in this au , different steves get to be internet stars ! they can have huge fanbases that hang onto every word they say ^^ They get halos to represent that they're a star , with a twist ! these halos can have spikes on them . The spikes reference just how much influence a star has over the fanbase ! more spikes equals more influence , the sharper the spikes the more harmful this influence is !

Fans are the base of all the stars you see ! They do not hold the most power in the ranks but without them , the system would not exist ! They help in boosting the popularity of stars , celebrities , managers , you name it ! They get a set of items that allow them to boost the reputation and popularity of stars , ranging between potions , blades and even sweet treats ^_^ They also have some varieties ! to put it short , there are:

stalker fans- These fans are obsessed with the stars they follow , angering them can result in a career going down hill ! They can change their class to be a hater

normal fans- These fans are , just normal ! Angering them isn't a good decision , but they'll forgive their stars eventually !

hyperfixated fans- These are fans that will love a star's content and create lots of fanart and the likes for them ^^

HATERS -

haters are the worst ! they will be horrible to any stars that do not please them , they are slightly more powerful that fans in terms of levels and sadly , without them the system would never exist ! they have items with them that help ruin a star's reputation and like fans , they too have a few varieties ^^ This includes:

irrational haters- They are , like I said , the worst . They will do anything they can to make a star's career miserable for no reason ! They will look out for any chance they can to shame a star , even if it had happened years ago and the star has been forgiven for it ~

justified haters-Their hate is actually justified and understandable , so long as they're respectful then they're not too bad ! Just , the star shouldn't be an actual bad person .

critics-I don't think I need to explain , they aren't exactly haters but fall under them .

STARS

They are internet sensations ! They get to have fanbases ! ... and haters , both of which give them a boost and make them somewhere in the middle of the power rank ^^ Many of them hold halos ! As I mentioned , they have spikes on those halos ^^ Depending on their influence , they can have either many or few spikes ! Depending on how harmful that influence is the spikes can also be very sharp or very dull . A part of their halos have a space without spikes which they can use to hold the halo and transform it into a weapon ! This weapon can be used to harm others ( metaphor for damaging their reputation ) or even kill them ! There are also varieties of stars , namely:

Vloggers-This type of star makes videos of themselves and how they live their life !

Artists- This type of star makes art and the processes behind it , they also give out helpful art tips !

Animators- This type of star makes art , and also animates it !

Musician- This star makes music ! Several genres exist but they all end up under musician !

documentarian- This star makes documentaries !

Gameplayist-This star makes gameplays !

CELEBRITIES -

They are amongst the best , no seriously , have you seen their fanbase and their base of haters ?! They're huge ! They automatically get really spiky halos with insane sharpness , plus the weapons get extra deadly ! They have the same types as the stars but more extravagant , so I won't dive into that , but they have weapon classes like the stars do !

Whip- Yeouch ! if a celebrity uses this on someone , it immediately kills them and drives them off of the internet ! Easily the deadliest ! It's rare to find one of these !

Gun- Critical ! A quick kill ! The other person's reputation is now over ! It might be slow but it'll be painful , second most powerful in the series ! These are rare as well

Sword- Oh no ! A way to prolong someone's suffering before they eventually leave the internet ? what a monster ! the third most powerful in this series , an uncommon

Grenade-Quite the bomb shell , no ? This is a quick one but it's common , sorry !

A bow- Yeesh ! They won't see that coming ! But they might , cause that's a common , babes !

Oh an a bonus for those celebrities that are more popular than the others , they get their own customized weapons ! awesome , right ?!

Info: Reverse is a happy go lucky type of star who loves making rock music ! He is friends with Rainbow and Dark and makes music not for his fans , but for himself ! The poor chap normally has some self esteem issues but is always confident when around his friends ^^

Info: not much is known about him or his content as he has wiped all traces of his existence from the internet and goes by an pseudonym as a fan . How ever , his fanbase is still very active and have made countless archives of him . Rainbow is an apathetic and generally monotone guy but shows emotion when he feels the need to , he is friends with many people , Reverse amongst them . He doesn't seem to struggle but clearly hates attention that is focused on him .

He can help new streamers or stars by boosting them with his potion , his fanmail and also sharpen the spikes on their halo using his blade ! He is really polite and a big fan of Nightmare ^^

The red potion is used to weaken a star's influence !

Info: Perhaps one of the most famous celebrities you'll see on the internet ! Beloved of all , and hated by all . He does not have any known relations with anyone . He can use his phone to boost his own reputation , his cutting blade to destroy the halos of stars he hates , and his whip to completely drive them off of the internet . He probably likes ruining a fan's day for fun .

