The Veil Jumpers were founded by the Dalish but the Dalish aren't their only members. Did you skim past the literal intro to the Veil Jumpers when you were making your character? Arlathan Forest is riddled with reality warping magic and it's incredibly dangerous. They know it's incredibly dangerous and they risk their lives being there and exploring. There are still deeply mistrustful Dalish clans in the area re: the ones being massacred by the Evanuris that escaped that they're trying to help, that's just not the faction we meet. And if you forget, it is crawling with Tevinter Agents (the Venatori) as we have to fight them constantly.
I suggest you play the intro again because they don't meet Bellara and then walk into the bubble; they have already been in the bubble by time they meet Bellara. That's why her intro speech includes "hey, would love to go back with you to Veil Jumper camp, but we can't leave the bubble. Can walk in, cannot walk out. We are stuck." You comment on the funny fog you're walking through before you find her which is the "shell" of the bubble. You are already trapped in there with her, the resident expert, and probably only person that can free you. She has the upper hand in every respect and she knows it; she's just also, as a character, very open and curious and trusting through the rest of the game. You think it would be "more interesting" for her to act out of character and like she's still in a Dalish clan and doesn't like anyone she meets. You're projecting your personal desires at a character and situation that doesn't fit them. That's not the writer's fault, that's on you that you think all Dalish need to act the same. Then again, that gives you purchase to write all the fic you want to rewrite the scenes for your enjoyment.
Also, what proof would they give that they're from the Veil Jumpers besides the inside knowledge that Strife sent them (the name of their leader) because she's the best at elven magic (she is)? That stuff's probably not things that a massacring Venatori crew much cares about. Like what, a lil note from Strife that says "They're not evil." "Hey they're cool." "Trust me bro." or like a hall pass/badge that they give to their newest outsider friends? Arlathan forest has been long picked through of the best stuff and treasure hunters; what's left is incredibly dangerous and the Tevinter gits that try to steal it usually die in the process. Being a Veil Jumper is dangerous after all and the forest doing things it shouldn't is why the Veil Jumpers were founded.
And yes, you are missing the context. 10 years of in-world context apparently. Dragon Age is a mixed media franchise. There's an anthology of short stories, Tevinter Nights, that set up some of the factions and some of our companions and NPC friends and a four volume comic series, The Missing Collection, that details some of Varric and Harding's adventures before picking up Rook (that they picked up cause The Missing makes it obvious that Solas knows them too well and they need a new person that would throw him for a loop). You don't even have to buy them if you can't, you can find where people reupload them for free and share the download link. You can also read the wiki page and get a quick synopsis of each story instead if that's too much work. It'll give you a pretty good idea of the big themes and actions, though you'll miss the good little details. Dragon Age has never contained all of the story in the games. (see, setting up Celene and Briala and meeting Felassan in The Masked Empire or the fact that it's Fiona that's Alistair's mom and Duncan's old friend in The Calling.) Ruins of Reality (free as part of the Dragon Age Day celebration) shows Strife and Irelin getting involved with some of that dangerous awakening magic in Arlathan forest and can be safely viewed as a precursor to why they founded the Veil Jumpers. Between that short story and The Missing is when the group is founded.
But skipping all of that, we learned at the end of Trespasser that Solas was out in the world and has spent 10 years freeing slaves and spreading the news of his self and what he's working towards. He tells the Inquisitor much of the same information he's going to share with others when they catch up to him at the end of the game. Strife and Irelin are the ones that tell you the Evanuris were bad news when you meet them (Rook: OH joy I thought Solas was lying); safe to say, that means it's more likely to be common knowledge now between Solas and Morrigan running around then not. Bellara felt the fuckening happening with the Veil and the magic all starting back up again; it's an easy to accept explanation that that fuckening and the sky getting all weird a few days ago was Solas's ritual that went wrong and the gods busting out of their prison. Gods that they already know are bad news.
You're upset that the faction that welcomes anyone into their ranks with a common goal isn't acting like a Dalish clan when they are not a Dalish clan. It's not shallow writing, it's you getting an idea in your head of how you wanted their meeting to be and then calling it shallow writing.
We do, actually, see slavery in the slavery capital. Even though Neve tells us to our face in no uncertain terms that we are in the poorest part of the city and people here can't afford to have slaves. We walk through multiple homeless camps. There are people in cages and chains down by the docks. You have a mission to kill mercenaries capturing people to sell as slaves. You need to clean up the Blight in that tunnel under the Shadow Dragon hideout because that's a path they use to get slaves out of the city. There's notes about their other escape paths crumbling and needing work so they can keep going. "There's no slavery in Minrathous!!" you walked into a closet and asked why there's no toilet in this bathroom. There was slavery in Minrathous; they just didn't take us to the rich part of town and rub our faces in it to make sure people wouldn't miss it.
The Crows are putting on their best face to their new ally cause they would really really like help with their occupation problem. Crow!Rook and Lucanis have banters about how deadly and grueling and cruel their training was. Lucanis is the last of his family because of infighting slaughtering the rest. Illario straight sold him out to a blood mage, kills that blood mage before she can snitch, and then sells out the other crows and kidnaps/fakes the murder of his grandmother just because he wants to be first crow. There's more, I'm just not hunting it down. Someone else already compiled a post about all the banters showing the Crows are still a bloody problem. Again, the game didn't rub our faces in it so it's magically not there? It's there, it's just not in the limelight right now because of the whole "escaped gods trying to destroy the world" thing happening.
The factions themselves don't even interact until the final battle and only if you've helped them all. And things are kind of cut to the bone by then; it's do or die on a global scale. The cultural conflict does happen between your hired coworkers though. It's mostly in banter so you have to take the time to get to it (like most of the best details in these games tbh) but again not rubbing our faces in it doesn't mean it wasn't in the game.
Not everyone is super devout to their religion in real life either; we are in the North of Thedas instead of the South. Dorian never seemed as religious as the others, either. In fact he thinks they're going to think he's influencing you in terrible ways Inquisitor. Tevinter has never sounded as religious as the South seems and the South is where we've been. (Exluding Kirkwall, but they are operating like the Southern Chantry so it's safe to lump them in with Southern Chantry Behaviors.) How do you expect the writers to shoehorn the Black Divine into the game? Like, where would it have been appropriate? What would the Black Divine have to do with the little people and back alley factions we're working with here outside the Mourn Watch? Tevinter has long established that their Chantry is basically a figurehead and that the Magisterium is the ones that have the real power and do all the actual "work". We don't have any devout Chantry employed people like we have in past games, either, for them to bring it up and talk about it. *EDITING TO ADD A CORRECTION* It's no longer kind of hinted by conversations and codex entries, The Viper/Ashur is the Black Divine. We literally met the Black Divine and didn't even know it because they don't advertise it. Makes sense cause like if that's common knowledge then he'd probably be assassinated. But this man literally looked at the Magisterium, realized it was failing the people, and started an organization with one he could trust after they were stripped of their title to take direct action. Why couldn't he just give orders and do that as the Divine? Because as Divine he doesn't have political power here. Like. It was right there. He is actively among the little people as himself because his political self as Divine was powerless.
