I can't stop thinking about Dain Bornhald, they actually made him semi-likeable in the show whereas in the books he has such a hate-boner for Perrin it's ridiculous. Interested to see how this goes in the show.

Cliché but demon lord 🐉 and goddess 🌸♀️ who constantly fight for centuries because their kind wants to see the other extinct. No one ever wins though because they're equal in terms of power.
That is false. He is stronger. They just keep up this stupid charade because they're secretly married and meet up every night. They also make love everywhere they could (they are in no place to be choosy) and their subordinates would simply implode if this scandal came out. The holy ones, for example, would go berserk and demand the evil king not to lay his filthy claws on their virgin queen.
That is false. She has not been pure for three centuries. And she was the one who initiated it with him, by the way.
The evil ones, on the other hand, would hurl fire at the holy ones' wings and scream at them that their "pussy ass" would never influence their king to feel the nauseating love and sympathy that they've been harping on about since time knows when.
That is false. He likes to go on faraway vacations with her and pretend to be a domestic husband who cooks for and massages his wife. He also enjoys being submissive once in a while.
So when their annual "faceoff" at the border approaches once again, both stare at each other and breathe a long, centuries-old sigh. Oh, what they wouldn't give to just play dead and run away together when everyone else falls asleep while mourning their corpses.

Open Arms: Mission Part 2
As the menacing monsters approached, the Riders took a stand and attacked. FixFox swung a wrench at a Bloodline Picky as it came at her, it's head split open from the swing. "Looks like some of these are unfinished or weaker than others!"
Picky meanwhile tried to punch at the Bloodline Dogday but it barely flinched, until Hoppy jumped up and kicked it in the face, Leopardaisy then phased through the roof above and kicked it in the back of the head causing it to collapse down "These are really just ugly." Leopardaisy said "Aye" Picky replied "Look out! Another!" She then added, they ducked to avoid the Bloodline Kickin that came at them and prepared to attack it.
Bobby, Crafty, Berserkerine and FixFox were struggling with not one but 4 Bloodline Hoppy's. "Bes, I think you need to overdrive.." Berserk removed his helmet and clicked his neck in confidence "Got it." with that Berserkerine stepped forward towards the approaching Bloodlines sparking with gold electricity. Fox, Crafty and Bobby watched as Berserk's body changed fur colour to a black starry mist with gold lightning, the Bloodlines stepped back in fear. "Bad move, bub." Berserkerine snarled. Fully becoming his Overdrive mode he roared at the Bloodlines and started decimating them.
"Holy.." Bobby and Crafty muttered. "Yeah, he's only allowed to use it as a last resort." FixFox explained.
Avoiding rampaging unfinished Bloodlines left and right was Lemur, ducking to avoid another, he was pulled back by Mama Mammoth just in time "Stay close to me, Lemur!" Bubba then put his hand on her shoulder "And you better stay close to me!" The three then ducked to avoid a rampaging Bloodline Bubba. "No, YOU stay close to me." Mama sternly said to Bubba.
"Mama! Bubba! Look!" Lemur said, pointing. Several cultists ships were taking off "Looks like their escaping." He added. "Their not worth the trouble, honey. Let's focus on the mission" Mama said to Lemur.
Elsewhere deep in the bowels of the factory, Dogday, Z, Catnap and Drago approached a large door "Stand aside, i'll burn us through." Drago said as he brandished a ball of blue fire and hurled it at the door, melting it open. There they found...no one strapped to the wall?
"Dogbite??" Dogday called out as he looked around "No..she can't have..." Were they too late for him? Did the Seraphim take Dogbite with him? Dogday began to sink to his knees in defeat until.."WATCHOUT!!" Catnap yelled but it was too late.
The four where swung into the wall by a Bloodline monster, gathering their bearings they see it was a Bloodline Catnap along with a Bloodline Dogday, Hoppy and Kickin. The Bloodline Hoppy looked at the wall in confusion, as if saying: Wasn't our prisoner supposed to be here?
A loud yell came from above the Bloodlines as a very-alive Dogbite hurled a sunblast at them and landed in front of the team. "Dogbite!" Dogday said relieved. Dogbite turned to his older brother "Oh hey big bro...guess you heard of my dumb decision." Dogday simply put his hand on his shoulder "Dogbite, you've just been mislead, that's all. We've all come to save you...heads up!"
They swiftly dodged the Bloodline Catnap and made quick work of them with their powers. As the other critters meanwhile were fighting more Bloodlines off, Dogday contacted them "Everyone, I've got Dogbite!" Craftycorn replied "Copy that, captain! We've got to go!" The other Riders received the news to and with that, everyone headed out the base back to their cycles, meanwhile the two brothers got on their cycle.
"Hey...Thanks for..coming after me, we're even now." Dogbite spoke "Brother's don't keep score." Dogday replied smiling and they flew back to the Critter ships, with them clear FixFox pressed the detonator and the entire factory was destroyed, the mission was a success.
Later, both teams were in the ship congratulating eachother, Dogday and Dogbite meanwhile were talking "So yeah..i've really just been my own worst enemy, it's not a competition, it's a war...I've really just been..."
