“You’re fucking kidding me.” You stare at your phone screen.

“Y/N?” Steve chuckles softly behind you. Turning to face him he reads the expression on your face. “What? You have that same look on your face you did when you realized I was your boss after our one night stand. And when you found out I was still married.” Steve steps towards you.

“Steve.” You croak.

“Yes?” He chuckles brushing the back his knuckles over your cheek.

“I’m pregnant.” You hold up your phone for him to see.

“What?” His brow connects as he reads the email, you were holding your breathe.

 “You’re kidding me.” Steve lights up.

“Well no.” You mumble confused.

“This is great news!” Steve suddenly lifts you up, his arms under your butt holding you to him, as he turns.

“Oh so you’re excited.” You laugh, nerves melting from your body.

“Are you not?” Steve stops suddenly, setting you down.

“No. I am. I was thinking you might not be. With everything going on.” You shrug.

“This makes everything going on obsolete Y/N. This is the best thing to happen to me, since you started working in the firm.” His hands in your hair as he crashes his lips to yours.

“This doesn’t mean I want to get married.” You pull back looking up at Steve.

“Well I’m still married, so that works for me.” Steve laughs. “Oh, dinner is ready.” Steve grabs your hand, the two of you walking down the hall. “Do you want to tell everyone?” He grins down at you.

“The look on your face says you’re going to combust if I say no.” He laughs.

“Please. Just those here.” He was like a small child with candy.

“You know two of them hate me.” You laugh.

“Tough shit.” Steve grins as the two of you stop outside the dining room, he leans down kissing you again. He squeezes your hands as he pushes open the door the two of you walking, everyone looks up.

“Darling we’re about to start.” Sarah smiles sweetly at him. Steve stands next to you grinning like a goofy, over joyed child, you struggle to not laugh, pressing your lips together. “What is going on with you Steven?” Sarah eyes him intently.

“We have news.” Steve was practically bouncing on his toes.

“What is it sweet boy? You look like you’re going to burst.” Sarah laughs.

“You’re going to be a grandma by next fall.” Steve grins proudly. Sarah pauses, repeating the words to herself, her eyes wide as it sinks in.

“Steven are you serious?” She stares at him.

“She got the confirmation email.” Steve nods.

“What?” Nat jumps up, Buck, Sam and Wanda following. You hand Nat your phone, the others crowding around it. Sarah is out of her seat and throwing herself into Steve’s arms she’s clearly excited by the little dance she is doing on her toes.

“Holy shit!” Buck cheers, grinning.

“James!” His mouth swats him as she hugs Steve.

“Like I said gorgeous children.” She winks at him. “And you.” She turns hugging you.

“Congrats man!” Buck and Steve hug tightly. Nat is the next one to hug you, a massive grin on her lips, Wanda jumps in the hug with you, making you laugh.

“Wait you lied?!” Rose sneers from her place at the table. You and Steve pause, looking at each other for a moment.

“Aren’t you engaged?” You roll your eyes.

“Momma Rogers, they said she was knocked up weeks ago.” Rose tattles. Sarah looks from Steve to you, you press your lips together.

“Is that so?” She lifts one eyebrow at you.

“Well, only to force her to sign the divorce papers.” You shrug, looking slightly abashed.

“My, my.” Sarah grins at you, coming over she hugs you tightly. “You’re going to be one great lawyer.” She pulls away, looking around. “A toast!!” She cheers.

“None for you.” She points at you.

“To the soon to be parents of my niece or nephew!” Buck cheers loudly as everyone lifts their glass, making you laugh. Steve takes a drink, pulling you towards him. He kisses the top of you head, before pulling out your chair for you.

After dinner Sarah was already head over heels in deep, talking baby ideas. Laughing you look around for your clutch, you must have left it in the dining room, excusing yourself you wander back to look for it. Outside the dining room you stop, hushed voices come from inside.

“That bitch is getting my happily ever after Rose!” It was Becca’s voice. You move closer to the cracked door, trying to hear better. “You better get ready to say goodbye to your own with that street urticant.” She threatens Rose. Your eyebrows snap up as your head tilts, closer to the door.

“I still have a chance, even without you Becca.” Rose snaps back. “I won’t sign those papers. Not till those numbers jump. Steve’s going to want to marry that twit, he’ll do anything to make me sign the papers.” It was suddenly making a lot more sense to you, the way Rose came back, the plead to work their marriage out when she knew he didn’t want to be with her, and the engagement she hide. “You might want to think about what our little deal means to you and staying a secret. How would your mother or heaven forbid Bucky feel about what you asked me to do?” Rose reminds and threatens Becca in one breath.

You hated to admit it, but she was good at manipulating people into getting her way. You pull open the door, not bothering to pretend like you had no idea they were in the dining room. You stroll across the dining room to the chair you occupied during dinner, picking up your clutch. Both woman are staring at you, looking slightly nervous, you grin at the both of them, smug as can be.

“Ladies.” You turn walking back out.

“Darling where did you run off too?” Sarah grins up at you as you enter the sitting room again.

“Sorry left my bag.” You hold up your clutch. “But I didn’t want to interrupt the black mailing and secrets being exposed in the dining room.” You smile, sitting down next to Steve. Everyone is staring at you, you smile at them. “What?” You laugh.

“Black mailing and Secrets being exposed?” Steve looks down at you, eyebrows lifted.

“Oh. Becca threatening Rose, apparently, she was paying Rose to do something. By the comment she made, ‘That bitch is getting my happily ever after’ was probably to run me off.” You wink at Sarah, who slowly breaks into a smile as she leans back in her seat. “But then Rose started blackmailing Becca into keep that little deal or she’d tell Buck that secret.” You look at Buck, his face sour. “But then Rose made the comment about signing the divorce papers and well you know me, I can never just walk away without knowing it all.” You look at Nat who smiles, shaking her head.

“What about the divorce papers?” Steve looks at you.

“She won’t sign till you pay her more. Said she knows you’ll want to marry me now with me being knocked up, and you’ll give her anything she wants.” You shrug, Steve grins at you, wrapping his arm around you he pulls you in kissing the top of your head. Becca and Rose come back into the sitting room together, everyone looking at them.

“What?” Becca laughs.