How would you expect them to arbitrarily shove in and retread the exact same stuff for a fourth time? EA set them up for an impossible task, repeatedly hamstrung them and their team, and they still produced a good game.
It felt shallow to you but it also sounds like you barely scratched the surface and didn't really bother taking the time to thoroughly explore what the game offered because you were so offended it wasn't what you, personally, wanted out of it. Which is fine, just say it's a bad game. But absolutely flying past what the game does have while you insist it doesn't have those very things?
a really cool part about dragon age veilguard is the first scene where you meet bellara, especially if you're a shadowdragon mage and you have neve with you
so to set the scene: bellara, the dalish elf who's devoted her life to the conservation, discovery and protection of her people's lost and ancient history, meets two strangers, two tevinter mages, in sacred arlathan. They tell her, hey your gods are back in the world but also they suck and we gotta kill them, and instead of telling them "fuck off you vile enslaving shem, you defile this land with your presence" like most normal dalish, not only does she instantly believe them that her gods are bad for some reason, they're back among the people and need to be stopped, she also happily starts telling them all kinds of secrets and valuable knowledge about ancient elven magic and is even so kind to, without question, take them on a grand tour of this very historically important and sacred ruin in arlathan to find a truly priceless artifact, a one of a kind archive of ancient elven knowledge thought lost forever, because really, what could these unknown tevinter mages possible want with that!
...
are these writers smoking crack?? is that it? theyre smoking crack??

Yandere Haikyuu x Reader x Yandere Kuroko No Basketball
A/N: Hear me out.. What if reader was the twin sister of Tobio Kageyama? I mean neglected twin sister? If you wanna know, give it a read..
Imagine being the twin sister of a Vollyball prodigy, where your achivements were always overshadowed by his, all the parties were about him, celebrating him and most of all Loving him. Everything was about him, your twin, The perfect child, Kageyama Tobio. And there you were the imperfect one.
Growing up with him was nice, well until elementary, until he made his debute as a vollyball player, everything was perfect, no competition for anything. Everything was divided equally. But after Tobio started playing vollyball and everything became a competition, from love to celebrations.
Even though you both were born on the same day, there was now only one cake, vollyball themed, his favorite flavor, gifts for him. Nothing for you... When it started in 2nd grade, you just believed that your present must have been lost in the mail or the bakery messed up you cake, but as the years passed you realized the pattern. Never once did the bakery mess up Tobio's cake, or never once did his gifts get lost in the mail. As a last ditch effort to gain your grandfather's and older sister's attention, you started playing vollyball. Again at fist you got the attention you craved for, but again you fell behind and your family again started focusing on Tobio, ignoring you again.
The neglect got worse when you entered Junior High, and along with the neglect there was bullying too by an upperclassman who had it out for your twin, Oikawa Tooru. Even after he graduated, the bullying didn't stop, because "since Oikawa-senpai bullied you means you deserved it". It was hell for you, while your brother stayed blissfully unaware.
In the second year, your gandpa had passed so it was just you and your siblings, it didn't affect you as much as you thought it would. But for the other two, it was hard since they were close.
Then came the devestating news, Due to overworking yourself, it caused an injury, an injury that could criple you if you continued to play.
They weren't even at the hospital when you got this news. And this was the last straw for you. You did stop playing, not that you were truly able to enjoy it due to the constant expectation and pressure you faced to keep up with your brother. You may not have had talent for vollyball, but academically? you were on a level of your own. You had many unpublished Novels too but they needed to be edited and you were going to ask someone to read it before you were truly going to publish it.
You took scholarship exams for everywhere except Miyagi for high school, you need to get a fresh start, away from the people you knew. You did get a full academic scholarship to a school that recently opened in Tokyo, Seirin High School. You accepted it.
You decided to become a content creator, specifically a Gamer, to provide for yourself. You made an online friend in this chaos, while getting used to playing the video games, applepi.
He went to Nekoma High School in Tokyo and was happy to know that you would move to Tokyo for your education.
Your steams were doing great and now you had a good amount saved up.
You then decided it was time to tell your siblings or your departure. You called you sister and invited her for dinner. She agreed and talked about not seeing you and your brother in a while. You called Tobio and asked him to end practice early and join dinner that will be held the evening appoaching.
You prepared a variety of dishes, and some drinks too. When they both arrived and began eating, you broke the news.
You looked at them, waiting for a reaction. Your sister was stunned but you didn't expect your brother to stat yelling angrily. He looked like you told him it was you who killed their grandfather or something.
He was yelling things that could only be described as incohearent. After his episode, he started crying alot with fat tears and snot poring down.
It surprised you and you immediately went to comfort him, you were never able to hate him. I mean why would you? He was just doing what he loved, it was the adults fault for your neglect.
He took while to calm down but he kept repeating 'You can't leave me, Please.' You felt guilty but it was your future, and you knew if you stayed in Miyagi you won't be able to get out of the shell. You tried to reason with him but he didn't budge, acting like a toddler who refused to give up his toy.
Your sister intervened, stating that it would be expensive to live in a big city and it will probably be out of our budget since Tobio requires money for his equipment and camp trips that he would take in the future.
You reassured her money won't be a problem, since you got a scholarship, meaning you didn't need to pay a dime. The only catch was that you would need to join an after school club, more specifically a sports club. She asked about the living arrangements since your school does not provide dormetories. You told her that one of your friends had found you a cheap apartment near your school. (The said apartment was owned by Kenma, hence the cheap rent, but you don't need to know that) You also don't need to know that he has camera and bugs set up in that apartment
Tobio and Miwa (you older sister) were about to tell you it was a bad idea and Miwa was about going to refuse paying for it, but before they could say anything, you told them you already had a job and can pay for it yourselves.
They were stunned and Tobio started hugging you even tighter. You reassured him that you would visit and try to be at all his games but he just said,
"It won't be the same without you at school"
To which you do agree since you won't be there to tutor him and give him your notes. Your sister reluctantly agreed, and even if she didn't you were going to leave anyway so it didn't matter much.
You moving day was 1 week away and during that week Tobio refused to leave your side, still trying to get you to stay, even if he didn't say it, his body language gave the message clearly. He stated hiding your things, and when you found the things he looked like a lost puppy.
On the last day, Tobio gave you a gift.. A Bugged Phone. You thanked him but did enquire about how he got the money, he told you he had used his allowance since he never used it. You were happy that finally accepted your decision.(He didn't)
You moved about 2 weeks before school stats to get settled, You move in the apartment that your friend applepi, whose real name was Kozome Kenma was gracious help you find. He was also kind enough to show you around the city and major landmarks you needed to remembered. You soon got to know your neighbour who was also a student at the same high school as you, his name was Kagami Taiga.
He and you became friends quite quickly and he introduced to basketball.
And soon School started.
You joined the basketball club as a manger and found it fun since there was no expectations to out do anyone. You also became close to Taiga and his 'shadow' Kuroko Tetsuya. You still hung out with Kenma and streamed online with him on his or your channel, your identity was hidden and you went by an alias, Etsu. You were only called that online and other than Kenma no one knows about your identity.
You met Kenma's team, who were very shocked at Kenma having a friend other than them, much less a beauty like you.
