didn't start actually reading book-books until you were about ten, and your mom bought you a kindle for your birthday.
But giving Cairo the truth would mean telling her you were on the road a lot, which would mean telling her about why it was you moved so often, which would mean telling her you would probably be leaving soon, so you lied. It was typically a better idea to vanish without warning one day, off to another state like you had been one giant bad dream.
"Mm," she hummed it agreement, putting the book back down and leading the way into a door that stood at the far end of the hall. "My parents didn't either, when they realised I bought like ten or twelve at a time," she said, tugging you into her bedroom.
It was exactly like you could have imagined it, with a darker shade of green and ebony wainscoting that matched the grand bed in the middle of the room with fluffy, lush bedding and a near mountain of pillows in the centre.
"Well then," Cairo drawled. "Shall we?"
The smirk she was staring at you with sent a shiver down your spine. You gave her a cautious nod and pulled your backpack off of your back.
===+++===
You had your paper almost completely done within an hour of laying down on Cairo's bed to write it, though in the corner where Cairo sat typing hers, she seemed incredibly frustrated. You had only been observing her a little, watching her type what could've maybe been a few words and then immediately holding down the delete key until they were all gone.
You understood to a certain extentâ windows were so unbelievably symbolic it was possible to go in millions of directions when writing your story. But you were almost done, and inspiration had hit you from the moment you knew what your symbol was meant to be.
You put the final finishing sentences in where they were meant to go, and put down your pen, sitting up to crack your fingers and stretch your back. Cairo looked up at you, eyes glaring.
"You're finished?" Her tone was sharp, and you looked around the room in surprise.
"Yeah?" You replied. Cairo narrowed her eyes at you.
"How," she demanded sitting up in her chair and slamming her laptop shut.
You shrugged. "I don't know, I kind of rushed it anyhow."
"Let me read it, (Y/n)," Cairo said, holding her hand out. You leaned forwards and tossed the paper to her, rolling over onto your back to stare up at the ceiling while she read it. She had one of those popcorn roofs, with bumps all over it, and you found yourself tracing a little path in your mind.
"This is..." she said after a few minutes. You turned your head to look at her sideways. "This is really good," said Cairo, but in a way that made your eyebrows furrow.
"Why'd you say it like that?" you asked, sitting up from where you had been laying.
"Like what?" She asked standing up from her chair and walking towards you, to lean on one of the bedposts. You swallowed.
"I... don't know," you muttered.
"Hm," she hummed. "I have a question."
"Yeah?"
"The astronaut. The one who goes crazy in outer space from looking out the window on his solo mission. Is that supposed to be you?"
"Oh. No, he isn't. He's just a character I thought of," you shook your head. Cairo raised an eyebrow at you.
"But he is a lot like you, isn't he? Alone, I mean. That's why you lied to Winnie about lunch." She got you with that line. You stared at her, frowning. Your mind screamed LIE over and over, but you knew there was no point. Not when she was reading you like a book. She took another step towards you, until she was standing in between your legs where you sat. You hadn't realised there was any connection with the astronaut when you thought of him, but maybe he was?
"Are you lonely, (Y/n)?"
"No? I mean, I don't think I am." It came out in a whisper; you didn't need to speak loudly when Cairo was so close. You could feel her hot breath on your cheeks like a fan.
"I've been thinking of you, since you arrived," Cairo murmured. Her fingers crawled up your knee slowly, the pads of her fingers brushing the hem of your shorts. She looked down at the small space between you.
"Yeah?" You asked.
"You're captivating," she said. "It's annoying. Shrouded in mystery and answering to no one."
"Yeah?" Pink was flushing towards your cheeks.
She smiled, looking up at your face again. "Yeah. It would be less distracting if you didn't come with such nice eyes."
You swallowed. It felt like everywhere her fingers went she left behind a trail of pure fire, churning up your insides. Your mind was screaming at you to not be an idiot. You'd probably regret this in a month or two when your mom told you you would be leaving again. Stop, right now and save yourself so much sleep, you idiot. That would've been the smart thing to do.
Her hands came up slowly, skimming gently up your neck until they landed at the nape, and you were reminded of the lollipop she had plucked from your lips to place in her own for a moment.
"Cairo, what're we doing?" you managed. Cairo shrugged.
"You ask me that but I'm not entirely sure. I just know it feels nice," she whispered to you. "So shut up and let me feel nice," she said with a smile.
Within an instant, her lips pressed hard into your own. You pulled your head back in surprise but Cairo's soft palms held you firmly where you sat, and you found yourself melting at the feeling. It was messy and it wasn't graceful, but it spoke of the passion that bubbled under Cairo's removed exterior. She started to move against you then, and you against her.
You found yourself entranced at the sensation, and pulled away just to get a look at her face. She was breathing heavily, lips red and eyes wild, and you only came back wanting more, reconnecting the both of you, your hands moving to her waist and then up her back.
"Cairo..." you mumbled, her lips moving to your jaw and then hastily to your ear.
"Mm," she hummed.
"Cairo, I can't," you managed, trying to pull away but finding her still on you. Your mind was yelling at you horrible, horrible things, not only about yourself but about what you wanted to do to her.
"Mm," she sounded again, moving down your neck in a way that left you tingly.
"Really, I justâ"
"Take my hands off of you, then," she challenged, in between peppering kisses and sucking on a spot directly over your pulse. You shivered.
"I can't."
"Well, I guess we're at a crossroads," she said. Her right hand slid down your chest to the hem of your shirt, sliding gently underneath and laying itself flat against your stomach. She smirked when she reconnected your lips, knowing she was winning.
"This is a really bad idea."
"You talk too much."
"No, because this is really a conflict of interest. We're supposed to uh..." you stammered, getting distracted by he hand on your stomach slowly getting lower and lower, creeping towards the top of your shorts. "We're supposed read each other's stuff and be honest."
Cairo stopped, pulling away, raising her eyebrows at you. "Are you serious? You don't want to have sex with me âwhen you've been practically eye-fucking me since we metâ so that you can be an honest peer grader???"
"Well, when you say it like that, it sounds stupid."
"That's because it is stupid."
"Iâ I just can't do that with someone."
She scoffed. "Are you waiting until marriage or something?"
"No."
"Are you asexual?"
"No."
"Is it Winnie?"
"No."
"Do you like boys?"
"No!"
"Then why? I mean, come on. We both knew this would end one of two ways."
"We're better off as just classmates, trust me."
Cairo blinked at you for a moment, like you were the most confusing person she had ever met. Then she got up off of you. Your lap felt lighter, but also emptier, and you wanted to scream up at the stars for not being able to just indulge this one little desire.
"Fine," she said, and her tone caught you off guard. Most people would probably be upset or angry, but it just seemed like Cairo was challenged and endeared. Like she was going to work out your problem and get right back to this situation, only this time she'd get exactly as she wanted.
She wouldn't, you promised yourself. Never ever. The heartbreak wasn't worth it. Cairo checked her watch. "Could you come over tomorrow too? I'm not done with my story yet, and I want you to read it."
"Uh," you thought out loud. You didn't see why not. Maybe you wouldn't be lovers, but just innocent friends? You weren't so much a monster that you wouldn't be able to stop yourself if you hung out with her. Innocent friends were much easier to forget anyways. "Sure," you said, unknowingly giving her exactly what she wanted.
===+++===
You had gone to her house almost every night for the past week, laying on her bed while she sat in the corner in the same familiar chair, typing the same bloody story that she refused to be satisfied with. It was becoming a pattern, even an unconscious one. The next day had been entirely as awkward as expected, with you trying to act as unbothered as possible.
The friendship was going better than you had anticipated, and you were very pleased with your own self restraint. Winnie had come over too, once or twice, and you enjoyed existing within the context but still on the periphery of a friendship.
Cairo Sweet would hunt you down as her friend or as her whatever-you-were, so you figured giving into one would be the path of least resistance anyhow.
She must have been an insanely picky writer. She wrote every word with an overabundant caution, like she was trying so hard to craft perfection. It was like she wanted her keyboard to drip liquid gold onto the page, and the critics to all collectively clap when she finished a sentence.
"You're like George R. R. Martin with how slow you finish a story," you had said once, out of the blue. Cairo looked up at you, offended, and thrown a pillow in your direction that connected with your face.
"I'm trying to cultivate perfection of the written word," she said, and you rolled your eyes.
"God, writers are so pretentious," you wrinkled your nose. "The only people who like to read annoying writers' books are annoying people."
Cairo scoffed. "Yeah, what, you want to be surrounded by James Bond fans? Stephen King fanboys?"
"That's cool, though," you shrugged. "Gets the point across, isn't badly written, and makes a sometimes beautiful passage along the way."
"Oh, so your writing," she joked, smiling at you. It was an innocent smile, and one that so starkly contrasted the lustful one she had looked at you with only a few days ago. Even in memory, her eyes sent a shiver up your spine.
"Yeah, well, people seem to like it. I guess Iâm doing something right," you said. Cairo frowned.
"I don't get it," she shook her head. "And you still won't let me read that first one you wrote."
"It's not exactly something I want to talk about to you."
"Why? Is it bad?" she asked, sitting up straight. You knew she meant 'tell me your dirty secrets' by that.
"I just don't want to."
"Hm," she grumbled, laying back in the chair. "And anyways, if what you say about that thing is true, I don't know why Miller liked it. His book is full of the flowery stuff you complain about."
"He wrote a book???" You were incredulous.
Cairo nodded. "A while ago. Apostrophes and Ampersands."
"Never heard of it."
Cairo shrugged. "It didn't exactly make massive waves. It was ingenious though. Grand and tragic."
"You read it then?" You asked, sitting up and turning towards her.
"Yes, I did," she replied nonchalantly. "I enjoyed it."
You looked out the window for a moment, then back to her. Friends should be friends. "Can I borrow your copy?"
===+++===
"God," you groaned, reading Mr. Miller's book with it held over your head, laying on your back. Cairo had given it to you two days ago and now you were slogging through it, waiting for it to get interesting. "'Human ruins of a madman's love,'" you mocked.
"It's gorgeous," Cairo said. She wasn't in her usual chair, she was sitting by the window with it cracked open, a cigarette in her hand.
"It's notâ wait, are you smoking?" You asked, sitting up. Cairo rolled her eyes, grinning at you.
"No, I'm just sitting here with a cigarette lit in my fingers."
"God. Wine and a cigarette, what are you, thirty-four."
"Shut up," she said, putting the cigarette in between her lips and puffing out the window. "And anyways that quote is beautiful."
"Maybe," you challenged. "But what is it actually saying?"
"She means everything to him and he's going crazy for her," Cairo said, like it was obvious. You nodded.
"That's the thought and THAT'S what's good there. That's universal. He's losing the plotâ getting lost in the sauceâ of trying to sound like he's saying something, to the point where he's losing the entire meat of the message."
"Maybe," said Cairo. "But you said one of your books was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Not exactly the height of literature."
"And I stand by that," You said. "That's actually enjoyable. You don't enjoy reading this, you enjoy being clever enough to read this, when it's saying something you've heard a million times in a million more decipherable ways. And those ways end up being more beautiful, too.â
"Perhaps," she said. "Or maybe I think the writing is beautiful."
"Well then, I think you're crazy."
"You're welcome to do that," Cairo replied, smile still wide. "You probably will."
===+++===
You managed not to cave until a warmer day, about a week after that. Cairo Sweet had previously been a sweet exterior with absolutely nothing on the inside for you to feel a deep pull towards. Only now, after slowly becoming comfortable, was the magnetic pull becoming physically painful.
Winnie had been absolutely beside herself, miffed at Cairo coming down and swiping you for herself. For a friend or for something more, it didn't matter. You were indisputably hers. And after a life of belonging to no one, you thought maybe Cairo took some sort of glee over making you belong to her.
Class was boring, Mr. Miller was fine, your mom seemed to be doing better, and school seemed to drone on. So when you came back to Cairo's house like normal, you were entirely unaware of how quickly you would fail your mission.
You were barely in door before she was running down the stairs, and the look of worry and surprise in your face only worsened when she got so up close to you, just for a second, and then just as hungry and hurriedly as before, kissed you with a brutal ferocity.
You were taken aback. Something was off. You pulled your head away and Cairo's palms pressed to your cheeks, thumbs brushing against the side of your face. She pulled you back and you had to turn your head away. "Cairo, whatâ"
"Shut up for once, please. Just kiss me the way a girl wants to be kissed."
You could feel every neuron telling you to get away from her. This was exactly what you had said you didn't want. And then there was the other side of you. The one that wanted to take her right then and then. You swallowed.
"I can't do these kinds of connections, Cairo. I told you."
"That's fine," Cairo rushed, her hand resting on your shoulder blade now. "I need one thing from you, and that's it. I don't ask for much, but I really need this."
Your eyebrows furrowed at her. "What are you talking about?"
"You've said you don't want anything, and okay, thatâs fine. At least give me your body for the night. No strings attached.â
You blinked. âWhat?â
âI donât owe you anything, you donât owe me. We just do whatever this is. You make me feel good, and thatâs it.â Her fingers had slithered back up to your hair, scratching gently at your scalp in a way that pulled your focus.
It just took a final glance at her face, for the dam to break. Her cheeks were a dusty red, eyes dilated and staring at you, and though you cursed yourself and your idiot Cro-Magnon mind, your palms went to her legs, tugging her up harshly and wrapping her legs around your waist.
âShit,â you muttered, highly aware this was probably a bad idea. Cairo wrapped her arms around your neck, kissing you with a smile, and then once that broke, a passionate fervour. It was so much but it was so good. You carried her like that, up the stairs to her room, throwing her down on the bed.
She flipped you over, sitting on your lap like she had been back when the both of you first tried this, and it was all too intoxicating. Cairoâs hands went to your shoulders, pushing you back against the mattress before she leaned over, kissing you softly for a moment until it grew into more.
âWaitââ You said, and Cairo sat up, glaring at you.
âYou did not get me all the way up here just to back out now,â said Cairo, annoyed beyond belief. You shook your head, tugging her back onto you. Her hair fell around you like a shield to your little private moment.
âIâm not backing out,â you promised, whispering because you felt like you didnât want to be too loud. âI mean Iâve never ⊠before.â
Cairo smiled at you, looking into your eyes for a moment. âMe neither,â she whispered back.
âReally?â you asked. Cairo raised her eyebrows.
âFuck you.â
âNo,â you shook your head, hand reaching up to move some of her hair out of her face. That wasnât how you meant it. ââŠReally?â
She paused, eyes boring into yours. Then she gently nodded, and lowered herself down onto you, placing her lips on yours for another divine moment. It was all too hot in there. She let out a gasp when you tugged down her skirt.
===+++===
It was about five weeks after you had arrived, and you had gone to Cairo's house almost every week day, to continue exactly what had latched around your throat and tugged you harshly towards her.
There, in the milky white lighting of Cairo's table lamp, with her body snugly laying back against you and her book out in front of her, you fell in love for the first time. Really, fell in love.
Not the kind of "love" that swirls around your head as a child and wraps around the leg of the pretty girl in your class who has shiny hair. That kind of âloveâ where you can't get out a real sentence while talking to her. In comparison to the heavy feeling growing in your chest like a tumour, that was a mild liking.
No, this was the real thing. Adults had always said cryptic things about love, like "when you know, you'll know," and it hadn't ever really made sense, until it did.
As you looked down to watch her nose scrunch from the Nabokov, those three little words took on a whole new meaning. Her dark hair tickled the bare skin of your chest where she laid. Unlike her you still hadn't put your shirt back on, and you shivered a bit, even from under her blanket and her body heat. Her eyes, dark and focused, scanned across the paper, before elegantly flipping past the page with her thumb.
It was one of those renaissance paintings people cried for, in the Louvre, only it was playing out right in front of your eyes. And with that sudden rush of messy emotion, came the dastardly realisation that you were truly fucked.
"You're staring," she said, pulling you from your thoughts. She looked up at you, curious eyes focusing on your own. "What're you staring for?"
You shrugged, the movement shaking her against you. "What's the book you're reading?" You asked. "You seem mad at it."
She hummed, leaving her finger as a bookmark and flipping the cover towards you. The cover read Pale Fire. "That's because it's mostly incoherent rambling," she said. "Makes no sense."
You raised your eyebrows at her. "You don't understand Pale Fire?"
She tilted her head back, challenging you. âAnd you do?" You nodded. You had written a report during the two months you were in Maine. "Of course you do,â Cairo groaned, rolling her eyes.
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â You asked.
Cairo shook her head, patting the side of your leg with her free hand. âNothing.â
You sat up. âNo, seriously. What do you mean?â
She sighed, closing the book around her index finger to hold her page. Cairo shut her eyes for a second, choosing her words carefully. âI mean... youâre annoyingly clever at something you donât really care about.â
You laughed. "Careful, Sweet. If I didn't know any better I'd say you're jealous."
"Well, I am," said Cairo. "I care about writing so much, and here you come along with literally no passion for it, and you're out-writing me."
"Uh, sorry?" You said with a smile. But the frown you saw on her face told you she wasn't really joking. Cairo scoffed, sitting up and turning towards you.
"No, I'm serious. You barely even try and you spill some amazing few paragraphs, and Mr. Miller loves you like you're his favourite student," she lamented, throwing her hands up in frustration.
"I promise," you sighed, "that I really don't mean to. I don't get it either, soâ"
"âSee, but that's what's so frustrating!" She cut you off. "You don't mean to. You don't mean to get in my way, but you do because you're so unbelievably perfect at everything, and Mr. Miller loves you so much."
"Okay, wait a minute," you said. "That's not fair."
"What's 'not fair' is me working my ass off until senior year to get to do what I've ALWAYS wanted to do, WRITE, and then you come along and pull all the praise and probably the recommendation letter too!"
You sat there for a moment, taking her words in, your mouth open in surprise. There had always been an inkling that Cairo was unhappy with having you in her class, but you had drowned the thought out with her lips on yours and treasuring every moment you made her smile with something stupid you said.
You cleared your throat and Cairo was already apologising. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that," she said, reaching towards you. "It's just so important to me, I get really worked up..."
"It's fine," you rushed. You knew people screamed and said nasty stuff when they were mad. It's just how people were, and it made sense to you. Your mom was like that too, with the yelling and stuff. "Do you..." you mumbled, trying to figure out how to solve her problem. "Do you want me to stop trying?" You asked.
Cairo's eyes lit up within an instant at the idea. "That would be amazing," she breathed. "Thank you so much." She reached across the space between you, kissing with a softness that hadn't previously been there. It was sweet, just like she was, and you breathed a sigh of relief, with the confrontation being over.