He shares a friendship with Reverse and a close platonic bond with Nightmare . He can use his folder to bring up information about any stars or any of the horrible things they've done in the past to add a permanent stain to their reputation . He can use the camera to keep a permanent record of another star's actions as blackmail .

Movie/Show Round UP

I haven't done one of these in awhile. As always, my thoughts are short and to the point. I don't go in depth. I'm not a professional reviewer, just my thoughts.

Under the cut there are reviews for Fly Me to the Moon, Inside/Out 2, Despicable Me 4, A Quiet Place: Day One, Dune Part 2, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, The Fall Guy, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Civil War, Madame Web, Argylle, Abigail and The Bikeriders. TV shows: Legend of Fei and Halloween Baking Championship.

Fly Me to the Moon: I saw this movie during a three show day at the theater. It was the middle movie and the biggest question mark. Turns out, the whole 'did they or didn't they' land on the moon theory was actually interesting. While I have zero interest in a rewatch, definitely worth attempting for first time viewers.

Inside/Out 2: This movie was exactly the same as the first. There's nothing new here except for possibly children experiencing new emotions. As an adult, I was bored.

Despicable Me 4: Cute. This film added nothing.

A Quiet Place: Day One: I thought it was nicely done. Still, didn't knock my socks off like the first one. My spouse wanted to know exactly how people learned to be quiet. I tried to tell him that they showed it in the second movie. He wanted more of a show. He was also annoyed that we know nothing about the aliens and it's the third movie. Slight spoiler, I wish we didn't know something about a certain character because it would've made the ending decision so much more impactful.

Dune: Part 2: Well, he tried to warn them about what would happen. I like the action that happens even though it all folds into a pretty box.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire: I barely remember this movie. It was sort of reminiscent of the previous one. A typical unite to defeat the super evil blah blah blah.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes: Disturbing T!k T0ks regarding the leads aside, this movie was enjoyable. Although, I had no idea a new movie series was starting. There were quite the few holes left so I'd see the second one.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die: I saw this before the previous one so I was quite confused in certain parts. All in all it was enjoyable. There are some funny moments. I've had the urge to watch again.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire: I haven't seen this in awhile. From what I remember there's a side character hero in here that's pretty funny. Pretty textbook, you know what's going to happen before it does.

The Fall Guy: I've heard people talking about this one and disliking it. I thought the whole purpose was to have an outrageous fun movie showing crazy stunts the doubles do. Is it the best movie? No, but if you like action it's worth a watch.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga: I'm an action girl. I highly valued the first Mad Max. This movie is obviously character based therefore slower to catch the stages of development (it's even told in chapters). I was bored. All the story shows in the normal character faced adversity, lived a hard life, finally goes for their revenge. Zero interest in a rewatch. I'll turn on the first one again.

Civil War: A weird movie full of numerous holes. A waste of my time.

Madame Web: I thought it was okay even though this movie was review bombed. There's nothing special about it, but it's not the worst movie that people complained about. Then again, to each their own.

Argylle: Another movie that was review bombed. I also guessed the likely story in this one. I think this movie suffers mostly from trying to be too many things. It goes for serious, yet wild and fun, yet logical. I think if the movie with the effects stayed 'out there' then people would've found it more enjoyable. Maybe.

Sidenote: My husband is always surprised that me (comedy hater) loves Rat Race and Joe Dirt. My response is always the same. Both movies are unapologetically insane. They don't take themselves seriously at all. I think Argylle should've done this as they had moments before deciding to become a serious spy movie.

The Bikeriders: First of all there's a narrator to this movie. Threw me off a bit at first, I normally don't watch those type of movies because i feel it leaves off clues. The movie's okay. Practically a drama in a bikerider setting. There isn't much mystery so another one that's easy to read.

Abigail: I enjoyed this movie until the ending. Not much I can say without spoiling.

Legend of Fei: I finally finished this show. Took me forever as it has good episodes, and others I cared less for (admittedly skipped scenes). Some characters were so annoying. Thankfully, Fei stopped passing out which was killing me. Xie Yun is my absolute fave. I might be biased, but all his scenes were so much fun except for the ones where he's sick :( . I've read reviews where people say they can watch this repeatedly, I'm not one of them. One and done. Sort of reminded me of WoH main storyline.

Sidenote: I love the one scene where he's reminiscing the past in his dreams and he no longer has money. The way this man kept opening up his pouch and dumping it over to make sure there were no coins. So relatable in my younger days.