"An arrogant douche?" Z asked crossing his arms. "Z!" Dogday barked, on the defensive. Dogbite sighed "What he said, big bro. I've just been that the whole time since forming my own crew, we're on the same side and my alienating only strained my teams relations. My ego got too out of control..." He looked down at the ground, ashamed. Dogday and Z looked at eachother, Z then approached and lifted Dogbite's chin to look up at him "Hey, acknowledging your issues and wanting to fix them are always a start, bud."
With that, the hologram of Poppy and Mr Ludwig himself appeared via the meeting table. "Mr Ludwig? Poppy?" Drago asked them. "Congratulations to all of you, this had put a major dent in the Cult's work. A job well done." Dogbite then walked up to the table "Hey, director. You were right all along about me, I was indeed getting too reckless and competitive, it's what got me captured in the first place, all I can say is how sorry for how stupid i've been."
Mr Ludwig gave a gentle nod to Dogbite "I am relieved you have learned your lesson Dogbite and understood the big picture that we are all working to a common goal, not competing against eachother." Dogbite smiled and his ears raised at Ludwig's comment.
"But your still on suspension." Ludwig added
Leopardaisy, overhearing stepped in "Ah, come on boss! Our captain learned his lesson but he still can't lead for a while?" Ludwig sighed "Suspended is suspended." Dogbite looked down, a little sad "however..I will shorten the suspension to just two weeks. He will be back in time for the upcoming gala." He added with a smile. "Have a good day, Riders." He said as the transmission ended.
"Guess I'll see you guys in two weeks" Dogbite said to his brother who put his hand on his shoulder. "Hey, it's alright now little brother. Go back to Eden, chill out, enjoy yourself and freshen up."
The two brothers then shared a hug with everyone watching.

Cross Guild Romance prompt: During negotiations with a rich island, someone drugs Buggy's drink, but somehow Crocodile ends up drinking it. The drug is a scary substance that simulates death, but actually leaves the victim alive. Crocodile collapses and Buggy and Mihawk desperately try to save him but to no avail, Crocodile "dies". His body is taken to the hospital tent morgue while Buggy and Mihawk, both enraged at the loss of their love, go berserk together and nearly sink the whole island before their crew finds a way to restrain them somehow. Buggy and Mihawk are absolutely devastated. Later in the dead of night (pun intended) Crocodile with his devil fruit metabolism suddenly comes to, very much alive, confused, and wondering why he's in the freaking morgue. He drags himself outta their and stumbled home to the residence he shares with Mihawk and Buggy, who are both awake and grieving deeply. Imagine their shock when their giant sand man shows up and asks what the freaking hell is going on?
I say Crocodile wasn’t looking at the drink he was reaching for, taking Buggy’s drink for himself. Holy stars, that must have been terrifying for everyone there. That person or people who tried to drugged Buggy is probably wishing they didn’t do that.
I feel bad for everyone because what happened. I’m sure the island is now on lockdown for the time being. Because Crocodile just randomly collapsing and “dying” after drinking something isn’t normal. I wonder if the person was caught yet or not? Did the person get punished or is Buggy and Mihawk waiting until they are more collected to do a punishment?
Then Crocodile wandering into their residence, wondering what the hell happened more than anything now that he walked into their semi destroyed room to see wailing clown and non-responsive vampire. When Buggy and Mihawk is there, shit going to be even chaotic.
They work it out in the end… If anyone saw Crocodile coming from the morgue will probably faint from it.

Recent chapters of the underrated Fate spinoff Fate/type Redline got me in my feelings so I had to talk about it at lengths, even moreso now that it hasn't updated in months (the mangaka, Ryouji Hirano, has health problems I believe). Spoilers obviously.
Now, when I call type Redline, "underrated", it's more of a subjective than objective assessment. Despite being a manga and thus far more accessible than the untranslated visual novels or light novel series of TYPE-MOON, I see it discussed fairly rarely. At the very least, as far as I know, there hasn't been much big posts analyzing it, so I believe this should be one of the first.
Just don't expect something really deep, these are mostly my musing, rambling observations.
In fact, for a long time, I didn't really have a well-articulated thought about Redline's themes. The contrast of a Holy Grail War taking place in the middle of a world war simply had me chalk it up to the tried and true "war is hell" and not think any deeper (which was a bit intellectually lazy of me). And there is certainly that, but it's a bit more elaborate than that, or else I wouldn't find Redline as interesting. And it all reached a thematic "climax" of sorts in the recent chapter as of the time of writingé
In reality, the story signaled its central theme from the very start, I just wasn't paying attention. One of the first chapters ends with this page:
Tumblr media
At first, I thought this was just about Nobunaga. But it turns out this specific page and its text will become the precursor of how the manga is going to present Servants, and how this presentation fits into its larger representation of what war is.
Something you hear somewhat frequently when people mention Redline is "it made Servants scary again". It is only half true, Servants have usually only been "scary" in specific circumstances (Bluebeard in FZ, True Assassin in FSN, and Jackie in Apo come to mind). What they actually mean is that Redline shows Servants as above human again, and it does so by showing them brutally go through lots and lots of human bodies, when Fate is usually about Servants fighting each other. You see Servants vs. humans sometimes, but it's usually 1v1 deals. The only notable exception I can think of is Clan Calatin against Alcides in strange Fake.
There is also Apocrypha, but they are up against armies of homunculi, golems, and animated skeletons, so the dynamic is a bit different than with modern armies. It does however say this.
