The Gift of Peace
I was not looking forward to this one at all. It’s no secret that I don’t like the more heavier themed movies like this. But I thought this was a very beautiful movie. I think people sometimes forget that Christmas is not easy for everyone, especially when dealing with loss. But I think this movie did a really nice job of touching on the subject and regaining hope of moving on without being overly preachy about it. I did like the idea of the support group and having them all go on their own little journeys . I do wish we could of gotten a bit more of their stories since it felt so much more based on Tracy’s. But it wasn’t something that hindered the movie in any way for me. Another thing I oddly found refreshing was that there was no kiss. But at the same time, I got the vibe that the door was open for them to possibly get together in the future which still made for a lovely ending. Casting wise, I was SO excited for this duo. I love both Nikki and Brennan and I’m just shocked this pairing didn’t happen sooner truthfully. But they were wonderful together, especially having to play not only 2 people grieving but also playing on building a friendship with the characters. The entire cast of this movie was just lovely and they all meshed very well together. I'm excited to see what the Daysprina series of movie bring. But this was a really wonderful start.
Rating: 3 - While I probably won’t watch again, there’s no denying how beautiful this movie is and deserves at least one viewing, hence my rating.

Hallmark’s The Gift of Peace explores the connection between grief and faith through an authentic depiction of what happens to people when they lose someone. No two people grieve the same way—that’s a fact many of us have grown to understand throughout our lives, but what people seldom address, especially in overt Christian films, is the anger that comes with it all.
As a Christian, many films that focus on faith often heighten quoting The Bible at every turn. But that’s not how most of us talk. Yes, we pray. Yes, we remind people of specific verses when they’re in a particular situation, but there’s a language that screenplays often use that makes it sound forced as opposed to organic. However, in this film, the language feels natural because the focus is on healing through a powerful message instead of preaching.
