okok last one (for now) because I'm still mad they never released a special of the turtles and that Hip Hop Christmas Album... which songs are they lining up to cover (doesn't have to be Christmas related)

Ooooooo this is fun. How many songs are on an album? Back in the day? Like an actual cd….. twelve was pushing it, right? Hold on my dad has some cds still let me go check~

Ok. So I was close. The longest was sixteen, usually thirteen to fourteen though I found one with close to twenty! Dang! Also, I found my old evanescence cd my dad stole it (I let him keep it)

EDIT: Hey, I just wanna come back and say that if you go looking up these Groups of music, be aware they are NSFW and feature a lot of words/actions that I do not agree with. These artists were working out their frustrations with the world around them in the rawest sense, and their music is a reflection of that. Expect lots of cussing, talk of murder, degrading towards women, etc.

and as far as just hip pop music I could see them all singing because they are dorks, I know they were watching MTV because at the first of the 2014 movie they had them watching a video that looks JUST like MTV like it walloped me upside the head. Now, there's a lot of hip hop that comes to my mind, but i think they'd gravitate towards the old school hip hop, and unfortunately that's just a little bit before my time, and I wasn't allowed to listen to that music growing up- i knew of Wu Tang Club or NWA but hip pop didn't really bust out of the east coast/west coast of america until they were able to play the songs on the radio- and there was no way they could play those groups on the radio. Now, once hip pop started becoming club music though, that's when I started hearing it. People like 50 cent (in the club) or J-Kwon (tipsy) suddenly became easier to hear because it wasn't just on a 'parental advisory' album that you couldn't buy with out an id. It boggles my mind that Snoop Dogg is like, a household name now like wtf. I didn't even know about Tupac until he died. So...um..... i rambled. sorry. but yeah that 50 cent song or J-Kwon are very popular, could see them singing that (Raph and Mikey would probably be singing the last one solo, can't see Leo liking that one lol) but maybe also Wu Tang songs I just *shrug* don't know a lot of them.

I would like to start introducing myself. I am N.V.B., I was born in Colombia, South America, I´m 16 years old and I have been living in Spain since 2008. Now I want to tell my own experience like a Latina living out of their country.

First of all, I think that it´s disrespectful calling us Hispanics. We WERE a Spanish colony, now we are part of the continent called America, so we are Americans (I know that only people from USA are calling Americans,but that is another disrespectful thing for us) or also you can call us in the Spanish way (Latinos), so from now on I´ll say Latinos.

When I arrived in Spain 10 years ago the main problem was the language. Yes, we speak the same language but we don´t speak the same dialect, that means that some words are different so there were some misunderstandings at the beginnig. Another problem was that everyone thought I was from the east of Europe, the only reason why they thought that was because I´m pale and I was blonde ( I was blonde when I came to Spain, now my hair is dark brown).

Then, I started to know Spanish people. When I told them that I was Latina, they started speaking like Mexicans. At the beginning, I didn´t understant why they were speaking like that, ¨ I´m from Colombia , I have just told them...Why are they speaking like Mexicans?¨ I thought.

Well, I know that some people don´t know that in America we have a lot of differente cultures and dialects, some of them just now about Mexico and others just know about bad things about my country (like drugs or Pablo Escobar or the poor part of my country). I have been studying for 11 years and this was the first year that I see something about Latino America in History.

Since I arrived in Spain I have study in the same school, this is my first year in another school. In my old school there were a lot of different nationalities, but know I think that less than a 10% of the school is outlander, so most of the school don´t know about the different cultures and they have some prejudices about Latinos (both teachers and students). In my school teachers have a picture of all of the students to know who is everyone. In my class we are 3 Latinas, they have a darker skin than me. One day, one of the teachers was traying to know who was who without the pictures, he could guess who were the another 2 Latinas, but when he read my name he  couldn´t guess who was me bacause “I dont´t look like a Latina”.  I have just told my story, now I wanna tell what´s wrong in the minds of most of the people (referred to this theme).

Most of the people who aren´t from Latino America think that there we are all the same, and that´s totally wrong. In latino America we have a lot of different cultures and dialects (there´s no just Mexicans, as Hollywood shows us)

These are some videos that talk about the differences between the countries in Latino América, but I´m going to tell some more.

Language:

“Toche” means a different things depending the region of the Colombia where you are. For example, in Bogotá it´s a way of called someone, in Pereira it´s someone who is  gruff.

“Cuca” in some parts of Latino América is an abbreviation of “cucaracha” (cockroach), in Colombia “cuca” can mean nice or vagina (in the street dialect)

“Pana” is a kind of cloth, but is also a way of call people in Venezuela

“Porro” in Colombia is a kind of music, in another countries of Latino América is weed.

“Chucha” is an expression in Ecuador (like say hell or fuck), is also an animal, in chile if you say “está en la chucha” means that it´s so far and in Colombia “chucha” is the bad smell in the armpits.

“Chucho” is a dog in Salvador and Guatemala, in Colombia is Jesus Crhist and in Honduras is someone mean or stingy,

“Perro” is a dog, but in Colombia somene “perro” is someone skillful.

Also one word in English can be a lot of words in Spanish (depending on where you are).

Bean: “Frijol”, “poroto”, “habichuela”...

Popcorns: “Palomitas”, “crispetas”, “pochoclas”…

Sweater: “Buzo”, “chaqueta”, “saco”…

Strawberry: “fresa”, “fresilla”, “frutilla”  (“Fresa” is also someone preppy)

Cake: “Pastel”, “ponqué”, “torta”….

Juice: “Jugo”, “zumo”…

Traditions:

In Colombia in the new year we make a dummy that we call “año viejo” and the dummy represents for us the last year, then we burn the dummy. We also use fireworks and we keep some money and beans in our pockets in order to have money and food in the next year.

In Chile, in the new year, they just have they dinner and use fireworks.

In Colombia we celebrate Valentines Day in September, in the rest of the continent they celebrate Valentines Day in February.

In Colombia a week before Christmas we do something called “novenas”, there we pray for the coming of Jesus.

Depending of the country on Latino América where you are, you will receive your gifts in Christmas by a different person, for example, In Colombia “el niño Jesús” is the one who gives the gifts, but in places like Argentina or Chile is “Papa Noel” or “Santa Claus”

Last but not less I want to talk about what Hollywood shows about Latino America. These is a theme that makes me feel angry. It´s so disrespectful that they normally show only Mexico or Mexican people, It´s also disrespectful that they only show the bad part of Latino América or that the people that they show are the typical Latinos (dark skin, hair and eyes) . But for me the worst thing is that even when they show someone that is not from Mexico in the dubbing the voice is from someone from Mexico.
