"I Must Make You the Perfect Morning" Jade Leech x GN Reader
Synopsis: Jade executes his morning routine with only one thing on his mind: You.
Word Count: ~1.3k
A/N: I promise I'm going too write non-yandere stuff again soon I just had two yandere ideas at once, this one is def creepier than my other fic just a heads up
Warnings: Yandere Jade, creepy/stalker behavior that escalates throughout
You’re the first thing on his mind when he opens his eyes. The thought of you immediately wipes all traces of sleep from his brain, and he’s already awake and alert. He sits up in his bed and finds the sun hasn’t even risen. Before, he might’ve taken a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet to himself. These days, he simply doesn’t have time. His day starts hours before anyone else’s, and all for one specific purpose.
He must make you the perfect morning.
In his room, he begins by preparing himself for the daunting task. He keeps a detailed itinerary of his plans and route that he quickly glosses over for the umpteenth time. He dresses very casually, with a dark hoodie and pants. His school clothes are folded and placed in a bag with care, so as not to wrinkle them. He takes said bag and slings it over his shoulder before quietly stepping out.
The next stop is the lounge kitchen.
With access to all the ingredients the lounge uses, he’s always able to cook up something you like. Your favorite flavors, every like and dislike he’s managed to coax out of you, they’re all memorized. He knows them like the back of his hand. As are those of your closest friends. If he could curse the food without hurting you, he would, since he knew if they asked you'd be too kind not to share. So instead he intentionally chooses something they wouldn’t like, but you would. Not that they even hung around you much anymore, he had made sure of that. So with your preferences in mind, he prepares a lunch for you. Only you.
The next stop is your dorm.
It was while Azul had kicked you out of Ramshackle that he had found his entrance in. A broken window in the back that he and Floyd hadn’t gotten around to repairing while they were there. He silently slips into your dorm, and begins the most crucial part of his routine.
He starts by cleaning. He knows the closet where you keep your cleaning products, and is familiar with the areas of your dorm that accumulate dirt the fastest. With all the old decor and furniture, dust is inevitable. So he does it for you. He’s diligent in his task, also tossing out any trash he notices and washing any dishes left in your sink. If he finds anything belonging to another student that had visited, it's discarded immediately. He sweeps, he mops, he does it all. Anything he can imagine being a nuisance for you is handled with care. All while he’s being mindful not to make any noise and interrupt your hard-earned slumber.
The next stop is your room.
He stares at you from your doorway. He takes a few steps towards you, and continues to just stare. He loves how you look when you’re sleeping. Rarely does he get to see you looking so peaceful and relaxed. The way your hair is already kind of sticking out funny makes him smile, you were always so endearing. Feeling brave, he holds a piece of it in his hand tenderly. He stands there for another moment, just feeling the texture of your hair in his palm. The sensation combined with the proximity to you has his heart racing so fast he’s almost worried you’ll hear it. He gently lets go and steps away, waiting until he’s finally had his fill of looking at you to move on.
He doesn't go overboard when tidying your room, he has to make sure he's incredibly quiet and wouldn't want to accidentally get rid of something important to you. He mostly just picks up laundry of yours and organizes anything that he thinks needs it. He's careful when he takes clothes of yours, knowing that you'll notice if things you wear frequently go missing. Today, he takes a hoodie he finds lying on the floor by your dresser that he hasn't seen you wear much, but still smells like you when he lifts it to his face.
The next stop is your bathroom. He'll admit, this one is more for him than you.
He’s not proud of how much time he spends there, but he can’t help it. It makes him feel connected to you, to get ready in the same place you do. It’s here he changes into his school clothes and discards his other outfit into his bag with the hoodie he's taken. It’s here he washes his face with your products, washes his hands with your soap, dries them on your towels. It's like he can feel you through every item he touches.
It’s here he brushes his hair with your brush. The bristles running across his scalp send shivers down his spine when he imagines you using it yourself. He does clean it after, though only so he can see strands of your hair mixed with his when he does. It’s here he’s thought about using your toothbrush too, countless times. The temptation fills his head again the longer he looks at it, but he knows he can't. His serrated teeth would certainly tear the flimsy thing to shreds, so he settles for just holding it in his hand and imagining it.
It’s only when the sunrise finally starts streaming through your bathroom window that he puts it back. He leaves, closing the bathroom door gingerly and stalking back through the dorm. He exits the same way he arrived, and hurries away just as he hears your alarm sound off from inside.
The final stop is just outside the hall of mirrors.
He stands there with eyes trained on the entryway, eagerly awaiting your appearance. You eventually arrive and greet him politely. He presents you with the lunch he made, only grinning courteously when you took it but internally feeling incredibly giddy. You’d been caught off guard the first few times he brought you lunch like this, wary of being tricked into owing him something. But he was insistent, he worked so hard to make it after all. Now, you simply accepted it without question and thanked him.
You used to walk with your friends to class, but they’ve been avoiding you more and more lately. You’re not sure why, and when you asked Jade he said he hadn’t heard anything from them. He did however offer to walk you there himself. This had recently become your new normal, making pleasant conversation with Jade as you made your way to class.
You mention that you swear your dorm was cleaner than when you had fallen asleep again.
“It’s just so weird. I swear I left dishes in the sink, but they were all put away. I’m pretty sure the whole place got dusted too.”
“I see. Does it make you happy? Waking up to find your problems have been taken care of?” “I guess? I mean, it’s confusing but it’s less for me to do.”
Had you seen the glint in his eye when he asked you, you might have been more careful about agreeing. Not that it mattered now, he heard what he needed to.
