Heyo! This was completely spontaneous, but I watched the new Haikyuu movie and needed- NEEDED Lee!Kenma in my life (I'm writing this the night of watching the movie cause my GOD my heart is full and happy over these boys) so here we are! :D I hope you like it!

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE HAIKYUU DUMPSTER BATTLE MOVIE!!! Go watch it if you can and haven't seen it yet; it's one of my favorite watches of the year!

Summary: Finally, Kenma says something Kuroo wanted to hear since the beginning of their friendship. He wants to hear it again, but the setter is ever so stubborn. Time for some good old fashion persuasion.

“Say it!”

“No, I’ve said it once already.” Kenma grunted, cheeks heating up as he looked away. “Besides, if I do, you'll start crying again.”

“Pfft- I was not crying!” Kuroo straightened up, his own face warming at the accusation. “I just had sweat in my eyes! I- Oi, don’t change the subject!”

“I wasn’t?” Kemna kept walking, pulling out his phone as he and Kuroo walked back to the others. It had been a few hours since their battle with Karasuno. Despite their loss, Kemna didn’t feel all that bad about it.

Maybe that’s what Kuroo was pestering him about? Was he worried? “I’m not gonna say it again.”

“Come on, I wanna hear it!” Kuroo caught up with him easily, walking backwards as he faced the smaller boy head on. “Do you even realize how euphoric it felt? God, it was like water in the desert, or angels singing when they come to get you when you die!”

“You didn’t die though.”

“You get what I mean!” Kuroo stopped them at some point- gently guiding them away from the front doors to their temp house and towards the open clearing nearby. “You’ve never said you had fun before. This is a milestone!”

“I don’t really think it’s that big of a deal.” Kenma scooted along until he was leaning against the nearest tree, never taking his eyes off his phone. “It was a good game. I didn’t want it to end.”

“Cause you were…” Kuroo began, raising his eyebrows and jazz handing. Kenma flattened his mouth stubbornly, making the older boy slump with a low sigh.

“So that’s how it is, huh? Refusing to give in to your old pal Kuroo?” He walked in a small circle, hands on his hips and chin tipped to the sky with a long drawn out exhale. Kenma immediately thought of the old men in his neighborhood. “You're forcing my hand, Ken.”

“What does that even-” Kenma looked up only to find air. Kuroo could move scarily fast when he wanted to. “Tetsuro?” He called out, brows furrowed. Maybe he went inside-

Hands were on his sides from behind, simultaneously scaring the shit out of him and tickling him. “AHHHH!” Kenma threw his phone in shock, his screams of terror quickly dissolving into surprise giggles. “Noohoohohohoho! Tehehehehhtsuhuuhuhhuuh!”

“Gotcha! Gotcha gotcha gotcha!” Kuroo laughed gleefully from behind, his voice against the back of Kenma’s neck as his fingers dug playfully into the softest parts of his waist. “Come on, I want you to say it. I want you to say you had fun today!”

“I ahehahhahahahreahahahhady dihihihiid!” Kenma argued back, twisting and turning within Kuroo’s grasp. He grabbed at the older boy’s hands viciously, but his grip was weak and loose- weakened by the sudden onslaught of tickling. “Aheahhahahaha, cuhuhuhut it oohohohohut! Yoohohohou’re nohohohohot gohohohonna geheheht me to shahahay it agahahhain!”

“Oh yes I will! Hehehehe.” Kuroo snickered to himself as he stepped closer, locking Kenma into a cage of arms. With fast movements, he managed to drag the smaller teen up and into a half-carry; one arm locked around his waist to support him. The hand there carried on squeezing his side and hip while his other hand wormed itself into Kenma’s stomach. “Say it! Say it, Kenma! Say it or I won’t stop tickling you!”

“Gheahahhahahahaha!” Letting out a squeal, the brains of Nekoma thrashed in Kuroo’s grip, kicking his feet like a toddler having a tantrum. “Tehehehhehetsu! Gehahahaha, gehhehehet ohohohoohff yohohohou jeheheheherk! Aheahahahaha I’ll bihihihihite yohohohou!”