You nodded. "Sure." Then your gaze went out the window, realising the sun was starting to set and rain clouds were starting to form. Your hand flew to your leg, having forgotten you were only in your underwear.
"You left it downstairs, remember?" Cairo said, almost playful. When the two of you had gotten to her house, her lips had been so firmly ravaging your neck that your pants hadn't even made it up the stairs before she tugged them off and flung them to the marble bust that stood nearby. You sighed.
"Do you know what time it is?" You asked, getting up from the bed and around to the other side to pick your shirt up off the floor. Cairo also got up, throwing the sheets off herself and walking right over to her closet.
"No, I left my phone at school on accident," she replied, opening the door and flicking through the hangers. You pulled the shirt on over your head and fixed the soft collar. On the opposite side of the room, Cairo pulled out the same cream-coloured dress she had been wearing when you first came to study with her. You paused.
"You're getting all fancy?" You asked, turning to her floor mirror and attempting to fix your absolutely messy hair in a way that it wouldn't be clear Cairo had run her hands through it and gripped on tight.
"Mhm," Cairo said. "Having a guest over tonight."
"Oh. They work with your parents or something?" You said, turning to watch her with curiosity over her answer. Cairo pulled off her shirt so that she was now completely naked. She turned back to you with a smile.
"Do you like what you see?" said Cairo, and it made you blush a bit. You nodded.
"You're absolutely beautiful," you said. If you weren't worried about getting home before dinner, you would have walked right over to her and tugged her back into her bed. Cairo waved you off.
"You're too kind," she said. "Now run on home, lover boy." Cairo disappeared into the bathroom with the dress in her hand, and you heard her rustling around with the sink, probably doing her makeup.
"I... I guess I'll see you, then," you said, left alone in the room.
"Mhm," she called from the bathroom. You frowned, but did a final scan for anything you needed to take before heading out her bedroom door and down the stairs, to where your jeans were clumsily thrown over the Roman statue's head. You tugged your phone and keys from the pocket.
"Fuck," you cursed. Only around thirty minutes to get the whole way across town to your house before your mom started worrying. You walked right over to the door... only to find it was also pouring down rain, now. Dammit. You tugged on your jacket from where it had been hanging on a steel coatrack by the door, pulling the hood up.
You walked out onto the porch, shut the door behind you, and took off running, going as fast as you could down the garden and then up the street into the woods. You got about a hundred metres from her house, that was, until you stopped.
Driving right past you, barely able to see him in the storm, was Mr. Miller. Driving right to Cairo's house in his little sedan. You froze, stopping dead in the rain to watch him go. Even after his license plate retreated in the distance, you felt a sickening sense of dread begin to pool in your gut, one that was already tarnishing your prior bliss.

Masterlist ⥠Top Gun Masterlist
Jake doesnât pay much attention when youâre first introduced with the rest of the eggheads from the Office of Naval Research. Another one of many civilian engineers working on the new plane heâs been assigned to test. You keep things professional and polite although he can tell you find him attractive. Itâs written all over your face and demeanor. Youâre not the only one, several of the other engineers canât seem to string together a full sentence around him.Â
Youâre pretty, he can admit that much to himself, but a sweet face has never been enough on its own to hold his interest. Especially when heâs here to do a job, one he takes very seriously. The chance to be the first to fly the latest prototype jet isnât an opportunity that comes up often. He volunteered immediately for the assignment when it came up, beating out most of his Top Gun class for the honor.
What he doesnât bank on is having to sit through mind numbingly boring briefings and listen to the engineers argue anytime the tiniest adjustment is made. Most of his exposure to you is during these meetings but the first time you talk to him one on one is four weeks into the project.
Thatâs when he notices your particularâŠ.quirk. Youâre following him out after the morning briefing, yammering away about the new wing design specs. Heâs read your report in detail and already familiarized himself with the changes.Â
All Jake wants is a moment of silence to mentally prepare himself for today's test but you keep talking. It doesnât help that heâs got the beginning of a headache forming behind his eyes and youâre oblivious to his attempts to cut the conversation short. Â
âI got it. I know how to fly a plane,â he tells you.Â
âLieutenant Seresin,â you start but he cuts you off with a look.Â
âIâve read your briefing packet, top to bottom. It was extremely thorough. If I have questions youâll be the first person I ask. Scoutâs honor,â he adds, giving you a sloppy half salute that seems to confuse you for a moment before you start talking again.Â
âI just want to make sure-â you begin and Jake sighs, annoyed.
âI got it. Now go sit down,â he tells you curtly.Â
You step back back, brows raised. Jake almost misses the way your pupils dilate and your lips part just so.Â
"I'm sorry, Sir," you reply. "I..."You stammer and tug at the hem of your shirt before hurrying to take a seat.Â
You watch him from behind the computer bank as he climbs into the cockpit and fiddles with the controls. He can feel you watching him as he puts his helmet on. Itâs clear to him that you want his approval, even if you donât realize it.
Fuck, that paired with the âsirâ and the delicious little waver in your voice spikes his interest. He waits until youâre practically squirming in your chair before he gives you a nod. Your response is immediate, shoulders dropping and the tense lines on your face easing.Â
Itâs not just that he makes you nervous, heâs seen that plenty of times before. No, this is different. Special. You liked it when he barked an order at you.Â
â
Over the next few weeks, he watches you closely, taking note of your responses to everyone you interact with. Itâs clear you crave praise from others, perking up under any compliment you receive and deflating under criticism. However, itâs your response to authority that interests him most. Youâve got a natural inclination to listen to orders but as far as Jake can tell heâs the only one who elicits that type of reaction from you.
Each encounter he has with you is a chance to test the theory he has. He catalogs the difference in your responses; when heâs softer in his requests versus an outright order. Jake sees how quickly you obey a demand to sit next to him at the next briefing, just so he can be close to you. The speed you produce a new report just for him is a powerful thing. He especially loves the way you blossom under his praise when he compliments changes you've made to improve performance.
Youâre smart, undeterred when the men in the room try to speak over you. Even though youâre quiet-natured, youâre no pushover either. He respects your determination and hard work.
The most telling moment is one afternoon when youâre loitering on the edge of the hanger as he finishes up his conversation with the flight chief. Itâs clear you need to speak to him. The fact that you wonât interrupt him is just a bonusâ something he knows from experience will translate well in the bedroom.Â
âCome here,â he commands, crooking a finger at you. He doesnât even have to raise his voice to have you scurrying to him. You touch your chest and fiddle with the locket you wear, twisting the thin gold chair around your index finger. Jakeâs not sure if heâs just gotten better at clocking your reactions or youâre extra affected today but whatever the reason, heâs enjoying the show.Â
âWhat do you need?â He asks.Â
âFor you to sign the report,â you tell him, opening the folder and pointing to the highlighted portion.Â
When he takes the pen from you he makes sure to drag his fingertips over the back of your hand, watching for your reaction behind his aviators. The soft sound that passes your lips doesn't disappoint him. He thinks about what other sounds he could drag out of you. How he could get you desperate enough to beg him to fuck you. The way youâd sigh his name and -
âSir?â Your soft voice snaps him out of his little daydream. Youâre staring up at him expectantly. âI need my pen back, please.â
When he hands it back, you smile. It makes him long to pull you against him and kiss you breathless. To test out the limits of how well youâd listen to him but he knows he has to wait until the project is over. Heâs not about to jeopardize either of your careers though as the weeks drag on he certainly finds himself fantasizing about that.Â
Youâve caught him staring at during the morning briefings once or twice, his chin resting on steepled fingers. Itâs always the same response from you, the double blink and glance away. Sometimes youâll bite your lips and fiddle with the pencil, tapping it in rapid succession against the table. He can feel your eyes on him too and he has to repress a smirk. These morning briefings are starting to become his favorite part of the day.Â
â
Two torturous months pass before the admiral visits and the project gets wrapped up. He has some innocent fun with you during that time, nothing overly mean, just enough to get you flustered and stoke the flame. His favorite form of foreplay.
The team celebrates at the Hard Deck. Alcohol flows freely and spirits are high. It turns out engineers partied harder than pilots. You only have a drink which bodes well for Jake. He needs you sober for this and wants a clear head of his own, nursing a single beer most of the night.
While he waits for an opportunity to get you alone he formulates how he wants to approach this. He doesnât doubt his assessment. Heâs rarely wrong about these things but itâs always possible youâre not completely aware of your quirk. If he embarrassed or frightened you all his waiting would be for nothing.Â
After another hour or so he senses his chance. You head outside to take a quick call and Jake follows. He waits at a safe distance to give you some privacy but once you slide the phone back into your jacket he makes his presence known.Â
âLieutenant Seresin,â you greet. You look surprised to see him but pleased too.Â
âItâs Jake,â he corrects, stepping toward you.Â
When he presses into your space you take a half step back and then another, letting him herd you into a little alcove out of sight. You watch him curiously, maybe even a little confused. Youâre not scared to be alone with him âyou trust him. Â
âWhatâs up?â Youâre trying for casual but failing adorably.Â
Jakeâs close enough to touch you, but refrains from it. He wonât until he has your permission and understanding. He smirks and tits his head. A direct approach might be quicker but heâs curious if youâll figure it out on your own.
 âI know your secret, sweetheart,â he whispers.Â
That gets you going. You donât seem to know where to put your hands. Nervous laughter comes next but Jake stays quiet, letting you squirm a little longer.Â
âMy secret?â You question.Â
âItâs compatible with mine,â he hints.Â
You frown, forehead wrinkling. He recognizes the expression from countless morning briefings when you were contemplating a problem. Itâs cute watching your brain work in real-time to put the pieces together. A full minute passes before your eyes dart back to his face, surprised.
He nods encouragingly and then very hesitantly you say, âIs that so, sir?â
Thereâs a heavy emphasis on the last word.Â
âSmart girl,â he praises.Â
You grin and rock back on your heels. âWell, I did design the aircraft youâve been flying the last four months,â you shoot back.Â
He can see the struggle it is for you not to smile. Youâre proud of your work and should be but he canât have you mouthing off already.Â
âDonât get smart with me,â he warns playfully, loving the way you immediately duck your head.Â
âSorry, sir.âÂ
You sound appropriately contrite and he smirks.Â
âLook at me.â Two fingers under your chin encourage you to meet his gaze. âI want you to be honest,â he begins, watching carefully for any sign youâre not on the same page as him. âDo you want to do this?â
âDo you meanâŠyou mean sex, right?â You ask, looking a little unsure.Â
Youâre so sweet that Jake slips character briefly to give you the soft smile you deserve. âSex and more,â he confirms. âI can help you explore this side of yourself.â
âYeah. I want that,â you tell him shyly.Â
âThatâs good to hear, but thatâs not how you talk to me, and I think you know it.â
âI want you to teach me, sir,â you respond.Â
âBetter,â he praises.
He slides a hand up your jaw to grasp the back of your neck and angle your face upward so he can crush his lips against yours. He closes the distance between your bodies, pressing you back into the wall with a groan. You make a desperate little sound that goes right to his dick and grasp his biceps tightly.Â
You part your lips and fuck, heâs finally tasting you fully like heâs been imagining. He loves how soft and warm you are in his arms and the way his lips slide against yours. All of his pent-up desire is out now. The hand at your hip slides down the curve of your ass to grasp your thigh so he can grind shamelessly against you. You whimper, nails pressing into his skin. He rocks his half-hard cock into the warmest part of you, needing more friction. He wants to hear you make that little sound again too.Â
âOh, please,â you gasp when you finally part.Â
You sound wrecked and he thinks you look it too.The skin of your face is warm to the touch and your eyes are a little glassy. Jake's half convinced you might let him have you here and for a moment he actually considers it. He knows how good that kind of messy, quick fuck can be but tonight he wants to see all of you. To spend his time taking you apart until youâre incoherent and at his mercy. He canât do that here.Â
âEasy,â Jake whispers, running a hand down your back. âLook at me,â he instructs, smiling when you do. Youâre trembling all over and he rubs his thumb over your swollen lips as he gazes down at you. âCatch your breath.â
Once youâre calm he lets go of you and runs a hand through his hair. Youâre watching him, waiting to be told what to do. âGo inside, say goodbye to your friends. Then I want you to meet me out front. Got it?â
You nod and he surges forward to kiss you one more time before stepping back to let you past him.Â
Fuck, tonight is going to be good he thought.Â

help okay i hope this isn't too soon but im back and i have a thirst. So basically ive been thinking about like di leon and where hes been gone on a mission for a week and when he finally comes home he has like paper work or like something on the computer and reader is just like sitting at his feet with her head in his lap while he works and she starts getting super impatient while hes on a work call and starts to act bratty and whine and stuff and then starts to suck him off and so when he hangs up he pulls her over his knee and punishes her and then they fuck. I was hoping you could put like daddy kink cuz you write it so good i love it and you can add whatever else you think fits. Hope this wasn't too much im sorry if it was.
heyyy :) so i have a fic with a kind of similar premise for leon and thirsts are usually just little blurbs to me, so i'm just gonna write part of this but thank you for the ask. i do love the idea of doing it while on the flip phone <3
leon kennedy x fem!reader cw: nsfw (18+), smut, blowjob, daddy kink, sort of exhibitionism
The entire desk shakes as Leon's phone chimes with the notification that someone is trying to reach him. For such a small device, it sure had a lot of vibration power.
Normally, he'd just reach over and grab it. Flip open the small cellphone, scan the caller ID, and hold it to his ear with his obligatory "Kennedy speaking."
But right now, he hesitates. He hesitates because you're beneath his desk. You'd managed to tug his pants loose and worm your fingers around his length. Your hand strokes him slowly, moving up and down as you look up at him with those alluring eyes of yours.
He'd been away on a mission for a few weeks, and as expected, your ache for him had grown strong. It would be easy to just brush your hands off and send you away till he finished working at his desk, but he had missed you too. He found it sweet, your need to be attached to him after some time apart. The only thing worse than having to leave you for so long would watching those pretty eyes fill with the sting of rejection.
"Be good while daddy's on the phone," he says quietly, as if he already had the other person on the line, "If you get me in trouble, I promise you your ass is gonna get it tenfold."
You nod in a display of your obedience, as if he was a fool to question you at all.
With your small reassurance, he grabs his phone and whips it open. Chris Redfield. Ok, so at least there was a chance it wouldn't be something too serious.
"Hey, man," he says as he brings it to his ear.
From your place on the ground, you can hear the muffled sound of his friend's voice. It's of no concern to you though. You rest your cheek on his thigh while your eyes stay locked on his cock held between your digits. You stroke it up and down, watching the flushed appendage with adoration.
Above you, he mumbles "mhm's" and "oh yeah, for sure's.â You donât pay much attention beyond those brief affirmations. All you can think is how bad you want it in your mouth. It just looks so good, and it's been too long since you've had it.
But you shouldn't, right? He told you to be good. But this would feel so good for both of you. It seems like a win-win from your perspective.
"Yeah, that's bullshit. I don't blame you I would've done the- fuck," Leon says, getting cut off by his own hissed expletive as your lips engulf the tip of his dick.
You hear a muffled response on the other end, but you don't look up to see your boyfriend's reaction. Instead, you work his shaft deeper into your mouth.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry. Got a cramp in my leg. I get 'em bad after assignments," he mutters.
His hand comes to rest on the back of your head, so clearly, he wasn't too displeased with what you were doing down there.
You brace yourself on his thighs, pads of your fingers digging into the meat of his legs. Rising and falling, your head bobs. You coat the flushed skin with your saliva, letting it dribble from your mouth down to his balls.
His teeth dig into his bottom lip as he wrestles with the desire to moan. Poor Chris on the other side of this call. Not a word he said was taking root in Leon's brain. The short responses were even more half-hearted than before.
"I'm listening. Sorry, I was just... preoccupied when you called, y'know?" you hear him mumble.
You swirl your tongue over the ridge and pull off to lap at more of him. Your hand strokes what your mouth can't cover. You know all his favorite tricks, and you're putting each one to use right now.
Leon runs a hand through his hair, a bit of sweat beginning to break out across his forehead. His eyes flutter, and he closes them as if that would make it easier to stave off the impending explosion of ecstasy. A soft grunt comes from him, one he's hoping isn't loud enough to raise suspicion.
"What? Yeah, she's home right now... I don't know where she is. She's... doing something around here," he responds to Chris asking about you.
A laugh rumbles through the phone. Chris says something along the lines of "you're something else."
"What?" Leon defends, "I swear I'm listening I just-"
He has to stop talking then and there. If he kept going, his words would've morphed into one of the most humiliating whines heard by him, you, and Chris. He couldn't have that. When he recovers, his next words come rushing out.
"I just gotta call you back. Give me about an hour," he says, not waiting for a reply before clapping the phone shut.
His hips buck upwards, and both of his hands land on your head, making you take all of it. You gag a little, but he doesn't lighten up.
"No, no, baby. You wanted daddy so bad. You're gonna take all of me now. No whining," he chides through a clenched jaw.
Your eyes water. You tough it out though and let him fuck your throat till you feel that familiar pulse on your tongue. He lets go down your throat, spilling himself into the warmth of your mouth with a groan. His body slumps into the chair as he rides it out. Only when he's done does he finally let you go.
You pull back and recede onto your haunches, catching your breath. As air refills your lungs, things seem clearer. The moment of relief only lasts a short while though. Seconds later your being pulled up and slung across his lap.
A pout graces your lips as you look up at him.
"Ah ah. Don't look at me like that. What'd I tell you?" he says, already rubbing your ass in preparation for the spanking you're about to get.
"But you didn't get in trouble!" you protest.
"You didn't know that when you pulled that stunt though, so you still are," he teases before landing a firm swat on your ass.
The first of many to come.

Part 1 | Part 2
BEBE! Bada Lee x F Reader: You've always been known as the smartest student in school, while Bada was known as the campus heartthrob and player. She decides to take advantage of her situation, but puts your heart on the line along with her passing grade.
Word Count: 9.2k
TW: Slight self harm
Note: This is the longest fic I've written so farđźâđš. I felt so evil writing this, but I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THE ANGSTđ. ALSO, please check out my new rule. If not, it just warns blogs with no pfps and reblogs. I have a high chance of soft-blocking you, as I may get shadowbanned bc Tumblr can't defer you from bots.
Character Vision Board
You were never one to gain any attention from anyone. Frankly, you liked it that way.