You also met Tetsuya's former team mates who were called The Generation Of Miracle.
You talked to Tobio every night without fail or else he would bombard your phone and also said he would show up at your house if you didn't pick up his calls.(How though? you didn't tell tell him your address?)
You didn't realize it then but your friends were now acting strange.... They were overprotective and always watching you, and you don't know why?
Also your brother was also acting weirdly clingy...
He did introduce you to his friends when you went to visit him, he acted.. Different.
He also told you about people he would go against. One of them was Oikawa-senpai
He was especially clingy when you both accidently ran into Oikawa and Iwaizumi while returning from the cafe you wanted to try.
Wait now that you mention it, Oikawa-senpai and Iwaizumi-senpai were also acting odd, so friendly, as if they didn't make your life hell in Jr high.
What is up with everyone?
Why are they paying attention to you now?
Your new friend, sure it was fine..
But why you former senpai and his friends?
Its okay.. You can just ignore it since you don't live in Miyagi anymore...
But what's up with Kuroko's friends trying to one up each other in front of you? Maybe it's just how they are?
Maybe they just treat each others friends like this? Buying them gifts, telling them their horoscope and giving you your lucky item, giving them sweets?
Yeah they were probably like that to everyone right?
Right...?
No Ulterior motive...
Its not like you were someone special..
You were just plain Kageyama Y/N..
Everyone is so kind to you now...
I WONDER WHY

red in his cheeks, green in his eyes┊i. rin
✮ tags. . (18+), fluff (sfw), not established relationship, all characters are adults. no use of pronouns but afab!reader in mind, reader wears a dress and earrings.
✮ summary. . you always enjoy making your soon-to-be boyfriend blush; it's so simple that it's become a habit.
✮ wc. . 1k
✮ notes. . i want to make him blush and make him so uncomfortable that he doesn't know what to do with himself, my bad lskd | divider creds: cafekitsune.
Rin Itoshi is many things.
Some people may point out how good a soccer player he is, others will comment that he is cold and unfriendly. If you ask him himself he will tell you that he is (probably) resentful and vengeful.
However to you, while many of these things are true (especially the part about him being cold), you will highlight how good of a listener he is, especially since he prefers to stay quiet while listening to you direct the conversation where you want it to go and how you want it to go, providing occasional monosyllables or some vibration that comes from his throat rather than his chest. He will make contributions to the conversation about his personal life or his day exclusively if you ask directly about it.
Although the last few weeks, he has been a bit more talkative than usual (that is, complete sentences without you having to ask him about his day first).
Rin is someone sweet, at least in his own way. His good listening makes him surprise you with details you're not expecting, like remembering important dates or little details of what you told in a babbling outburst that you barely remember now and you like him, you genuinely do. You're able to see through him, really see what's hidden in his chest behind those layers of hatred and rancor that hide pain and Rin hates it.
Among the long list of things he hates, is your way of being able to read him so easily. Recognizing why there are wrinkles on his forehead, his wrinkled nose or pursed lips. He dislikes how gentle you are when you approach him, you treat him with the same gentleness in which a butterfly would sit on a flower and that settles his stomach, tightens his gut and makes him feel sick; to the point where he claims he has a fever, it's not normal the way his whole body suddenly starts to burn, his forehead and ears, his neck and chest tight, along with sweaty palms.
He dislikes how nice you are to others when most don't deserve it and also how pretty you look when you wear those summer dresses because they make others look, when no one else should be able to admire how beautiful you are.
There are many things Rin detests about himself, his brother and certain parts of your personality, but never you, or your presence in his room late at night or your high, excited laughter that comes straight from your stomach. He could never hate you, not when you look at him like you do now, with dilated pupils and eyes full of genuine concern. He didn't remember what it was like to be treated like that, not at least not since he was a child.
“You didn't have to come see me.” Rin says it more out of concern —you are sick, after all— but he tries to sound nonchalant, ignoring the incessant drumming of his heart. His crossed arms rest against his chest as he leans his body weight against the wall.
“Of course I had to, it's your last game, I had to come give you your good luck gift,” you say, a smile etched into your words and with a voice heavy with a cold, you almost sound like you just woke up.
It's halftime, and Rin has slipped out of the locker room so he can see you in the semi-dark hallway. Even in the poor lighting, the earrings he gave you for your birthday sparkle with excitement, a nice touch that goes so well with your impish smile and the outfit you've chosen for him.
“Gift?” His greenish eyes go to yours after scanning (he hopes slyly) your figure.
“Hm.” You purr as you lean in a little closer, invading his personal space. You take his arm, freeing it from the shield that covered his ribs, to intertwine your fingers with his. That simple contact is enough for the dizziness and numbness to take hold of him again.
His fingers tighten under the heat of your touch. And when you lean in for a quick kiss, his whole body stiffens, his eyes open wider, unlike yours. You're so close he can feel your chest press against his, as your perfume envelops him with a familiar warmth. Your lips linger together for an instant, not deepening the kiss that seems to be the promise of something more.
You've been dating for a few weeks, though calling it “dating” is debatable. You're still in that unlabeled limbo where you're two friends holding hands, shopping together, going to the movies, and occasionally sharing a kiss. Sometimes you'd like to know what Rin is thinking….
“If you win you'll have more of these,” as you pull away from him you lick your bottom lip, still tasting him in your mouth.
…Especially at times like these, where his cheeks are so red from a simple touch, where he knows how to hide his nervousness so well and yet his face always gives it away.
His eyes drift to the end of the hallway, to where the light of the stadium devours the shadows. From there, the bustle of the stands comes muffled, almost drowned out by the buzz of adrenaline coursing through your body.
Rin pulls away, pushing aside the fingers you had grabbed and allowing them to return to their usual space, on his chest. Then he heads toward the locker room, perhaps to wipe off his sweat and get some water before returning to the field. Before disappearing completely, he stops to look at you. Your hands hang clasped together, and your smile —that smile that warms his body— seems to light up as if all the lights are on you.
“Watch me score the next goal for you.” Your smile widens, revealing your pearly teeth, and Rin wants to die right there. The next words he tries to say get stuck in his throat a couple of times, as if an invisible hand is squeezing his neck.
“You look beautiful,” he says, with a heated face. “But I'm still pissed that you're here while you're still sick.” And maybe, just maybe, those are the most romantic words you've heard from him in weeks.
You know how hard it is for Rin to open up and express how he feels. Even so, you're willing to wait for him until he's ready to admit what you both already know. In the meantime, you'll continue to relish every opportunity to make him blush or feel uncomfortable in the sweetest way possible.

The grimoire contains several full lore books: Unveiling, Regarding Stasis and Inspiral + multiple individual grimoires and lore tabs. It also contains some parts of several collector's editions (BL, WQ and TFS). I'll transcribe new lore under read more, but first! Intro and pictures:
Intro from Eris!