“Oo, so scary! Kitty’s got fangs~” Kuroo teased, the threat giving him a new idea for torture. “Unfortunately for you, I got bigger ones.”

“Nohohoho, nohoho dod-OOHOOHOHOHOHON’T!” Kenma all but shrieked when he felt gentle nibbles at the back of his neck, scrunching up as best he could with little success. Between those and Kuroo’s stubborn fingers playing Chopsticks against his ribcage, his laugh was quickly reaching silent levels. He knew one of them was gonna have to give in eventually- if he could hold out just a little longer…

Kuroo playfully bit at his ear. Kemna gave in almost immediately.

“FIHIHIHINE FIHIHIHINE I HAHAHAHD FUUHUHUN! I HAHAHAHD FUHUUHN NOW STAHHAHAHAHP!” The setter cried out, cheeks hot and eyes teary. Kuroo let out a whoop, his hands easing up on the tickles as he slowly lowered Kenma to his feet.

Feet turned to knees, which turned to Kenma’s butt hitting the ground as he leaned back into Kuroo’s legs, gasping for air. “Ehehehehe..ehhehehehehehehe…yohohohou jeehehehherk…”

Kuroo cackled, delighted as he sat down behind the other. A few adjustments later, Kenma was leaning back into Kuroo’s chest, his knees on each side and arms around his shoulders like a weighted blanket. “Sure, but that doesn’t change the fact you had fun today.”

The setter rolled his eyes, unable to fight off a smile. “I did. I really did have a lot of fun today. I said this already but…thanks for getting me into volleyball Tetsu. And thanks for always making me feel wanted and like I belong. I don’t think I would have stayed if it weren’t for you.”

He felt the other boy stiffen, a shaky breath heard next. “Hold on- you can’t just say things like that to me! Out of the blue too- that’s not fair!” A face was pressed into his shoulder, the arms squeezing tighter around him in a comforting embrace. Kenma reached back to pat his head, giving it a scratch. Such a softie.

“That’s what you get for tickling me. Take that.” He replied, feeling Kuroo shake with mirth against him. Soon he was giggling too, the sound soft in the hush of the night.

ok so some of the history lesson portion of this may be a little off, it's been a hot minute since i've done much research into this lol. but final haikyuu quest first appeared as a spread in one of the bonus pages in the manga! throughout the manga's run were occasionally drawings of the characters in little fake movie posters, one of them being an action/fantasy movie called final haikyuu quest:

this first poster and the original character designers are drawn by furudate! from there, it went on to become a mini bonus game in the haikyuu 3DS game, which is kind of crazy if you think about it too hard.

there's a playthrough uploaded on youtube here, but it's obv in japanese and i don't think there's been a translation of the game. there's a translation of part of it here on tumblr, but i don't think it's complete. poster from the 3DS game:

from there, it went on to be a CD drama (videos 8-10 on this youtube playlist, with subs), which is super neat. it's also one of the haikyuu light novels, but i have yet to find a full english translation of that.

i haven't read the novel or watched the videos with the CD drama audio myself, so i'm not sure how much it differs from the 3DS game. i assume they're pretty similar though.

so the premise at its most simple is that hinata and his party of adventurers are off to defeat the demon king oikawa and his henchmen! those are the basics.

the "canon" characters in hinata's party are hinata, kenma, aone, iwaizumi, and kageyama. on the opposing side we've got oikawa (the demon king), kuroo, and kiyoko. kiyoko has servants in the form of tanaka and nishionoya (they don't care for oikawa, they're just there for kiyoko). there's also michimiya, who is in the "fair princess kidnapped by oikawa" role that hinata & co. are trying to save. the full character profiles can be found here (everyone in game) and here (heroes only)!

now this whole premise is like. a little silly. the whole deal is a little silly. this is a volleyball manga.

with THAT being said, though, sometimes the most fun to be had is when you take the silly thing and make it devastating. and it's so easy to do that with FHQ. so let's talk abt iwaoi now <3

so in the story, oikawa is the demon king. because the premise is so simplistic and boiled down to good v. bad due to, like, this not being a real piece of media, oikawa is objectively on the "bad side." iwaizumi, on the other hand, is a knight, presumably human, and "oikawa's (former) friend."

