i just realized that akechi’s “fake reality” probably would’ve had him and reader be able to just have a peaceful relationship where he didn’t have to worry about whether or not she’d be in trouble because of him 😭. where he *could* do dumb matching halloween costumes. even if he’s kind of,, well,, yk in 3rd sem, in his perfect reality, he can be his own true self *with* his princess idk!! UR THOUGHTS??

yes yes!!! goro's perfect reality would be a reality where you are safe and he does not have to hide anymore :((( i genuinely think that if it weren't for the circumstances of the current reality, he would be alot more open to the public about your relationship.

i headcanon goro to be very proud of his s/o, like if you specialize in something he would be boasting about it. oh you are great at cooking and made him lunch? he's telling the whole office that he has a lovingly-prepared homemade lunch! oh you are an artist? he'd be showing yusuke your work and slightly goading him that you're better than him!

he is very proud of you and loves you very much!!

so yes! in his perfect reality he would gladly match outfits and do dumb halloween costumes! he HAS some limits though, he still has his pride. but maybe you have a way around that? (give him a kiss on the tip of his nose and do puppy eyes!!! he turns to mush and goes soft with that.)

speaking of phones, NGL ANON I ALSO THINK HE DOES THAT!!!! i feel like goro, if it weren't for his occupation and... other occupation, he would be a very clingy and concerned boyfriend. but since he can't exactly be there with you at all times, he opts for texting you.

Hello, what do you think about the parallel between

Hikaru Kamiki—Airi Himekawa to Aqua—Akane

And

Hikaru Kamiki—Ai Hoshino to Aqua—Kana.

If Aqua as Kamiki so they said Akane is Airi because they both a famous actress and Kana is Ai because she is famous idol.

Will the story repeat itself? will they have the same story? but i didn't think so. The patterns are similar but the stories are different.

But seeing from the storyline, Akane—Aqua is similar to Kamiki—Ai. Akane and Kamiki come from the same theater and they are both very talented actors and actresses who have star eyes. And Ai—Aqua came to Lalalai when there was a project workshop.

I also found Akane's lines and the lyrics of the same Idol song. Where Akane says "Lies turn into truth" and is also present in the lyrics themselves, broadly speaking the core meaning of the song and Ai's own story match very well. Where Ai also wants the lie to become the truth. So far I've only seen "lies become truth" in Akane and Aqua's relationship. This can also be seen clearly from the development of the story between Akane and Aqua.

Indeed, the Kana-Aqua relationship looks similar but it looks more like Goro-Ai. Aqua and Kana have the power to motivate each other. Kana who hides her potential as an idol and actress is motivated because of Aqua's support. Meanwhile, Aqua, who no longer had any interest in becoming an actor, was motivated when he saw Kana and Himekawa Taiki's acting. The funny thing is that Aqua entered the world of actors (again) thanks to Kana's request. and Kana entered the Idol world thanks to Aqua's request. Their pattern never looks to romance (only on Kana's side and no reciprocity from Aqua).

Meanwhile, Akane and Aqua seem to have reciprocity and their relationship is developing towards romance. I'm neutral and care about the storyline. This is from my perspective as a manga reader and anime viewer ONK. I've read the manga many times and the thing I caught was like this.

And also some people believe that Aqua—Akane—Kana similar to Tokyo Blade relationship between them. And will be like that in the story.

How about you? Your opinion always blows my mind. You are a neutral person if it goes to the storyline even though you are an Akane stan. It's rare to find an open-minded ONK fan.

Hi there anon, thank you for the thoughtful message! To be honest with you, I'm holding off from drawing any parallels between Ai-Kamiki and Aqua-Anyone because we just don't know enough about their dynamic yet. I feel like once we finally see this Ai in motion, we'll all be able to have a clearer outlook about her relationship with Kamiki.

For now, I get the feeling that when she met Kamiki, Ai found that "somebody to practice [loving] with".

It's hard to tell whether Kamiki was looking for the same thing because we don't know enough about his background just yet, but it's safe to assume that he was every bit as broken as Ai was—likely even more so, if his murderous streak is anything to go by.