Indeed, Lancer of Red could burn to ash and crush the stakes with his flames and divine spear. But the Red camp's odds of successfully opposing the Black camp's overwhelming amount of material resources were fifty-fifty. Fighting a force of twenty thousand was beyond the capacities of even a mighty Heroic Spirit. Even then, there would have been no problems if they were alive, but right now they were Servants. The more they consumed prana in great quantities, the closer they approached death. (Apocrypha volume 2 ch.2)
Which is interesting in light of Redline's story, but I digress.
But here, in Redline, because it's during the Second World War, and members of the military are using Servants to do their bidding as well as planning to use them to win the war, there are a lot of interactions between Servants and modern human armies, usually violent ones, to catastrophic results, as Servants go through lots of human meat like cheese. The picture above is after Oda Nobunaga shoots down an entire fleet of American planes heading to Japan.
It's a type of interactions we only ever really saw when Berserker Lancelot in Zero overtook a JSDF fighter jet to fight Gilgamesh on Vimana, while the other plane got eaten by the Lovecraftian horror Caster summoned. The militarized forces of Faldeus in FsF mostly only go after human mages and steer clear of Servants.
And that makes for an interesting contrast that Redline is all too happy to highlight time and time again. When they say "Servants are scary", they mean "Servants are above human", in every sense of terms. No normal human can harm them or even pose a challenge to them, for they are above human strength and capabilities: they are superhuman, they are inhuman.
And that does not just mean inhuman power, but also inhuman thinking.
One of the main conflict throughline of the manga is the relationship between Kanata Akagi, our main protagonist, and his Servant Okita. They don't clash as such, it's not like Fate route Shirou hindering Saber from doing her job, nor is it like Kiritsugu disregarding Saber. It's more low-key, like a misunderstanding that can never be solved. Okita was a warrior in life, and this Holy Grail War in war-torn Japan is just another battlefield to her. Kanata however was born and raised in a Japan long after the war ended, in more peaceful times where he never had to kill. And it's this fundamental difference in lived experiences and mindset that stops them from ever reaching an understanding about how to approach the war:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even later, as the war goes on, after Okita almost killed potential allies (more on that later), and Kanata reveals to her he comes from the future and what his goals are (ensure his grandma doesn't die and he can come back), and they decide to have a more honest partnership with each other, it's still not enough.
Because when Okita kills a human soldier again, this time a soldier wounded by Berserker who charged Kanata because he was a Master and he blamed magi for how pear-shaped the whole situation has become, this time she does a 180 and instead of convincing Kanata to become ready to kill, she instead wants him to think of her as his tool to kill in his place and take the burden upon herself:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kanata can only ask her if she's really fine being a sword to be used by someone else and nothing more, to which she replies that's all she needs.
Do note how completely obscured, borderline blank (save for a small, thin-lipped smile), Okita's face is as she says this. As if Kanata and us readers really can't tell how she actually feels about her own words.
This is not the first time the manga does this with Okita.
Coming back to the almost aborted alliance I mentioned earlier, what happened is that, a few chapter before this, the Rider of this war, Sakamoto Ryouma and Oryou, met with Okita to ask her and her Master for an alliance to stop the war from spiraling further and kill more innocents. It would be normal to be suspicious of their intentions, especially since Ryouma initially hides from her that he is a Servant.
But that's not the reasoning Okita uses to reject the alliance and subsequently attack them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"There is only one path for me (war)." And here it is again: "She's not human."
And it happened even earlier too. When Servant Assassin (Okada Izou) fights Okita, he grows more and more disturbed as he doesn't feel fear, anger, or exaltation as he fights and cuts her, feeling nothing at all from her aside from the scent of blood. Okada's thoughts are interspersed with Kanata's own thoughts about visiting his dying comatose grandmother in the hospital as a kid. And when Kanata touched his grandmother's hand, just like when Okada faces Okita, all it felt like was that:
Tumblr media
As you can see, a lot of emphasis, both textually and visually, that Okita does not feel human, and her way of thinking is so alien people can't comprehend her.
And it's not just her, Servants in general are portrayed this way throughout. You saw the pilot's words about Nobunaga at the start of this post, but it occurs later as well. When she was first summoned in the previous war a few years ago by the Imperial Army, her summoner was an arrogant dude who tried to get her to submit and she casually beheaded him. Following that is this page:
Tumblr media
Nothing showing on this blood soaked face except for elongated eyes like those of a monster. And after that, everyone in the room prostrate themselves before her like she is a god they worship.
She picks her Master from the crowd, the half-Japanese girl Kaname Asama, and she treats her surprisingly decently from what we see throughout the manga, giving the shrinking violet of a girl respect like she is her attendant, unlike Kaname's boss Magatsu (more on him later) who threatens her and even hits her.
So you would think they have a cordial relationship? Well, maybe they did, but that was until the recent chapter, which has Magatsu's Berserker fight Lancer, and instead of helping their ally, Nobunaga wants to leave, which leads to this exchange:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The same face and eyes again. Kaname doesn't understand her Servant, nor can she tell what she's thinking, just as Nobunaga's face loses all expression, making it impossible for us to tell as well.