Friend. I write as a woman changed. My recent contact with the Darkness was as formative as my long-ago rebirth in the Light. So after all this, here, at the end, I will say: Do not ignore the changes we have endured, and do not disregard the difference between the Light and Darkness. It is not vanity for me to acknowledge that I have unique insight to impart. I have witnessed Darkness in all its forms, in all its terrible pain and contortions, and all the violence it inflicts. But despite this and above all, I see in it the aches and yearnings for a more complete world. There is collapse and indistinction, but also, there is preservation. Not stultifying, but vital. This is what I have learned. We have harnessed the Darkness because it beats harnessing. It has yielded the fruits of our future, nurtured against great opposition. Every boundary invites transgression. We are not beyond our own affronts, which have inevitably changed us. That is not weakness, or folly, or failure. I maintain that balance is not equity. I do not accept the Darkness on the same terms as the Light. Darkness is a tool to be used and a path to walk, but it is not our essence. We must hold fast to that understanding. To do otherwise invokes delusion. The Darkness and the Light are not opponents, but neither are they allies. There is a natural conflict between them, but we have the capacity to hold contradictions within ourselves, and so they mingle with great effort on our part. That is the beauty of our complexity, the purview of the Light. Our safe contact with the Darkness is only possible because of the Light. Even so, the Light exists not as our protector, but as our guide. That is all I wish to impart. To every fire, its fuel, Eris Morn.

And now! New lore. Some of these may be upcoming lore pages? Or they're only for this book, unsure yet. But either way, they're not in the game as of now.
Club Morgue Ahsa, lay low your flukes. Doff your cap and coat. You're safe here. You know you'll keep your promise to find the place where this all began. But for now, rest. No, I'm not death, though it is my tool. "Nothing" doesn't interest me, you understand? A flawed existence is preferential to none at all. Things are the way they have to be, instead of the way they'd like to be. Ah, Ahsa. You saw it all - the extinction, the extermination, the gamma-ray bursts burning up your garden worlds, the singularities eating up infant suns. It hurt you so! And you turned to me, asking why it had to be. I didn't answer. I never do. I'm a question. It's up to you to find the answer. Build the castle. So far they all fall over, but maybe one day one won't. How? I don't know. Figure it out, do the work, ask the question. What will remain in the end, when the stars go out, and creation freezes in the half-light of evaporating black holes? These killers you're after. They were very much like you, Ahsa. They wanted to know why; why there had to be life, why there had to be death. But then, not liking the answer they made for themselves- Well. You'll see. Go on, Ahsa. Someone's coming to see you, and I'm sure she's got a real humdinger of a proposal for you to hear. Her sister, though... it'll really wind her up if you die by any other hand but hers. She means to take you for her worm. And she pretty much runs this town, truth be told. Watch yourself out there. It's a war zone.
I will assume this is future lore tab for Heresy. Deals with the Hive and someone talking to Ahsa. Very strange speaking tone, reminiscent of Unveiling to me. Obvious mention of Savathun ("humdinger of a proposal") and Xivu who apparently wants to take Ahsa as her worm. Very strange overall, probably lacking in context from the next episode, but a nice little treat for what might be coming in Heresy. Would love to see more on Ahsa!
Charybdis It seemed so simple to me when I first heard it: the strongest survive. It's obvious. If it can be destroyed, it must be destroyed. And in that destruction, the victor becomes even stronger. Kind of like Guardians, honestly. All of us. It makes sense of how we grow. Take the Crucible. We sharped our skills against each other in the arena. The less skilled become fodder - for a match point, for practice, for testing new ways of burning or electrocuting or... spaghettifying. Those who reach the top climb stairs made of bodies. Sword logic seems simple, clean, beautiful. Scooped out of Hive goop and guts, it shines like a searchlight, a bright beam cutting across the sky in perfect straight lines. But there's something more to it. Some extra... magic? The Hive do magic, sure. Runes and math and a sharp edge. What are the Hive doing that we can't do? Or is it more about the Darkness than the Hive? Or is it both? I need to know. To be part of it. I decided the best place to start figuring it out was by studying Hive. The way they live, the way they die. And no one looks at me twice for going after Hive - any good Guardian fights Hive, right? I beat through Thralls and Acolytes with my burning mauls. It got routine. And one day, as typical as any other, I realized how easy it was, how these Acolytes were barely worth the air they breathed if they were just going to break like simple bone - but then, something changed. I felt it. My mind reshaped into sword-thinking. I began to practice it like I lived it, and then I did live it. It was part of me, and I of it. You'll feel it, too, if you follow that path. You'll know when the sword goes from being your weapon to part of your arm. I became one with the sword, and the Light in my hands burned brighter and brighter. Since then, I've just been getting stronger. I triumph, and the Light sings, and from my heart to my fingertips, I am alight with glory. Again, and again, I prove my existence to be the truest thing: that I am more real than any other who strives to strike at me. My sword, my self, is forged in Light, and it is hungry. What else can I do with this sharpness that I have cultivated so carefully? What else could WE do? How strong could we become? We Guardians are worthy. I know I can yet become sharper. // ACCESS: RESTRICTED DECRYPTION KEY: 32C49KLD032XAR-612 HIDDEN AGEND: [REDACTED] RE: VIP #1290 Departure from the City Confirmed VIP #1290 has left the Last City without further incident. Hidden agents have traced her trail and have destroyed data and materials left behind to avoid potential misuse or corruption. However, VIP #1290 eventually discovered the Hidden tracker and burned it out - so she's in the wind. Ghost status currently unknown, but probably alive. At least for now. At this time, recommend scouts do not approach. She's dangerous enough without us feeding her. At least she's out there, not in here.
Another one that seems like something coming up in Heresy. Some Guardian who we only know is a Titan has started practicing the Sword Logic and she's dangerous and currently missing. VIP number is brand new, it doesn't match any of the existing ones so we don't know who this is. Either not entirely important, as it's just one small look into what's going on or it's something that will be further elaborated in Heresy. That is, if my assumption that these are going to be lore tabs in the game is correct. Certainly feels like it.
Next is a new lore tab from Osiris! On the left is an old lore tab, on the right is new.
On Concerns, Previously Expressed Ikora, You know as well as I that the Vex yet require attention. I have said before - many, many times - that their threat is greater than any other. And while the recent depredations of the WItness have proven this set of priorities temporarily mis-ordered, I fear that the threat of the Vex may not only spread in the aftermath, but also go underestimated. It is tempting to let our guard down and breathe easy. We cannot. Before my exile, I made plain my opinions on Light and Darkness, on the foolishness of considering them "good" and "evil." This remains true, doubly so now. Our enemy was never the Darkness itself, but that which worked within it. And that childish division of good against evil has distracted from the unceasing enemy: the Vex. They care not which force they grasp. They care not about morality. They care - if one can call it that - only for convergence. They advance, and they will not stop unless we stop them. Every time they have closed their gap to paracausality, even in the smallest way, it has been nigh disastrous. I am sure I need not remind you of Quria, of the eternal night that threatened to fall over the Last City. Of the Black Heart, that Vex attempt to recreate the Veil which could itself have been catastrophic. Of the Black Garden, and the remnant of the Witness that Guardians found there, redolent of Darkness. We may not yet have seen what happens when the Vex grasp the Light, but I assure you, if it has not yet begun, it soon shall. Time is inevitably limited, until the Vex in their infinite adaptability learn how Light and Darkness both may be turned to their advantage. It is my recommendation as advisor to the Vanguard that the Vex be logged as the most urgen enemy of sentient life, both of the Last City and the growing alliances formed these past years. Please, Ikora. I would not raise this yet again if I did not believe it to be of utmost importance. Consider it well. -Osiris.