But yeah, all in all, I'm kind of stuck here waiting for more information. I don't really like trying to predict Aka because he can sometimes do things on a whim, like the fact that Ai wasn't supposed to die at all when ONK started serialization lol

I'm actually kind of shocked to learn that people are already trying to draw parallels between Kamiki-Airi and Aqua-Akane though, because we haven't even gotten a single flashback involving them. The only thing we know is that there was a very inappropriate age-gap between them, which seems to imply Airi was a very messed up individual who took advantage of a child. I fail to see how in the world people can relate that to Aqua and Akane.

As for Tokyo Blade, I do think it's more complicated than some make it seem. Akane plays Sayahime, who was supposed to be Touki's love interest until the mangaka caved in and started pandering to fans, but Akane doesn't fit that role in the actual story. She was never presented as the main heroine, so Tsurugi never stole her place. If anything, Akane's role in the story for the longest time was to be Aqua's ally, so she is the one playing Tsurugi's role.

Yet, Kana doesn't quite fit Sayahime's circumstances either, because her screen time didn't lessen and most people do seem to ship Aqua and Kana over Aqua and Akane.

So I don't really think either girl is a 1:1 fit for either role. I do, however, think Aka's biggest meta commentary was this panel right here:

This is the way people saw Akane up to that point, and Aka knew it so he lampshaded it. He even has Akane acknowledging that if she allows things to carry on that way, she won't stand a chance:

It's also interesting to note that from this arc onwards, Akane truly steps up to be the one standing by Aqua's side. So once again, it's a matter of seeing where Aka is going with it, though I completely agree with you that Aqua and Akane are the ones who have gotten all the big development milestones.

Even when you isolate their moments and simply put them side by side, the magnitude and intimacy jumps out to the eye.

I feel that we can objectively say that there is just no comparison. Aqua and Akane are out there saving each other's lives, getting to know each other, guarding each other's secrets, hugging, kissing, dating, breaking up yet still fighting to keep the other safe, etc. Meanwhile Aqua and Kana seem perpetually stuck, the distance between them hasn't lessened. Their relationship hasn't evolved.

Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that they won't end up together either way, because this is a fictional story after all and the author can do whatever he wants. But it does beg the question of why in the world has Aka kept his supposed endgame so static while Aqua and Akane got all the mutual development lol

I think it's because I've won and lost love triangles many times, so I've learnt to recognize the signs that point towards both sides of the equation 😂 There's also the fact that I'm in this for Akane, so whether or not she ends up with Aqua is besides the point as long as Aka does justice to her character and to their dynamic.

I forgot to mention that Tokyo Blade-wise, I've always felt like this scene may be foreshadowing! If anyone is mortally wounded, I am fully expecting Aqua to get his miracle (be it through his own medical merits, through the Crow Girl or by any other means).

Joker { Akira Kurusu }

✧ Akira is not sure how to initiate the first time that they cuddle but soon he simply finds himself asking, as he feels comfortable enough to be honest with them.

✧ Mainly he just enjoys being close to them & pulling them into his chest. Most of the time he likes to listen to them talk whilst they are in an embrace together, as he finds it easy to unwind whenever they are around.

Skull { Ryuji Sakamoto }

✧ Ryuji is more of a short & sweet kind of person but he does indulge in a few cuddles. Though the first time he is rather unsure, he likes to wrap an arm around them & pull them into his side.

✧ Most of the time it is more of a casual thing as he becomes accustomed to the idea. Whilst playing video games in his room is common & although a lot of the time he appears to be the type to have secure cuddles, he is more commonly gentle.

Panther { Ann Takamaki }

✧ She is very passionate when in private. Lots of her cuddles are very tight & involve limbs being intertwined. Often does she attack them with kisses & does not stop until they are embarrassed.

✧ Ensuring that they smile is a key part of her day & Ann learns what makes them comfortable whilst cuddling. Even if it is as something as simple as running her hands through their hair, she becomes attentive to their needs as long as they do so in return.

Fox { Yusuke Kitagawa }

✧ As someone who has experienced very little affection in his life, Yusuke revels in the moments where he can cuddle his significant other. Most of the time he is down apart from when painting, as inspiration is ever fleeting.

✧ He prefers to spoon but would absolutely not mind any other way. Unlike the others, he takes the cuddling as a separate moment from activities & takes some time to appreciate their features.

Queen { Makoto Niijima }

✧ Turns into a disaster the first time they ask to cuddle & still is every time. She does not like to cuddle unless it is in her room, as she is not sure how much her sister or the rest of her fellow pupils would approve. Though she does not care what they think, their reputations are both important to uphold.