Known as the most reserved yet nerdiest student in school, you were never called by your name. How could anyone put a name to your face when no one knew what it was. People had only given you the title of top student in university.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bcdfeaedac88ba9bb3fd0b6a166ea7e8/7b08f7380c32b386-0a/s540x810/9e179d2f4344d2a92fe70cdae86f8360c3b4e92c.jpg)

Most people knew of your existence, but by always wearing your oversized hoodie over your head, glasses, and mask, you kept your identity a secret amongst your peers. You survived high school like this, so being in your final year of university and still being able to maintain it was a breeze.
It was a regular Monday morning, and you sat in the library before classes, trying to freshen up on your Physics lesson yesterday. You woke up at 6 a.m. to get ready, showered, and ate breakfast with an energy drink before heading out to the library. That was your daily routine, the loner lifestyle, if you will.
As you typed away on your computer, the buzz of other students started coming in waves at 9 a.m., hitting the clock. That meant it was time to head to your first class. After multiple hours of classes, hand-cramping notes, and sitting in the back of every subject, you headed to your favorite class, computer science. For some reason, your brain was highly advanced in this area, making it enjoyable.
30 minutes go by, and just sitting in the back of the class, a tall, nonchalant figure walks in. You visibly see your teacher's face contort as she rolls her eyes at the student. The notorious Bada Lee came in late once again. You believed she began to do it on purpose at this point, as she stopped giving excuses for her tardiness by the second week.
The thought certainly loitered in the back of your mind. You never understood why Bada was the way she was. This was one of the few classes with several options, so if you wanted to avoid taking it, you had multiple other choices. Yet, even being late every day, she showed up and did the work.
Maybe not to the best of her abilities, but she still did it.
There were a few things to note about Bada. She was captain of the school's basketball team and had a distasting reputation. The campus player and heartbreaker. It felt as though, every week, there was new drama surrounding a girl whose heart got broken by the tall student, and it always made you want to roll your eyes every single time. Never understanding why these girls chased and chased, even when knowing their situationships wouldn't be the way it was from their fantasies.
Nearing the end of the class, everyone was getting ready to leave, but the Professor stopped anyone from going further. "Before you leave, I want to discuss the upcoming midterm project."
She pulls up the presentation on the board and explains, "This project requires you to make an updated website for the school. The requirements will be posted online by the end of the day, and I will assign you a partner for this. The highest grade will have their website be used as the new official website for our school. This will be due a month from now."
Everyone becomes surprised and happy at the prize for their upcoming trials. Your professor begins to list the names, and she gets to you, "Baek Y/n... and Bada Lee." Your heart sank instantly at those words.
You grumble with your head down. Out of all the people in the class, you got stuck with the one who'd rather mess with a girl at any chance she had.Â
Bada sits in her seat, brows furrowed. Who the fuck was Baek Y/n?
Bada knew almost everyone, but she'd never heard of that name. That's when the Professor lets everyone go, and she sees a girl walk up to the teacher. You wore the gigantic hoodie, and Bada couldn't see your face, but with all the gestures you gave your teacher, you seemed like you weren't pleased about something. When she hears you huff in annoyance, and your eyes meet hers while leaving, she sees anger bubbling behind them.Â
Bada gets up, confused, and heads over to the teacher. "Professor Min, who was that?"
"That was your partner Baek Y/n. You've heard of the top student before, right?" Her eyes double at the older man's words, and her face becomes extremely happy. She would undoubtedly be using this to her advantage.
"Now, don't think of trying to get the girl to do all the work, Bada. I'm allowing you to bring up your grade with this project." She nods furiously before heading out to tell her friends the news.
She sees them over at their school's common room, and her friends, Aiki, Noze, Lee Jung, and Emma, give her weird looks like Bada grew three heads. "Now, why is she cheesing now?" Aiki asks, and the taller girl replies with a smack to her arm.
"You guys won't believe who my partner is for my computer science project."
The four girls looked at each other and began naming several popular girls. Bada rolls her eyes at her friend's antics. "Well, you wanna tell us? We named like half the girls already." Noze says.
"Baek Y/n."
...
"Baek, who now?" Lee Jung looks at her in amusement, but your title shocks them, "Top Student." Their eyes grow wide. The group looked around the room to see if they could find you. "Her name is Baek Y/n?" Emma confirms, "She's in my class, so I'm pretty sure that's her name."
"Well, if you don't ace that project, she must hate you." Lee Jung jokes, making Bada think, "Truth be told, she didn't seem too happy about being my partner either."
"We wouldn't be happy either." "Can't blame her."
They kid around, but Aiki tells the girl, "You better stay on her good side. I'm sure if you don't do the work, she'll find a way to ensure you don't have a shared grade." "True, she's always been partnered with smarter kids, so she's never had an issue, but knowing you? Youâre gonna need to play nice girl this time, Bada."
Bada scoffs at Emma's words, "She'll do the work by herself whether she likes it or not. Besides, I'm on everyone's good side." She shows a cocky grin, but Emma and Lee Jung specifically can't help but doubt her. "I don't know about this one. Doesn't seem like an easy girl to get through."
"Nah, have some faith in our girl," Noze says, patting Bada's hip. "Wanna bet on it?" Bada says, with pure confidence backing her up. "I get her to fall for me, and you owe me a month of doing all my assignments." Lee Jung smirks at the girl, "Deal."
"So when are you gonna start?" Noze asks as she eats her chips. "Not sure. Definitely not tonight, though. I'm seeing Redy after practice." All her friends roll their eyes at the girl's name, finding her ignorance ever so bothersome.
The next morning, you find yourself in the same spot as usual and have begun the project already. Bada finds herself looking for you on campus and figures, where do all nerds hang out?Â
The library.
She makes her way over, and as she enters, she automatically finds you in the corner of the large hall. "Hey there, partner," She greets, and you look at her dead in the eyes, "What are you doing here?" Your tone ached in annoyance.
"Come on, don't be like that. I want actually to try on this project."
"Fine. Let me ask you this first. Why are you even in computer science?" You were straightforward, your serious demeanor never fading. Bada is surprised by your daring question but never trembles, "I just thought it would be interesting." An irked scoff is heard from behind your mask, "Yeah, right," was said with an eye roll. Well, this is gonna be harder than she thought.
"I'm being serious. I wanna earn the grade as well." She whines slightly, and your eyes cry disgust. "Give me your number, and we can work on the project at my house after basketball practice." You grumble and slouch in your chair, and Bada, unconsciously, finds the position adorable as your oversized hoodie collapses on your body, "Sure," is all you mumble, not wanting any more trouble than there already was.
Bada grins as you write your information down on a purple post-it note and shows her excitement when you hand it over to her. You sat there as she left the library, wondering what she had planned for you. It wasn't like Bada to talk to nobodies to "do work." Yet the sooner you had this project done, the better you took her words with a grain of salt, hoping she was being at least a little truthful with her words.
You werenât one to trust many peopleâs words, particularly from individuals like Bada, but you knew it had to be done for the sake of your grade. A hefty sigh leaves your body, and you try to go about your day without going too deep into it. During your last period, you feel your phone buzz and read an unexpected message.
Bada Meet me after practice at 5 PM at the gym. Iâll give you a ride so we can work on the project.
The recurring disdain takes over your face again as you read. You hate that you even had contact with the girl, so you just leave her on read as you remind yourself about the meeting. You would just have to wait for her, deciding to go to the school's garden as you let time pass. On the other end of campus, Bada stares at her phone in dismay, âDid she just leave me on read?â She mumbles to herself, and her fellow co-captain hears the uncommon words from the latterâs mouth. âSomeone leaving the queen Bada on read? You donât hear that every day,â Haechi tells the girl, and Bada sneers at the comment. âSheâs just playing hard to get for now. Trust, sheâll fall for me by the end of the week.â
âWho is it anyways?â Haechi questions. âBaek Y/n,â she simply states, and the otherâs eyes widen. âLike top student Baek Y/n?â Bada looks at her in confusion, âYou know her?â
The latter shrugs, âWe went to the same high school. Sheâs a sweet girl,â she adds, and Badaâs curiosity grows. âSweet? Do you even know what she looks like?â âNope, but if you care about your grades, sheâll notice and help you, even if you're struggling.âÂ
Haechi was one of the few popular students in university who focused on her grades, so her statement wasnât so out of the blue. âKnow anything else about her?â Haechi briefly considers the inquiry, âShe really likes energy drinks, from what I remember. She always drank the blue Monster cans.â But there was a slight hesitation in the co-captinâs voice.
âI know how you are, Bada, so Iâm aware I canât stop you from your plans, but try not to do too much damage to the girl. Sheâs too precious to be broken by someone like you,â Haechi tells her, and despite the brutal words, Bada doesnât take it to heart, almost shoving it out of her mind.
âDonât worry. I wonât.â
The practice continues for hours before Bada notices your small figure sitting on the bleachers, waiting for the little time left. She jogs her way over to you with a bashful smile, âHey, let me just change, and we can head out.â You just nod, wanting to get out fast, but Haechiâs familiar face has your eyes smiling. âY/n-nie! Long time no see,â she opens her arms, and you gladly hop down to hug her. Bada watched the interaction, not knowing how to react to this side of you. You looked overjoyed to see the girl, and she may not be able to see your face, but the new energy made her feel a sense of loss.
She didnât understand why you favored Haechi but not her. They were both tall, popular basketball team captains and had similar recognition in school. The only thing Haechi had over Bada was her straight Aâs in classes. Was that the thing that would get you to like her? Bada grumbled at the concept. She wasnât failing or anything, or else she couldnât play on the team, but ALL her grades were not close to par with Haechiâs, not even a little bit. When her attention returns to the two of you, she sees you handing a new water bottle to Heachi, who thanks you. âYou two seem close,â she tells them, and her co-captain looks at you almost with cherishing eyes. âY/nâs the best man. Helped me a lot throughout high school,â you wave your hands in denial. âHeachi, you did your best in high school with or without my help. Youâre hard-working,â your voice appears in a softer tone. Bada wanted to roll her eyes hard, but she left you two to change.
Bada wasnât jealous, but maybe being narked was the better way to express her feelings. The girl was the type of person to feel better and superior to everyone else, so the fact that Haechi was already on your good side had her deep in her cycling thoughts. She needed to work hard to get this version of you, and not just with the project.
When she finishes, she tells you to go with her, and you hug Haechi before leaving the court and going to the parking lot with Bada. As she drove, she tried to make some conversation. âYou started the project, right?â âYeah.â
âYou might have to teach me a few things so I can actually help.â âSure.â
âYou like computer science?â âYup.â
That. That was the substance you gave Bada after every question. It made her want to jump out of the moving car, her ego bruised by your one-word replies. She stops trying after 10 minutes, letting the silence overwhelm you two, and you couldnât have been any happier with the lack of sound. The car pulls up to this large mansion, and you try to hide your awe. This house was huge. Probably being able to hold the capacity of 200 students. âCome on in,â she invites with the large open door.Â
When you entered, your eyes marveled at the marble architecture, the classical aesthetic being the prominent feature of the house. Bada then leads you to the living room, where you sit timidly on her couch. âDo you want anything to drink?â She asks you as your eyes still wander the house. âUm, Iâm ok.â
âWell, let me just change before we start,â you nod, taking out your laptop and notebook, trying to get a bit comfortable for your peace of mind. You pull up the empty website domain with only your school's colors and a sleek banner that takes up a decent amount of the screen. After 10 minutes, Bada returns with gray basketball shorts and a tight wife beater as her top. Your eyes go up and down her figure before focusing on the monitor.
You were honest, and as much as you didnât understand Badaâs playgirl mentality, you did understand her appeal to the female population in school. Her tall figure, the varieties of colors sheâd use on her long hair that cascaded all the way down to her waist, and the hats she wore to hold a sense of mystery were the perfect formula for the way to a girlâs heart.
âSo what should I do?â Bada says, sitting beside you, which had you scoot in the opposite direction. âWe can split the parts. Professor Min already put up the criteria for the website. I can do the harder stuff like navigation, school history, subjects, majors, and minors.â You tell her as you view the recent handout your professor had put up. âThatâs too much, no? All Iâd have left is the decorating, department information, and help desk information. Why donât I help you with the major and minors?â You look at her with bewildered eyes, âYou sure? A lot of coding and linking goes into that?â The taller one nods confidently, âYou just have to teach me, and Iâm sure Iâll be able to do it.â You nod with some hesitation.
âHow about we start brainstorming the website's theme, and we can start with the project next week?â
âSure, but why next week? My practices always end at 5-6 PM, so we should have time.â You shake your head, âitâs not because of you. I'm just gonna be busy with the school council this week.â And Bada looks at you in surprise, âYour part of the school council?â
âYeah, but Iâm just the secretary. Since the sports events are around the corner, I have to oversee everybody and their work,â you explain. Bada feels the admiration brewing inside her. She was aware of your hardworking nature, well, everyone was. You were the top student for a reason, but this put you on a different playing field. On top of your multiple studies, you did your due diligence as a prominent figure on their school council.
âWell, why arenât you the president?â You scoffed, following a pity laugh, âBada, I canât lead anyone to save my life.â She stares at you, not understanding your point, and you take notice. âI might be smart, but that doesnât mean I have leadership skills.â
âMaybe I can help you,â the tall girl shrugs. She thought she was a good captain for her team, so with that credit, she could give you pointers. âItâs fine. I like my position. I get to help everyone.â The two of you let the time pass as you continued to work on the project before ending the night.
The next few days, you had a lot on your plate. You were running around the school, ensuring all the projects and events were being set up properly, writing reports, and then reporting to the president and vice president about overseeing.
During this time, Bada rarely saw you in class, and she thought about how busy youâd be. You werenât lying, huh.
But on a Thursday afternoon, you watched the gym setup and saw Badaâs little group chilling on the bleachers. Another student, Doyoung, walks in with papers stacked in his hands. It was all the papers you needed to sign and read through, but a basketball flew in his direction before he could reach you. His head throbs as he drops the papers, and you see Badaâs groupies laughing as Bada yells, âSorry, Do-ah, the ball slipped out my hands,â she says as she collects the ball and returns to the bleachers. You ran over to the boy, helping him get the papers and helping him up. âDoyoung? Are you okay?â You help the boy up, and he stares at you, dizziness coating his face. You glare at Bada, who catches a glimpse of your raging eyes, and she realizes her fuck up in an instant.
âCome on, let me take you to the nurse,â you say as you grab his arm, wrapping it around your shoulders. âShit,â Bada says as she watches the two of you leave, you having the stacks of heavy paper sticking out of your bag. âLooks like your timing is off this time,â Noze teases, and Bada thinks she has to make it up to you. She ran out of the gym, trying to catch up to you. She found you settling Doyoung on the nurse's bench as you explained what happened, and to avoid punishment, she waited for you to leave the office before she could talk to you.
Walking out, you make eye contact with the basketball player and scoff at the sight. You tried to walk past her, but she stopped you, pulling your arm, âY/n, wait.â You rip your arm away, feeling grossed out by her touch. âDid you feel cool?â You bluntly ask, and Bada is taken aback at your tone. âNo, thatâs not it-â
âThen what is it, Bada? It doesnât take much to be nice, but it sure does take a lot of energy to be as rude as you.â The disappointment felt like knives to Badaâs heart. It felt like the same judgment she got from her parents, and now you were saying it to her? It made her want to suffocate six feet under. âI just wanted to be funny. I didnât mean to hurt him. Iâm sorry,â she mumbles as her head hangs low. âThat apology shouldnât be for me, asshole. Apologize to Doyoung,â you tell her, leaving her where she stands as you are still much to do. âDoyoung-ah, just text me later when you get home,â the younger boy nods, and you return to your busy day.
âDude, I apologized to Doyoung yesterday, and she still hasnât texted me anything about the project,â Bada tells her friends as she paced back and forth. âI donât see what the big deal is,â Aiki says, and Bada looks at her in distress. âItâs a big deal 'cause I need that A to play in that prelims.â
âMaybe give her something to make it up to her?â Lee Jung suggests that Badaâs eyes grow at her words, remembering Haechiâs words. âThe blue Monster,â she gasps, and her friends look at her weirdly as she runs off campus. Bada went to the convenience store, buying a can of Monster energy drink, some cookies, and an egg sandwich. It was early morning, so she knew sheâd find you in the library at your usual spot.
Instead of being on your laptop this time, your eyes never left the papers you read and signed. Not even noticing her presence, Bada drops the bag lightly on the desk and pushes it in your direction. You look up, see the girlâs sorry face, and check the inside of the bag. âWhatâs this?â
âMy apology to you for being a dick. I also apologized to Doyoung yesterday, so Iâm in the clear.â You roll your eyes and sigh heavily, âWhy are you like this, Bada?â Now she was confused, âWhat do you mean?â
âYou're capable of being nice to people like me, so why canât you do it to others?â Because other people won't help my grade, Bada thought. âIâm not sure,â Bada acts, trying to look ashamed. âBut I know Iâll try my best to change,â she says, that confident smile taking place on her face again.Â
So, during the next few weeks, you worked with Bada. She did her best to show you the better version of herself. Yes, she was acting initially, but as time passed, she got comfortable with the routines. She attended classes earlier, paid attention, participated, and even studied. The week after the altercation, Bada had asked you to tutor her in certain subjects, and you gladly accepted, liking the direction of her change.
So, the two of you sat in her home on a Friday afternoon after school, and you were working on your chemistry assignments. You had become comfortable in the setting after working at her home a few times. âY/n-ah, help me with this long-ass formula. It's confusing.â You giggle at the pout on her lips and check the screen. âThe prefix is hepta- and check out the periodic table for the names.â You point to the table of chemical symbols, and Bada begins to understand the list of prefixes on the coffee table.
You continued your work and studied the current topic you guys were on. Bada looked at you, wondering, âI hope this doesn't make you uncomfortable, but why do you always wear a mask?â You pause, not expecting the surprise question. âIt just makes school go by faster. Drama-free too,â you express, and Bada rolls her eyes. âBut itâs just you and I here.â
âDoesnât change the fact that it makes my life easy,â you state. âLook, tomorrow, when you come over for the project, come without the mask, please?â You look at her in confusion, wondering why she was pressing on so much. But seeing her giving you puppy eyes, you reluctantly agreed, âFine.â
âGreat! Now help me with this question, please?â You laugh at her struggle.
The next day, you woke up to prepare for the long day. You took a shower, did your everyday skincare, and ensured you looked presentable. You were much more alert about your looks when you didn't wear the mask. You wanted to feel confident and ensured you did when applying the lip oil and putting your hair in a high ponytail.
