I really wish people would like. Learn more about what east Asian people look like, especially when it comes to fanart. There’s of course a lot of variability and no one right way for east Asian people to look, but it’s rare to find people who do art of them with monolid eyes or low nose bridges or epicanthic folds. Or people won’t realize that east Asian people tend to have lighter body hair, so they don’t usually have as much facial hair or arm hair

#my posts #idk it’s frustrating sometimes #like i don’t think it comes from any maliciousness #but man. if you’re gonna do art of asian characters #try to do a little research first #especially if it’s anime characters where they don’t have any ethnic features #like i requested both himeko and xianyun art from an event #and in both cases i asked that both be given east asian features #the himeko artist didn’t even bother with anything #and the xianyun one just made her skin darker #which is nice but wasn’t quite what i was talking about