iwaizumi being oikawa's former friend is literally his speciality and i think about that all the time btw. for context, kageyama's specialty is "prodigy" and hinata's is "strongest decoy." and fucking iwaizumi is out here like yea hey guys i used to be on the bad side but im mad at oikawa so now i'm with y'all. also my specialty in this fantasy universe is that i used to be oikawa's friend :)

like. what the hell. as you may imagine, the iwaoi angst potential here is ENORMOUS. iwaizumi who has betrayed oikawa and joined the heroes' side to take him down, iwaizumi whose greatest strength comes in knowing oikawa in and out, because the villains you love are both the hardest and the easiest to destroy. iwaizumi who loves oikawa, and who cannot save him.

(**side note, there's a lot of kuroken angst potential involved in this au as well, but let's focus on iwaoi for this post and save kuroken for another day)

so, as i said, the game's interpretation of all this is pretty simplistic and pretty silly. but personally i love thinking too hard and finding depth in things that are so not that deep. and it seems like most fhq fans also employ this as a favorite hobby because holy shit the angst people put in this au is INSANE.

the way i've interpreted it myself has been that iwaoi were besties/lovers/unclear situationship until oikawa kind of "fell into the dark side," because this is an au of every fantasy trope possible, and his reign over aoba became corrupted and "evil." iwaizumi betrays him to join hinata and take him down--save the world, at the cost of the demon he loved so much. but that demon, who oikawa was, is gone already, isn't he?

one of my favorite comics about them is here by @/ichigomaniac, where oikawa falls to the dark side and iwaizumi kills him to save the kingdom he loves. another FAVORITE similar one is here by @/hawberries! the premise of a lot of fics/art in this au run along these lines <3333

another super fun interpretation is a 5 part comic by @/duskisnigh, where oikawa and iwaizumi are running a kind of underground rebellion/safehouse in a world demons are oppressed by the human race. but as oikawa sees more and more evil on the behalf of humanity, he gets more and more unhinged until iwaizumi feels that he no longer knows him--and runs away with kageyama, with the intention of taking oikawa down.

personally i think the BEST aus are where iwaizumi--so loyal, so in love--is forced to leave because he can't stand to watch oikawa fall to more darkness, while oikawa himself is so devoted to iwaizumi that it's his love for iwaizumi that is corrupting him.....

in the fic i wrote, it's a story about forbidden love and how oikawa just wants to be allowed to love iwaizumi and he'll fight a war in order to do it. but iwaizumi can't watch oikawa fight this war anymore, because he's getting more and more dark as the war rages on. so he leaves, and was any of this ever worth it?

Suna Rintarou ִֶָ☾. Fluffy Headcanon‧₊˚ ☁️

When it’s very late at night, you’ll feel someone snatch you from the back towards the other side of the bed, and yes, it is Suna. He always does that, ALWAYS. You are his personal side pillow, while snuggling to you and burying his face on your neck he would mumble some sweet affirmations about how precious you are to your ears. Maybe about how cute you are, or how you made his exhausting day better and he would love to be with you all day tomorrow.

Waking up besides him feels unreal, his fluffy hair softly rests on his peacefully sleeping face, and damn, this man is just so DECENT. You would always wonder how the hell on earth this dude is so good-looking, like, GORGEOUS, while you are on your little observation he would peek from his sleep and grab you in for a peck on your lips. 

Suna would probably call you by a cute pet name, for example, pumpkin, darling, honey. He loves to spend quality time with you, but he hates to go outside because he is a little lazy to travel, so in your shared bedroom, there’ll be a mini projector to watch movies together. Suna will make sure that your favorite snack is well-stocked and ready for you. He would offer his hoodies for you to choose to wear and snug in with him on the bed.

Grabbing you by your hand and kissing it along while watching the movie, cuddling with your hand near by his face, he loves the scent from you, not your perfume, or soap, but YOU. He would ask you for a kiss but then he’ll be the one to tease you by moving away from you, seeing you unsatisfied is super adorable, but he’ll make it up to you anyways after a few teases.