Halloween Baking Championship: An era has come to an end or at least caught up in the seasons. I really like this cooking show. I hope people have some out of the box creations in the new year coming up.

Augustus was fired from Smosh after the events of We Interviewed our Biggest Hater (oct. 2021), where he then got a job working for GameStop which we see in POV: You’ve entered a GameStop (nov. 2021). This head canon is more so just for like putting together a cohesive timeline but anyways

The documentarian from the grimace sketch is the same guy from the totally true documentary series

all the chosen lore shit isn’t bs and actually true because i think it’s way more fun (sorry, know that’s not the popular approach) also the chosen HAS powers in No Nut 2022, which isn’t a sketch I’d want to be canon but oh well 💀

Some of this is rooted in canon but instead of Anthony’s whole leaving smosh saga and all the vids surrounding it, Anthony straight up completely disappears from the public eye and becomes Anthobrie (idk how to spell her name) for 7 years after food battle 2016. Every video where Anthony plays his sketch universe self post fb2016 before he quit in the timeline takes place beforehand, with new Ianthony sketches taking place after fb2023 and after whatever video they make where they reanimate him (honestly I’m predicting fb2024). Anyways to the main headcanon, Anthony straight up left the face of the earth and everyone was like “yeah he quit smosh ig…” until during the first chosen multiverse Courtney’s chosen came and was like “bro he’s fighting laser dolphins in Guam???” Because the Anthony from their universe is doing that and everyone just kinda went with it until fb2023

Pharaoh High, I’mBarly, Lianna Indiana, The Curse Of The Shorts, Dancer @ Singer School, Varsity High and Smosh the Movie (as well as other tv shows and movies acted out in sketches I didn’t say) are canon tv shows and movies within the SCU, with Smosh the movie being acted out by sketch universe Ian and Anthony

talk about those books!!! <— hungry for recommendations

okay anon :)

the first book i've been reading is "People of the lake" by Richard Leakey. it's a book about paleoanthropology in africa! i am reading a french translation dating from 1980, which was very touchingly renamed "those of lake turkana". it describes the finds and research which was done at the time on ancient hominids.

this book is remarkable in two ways to me: one in that it's genuinely well written, something rare in science books - usually, people very knowledgeable about a specific topic spent their time perfecting knowledge, not writing skills, which typically leads to science lit being hard to read. but in this book, the prose is great, with some parts feeling like you're reading some fantasy novel! i actually had to take a break reading it because it was so delicious of an experience i couldn't bring myself to read it at home or at work where i'd constantly get bothered by people and noises... which is why i turned to reading slop instead. but that'll be detailed later.

the second remarkable part ties to being a book written in the 70s. the thing with science is that new discoveries make it nearly certain something you'll find will be made obsolete a few years later. reading a 50yo science book means...many years of modern knowledge, especially in a field like archeology/paleontology where new discoveries can completly change what we think of a given species. but this book handles what it hypothesizes with such care, grace and humility that it has not aged so far. everything is presented openly as "might have been, might not, but wouldn't be wonderful?" which is such a sweet damn way to approach science to me!

now, the slop.

the second book i've been reading is actually bookS because it's a series! is Moorcock's Elric saga, which i only started reading because all the art of the character (and there's lots of it) was so uniquely wildly horny i wanted to know what the deal what. these are very famous among fantasy nerds as foundational to the genre, but not exactly mainstream.

they are mostly short adventure stories, centered around a same main character, who vary in quality. now, i will be open, i won't exactly call these books good - they are very dated for better and worst, and are not written especially well, and shine to me for their creativity that's wild in some given places as well as a constant atmosphere of irony that makes them (more or less intentionally so) hilarious. these books were written by a true hater. and it shows.

the core of these books is the main character, who stands out because he sucks. he's an overdramatic whiny richkid who's constantly running away from responsabilities and getting into deep trouble that's always more or less his fault, you either like it or you don't - i love it. his central gimmick is that he's afflicted with extremely poor health and carries around this fucked up evil sword that allows him to not wither and die the more he kills people. much dramatic conflict ensues, boohoo. it's interesting to see the sheer impact these books had on fantasy, inspiring a lot of more famous media - if it's got dragons and it's a bit edgy, there's a chance it's related. the books might feel a bit derivative to a modern reader because of this, but with a step taken back it's cool to study. i discovered to my immense pain that it's more or less what invented the modern concept of multiverse. deep sigh

where i'm loving these books is in conjunction to witch hat, because both series are fantasy i enjoy but with glaring flaws that balance each other out. i loved WHA for it's logical worldbuilding and interesting side characters (hello boy of URL) as well as its touching attention to real world issues, i hated WHA for being very meanies vs goodies with forced dialog that felt at best condescending and it's inability to address rougher issues because the manga is too nicies. Elric has the most bullshit fairy recess logic happenings, its offensive in the good old proud pulp way and most side characters could be replaced by cardboard cutouts - but it's not afraid to be weird and ugly, the main character feels as convoluted and complex as a real guy would, and the Hater's Edge (tm) and related strangely subtle dark humor cured me from the salt i was feeling at WHA and its fans inability to read between the lines.