You took an Uber to Badaâs place and rang the doorbell. When Bada opens the door, she takes in your appearance. You were out of your uniform for once, and the hairstyle displayed your small face clearly. Bada looks at you fondly, not expecting such a pretty girl to hide behind the mask daily. Even with the glasses on, your eyes looked large, and your heart-shaped lips colored bright pink. The tall girl couldnât pull her eyes away from your lips. They looked too juicy not to kiss.

âAre you gonna let me in, or should I just stay out here?â Bada shakes her thoughts away and moves to the side. âSo you were hiding this the entire time?â She asks as she pats your head, and you swat her hand away. âYou practically begged for this.â
âAnd Iâm not complaining,â She continues, staring at you, âgo to school like this man.â âOkay, it was one thing asking me to come to your house like this, but school? Never happening.â You tell her, settling your bag down on the couch. âWait, we should work in my room today. My parents are gonna be home today.âÂ
She leads you into her room, the cool gray walls blinding your eyes. You observe your surroundings, surprised to see the clean room. She puts your bag on the office chair and lets you sit on her bed. You began to talk about what youâve done on the project, but as you talked, Bada wasnât even concerned about your words, focusing on your body more. Your outfit made Bada want to have you moaning underneath her, chest rising up and down as you begged for more.
âBada?â You check on her worryingly. âYes?â She whispers, still not staring at your face. âHave you done the majors and minors?â âI finished the majors, but Iâm still working on the minors,â she tells you, clearly still entranced. âCan you show me?â
âOh, um, yeah,â She shakes her head and takes her laptop out, showing the work she had completed, and you were visibly pleased with the progress. âThis is actually really good. Nice job,â your validation had her heart swelling as your grin held a tint of pride. âMaybe you can finish up the minors today? Just so your work goes by faster.â She nods and checks out all the work youâve done as well. âYou finished all of these? That fast?â She stares at the screen, astonished by the amount of stuff you did the past two weeks. âAnything that needs to be done on a computer, I can do in a quick flash,â you joke, but it holds some sincerity. âIâm trying to be like you, girl,â She comments, and you laugh.
âLetâs do this so we donât have much left to do next week.â With those words, the two of you worked the entire day. By the next time you checked the time, you realized the hours passed quickly. âDamn, itâs already 4 PM?â This also makes Bada check her phone, âOh, your right. You want something to eat?â âI wouldnât mind that actually.â
The two of you enter her kitchen, and Bada heated up some leftover Chinese food she had left in the fridge. Once you guys were eating, Bada tried to get to know you more, finding your presence comforting. âSo, Y/n, why do you work so hard in school?â Your mind malfunctions at the question, unsure if you should be honest with the girl. âUm~,â you start, slowly picking at your food. âItâs mainly for my mom. My dad left us for his other family when I was five, and she raised me all by herself. This is the only way to give her a good life after everything she has gone through.â Your voice said with a hint of sadness, and Bada watched your pretty face fall. You wiped away the slight tears that formed. âYouâre a good person, Y/n. Never forget that,â She tells you, and you find your heart racing at the words. Bada never had this effect on you, but her words of encouragement made your day.
She was about to continue the conversation, but another tall, more mature woman walked in the room, eyes looking cautiously at the sight of you. âBada,â she called your partner's name, and you look surprised at Badaâs figure. She straightened herself up, fixing her appearance slightly. âMother.â
âWho is this?â The older womanâs hand points over in your direction, and before Bada can answer, you decide to try and please the stern woman. âMy name is Baek Y/n mam. Iâm Badaâs partner for our computer science project. Itâs nice to meet you.â You bow at the woman, and her eyebrows raise at your politeness. âGood manners, proper style, pretty face, excellent speaker,â her mom states, as her gaze moves around your body. âYou should be more like this, Bada.â
âMom, not in front of her, please,â Badaâs voice goes small, and you regret speaking up. âWhat? Itâs true. Instead of basketball, you should be a model student. I should thank your teacher for partnering you up with this young woman.â
âI donât know how we failed to raise you. This is how you shouldâve turned out,â The older woman goes to your side, using her two hands to present you as if you were a presentation. Badaâs feelings were in a whirlwind. She wasnât sure if she could be mad at you, her mom, or just the world. Her mom wasnât even wrong. You were perfect in every way, and she was the disappointment. Two different worlds were crossing paths, and she was beginning to wish she was partnered with another individual instead of you.
Your eyes grow at her motherâs harsh words, and you shake your head, moving away from the woman. She wasnât even aware of Badaâs new changes and efforts the last few days, but she belittled her daughter. âMadam, with all due respect-â
âY/n. Donât,â The tall girl tells you, with a stern voice, her breathing going shaky. âYou right, mother. Iâll do better,â Bada says, head hanging low as she walks past the two of you. âWhat a dramatic girl,â You hear her mom telling herself, and you do your best not to ridicule the woman. âIâll go check up on her,â you bow and run up to Badaâs room, finding the door shut. When entering, her back was turned to you as she sat on the edge of her bed. You were about to reach out on her shoulder but halted when you heard the sniffles as they gradually grew heart-wrenching. You rush to Badaâs side without any reluctance, pulling her into a hug. The warmth engulfing Bada had her break down instantly, never having anyone hold her as you did. Your eyes teared up at the sounds of her hyperventilating, her grip on your shoulder becoming tighter.Â
You then thought this was such a common occurrence for Bada. She put up this facade in school, wanting the attention of other women, and finally understood where it all stemmed from. Bada just wanted to feel loved and longed for, but with a household like this, it felt so hard to even ask for. She shouldnât even have to ask. It was her mother, after all.
âBada, youâre doing your best. Donât let your momâs words take that away from you.â You whisper as you rub her back, âIf you ever want to talk, you can always talk to me.â
Bada begins to calm down at your words, the shakiness in her voice fading away. âThank you, Y/n-ah.â She whispers, leaving her head on your shoulders. She wavers and asks, âCan you come to my game on Friday?âÂ
âOf course. Iâll be your personal cheerleader,â you quip, in a shot to make her feel better, which works when a cheesing smile forms on her face. âYouâd only cheer for me?â âMaybe for Haechi as well,â you tease, and she hits your arm with a pout. âOkay, ouch. Iâll cheer for you only, damn. No need to get violent on me.â Bada laughs at your words.Â
You try to stray from the topic, but you canât help but ask, âDoes she talk to you that way all the time?â Bada sighs, âYeah, basically every time sheâs home.â The lightbulb in your head flickers when she says, âMy house may not be as extravagant as yours, but how about we work on the project on my house on Tuesday? Iâll send you my address, and you can come over after practice,â Badaâs eyes shined at the proposal. âIâd be honored.â
So the following Tuesday, you come home and relax on your bed before deciding to take a shower, feeling the stickiness of your sweat getting to you. You changed into a large baby pink shirt and some pajama shorts. Deciding to get a head start, you started your other assignments before Bada could get there. You worked on your easy English paper as you waited for the time to pass and heard the doorbell. Your eyes checked the time, and seeing 6 PM, you already knew who it was. You open the door to find Bada changed into gray sweatpants, an oversized hoodie, and one of her iconic hats covering her head. âWell, Miss Bada, welcome to my humble abode,â you say, welcoming her in. Badaâs eyes roam around, taking in the simplicity of the house, finding it shocking as she took a liking to it. âIt feels⊠homey,â She mumbles, and you pat her shoulder. âI have more space in my room. Letâs work there.â
Badaâs eyes wander to your exposed thighs when going up the stairs. They looked so thick and plump. Bada, never realizing the build of your body, wanted to grip your thighs until they were turning red. Once you let her into your sacred space, Bada sees the tiny potted plants you kept, shelves full of books, your desk looking organized, and your twin-sized bed and pillows wrapped in a light purple set.Â
âSo I have the navigation and research of the school's history. I might leave that research for next week to work on other subjects today.â Bada nods, settling on your bed and opening her laptop, âWhat other assignments do you have to do?â
âIâm trying to finish my English paper and then study for next weekâs Chemistry exam.â âCHEM EXAM?â Bada yells, startling you into a jump. âYes, Bada, chemistry exam.â Bada rubs the back of her neck, âCan you help me study?â You smile at her, âOf course.â The two of you finished the topics you agreed to do today, and Bada explained that she only had the decorating left. âY/n?â You hear a voice coming from downstairs, and you smile, âYes, mom?â
âDid you and your friend eat yet?â Bada is bewildered at the foreign voice. Your mom knew she was here? âWe havenât yet!â You voice out as you put your hair up in a messy bun. âCome down and eat. I made some mandu and kimchi jiigae,â Badaâs eyes brightened at the names of the food. You giggle at her face and pull her into the kitchen with you. Bada makes eye contact with your mom, and the woman gasps. âY/n, you didnât tell me how beautiful your friend was.â
âMom, stop~,â you whine as you give her a welcoming hug. Bada smiles at your relationship with your mom. It is the exact opposite of what she was used to. âLet me help you with setting up the table?â Your mom handed you the plates and utensils, âget comfortable, Bada. Youâre about to eat some of the best food ever,â You tell the tall girl, trying to tease your mom, who laughs at your comment. âCome on, sweaty, sit down,â Your mom tells the basketball player as she puts both dishes at the center of your table.
âHow was school you two?â Bada almost chokes on her first bite of food as your mom asks, not used to the motherly love. âOh dear, here, have some water, darling,â Your mom pours a glass as you pat Badaâs back. âIâm sorry. Um, school was alright, thank you for asking,â Bada says, mumbling, and you smile pityingly at your mom. âSame mom, nothing new.â
âThatâs good!â She finishes, letting you all eat in peace. âHave you rested this past week, Y/n?â You grin at your momâs question, âYou know I try and stop doing work an hour before I go to bed, Mom.â âThat doesnât count.â
You sigh, âDonât worry. I plan to go to Badaâs game on Friday, so Iâll take a break then.â Your mom gets excited, âReally? Good luck with your game. I hope you guys win!â Your mom was joyful, even with what had happened in the past, which made her your hero. âI hope we win too, Ms. Baek,â Bada gives an appreciating smile. âOh, please call me mom. Any friend of Y/n can call me Mom. She rarely has any friends, so,â Your mom whispers her ending statement, and you roll your eyes at her. âCan we not expose Y/n? Thanks,â You say, pointing to yourself. The two smile at your gesture, and Bada teases you, âSheâs not wrong.â
âLook at what you started, Mom!âÂ
After you ate and studied with Bada, it was already 9 PM as you walked her out of your house. âYouâre mom is the sweetest person on Earth,â Bada says, a sense of peace taking over her as she held the bag of food your mom had packed for her. âI know,â you giggle, knowing how your mom was. She accepted everyone and anyone as long as they treated you and her kindly.
âThank you, Y/n. Youâve been helping me so much recently, and I donât know how to pay you back,â she says, bringing you into the tightest hug. Your chest pounded, feeling a new overwhelming feeling of emotions. You knew that you and Bada had become closer in the past few weeks, but now you blushed at her touch, making you nervous.
There was no way you were starting to like her, right? You believed Bada was changing for the better. She had stopped flirting with so many girls, focused more on school, and acted as a more proper captain for her team. Thatâs what you thought, at least.
It was Thursday morning, before Badaâs game, and she was chilling on her hour break with the rest of her friends. âHow has the project been going?â Emma asks with genuine interest. âItâs actually really good,â She simply states, and her friends stare at each other, unsure of how to go about her answer. âYou remember our deal, right?â Lee Jung asks the taller, reminding her of her words two weeks ago. âOf course, I do,â Badaâs words felt like a harsh smack to the face. Her statement simmered in her mind like she was lying to herself.
Bada knew she was changing, and whether she would like to admit it or not, the thought scared her. It was because of you and only you. She was never meant to go this deep or even this far with your friendship. She couldnât help herself, though. She shared tears with you, personal issues her friends didnât even know about, and even bonding with your own mother. Feeling like a brand new person, Bada felt liberated and accomplished. Lately, she thought she could stick up to her parents, defending herself from their judgmental words. Last night, during their family dinner, Badaâs mother and father had some words for her again. âBada, your grades better be good this semester, or youâll be sent to military school.â Her father tells her in an eerie, monotone voice. Bada looks at them, sensing betrayal. âDo you guys even love me?â âWhat kind of question is that?â Her mom gazes at the girl, the cold look never leaving her gaze. âYou havenât even noticed the effort Iâve been putting in the last few days. Everything I do is never enough for the both of you.â Badaâs parents were taken aback at their daughter's sudden outburst. âMaybe if you were putting this much energy before, we wouldnât have to say anything to you,â her father points out. âItâs because of that Y/n girl. I should thank her for you.â Bada grumbles at the authority, not wanting to hear the same crap repeatedly. âI understand I may not have been the best child. Trust me, I know. But maybe if you two showed even the tiniest bit of compassion and love, I wouldnât have turned out this way.â That statement had both her parents shut up, letting her words brew in their minds.
âBada,â she hears your voice, pulling her out of her thoughts, and everyone looks at you. Your eyes looked at them weirdly as they looked surprised at your presence. âAre you free on Sunday? I have things to do on Saturday, but we can probably finish the project by the end of this week.â She smiles at you, âNo problem, we only have a little to go anyways. It shouldnât take that long.âÂ
âOkay, Iâll see you tomorrow then,â you wave off, and Badaâs friends sat there, frozen at the exchange. âThat might be the first time Iâve ever heard her voice,â Aiki says, hypnotized by your sweet voice. âI might have to snatch her up from you, Bada.â Noze kids, but Bada looks at her with stone-cold eyes, âNo.â
Her friends sit there, unknowingly triggering something inside the tall girl. âIt was just a joke, Bada, chill.â Lee Jung tells her as she shakes her head.
Emma looks at her, eyes growing at the assumption, âAre you falling for the girl?â Bada instantly looks at her like sheâs crazy, âI just want to finish this project before you guys try anything,â she says, saving herself.Â
Being oblivious to Badaâs words, you were excited about her game tomorrow. Your outfit was planned. You had snacks and a Gatorade for Bada to drink during her match. Since Tuesday night, Bada had been running on your mind constantly, and you werenât sure how to handle your feelings. It was the first time you were hardcore crushing on someone, and this project made it challenging to contain your emotions. Her presence, attention, and beauty had you fixated. Since this was a first for you, you wanted to slow it down, trying to navigate it as you went.
So when game day finally came, you wore your hair up in a sleek ponytail and wore an extra jersey that Bada had given you with the number 22. You paired it with some simple Air Forces and ripped baggy jeans. Keep up the mysterious facade. You had your black mask covering the lower half of your face. Everyone stared at you as you sat on the court, wondering what your relationship was with their schoolâs basketball captain. You only kept your eyes down, not enjoying the amount of attention you were getting.Â
Bada comes out from the locker room in full uniform and her eyes find your body, and an unconscious smile takes over her face. You looked adorable in the oversized jersey, and Bada just wanted to run up and hug you, but the game was starting soon, and the team had to warm up.Â
You space out, but the loud blaring of the alarm shocks you out of it. As a book-believing student, you werenât familiar with the rules or how the sport worked, but Bada made it worthwhile. Bada was noticeably agile and had a massive amount of stamina compared to everyone on the court. As you watched and cheered after her every shot, a blonde girl noticed your attire. A scowl and a look of disgust replaced her cheers. You werenât even aware of her, focusing on the tall girl the entire time.
When half-time took place, you handed Bada the drink you had prepared for her. Smiling at your gesture, she thanked you and sipped as their coach spoke to them.Â
The game started again, and as the timer was hitting the last few seconds, the score stood at 86-87, the score slim to the tee. Your heart beats anxiously as you watch Bada maneuver through the court. Haechi had passed the ball to her co-captain, and at 5 seconds, Bada had taken her chance at a three-pointer, and everyone held their breath as the ball spun around the rim. So when the ball fell in at the last second, all your school's students jumped and cheered at the epic finale. Bada looks over at you again, seeing your proud eyes on her. She blew a kiss at you, and you giggled as she celebrated with her team.
âHey,â you hear her voice and turn around to see her sweaty figure, as her cheesing grin never leaves her face. âWait for me at the parking lot? Iâll give you a ride home.â She offers, and you nod, pulling down your mask, not wanting to hide your thrilled face. âYou were amazing out there, Bada.â The sincerity of your voice made Bada weak to her knees, and she felt giddy inside. âThanks. Iâll see you in a bit, okay?â You nod, leaving the gym to the parking lot, where you wait, sitting on a bench. When Bada watches you go, she feels the butterflies in her stomach and stands there terrified. The girl started falling for you, the feelings piling up since your first study session. This couldnât be happening. Badaâs pride wouldnât let it happen, so she had to do something about it fast.
20 minutes had passed, and Bada still hadnât come out. Worrying began to fill your mind. You kept checking your phone every minute, and the same anxiety overtook you. You decided to look for her, which honestly didnât take long. You turned the corner of your school's building. You saw two figures holding each other tightly as they enthusiastically made out with each other.
Due to the darkness of the night, you squinted at the sight, but as it became clear, your heart broke into a million pieces, feeling like it was now dust. It was Bada and another girl. They pull away from each other, breathing heavily, and you hide behind the corner you turned from. âWhat about that other girl?â The unfamiliar voice asks. âWhat other girl?â âThe girl wearing your jersey?â You swallowed lightly, your chest becoming heavy in your current position. âSheâs no one, baby. Donât worry about it. She was just a little bet.â You hear her, and you sob in silence, walking away from the detrimental scene that just occurred right in front of you.
You sit at the curb, staring at the stars, and laugh at yourself, âYouâre so stupid, Y/n. So stupid,â you mumble, the tears getting harder to contain as Badaâs words repeat in your mind. Of course, you were just a bet for her. You were just another girl added to her collection, and it made you fall into despair. She cried to you and opened up, yet you were just another girl. You hit your head lightly in frustration with yourself. âY/n?â
You jolt up from your spot, wiping your staining tears away, and turn around to find Haechi, who looks at you worried. âYou okay?â You nod with a deep breath and huff, âYeah, just feeling down right now. No biggy,â you try saving yourself, but the cracks in your voice tell the girl otherwise. âWhat are you still doing here-â She was about to ask but realized what may have happened since she saw Bada walking out with some blonde student from her Physics class. Haechiâs face was now painted sorrowfully, engulfing you in a hug. Her touch had triggered the waterworks again, and you were now crying again, breaths getting weaker when each tear dropped. âIâm so fucking stupid, Haechi. I hate her. I hate her so much,â the tall girl rubs your back, letting you release your anger and sadness. âDonât say that Y/n-nie, youâre the smartest girl in school. Bada is just⊠ruthless.â Haechi states, some rage hiding under her voice. She had warned Bada, and the captain still went against her word. âIâm like every other girl, Haechi.â
The tall girl pulls away, shaking her head furiously, âNo. No, youâre not. Come on, let me take you home.â You nod, too tired to say anything and sit in Haechiâs car, taking a nap on the way home as you wasted so much energy.