✧ Makoto is very quiet during these sorts of things & prefers to be lying down with them instead of sitting up, as she feels it is more intimate.

Oracle { Futaba Sakura }

✧ Futaba turns incredibly red the first time they ask. It is a slow process to get her used to more forms of affection. Though she tries her best to be brave, she will sometimes pull away because she finds herself overwhelmed with emotion.

✧ She likes to be held by them, as it makes her feel as though she is safe. Encouraging her whilst she games only leads to her losing from embarrassment, which cues her reprimanding them.

Noir { Haru Okumura }

✧ Haru has little hesitation in showing that she loves them in private but she also finds herself with a lot of boundaries at first. Sugimura violated a lot of her personal boundaries & she has to first reestablish them.

✧ Afterwards though, Haru loves to snuggle into the crook of their neck. Watching them become flustered through kisses makes her giggle, so she tends to do it often whilst cuddling. Her hair is also super soft to feel!!

& Bonus Character — Goro Akechi

{ Because I know you’ll all ask for him if I don’t. I see you, stans. }

✧ If it is early into the relationship, Akechi will straight up say no but in a very polite tone. He does not quite believe that their attraction to him is genuine & mediates with a kiss on the cheek.

✧ When he finally opens up to them, a lot of cuddling is done to relax. Akechi does not have a lot of time on his hands so if they are simply watching a movie together & are in an embrace, he likes to talk about things because he does not know when he will gain another moment such as this.

Goro's Eyes???

Got done downloading the 1.2 patch for Cyberpunk 2077, and everything looks pretty amazing, including the rainy weather (yes, it was raining in my game). Interestingly, Stan cut in on the radio and mentioned a weather forecast about the rainy weather. And now that I think about it, the reflections in the windows of River's truck were pretty impressive (I was doing I Fought the Law).

But on to the main thing! Goro's eyes seem...different? Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that post-patch? I, ahem, MAY have had that cheap joytoy model swap active as a convenient way to check how Goro's eyes looked without actually doing Play It Safe (still don't have the leg mod I want before I face Oda, so that's on hold). As far as the joytoy goes, I can report that the lighting in the cheap joytoy sex scene still seems pretty odd (I did want to see if they fixed that, because it always seemed pretty weird/off to me). Hmm, I wonder if Oda's eyes have changed, too. I didn't have time to load up and older save to check, so I'll have to check tomorrow.

Sidenote: I am apparently an idiot and V 3.0 doesn't have any hair mods - I only have one eye mod and the subtler lipstick mod (guess my V's hair in that elevator screenshot is one of the regular ones, lol).

like I’m just so frustrated w haru stans who honestly like, believe the biggest problem w her character was the lack of screen time

the PROBLEM is both the lack of screen time and how they literally just. basically have her forgive her father bc he did everything socially right and then got killed

like. i find it rly fucking annoying how she’s able to instantly forgive her father for being an entirely horrible person for nothing but his own gain, but she’s just barely able to sympathize with goro while watching him completely fall apart???

like. I get that the thing w haru + futaba and their dynamic w goro is supposed to be that they’re both fully ready to confront their parents killer and they’re expecting someone who’s doing this for personal gain or pleasure ala adachi and instead. they’re shown a mirror of themselves. they’re shown another teenager who’s lost everything due to cruel and selfish adults, but while they had others there to catch them, goro had nothing. he tried to fix it on his own, but it resulted in him being taken advantage of even more to the point that killing is normal to him now

futaba is shown someone who was told the exact same things she was: your mother committed suicide due to the stress you caused her. she’s seen the foster system, the horrors it brings. but sojiro took her in, and while she was still hurt she was physically safe and had someone who loved her. she got an out, got the eventual reassurance that her mother did love her and didn’t commit suicide. and she’s forced to learn the person who killed her mother had the same fucking thing happen: a single mother, stressed out from society, who kills herself and leaves behind a young child. he’s thrown into the foster system, but never gets out. it’s burned into his mind that he’s unwanted.

and haru has to see someone else used by their father, someone else who’s desperate for that shred of affection but who’s disgusted with himself for wanting it. goro has one use to shido, and it’s that he’s good at killing, and he hates it but he wants to be acknowledged so badly and he fears the repercussions of stopping

and yet they’re both summed up to. “I sympathize but can’t forgive” haru barely reacts, literally just saying that. futaba seems to have a more natural reaction, of seeming both unsure but explaining how she really does get his fear that he can’t change and that she truly does believe anyone can. but haru is just. they don’t show any emotional aspect or internal conflict for her. they don’t even address the fact that goro killed people for okumura???