i still have to finish them in the meantime if i fully explain the MC we're gonne be there for hours so here's a collection of silly images ive been collecting with my friends that remind us of him instead. cheers

Another day of waiting and another set of articles that I found

All of them are based on rumours and speculations but I guess facts were never important in this mess. At the begining we have continuation of the 'greedy Sergio' saga with people just taking whatever new amout of money appears and take it as the reality.

In this one we have more detailed quotes from the guy who dropped the large quote over Nico's "16 milion". All of them paint Sergio as the bad guy who put the poor team in a tough position because they either let him stay or have to pay him a lot and lose the sponsors (only Slim is named and it was fun for me to see, since earlier there werre rumours that he would support RBR without Sergio in it. As if.). My personal favourite quote from this: "I think he is not leaving, he refuses to resign." said as if it was something bad and not exactly what any drivers would do in that position. But no, Checo is just stubborn and we should think about how the team might suffer. Next we have tones of people being mad about Sergio giving gifts to his team (which he does every year) and the mechanics defending him online, saying that Helmut lied about the 'no bonus' beacuse everyone will get it and about Sergio winning the action of the year (and why people would be mad about this just baffles me, it's one action in one race and it really doesn't matter all that much).

It brings up Helmut lies about the staff not getting extra money and suggests that the tequila is a way to recompensate for that (lies, lies and more lies). But the haters stay hating.

It's (aside from the nasty headline) a very weird and short article but it just mentions Sergio winning 'amids the uncertanity' byt then we also have this (and you all will tell me media doesn't search for drama under the rocks).

It's basically to rewrite some comments people made about the win (and oh boy are they butthurt about it) and start fake drama becasue *gasp* 'bad Sergio, not oly won't leave on his own now he also stole a win from another driver!' (let's not mention that this award is meaningless and Sergio had nothing to do with being chosen, let's just late the haters hate).

Then we have the whole mess with FIA entry list and people treating it like the end of the world (not even caring that this list means nothing and can be changed at any time). Here and here.

The biggest surprise: beside suggesting that Checo doesn't deserve the seat tehy aren't awful when talking about him! Those are the first ones since Abu Dhabi!

Next we have the usual recycling of Horner's words with a new title because why not.

It's the same Abu Dhabi interview with the same quotes. The only good thing about making new articles from the same material is that they are getting shorter. But if the official site can milk one interview and make it into fours separate articles about the same I doubt this will end soon.

Then we have surprise Daniel appearance becasue they need fresh meat to keep the rumour mill going and why not disturb a guy enjoying his break with dumb questions.

This just some more rumours but this time about Ricciardo's return to F1 with Cadillac even though he says he 'considers his F1 career over' and doesn't want to go back. But media gotta media I guess. Again, Sergio is pointed as the one in the seat for 2025 but the buyout is montioned too (with highlighting of how much RBR wants to get rid of him).

And last but not least we have another belittling of Yuki this time delivered by no other than Juan Pablo Montoya. It's not strictly Checo news but I found it interesting.

So he said this: "While Liam Lawson is the most deserving, Yuki Tsunoda is the “automatic” Sergio Perez replacement option for Red Bull." and I'm just gonna say how and why? No he isn't, he will probably never be but I guess Helmut's obsession with white blonde blue-eyed man stays strong so in that regard sure, he might as well be 'more deserving'. The rest of the article actually supports Sergio and his stay in RBR (only montioning that "The right amount gets anybody out" so we are back in the money field) but this treatment of Yuki is just...

In all honesty, while I do miss Super Saiyan "first times" being emotional beats, a lot of fans forget Goten did it by accident and Trunks did it because he felt like it. Like what, was Goten that angry at Chi Chi during their sparing match? Was Trunks' jealousy of Goten going super saiyan equal to Vegeta's self-loathing during the time skip before the Androids Saga? At least with Caulifla there's an in-universe explanation that honestly makes sense for her character. She's not the type to explode with rage and Cabba's not the type to antagonize her. Rather, she's adept enough at fighting to recognize that all she has to do is emulate the feeling of the transformation to attain it and skilled enough to do it by force. She basically skips the awakening part to get right to the "do it at will" stage which is perfect buildup for her as a rival of sorts for Goku.