(This is not exactly new in regard to Nobu: Keikenchi, the original author of Koha-Ace and the mind behind Redline, already made a Koha-Ace oneshot previously focusing on her, and in it it was shown that, when she was alive, Nobunaga could not "hear" the voices of other people, other humans, and it's her being unable to understand other people that contributed to both her rise and fall)
Another Servant serving as a good example of this is Berserker, which obviously makes sense when it's the Class that from the very start of the Fate franchise in Fate/stay night was there to be impossible to communicate with. But interestingly, everything that surrounds Berserker, not just the Servant itself, reinforces this theme, as if the story employs irony in making the maddest of them all in a war full of mad people the more in-depth examination of the idea instead of being the most obvious.
But I need to scale back a bit to explain.
The Master of Berserker is Major Magatsu, the head of the Imperial Army's magecraft division and one of the main human antagonist. He is kind of interesting in how it's not just his Servant, but his own actions that act as a fulcrum to demonstrate the point. See, in these last stages where it is clear Japan is going to lose, Magatsu wants to keep the war going. His main goal is that he sees the war as not just for the glory of Japan, but as an opportunity to create a world where mages stand at the top, even planning to orchestrate a secret coup within the Japanese military. He is able to amass a great number of men under him, all fanatically loyal to him due to a mixture of his own charisma and appeal to nationalism as well as cigarettes laced with suggestive tobacco making the soldiers smoking it pliable. His followers are so loyal in fact, that when a team of them comes back defeated after facing a Servant trying to deal with Team Kanata, they beat the only survivor up and torture him for his failure and for failing Magatsu, without Magatsu's knowledge or consent (in fact, he is slightly disturbed by this and thinks to reduce the dosage of the tobacco).
But that doesn't deter him from his tactics. Even when he has to hasten his coup after being forced to when pro-war proponents in the war ministry are assassinated, leading to his enraged troops to blame the proponents of suing for peace within the ministry, he still keeps with the easily pliable and fanatical troops even though it is clear he can barely control them. "When the madman runs, any man not mad starts running" is written on a banner hanging on the wall of the magecraft division's headquarters, and Magatsu, who doesn't know who wrote it, finds it a good quote, not knowing how prophetic the words would become. Regardless, Magatsu has made the entire magecraft division and then some fold under his command by making them believe he will be the hero to save Japan. He makes many speeches about saving the nation and how the preservation of the Empire is vital to the preservation of the soul of the nation, and can easily drive crowds into nationalistic frenzy with talks of using Archer and Berserker to fight on mainland Manchuria, and clearly invoking the spirit of complete sacrifice to the nation like in banzai charges and kamikaze, even if not explicitly:
Sometimes, an ordinary and unrefined person will defeat their fear of death and become a noble person with the resolve to throw away their own lives. This phenomenon, which one could call a miracle, is occuring at this very moment, in various places within Japan. War allows all sorts of miracles to exist.
For these reasons, the Colonel, the so far unnamed high-ranked Nazi who is Magatsu's main ally, praises him for "having a knack for understanding human nature", which is why he gives him Berserker, as he believes that, if he experiences the war from the same position as Servants, Magatsu may be able to come to understand them...especially, as he notes, Magatsu completely failed to have Nobunaga pay him any attention:
Tumblr media
Magatsu, for all his charisma and servile attitude, completely fails to have Nobunaga pay him any attention even once since her summoning years ago. When summoned, she ignored him in favor of going to Kasame. She doesn't follow his orders nor does she even acknowledge him as a faithful follower: he might as well be air in her eyes. Not only that, she only talks to his subordinate Kaname Asama, whom he disdains for having foreign blood due to being half-Japanese. And the Colonel rightly realizes that Nobunaga's lack of interest makes him seethe. Magatsu seethes so much in fact that he comes to the conclusion that he doesn't need to understand Servants, especially to win when they don't seem to care what he's they're fighting for, so he would rather settle for Berserker than the unruly Archer, believing he can control him thanks to the Heroic Spirit Restraining Device provided by the Nazis. Very predictably, it goes pretty poorly.
As soon as he's summoned and out of the tank he was put in, Berserker immediately begins to indiscriminately kill soldiers of the magecraft division for no reason, and when Magatsu attempts to use his Command Spells on him, he cuts off his arm and crushes it, making the Command Spells disappear. Berserker then engages in a rampage throughout the magecraft division base, gleefully killing every soldier in his way, yet does not kill his Master despite his failed attempt to restrain him:
Tumblr media
Magatsu is unwittingly along for the ride as Berserker carries him in his arms as he goes about his "fun".
Naturally, Magatsu's men try to slow down and stop Berserker using "anti-Servant" weapons (lol) that obviously do jack shit. But they use too much firepower and seemingly ignore Magatsu's cries for help, which leads him to believe that they are trying to kill them both. Berserker agrees in his twisted logic, and enacts more violence as he believes his Master is in danger.
The reality is actually different: when Kaname Asama try to get to exercise more caution so they do not accidentally hit and hurt the Major, when he is clearly an hostage, one soldier slaps her and rebukes her, madly stating that there is no way the savior of Japan would ever get hurt by these weapons.
They keep throwing weapons and men at Berserker, which eventually confuses Magatsu, because weren't they trying to kill him? Why then are they wasting their lives against a Servant?
Which is when the point is made.