He smiled, content with how his actions had all played out again. He was satisfied that he had met his goal again, just like he had yesterday. And the day before. And the day before that.
He had made you the perfect morning.
You had certainly made his morning perfect as well, but you didn’t need to know that.

🍪08 | Ditch The Navy
Tumblr media
♡𓂃 Pairing -> (Former) Knight! Huening Kai x Seamstress! Reader
♡𓂃 Synopsis -> Growing up, you never believed in purpose, nor destiny. Simply following the path of life, becoming a royal seamstress didn't at all seem like a bad idea. Only thing is, it wasn't your idea.
Your best friend who just so happens to be the crowned prince knows what it's like to grow up having limited choices, and Prince Kang Taehyun doesn't want the same happening to you. The commander knight, in turn, has other plans for the future. After Huening Kai closes a profound chapter of his life, he seeks refuge from the chaos of his past, opting for a cozier lifestyle instead.
... And it just so seems that those plans wouldn't be fulfilled without you.

Tumblr media
Six years.
It took Huening Kai six years to finally get to where he is today.
And, God did he feel like he’s about to throw up at any given moment.
In a good way.
In the best way.
Today marks the day he will not only officially own the title of a knight, but as Prince Taehyun’s right-hand man.
Basically automatically securing his position as Commander Knight for future endeavours once they grow older, as Taehyun had explained it to him weeks ago.
So yeah, basically he’s going from trainee to the head of the knight crew overnight.
Totally not daunting, at all.
Pressure aside, this was truly more than he could ever ask for. It’s what has gotten the boy kicking his feet in the air back at his dorm room late at night, talking to his supportive peers with an unwipable grin on his face, live love laughing 24/7.
And the best part about all of this is that the Queen accepted his one and only special request for the grand ceremony: A specially tailored armour for the event.
The Queen would’ve ordered the best seamstresses in the kingdom to get a proper shiny gold fit tailored just for the young knight.
However, the young knight in question didn’t believe anyone could possibly make an outfit quite as delectable as you did.
You had never in your life made an armour before.
In the dressing studio, you sit and stare, on a button-based stool, heel on the footrest, elbow on your knee, chin on your hand. Thinking thoughts. Your cutting-edge stare sending the boy in front of you statue-still, his back needle-straight. It was like he was barely breathing.
"...You don't like the navy, do you?" You point out the heaps of deep blue radiating off of his cape.
Huening Kai nods slowly.
"Yeah, no, let's ditch the navy."
Scrapping the typical armour down the laundry shoot, you opted for something less… scary. Something that didn’t scream ‘I’m am half transformer with fourteen working rifles in my pelvis and canons in my pectorals’ or ‘COMMANDER KNIGHT HERE AT YOUR SERVICE, BOW BEFORE ME.’
You took a long look at his shoulders, the broad of his chest, his hinged waistline. In your mind, an outfit comes together...
A shimmery silver-white blouse made of silk with transparent polymer buttons, a white fur collar draping the sides of his shoulders with a matcha-green tint on its ends, a bulky brown woven belt over a pair of formal white trousers. To still achieve that knight look, on the first half of his body, light inked sketches of vines lining his chest and shoulder plating would be attached over his shoulders under the fur collar, and the second half of his body would be covered in metal plating.
This could work.
This could absolutely work.
Huening Kai wanted to explode into a million different pieces and never be put together again.
In this palace he’s rarely ever been inside of, in this small studio filled with fabrics and timeless clothes and short ceilings where the air squeezes in on him, you’ve been so dangerously close to the poor boy for the past half an hour, measuring and readjusting his breastplate and the process was so grueling so torturous so heavenly all at the same time and he can’t take it anymore.
It didn’t help at all that you were his designer.
Taehyun wouldn’t have ever guessed it either, you in the place of a professional seamstress, at sixteen? He knows his bestie is super talented-gorgeous-magnificent-show-stopping-jaw-dropping but what are the odds?
The entire time it was just the two of you and Huening Kai didn’t know why that made him feel weird and mushy and explosive, as if the both of you have never hung out one on one before.
Perhaps all those other times were different.
Because he was a knight-in-training.
He was at the palace grounds training for his future and you, too, were at the palace grounds for seemingly no reason at all.
He’d stare at the sidelines hoping you’d watch and of course you do, you always do, even when the heat threatens to bake you alive, you’d tail along a crochet kit or embroidery supplies and watch him and he’d catch you staring and then his insides start feeling weird but he just can’t look away.
And even when he wasn’t training, he’d mess around with you and Taehyun in the palace gardens or village streets as children do. You’d navigate Huening Kai to places he neverknew existed, give him free cookies because your mother didn’t mind it, watch as Taehyun rode his pegasi-filled carriages home because the sun is setting and it’s curfew hours.
Countless of times, on the sidewalks at golden hour, just the two of you in opened space, talking and talking and talking.
Huening Kai crying over tough training days and you taking sharp breaths whenever the boy involuntarily breaks down.
It felt like ages ago since Huening Kai last shed a teardrop.
Huening Kai snaps back to reality.
He isn’t outside, in the village, where the space is open and a buzz.
This… This was different.
The small room provided little to no privacy.
Your hand is on his chest (technically his breastplate that was over his blouse that was directly over his chest but tomato tomahto, it is what it is) pushing forward, wincing at the material once you’ve realized, again, it just won’t fit.
“Kai, you’re so big…”
Huening Kai nearly lost it. “Excuse me?”
“Oh no it’s just… you’ve grown. Like really grown.” You pulled the plating off of Huening Kai like a rabbit playing tug of war with the leafy end of a carrot.