I think what really bothered the Caulifla haters (besides their misogyny) was that she said the quiet part out loud.

The dirty little secret about the Super Saiyan form was that it was never this ancient and mystic power of destiny, but a quirk of Saiyan biology that almost anyone could replicate if they knew what steps to follow. The reason Vegeta, Trunks, and Gohan all pulled it off in such a short span of time was that they had a living Super Saiyan as a reference, and they had the motivation to work at it.

By the time Cabba showed up, it was considered a big twist that he couldn't turn Super Saiyan. That's how cliche the form had become. So when Cabba learns it very quickly, it's mostly because we need him to get "caught up" in a hurry. And Caulifla and Kale were even stronger than he was before he learned the form, so it only makes sense that they would get the hang of it quickly as well.

But their transformations weren't treated like this big dramatic moment that turns the tide of the story. That's because Super Saiyan was no longer a major milestone, but also because we'd already seen it done several times by several other characters. The gimmick with Caulifla and Kale was that they were prodigies, diamonds in the rough who were suddenly tapping into their hidden potential. Could they improve enough, quickly enough, to become a threat in the tournament?

The thing fans have to accept is that Super Saiyan isn't the be-all and end-all of this franchise. That's why we have Super Saiyan 2, 3, 4, God, and Blue, along with Ultra Intinct, Beast, and all of the other advanced forms that have cropped up along the way. And the bad guys have always been able to keep pace, so calling each new level "unearned" is pointless.

We could say that Caulifla deconstructed the whole concept, except Vegeta already did it when he first transformed in 1991.

One page. One page is all it takes to undermine whatever legend or superstition is still attached to the Super Saiyan form. This is the third character we've seen use the form, but Krillin still hung onto the idea that a Super Saiyan had to at least be a good guy. But Vegeta informs him that he simply trained and trained until he hit a wall and his frustration pushed his body over the threshold. But Vegeta still clings to the idea of a "Saiyan Messiah", even though he just demonstrated that there's nothing special about this. You don't need to be a mythical hero, or a man of destiny, or even a nice person. You just need talent and effort, and maybe some luck.

The U6 Saiyans just did a speedrun of Vegeta's process, and that may irritate fans, except that the U6 Saiyans were far, far more powerful than Vegeta was in the Androids Saga. Cabba and Vegeta fought evenly in their base forms, and that was the same "Saiyan Beyond God" level seen in Resurrection F. They were already capable of the transformation; they just needed someone to tell them it was a thing.

I'm honestly super glad shows like Hazbin Hotel, South Park, and even Rick & Morty exist. I mean, they're important. They 'SCP' contain perhaps the most annoying fans and haters of fandoms. I'd much rather teenagers argue about those shows on the internet than have them trying to discuss like... Vinland Saga or Fear and Hunger.

Fear and Hunger's short period in the limelight proved that kids consuming things for adults are bad for more reasons than we think. We really misjudged how quickly they become uncritical Puritans about anything vaguely upsetting.

I can only imagine the claims those types would make about Vinland Saga. I'm mostly curious about what would get called problematic. Showing pacifism as imperfect? People shipping Canute and Thorfinn? Or maybe they'd call people who don't ship Canute and Thorfinn problematic! This is a terrible thought experiment.

Hi! This is a remade intro (sort of) post to my blog. I've already done something similar but after numerous additions and updates and rewrites of my stories, I realised that this needed an update as well.

Ok, so I finally decided the way I want to direct this blog/"page". I may edit this in the future in case I forgot to mention something on the day I post this. This is the basic summary:

The series that used to be called The Legends of No-man's Land no longer applies to all stories. Most of them are set in the same universe. However, I'd like for them not to be recognised as a series of some sorts. Hence this name will be used only for short stories that are basically scribles or provide additional information and trivia of the characters for the readers that like to know more about them. (And this also opens a space for possible debates and speculations or theories for the characters and the background of the setting/world). So TL; DR The Legends of No-man's Land as a series or a story won't ever be written (I changed a lot of ideas and background lore. And I also scrapped the og idea.)

I'll be posting (or at least traing to post) stuff about the world-building, the lore, the story and characters which are either based on mythological gods or are directly inspired by them. NOTHING IS RELIGIOUS AND THE TAKES ON THE CHARACTERS INSPIRED BY THE MYTHOLOGICAL FIGURES AND LEGENDS ARE MY PERSONAL INTERPRETATION. I just like myths and legends and I like to mash them altogether. Because I find it interesting to imagine what these characters would react like if they actually met. In other words, if you like to chat about this topic and you think something doesn't corelate much with the “original material“, please, message me. I'm open to discussion. Or send me an ask. Whatever you find more comfortable.

