#2706 - Naultinus sp. - New Zealand Green Gecko
One of nine species found in Aotearoa, and formerly widespread. Unfortunately, wild populations are crashing catastrophically, and in some areas have been wiped out entirely, by habitat loss, poaching for the pet trade, and introduced mammalian predators. Introduced wasps may also be preying on the lizards.
The lizards are active during the day, give live birth, live for up to 30 years or more, and some live in areas with regular snowfall. All NZ geckoes supplement their insect diet with fruit, often that of Māhoe (Melicytus sp.).
Kiwi Park, Queenstown, Aotearoa New Zealand.

Some other cool things that could make New Horizons different than the other games are these:
(Non Villager NPCs)
•A fruit bat that comes around at night, and sells rare fruit, such as lemons, bananas, Kiwis, lychees, and mangoes, as well as even rarer fruits like raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries.
•A llama that sells spices, like garlic, cinnamon, chili, pepper, salt, and curry powder, as well as rare crops like corn, rice, and beans.
•A yak that sells oat, almond, and soy milk, as well as cheese.
(Food)
•Mango smoothies, and other fruit smoothies like I mentioned above
•Three kinds of peppers, with
•Being able to make Gumbo with the seafood you catch(scallops, crabs, lobsters, shrimp) and vegetables(corn, carrots, potatoes,)as well as peppers for spice
•The red peppers making your face turn red and sweaty until you drink a beverage like a smoothie or milk
These are such cute ideas! I especially love the fruit bat character🥲 i need them in my life! I also like the idea of a pepper making your face go red until you have a drink, kind of like when you get stung by wasps. Here’s the thing tho: I think if we got corn or rice as crops it would all be over. like… society would peak, and what then?
Can you IMAGINE what the japanese rural town rice paddy girlies and the stars hollow fall festival corn maze girlies would do???
I can, and it’s beautiful.

You condemn transphobia when it involves Vivziepop but you use sites like 4chan and Kiwi Farms. Two sites that want nothing more then to see trans people "un-alive" themselves. I get that they archive things but as long as they shit on Vivzie what they say is fine?
You can say kill. It's not TikTok.
And no, Kiwi Farms does not want to see trans people kill themselves specifically because they're trans. 4chan probably does, but part of the reason Kiwi Farms keeps being deplatformed is because they tore into the person who was trying to get Chris-chan to kill themselves, and said person's dad is a fed. You can't make this stuff up.
(Clarification: Kiwi Farms very frequently wishes unpleasant shit on specific people, some trans and some not, but no more than anyplace else. If you get caught harassing someone directly, you'll be laughed at or banned.)
I'm fascinated by surviving pockets of old internet like Something Awful and 4chan and Kiwi Farms. I'm fascinated by them the way you might be fascinated by abandoned buildings, or a species of parasitic wasp or itchy plant.