As this massacre rages on, Magatsu is telepathically contacted by the Colonel, who congratulates him on summoning Berserker and says that the Restraining Device is working wonderfully saying as the major's mana and life are still intact. Magatsu, enraged, accuses the Colonel of having done something to his men, maybe brainwashing them to kill themselves, which is a fair accusation considering it is the Nazis who did assassinate the war hawks and forced Magatsu to accelerate his coup plans.
Except the Colonel says he had nothing to do with it and the reason for the soldiers' actions is far simpler: they admire Magatsu, they truly, genuinely do. The Colonel explains that his accomplishments, from taking control of the war to making a Servant protect the capital from air raids, made him look like a true messiah in the eyes of his men, and Magatsu was too blind to see it. Of course he denies it and calls the Colonel a liar, until he sees one of his men approach and try to reach him, only to be pierced by Berserker's spear for his troubles, and as he lays dying, Magatsu hears his last words on his bloody lips: "Glory to the Major."
As the one-sided battle against the human waves of martyrs continue, the Colonel throws Magatsu's earlier words about the war "allowing miracles" back to his face, bringing the whole arc to its logical conclusion, and I will transcribe the speech in its entirety since it intersperses scenes of the battle and that's too much images to for this post:
How about you open your eyes to reality for once? The only sane person in that battlefield is you. War is cruel. It burdens its victims with a detestable fate. But look at them. They do it for their country, for you. Their madness calls forth even more madness. All these men rush forward, knowing well only death awaits them. War takes these ordinary men, and turn them into martyrs. War allows all sorts of miracles. I thank you. You've allowed me to witness something beautiful. Did seeing people die finally get to you? Feeling remorse? I suppose you didn't have what it takes to be a soldier. This is no time to be losing your mind, Major. It's not everyday you get to experience war from such a safe position. Revel in it a little more. You are at the center of a miracle. That which creates miracles, and gathers people's faith. What do you call that, Major? Do you know? A God. Congratulations, Messiah. In this exact moment and place, you are the one closest to a God.
Tumblr media
Just as the voice of God can't reach mortals, your voice can't reach these men. For alas, there are none who can hear it. Raise your head, Major. The curtain has fallen at last. And you should now be able to understand her a little more.
Archer arrives, looking down at Berserker and Magatsu standing on the mountain of corpses of all the men of the magecraft division, and Magatsu tries one last time to get her to look at him by calling for her help, as all he ever wanted was to prove he was worthy to stand at her side...and she laughs in his face. She mocks him for thinking he could ever control a Servant and finds his tear-stained and snotty face hilarious.
And Magatsu, at this last straw after everything, breaks.
As he begins to laugh maniacally, his Servant joins in, and as Archer, Berserker, and him laugh, it's as if the corpses of his men, their mouth frozen in bloody leering rictus by rigor mortis, are laughing with them. Magatsu finally realizes it was wrong to think to use Servants in a war, because they could never be measured by human standards.
It's not that Servants can't be understood, not solely. This sequence of chapters shows it goes deeper than that: it's war that turns everyone mad, and thus makes understanding impossible among humans. And Servants are humanity writ large, the highest of the high and the lowest of the low, because you need to be larger than life to be remembered for eternity in the Throne of Heroes. Which means that, where war turns humans into mad monsters, it makes the Heroic Spirits standing above humans into the embodiments, the apotheosis, the personified concepts of madness.
They are mad gods.
The World War and the Holy Grail War are both founts of insanity, because that's what war does. The average soldier's brain briefly brushes with the eternal sublime, the mysterium tremendum et fascinans that turns humans into figures of worship recorded and enthroned for eternity beyond space and time. And this brief contact with the Absolute gives them the divine language that makes them unintelligible to other men. Their visages, like Moses' after descending the mountain, can no longer be looked upon. They are completely obscured to us who don't live and breathe for war, for violence is their domain now.
War makes Berserkers of us all.
Is it any wonder that the Classes of the Holy Grail War by design favor warriors and warmongers? This war is rife with adepts of violence: a warlord (Nobunaga), a warrior (Mori), a secret police assassin (Okita), a plain assassin (Okada), and a martial artist (Li Shuwen). All of which mad in their own way and choosing the path of violence over any other options.
And I don't think it's a coincidence that the sanest and most "normal" Servants we have seen in Redline not only belong to the Classes less obviously about violence or weaponry, Rider and Caster, but their identities are also not famous for violence: the Rider was a politician and diplomat, while the Caster is a scientific thought experiment about the laws of physics.
I don't know how this will conclude or shake out, but I have my suspicions. Our protagonist Kanata comes from the peaceful post-war Japan and has so far always been repulsed by violence, despite attempts by his Servant and his grandmother to get him to get used to it to be more effective in the war. In fact, he reaffirms that he wants to win the war without becoming a remorseless bloodthirsty killer.
I can see potential routes the story can take depending on whether he slowly succumbs to war's madness or he heroically resists its call. Especially if he is pitted against what seems to be one of the main antagonists, the Nazi Colonel, clearly war's most fervent prophet, whose face is always obscured.
We'll see. The latest chapter as of the time of writing is the fight between Lancer and Berserker. Even the pair that seems to get along the best, Team Lancer, has the Master threatened by her Servant for almost "interrupting" his fight by trying to heal his wounds. And her (current) last words are a perfect encapsulation of the manga and my whole thesis:

Theory on Nori’s actual personality
Ok but what if it’s revealed that Nori isn’t necessarily malicious or evil or satan’s spawn, like specifically during her time at the labs and camps.