When you guys are a new couple, he got teased by the Miyas a lot on how he is so playful and soft towards you, but he doesn’t care though, he is so proud of the fact that you are the only one who he will do this to, and sometimes he even changes his voice while scolding the Miya and then turn back to talk cutely with you. How cute was that.

Suna would bring you to the practice, seeing you on the bleachers makes him more motivated to play, because he wanted you to see his cool side as well, since normally  he would be a fluffy puppy when he’s with you. And plus, he is SUPER CLINGY, he also gets jealous easily if you talk with his teammates and seem to enjoy it, because he wants to be the one who makes you laugh the most, that's all.

Pick My Next Anime

I'm about half way through season 4 of Haikyuu so I feel good about rolling out the next poll!

Ace Attorney - I believe I was around the start of season 2 when I left off in Recipe for a Turnabout. Idk last thing I remember was hearing J Michael Tatum's aph France voice in a context outside of Hetalia and taking psychic damage. I'm prepared now. Frankly, I'm impressed I made it through Turnabout Big Top animated.

Tribe Nine - The propaganda here is Corpse Husband. I have nothing further to give you. Anyone who watched this watched it for Corpse Husband.

Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation - Dub it dub it dub it dub it get Kellen Goff in that booth. I have nothing against subs other than I like doing other things while watching shows so I have a dub preference when it's available. I will make an exception for this wonderful romance anime movie. But pls Crunchyroll let them dub it 🙏 I will rewatch it dubbed if I have to watch it subbed first but PLEASE 🙏

Sk8 the Infinity - Sk8 is 0 for 4 in these polls, second place every time. I say this next part unbiased toward the poll results: I literally chose everything in this one to give y'all a fighting chance. However, I can't decide if it's funnier if you keep getting second or if you deserve a win. Either way here: 🥈

Soul Eater Not! - I adore Soul Eater, but I've never watched Soul Eater Not! Do with that what you will.

Mob Psycho 100 - I, like, just learned what this anime is about. That English title is misleading af. Other than the basic premise, the only thing I know about this series is that your sexyman lost so Sans Undertale could kill the Queen. Respect.

Haikyuu!! Battle of the Garbage Dump is simultaneously everything i asked for and sth that leaves me wanting more. first off, the entire movie is like an hour thirty minutes long session that ends with a mediocre orgasm w/ a promise of more. like, fr bruh... there were multiple tense scenes where the tension built and built and built and- it cuts to something else... how Shoyo and Kenma met, Kenma and Kuroo's childhood, Tsukki & Kuroo's block 'training'. they kept me at the edge of my seat, breathe stuttering in my chest, stomach coiling and coiling and... nothing... and this repeated like 5-6 times. did i like it? ofc i did; it's Haikyuu!! i love everything Haikyuu!! was it best? not really, no... was it great? also a no. was it good? yeah it was... it was fine; it was nostalgic. it was catching up w/ an old friend i haven't met in a while. ofc a lot of details were left out and they dedicated too many minutes to nostalgia and flashbacks... was it a good choice? idk, i liked it but idk... there wasn't a lot of substance to it, at least i don't think so. the animation's fckn great tho! and the music rocks. and their portrayal of friendship, of kinship, of sportsmanship was fan-fucking-tastic. also, to the shippers... there's something for everyone of y'all ship out there lol u ship Shoyo x Kenma? dw, it's literally the opening scene; u ship Yaku x Lev? it's in the bg; u ship KuroKen?, they're literally childhood sweetheart; u ship KageHina? dw, our blueberry has so much faith in his mandarin sunshine; u ship TsukiYama? they're the power couple that will take their enemy down; u ship KuroTsuki?, they're the cutest enemies-AND-lovers ever; KuroDai?, we got u; hell, even Yaku x Yuu! anyway, the movie was pretty fun to watch. i rec that u reread in preparation for its viewing tho! ciao~

You do not have to request yandere, I love writing other stuff too.

I will NOT write NSFW, incest, child x adult(unless platonic), oc x character, character x character, abuse(can be mentioned), or sexual assault(at the most, it'll be a very BREIF mention). Please don't cross my boundaries.