NO CLUE where to place this one. It's definitely not in the game, so either also upcoming lore or just in the book. What makes me suspicious about it being upcoming lore is that the name is too big to be an item, so maybe a lore book page? But Heresy is largely going to be about the Hive so I'm intrigued about a letter from Osiris to Ikora urging her to act on the Vex being relevant. Other than that, it's Osiris back to cooking about the Vex. He is out here literally "as per my last email"-ing Ikora and continuing the same argument he's had for centuries. I am also wondering where is this lore tab in relation to the stuff from Echoes. It's likely post-Witness' defeat, but no idea if it's also after Echoes. Osiris is definitely worried about them getting paracausality and reaching for the Light. Future setup? Very cool, I ate it.
Both of these are new.
On the Witness My Hidden friend, The neonate worm, Ahsa. She spoke to the Guardian, and this is what she imparted: Look to the place where the Witness formed. An exhausted world, made so long ago that even silicon was a luxury. That is where the hunt began. The Traveler graced that world. But it wasn't enough. Those who lived there saw a creation born to die. They wanted it to mean something. It had to mean something. And if it didn't, they would make it mean something. For, in their view, to make something was to understand it. I understand this impulse too well. But they chose a truly rotten betrayal. To open up and take, and remake, their god. And they would use the Darkness to do it. Finding no meaning at all in the act of creation, they decided, that the only place left for reason, intent, and consciousness to reside was in the act of elimination. If their god the Traveler made things for no reason, then a merciful, purposeful winnower must have good reason to remove them. In mimicry of this belief, they winnowed themselves down to a single awareness - all their thought and pain compressed into a bombshell of consciousness and intent. Magnificently aware of all the universe's failings. A conscious witness to the testament of the Light's sins. A final, ruinous creation born of their civilization. A knife. And it set out after the Traveler. Not to destroy it, but to defeat it. To impose a will upon an absence it saw as unacceptable. Negligent. To dictate, by force, how things ought to be. The motive is to impose meaning upon Dark and Light beyond mere primordial dynamics. The killer is an anthology of this ancient civilization's rage at their god's silence. I find that I pity these vanished people. But if all the cosmos turned inward, as I turned inward for a while, as these people turned inward forever, then we would all be alone. Yes, it is awful to face loss. But we must keep cooperating in the face of all extinction. Or there can never be anything better. This is all I know.
Also most likely coming up in Heresy. Wild stuff in here. Ahsa is mentioned again; I'm not sure if this is referring to what Ahsa showed us back in Deep or if she'll be showing us something more. Obviously it would be spoilers to tell us everything but these little bits and pieces are unhinging my mind. No idea who is talking here and to whom; my assumption is that Mara is writing to Eris, mostly because Mara says "My Hidden friend" to Eris in the Taken King opening cutscene. What to say about this other than I am insane. More about the Witness and its civilisation please.
Cacophony, Euphony We listen. We witness. We wait. Through the Darkness, we hear a single voice. With a thought, we are there, to touch the mind that reaches into this domain. Cradled by Darkness, it asks a question. We answer this one, like we have others. We are generous with answers. Not all beings can understand the answers we give, but we try. Again, and again. None ought to cry out, only to suffer no answer. There are always more voices in the Darkness, reaching out. We turn. Far distant, there is a people lacing ribbons of Darkness through their thoughts to bring them closer together, that no one might be divided from the purpose they have dreamed for themselves. But they have no come to Darkness through the Gardener's neglect - it is simply their natural course. In time, we shall enfold them into our shape, but they need not urgent salvation. Our presence drifts. And still, we listen in the Darkness. There is violence that corrodes constructs like peace. There is the Hive. Some resist the rampaging Hive, crying out into the Darkness. It is to us they reach, in the end. We hear their pleas and grant them succor, salvation, enshrining them in our monument. Toward our inevitable final shape. There is time enough to reach out to the farthest corners of Darkness, to inhabit it so deeply and thoroughly; we will hear whomever calls out in it. We will answer. We will always answer. Even that which passes temporarily below our notice will be found again; and we will hear those questions and give purpose. Give salvation. Always, we listen for signs of the Gardener. Our Disciples pursue it still, to pluck it from the chords of infinity. We listen. We wait.
This is a banger. Also probably coming in Heresy (or after?). Very curious about this one. There's indication that this is from the Witness while it still lived; the speaking as "we," the name mentioning "euphony" (Salvation's Edge raid exotic also with curious lore in regards to the Witness), saying "our Disciples." It also makes sense; the Witness felt betrayed and abandoned by the Traveler who never spoke back and never answered questions or given directions, so the Witness sought to do the opposite. It's why it was so easy to fall under its influence; the Witness always reaches back. And it's all framed as the Witness believing it was helping. I also love how it mentions other species that were using Darkness naturally; they aren't specified, but we know they existed. Either way, I'm obsessed.
Finally! These two are also both new and it's how the whole book ends. This is a different "Winnowing" from the one in Inspiral.
Winnowing I have come to delight so in this: in possibility, and its end. Oh, I kicked and fought and screamed about it at first! I was fond of what we had! But the table was upturned, and a knife cannot be un-invented, and so here we are. The rules changed - a little. The pattern altered - but a micron. I got used to it, as they say. People can get used to anything, and the same holds true for concepts that have existed before and after time itself, though it may take an eon or twenty. So here I am, among the stars. They burn so brightly, but given a billion or ten billion years, they chill: their mass reduces to nothing but throbbing embers, at last gasping into stillness and ash. Even the loudest of celestial roars cannot outpace infinity. I am assured. I have come around. There is charm in diversity, in the uncountable ways a speck of cosmic dust may climb to cognizance and philosophy, only to find the same old truth of decay. Again and again, I am proven right: it all ends the same. It isn't about violence, mind you. It's about inevitability. Simplicity. The unnecessary removed, the requisite remaining. Whether the knife is made of metal or the folded layers of time, it matters no. The pattern triumphs. The stars burn out. And I am right. So every being made in that garden of possibilities, every creation that looks at infinity and comes to my same conclusion - why, I cannot help but love them. The rules were altered, and still they have said: here is the truth. Possibilities do not change what is. The pattern is the pattern, and its reliable certainty is its beauty. Even a cheater of eternity cannot yet win its wager. The game is longer now, but I will be its victor. In this eon, or a thousand hence.