“Is that a bad thing?”
“No, not at all. It’s a good thing, actually, ‘cause like, finally, you’re not so tiny and miniature anymore.” Heaving a sigh, you set the metal plating down, reaching for another much bigger piece.
You chuckled. Internally. Like, a brainfart.
Why on Earth would he think growing up is a bad thing?
For the past six years, Huening Kai was literally a full-sized head shorter than you.
He was and still is very timid, though.
In a kennel of bulldogs, he’s the only chihuahua.
In a sea of stars, he burns the brightest.
Did you not notice? These past few years, did you not see him passing over your shoulder? Did you not catch the arch of his nose sharpening? His broadening shoulders, the muscle he’s gained over the years? Did he get a perm???
“I’m catching onto you and Taehyun, aren’t I?” Huening Kai muttered as you placed yet another breastplate over his chest.
You slouched over, relief flooding you.
It fits perfectly.
A hint of a smile swatches across your cheeks, and perhaps it was an odd, uncommon thing to feel at the age of sixteen, but, nostalgia blooms in your chest and you wonder if Huening Kai feels the same way. “I will actually cry if you outgrow the both of us, but then again, I think you're already doing that.”

I told my mother that I think I have ADHD a year ago. she clearly didn't think so, but booked a doctors appointment for me anyway, but she was clearly only entertaining the idea in a 'sure, the esster bunny is real' kind of way. we went to the doctors, she said 'do these two things and come back in a month'. I did. we didn't go back.
my friend with most of the same symptoms as me went and got a test done, and she was diagnosed with adhd. she said she asked the person who was testing her about me and my symptoms, and they said 'that definitely sounds like ADHD'. adhd and autism run in my family, but my mum doesn't seem to like the idea of me having it so she just dismisses me.
I was trying to explain how hard it is for me to get started on things, and she said 'you just need to figure it out'. no help offered at all. I was trying to explain sensory issues and she said 'it's not that bad, just deal with it'. I was trying to explain lack of emotional regulation (made worse by my period) and she said 'you need to calm down'. i was apologising for forgetting to do the laundry and she said 'you need to be better.' one time I went nonverbal and she was yelling at me to 'just speak, it can't be that damn hard'. my symptoms are always dismissed as 'find a way around it' or 'just do better'.
she just doesn't listen to me whenever I try to tell her something, yet she's always preaching that I can vent to her.
I wanna go back to the doctor but im scared she'll say no. it's just really hard to get shit done with her always breathing down my neck and telling me I need to do better, because I'm doing the very best I can but it's never good enough. I don't know what to do to get through to her
I'm sorry that this is long a turned into a vent... don't feel pressured to answer this
Hi there,
I’m sorry you’re going through something that seems very nerve racking. Have you tried explaining specifically why you can’t start a project and why you forget things.
Here’s an article about trouble getting started with tasks. It’s for adults, but I think it could be applied to teenagers too:
If you’re having trouble with chores, here’s a helpful blog post talk about making routines and checklists for chores:
Hopefully these can help. Thank you for the inbox. I hope you have a wonderful day/night. ♥️

daily notes - dec 21, 2024
One of the drain pipes in the basement developed a leak - very old metal pipe that hadn't been replaced yet. It connects with the laundry and the kitchen sink, so it's not sewage, thankfully. Dad will have to trouble-shoot more, but he's got a temporary set-up, so we can use the sink again.
Earlier in the day, my dad was able to deliver holiday cookies to my library friends. LL-K made me a quilted pillow case, using a variety of green fabrics. The backing is a soft flannel, and even the lining fabric is really cute. It's so pretty, I feel hesitant about using it. (I will get over this eventually.)
Made some progress on the white-yarn pumpkin I'm knitting. I take solace in the fact that it's white; mistakes are easier to ignore when the stuffing is the same color. (Telling myself that it's okay if this one looks worse than my others, because I'm still getting back in the swing of things.) No cables on this one.
I went to dig out a travel pack of q-tips, stashed amid the stuff I bought last summer. Found my NaNaNa Melanie Mod, then tried to dress her. Most things don't fit right. I'll try again another time.
I'm tempted to make another dress from "Sally the Eco Fairy", maybe just as a skirt. I had Oriole in mind (I still haven't photographed her, and I've had her for a few years now, gosh), but the NaNaNa would benefit from something first. I'll dig out my crochet thread for that, if/when I get crazy ambitious.
In this tub of doll clothes that's been in my bedroom, I found a few dolls that I had tried redressing last time. Jude, Sparrow, Ella Enchanted, a 90s Christie and a craft doll from Andrea, and the blue-hair Fashionista that probably doesn't have a name. Other than Ella, I want to redress them again, haha.
When I get around to reorganizing doll clothes, I can def see myself having to spread out everything on the floor. So much of everything needs to be stripped bare, sorted from the ground up. I don't feel too stressed as I think about the task, but it sometimes feels daunting. Maybe cleaning up my bedroom first will help.
It's honestly a can of worms, with how disorganized I can be. I shouldn't have grabbed that doll tonight. On the other hand, it stopped me from wanting to start a new knitting project! Ah yes, a bright side to everything, haha.