I do not like writing a 'willing' reader x yandere character. It feels gross and like I'm romanticizing the toxicity more than I'm comfortable with. If you request this, I will either delete it, or make it stockholm/give it a not happy ending.

You can request up to 5 people in a fic/headcanon. If it gets too many, I start to struggle and then no one will be happy. if you request more than 5, someone's getting cut.(More than 2 will most likely be made into headcanons as they're quicker.)

If not stated outright, I will decide whether it's in headcanons or fic format. Please be specific if you want it a certain way.

I usually won't write a mutant/non-human reader because of personal preference, but if you request like "drider reader who's lived hundreds of years and breathes fire . . . etc", I'm going to delete it. In my mind, that's probably just an OC, and I don't want to write it. Also I just hate writing non-human readers so if you want it to be a non-human reader, it's going to take me a while to get to it. And even then, I'll probably just write it and skip the non-human part.

a little mini life update: i went to go see the haikyuu movie and omg!!!! OMG!! that is all i shall say in case you and others here haven't seen it yet BUT IF Y'ALL KNOW Y'ALL KNOW!!!!!!

wait last thing about the movie, seeing some of my favorite panels animated literally had me SOBBING in that movie theater and i'm so glad i told my friend who i went with that if i see these 3 panels animated i am going to bawl on the spot

AND THEN LOOSELY RELATED TO MOVIE: my friend and i were the ONLY people in the theater at the time IT WAS SO COOL like a whole private theater and we had like our rich moment (aka it was like we bought out the entire theater for the 2 of us it was so so cool HAHA)

okay now really quickly for the story time:

was at my friend's apartment because we were having a studio ghibli marathon night (i could not survive... after move #4 i tapped out i could not do it anymore)

anyways after we were like yeah let's stop watching we went to my other friend's apt to just hang out and then it got like pretty late and they're all like huge dnd fans and so they have dice out and around but i'm jumping ahead, second friend also has playing cards in his apt and he was like doing card tricks (the throwing kind) and then when it hit like late 11pm he was like hm you should go to bed but i was like ehhhh i don't wanna so we put it up to chance, he pulled out quite a bit of cards and fanned them out and was like if it's clubs or spades you have to go home and hearts and diamonds are good and i pulled hearts (wow look at the genshin in me) so yay i didn't have to go home

THEN it hit much later (after much of throwing cards and having fun, also dw no cards or walls were harmed!) he had exactly 3 cards in his hand and i had no idea which, and it was again clubs and spades go home and he looked at it and went like :000000 and i thought it was because i was guaranteed going home and so i was like eh whatever if i have to go home i have to go home, but it turns out it was 1 club, 1 ♤, and 1 heart (i have autocorrect for the spAde, sorry guys) and !!! i pulled the heart AGAIN!! woo luck!! why can't i have this luck when it comes to genshin or hsr (or crk) </3

AND THEN he did it again to like really test my luck

and guess what? hearts again i was on a ROLL

and he was talking about like the probabilities and whatnot and i was like bro you're talking to a genshin player rn

and for simplicity's sake i only "named" 2 friends but we were a group of like 5? so another friend was like you should pull on genshin to really test your luck

my phone was on 10% (also i had to redownload genshin because i took it off my phone for mental wellbeing purposes) and so i was like what if it dies lol

anyways skip forward i pull

but now like any good anime i bring up some backstory (but mine isn't really backstory)

i pulled like the week before because i got peer (bf?) pressured by my bf to pull and like i was at ~45 pity, pulled, got "early" ended up being diluc BUT fortunately that was from the like wish part and not the primos part so i still had 90 wishes worth of primos!! pulled obviously guaranteed xianyun

I feel better! Both physically and mentally; my sickness has passed and mentally I feel good! The break did its magic <3

I SAW THE NEW HAIKYUU MOVIE!!! AHHH! Y'all- I saw it yesterday; had to drive an hour out to the next town to see it (small town problems lols) but it was SO worth the trip! I loved every second of it and if you have the opportunity to watch it, I highly recommend it! It was AMAZING!

