Thinking about how the Convocation lowkey forced people to sacrifice themselves to Zodiark by piggybacking on people's obedience and focus on death being honorable, and that being a huge reason as to why Arkhos was so happy during the Final Days because he didn't have to hold back anymore. He basically explodes with the weight of the harsh truths he carried on his shoulders and snaps during the Final Days.
He's not the usual Azem, he was in Hermes' spot from the start and was seen as a lowkey weird outcast of sorts because of his mental illnesses and thoughts on the world, even if he was brought into the fold and highly admired for his skills. He had severe depression too, and difficulty forming any attachments just like Arkhe does, and the attachments he COULD form were a new level of fiery passion, protectiveness, and love. It's why he still lived with his mom all his life after his dad died when he was a child, before he became Azem and started to really travel around.
#endwalker spoilers#Arkhos' anger at both sides is what bled over to Arkhe the most#he's pretty much a copy-paste of Arkhos but the one thing is that passion clashing with his disconnect with life and HATRED of Hydaelyn#and looking down on Emet's cause as emotionally frail and clinging to what's been lost because of sloth and ignorance of reality#the last time Emet saw Arkhos was during the Final Days and it was Arkhos talking him down super brutally and turning him away#it's why Emet's so haunted seeing Arkhe and seeing that exact contempt in those eyes and hearing word-for-word demeaning#Arkhos left a legacy of people desperately clinging for his company and him spitting on that dependence on him#and Arkhe is repeating the cycle with people like Thancred and Aymeric and G'raha