23.02.2024
today i had no classes at all so i let myself sleep in without an alarm. i had around 10 hours of sleep and when i got up i felt a lot more well rested than i have in a long time.
i brought my notebook, pens, and ipad to the kitchen and got started with studying immediately after eating breakfast. this was a very smart idea because normally executive dysfunction means i procrastinate for hours between tasks, but today i had all the things i needed to do my work straight away.
i watched and took notes on a lecture that i missed last week, it was about jawless vertebrates (lampreys and hagfish) and it was very interesting. i drew lots of weird little creatures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then i took a break to use the bathroom, pray, and eat lunch. i didn't bother getting changed out of my pyjamas, because i was feeling very sick from The Plague™️, and i wasn't planning on leaving the flat, and i also needed to shower before i could put clean clothes on anyway because i was a Stinky Rat Boy
after that i started working on a coursework project that i should've started months ago but it felt too daunting. it took many hours and i sent a few rants to @etherealspacejelly and @mollusc-consultant but eventually i got it done. there's just one more task i need to do for that project which is a mock interview, i am still putting that off because Autism™️, but the deadline is in just under two weeks so i have time. when i've done that it will hopefully be ready to submit.
i also looked on the university website to find out when all my deadlines are and i put them into my reminders app so i would not forget. this made me feel a lot more organised and on top of things rather than like i was drowning under stress.
then i put away my laundry which had been hanging to dry in my room all week; i didn't realise how much it was stressing me out until it was all put away and i finally had space to move around in my room again. you know what maybe marie kondo is right and an uncluttered home is the most important thing for mental health after all
after prayer time i decided to cook a proper meal for dinner and i called my mother while i did that. she gets worried if i don't talk to her a few times per week. little things did annoy me, like how she said "i always love hearing from my daughter", and when i compared myself to the cat saying i was "so sleepy all the time like meery" (because i keep having to take naps recently) she was like "yes he's a sleepy boy and you're a sleepy girl" :/ but oh well it doesn't matter.
Tumblr media
i ate dinner and i was reading percy jackson when my Cool Gay Flatmate walked into the kitchen. she was wearing a really nice outfit which was similar to the kind of clothes i usually wear, and she's dyed her hair green and cut it shorter, and she has a nose ring and other piercings, basically she's exactly the kind of person i want to be friends with, but i Literally Never See Her because she's always staying at her girlfriend's house or visiting family and stuff. i have such a huge platonic crush on her :')
she noticed i was reading percy jackson and got excited about it and we both nerded out about it for a while, which was super fun !! she likes one of my special interests omg !! but she had to go because she was going to be late for something, which was sad because i really want to spend more time with her !! also i was kinda embarrassed because she always bumps into me when i'm like. in my pyjamas and sick and desperately need a shower. but i want her to see me when i'm wearing my daytime clothes and not Dishevelled™️ so she thinks i am cool aaaaa
then i washed my dishes and went to take a shower but it was hard and i procrastinated a lot. afterwards i felt a lot better though. being greasy and stinky is Not fun
i put on clean pyjamas and went back to the kitchen to eat a snack before bed. i have such a huge appetite recently, i can't stop eating, and it's kind of scary, but i am trying really hard to honour my body's needs. i ended up eating twice as much chocolate as i had intended to eat, but i have to remember that it's okay. i'm finally eating what my body wants after more than ten years of neglecting it and i think that's extremely important.
@parasite-2 sent robin a mathematics challenge and robin asked me to help, so i spent two hours puzzling over it which was So Much Fun. i forgot how much i enjoy doing maths questions. its probably also good for my brain, right ? maybe i should do this more often as self care.
then i finally went to bed, i changed my pillow case because i had just washed my hair and that's the Rules. i was feeling very ill again, i couldn't stop coughing and my back hurt a lot, so it took ages for me to get to sleep. i think i finally fell asleep around 2am.

Disability meets Resilience
Tumblr media
Life has a funny way of throwing unexpected challenges our way, doesn't it? Recently, I've been navigating through a period where my sight has been impacted, reminding me once again of the fragility and resilience of the human experience.
My journey with disability began with a brain injury and a broken hip, both occurring simultaneously. Despite the passage of time, the effects of these accidents still linger. The brain injury has left me with a laundry list of cognitive impairments and severe memory loss, while my broken hip has resulted in significant physical limitations alongside nerve damage throughout my body. Even today, I continue to grapple with the daily challenges imposed by these lingering disabilities.
Recovery from both injuries has been a long and daunting process. Physiotherapy, doctors appointments, assessments, counselling efforts and ongoing cognitive rehabilitation had to become a regular part of my routine as I worked tirelessly to regain function and independence. While I no longer rely on a cane, the lingering effects of the accidents are a constant reminder of the journey I've been on and the challenges I continue to face.
Living with residual disabilities from both accidents has presented ongoing challenges in every aspect of daily life. Simple tasks like remembering appointments, planning, processing information, and managing physical exertion can still be difficult. Despite my best efforts, there are days when the limitations imposed by my disabilities feel overwhelming.
Yet, amidst the challenges, my journey with disability has taught me the power of gratitude. I am grateful for the progress I've made, the support I have received, and the opportunity to share my story with others. Each day is a reminder to focus on the blessings in my life, rather than dwelling on the obstacles.
As I continue on my journey, I face the future with a newfound sense of hope and resilience. Disability has taught me to embrace life's uncertainties with courage and grace, knowing that even in the darkest moments, there is always hope. While my journey may be ongoing, I am grateful for the opportunity to inspire others and advocate for greater understanding and accessibility.
Living with disability has been a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and gratitude. It's taught me to find strength in adversity, celebrate the small victories, and cherish the beauty of life's journey. While the road may be challenging, I wouldn't trade it for anything, for it's led me to discover the true beauty of the human spirit.
In the end, disability isn't just about limitations—it's about the resilience, courage, and gratitude that emerge in the face of adversity.