Like yes I know she seems to be enjoying herself after the core collapse thanks to the pictures in EP4 and at the interview shown in EP6 despite Alice going berserk and smashing her own head and Yeva hurting and terrified. Not only her body language but also the fact she is resting her arm on one of the sentinels as if they were mere pets gives her almost disney villian vibes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because to me she could be somewhat similar to N. She is a beacon of positivy, it may be simply her personality or a developed coping mechanism
It could be that her chill and cool vibes are astonishing. So it’s not that she doesn’t care or anything, she simply isn’t aware of the gravity of the situation or takes things easy.
Plus the fact that the goddam sentinels are so chill around her that even one of them lets Nori put her arm on top of them can maybe be seen as the sentinels not perceiving Nori as a threat, and more as a companion, maybe even as a friend.
Her EP6 appearance may be a red herring or is purposely made so we draw the wrong conclusion.
Bc most of her bad actions where when she was under the influence of the AS:
- Like before the core collapse happened we clearly saw in EP6 that Nori was fully possessed bc of her yellow eyes. And we in the footage you can see drones or even human limbs scattered around her, so all of that was when she was possessed.
- after the core collapse she shows to be quite friendly, it could be that she doesn’t remember a lot after her possession. Unlike Yeva who probably was still processing everything.
Tho tbh I can cut her some slack if she indeed was happy after the humans perished after the core collapse. Since you know, she was experimented and probably witnessed a lot of fucked up shit.
- When Alice mentioned that she left them to die, she also later added she had yellow eyes, again, Nori was possessed at that time. Alice probably didn’t know that the one who probably left them to die was the AS, not Nori
- Now this more of an assumption, but the fact that in Nori’s closet Khan kept boxes and boxes of “happy family memories” it probably meant their relationship was pretty good.
- And things only went south when Nori started to get visions(?). Also she constantly told Khan to build doors against the coming sky demons. Clearly she was trying to protect herself, Uzi and Khan, and probably the rest of the colony (which also included Yeva, which would go against the interpretation that Nori didn’t care much for Yeva). Also remember, it was Khan who wasn’t there for Nori, she needed him, she tried to warn him.
-Its also worth mentioning that Yeva might have not been harmed by Nori during the interview shown at EP6. Bc first there is no sharp object that could potentially be used against Yeva. (Wait now that I think about it, there is a JCJenson pen, and if u remember the pilot, that pen could have actually been used to cause Yeva’s injury but it seems to be lacking oil stains)
And its a higher possibility that Alice could have done it, as it seems she has gone berserk and drew with her own oil on the walls and is clawing at the wall, and maybeee she also used Yeva’s oil to draw.
Also Nori couldn’t have used the AS directly on Yeva due to both having the AS. And a interpretation made by @capnsaltsquid said that Yeva’s eye got damaged by the AS itself, it fucking blew up, due to her body not being very “compatible” with the AS. (Yeva my poor gal :( )
Again I think it all depends on interpretation.
Now does this mean she is a pure holy saint? No. Murder Drones is a show where most ppl aren’t really a saint. Yes..probably not even my gal Yeva. But Nori could be that at the end she wasn’t evil or smth. She could have a similar situation to Cyn.
Now personally would enjoy if she actually started off as antagonist or even villian when she got the AS at the labs and had to unfortunately learn the hard way about the dangers of the AS later. Wouldn’t mind at all if she occasionally showed moments of villainy.
And me being me, how about devil’s advocate?
Maybe she was indeed a son of a bitch at her time at the labs maybe she was happy after the destruction she caused after the core collapse.
What if Nori actually planned to get possessed? What if the AS offered her freedom by getting rid of the humans. Bc the AS drawing below her shown on the EP6 footage surrounded by body remains gives me “summoning the local Eldritch god inside of my body to do silly stuff” vibes
Tumblr media
For all we know the AS could have given her a sense of control, power, and superiority and for a lab rat surrounded by robo-raptors and other, more aggressive lab rats, that must have felt amazing.
Also it would be nice to have a villian who fully embraces the AS, even for only a period of time.
Before you say we have Doll, I don’t think so, well partially:
-She immediately feels sorry for Uzi upon learning she also has the AS, and she promised her to help her once she finds what she is looking for.
-She also calls the AS a “sickness” via Tessa’s comment on EP6.
-A lot of ppl and myself included infer that what Doll is looking for is a cure for the AS
-Even if she uses the AS a lot more than Uzi I think Doll is simply taking advantage of it while she has it, its the only ready available tool she has. But I don’t think she necessarily likes having it. Plus Doll has more control over her body over the AS unlike Uzi.
So I would love for Nori at the beginning to embrace the AS, that loves it. Sees it as a blessing rather than a sickness. That feels a rush of control when using it.
Or we could go the more, chill route, she uses it more due to carelessness and ignorance.
And perhaps for her later go “Well maybe I don’t want this thing anymore”
But realistically from what I gathered, I see her someone who is chill, open, easy going, sociable and perhaps, careless.
Tho am begging on my knees for her to be a morally grey sassy lady.

Holy shit another Lucifer fan in the critical community
Yes, I'm a fan of the silly looking devil. 😊 I know Lucifer is not everyone's cup of tea but I really vibe with him and he has similar mannerisms and traits me which made him reach comfort character status. He is also a fun and easy character to draw (minus his coat, I rarely draw him wearing it).