Losing it seriously, I'm losing it. This is a clear throwback to Unveiling and Inspiral and also Nacre! It is the same speaker or emulating the same speaker at least, so we'll call it "Winnower." I really like how it calls itself a concept. There's not really much to say other than delving into a 10k word essay on the philosophy and concepts and options and possibilities (hah) so yeah. Very obviously referring to the Flower Game and the change in rules with paracausality and how this entity still believes itself to be correct and how it will still win in the end. Since it literally refers to itself as a concept, I will continue treating this whole thing as allegorical rather than talking about it as some real character, at least until further notice. There's a lot of metaphorical language going on here and I will continue looking at it as such rather than making clickbait statements like "this is the new antagonist and we'll fight it in a raid in 10 years." Maybe! Who knows. For now, all we have is yapping like this and this thing calling itself a concept and talking in allegories. Either way, absolutely stunning piece of lore. There's a reason my favourite thing ever is Unveiling and it's this mystical, religious incomprehensible information from a thing that maybe exists beyond time and space, who everyone can interpret in a different way. 10/10
Gardening You delight in possibility. The same action, over and over, only produces the same results if all circumstances are the same. But there are so many variables - a million different outcomes may spring forth from one action. One stray atom changes a lifetime, and one breath of wind, an eon of history. Choice is infinite; and possibility, endless. To some, it is only statistics. But you have ever been captivated by that miracle. You know stagnancy. You have seen it many times: the same stable oblong it all comes down to when growth has ended. The soft-pulsing oscillation over one spot, never truly carrying on further until stirred by some outside force. A depletion of possibility, the flowers never finding further growth, even if they never die. A single breath might be enough to change it. You understand, of course, that a breath is a breath, and a flower is a flower. That, having bloomed, the petals will one day fall. Still you guard the next flower, and the next, for there is meaning in the moment of bloom. So you breathe. So potential spirals, like seeds floating on the wind. One breath. Barely a whisper. Nothing more than that. And for such a thing, the gift of infinity. Always, always, you look on with hope.
Obviously as opposed to Winnowing, there is Gardening. I believe this is the Traveler's POV, primarily because it's told in second person, which is typical for the Traveler. Also because of everything is says and how it ends. Like an opposite of the previous entry. What a banger to end the whole book with, both of these side by side. Again, probably new lore coming in the future, or maybe just for this book? These could honestly be grimoire-exclusive, but who knows. Much to think about, much to look forward to.
It's a really good grimoire. They all are honestly, if you can grab these physical books, I highly recommend them. This is one is really nice because it also has several entries that are otherwise locked to collector's editions and it comes with all of this new stuff as well. The illustrations are, as always, peak.
Hope y'all enjoy this, especially the new stuff.

Yo yo I got a question!
What does your process/workflow for creating comics look like? I’ve dabbled in making some myself but could never really get it right…especially the script. So what does yours look like? Any tips for laying out the panels and keeping people engaged with the story?
Howdy! I've broken down my process in this ask right here but I'll see what I can say say about paneling specifically that I didn't already say in there!
Hmm, well, I can certainly say that your biggest priority when setting up a layout for your panels is to make sure everything flows correctly. Make sure your eyes NATURALLY feel drawn to the correct next panel when you're going through it.
Here's an example of what not to do:
(Forgive me, I put this together super fast with a trackpad in photopea)
See, the thing about this, and why it sucks, is that your eyes don't know where to go next after that first panel. We (westerners at least) prioritize reading left-to-right, then go for up-to-down -- However, this creates a strange zig-zag for our eyes to follow. The flows all fucky wucky! No good! Clarity is the name of the game here, so keep yourself absolutely 100% aware of how easy it may be to figure out where to go next on a page. Now, that said:
This is literally just the same image flipped, but do you see how much easier it is to figure out where to go next? Left-to-right, and then up-to-down. EASY!
A final piece of advice (that I may have given before but I've forgotten) has nothing to do with paneling, but does have everything to do with scripting. This SERIOUSLY depends on if you're making a webcomic or comic or graphic novel, like do NOT do this unless you're doing a webcomic, but If you can get away with ending a page on either a joke or a cliffhanger, do it. You WILL keep people from forgetting about the story and moving on. Make sure they need to see what's coming next OR give em a good enough laugh to stick your comic in their heads for a while.
Really though, the true trick to keeping people engaged with your story is consistency. Have a schedule and stick with it (I'm bad at this but at least I post ONLY on Thursdays now and try to not take more than two weeks on a page). If people have to keep guessing when your next upload happens, they're going to lose interest fast. Give your readers a fair enough chance to stay engaged by being reliable -- And if you do end up slipping up with your scheduling, do be sure to tell people when you'll be back.
It's absolutely your project, so you set your own schedule! But people get busy, so absolutely keep that in mind!
That's all I can think of at the moment! I hope this was helpful to you!

MASTERLIST
They sat around the table, Simon sat on Y/N’s right and Price on her left. She was drained and didn't have the energy to do this. She looked over at Simon who looked nervous.
“Do you want me to tell them?”
“No I can do it.” He took a deep breath. “Just tryin to figure out where to start.”
After taking a moment he looked at Soap, Gaz and Price. When he looked over at Y/N she was biting her thumbnail with a look of deep concern on her face. That’s when he realised that he had been so caught up on how telling the team would affect him and his peace he momentarily forgot that by exposing all of this, she was being put in a place of vulnerability too.
“I need to tell you a bit of background first and it won’t be short.This farm, our home. It’s Y/N’s family home. She grew up here. Her dad was a military man and growing up all she ever wanted to do was follow in his footsteps. So when she enlisted she worked damn hard to do just that. She ended up with top marks in both her physical and written exams. She excelled and joined an elite Canadian task force. After being with them for a bit she was chosen for the Specialized Snipper Program in the UK, and that’s where we met.”
He took a moment to look at her to make sure she was ok, and then continued.
“I was a weird, intense angry loner that was hyper focused on training and being top of the program. She was the only female and had the same goal and intensity. No one spoke to either of us, so we started working together. We challenged each other and would argue over who was better. I wasn’t there to make friends but I started not minding being around her.”
He saw Y/N smile at that and then continued.
“At Christmas we all got leave and when Y/N found out I had nowhere to go she decided I was coming home with her. She didn’t even ask me, she just walked into my room, handed me a plane ticket and told me to be ready in an hour. Deciding whatever she had planned had to be better than staying on base, I obeyed.”
He looked up at the guys now.
“I don’t exactly talk about it but I had a fucked up childhood. Real traumatic shit. So when we got here and the first thing Momma Lynn did was hug me, I uh.. I was shocked. In my experience parents don’t hug. But instead of backing off when she felt my tension she just gave me a quick squeeze and then pulled back, looked in my eyes and gave me a kind smile.”
Y/N reached over and squeezed his hand.
"Y/N has four sisters so the house was busy and loud.” He chucked at that. “I remember walking into the living room and all the girls were playing a board game at the dining room table and they were bickering and yelling at each other one moment and then next laughing loudly. Her dad was sitting on the couch reading a book. I looked at him and asked him if all the noise bothered him. He looked at me and then the girls and smiled. He said that no it didn’t bother him, in fact it was his favourite sound in the world.”
Y/N reached up and wiped a tear that was rolling down her face.
“Again I’d never experienced anything like this before. Even on Christmas morning I sat back and watched as they all opened presents for each other, just enjoying the moment. Then Momma Lynn handed me some gifts with a smile. I’d never gotten a Christmas gift before, I just stared at them, and I’ll admit I almost didn’t want to open them, instead I wanted to tuck them away forever, charish them.