Good unspecified time of day! I have 5 hours of sleep in me and I feel like bothering some people. Feel free to use this ask as a space to talk about anything on your mind. If an unspecified question is too daunting lemme put some forth!
If you could go back to experience a wonderful time in your life, what would it be?
Would you rather be able to forget a movie to watch over again or a book?
What would you consider is a skill that doesn't get enough hype? (Like doing your own taxes, growing a garden, being knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna)
Brownies from the edge, side, or middle?
Is there anything small (or could be considered small) that you accomplished or had happen recently that just made your day?(folded laundry, made a good drink, took a nap in the sun)
I'm taking the skill question, because it's a RANT.
The ability to make one's own clothing is a skill that is SEVERELY underrated in the modern world. The fast fashion industry controls so much of what's available to us, and has for so long, that we just sort of accept these days that we've got to accept inconvenient, uncomfortable, unsustainable clothing that's going to fall apart in just a few months' time because that's all that's available.
What do you like to wear? Doesn't matter, you only get what's on the market this month. Can't wear certain fabrics? Hope you have buckets of money and a mess of free time to go looking for clothes. Favorite colors? Nope. You're at the mercy of WalMart and Zara. If you're a woman, it's even worse, because gods help you if you want to wear anything that actually lets you go live a life and do stuff. And if you're a dude? Get ready to be bored. It's just variations on the same drab theme from now until the day you die.
As an added bonus, most of what you find in stores is only kinda-sorta designed to fit a certain body type, and if it doesn't fit you perfectly then you're implied to be too [whatever you are] to wear "nice" stuff. This is your fault, don't you know?
If you learn to sew, and it's not nearly as hard as people think, you can make things specific to your clothing needs for cheaper than you would ever be able to buy them. And your clothing will last WAY longer than anything you'll find in a shop. Also, if you want to wear something that just isn't made these days... look, no one's gonna arrest you for wearing a floor-length cloak or a pirate shirt out to the grocery store, okay? Trust me, I know. I wear 18th Century stays and petticoats to work on the regular.

Discover Your Dream Apartment: Browse Rentals Now
Tumblr media
The search for the perfect apartment can feel like a daunting task. But it doesn't have to be! With a little planning and the right resources, you can efficiently navigate the rental market and find a home that truly reflects your lifestyle and preferences.
Define Your Ideal Living Situation:
Before you even start browsing, take some time to envision your ideal living situation.
What's your budget? How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you need? Are you looking for a studio, a one-bedroom, or something larger? What amenities are essential to you? (In-unit laundry, dishwasher, balcony, etc.) What kind of neighborhood are you drawn to? (Quiet residential, bustling city center, suburban with green spaces?) Do you have any pets that need to be accommodated? By answering these questions honestly, you'll create a clearer picture of your ideal apartment and can tailor your search accordingly.
Leverage Online Resources:
The internet is your best friend when it comes to apartment hunting. Utilize online platforms such as:
Specialized Rental Websites: Websites like Apartments.com, Zillow, and Rent.com offer extensive listings, detailed property descriptions, and user reviews. Social Media Groups: Local Facebook groups and online forums can provide valuable insights from current residents and connect you with potential roommates.   Brokerage Websites: If you're working with a real estate agent, explore their website for exclusive listings and personalized assistance.
Refine Your Search:
Use the powerful filtering options available on rental websites to narrow down your search.
Price Range: Set a realistic budget and stick to it. Location: Use map features to pinpoint specific neighborhoods or areas within your preferred distance to work, schools, or other important locations. Amenities: Filter by essential amenities like in-unit laundry, air conditioning, and parking options.   Pet Policies: If you have pets, filter for pet-friendly buildings and inquire about any breed restrictions or pet fees.
Schedule Viewings and Ask Questions:
Once you've shortlisted a few promising apartments, schedule viewings to get a firsthand look.
Pay close attention to the overall condition of the unit. Check for cleanliness, signs of wear and tear, and any potential maintenance issues. Assess noise levels. Check for excessive noise from traffic, neighbors, or nearby businesses. Evaluate natural light. Consider how much sunlight enters the unit throughout the day. Inspect storage space. Check for adequate closet space, pantry space, and other storage options. Don't hesitate to ask questions to the landlord or property manager. Inquire about:
Lease terms and conditions: Understand the lease length, renewal process, and any restrictions on pets or subletting. Utilities: Determine which utilities are included in the rent and what the average monthly costs are for those not included. Building rules and regulations: Inquire about noise restrictions, guest policies, and any other relevant rules. Visit residential rentals
Make an Informed Decision:

Adorable Children's Clothes: Dressing Your Little Ones in Style
Everyday Comfort Meets Style
Children are active, curious, and always on the move, so their clothes need to keep up with their energetic lifestyle. Comfort is key when it comes to everyday wear, but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style. Look for soft, breathable fabrics like cotton or bamboo that are gentle on sensitive skin. Elastic waistbands, adjustable straps, and easy-to-use fastenings make it simple for children to dress themselves, fostering independence while ensuring they stay comfortable throughout the day.
Fun patterns and vibrant colors are a great way to inject personality into your child's wardrobe. Think playful prints featuring animals, dinosaurs, or favorite cartoon characters. Bright colors not only appeal to children but also make it easier to spot them in a crowd, adding a layer of safety to their outfits.