I have minor issues with his character. I like that he does not fit typical depictions of Lucifer. I hope we see more of a crueler side to him, or his character alignment is Neutral Evil not just the silly rubber ducky depressed guy who misses his wife.
Even though his full demon form is not scary (he is even more goofy ass looking), I did like him losing his cool and going berserk on Adam. I like Adam but he deserved that 100%. I want more moments like that.
I feel like I am asking for too much because I feel like due to Lucifer's newfound popularity, Viv and the other writers are not going to do that because the fan favorites are not allowed to do anything too negative or cruel unless they are unpopular character or whatever.

Even when they were separated, Crocodile was on edge every time he heard Dragon was spotted in or near Big Mom's territory. He had the misfortune of sailing with that woman for years, so he's very familiar with how she treats rare races and animals like collectible dolls. And of the three races who don't live in Tottoland, one of them is the winged humans. If she ever got wind of Dragon being Shandoran, she'd either try to stick him in a giant bird cage or throw half of her daughters at him to get him to marry into the family.
Linlin always said she'd contribute to the Revolution's cause, but Dragon could see right through that shit. Frankly, she's almost as bad as the Celestial Dragons in his eyes. A spoiled child who never grew out of her bad behavior because everyone around her enabled her worst traits, only with the added caveat of being so physically strong that people were afraid to contradict her.
(Also it seems heavily implied, at least to me, that whatever is going on with Big Mom's hunger pangs is connected to the giant kids at Punk Hazard who had those same rage episodes when denied NHC-10 laced candy. This woman was potentially born as a result of gigantification experiments and suffered from untreated hereditary chemical dependence and was later almost trafficked to the same organization who caused her condition before eating her whole family due to said condition, holy SHIT, Dragon did not think the World Government could continue to sink so low).
Charlotte Linlin… to this day the name still sends an unpleasant shiver up Crocodile’s spine.
There comes a certain point in the life a person who refuses to acknowledge that they are sick in the mind that they can very easily transfer over to the role of an abuser. This was the case with Charlotte Linlin.
He is loathe to admit it, but her dream grew twisted and ugly in much the same way his had, but that is where the similarity ended. He was still a conniving, cold-blooded old bastard, don’t get him wrong, but at least he wasn’t hoarding people like shadowbox curios under some shoddily applied veneer of peace. He had standards.
Not many, mind you, bit he did have them.
The idea of Dragon being put in a not-so-gilded cage and treated as little more than breeding stock for her perfect little candyland flavored hellscape was enough to have him burning through his cigars like more of a madman than he already is.
They were long estranged, yes, but he still loved the man, dammit! That was the father of his child!
When they eventually reconcile, one of the conditions of that reconciliation is that if Dragon is ever, ever having to be in or near Big Mom’s territory (he’ll only ever be convinced that the witch is dead if someone brings him her head, and even then he’ll still have his suspicions) that he will call before he goes in and after he goes out.
He is not losing him to that berserking old hag.

Sanji black fire theory
I know a lot of people already were talking about it, but because the theories I saw tend to associate it with some demonic epithet, I have been very hesitant to adopt it. The theory I have is that his max power would have a godly/holy name (my theory/explanation here), so I had been very reserved about the black fire thing.
I have now somewhat changed my mind about it.
It occurs to me that if the black fire is the manifestation of conqueror haki, it can still have a "holy" epithet. For example, Shanks's haki attack is called Kamusari 神避, or translated as "Divine Departure".
Tumblr media
With that in mind I'm gonna revisit the "foxfire" idea I once mentioned, just with some slight tweaks.
"Foxfire" is kind of a fire ability that is not entirely explained. Back when Sanji said it in Thriller Bark, it was being portrayed as a joke. However, Kin'emon later uses "foxfire technique" that actually interacts with real fire. It produces fire, and also cuts fire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unless I missed something, I cannot find explicit description of what exactly makes the fire, but it seems to be implied to have been Haki ability. Once again, until proven otherwise, based on this I will assume that somehow Haki can generate fire.
In which case, it's not impossible that Sanji's "foxfire" joke can later manifest as a full-fledged fire ability that allows him to actually fly (like Ace).
In the same Thriller Bark context we already had a joke manifesting into reality. Remember that when Usopp told Sanji about Absalom, he just went completely berserk, and Zoro told Usopp to stop lest he "henshin into something"?
Tumblr media
Well... further plot development shows that if Sanji get really angry, he can now indeed "henshin into something":
Tumblr media
Some people have also theorised that the black fire will be related with the Germa modifications because of this, since the name "Stealth Black" implies that a successful modification would've made Sanji's hair black.
I somewhat agree with it, though I don't subscribe to the idea that Sanji's hair will turn black if he unlocks the ability to use black fire.
Going back to Kin'emon's fire ability. Assuming that it's indeed haki, then it means that he makes the fire by channelling the haki into his sword. In which case, maybe that was the same with Sanji, except that it's channelled through his leg and not through a tool or weapon.
It may be possible that if Sanji manifests advanced Conqueror Haki, which can be infused in body parts or weapons, his fire legs will be black flames. It would also match his already existing epithet, "Black Leg".