Bada was now trying to look for you everywhere, not noticing how long she took, keeping you waiting.
Bada Y/n? Where are you?
She waited for a response, but it never came. She began to worry but let the win of her game control her mind. An hour later, she was home, and you just got back to her.
Y/n-ahđ My mom wanted me to go home early. Sorry.
Bada sighed in relief. At least you were safe at home. She was about to respond, but you texted her again.
Y/n-ahđ About the project, donât worry about it. Iâm finishing it tonight and sending it to Professor Min tomorrow morning.
The tall girl furrows her brows.
Bada Are you okay?
Y/n-ahđ Splendid.
Safe to say, Bada was terrified at your one-word answers. She felt back at square one, but little did she know she wasnât even close. Not anymore.
The next time Bada saw you, you were both in school, and she approached you with your favorite drink. âMy payment for last week,â she says, handing the drink to you, and you dismiss the interaction instantly. âIâm good,â you tell her and just walk away. Bada stares at you in confusion and is about to go after you but sees you standing at Haechiâs locker. From afar, her co-captain seemingly handed you a blue Monster can, and you hug the girl, thankfully. The interaction had Bada bothered and angry. You took Haechiâs drink but not hers?
She would talk to you about it one way or another, but she couldnât find you the entire day. The fact that you didnât have computer science today didnât help the matter. So Bada decided to talk to you at your house. The rain began to pour, but it wasnât stopping her from finding out what was wrong. She rang the bell at your gate, unsure if you were home, but when you opened the door, a glimmer of hope sparked until you spoke. âGo home, Bada.â
âWhat?â âI said go home,â your monotone voice made her want to hide. âY/n, talk to me, please?â âWhy should I?â She looks at you in shock. âWhat happened?â
âYou wanna know so bad?â You walk up to the gate, anger fueling your eyes. Not even caring about the pouring weather. âSomehow, me being the smartest girl in school means nothing when it comes to you.â
Bada didnât say a word, not knowing where this conversation was going. âCongrats, Bada, you made the top student in school look like the most mindless person in the world.â Badaâs eyes widen, âwhat do you mean-â
âOh, donât act stupid.â You groan and look at her with eyes of disgust. Bada sunk into the thought. She was back to square one. âI seriously donât understand-â âYou donât understand sucking off another girlâs face while I waited for you in the parking lot? God, when I thought there was progress in your thought process these past few weeks, but I guess I was wrong.â
Thatâs what froze Bada, her heart dropping at the statement. You saw and heard everything. Bada only wanted to beg for forgiveness right then and there, but she knew she had no right to. It's not like you were gonna accept it anyway. âY/n I-â
âJust save it, Bada. You donât have to explain yourself. I get it. Iâm just another girl, right? Or what was it you told blondie? A bet?â Bada had no words to save herself, wanting the ground to swallow her whole in shame. âForget about it, Bada, forget we were ever friends.â You left the conversation at that, slamming the front door behind you. Thatâs when you broke down. The crying just couldnât stop, kneeling on the floor of your home as the dreadful silence filled your ears as you heard the heavy rain and thunder pouring outside the windows. For once, you hated the silence.Â
The next day, Bada wanted to try and apologize again. She looked and looked, not finding you anywhere on campus. She then looks for her second-best bet and sees her standing with her friends. âHaechi!â Bada runs up to the girl as she waves her friends off. Her co-captains eyes held frustration, and it told Bada she also knew the situation. âDo you know where Y/n is?â âWhy? So you can break her even more?â Bada knew to expect this, but she wasnât expecting to be cornered by the girl who shoved her into the lockers.
âI fucking told you, Bada, but what Bada wants, Bada gets, right?â Haechiâs pointer finger drilled into her chest, and the captain winced in pain. âI-I wanna make it right.â âToo fucking late.â
Badaâs body ignores the pain at her words, âWhat do you mean?â Haechi looks at the girl whose eyes began to water slightly. âSheâs leaving for the States. The school gave her an internship for 5 months.â Badaâs world crumbles, and she takes out her phone, sending you multiple messages.
Bada Y/n, Iâm sorry. Please donât go. It was a mistake. I was stupid. I was falling for you, and I was scared. Y/n?
Badaâs tears were uncontrollable as they fell, reading how her messages werenât sending. âStupid. Stupid. Stupid.â Bada was now beating herself up in the middle of the hallway. She was hitting her head hard with her fist, pulling her hair harshly, and everyone who saw looked at her in worry. Haechi was shocked at the girlâs actions, seeing how bad she genuinely felt. She did her best to pull Badaâs arms away, and Bada slid down to the floor, blubbering as Haechi did her best to stop the girl from hurting herself. âIâm so fucking stupid, Haechi.â Her teammate didnât know how to respond, just holding Badaâs arms down as she cried her pain away.

You sit back in your chair, the crew members adjusting your mic. Youâre starting to regret doing this interview, but itâs too late to back out now. Everythingâs already set up, the camera is about to be rolling. The interviewer is sitting a few feet away from you, notes in his hand. He waits for you to give him the signal that youâre ready. You nod, he begins.
âSo, y/n, how did you become involved with the group?â He asks.
âI was first approached by Spencer when I was eating lunch outside one day...â
~~~
You were sitting alone, the cool fall breeze almost too cold to be comforting. You didnât pay much mind to it though, you were more focussed on your studying. You were flipping through the pages of another history article when suddenly there was a presence beside you. Looking up at them as soon as you noticed, you recognized the boy as someone from your class.
âCan I help you?â You asked, your tone polite.
He looked nervous as if he were about to ask you out. âHi, uh, I donât know if you remember my name, Iâm Spencer we have Art History together.â
âOh, yeah, Iâve seen you,â you replied. âDo you need help with the homework or something?â
âNo, I actually wanted to talk to you about something else, if youâre not busy or anything,â he said, his voice quiet.
You look away for a second before replying. âSure, sit down if you want Iâm not busy.â
He smiled at you before quickly sitting at the spot across from you. He put his bag on the table, you could see him take a deep breath. Was he really going to ask you out? You thought he was cute, but definitely not your type. You started to pray he wouldnât say anything along those lines.
âI started to ask around a week or two ago about people who are good with computers and stuff, a lot of people told me you were the best person to go to,â he started. He lacked confidence in his voice, you felt bad for the poor guy but paid close attention to his words. âI need some... help with cameras.â
âWhat kind of cameras?â You asked, intrigued.
What he was saying was true, you were decently good with computers. You mostly would hack into places and disable things you didnât like, like the cameras on the public library computers. It wasnât anything illegal, at least you didnât think it was illegal. It probably was, but you didnât care.
âJust you know cameras in... semipublic places...â
You raised an eyebrow. âLike what kind though? Phone, laptop, desktop, security?â
âSecurity,â he answered quietly. âBut before you say no listen, how does a couple hundred thousand dollars' worth of payment sound?
âWhat?â
âI wonât tell you the details till I know youâre on board but let's just say something is going down and we need help with the cameras. The pay would be huge and all youâd have to do is just mess with some cameras for like twenty minutes.â
You only stared at him; your mouth slightly hung open. Was he being serious? Was he really asking you to join him in a potential robbery that would pay hundreds of thousands of dollars? You never wouldâve expected to be asked such a question on a cloudy Thursday at lunch. You shut your book completely and look around to make sure nobody is close.
âThis money, itâs guaranteed?â
He nods. âAs long as we get the job done, youâll have it.â
You knew it was crazy, you knew whatever was going to happen would either result in you going to prison or having to run off into hiding. But the thought of being able to pay all your student loans off and have extra money to live off of was more appealing. Hacking into cameras wasnât that hard, and it wasnât going to hurt anyone. Unless it was.
âIf youâre trying to get me to make sure a murder or rape isnât on camera Iâll snitch,â you warned him.
âOh no, nothing like that is happening at all. Itâs just you know a robbery,â he replied, his expression genuine.
You nodded your head, convinced whatever he was asking couldnât be that bad. âOkay, yeah, Iâll do it.â
~~~
âWhat was your first impression of the guys?
You smile. âThey were really cool, funny, just overall really fun people to hang out with.â
âDo you remember the first time you met all of them?â
âOf course, like it was yesterday...â
~~~
The house you sat in front of didnât look like a typical criminal's house. It looked like an average Americanâs family house actually. You were parked out on the road outside the house Spencer told you to go to, you were meeting the rest of the people involved with the robbery. It had been about ten minutes of you sitting out there debating whether or not to go in before you got a text from Spencer asking where you were. You sighed, praying to God this decision was the right one before getting out of your car.
You knocked on the front door with a shaky fist. You started to regret your decision, you thought about turning around and leaving, but the door was opened before you could act on it. An older woman stood in front of you, she looked to be in her 50s.
âOh, youâre very pretty,â she said, making your cheeks turn red. âYouâre here to see Warren, right?â
You had no idea who Warren was, but you nodded. The lady's smile grew, and she opened the door for you and ushered you inside. She directed you to the basement entrance, asking you a million questions you had no answers to. After those few but excruciating painful minutes though, you walked down the basement stairs and finally caught sight of Spencer.
There were three other guys in the room and all of their eyes were on you. Two, along with Spencer, were sitting on a couch. One of them was skinny with glasses, the other muscular with no glasses. They didnât grasp your attention though. The last guy who was standing did. He had long dark curly hair, and eyes to match. His eyes met yours before you watched them slowly move up and down your body. You didnât know how to react.
âGuys, this is y/n,â Spencer said, breaking you out of your thoughts.
âHello, Iâm Eric,â the guy with glasses introduced himself.
âChas,â the muscular guy spoke, not paying much attention to you. âAre you sure this was a good idea, Spence? How much do we really know about this chick? No offense.â
âShut up, we agreed,â Spencer hissed. He waved you over and you complied, walking to the couch and sitting on the end beside him.
The standing guy took a step forward and held out his hand to you. You looked up at him before accepting his handshake. His hand was rough, you liked the feeling of it in yours. âIâm Warren and you are our cameraman or woman I guess.â
You laughed. âI guess.â
âHow much has Spencer told you?â Warren asked after letting go of your hand and stepping back. It was then you noticed the maps on the wall with drawings all over them, the layout looked familiar.
âJust that I need to hack some cameras and that itâll pay me a lot,â you answered. âI donât even know what you guys are stealing.â
âWell y/n, Iâm sure youâve been to your own school's library right?â
You nodded.
âHave you ever taken a tour of the libraryâs rare book collection?â
You nodded again.
Warren smirked. âThen you know exactly what weâre stealing.â
Your face fell and you immediately looked at Spencer and the rest of the guys. âAre you serious? You guys want to steal historic books?â
âI told you this was a bad idea,â Chas mumbled from his chair.
âShut up Chas,â Warren quickly snapped. He looked back at you, his dark eyes engulfing yours completely. âWeâve been planning this out for months, and you are the last piece to our puzzle y/n. Think about how much youâll be earning.â
You didnât say anything. Maybe it was a bad idea.
~~~
âChas eventually stopped being cold to me, I actually think in the end he became my closest friend in the group,â you say, finishing your story.
The interviewer gives you a look. âWell, besides Warren right?â
âI donât know what you mean,â you reply, a confused look on your face.
âI have to ask if the stories are true, you know about you and him. The other guys say something changed between the two of you after a party you all attended. I mean, didnât the police even question if your involvement had a deeper meaning than simply the money?â
You shake your head, giving your best performance. âMe and Warren were only ever best friends, there was never a deeper meaning behind anything.â
~~~
Music was pumping through your body, from the tips of your toes to the top of your head you could feel it. It had been a few weeks since you met the guys, and they all wanted to do something fun before the heist. So, a frat party was naturally the easiest option. Thatâs where you were now, already two shots and half a joint in. You didnât know where Spencer, Nick, and Warren were, but Chas was dancing with you.
Though the two of you got off on the wrong foot, you and Chas quickly learned how well you get along. He was a good friend, all of the guys were. You liked how easily they could make you laugh and brighten your mood. They were all good people who you enjoyed being around.
Warren was the only one that you felt different for. You didnât know why, but from the first day you met you knew your feelings for him would be different than the other three. The way he looked at you alone was completely different than the others. There was always something darker in his eyes, something you knew wasnât supposed to be there for simply a friend. Every time the two of you looked at each other, your stomach filled with butterflies. You wanted it too. But in those first few weeks, nothing had happened. No matter how much either of you wanted it.
After some minutes of you and Chas dancing, Warren and Spencer appeared. They asked if the two of you wanted to go out and smoke, you both agreed and followed them outside the back. Not too many people were in the backyard, but there were enough for there to be a bonfire going. The four of you found an empty spot near the fire and sat down. Warren took out a joint and lit it before passing it around.
âWhereâs Nick?â You asked after taking a hit.
Spencer shrugged. âProbably with the weird kids doing weird stuff.â
âHeâs not that weird,â Chas replied. âHeâs just awkward.â
You watched as Warren took another long hit of the joint. Because of the weed and alcohol, you found yourself even more attracted to him than when you were sober. You wanted so desperately to run your fingers through his hair, you wanted to hear his voice as you touched him. He suddenly met your gaze, his lips curled up into a mesmerizing smile. You wanted to kiss him. It was too much for you to handle.
You swallowed and stood up, brushing the dirt off your shorts. âI need to um use the bathroom.â
You didnât wait for any of their replies. Instead, you rushed back into the house straight to the kitchen. You poured yourself a shot, downing it before giving it a second thought. You needed these feelings to go away. How were you supposed to work with Warren if you couldnât even look at him without thinking about having sex with him? It made you feel awful. A hookup couldnât be the reason the robbery went bad, you refused to let that happen.
After another shot, you started to forget about your feelings. In fact, you started to forget about Warren completely. All you felt was the burning sensation of the alcohol in your stomach and chest, it felt good. You stumbled out of the kitchen and into the hallway, grabbing the railings of the staircase for support. Suddenly, you felt a presence next to you, their hand on your back.
âY/N, are you good?â It was Warren.
You turned your head and looked at him, God how could he look even better? âNo- Iâm not okay.â
âYouâre wasted, you need some water,â he said. He moved his hand around your waist and pulled you up straight. You felt like you were on fire. âCome on, back to the kitchen.â
âWhy are you here? I just- I just wanna forget about you,â you mumbled.
He started helping you walk back to the kitchen. âWhat? Why would you want to forget about me?â
âBecause... I want you but I canât have you. I thought you- felt the same thatâs why itâs been so hard to resist,â you spoke, stumbling over your words. âI canât look at you without thinking about you fucking me.â
Even in your drunken state, you could still see the cockiness on Warrenâs face. He lifted you up onto the kitchen counter effortlessly before turning and getting you a cup of water. You leaned your head back against one of the cabinets, your head was spinning. You couldnât think straight.
âDrink,â Warrenâs voice filled your ears.
You lifted your head and grabbed the solo cup from his hand, downing the water faster than ever. When you finished, you threw the cup to the floor, your eyes meeting Warrenâs once again. He was standing close enough that if you reached, you could touch him.
Perhaps it was because of the alcohol, or perhaps it was because of how long youâd felt the tension between you two, that gave you the courage to gently place your hand on the top of his head. His hair was soft, just like youâd expected it to be. You smiled and played with his curls. He didnât object, you were glad. You needed this.
âDo you want me?â You asked, your voice barely audible against the loud music.
âWhat do you think?â
You shrugged. âI thought so, but I could always be wrong.â
âMaybe I should make it clearer,â he said. He grabbed your wrist and pulled your hand off his head before stepping closer to you. âIf this house wasnât crowded, Iâd fuck you right here, right now.â
Your heart was racing, your cheeks bright red. You couldnât believe this was happening. Warren was still holding your wrist, it sent electric shocks throughout your body. His eyes began to shift from your eyes to your lips and so on. You swallowed; a lump had formed in your throat.
âThereâs probably an empty room somewhere,â you mentioned. âYou could take me to one of them and show me you mean what you say.â
Warren raised an eyebrow. âI donât know, youâre pretty drunk.â
âIâm not- I swear. I consent, Iâll remember all of this in the morning,â you replied quickly.
âAll right.â
Before you could say anything else, Warren scooped you into his arms and began to carry you through the house. You didnât know whether to pretend you were drunk so it wouldnât look suspicious or stay awake to also not make it look suspicious. You chose to stay awake and within minutes you and Warren were alone in a bedroom, your lips connected.
The kiss was fast and rough, everything you expected from him. His arms were wrapped around your waist, he towered over you. You wasted no time, immediately kicking off your shoes and pushing Warren back until he fell onto the bed. He pulled you on top of him, guiding your hips in slow motions over his clothed erection. You felt like you were on fire, you needed more.
You broke this kiss and leaned back so you were straddling him. You pulled off your shirt and bra, Warren followed your actions. Once your eyes fell upon his toned abdomen, you audibly moaned. You quickly leaned down again and kissed his chest, beginning a trail down his body. Each breath that left his mouth made your pussy drip even more. And when you reached his navel, his breaths turned into soft whispers.
âKeep going.â
âPlease.â
âIâll do anything.â
When you no longer had any skin left to kiss you looked back up at him, his eyes were already on you. He got your signal and instantly pulled his shorts and boxers off, leaving him completely naked. You werenât surprised at his size; you had a feeling heâd be big. You started off by slowly stroking him with your hand, the expressions on his face already enough to make you cum.
After a minute or so of that, you bent down and pressed a small kiss to his tip. You loved the way his leg twitched. It made you proud. So, you took him into your mouth. He gasped, one of his hands finding its way to the back of your head. He didnât push you; he only twirled your hair back into a ponytail-like style and gripped it tight. You moved your head up and down, taking as much of him in your mouth as you could. You were never a fan of giving head to guys, but with Warren, it was a different story.
Not much time passed before Warren pushed you gently, telling you he wasnât going to last much longer. You didnât care, you wanted him to finish in your mouth. But he told you he wanted to have sex, so you stopped. You peeled off your shorts and underwear before you climbed back onto him. His naked body against yours felt unreal, you were almost convinced this was all part of your drunken imagination.
However, when Warren pulled your head down and began to kiss your lips again, you knew it had to be real. His hands gripped your ass, kneading and playing with your skin. You positioned his tip at your entrance, you were so wet you didnât need any lube. You broke the kiss and looked into his eyes, you wanted to know it was okay. He gave you a nod and so you began to push yourself down on him.