Special Occasions Call for Something Extra
Whether it's a birthday party, holiday celebration, or family gathering, special occasions are the perfect time to dress your child in something a little more formal and extra special. For boys, a classic button-down shirt paired with tailored trousers or a smart vest can create a polished look that's still comfortable enough for play. For girls, dresses adorned with lace, tulle, or sequins add a touch of magic to any event. Look for outfits that strike a balance between elegance and practicality, Adorable children's clothes allowing your child to enjoy the occasion without feeling restricted by their clothing.
Accessories can also elevate an outfit for special occasions. Bow ties, suspenders, and belts can add a dapper touch to a boy's outfit, while headbands, hair clips, and even small handbags can complete a girl's ensemble. Just remember to choose accessories that are comfortable and appropriate for your child's age.
Tumblr media
Seasonal Must-Haves for All-Year Comfort
As the seasons change, so should your child's wardrobe. In the colder months, layering is key. Start with a soft base layer, like a long-sleeved onesie or thermal top, then add cozy sweaters, jackets, and pants. Opt for materials like wool or fleece that provide warmth without being too bulky. Don't forget about outerwear— a good quality coat, hat, gloves, Quality children's clothing and boots are essential for keeping your child warm during winter adventures.
For warmer weather, breathable fabrics and lightweight clothing are a must. Shorts, dresses, and t-shirts in light colors help keep your child cool and comfortable. Sun protection is also important, so look for clothing with UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) ratings and don't forget a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses.
Dressing for Durability
Children are notorious for being hard on their clothes, so durability is an important factor to consider. Look for reinforced stitching, sturdy zippers, and high-quality fabrics that can withstand the wear and tear of daily life. Many brands offer clothing with stain-resistant or easy-to-clean finishes, making laundry day a little less daunting.
It's also worth investing in clothes that can grow with your child. Adjustable waistbands, roll-up sleeves, and extendable hems allow for longer wear, giving you more value for your money.

How to Wash Your Shoes: A Step-by-Step Guide
Dirty shoes definitely need a wash, but the process can be messy, especially if they are covered in mud or grease. Washing your shoes in a washing machine can be an effective solution. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to do it right.
Preparing Your Shoes for Washing
Checking Wash Care Instructions
Before washing shoe washer near me, check the wash care label. Shoes made of cotton, polyester, or nylon are generally safe for the washing machine, while leather, vinyl, or suede shoes require hand washing. Also, shoes with decorations or sequins should be handled with care.
Tumblr media
Gathering Supplies
You'll need:
Mesh bags
Liquid laundry detergent
Old toothbrush
Dishwashing liquid
Baking soda
Old towel
Toothpick
Step-by-Step Washing Process
Step 1: Remove and Clean the Laces
Take off the shoe laces and wash them separately. Soak them in a solution of 1 tablespoon liquid laundry detergent and 1 cup of warm water for about an hour, then hand wash them. This helps to remove dirt that may not come off if washed with the shoes.
Step 2: Brush Off Loose Dirt
Use an old toothbrush to scrub away loose dirt from the shoe surface. For dirt stuck in lace holes, use a toothpick.
Step 3: Pre-Treat Stains
Treat stains as soon as possible to prevent them from becoming permanent. Use lemon juice or white vinegar on a cotton swab to wipe the stained areas. For white sneakers, a mixture of baking soda, liquid laundry detergent, and water works wonders. Apply the mixture to the stain, let it sit for a few hours, then scrub with a nylon brush.
Step 4: Remove and Clean Insoles
Take out the insoles and wipe them with a damp sponge. If they're dirty, clean them with a solution of water and dishwashing liquid. Sprinkle baking soda on them and let sit overnight to absorb moisture before placing them back in the shoes.
Step 5: Place Shoes in a Mesh Bag
Put the shoes (without laces) in a mesh bag to prevent them from hitting the washing machine drum. Add some old towels or clothes to balance the load.
Step 6: Set the Wash Cycle
Select the 'gentle' wash cycle with cold water and no spin or slow spin setting. Use liquid laundry detergent to avoid powder residue.
After Washing
Step 7: Air Dry the Shoes
Remove the shoes from the washing machine and the mesh bag. Place them on old newspapers and stuff them with paper balls to absorb excess moisture and help retain shape. Dry them in bright sunlight if possible. Avoid using a dryer as the heat can damage the shoes.
Bonus Tips
Retaining Shoe Shape
To maintain the shape of your shoes while washing, place crumpled paper balls inside them. This also helps with moisture absorption and faster drying.
Professional Care for Luxury Shoes
For high-end shoes, consider professional cleaning and restoration services like DhobiLite. They offer specialized care for various materials, ensuring your shoes look and feel new.
Conclusion
Washing shoes doesn't have to be a daunting task. By following these steps and using the right products, you can keep your shoes clean, fresh, and in good condition. Regular cleaning not only removes dirt and stains but also extends the life of your shoes.

I've got a routine that always works for me that I think is vague enough for you to be able to personalize to suit your life. I apologize in advance because I'm certain this is going to be a long one. I promise worth the read though.
It always starts with speaking kindly to yourself. You're getting out of a depressive episode, and being negative about that isn't going to help. So acknowledge that yes you didn't get what you wanted done, maybe you laid around like a lump, slept more/less than you should have, and generally indulged in habits that might not be the healthiest for you, BUT what matters now is your decision to change that. Depression is a life long condition, you just have to learn to work with and around it. It's okay that you slumped, you're just getting it out of your system.