This also fits my theory about Sanji being symbolised by "solar eclipse" in relation to Kamen Rider. I may have to re-explain it based on the new material I have, but the short of it is: I see Sora as representing "sun", while Germa is "moon". Solar eclipse is a phenomenon where the sun and moon lines up.
The Kamen Rider connection is that Kamen Rider Black, whose name and powers symbolise solar eclipse, has all the body modifications given to him (including an exoskeleton armour) by the evil organisation. However, due to still having human heart, he uses all that power for good. I strongly feel that sensei used this particular character as Sanji's reference.
Therefore, I feel that this means that Sanji will use "both the sun and moon together", not see the "moon" as a hindrance. He will "redeem" the exoskeleton and other Germa modifications that he has. Someone somehow will fix it later so that it will not affect his ability to empathise and be kind, and he will combine the exoskeleton (Germa science) with Armament Haki and Conqueror Haki (Sora's influence) to use the black flames.
Why is Haki "Sora's influence"? Because as we've seen with the other brothers, not having fear of death means that they also don't have a particularly strong will to push themselves to the limit. They do have some fighting spirit still, but it doesn't seem to be enough.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even if you argue that Perospero's candy is too strong to break, you don't see the Vinsmoke brothers bothering to even try. For example, until proven otherwise, Yonji's power was supposedly some kind of superstrength that is above Ichiji and Niji. Why is he talking about the weapons and not trying to break free?
Compare that to Luffy, who we know has very strong will, using all his power to try to pull himself free from the book pins that trapped him. Nami and Opera both told him it's no use, but he still tries anyway.
Haki is a power that comes from willpower. No strong will, no haki. Therefore, Sanji's ability to use haki is because of Sora's efforts to preserve his "heart".
Aside from the symbolism, we already saw that he needed to have the exoskeleton in order to use Ifrit Jambe. His normal body is not strong enough to withstand the heat. If black fire is even more powerful than Ifrit, he will need the exoskeleton even more than this.
Tumblr media
It would be really cool if the flying foxfire joke manifests as black fire wings, really. It would be a close allusion to the Lunarians, without actually making him one.
My personal favourite guesses for the "godly/holy" names Sanji might use for his max power are: Acala (Fudou Myou'ou is a god connected to solar eclipse), Garuda (Lunarians resemble Garuda), Archangel (as a counter to Seraphim)
I'm sort of reserved about Garuda, honestly, because Sanji knows that was Judge's name. The clones were saying it when the two fought. Sanji might not want to use it as his own power name, because he hates Judge, and even "redeeming" the Germa ability for good usage might not erase his distaste for the name.
Still, maybe it will turn out that Garuda has a much deeper significance in One Piece lore. A personal favourite theory of mine is that Germa in the past is actually a force of good, and Sanji will be the one to "reclaim" that good past somehow. Maybe Garuda is related to that, and so if the good outweighs the awful stuff Germa has become, maybe he'll be okay with it.
Secondary guesses that are still cool, but not my personal preference: Draco/Dragon (due to yin yang symbolism), Vulcan (fire god), Surya (sun), Ignis/Agni (also fire).
A rather unlikely option, but it would be funny if it's true: "Erasmus". St Elmo's fire is sort of the Western version of foxfire, and "Elmo" is the shortened form of "Erasmus". Funny because then we can make Hellmo memes about it.

Transformers Skybound #15 spoilers below cut
This issue was so good, bro... Mainly because of the Autobots ngl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, my monthly dose of Constructicons as background flavoring while important stuff happens. Hmmm.
Tumblr media
More sympathetic Thundercracker, I really want to see where this goes. As for now, nothing new. (beyond the escalation of murder, ofc).
Tumblr media
WE GOT BLUESTREAK BEFORE PROWL! I LOVE BLUESTREAK SO MUCH!!
Tumblr media
Daddymus...
Urrgh! I'm kinda loving Arcee's character; I liked how they portrayed her dealing with what was basically a relapse into violence and rage.
Tumblr media
Megoptimus...?
Megatron has been shown the ability to influence others; is this connected to it?
Tumblr media
DIALOGUE!! WE ARE WINNING.
Also, hey... Jorge Corona doesn't use the inferior Sunbow model for him.
Tumblr media
Brooo, the payoff for this must be huge; if Ravage doesn't become a mainstay character, I'll go berserk. Like holy fuuuuck it's taking so long, they even drew focus to it, so I hope DWJ has something in mind.
As of now, Ravage is just a pity prop for Soundwave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They killed Jamjet.
THEY MADE BLUESTREAK COOL AF!! I'm genuinely enjoying the more jaded Autobots of Cybertron and the softer Autobots of Earth; I'm really interested in seeing how they'll eventually clash.
Can we get Elita to stab someone too?
Tumblr media
TRAILBREAKER!! IT'S BEEN SO LONG...
Tumblr media
Oh, haha, yeah, Starscream really is an inse-
Oh, hi Scrapper... You're adorable as always :)
Tumblr media
CONSTRUCTICONS WATCH OUT FOR THE COMBATICONS! OH MY GOD, THEY HAVE AIRPODS ON, THEY CAN'T HEAR US!!
Tumblr media
Is it too early to say I'm more excited for Trailbreaker showing up than Bruticus?
I'm generally neutral to the Combaticons, like, sure, whatever.
Also... SUNBOW CHARACTER MODEL 🤢.