He filled you well, just the perfect amount. You had thrown your head back, a moan escaping your lips. You hadnât had sex in months, and this was the perfect way to break that streak. You started to move your body forward and backward while simultaneously going up and down. Warrenâs grip on your ass tightened with each movement you made.
âFuck baby,â he moaned. âYou do it so well.â
Your confidence was boosted; you began to move faster. This only lasted a few minutes though, much to your dismay. You werenât too athletic; you didnât have good stamina. Warren noticed this, and without saying anything he flipped your bodies. Once on top of you, he began violent thrusts. You almost screamed from the pleasure; youâd never felt anything remotely close to it in your life. He hit your cervix each time, it made your back arch off the mattress and your nails dig into his back.
âWarren,â you whimpered. âOh, fuck Warren.â
One of his hands wrapped around your neck. He didnât squeeze, he just rested it there. You felt the knot in your stomach form at this. It felt so good to be dominated by him. It had been your dream for weeks, and it had finally come true. You closed your eyes and let the feeling of Warren fucking you fill your senses.
When you came, you practically screamed his name. You swore you could see stars. Youâd never experienced an orgasm so hard in your life. Warren came a few seconds after you, you felt his dick pulsing inside you. He collapsed on you. You didnât care about how his weight crushed you, you still held him as the two of you began to come down from your highs.
~~~
As the crew packs up, you remain in your chair, staring blankly out one of your windows. The interviewer is still across from you, but you donât notice until he speaks.
âJust tell me one thing, off the record,â he says, grabbing your attention. âDid you love him?â
A small smile grows on your lips. âWith all my heart.â

Bittersweet Symphony: Chapter 2.
"You're so beautiful like this," You looked over at the man sitting at his desk, a small smile across his face, illuminated by the small lamp. "Like what? Sleep deprived, haven't showered in 3 days, living off energy drinks and spite?" You joked, shifting a bit self consciously on the leather couch. Rafael gave a small chuckle, "Like you. Looking at you like this, I don't think you've ever looked so beautiful,"
âYou need to eat,â.
Carisiâs voice next to you brought you out of your self-induced misery. The cursor on the computer screen blinked a few times before you turned to face your partner. âI ate,â you argued, pulling out a packet of rice paper biscuits.
âYou know, when my sister was pregnant, there was this little bakery a few blocks from her apartment that made these scones with ginger and chamomile. Iâll see if they still make them and bring them over some time.â
You smiled weakly at his thoughtfulness, but your stomach turned at the thought of food. âThanks, Sonny, but Iâm fine. Really. Me and food aren't really getting along at the moment.â
Carisiâs eyes softened with concern. âYou need to eat,â he repeated gently. âItâs not just about you anymore.â
You sighed, knowing he was right. The stress from the ongoing case had been overwhelming, leaving you nauseous and exhausted. All you wanted was to go into the back room and sleep the rest of the day away. Just as you were about to respond, Carisi reached out and took the packet of rice paper biscuits from your hand, replacing them with a granola bar from his pocket.
âAt least try this,â he urged. âItâs got nuts and dried fruit. Better than those biscuits. More nutritious for you and the baby.â
You took the granola bar, unwrapping it slowly. The sweet, nutty apricot smell was surprisingly appetizing. You took a tentative bite, and to your relief, it went down easier than expected.
âBetter?â Carisi asked, a hopeful glint in his eyes.
âYeah,â you admitted. âThanks, Sonny.â
He smiled, the worry lines on his face easing. âYou know Iâm here for you, right? Whatever you need, just let me know. I'll bring some more of those over to you later on.â
âI know,â you said softly. âAnd I appreciate it. More than you know.â
He patted your shoulder gently. âGood. Now, letâs take a five-minute break. Weâve been at this for hours, and you need to relax.â
You nodded, grateful for the reprieve. The two of you walked to the break room, where Carisi made a pot of herbal tea. As you sat together, sipping the warm tea, you felt a sense of calm wash over you.
âYouâre a good friend, Sonny,â you said, breaking the comfortable silence.
He chuckled. âJust doing my job. Canât have my partner running on empty, especially now.â
The sincerity in his words touched you deeply. You knew he wasnât just talking about the job; he genuinely cared about your well-being, you knew that all he wanted was what was best for you and the small being inside you. The past few weeks he had been the one constant in your life, from the moment you told Liv and the look of shock on her face "Is it-?", to Amanda giving you tips and offering you her daughters old baby clothes "I know you've only just gone into your second trimester but its better to be over prepared then under prepared trust me,".
âThanks for looking out for me,â you said, feeling a surge of gratitude.
âAnytime,â Carisi replied with a warm smile. âWeâre in this together. I told you this. It's you, me, the fetus in there and even Barba if he ever gets his head out of his assâ There was a silence that fell between you, and you knew what was coming next, "Have you heard from him?" You paused mid chew,
the granola bar suddenly feeling like lead in your mouth. You took a slow sip of tea, trying to buy yourself a moment to compose your thoughts. âNo, I havenât,â you finally admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
Carisiâs expression was a mix of concern and frustration. âItâs been weeks, hasnât it?â
âYeah,â you said, avoiding his gaze. The pain of Rafaelâs absence was a constant ache in your chest. âI thought heâd come around by now, but⊠nothing.â
Carisi sighed, leaning back in his chair. âI know heâs got his reasons, but this isnât fair to you. Or the baby. Have you asked Liv if she had heard from him?â You gave a small shrug, "Lets be real for a moment, if she had heard from him she would still leave it up to him to come to me. She wouldn't tell me,"
You nodded, blinking back the tears that threatened to spill over. âI just donât understand how he can be so distant. I thought we were in this together.â
âPeople react to things in different ways,â Carisi said gently. âBut that doesnât make it any easier for you.â
âI just wish heâd talk to me,â you murmured, feeling the familiar wave of sadness wash over you. âI donât even know if he wants to be involved anymore. I feel like my whole life is on pause waiting for him. Whether it be waiting for him to call me, or to come back or something. I feel like I'm just stuck in this space and I can't even move on from him until I get some type of closureâ
Carisi reached out, taking your hand in his. âListen, no matter what happens with Rafael, youâre not alone. Youâve got me, and youâve got the squad. Weâll get through this together.â
âThank you, Sonny,â you said, squeezing his hand. âI donât know what Iâd do without you.â
âYouâre stronger than you think,â he replied with a reassuring smile. âBut Iâm here for you, every step of the way.â
<:>
Later that evening, as you sat alone in your apartment, the silence was deafening. You picked up your phone, scrolling through old messages from Rafael, trying to make sense of his sudden withdrawal. Your heart ached with longing and confusion. Finally, you decided to call him, hoping to break the silence.
The phone rang a few times before going to voicemail. You took a deep breath and left a message, your voice trembling. âRafael, itâs me. I just⊠I need to know whatâs going on. Please, call me back. We need to talk.â
You hung up, feeling a mix of relief and dread. You had put yourself out there, and now all you could do was wait. As the minutes turned into hours, the weight of uncertainty settled heavily on your shoulders. <:>
The next morning, you arrived at the precinct feeling more exhausted than usual. Carisi noticed immediately, his brow furrowing with concern. âAny news?â he asked quietly.
You shook your head, trying to keep your emotions in check. âNo. Nothing.â
He sighed, pulling you into a comforting hug. âIâm sorry. But remember, weâre here for you. Whatever happens, youâre not alone.â
As the day wore on, you threw yourself into work, trying to keep your mind off the unanswered questions and unspoken words. But every time your phone buzzed, your heart skipped a beat, hoping it was Rafael.
It wasnât until late afternoon that you finally received a text. Your hands shook as you opened the message.
âCan we meet? - Rafaelâ
<:>
You couldnât stop the constant twisting and turning of your stomach. Despite how hungry you felt- the rumbling in your stomach reminding you that youâve barely eaten anything all day-you couldnât help the small gag that came over you when the coffee was brought to your table.
God you felt so angry.
The white hot anger that twisted and turned in your stomach with every breath you took. You wanted to yell, you wanted to scream, you wanted to shake him and ask him why you werenât good enough.
Why did he abandon you?
The silence between you and the man in front of you made your heart ache, conversation between you both used to flow so easily but now, now you couldnât find a single word to say to him. You knew there was so much you wanted to say, to tell him. There was so many questions you wanted to ask him. So many Whyâs you needed answers to, but nothing could come out of your dry lips.
âIs it mine?â.
The words left his mouth quietly, as if he was ashamed for asking. Your head shot up, meeting his brown eyes with your own, the question lingering in the air between you.
Is it mine?
Those words made you feel a hatred you hadnât ever felt towards Rafael Barba. Not when you first met, not when you would be left red-faced after a lashing from the former ADA, not ever.
âWhat do you mean is it mine? Of course itâs yours. There isnât anyone else Iâd-â you swallowed deeply, looking back into the brown liquid inside the cup before pushing it away from you, the smell making you want to regurgitate what little food Carisi managed to shove down your throat before you came.
âWhere were you?â You heard your voice break, you wished that you had gotten a glass of water in before starting this conversation. The tears started welling up in your eyes, âI needed you and you werenât there. Not just for this but for so much more. I woke up, and all you had left me was a note. No one had known where you had gone and I thought-â You swallowed deeply and began picking at your nails, an anxious trait you had inherited from your grandmother, âI donât even think it matters anymore. You made your choice,â You stopped picking your nails and looked up, seeing him look at you with an indescribable sadness across his face.
âOf course it matters. I hurt you and for that nothing I do can make up for it. After what happened I couldnât put you through that. Could you have really been with someone who was labelled a baby killer?â He gave a sarcastic scoff, âI love you. I could never have asked you to give up your career to come with me. To run away with me,â
âBut I would have,â You didnât hesitate to interject, âIf you would have asked me to resign and come live in the middle of nowhere with you then I would have,â Your voice rose slightly earning glares from the few patrons in the cafe, âBut you took that choice from me thinking you were doing some noble shit. And now Iâm pregnant, trying to make decisions that I canât make by myself. I was alone, I was heartbroken and you werenât there,â
âAnd Iâm sorry I wasnât. But Iâm here now, Iâm here to support you whatever you choose to do,â He went to reach across the table for you but you moved away. The thought of the man you once loved touching you made your skin crawl, you saw who he was and it made you feel sick.
His hand moved back to his cup, âAre you keeping it?â
You let out a small sigh and nodded, âYep. I donât-I donât think I could go through with it. I thought about it, especially since you made it pretty clear you want nothing to do with me, but this is what Iâm doing. I'm just over 14 weeks now, so either way this is where we're at. Whether it be with you as co-parents or without you,â
âI was hoping we could talk about that?â
You raised a single eyebrow, motioning for him to continue.
âThere wasnât a day that went by when I didnât think about you, or what you were doing. I never stopped loving you,â
âYeah you did. You stopped loving me the day you walked out. Iâm not doing this again. I let you in, it took us so long to get where we were. It took years for us to be together and you threw it away because of your ego and your assumptions. I wonât make the same mistake again,â You reached into your small black purse, ruffling around for some bills for the untouched decaf.
âDonât worry about it, Iâll pay,â Rafael stated simply.
You stood up, a bit unstable in your feet as vertigo hit; you paused for a moment before turning to face the man across from you, âThe difference between you and me is that when I said Iâd love you forever I meant it. You just donât seem to get it, what youâve done. You think that you can come back and walk into my life and nothing has changed. But Rafael everything has changed; everything has changed between us. Do you know what I think? I donât think you came back here for me, I think you came back for something else. Otherwise where were you weeks ago when I called you?â For the first time since you've known him, there was no words which had left his mouth. No sarcasm or sass, no sincerity or words that could make your heart stop in your chest. There was just silence from him. A silence which made your heart break and your decision final. "Did Liv call you here?" You asked with an air of finality, your voice trembling but resolute. You needed to know, even if it shattered the last remnants of hope you clung to.
Rafaelâs face contorted with a mix of guilt and sorrow. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. The silence between you stretched, thick and suffocating.
âThatâs what I thought,â you said softly, more to yourself than to him. The reality of the situation washed over you, leaving you feeling hollow.
âPlease, let me explain,â Rafael finally managed, his voice barely audible. âLiv did call me. She told me about your condition, how you were struggling. She thought I should know. But I came back because I needed to see you, to try and make things right.â
You shook your head, a bitter smile forming on your lips. âYou had every opportunity to come back on your own. But it took Liv calling you to get you here. That says it all, doesnât it?â
âI know I failed you,â he admitted, his voice breaking. âI thought I was doing the right thing, protecting you from my mess, but all I did was hurt you more. Iâm sorry.â
âSorry doesnât change what happened,â you replied, the anger and hurt bubbling up again. âSorry doesnât change the fact that you abandoned me when I needed you the most. I canât trust you, Rafael. Not anymore.â
He looked down at his hands, clasped tightly around his coffee cup. âI understand. I just⊠I want to be there for our child. I want to make things right, if youâll let me.â
You took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself. âI appreciate that you want to be involved now, but itâs too late for us. I canât go back to the way things were. But for the sake of our child, we can try to co-parent. We can try to make this work for them.â
Rafael nodded, tears glistening in his eyes. âIâll do whatever it takes. I promise.â
You stood up, feeling a strange sense of relief mixed with sadness. âWeâll see. But for now, I need some space. I need to figure out how to move forward from this.â
He rose as well, looking at you with a mixture of regret and hope. âI understand. Take all the time you need.â
You turned and walked away, leaving Rafael standing there in the cafĂ©. As you stepped outside, the cool air hit your face, and you took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the past few weeks slowly lifting off your shoulders. It wasnât going to be easy, but you knew you had the strength to face whatever came next.

Coffee Runs
Summary: The guy who's been coming to the cafe you work at finally asked why you've never called him by his name.
A/N: I'm sorry this story is so late, especially since I missed Monday's post. School has been so busy this week and I've also had a bunch if extracurricular lately. I'll try and be more on time from now on (Don't hold me to that) Also! I got the idea for this one shot from @hanllo-kitty
Word Count: 0.8k
Song Suggestions: Invisible String - Taylor Swift
It was a good job, a great job really. The cafe was in a nicer part of town and people would subconsciously give nice tips so your pay was good. Rarely were customers terrible. Most people that came in were students or really busy people rushing in and going.
There were a few regulars. Like Joe, Joe was an eighty year old man who came in everyday for a coffee and a sandwich. While he waited he would talk about the lotto numbers and how his kids were doing. There was also Lola, she was a journalist who spent most of her day sitting in the corner of the cafe while refilling the same cup until closing.
But there was only one regular you would think about while getting ready for work.
Come on, I don't know his name. Don't shoot the messenger.
He'd been coming in for the past three months almost everyday, right after the cafe opened for a coffee. He always looked a little tired and acted like it too. He barely made conversation and normally shuffled out of the store in the same fashion as the other overworked people; quickly.
You hadn't learned his name yet. He always seemed to forget to say it when you asked, which resulted in you making up something.
"Guy with the sweater vest!"
"Guy in the purple!"
"Guy with the scarf!"
You get the point.
He was your favourite regular because of his looks. God, even when he was incredibly sleep deprived he looked beautiful. He had brown hair that fell just below his sharp jaw. Brown eyes that always happened to be in the light from the cafe window, making the small gold flakes in his eyes shine. He was normally dressed in a sweater vest and neutral pants, he probably worked at some type of office. The one part of him that stood out in his outfits were his converse, odd for the rest of his outfit. You could've sworn a few times you saw brightly coloured mismatched socks.
***
The sound of the cafe bell echoed through the nearly empty shop, having only opened half an hour ago. Smiling in the direction of the person walking in you quickly noticed it was 'Guy with *whatever he had on*" who came in. Something was different, he had thick glasses on. That was new.
"Hey, just the regular coffee and donut?" You put the order into the computer, looking back up at him. Taking in the new look.
"Yeah, thanks." His lips creased into a line, you called it a tired smile, the same one he made everyday. He handed over his money and poured the change into the tip jar then stepped back to wait for his order.
A couple minutes later you came back to the counter with his order. "Guy with the glasses!"
He did his usual, smiled and grabbed his order saying bye. But just when he reached the threshold of the door he paused and turned. "Why do you do that?"
Having already turned around you paused, this was the first time he'd talked to you in a clear voice. You weren't really sure what he meant. "Do what? Did I get your order wrong?"
He cleared his throat and seemed a little frustrated. "You never say my name, you just call me guy with something. Is it just to annoy me?"
"What? No, you've just never told me your name." Laughing a little, realising the misunderstanding.
"I didn't?" His face changed to confusion, "Oh my gosh, I didn't." He realised his mistake then his face flushed a shade of red.
"Don't worry, it's okay. Guy with the glasses." You laughed, looking around the cafe for a minute, strange it was still pretty empty.
"I am so sorry, I thought I told you and you just wanted to annoy me. I feel like a jerk, you seem so nice." Genuinely sorry he apologised profusely. "Can I make it up to you?"
Deciding to take the chance, you'd been daydreaming about this guy for months. "Well, maybe you could take me on a date." A little shocked by your own boldness, your face went up like twelve degrees.
"Uh, yeahâŠ" He trailed off, clearly flustered. "Yeah, I would really like that."
"Well then, it's a date." You beamed, internally jumping up and down out of excitement. Since when were you so forward? He made that smile he made everyday before turning towards the door again.
That's when you realised.
"Wait!" You shouted, louder than you expected. Causing your coworker to drop a cup. "You still haven't told me your name."
"It's Spencer. I'll make sure to be back tomorrow." He nodded again and chuckled lightly before finally walking through the door.
God could tomorrow morning come any quicker.

summary: 5 Years of Marriage should mean something, right? Well your Husband did not seem to think so.
content: Husband Seokmin x reader, cheating, marriage, fights, mentions of sex, heartbreak
wc: 2.9k
a/n: angst is my second name, I love drama and I love heartbreak..
As her petite Hand held on to the Sink, she took a deep breath. She felt slightly dizzy; her mind had been clouded for the last few days. She took the pot off the Stove and put the Stew she freshly made into a container.
The steaming stew made the entire house smell like it.
She grabbed the Blue Lunch bag she always packed for him, that he forgot this morning and scribbled down some cute Lines on to the Sanrio-themed paper.
She was a sucker for cute Stationary.