like just gods I hope to hell that they give them both more detailed reactions to realizing akechis the black mask in p5r and trying to deal with both deeply empathizing with everything he’s been thru and their own hurt over their parents murder (and for haru, coming to terms both with her own love for her father vs the horrific person he was)

First Character You Loved:

Jonathan Joestar - who cant love Jonathan fr? He was so noble and good, but deep in his heart he has an anger and he is DRIVEN to protect his friends and destroy evil. Also that panel in the manga where he goes ape shit on some chocolate is a mood

Sora - hes baby. Thats it, hes baby. Sora is such a good sweet character, who is somehow goofy and naive while also being probably one of the most traumatized characters in the kh fandom. Hes just so driven, much like Jonathan, to care for his friends. Sora is the kind of person to walk into a room of people he doesnt know and walk out with new friends, i loved him from the moment i got into kh as a kid and i still love him now.

Kazuma Kiryu - AH. Hes just so stoic and cold by exterior, being an absolutely massive threatening yakuza, but in his heart? Hes a sweet man. Hes driven to protect his loved ones and he'll do so at any cost, and honestly i love that in a character. Hes also kind of stupid sometimes so its just an added bonus, how genuinely sweet he can be and how easily things fly over his head. A perfect mix of sweet and stupid, thats Kazuma Kiryu.

Character You Never Expected to Love so Much:

Caesar Zeppeli. Hes just? So loveable. At first he was such an asshole, but he had such a good reason to be. His and Joseph's friendship is clearly a very important thing too, and I like how Joseph carried on Caesar's legacy in his passing. Rip my spaghetti man.

This ones a hard one. I'll have to say a fair half of organization 13, because after reading the mangas ive been driven to love them despite not thinking I would. Axel and Saix in particular, then people like Demyx, and Luxord. They all have so much character and honestly? I love them!

Goro Majima, it took me a playthrough of yakuza 0 to realize how much i love his character. How hes not just "im fuckin crazy", hes actually driven and has a terrible backstory and Ough. Poor guy. I guess a lot of people stan him too because hes one of the main guys, but i do have to appreciate how his madness has a reason.

{ Once again, I wrote too much for Akechi because I was interested in how it would turn out. Hey, at least it’ll satiate the stans. }

Joker { Akira Kurusu }

✧ As the leader of the Phantom Thieves, Akira became increasingly concerned as his significant other said they felt as though they were going to collapse in Mementos. They had been on the back lines the entire time so there was no chance that they should be injured by anything but he decides to leave at the next Break Room because the others were tired as well.

✧ Something seemed to be different about their appearance but he could not quite pinpoint it. Perhaps they were tired? His mind was all too muddled to properly come to a conclusion & Morgana was telling him to head to bed.

✧ When the next meeting was called & they had not turned up, it was quite suspicious. His significant other was never one to miss a meeting, even if it was just to talk about information or plot. Pulling out his phone, he texted them but received no response for the entire afternoon.

✧ Disgruntled at the lack of response, he went to school the next day to confront them. Finding out they had not attended school today, he was worried even more than before. Could they be ill? Is that why they felt faint in Mementos?

✧ He never suspects that they would gain a Palace until someone else types their name into the Metaverse Navigator & tells him. As soon as he finds out, he wastes no time at all in infiltrating the Palace with the other Phantom Thieves.

✧ The whole time, he is quieter than usual & only speaks to give out orders to the others or to summon his Personas. In truth, he is reflecting & looking back at his interactions with them to see if there was anything he could have done to stop their Palace from developing.

✧ Once the time comes to send the Calling Card, he personally delivers it. No matter their response, Akira is determined to fix something he could have just as easily prevented. This is the one time that he feels a bad taste in his mouth from beating a Shadow.

✧ Immediately afterwards, he finds them & apologises for not being good enough. In the end whilst everything is fixed, Akira looks out more often for them. They are the most important thing in his life, after all.