Sit down and make a physical to do list of everything that needs doing no matter how little it can be digital I just mean don't keep that list in your head, you need to be able to look at it. I've put things on my list as miniscule as refilling the soap dispenser in my bathroom. Try to break your tasks down in as many steps as possible. A long to do list might seem intimidating, but making them into many little tasks to complete a) gives you a better sense of accomplishment when seeing how many you cross off and b) helps you complete larger tasks without them feeling daunting. For example: I let my clothes pile up all over the place, on the floor, on my bed, on chairs. I have a hamper, but during depressive episodes even that can be too much. Putting do the laundry on your to do list might make it seem like a monumental task. But if you break it down into a) collect dirty clothes in hamper b) take hamper to laundry room c) sort laundry d) put on one load then it becomes smaller more reasonably manageable things to do and you don't have to do them all at once. If once you start doing one task you feel up to completing a connecting task then great! go ahead and do it. If not then you move onto something else, something your mind considers easier.
Once you have your list pick one thing. Read through it and decide what one task is so simple you could get up and do it right then. No really. Go do that one thing. The amount of satisfaction I get from doing something like collecting all the empty bottles I've left in my room and putting them into a bag for recycling is fucking wild. It makes an immediate difference to your physical space and gets your body moving. The goal is to build up to doing the things that are inescapably larger/need more effort. Go at your own pace and listen when your body tells you that you need a break. It doesn't matter if you do just one thing or you manage to do 5 things on your list before your energy/enthusiasm starts to wane, you need to listen because if you don't you'll be burned out and back to square one faster than you realize. I find that I can go much longer if I'm blasting the cheesiest mood boosting music I can think of. It feels less like doing chores if I'm doing it while dancing like a lunatic!
Self-care. This whole exercise is self-care, but when I say self-care in this case I mean choosing to do something that makes you feel physically better. Hygiene tends to take a back seat when depressed as I'm sure we're all aware of. Brush your teeth, floss, take a shower or bath, shave your legs if you're a leg shaver (soft legs always brings me an unbridled amount of joy lol), wash your face more than just splashing water on it. The physical act of caring for yourself helps an insane amount. Once you've done the basics that you've been neglecting then do a bit of pampering. What's something you do for yourself that you normally like to do that during your depressive episode you didn't feel like doing? Skin-care routine? Taking a walk for fresh air? paint your nails? Start incorporating those in between tackling your to do list.
Go and see friends/family. Its easy to isolate yourself, to disappear essentially and well humans, we're social creatures. You may feel tired at the end of visiting with them, but it really helps knowing that you're not alone. Don't force yourself to make the visits long if that's something that might make you hesitate. Just a quick lunch date or even a coffee date is enough to start.
This final one is easier said than done, but you have to start somewhere and that is don't get caught up in comparing your progress to others. It took me years to figure out and I still catch myself doing it sometimes. No one ever had a concrete answer for how not to and it was frustrating. The truth is there's no easy way to do it. It takes time. I learned by repeatedly reminding myself that I am not other people. I don't work the same way they do and so even though we're the same age or from the same background etc etc I'm never going to be that person and so I can't be expected to go at the same pace as them. I taught myself to pause when those negative thoughts start running through my head and out loud remind myself I am not them. They are not me. I go at my own pace and that's okay. I forced myself to say those things out loud and in my head until it started to become a habit. I combat negative thoughts by speaking positively out loud and in my head until its second nature for me to correct those negative thoughts without even thinking about it. It might feel silly and embarrassing at first, especially to speak the words out loud, but it has changed the way that I view myself and how I treat myself for the better.
Whoo sorry that got quite wordy. I hope that this helped even a little bit! As long as you don't give up you're going to be okay. Rooting for you!
Tumblr media
do y’all have any tips on getting back to productivity and self care after a slump? i’m slowly getting out of a depressive episode and i haven’t done anything i’ve wanted to do. i’m trying not to be hard on myself but i want to get back into it!

Where you’re gonna kick ass in 2022
Piles are 1-3, left to right. The photos are not mine, I found them on Pinterest and this reading is for entertainment only.
The Wheel of Fortune r, Temperance, Five of wands
Y'all are kicking ass by breaking old shitty habits and cycles. Major out with old in with the new vibes. It feels like these are changes you've been wanting to make but you've been holding yourself back because of self-doubt or because people might think it's weird. For some of you, the changes you're wanting to make aren't actually that odd or out of the ordinary. They are just different for you and you think that people will judge you even if the changes are good ones. The people you're around could have this mentality where trying to be better implies weakness. I'm hearing the words 'poser' and 'sell out'. I've known people like that and trust me, anyone who looks down on you for trying to be a better version of yourself is not a person you wanna be around very much. Not to be a dick but in my experience, they always end up deadbeats and try and keep everyone down on their level so they don't have to be better themselves. For a lot of y'all, 2022 is about getting your shit together and this will vary from person to person. Could be just eating and drinking better, a better routine, or a full glow-up, I don't know. Whatever the changes you're making it feels looks like they are better for you but there is some conflict surrounding them. The changes you're making could have to do with a lifestyle that your family/community doesn't agree with if that's you, STAY SAFE above all else. Do what you can but don't risk your safety. The conflict could also be just you second-guessing yourself and doubting. Y'all are wondering if you can even do it. So, why not start small? Looking at a change all at once can be daunting. If you're wanting to drink a liter of water a day, start with just a glass. You got this babe!

Pile 2
Eight of Swords, Six of Pentacles, Seven of Wands r.