When she got down to their shared Garage, she spotted her Black Audi, the one he gifted her one year ago, as a Birthday gift. She buckled up and drove to the Company Building, She drove towards the security gates, and the Man smiled "Good Afternoon Mrs., are you here to see the Husband?" he smiled sheepishly, and a giggle escaped her glossy pink lips "He forgot his food so I made some fresh Lunch"
"What a Lucky man he is," the elder man grinned. "Enjoy!" he said, opening the gate, and she drove inside, parking in her own spot. Above the parking lot, there was a sign with the letters "reserved for Mrs. Lee".
After their Marriage it was the first thing he did, he wanted to show the world he was taken, and he was proud of it. She remembered exactly how proudly he presented it to her with a red little silk curtain pulling it away with the biggest grin.
Walking along the marble floor was her routine now; she did know the company like the back of her hand. She greeted everyone while walking towards the elevator, and she then drove up to his floor. When the doors opened, she was greeted by the gray and Black Interior, the signature style of her Husband, Everything needed to be clean.
He was a little organize freak.
"Y/N! What brings you here?" She turned around and was faced by none other than Kim Mingyu, the best friend of her husband. "Hey Gyu, he forgot his food, so I cooked some Stew and decided to bring it over," she smiled softly. "He just finished a meeting, so you can go in."She nodded and thanked him.
When her small fist was knocking, his deep voice let her inside, her shoes clicked against the marble floor, and he looked up from the papers in front of him "Y/N" he smiled slightly.
He looked breathtaking, he was dressed in some beige slacks and a white blue striped shirt.
"You forgot your food and I thought maybe we can spend your time together" She walked behind the table, and he looked up at her, with a smile she pecked his lips "you look good today" she whispered, does not remember the last time they were intimate.
"I really need to finish those papers, so I can't join you!" he said while writing down some terms.
She sighed and nodded "I made Kimchi Jjigae your favorite with some rice, so please enjoy, I will wait at home for you" she tried her best not to sound hurt.
"I have several meetings, so please don't stay up," he said, and she nodded, leaving his office.
"Already leaving?" Mingyu asked, and she nodded "He is busy" She tried to smile, and he sighed "You know how he is".
"Yes work always comes first," she whispered, then left.
The next few weeks, nothing changed; she always did the tasks at home while working, she held meetings and combined everything to be the best wife she could be; after all, that's what she promised at the altar.
She was sitting behind her computer, editing the details on the new Design for the Lotte Tower renovation flyer. It was her biggest achievement by now; she worked so hard for this one project, and in one week there would be a big Party celebrating the new building.
The ribbon would be cut by her opening the doors for the new building.
All of her friends would be there, her Husband watching her with proud eyes, and she would feel the happiness through her entire body.
She got ready to announce the event to Seokmin, and she put on some Lingerie covered with a Satin robe. His favorite Color, red covered her body and she felt Sexy with her hair in curls. And then she heard the door open, She heard how Seokmin was taking off his shoes and then walked inside the bedroom. He opened the Wardrobe and grabbed some Pajama pants. When he took off his coat she walked outside, twirling her hair around her finger, and his eyes found hers "I thought you went out," he chuckled slightly "No, I wanted to surprise you" She took some steps towards him, saying, "I missed you and I missed spending time with you" Her slender fingers traced the buttons of his black dress shirt.Â
"I missed feeling you" she whispered while slowly unbuttoning his shirt, but he grabbed her hand "I am tired" he took her hand off and her heart felt like breaking apart "I can make you feel awake" she glided her hand along his pants and grabbed the outline off him but when he sighed she felt that nothing was happening.
She let go off him and took a step back "Then, uh, I will take a shower and let you alone" she whispered and walked inside the bathroom, she took the makeup off and brushed her teeth when he walked inside "next week Friday, I have an event, will you accompany me?" she asked him while watching him through the mirror "Yes, of course, I'll be there" he kissed her head, and they went to bed.
When the night of her Event came, she got styled and then got inside the Red dress she bought, she looked fabulous, and she felt beautiful. She could not wait to meet her friends and family there.
When she arrived at the location, she walked around, looked at everything and smiled at how good it turned out.
"Y/N you look breathtaking" Chan said with the biggest grin and a blush crept on her face "Thank you" she then saw all of her friends, Chan, Jihoon, his girlfriend Luna, Wonwoo with his girlfriend Daisy and Joshua with Minghao.
Mingyu came closer with some Champagne in his hand, and she looked around to see if Seokmin was here.. Where was her Husband?
"We are all so proud of you," Joshua exclaimed and hugged her thight "Thank you all so much," she bowed, and then It was her part where she needed to go up to cut the robe.
She quickly typed a message to her Husband.
'Y/N: Where are you?'
And she quickly gathered all her strength and went up, she took a hold of the mic and smiled "thank you all for coming, today is a beautiful evening with the best people, I can't believe the day has finally come ever since I started working with Lotte Tower my Goal as a young woman was to design the best Business area for Lotte tower, but now after all those years they trusted me and my team to design the entire renovation for the new Lotte Tower, I remember years ago when I signed my contract that I looked at my Boyfriend telling him that one day I'll stand exactly here, and he kissed my forehead telling me that he is sure that this will come true. 4 Years later I am standing here happily married, having an amazing time, and being just thankful for everything" I bowed when everyone clapped.
Her friends in the first row cheered the loudest, and she grinned slightly, looking around with no trace of her Husband, She buried those feelings deep down inside her.
This was her night, she needed to enjoy this.
When she cut the robe up she forgot about this and tried to enjoy her night.
And when she came to her small friend group, they all noticed her slumped shoulders, and she tried to put on the best fake smile she could "I'll go home" she announced when nearly everyone was gone.
"I'll bring you" Chan said, and She nodded "Thank you," but on their way, she decided she would go to his office first.
"Should I come inside with you?" he asked her, and she sighed "No, I'll be good. Thank you, thank you Chan" she smiled and went inside.
She did not smile anymore; her heart felt heavy and she just wanted to see why Seokmin had not come.
Her hands were holding her heels,her naked feet were sore from all the walking; she went upstairs with the elevator and was not surprised to see the lights on in his office, her heart was beating faster, and she felt devastated.
He really chose work over her once again.
Her feet carried her towards the door, and she could hear her faint voices. She halted in her steps and her breath hitched.
"Seok that tickles" a feminine voice stated with his deep voice followed "then I would need you to stay still" he groaned, and Y/N knew this groan, her heart felt like breaking in to a thousand pieces.
She then saw the shadows, she heard the smacking sounds, and she heard her heart, the one he once carried in his hands get thrown on to the ground by him.
"fuck you feel so good" he moaned, followed by her high-pitched moans.
Her feet carried her downstairs, she ran down the stairs, could not wait for the elevator, she felt like suffocating. She did not remember how she got home , everything was a blur from the moment she walked outside, and she just remembers falling asleep inside the bedroom.
The next morning she felt her head pounding from all the crying, she woke up by his alarm, and she heard him stirring, she squeezed her eyes shut, not wanting to cry. She felt like she was just a corpse, completely empty inside.
She thought the love between them was one of a kind, a rare gem, but it turned out it was all just a joke.
When he went into the bathroom she quickly got up putting on some dress pants and her blouse, she ran downstairs grabbing a cereal bar and putting on her loafers "you're already going?" his deep morning voice made her tense and she grabbed her bag "yes uhm I need to be in the office today" she grabbed the car keys and Seokmin hugged her from behind "and you don't tell me goodbye anymore?" he turned her around, just the look at him made her heart hurt so bad "I thought you would shower longer" she whispered and he smiled slightly "have a fun day at work" he kissed her temple and she hurried outside.
And when she was at work she realized that she promised him forever, in good times and bad times she knew she still loved him so much, their time could not be over and she will not give up, maybe this was a misunderstanding, maybe she was to drunk maybe it was a mistake.
But the next two months Seokmin blocked everything, he was only in the office and so Y/N decided it was time for her to visit him. She knew it was real and that this needs to end.
She went to the office but to her surprise her parking spot was not free, there was a Pink Lamborgini standing there and she sighed, she tried to calm her heart while she was riding the elevator upstairs.
Mingyu looked at her "Y/N, did he forget his lunch again today?" he joked, but she shook her head "It's a little more serious this time" she had a sad smile on her face, and he sighed "he's inside the office, Lee Jia is with him signing her Model Contract"
"I think for this he needs to send her out" and without hesitation and without a knock she walked inside, Lee Jia was standing next to him, she was basically pushing her cleavage into his face while reading the contract and Seokmin looked up his eyes widened slightly.
"Y/N" he whispered, Jia took a step back the diamond necklace around her neck catching your eyes, remembering the scenario two days ago.
As she cleaned the bedroom she grabbed his dirty clothes and put them in the washing machine, she grabbed the basket full of folded laundry and put everything inside when she found a little velvet box she smiled opening it she was greeted by this beautiful diamond necklace.
And maybe after all, Seokmin still would remember their 5th Anniversary.
Reality hit her harder than she would've thought "what brings you here love?" he smiled, and she gulped "can we maybe talk alone?" he furrowed his eyebrows "no it's alright I know her, she can stay" and now you knew, she is the new woman in his life.Â
"Did you park on my spot?" I turned towards her and she gulped and nodded "But kook.. I mean, Seokmin told me it was okay because you never come here" and in those five years, he never cared.. She thought "It's my spot, there is a sign that says that this is mine" she muttered "Y/N enough, I did not thought you would come here today. So why are you here"
She blinked the tears away "I just wanted to remember you that our friends will be at our place tonight" you simply decided that and he nodded "okay I'll try to come home earlier" he mumbled.
"You will be home early Seokmin, I don't ask for much so please be home tonight, this will decide everything" and with that she rushed out.
She rushed past Mingyu and just hurried home. She laid in her bed crying, praying for the time to turn back to the moment where he changed, to the moment where she fucked up where she did go wrong.
It must be her fault, right?
And when Chan and Jihoon arrived, she felt the mood lighten a bit. She talked to them, and then the others arrived, even Mingyu arrived, telling her that Seokmin was once again in a meeting. She just smiled.
She was no longer strong enough; she let her guards down.
The liquor was burning her throat but she could not care less, and when two hours later only Chan and Mingyu were left the door opened and Seokmin strolled inside. He took his Suit Jacket off and she directly spotted the fresh red patches on his neck.
"I'm sorry the meeting was longer than expected" he said while sitting down and she just scoffed "of course" Seokmin furrowed his eyebrows and shrugged it off "so is there something to celebrate tonight?" Chan coughed his eyes widened. He could not believe that his best friend was asking this right now.
He knew that you were suffering, but he would never think Seokmin was the reason for it.
"Nope, nothing" she spat dryly and got up. Chan winced "Y/N, Please" he whispered but she shook her head and looked at Mingyu "did you know?" she asked while balling her hand to fists "what?" confused Gyu looked around.
"That he fucks Lee Jia" she stated dryly, and Seokmins eyes widened. He felt his heart ready to burst at any moment.
"No, he would never, Y/N he is married?" Mingyu said shocked and she laughed "Yes, you would think that. I thought that too. I thought maybe I meant enough to him that he would tell me the mistakes, that he loves and cares about me" the tears were now rolling down her cheek
"Do you know how long I know?" she asked before continuing, "since my Lotte Tower event, where he never went to, where I wanted my Husband, where I talked about him like he was my biggest supporter because I thought he was my biggest supporter, but in reality he fucked another woman in that time, and when I looked for him, I had to witness him fucking her," her voice was full of venom.
She wiped some tears away but they continued streaming down her face "and whenever I tried to approach him he pushed me away; he was busy he was tired, and I always knew It's because he did not want me anymore" she hiccuped. "I always spotted those dumb Hickeys combined with her perfume"
Seokmin still could not find his words.
"And when I continued being a good wife, I thought maybe he would realize how much I love him. I found a necklace in his underwear drawer and thought, Wow, maybe he still remembers our anniversary, but guess who was wearing the necklace when I came to his office and guess who just fucking asked why we are celebrating" she was now furious.
"I FUCKING LOVED YOU WITH EVERY FIBER IN MY BODY" she sobbed, and Seokmin felt his heartbreak. "It's alright that you don't love me anymore; it's alright that you stood me up, but it's not okay to cheat; you could've told me you want to break up, and I know it's hard, but you broke me" she whispered, pulling out the papers she had for months now.
"I want a divorce" and with that, she walked to the door "Chan can you please take me away" she whispered and Seokmin felt the wet tears rolling down his cheek.
Within seconds, his marriage fell down the drain.Â

Happy to say I have an addiction to this man. <3
Summary: GM Reader gets a concerning phonecall about her boyfriend being arrested after assaulting AJ Styles at his home.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/280ef3e215fe66809dc81b7bd5ba2c92/2361949614a542d4-79/s540x810/6dbd884cad38843a0c3de73b9027a77ba2cf3b04.jpg)
Itâs well past midnight on the road up through rual Geargia. Youâve been on the road for about four hours now, grinding your teeth and mumbling to yourself in frustration. Roughly five hours ago you were in the middle of a meeting With your fellow GM, Adam Pearce, and a few others regarding Wrestlemania coming up when you received the most peculiar call.
Shaun Ricker aka LA Knight, both one of your employeeâs and your longterm boyfriend, has been arrested for assault and trespassing up in Georgia.
âThat motherfucker is in so much trouble.â You mumble to yourself as you pull into the precinct that you got the call from.
You head inside like a woman on a mission and make your way to the officer at the front desk. âHello, maâam. What can I do for you?â The officer asks you when you come up to her.
âHi, yeah. Iâm here to bail out my idiotic boyfriend.â You explain. âShaun Ricker? I got a call a few hours ago that he was being held here?â
The officer nods and types a few things out at her computer for a moment. You sit and wait for a minute before the officer finds the information that she needs. âAh! Here we go! We got your man on trespassing and assault, maâam.â She explains. âRight this way, Iâll take you to him.â She gets up from her desk and gestures for you to follow her.
You nod and follow the officer through the precinct and back to the holding cells. You spot Knight leaned back in his cell, head against the wall with his eyes closed.
âMr. Ricker!â The officer goes up to the cell and fishes her keys out of her pocket. âYour girlfriend is here to bail you out.â She announces.
With a hand on your hip you watch Knight open his eyes and turn toward the cell door. âYN, darlinâ!â He grins at you and rises to his feet. âI knew youâd come get me eventually.â He winks at you, arms out in front of him still locked in the officers cuffs.
âStop talking.â You snap at your boyfriend as he steps out of his cell.
The officer shuts the cell door and fishes her other set of keys out of her pocket. She uncuffs the braclets off of Knight and puts them away. âYouâre free to go, sir.â She steps out of the way.
âThank you, officer.â You nod at the officer before grabbing Knight by the arm and dragging him out of the building.
You drag Knight out to your car in silence. You both climb inside the car and sit for a moment before you start it up again.
âAre you mad at me?â Knight speaks up after a lengthy silence.
âOh, mad doesnât even begin to describe it.â You grit your teeth.
Knight nods, knowing that heâs fucked up and youâre pissed at him. âOkay. Let me have it.â His lips crease into a line as he waits for you to start berating him.
âWhat the fuck is the matter with you, Shaun!â You raise your voice, trying to focus on driving. âItâs less than a week before Mania! And you go and do something stupid like this?!â You fume. âI was in the middle of a damn meeting! Do you have any idea how bad it looks when I have to step out of one of the most important meetings of the year to take a call and find out one of my employeeâs has bee arrested for assaulting one of my other ones!?â
âIâm sorry, I wasnât thinking.â Knight rubs the back of his neck. âThank you for driving up here to come and get me.â He adds.
Your angry expression softens a bit of Knightâs apology. âCome on. I wasnât going to let you rot away in there. Itâd make me look bad. Both as your girlfriend and your boss.â You sigh.
âWhy donât you let me drive?â Knight offers in a soft tone, regonizing the bags under your eyes.
âDonât try and butter me up!â You scoff. âIâm still angry at you.â You insist.
Knight bows his head and sets a hand on your arm. âDarlinâ, Iâm not trying to do anything.â He insists. âYou drove all the way up here after youâve been at work all day. Youâre tired. Just let me drive, please.â He asks you again.
A sigh escapes your lips and you find a place to pull over to switch spots with Knight. He take over driving and you take some time to answer emails from your co-workers about everything going on.
âGreat! Thatâs just great.â You grumble to yourself when you receive an email that you were dreading.
âWhatâs the matter?â Knight glances at you briefly.
You huff and shake your head before typing out a few words. âThey want me to suspend you.â You glance over at your boyfriend.
âWell, I do sort of deserve it.â Knight shrugs. âIâll take any punishment you dish out to me. And I wonât complain.â He assures you.
You shake your head, still typing your reply out on your phone. âAfter all the trouble your ass has caused me?â You roll your eyes. âHell no! Your ass is going to work Mania night 2 against AJ and you are going to finish whatever this beef is.â You insist.
âWhatever you say, darlinâ.â Knight nods. âDoes your two boytoys know about my little run-in with the law?â He asks you, just trying to make conversation and lighten the mood at this point.
âPfft. Who do you think paid your bail?â You laugh. âCause it certainly wasnât going to be me. Not in full anyway.â You joke.
Knight laughs with you and your anger about the whole situation begins to fade away. A few hours later the two of you finally make it back to your apartment so you can get some rest. Knight takes a shower and you finish up a few more emails before you canât fight your exhaustion anymore.
Knight returns from his shower and joins you in bed. âDid I mention that I was sorry for making you drive so far to get me? And for getting you into trouble with your bosses?â He scoots over to you.
âYou did, yes.â You nod and set your phone down on the nightstand. âIt was kind of half-assed though.â You add.
âWell then let me make it up to you.â Knight replies and leans down to place a kiss on your neck. âIâm sure that I can find a way to make the trip worth your while.â He grins against your skin.

Bottom Line Up Front (John Price x Reader)
Kate updates John on what her reconnaissance has uncovered.
1k words
CW: swearing, allusion to past sexual assault
feedback welcome!
Kate checks the incoming number on her ringing cell before swiveling away from her computer screen and answering. Her favourite current retiree is checking in, right on schedule, saving her a call.Â
âJohn, how are things?â
âAlright Kate, any news there?â John asks, paused at a stop light after dropping his love off at work.Â
âYeah, actually. Letâs start with if youâre aware that thereâs a photo of you and your lady on the internet, shall we?âÂ
Kate asks, already knowing the answer.Â
âWhat?âÂ
It gets Johnâs full attention. Heâs navigating back to his loveâs place, and nearly misses his turn at Kateâs revelation.
