Saw your tags on that 'cats surrounding woman' meme and how you learned that they are protecting her, can you elaborate on that? Is there a link or a video that explains it? I love that meme tho!
Oh sure! I reverse-searched the image and found it being sold on cigarette cases. The case had a clearer version, and reverse-searching that led me to this Reddit post discussing the book it's from. It's The Lances of Lynwood, written in 1855 by Charlotte Mary Yonge. The witch in the middle is being guarded by the black cats, as part of a dream a character is having.
The illustrator Jane Blackburn also illustrated another 1855 book by Yonge, The History of Sir Thomas Thumb.

Me right now curled up in bed not feeling well and surrounded by cats... Thus I'm taking the day off. Readings will resume next week. Apologies! 1 through 7 April 2019
This week was all about mulching. We finished the dicotyledon order beds and the vegetable vitamin beds. Next week we will mulch the medicinal beds.
Wednesday, we invited Marcelo from Kew to give us a lesson in bromeliads and to show us the best way to mount them on bark. Everyone learned a lot and enjoyed the afternoon. Now we have a lot of work to do and the tropical corridor will look much better when it is done.
The weather turned cold this week and it even hailed one afternoon. I prefer working in snow or hail rather than rain.
I also received several compliments on my sewing of the netting, which was very nice to hear.
This week’s plant ident is about spring interest:
Boraginaceae Lithodora zahnii
Leguminaceae Cercis siliquastrum
Leguminaceae Sophora microphylla
Magnoliaceae Magnolia doltsopa
Oleaceae Forsythia x intermedia ‘Lynwood Variety’
Oleaceae Osmanthus decorus
Phytolaceae Ercilla volubilis
Rubiaceae Coprosma robusta
Ulmaceae Zelkova serrata
Winteraceae Drimys winteri
I’m in Paris this weekend visiting Lucien and seeing his newly refurbished flat.

The Lances of Lynwood brings to life the high days of knighthood and chivalry in the 14th century during the Hundred Years War, in which the English House of Plantagenet contended with the French House of Valois. The courage and loyalty of a young Englishman, Eustace Lynwood, are tested when he joins the army of the Black Prince during sojourns in France and Spain. This book stirs the imagination, with its knights in shining armor, and exemplars of both faithful love and base treachery, as it portrays the glory of medieval warfare, but also the sufferings of sickness, wounds, and death. Many historical figures are presented, mainly drawn from Jean Froissart's Chronicles, and listeners may be led to delve deeper into the events of that interesting era. ( Carol Pelster) via Libricox

More about ENCOMPASS: Inclusive Architecture:
In early 2017, AIA National's Equity in Architecture Commission released “The Equity in Architecture Commission Report" which details eleven proactive steps to strengthen AIA’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Shortly thereafter, AIA Los Angeles organized ENCOMPASS to serve an a forum to engage in an open dialogue that will set the parameters for how we adhere to this call to action. What is the best framework to implement these recommendations? What metrics of success do we want to establish? We are committed to leading the way forward and we need your participation to make this happen.
AIA|LA is fortunate to be the local chapter of one of the world’s most diverse regions in the world. Los Angels is famous for its wealth of human resources and we are proud to be at the leading edge of diversity. It is that diversity that gives us our leading edge on creative innovations in design. However, we still have a long way to go to ensure greater equity, diversity, and inclusion especially when you consider the profession's urgent need to attract emerging talent and ensure younger generations seek careers in the A/E/C profession.
In a quickly evolving and thriving Los Angeles, diversity increases the promise of our design practice to deliver solutions. Diversity adds value and benefits to our ability to deliver smart solutions to clients. Diversity, in fact, provides the capacity to better support our own region with the improvements to ensure health and prosperity for all.
ENCOMPASS: Inclusive Architecture serves as a forum to highlight best-practices, examine case-studies of inclusive design procedures and curate a series of genuine dialogues that underscore solutions to counter the prevalence of the inherent biases that too often continues to divide A/E/C professionals. This conference allows us to candidly dissect the reality of the situation. ENCOMPASS will also highlight the value-add that inclusive architecture brings to society and how we all gain from a multifaceted profession.