Skull { Ryuji Sakamoto }

✧ Another mission in Mementos, another day. Dispatching of Shadows was easy for Skull as long as he had both his friends & his significant other. The next particular request was rather personal to them. So when Joker requested them on the front lines & their Phantom Thief outfit disintegrated into flames, something was wrong. Why had they lost their will to rebel?

✧ Everyone was concerned but they brushed it off, saying that someone else should just take their place. So Joker requested that he be put up in the front, which he wanted to badly to protest against but he could not find the words to do so, especially against his leader.

✧ With the Shadow dispatched of, Ryuji thought that they would return back to normal but they did not. Because Mementos was inherently dangerous, a decision to leave was made.

✧ Perhaps distorted by feeling useless to the rest of the Phantom Thieves, they eventually developed a Palace. Although he still hung out with them, their self-deprecating behaviour was concerning.

✧ It was all too similar to Futaba. The behaviour, how trapped they felt. At times, Ryuji was not the most intellectual of people but even he could connect the dots & type their name into the Metaverse Navigator. With some reluctance, he accepted that this was something the Phantom Thieves would have to tackle together.

✧ Throughout the Palace, he insists on being in the front lines as much as possible. Breaks become shorter & he feels more impatient. The others eventually have to force him to relax, they are working on the problem but in order to be safe, they had to regain energy.

✧ Once the Calling Card is delivered & they take the Treasure, Ryuji waits. He knows that most of the other victims of a Palace needed time to come to term with their thoughts & the others reminded him that patience is the key. Whenever they decide to start appearing in public again, he pulls them into a kiss & vows not to let anything bad happen to them ever again.

Fox { Yusuke Kitagawa }

✧ Shock is his first reaction when the other Phantom Theives inform him that his significant other had a Palace. Previously, Yusuke knew that they were a Persona user but they refused to join the group, opting to become their own vigilante of justice.

✧ Typing their name in, he has to confirm it for himself. Once he sees the actual Palace, only then does he properly believe that anything had happened to them. He strengthens his resolve but asks to remain on the back lines. Knowing full well that he is open to moments of emotion, Fox does not want to be in the way when there is a life threatening situation going down.

✧ Although he could not bare to fight against their Shadow self, he repeatedly insists on writing the Calling Card himself. It is incredibly well written, if not slightly melodramatic. However, it still has the intended effect.

✧ Giving them space is a ghastly thought, especially when who knows what they have been through in order to manifest a Palace? He immediately finds his way over to their house —even if he has to walk two miles— with comfort food.

✧ Ever so gently, Yusuke pulls them into a cuddle & asks if there is anything he can do to make them feel better. Despite the fact he has no money, pampering them emotionally is something he can do quite easily.

Crow { Goro Akechi }

✧ Encountering his significant other in the Metaverse had been a surprise to be sure & he had almost resigned himself to eliminating them but when they had told him that they were not interested in justice or Palaces & that they instead merely wanted to gather both materials from Mementos as well as flowers for Jose, he sighed in relief.

✧ Although it meant that he was forced to wear his Detective Prince outfit whenever he went to Mementos, it was easy to trick them whenever he saw them on the surface level talking to Jose. Besides, it was easy to switch between Personas.

✧ So when they stopped coming, he was concerned. They had been cancelling dates for a long while, which had never happened before & everything seemed so tense around them. It was strange.

✧ Weeks later, Akechi became sick of his behaviour & typed their name into the Metaverse Navigator. His heart went cold when a Palace of all things came up.

✧ Everything went on hold as he tried to figure out the location & distortion. Anything goes from texting them, to directly asking why they had been acting strange. From the terminology used, he eventually figures it out & heads to the Metaverse for the first time with the intent not to kill someone. He tears through the entire Palace in a day. No Shadow is left alive that tries to stop his approach. When he reaches the Treasure room he comes to a realisation: How can he force the Treasure to manifest?

✧ There was one solution & he hated to do so but eventually he decided to take up the name of the Phantom Thieves & cobbled together a calling card in their style. It was the same eloquent & extra writing along side their glitzy logo, so looked believable.

✧ Facetious was an accurate word to describe their reaction when he stated that this Calling Card was found in the mail & this reflected on their Shadow self. After defeating what was left of their cognition, Akechi took the Treasure, fleeing from the quickly fading Palace.

✧ When he next ran into them, things were much different. They apologised for being both physically & emotionally distant but he reassured them with a hug that there was no harm done. After all, he missed some dates himself.