âYeah, were you at a pub recently?â
âA few.â John stays cagey, unused to his habits off duty being under a microscope.Â
âWell, there is one over on Beecherâs Lane using a photo of you and a woman to advertise online.â Â
âAh Christ, I knew that was trouble. She does trivia nights with her mates there.â He says by way of explanation.Â
He leaves out the part about her triumphant face at finally making it on to the leader board swaying his better judgement about the photo. Years of scrupulous image control to maintain his professionalism undone a few months into dating. Bloody hell.Â
âWell, they scanned it and posted it up. I can see why though, sheâs very pretty. Well done, John. I can see why you kept her to yourself.â
âAlright, easy, youâre happily married Kate.âÂ
John reminds her, a wave of possessiveness sweeping through him.Â
âYeah, married but not dead.âÂ
âSheâs spoken for.â John growls, navigating a roundabout while Kate irritates him from afar.Â
âObviously. I did some digging on my end on the name you gave. Itâs come back with some colourful info. Heâs ex-army, dishonorable discharged for sexual assault years ago. Heâs done contract work in the past; one was with some of Col. Norrisâ men. Ring any bells on that name?âÂ
Johnâs processing as he drives, a sinking feeling in his gut.
âOf course, you think thereâs more of a connection there?âÂ
Johnâs memory of threatening the Colonel is clear as day, although it had been years and a long road since that incident. The mention of sexual assault has him tightening his grip on the steering wheel unconsciously.Â
âNorris is involved in the contract you turned down, that Gaz is on right now. Not sure yet, it is unusual that there would be a connection for a random B&E. Iâm going to keep poking around. Certainly, it feels off. Your instincts remain sound, Captain.â Kate acknowledges Johnâs talent for uncovering bullshit.
John hums, internally thankful heâs already on his way to his loveâs place to poke around and doubly grateful he turned down the contract weeks ago. He adds stopping by the pub to his list of errands.
âHe didnât put up much of a fight when I got there. You say heâs ex-army?â
âWell, personally, I think your reputation may have preceded you. If connection to you is what brought attention on her, theyâd be looking to confirm they have the right woman, not rob her. He likely would have known you on sight, probably chose the best course of action to preserve his neck in the moment when the wrong person turned up.â
Johnâs blood runs cold as he pulls into his love's driveway. He idles in the car, staring at the door and the busted doorhandle, still unfixed, as dread sits like lead in his stomach. Johnâs done too much to be naĂŻve to the potential outcomes.
âYou think someone wants to leverage her against me? Norris?â Johnâs putting the information together quickly, following instincts. Â
âMaybe. Youâve certainly given him no reason to like you, and he could be harbouring a grudge for the way his men were treated. Heâs got an ego and a chip on his shoulder. Like I said, Iâm going to keep flipping stones. Thereâs nothing solid there yet.â
John sighs, scratching his cheek before replying.
âAlright, thanks Kate. Iâd hate to be right on this, but better to get ahead of it. Maybe let Gaz know something is up, if itâs connection to me theyâre after. Better safe than sorry.â
âAlready in motion. In the meantime, it goes without saying that I would encourage you to keep her away from the apartment.â
Kate swivels back to her computer, a notification blinking in the bottom corner.
âShe wonât be going back. Sheâs moving out.âÂ
âYou found a place that quickly? Impressive, John.âÂ
Kateâs tone is vaguely distracted as she reads the incoming message.
âSheâs moved in with me.â
Thereâs a pregnant pause on the other end of the line for a moment. John has a feeling he has her full attention once again.
âWell, I suppose that makes sense, but thatâs moving faster than I would have expected from a bachelor like yourself, Captain. Whatâs next, going to marry her before spring rolls around?âÂ
John presses his lips together in exasperation. Kate is teasing but thereâs a vein of incredulity running underneath her comments that John can hear. He canât totally blame her; this part of his life had been strictly off-limits. For the exact reason unfolding now, to his immense frustration. From the outside looking in, it would look like sudden madness, heâs sure. On some level, he wonders if it is, a man like him trying to retire into a normal life.Â
âI donât need time to get to know her Kate, Iâve known her forever.â John reminds her.  âChrist, youâre making me miss dealing with Simon. He doesnât ask this many questions.â
âWho do you think found the photo, John?âÂ
He finally turns the car off, exhaling into the phone.Â
âJesus Christ, Kate.â
âHe was concerned that you were slipping, letting that get posted. Heâll be relieved to know you sniffed this out.â
âHim and I both. Keep me posted on what else you find.â
Johnâs back to giving orders heâs no longer got any business giving and Kate humours him, the stress in his voice evident to her long-trained ear.
âRog that, John. You keep yourselves safe until we get more details.â

dancing with our hands tied (part iv)
jamie tartt x female reader // nsfw 18+ // fwb
masterlist // read on ao3
summary: an emotional spiral sends you to jamie's doorstep⊠again
word count:Â 3k
this chapter took it OUT of me but i actually think this might be my fav chapter so far?? eeeee excited to share w you guys :) thanks to @hopefulromances for challenging me to write and trade feedback last night! sometimes u just need a lil extra motivation đ©đ«¶
àŒ»â§â§â§àŒș
âHey, youâre friends with Jamie, right?â
You looked up from where you were sitting at your desk to find Zach in the doorway. You were startled by his appearance.Â
After getting drinks last week, youâd gone back to his place and fell into bed. He was fun and flirty and you both had a good time, but once it was late, he asked if you needed a ride home. Youâd left after calling a ride, trying not to overthink it. It was just the beginning after all.
But it had been a week since then. Zach had been keeping his distance at work and hadnât been responding to your texts that much. You figured he was busy with the new job, so you kept yourself busy as well. But that didnât resolve the sinking feeling in your gut.
And now Zach was standing in front of you. Asking about Jamie Tartt of all things.
âHuh?â You knew you sounded dumb but you werenât sure why Zach was asking if you were friends with Jamie.
âDid I do something to upset him?â
âWhat?â you sputtered. âUm, I donât think so.â
Despite your confusion, you had also noticed Jamieâs coldness toward the new nutritionist. Richmond had a big facility and a lot of people employed, but after Ted Lasso brought his camaraderie and positivity to the entire club, it was easy to see when someone was being off-putting.Â
Since last week, you hadnât spoken to Jamie outside of your scheduled physio treatments. You werenât typically alone during your appointments, and it was always after his ludicrous amount of training which left him tired, so you hadnât had the chance to talk to him much.
âMaybe youâre reading too much into things?â you suggested. âHeâs always been kinda rockyâ youâve heard the stories.â
You didnât mention that those stories were from more than two years ago. You didnât mention that he had been much better in recent months.Â
âMaybeâŠ.â Zach replied, scratching the back of his head.Â
You clearly didnât have the answer he wanted, and the room fell into silence. You looked back at the work you had open on your computer screen, before taking a deep breath and being brave.
âHey, so I had a fun time last week,â you started with a smile. âWould you, maybe, want to go out again?â
Zach suddenly looked like he wanted to be anywhere but in the treatment room with you. You tried not to let the feeling in your gut sink even further, but you could feel the smile falling off your face.
âOh, um, Iâm gonna be busy for the next few weeks, soâŠ.â he trailed off.
You pressed your lips into a firm line, nodding once. You didnât need to hear anything else; he was clearly not interested in pursuing you further.Â
The insecurities that had lingered for a week resurfaced from the corners of your mind. Youâd gotten your hopes up again, and he clearly wasnât on the same page. It was fine. You were getting the brush off. Nothing you hadnât experienced before.
You just wished youâd known this wasnât going to be anything when you went into it. It had taken time, with each heartbreak, but you thought you had built up walls to prevent yourself from getting hurt again.Â
âOkay, yeah,â you said, âDonât worry about it.â
Zach gave you a smile that looked more like a grimace before leaving you alone.
How had everything gone to such shit?
Thereâs a reason youâd made it clear with Jamie that your relationship was just sex. If it was explicitly just sex, then you wouldnât let yourself form an emotional attachment. No point in letting your brain drift into romantic feelings. It never worked out anyways.
Thinking of Jamie brought you back to the first thing Zach said. Was there a reason Jamie was being a dick to him? You hadnât seen them interact much other than at the bar last week. While you had wanted to bite Jamieâs head off at first, by the time you had a chance to say something, he had left. There was a lot left unsaid.
And if here was anything that would get your mind off things, it would be bickering with Jamie.Â
You checked your watch, realizing most of the players were gone by this time of evening. You finished up the report you were working on. It was probably time for you to head home too.Â
And maybe youâd pay Jamie a visit on the way home, too.
àŒ»â§â§â§àŒș
Not even twenty minutes later, you were knocking on Jamieâs door unannounced. You hadnât been there since last week, but there were no cars except his parked outside, so you assumed he was the only one home.Â
When he opened the door, he seemed surprised to see you, his face going through about half a dozen different expressions before settling on raising his eyebrow in question.
âStop being a dick to Zach,â you said in lieu of greeting, walking into his home.Â
Jamie shut the door and pursed his lips. He clearly hadnât expected to be instantly berated, but it was easier to act mad at Jamie than deal with being upset with yourself.
âArenât I a dick to everyone?â he asked.
âNo, you arenât,â you rolled your eyes, and said in a smaller voice, âNot anymore.â
You crossed your arms. âBut you are acting like an asshole to Zach. Everyone sees it.â
Jamie scoffed, shaking his head.Â
âSorry,â he said, with a defeated tone, âYou can tell your boyfriend I didnât mean anything by it.â
Now it was your turn to sound defeated, âHeâs not my boyfriend.â
Jamieâs face perked up at that.
âOh yeah? Thought you two were gettinâ cozy. Gettinâ drinks at Bones and Honey.âÂ
If it was anyone else, youâd think he sounded jealous, but there was no reason for Jamie to be jealous over you. He was just poking your open wound at this point.
You huffed out a breath of air, letting your arms fall to their sides.Â
âHe brushed me off,â you said, âIf we didnât work together, he probably wouldâve ghosted me by now.â
All the frustration from the past few hours, the past few days, the past week, felt like it was bubbling to the surface. It wasnât even like this was a new thing. You were just tired of the same thing always happening. Even when you tried to protect yourself, you still ended up getting hurt.
You were so focused on blinking rapidly to dispel the tears in your eyes that you didnât notice Jamie wrapping you in a tight hug. You stood frozen for a moment, before wrapping your arms around his torso and nuzzling your face into his shoulder.Â
The hug was so tight and warm and surprising, but it made you feel the best youâd felt in weeks, months. You didnât even realize you were fully crying until you moved slightly and felt the wet patch of fabric on his shoulder.Â
You pulled away a bit and tried taking some deep breaths, while Jamie brushed his fingers through your hair. As soon as he whispered your name, you pulled back further, still enveloped in his arms.Â
âSorry, sorry, I know this isnât what we normally do,â you said. Your relationship consisted of arguments and sex, not tears and warm hugs.Â
He shook his head, leaning in to press a kiss to your forehead. âWhatâs wrong?âÂ
The tender tone, the soft look in his eyes, the delicate physical contact, made you start crying all over again. He gently led the two of you over to the couch, sitting down with you in his lap.Â
âI justââ you sniffled, and it all came spilling out. âI just don't know what I'm doing ever. Everything I do seems wrong. I try to go after the things I want and it's never enough. I give too much, and yet not enough, and- and it's all shit.âÂ
Jamieâs brows furrowed together as you stared at his face. You focused on the line of his jaw and the grooves of his nose instead of his eyes. You didnât want to meet his eyes. His hand gently grasped your chin to direct your gaze.
âYouâre okay,â he murmured, as you held eye contact. âThings are hard, but theyâve always been hard, and youâve made it through. You deserve good things. Youâll get them. You have them.âÂ
Those words were tender and sweet and all you wanted to hear, but a part of you refused to let yourself believe them.
âYeah, okay,â you rolled your eyes lightly. âI guess.â
He let out a huff of frustration, before rearranging you to straddle his thighs. His arms squeezed your shoulders, but not in a domineering way; it felt soft, comforting.Â
His hands were warm as they ran across your skin to your cheeks, holding your face to keep your eyes connected. He wiped the tears from your cheeks. His face held a hundred emotions and you werenât sure what to make of any of it.Â
âYou have me,â he said.
You took a sharp intake of breath at his words. The words burned into your mind.
It was true. You did have Jamie. And he had you. In some sort of way. And for now, it would be enough.
He placed a soft kiss to your forehead, and then to both of your cheeks, lingering so close you could feel his exhales and swore you could hear your heartbeats in the space between.Â
Then, he seized your mouth in a kiss, and it was like no other kiss youâd shared with him. While others were passionate and full of angry emotions, this was full of something raw, something untethered to your pre-existing idea of Jamie.
As you explored each other's mouths, you found yourself grinding against his lap, letting a moan out as you felt overcome with emotion. His hands ran through your hair, and you flexed your fingers under the fabric of his shirt, feeling the expanse of warm skin on his stomach.Â
You tugged his shirt over his head, which broke the kiss, but you took the moment to take a breath. He kissed your cheek, your jaw, your neck, as he moved to remove your shirt as well.Â
âFuck, angel,â he said, and it felt like you were seeing each other for the first time.
It didnât take long to remove more clothes, explore more of each other, before you finally sat down, feeling his dick slide into you.Â
For a brief minute, you were frozen, breathing in each otherâs air, staring at each other, taking in the moment. Then, heïżœïżœïżœs rocking into you and youâre meeting his thrusts, but it's slow, it's choppy in a heavenly way that you didnât realize could exist between the two of you.Â
âThis feel good, yeah?â he asked, and you replied with a whimper of an affirmation. âTell me this dick makes you feel good.â
âIt does,â you managed to say, âYou make me feelâŠâ
He moved his hips in a way that made you see stars, leaving the last of your sentence unfinished. You scraped your nails through his hair, hearing something like a growl at the back of his throat. The sound spurred you on, rocking your hips with more determination.
âThatâs it, baby, thatâs a good girl,â he panted, reaching to connect your lips once more.Â
You wanted to swallow him whole, wanted this moment to never end. His words were hot, but also flooded you with a different kind of warmth. You wondered if he even knew what he was saying.Â
He tore his lips away after a moment and while you tried to gasp for breath, his next words made you nearly come on the spot.
âMy good girl,â he whispered across your ear, before gripping your hips and focusing on where the two of you were connected.
The possessiveness in his voice tracked fire through your veins.Â
You were close. You had to be. Despite how much you wanted to make this last forever, the heightened emotions were making things too much. You were feeling everything so intensely.Â
He knew you were close, as he said, âHey, look at me.â
You caught his eyes, watching each otherâs faces as you finally came. Your jaw hung open, gripping his shoulders. You clenched around him as you rode out your high, and he came soon after.Â
You sat there for a few moments, listening to your breathing and heartbeats mixing together.Â
His hands drifted across your back in lazy motions as you nuzzled your cheek into the crook between his shoulder and neck. Jamieâs heartbeat was in his throat, his pulse racing. You could barely process everything you were feeling. What must he be feeling?
You had definitely calmed down after your spiral earlier this evening. Being with Jamie seemed to make everything else melt away.Â
He readjusted you on his lap and pulled up his underwear. He grabbed his shirt from earlier and slipped it over your head. He cleared his throat, but didnât fully pull away from you.
âI know you usually leave but,â he picked you up as he stood from the couch, âNot lettinâ you go home and spiral more. Youâre staying tonight. Come on.â
He led you upstairs to his room, grabbing some new clothes from the dresser before guiding you into the bathroom.Â
You didnât do anything as you watched him turn on the shower and wait until the temperature was hot. It had been a while since youâd been in a shower with someone else, but you had a feeling this wasnât going to be like those times.Â
As soon as the shower was a good temperature, he stepped in, beckoning you to join him. He was offering without forcing you. You fought the smile creeping onto your face at his gentle expression.Â
He guided you under the stream of water, combing his hands through your hair and lathering it with shampoo. The entire bathroom filled with the familiar smell of his hair products, and you felt a sense of satisfaction at knowing your own hair would smell like his soon.Â
You took turns washing each other, nearly silent the entire time. It was an intimate act, and you found yourself clinging to Jamie maybe even more than earlier.Â
You could feel the trails of tears across your cheeks from earlier wash away, but you could now barely remember why youâd been crying. Over some boy at work? You were all wrapped up in Jamie in the present moment.Â
But this is what youâd been afraid of all along. This thing with Jamie was no longer just sex to you. And youâd known from the beginning, that if you let yourself fall for Jamie, it was over. He would ruin everyone else for you.Â
What, with his silly outfits, and funny yet frustrating conversations, and the way he seemed to know your body even better than you did.Â
You doubted this was anything else for him, you didnât fit the profile of people he dated, you told yourself not to get your hopes up. You had shoved those feelings in a drawer at the back of your mind and hoped if you told yourself it was just sex, you wouldnât fall for him.
But somewhere between the arguments and the sex, you held real conversations with him, confided in him, looked forward to seeing him each day.
Maybe it was already too late. The thought had your eyes welling up with more tears, but luckily you were facing the shower wall, as he rinsed the conditioner out of your hair.Â
By the time the both of you were done, the tears had subsided, and you turned around to give him a watery smile.Â
When you stepped out of the shower, Jamie wrapped you in a fluffy towel and your heart squeezed at the domesticity of it all.Â
âBetter?â he asked.
You nodded. You were feeling a lot better. Even if you were finally acknowledging the romantic feelings wedged deep inside of you. Even if those romantic feelings ended up being your downfall.
He grabbed the clothes heâd brought into the bathroom and divided them between you both. Two pairs of sweat shorts and two t-shirts. You knew you were going to drown in the fabric before you even put them on. You were proven right as he slid the shorts up your legs and tied off the drawstring to keep them up. You both chuckled at the sight.
After brushing your teeth, stealing some of Jamieâs skincare, and drying your hair, you didnât have any objections as you both got into bed. He pulled you halfway across the mattress, to wrap his arms around you in the middle of the bed.Â
âIâve got training with Roy at four a.m., but Iâll be back before you wake up. Usually get back for breakfast around seven.â Jamie mumbled as he turned off the bedside lamp and wrapped his arms around you.
âFour in the morning?â you asked, âWhat are you going to do, bury a body?â
He chuckled, âWouldnât put it past Grandad, but no, we usually just go for a run.â
You shook your head at the absurdity. Even though you worked at the football facility, it was easy to forget that Jamie was a professional athlete when it was just the two of you, tucked away beneath his sheets.
As you felt yourself getting sleepy, you traced the tattoos across Jamieâs forearm in the faint light, feeling his breathing deepen as he drifted off to sleep. The lull of his exhales across your earlobe soon brought sleep to you as well.