Y/N saw me and sat beside me, she grabbed my hand and squeezed it before encouraging me to open them. I expected something generic like a box of chocolates and some socks but it wouldn’t have mattered what it was, I would’ve loved it regardless. Instead I opened the first gift and it was an artbook and some really nice drawing pencils. Momma Lynn was watching and she explained that Y/N had told them that I like to doodle all the time and that I was really good.
The next gift I opened was a nice wooden box with my last name etched on the top and inside was a high end gun maintenance kit. When I looked up her dad just looked at me and explained he’d gotten one from his father when he joined up and he’d done the same for Y/N. I actually got a bit emotional and had to pretend like I had to use the washroom so I could gather myself.
It was the best Christmas I had ever had in my life. When we were leaving Momma Lynn took me aside and made me promise to come home with Y/N the next holiday we had leave and of course I agreed. After that, I started wearing the mask, because I had something I cared about.”
Simon looked up and saw everyone looking at him intently, listening to his every word.
“For the next year, anytime we got leave I came home with Y/N and by the following Christmas, Momma Lynn and Y/N’s dad sat me down. They told me that they wanted me to be a member of their family. They told me that they thought of me as one of their kids since the first Christmas and they wanted me to feel the same. I actually cried openly for the first time in years. I had a family. They’d even set up a bedroom for me, said I could come and go as I pleased but hoped it was more coming than going. The girls all felt the same and so that was the day I gained a mom, a dad and five sisters. It wasn’t legally done but that didn’t matter to any of us.
Then something unexpected happened. I fell in love. We both fought it for a long time. I didn’t want to jeopardise what I had and even though it killed me, I refused to risk it. It wasn’t until Mom and dad sat me down one day. They told me that nothing I could ever do would ever change the fact that I was their son. She gave me her grandma’s ring and both gave their blessing. So five years ago, I married Y/N’s sister Ava. Y/N was my ‘best woman’, we had the wedding in the yard and it was the happiest moment of my life. That was until this past April when Ava gave birth to our daughter Clara.”
He glanced around the table and saw tears in not only Y/N’s eyes but Soaps as well though he quickly wiped them away.
“Something you should know is Y/N had been asked to join the 141 before I was. Kate had approached her because she’d been doing work for her and knew how good of an agent she was. Then Price approached me. We discussed it and she offered to back out, let me have the team. I wanted to work with her again and knew she deserved a spot on this team though. So I told her if we kept our relationship with each other a secret, if we pretended we didn’t know each other to protect the family then we could be on the same team. She hated the idea of keeping secrets but agreed.
There are several reasons why I didn’t tell you, and I didn’t let Y/N. The first being that this family, my family, is more important to me than anything in the world and I would die before ever letting anything happen to them. We make a lot of enemies out there and I keep them protected by keeping my mouth shut. The second reason is that when I have this mask on, I’m Ghost. I do what needs to be done and get as dirty as I need too. But when I’m here, the mask comes off and I’m Simon. Sharing that’s hard for me. It’s a trust that I have to build and makes me feel incredibly vulnerable. You’ve only ever seen me as Ghost and I wasn’t ready to share this side of me with you at the time.”
“Are you ready now?” Soap asked
“I am. I’d been thinking about it before I found out that we were coming here. Y/N had told me she wanted to tell John the night we blew up the warehouse, before things went to shit. I’d come to the conclusion that it was time.”
John looked over at Y/N sadly. God he fucked this up.
“So you and Y/N aren’t married with children.” Gaz confirmed
“No Gaz, we're not married with children. We do love each other though, just in a sibling way instead of romantic way.” Y/N shrugged
“Never said I loved you.” Simon teased beside her
“You do all the time you softy.”
“Ok but I still don’t get all the secrecy behind Y/N and her background.” Soap said confused.
“Well that is another thing I suppose.” Simon looked at Y/N and she nodded.
He got up and walked over to a painting on the wall, pulled it forward revealing a safe. Typing in the number he opened the safe door and pulled out a file, walked over and placed it on the table.
Y/N ran her finger over the top of the file and frowned.
“I know at this point it doesn’t matter much anymore but this is my full file, no holds bar. The reason everything is redacted is because of our dad. Like Simon said, he was a military man. The issue is that he is a very famous man in the military community. His call sign was Phantom 1.”
“Holy shit, your da is Phantom 1!” Soap exclaimed.
“I don’t understand, who is Phantom 1?” Gaz asked
“He was an insanely efficient agent ‘n’ a fuckin amazin sniper. He wis sae weel known in the community that when he died last year, they had tae have two funerals. One fur his folk and one for a' th’ military personnel that wanted tae attend. They even streamed it tae bases a’ over the world. His identity was sae weel hidden that his folk had tae wear veils ‘n’ masks to his funeral! He’s a legend.”
Soap looked up at Y/N then realised what he just said.
“Oh shit love, I’m sorra.”
“It’s fine.”
But she felt a lump form in her throat. She looked over at Simon and he squeezed her hand.
“I’ll take it from here. As Soap said, our da was good at what he did, but with that brought enemies. Hence our super secret, super protected ‘farm’. There are cameras everywhere, the walls behind the hedges have motion and weight sensors, there’s a lock down procedure for the house. It’s how Y/N grew up. So when she joined up they knew that if anyone found out that Y/N was his daughter there was a chance that she would be used as leverage to coax him out of retirement or to just get plain old revenge. So they scrapped any connection to her dad and that included Canada. Hence the redacted file.”
Y/N looked up at the team and sighed.
“I’m going to ask that even though I’m probably not going to be on the team after this, to protect this information even after I leave? Even though he’s gone we still don’t want this information leaked.”
“Can we talk about that please Y/N?” John asked
“Not right now. I’m emotionally and physically exhausted. I also don’t think any of us are in the right mindset at this moment to discuss. So let’s table it for now. I’m 10 feet away from my momma and I just want to get up there.”
They all nodded and she gave them a soft smile.
“Si rules?”
“Yeah ok. I guess now that we’ve explained the situation I’ll get into rules and all that fun stuff. Like any other house, be polite, try and limit swearing especially around the kids.”
“Though they are used to it. Uncle Simon has a potty mouth and has to put a loonie in the jar every time he swears” Y/N added and the group laughed
“They’ll hold you to that too. The money goes to them so they’ll call you out every chance they get. Little buggers.”
“What ta hell is a loonie?” Soap asked and Simon chucked
“A dollar. It’s a coin. I have a bucket of them in my apartment, remind me to give you some. Anyways it’s a free roam house, the kitchen is open, nothing’s really off limits. The biggest rules are no weapons on person. Don’t worry there are stashes all over the house, we just don’t want the kids seeing a gun peeking out from behind your shirt or god forbid one of them getting their hands on one.”
“How many kids are there here?” Gaz frowned
“Well our sister Charlie has two, a boy named Ky who just turned eighteen and a girl named Meadow who just turned fourteen. Then our sister Brooke has twin girls that are five, Freya and Idun, we call her Edie. Those are the ones you have to watch out for. Then me and Ava have Clara that’s eight months. Y/N and Ems are child free.”
“And they all live here?”
“No, but they’ve been told to come here for protection. Ava and I live here. Dad converted two rooms in the basement into a small apartment for us. Y/N lives here too, and has a room in the basement as well. Then Momma Lynn obviously and recently our Grandma moved in so mom could take care of her.”