I might be also posting character analyses and maybe writing prompts (the writing prompts shall be free to use for anyone). I enjoy writing and creating new stuff. So if you'd like to chat about such, ask a question or two or think you could suggest an improvement, please, feel free to contact me.

The stories are going to feature MATURE ideas and themes. This means NSFW content which isn't at all directed at minors and people who are uncomfortable with gore, addiction, abuse etc.

The core is more or less of a psychological aspect. Let's say, it's somewhat of a deep dive to issues (social, psychological etc.). Please keep in mind, the story ONLY poses questions and ONLY ATTEMPTS to find a solution. Never a right answer.

Genre: dark fantasy (feat. Slavic, Chinese and other mythologies) and folk/psychological/cosmic horror. Also comedy, especially dark comedy. And action (quite a lot of action), maybe kind of adventurous one. Only slight romance because I usually can't bring myself to like romance genre as a whole (romance here happens because I got angry at some romance stories and tropes and told myself that even I, a certified hater, can do better. A.k.a. I'm writing the romance (sub)plot out of spite).

If anyone wants to chat or share an opinion, do so in a polite and civil way.

When it comes to my grammatical skills, let me know and I'll try to make myself as clear as possible. English isn't my native language.

The story is heavily (like, HEAVILY) influenced by several already existing novels, sagas, mangas and video games (for exemple Berserk, Bloodborne or Witcher and, of course, folk stories I know). I will not deny if you'll spot certain familiarities. However, the stories and characters aren't copies of them.

revolutionary girl utena – heavy breathing panting crying what a fucking roller coaster nanami the child you are anty the child you were utena the child you choose to be – just one of the true masterpieces of all anime. took a few episodes to realize that this show understood tone and comedy perfectly and wasn’t just a wonky children’s show and by golly! the nanami in season 3 gutted me unlike anything else

attack on titan: final season (for real this time) – decent conclusion to maybe my favorite anime of all time

school rumble – so goddamn funny and i cared about every goddamn character. it’s witchcraft!

trigun – good ole saturday morning cartoons

golden kamuy s3 – how does it keep getting better???!?!

fruits basket – i was a certified hater after s1, but slowly but surely i gave into the melodrama. akito and shigure were EVERYTHING

nana – the most disappointing ending of all time! for one of the greatest anime of all time. manga pls save me!!!

rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai – i’m embarrassed. i cried.

princess tutu – expressionistic, dedicated to storytelling, tremendously kind-hearted. you have to let it move you

blue lock – i’m officially a sports anime girlie

cyberpunk: edgerunners – this was just so slick!

chainsaw man – nothing needs to be said here

yamada-kun to lv999 no koi wo suru – adult romance that hasn’t been stripped of all conflict and maintains momentum nearly to the end

oshi no ko – my expectations were non-existent after ep 1 but then it crept up on me. i can’t even fully put my finger on what works so well? but it does! it knows when to take itself seriously and when to be nonsense.

demon slayer s3 – best season of demon slayer to date, i actually cared

durarara!!x2 shou – this is a confession. my inner edgy teen loves durarara. i appreciate huge casts of characters acting in opposition in atmospheric tokyo.

gintama – i finally finished gintama one of my favorites of all time. the end pulls all the threads together but it does so at the expense of the laughs so loses some points

chihayafuru – amazing background anime. just consistently fun and engaging.

perfect blue – i feel stupid and uncultured to not give this a 10

vinland saga – askeladd is so hot wow

buddy daddies – funny and sincere in degrees but a truly annoying little girl character

serial experiments lain – god you’ve gotta appreciate the wild swings creatives were taking in the 90s

trigun stampede – they yassified them!

mob psycho 100 s3 - meandered a bit but the characters are forever favorites

to your eternity – the first 3 arcs are extraordinary. march is one of the great child characters of all time. the end drags.

zom 100 – crazy good first episode that earns its premise and then a slow descent into mediocrity; cool colors though!

lycoris recoil – those cute girls shoulda been lesbians

classroom of the elite – is it edgy? yes. are the quotes frustratingly misused? oh yes. is it fun? ugh yeah actually

romantic killer – pretty cute and the edge of danger at the end really sells it

free – solid watch but it left my brain like sand in a sieve

Vegeta for bingo?