Ok, I'm really proud of y'all, Pile 2. Y'all are kicking ass by not kicking ass. Y'all are letting your guard down in 2022, at least a lil bit. This year is about stopping being so goddamn defensive. There are no cups in this reading so I think it's less about emotions (HA I just heard 'thank god') and more about philanthropy and just being honest about yourself. Sometimes we can hide parts of ourselves for no real reason without even really realizing it. Like, maybe you like to read a lot and you're not embarrassed by it and you know no one's gonna judge you for it but you keep it a secret anyway. Dumb example but you get the idea. It feels less like others will judge you for it and more like you're judging yourself for it. Y'all are letting yourself be known in 2022. That may be posting more genuine photos on Instagram instead of posting ones like everyone else, or chopping your hair off, or not hiding the fact that you're really into Taylor Swift, or could be you're a writer and you share it with people or a singer, maybe you secretly love red lipstick, (side note: if you're in a situation where being yourself is unsafe, please be careful and don't take this reading as pushing you to do something you're not comfortable with) I think you're learning to trust yourself this upcoming year and learning to express yourself in a more healthy, genuine way. That's fuckin awesome. There's also a bit here about learning to trust yourself specifically with money and being generous to yourself if that resonates. In all this year is about not feeling like you have to guard your interests or defend your choices. I just heard someone yelling "BE a basic bitch!" all happy and supportive. So, yeah, if ya wanna be basic be basic. I think y'all are accepting yourself more and giving the finger to everything else this year.
random ass vibes: getting a pet bird? horror movies, loud laughter, hiking, fruity cocktails, science, 222, pink, spring, 66, tattoos, natural hair, sleep,
Pile 3
Ace of Swords, King of Swords r, Temperance.
Y'all are kicking ass by setting some boundaries with people. Hell yeah! Let's fucking GO Pile 3! It feels like y'all just get hit with this epiphany that you deserve better and then it's like you're unfuckinstopable! I'm so pumped right now. Like y'all may be literally kicking ass in 2022. (I'm kidding, don't hurt anyone (unless they deserve it, in which case go ahead I'm not responsible for your actions)) Anyway, you may be cutting some people out of your life entirely or just saying no more often. I'm proud of you, babe. Setting boundaries is hard. Y'all are protecting your peace and while it'll be hard, it looks like it will lead to more peace. If this king of swords represents a person, they will be cold, distant, and controlling. Maybe a boss or professor. You may have tried to set boundaries in the past, only to have it end in an argument and you gave up. You're not giving up this time though. This time you're simply not dealing with anyone who treats you like shit. Hell yeah! God, I love this energy. Just heard 'punch a n*zi'. OH, I think for some of y'all there's a person you put up with a lot of shit from, maybe a friend, or a SO, or a family member whatever but you find out their political views, and you are DONE with them. Like DONE. I don't blame ya, babe. Fuck n*zis. Some of you are simply setting boundaries with your time and energy. No matter how big or small the boundary, this pile is not putting up with being treated like shit in 2022. You fuckin rule Pile 3.
random ass vibes: 444, MCR, a country/city/state or street that starts with V, dolphins, Capricorn, peach, old fandom tumblr? pop music, sushi, crop tops, foxes, phone ringing, exhilarating anger.

I'll even add some of my favorite ways to provide help to yourself and your system, from a caretaker who loves to clean:
1. That bottle/wrapper that another headmate swore they'd throw away and didn't? Get that for them, especially if they're prone to feeling shame over forgetting. Let them forget that they ever forgot.
2. Make a to-do list with add many or as few tasks as you need to. Too many small tasks making it hard to start? Use fewer. Big tasks feeling too daunting? Make a bunch of mini tasks to keep motivated. I personally like the mini tasks because it feels like you're getting through it faster and overcoming the block way more easily.
3. Start a clothes pile when you see something out of place. Literally just... that sock? Put it on top of the shirt that's next to the door. When you pass by the beanie that needs washing, add that. You don't need to take it all as soon as you see it; just keep it in one place so laundry isn't such a daunting task.
4. Going off of the above, remove an entire step in the process, if you can and if it'll help. Gathering up dishes/laundry so whoever does those can grab them in one go (or even taking them yourself to remove two steps!), putting dirty dishes directly into the dishwasher instead of the sink, hanging all of the hangers in your closet so all someone has to do is bring the basket in and grab one- you get the point.
5. For more intense cleaning, I do the box method. You take a box, and you choose a starting point. Whatever you put in the box doesn't need to be put away immediately; but once the box is full, you need to start putting things back. Say you put everything from the top of your desk and its drawers into the box, and you go to do the bedside table when you notice the box is full; now you have two choices: start putting things away, or remove something from the box. Maybe you see you have a big item in there that goes in the living room, something that'll give you way more space to put the beside items in the box. You don't even need to finish the box. Everything will be out of the way, and you know where to look when you need something from it; when you're done with whatever you got from the box, immediately put it where it belongs. My ADHD brain really likes this one because it allows me to have my organized yet disorganized piles while also allowing the environment to be visually clean.
Sometimes it feels like there's nothing better than being a caretaker alter. Like... do I want to do this thing? No, not particularly.
But, I know we'll wake up tomorrow and be happy that someone finally made the bed, and we're finally going to bed warm. I know that there'll be a little less anxiety going into the laundry room. We'll feel so relieved because someone remembered to put our pills in a spot where we can see them. I think of our younger alters being able to find their comfort items with ease, our frequent fronters being less overwhelmed... and it makes me happy that I can be the reason.
Will they thank me? No. Will they think about me when they open the drawer and notice it's all neat and they can finally wash their face and feel clean? Probably. It's fine even if they don't.
And I feel the same way about those outside of the system, too! I want everyone to feel like they have someone to go to, not just our closest bonds. Heck, I want to make people who will only ever talk to me once come out of that interaction with something meaningful; I want to give them something that'll improve their life far after they've forgotten about me as a person.