I successfully planned out the entirety of June fic wise 😎 I had a sudden boost of writing motivation and knocked it out of the park! Also happy Pride Month everyone <3

LAST SONG 🔹 I was gonna say Lonely by R.M. but I forgot I watched a bit of the Legally Blonde musical after that so I think it's actually Whipped Into Shape from Legally Blonde the musical. Those two are wildly different songs but Callahan's verse in whipped into shape is so damn good, i listen to just that section all the time. Lonely on the other hand, I don't listen to all that often because I generally prefer Change prt 2 but it's a really great song on and if I hear it once, it ends up being on repeat for the rest of the day.

LAST MOVIE 🔹 Like telomeke, the last movie that I watched (or atleast remember watching) is a tamil film. It's Mersal. Though I could be getting the order of events wrong and it's actually KGF prt 2 which is a Kannada film. I've lately been in a show vibe so I haven't been watching film unless it's with other people so either way the last one was either Mersal or KGF 2. I lowkey forgot Vijay had a triple role in Mersal, I thought it was only a double role. Plot's watchable enough but the songs are where it's at. This movie's soundtrack was a hit when it came out and I still have the entire soundtrack on my spotify. KGF 2 is only good if you turn your brain off and don't take it too seriously. The background music is spectacular though. And the outfits. I spend the entire almost 3 hour runtime rating Rocky's looks. (man's not afraid to wear a full pink suit ok, definition of nontoxic masculinity /jk)

CURRENTLY READING 🔹 Well, I just finished Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies by Seth Holmes and ofc y'all know i'm on my Haikyuu!! re-read of which I am on volume 8 if notes are to be believed. However, I am miserably failing because the original idea was to read it in chronological order and NOT skip ahead but I have no self-control and keep re-reading bits. Like just the other day, I read the ball-boy arc which led to me reading the Spring Tournament arc and now we're on the last bit of the Kamomedai match and- It's fine though. It's going.

Hello my dear anon! Thanks for the tag even anonymously! Now I have to pick 8 shows? I know a lot of people struggled because there's just so many but I move on from shows pretty quickly. I'm not sure if any BL is actually going to end up on this list because if it's shows to get to know me...well there's very few shows that I hold near and dear to my heart like that and can help explain the person I am.

Psych - This has been my favorite show for forever. This show was there for me when I was losing friends left and right and I was left alone. Watching the friendships in this show (not just Shawn and Gus though obviously they're the best) really helped me through some dark times. Some bits of this show have not aged well at all, but this show grows and progresses and every time a new movie gets announced, I make sure I am able to watch that movie as soon as it's available.

Haikyuu!! - This will most likely not be the only anime on this list because though I don't really post about anime, these shows are and always will be a large part of my life. I love this show so much because of the friendships and relationships built not just within the team but also with the rival teams. Plus, I actually like sports but not real sports. I like fictional competition where the result has already been decided. Plus best sunshine x tsundere ever. They're both volleyball idiots and I love them both so much.

One Piece - This show is the reason for one of my friendships with one of my best friends in the entire world. They sat me down in college and made me watch and here I am, 1000+ episodes later and still in love with it. I like there is no romance. I love the crew. I love the story. I love the humor. I do not love that the women characters look like they keep all of their internal organs in their boobs though.

Merlin - There seems to be a theme for these shows. I love the friendships and the story and the interpretation of the King Arthur legend. Also Morgana's journey from genuinely good person to brainwashed villain is so incredibly good. I love a good villain and she was the best.

Vincenzo - Sometimes I just need to watch our main character constantly winning. It's very satisfying. It's very violent but the kind of violence that I enjoy. The side characters really make the show though. I also hold the villain in this show as my gold standard for villains. If they aren't as unhinged as him, I don't want them.

Galavant - Someone took my sense of humor and my love of musicals and medieval literature and put it into a show. Also I will watch anything and everything with Timothy Omundson.

Yuri on Ice - I watched this show on repeat 3 times on the worst day of my life. If it wasn't for this show, I truly don't know what would have happened. I love all of the characters (Phichit is the best fight me).

Ouran High School Host Club - This was the first show I ever saw that had a character that didn't care what gender they are perceived as and it was...enlightening. It was the first time I even thought about gender. Plus it's just damn hilarious.