VEGETA, PRINCE OF ALL JOBBERS SAYIANS!

This poor man has taken nothing but temporary victories and little else since Zarbon, and that was back in the Namek saga. Arrogance is 10/10, his forehead is a damn 7head with that hairline, and he is Goku's number one hater. And I love it.

He needs to be allowed to win a couple fights on screen instead of just having 4-10 minutes of warming up the main bad guy for Goku to fight. But at the end of the day, he is still my Short king/prince. Love this character.

Also, Moo-ney, if you haven't. Just go watch the Goku Vs Vegeta fight (the Sayian Saga to be exact.) Because that shit is still one of the best battles in Dragonball.

Few thoughts about Rosen Garten Saga. Spoilers up to chapter 54 I suppose.

More lesbian dragonfuckers as the main character. A thought popped in my mind that if you described this series as a lesbian on a quest to impress a queen she's obssessed with it would be totally correct.

More series should be openly horny. It has that yonesequé that series like Maho Ako, Tsugumomo (critical though), What Happens Inside the Dungeon and such have; where the horny element fits the story perfectly and makes it much more, as oppossed to "their shameless fanservice" (<- she is biased).

Really liking most characters so far. Highlights are Lynn for obvious reasons, the Alibaba/Aladdin/Mjinn-chan dynamic because all three of them are great in their own ways, Orochi because I'm horny for her, Gawain because more men should crossdress and try to be cute and Attila because I can appreciate a fuckboy with charisma.

For a short time I thought the series was Rozen Maiden (<- she was very confused) and was wondering when they where going to introduce all the dolls.

I'm a bit of a hater for the term "trap" when I'm 100% positive the original is otokonoko. Selfdescribed for real life people is fine. Like I'm not a japanese/english translator but I'd just leave it as is and add a TL. Personal gripe, don't like the word and its associations.

Not a fan of the loli/incest with the dragon girls. I've literally no problem with either of those by themselves, it's the combo that makes me raise my eyebrows. Again, personal distaste because it reminds me of really really bad hentai.

I hated Dietrich at first, currently I consider him a minor annoyance. This type of character who openly throws themselves at women and seem to enjoy rejection (Sanji One Piece as another close-but-not-quite example) or in this case get horny about it reminds me way too much of real life situations where "subby" dudes slide into DMs to drool over you and no matter what you do they get off on it (<- she is ranting). No matter, main point is that at first I hated him but he's grown to be less disgusting and more comedic(?). Once more, personal problem with submissive men ignoring boundaries because "my queen, my queen <3" while the woman in question is retching. It's just a character. No big deal.

The 3 paragraphs before might make it seem like I have a problem with the series but it's quite the opposite. I don't mind, and often enjoy series with problematic content (<- she loves ntr) and this one does an excellent job at just throwing things at the reader and if you like it great if you don't, well, we need more series to be openly horny so we get more that might do it for us. Also because they are great. If we can't overlook a few flaws (<- subjective tastes) in a series then we can't enjoy anything.

As a final note: let's read Rosen Garten Saga together.

1. resident evil 8 was such a missed opportunity to do like. idk. anything. im not sure if i necessarily agree with people saying that it was nothing more than a tech demo for re4make, but i definitely see where they're coming from. the factory is a slog, moreau's swamp sucks. house beneviento is by far the scariest part of the entire game and the atmosphere is incredible, but it is CRIMINALLY short. castle d is gorgeous, but lady d herself falls flat as a nemesis / mr x type of enemy. i also just? dont like the writing in re8 at all. the characters are written strangely. i dont know how to put it into words. ethan feels weird. chris feels weird. mia feels weird and was tossed to the side and went from who she was in re7 to like an anime mom. this one is very petty but the fanbase for re8 is annoying as SHIT also. most re fans are irritating but re8 fans are something ELSE. the best thing about re8 is how it looks

2. this very quickly turned from unpopular opinions to Lilith's Hater Hour and im not sure how to word this either but a part of me hates how popular aw2 got. like a big part of me LOVES that, i feel like alan wake has always been underrated and ive loved it for years, its one of my favorite games ever, and im so happy to see it get recognition!! but predictably most of the fanbase has latched onto casey and zane/darling while completely ignoring saga as a character. its a bit annoying </3

3. i do not understand the hype around star wars, or why it got so popular. sorry to my mutuals for saying this on twitter like 3 times in the last 2 weeks and then again here FJFGHJH but i dont get it! i like the prequels, i like the sequels, i like rogue one, i like kotor (havent played either of them but i enjoy them nonetheless), i liked kenobi (pointing obi wan fan) i havent watched andor yet but i know i'll enjoy it. but most of star wars as a whole i just dont think its that. good? like. dont get me wrong when its done well its enjoyable!! but there are better sci fi serieses out there by far. star wars feels like lucasfilms throwing shit at the wall because it looks cool but has little sustenance. i will NOT start on my star trek vs star wars bullshit again because its INCREDIBLY biased LOL

4. i hate fallout 3. i hate traversing it. i hate playing it. i hate how it looks. i dont like the characters. i dont like the story. i dont like the writing. i like fallout 4 more than i like fallout 3, because 4 is at least enjoyable to play and lose myself in, even if the writing is arguably worse. when i first played fallout 3 i kept thinking to myself like. this is it? because for years all i heard was how good it was. and it just isnt LOL

5. i hate alien 3 also. i have not seen it and i do not plan on watching it because i KNOW it will make me angry. i am a BIG hater of shit thats just needlessly pessimistic / depressing / nihilistic simply for the sake of it, and from everything i've read of alien 3, thats exactly how it comes across to me. im sure if i WATCHED it i could more coherently explain why i dislike it, but im so attached to the dynamic that ripley, hicks and newt have that seeing it get thrown away immediately in the start of alien 3 would make me pass away badly

Multiple rallies, US Steel, and several disgraced politicians

10:46 a.m. EDT: "Michigan GOP using ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick in radio ad promoting Trump"

I truly did not know we were letting this man back into the state, but he keeps popping up this year like a bad penny. Detroit has had bad luck with mayors for most of my life, but this guy really takes the cake (Dave Bing is up there too, if not for the bankruptcy, then for his heinous mustache). As a child of the early 2000s that grew up with parents that watched cable news, I can say with complete certainty that if I ever hear the phrase "Sex and Texts" again, it'll be too soon.

1:04 p.m. EDT: "Feds move to take Rick Johnson's 40-acre property to satisfy corruption scandal debt"

Ah, it's been too long since Weed Batman has made the news. Michigan's GOP has always been an absolute clown show - if the above news story wasn't enough proof, I can tell you about Kristina Karamo and her fight against demons - and this guy is no exception. To get all the out-of-towners up to speed, he (the speaker of Michigan's House of Representatives) took a bunch of bribe money from dispensary owners before recreational weed was legal, then used it to (among other things) pay a sex worker who called him "Batman." He's currently appealing his sentence and refusing to pay the money he owes the state, hence the property seizure. Never change, Michigan.

2:23 p.m. EDT: "U.S. Steel CEO discusses Nippon merger in Detroit"

My father, a man who has spent a not insignificant amount of his life in and around US Steel plants, calls the company and its higher-ups "Useless Steel." I myself have made my way to the local mill, and besides being a great setting for pictures, I wasn't impressed. Biden is short sighted as usual; the company will fold without help in the form of either government or foreign money. Unfortunately, many politicians don't see the value in shining up the Rust Belt.

3:04 p.m. EDT: "Vance in Michigan: Trump needs more Secret Service protection from assassination attempts"

I mean, this is only true if you believe the Secret Service is invested in keeping him alive. I'm joking, but honestly, things are going to get worse before they get better re: the assassination attempts. I mean, two separate women tried to kill Gerald Ford, a man it's impossible to have any strong feelings about, so I'm predicting a few more attempts before November rolls around.

3:57 p.m. EDT: "Eastern Market cancels next tailgate after shooting, will work to create 'weapon free zone'"

Controversial opinion, but I think all of Eastern Market should be a weapon free zone. As I write this, I know the conclusion to this whole saga, but I'll save it for tomorrow.

9:37 p.m. EDT: "Trump in Flint: China will 'dominate' EV race, Michigan an auto industry 'afterthought'"

Wow, this is the worst thing to happen to Flint since Rick Snyder decided they didn't need clean drinking water! Again, joking here, but I just don't get this coverage. The rally was an unintelligible mess of unresearched garbage that (for some reason) prominently featured Sarah Huckabee Sanders. He didn't say this. He said a jumble of words that could amount to this if you squint really hard and pretend you're talking to a four year-old.

On a personal note:

I find myself both excited to spend time with my friends and eternally vexed by their need to bring their significant others with them everywhere. I understand the closeness one wants to feel with their partner, and in all but a few cases, I find my friends' partners delightful; I'm going to be a hater about it though. Oh well, maybe I'm just a bitter old spinster whose idea of a good night is eating soft pretzels and drinking vodka spritzes on a patio with her mom (which is coincidentally what I did tonight).