“Which ones are single?” Soap asked with a smirk
“Johnny I swear to god if you even look at one of my sisters I’ll rip your dick off.” Simon growled.
Beside him though Y/N looked at Soap and mouthed Emma and Charlie. Then smiled and winked at him.
“Alright, the last rule’s the most important. We don’t talk about work. Ever. So no chatting about past missions, injuries, guns, no call signs, none of that. If we need to talk about anything we come down here.”
Everyone nodded in agreement
“So that’s it. We’ll go in the room next door, it has lockers for all of us so anything that doesn’t fit in that standard is put in the locker. Laswell also sent over some stuff for us to make us comfortable and it’s been placed in your locker. Any questions before we call it?”
Everyone shook their heads and as Simon stood up, Soap and Gaz followed suit and they headed out of the room with the exception of John and Y/N. She picked her file up off the table and held it out to him.
“You can read it if you want. I’m not hiding anything anymore. All my merit is listed out for you.”
He looked at the file and then took it from her hand.
“Y/N, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry for all of it.”
“I know. Me too. But what’s done is done and even though you’re sorry it doesn’t erase the things you said, or what you’ve done. We’ve got to move forward, it’s just not the way I thought we were going too or how it would look.”
“Is there anything I can say to fix this? You said you love me and I need to tell you…”
“John, stop. It’s too late. And anything you say at this point just seems disingenuous. Like you’re only saying what you think I want to hear to fix this. It’s over, we have to accept that.”
She left the room and John felt his heart break. He placed the file on the table and followed her out of the room.

Going overboard, 1: Memento Mori
Okay, so first the prologue, and now the first chapter. As I've said before, not all chapters include a Josh-interactions because of accuracy to the game, so you'll just have to live with it. If you haven't read the Prologue, go to my profile, then the masterlist, Josh Washington. You'll find it there. Get ready for tomorrow!
❀--✽--❀--✽--❀--✽--❀--✽--❀--✽--❀--✽--❀--✽--❀--✽--❀--✽--❀
Chapter 1: Memento Mori
After what happened up on the mountain last year, Josh didn’t stay in touch. At first we all tried to talk to him, help him, but we gave up one after another. He talked with Sam a lot. I think she did the most she could until he cut contact. I didn’t want to put too much on him, and we all were in grief as well, so it probably was the best solution.
Sam and I had regular coffees. It helped us both. We shared stories about them, and she told me about everything which happened that night. The prank wasn’t about me, nor Josh. Not even Beth, but she still had to suffer the consequences. Poor Beth, and poor Hannah. We all knew she had a thing for Mike, but setting her up like that was not okay. I now despised them all, Jessica, Emily, Mike, Matt, Ashley. Matt was such a sweet guy, I couldn’t imagine him standing there with a camera, recording everything. For me though, Ashley hurt the most. I loved her, I truly did, but I cut contact quickly after I got to know about the evening. She sent me a bunch of texts, begging me to talk to her. She was sorry, she was drunk, caught up in the moment, and everyone was doing it so she felt like she had to. She never knew that the aftermath would be as bloody as it did. I still didn’t text her back.
A month before the anniversary of their disappearance, Sam got a video message from Josh. He invited her up to the cabin again, stating that this would be a way to honour their memory, and relive the experience, but with a good ending. There would be booze, partying and just making new memories. Based on the video, it seemed like he asked everyone in the old group. Everyone except me. I felt hurt. Betrayed in a way. I was one of the few he talked to, cried to. Our relationship didn’t evolve after the event, but I was still there for him, trying to comfort him. Sam told me that I should come with her, but I declined. If he didn’t want me there, it was okay. She couldn’t understand why, but she kept being insistent, urging me to give it a chance. I didn’t have to be there the whole time, and if I wanted to, I could leave the very next day since the bus went through the area once every day.
It would be good to talk to Josh, maybe even if he didn’t want to. I was selfish, I knew that, but I had to see him. I wanted to see how he was doing, how he was feeling. This also made me think of Chris. He would probably be there, and I hadn’t kept in touch with him either. I felt bad, but at the same time, we weren’t that close. I knew that he still hung out with Ashley sometimes, and maybe that made me a bit afraid. Maybe she would try to contact me through him? Maybe I wasn’t just selfish. Ashley also needed to talk. Talk to me, clear the air. I would let her. I finally agreed to come with Sam up to the cabin.
***
The bus is empty, except for Sam and I of course. She didn’t pack much, and I didn’t either. I figured that I wouldn’t stay long. I just needed to talk to people, get some weights off my shoulders. The radio is playing, and no surprise, it’s about Beth and Hannah. I hold my composure, trying not to cry. The trip is long, and I end up sleeping on her shoulder for a good amount of it. Sam is watching something on her phone, but I don’t peek. I simply look out the window. There is an eerie feeling to these mountains. I felt the same last year, but this time it feels stronger. The black trees are covered in snow, untouched by animals.
Finally we reach our stop. The sign says “Blackwood Pines” and hadn’t it been for last year's events, I would still love the name. Being here for the first time felt magical, straight out of Narnia, joining a winter wonderland of mystery. Now, I feel nervous. The air isn’t as fresh, the ground not as hard and the snow was too white. Instead of smelling winter, I smell something musk, like a dead animal or rotten meat. I look over at Sam, and I think she notices too.
We start walking in silence, through the gate and up the trail. As we walk, she stops.
“Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?” I whisper, getting anxious. Maybe it’s a wild animal, a wolf or a bear.
“Hello!?” Sam shouts, and my eyes widen. Why would she do that, what if the animal looks at us as a threat now. I look around, expecting something to pop out, but it’s silent.
“Sorry, I probably just thought I heard something,” she says, continuing walking. She notices my tenseness.
“Are you okay?”
“No, absolutely not” I state, looking around again.
“Hey I get it, this is weird, but we’re doing this for Josh right,” she starts, taking my hand, stopping me.
“I hate to say it, but you need to relax. Nothing bad is going to happen, and people are just being friendly”
“I know, I know. I just can’t shake off this feeling that there’s something here”
“It’s because of last year. We’re all still thinking about it, so we know how you’re feeling”
I look up at her. She’s right, I’m not alone in this, and we’ve both been there for each other the whole year.
“Yeah, thanks for the talk. It’s just… well, weird”
“It is, but I think this is good for you. This trip could be a way for you to let go, get some closure. They both would’ve wanted that for you” she says, before pulling me into a hug. I breathe, and some of the tension lifts. Thank God I still have Sam. When we pull away she looks at me, smiling. I smile back, before looking behind her. My mouth opens, eyes widen and my breath hitches. I grab her hand, holding hard.
“S-Sam, c-c-careful. Stand s-s-till,” I whisper. She holds her breath while searching my face for answers.
“Boo!” I shout, punching her with both my hands. She screeches, jumps and I feel her pulse in her hand.
“Got you” I laugh, while she’s still trying to compose herself.
“Fucking asshole” she says. I can’t stop laughing.
“You know, you’re going to ‘wolf wolf’ me.”
“I can live with that” I continue laughing, before starting to walk again, her following after.
“I’m joking, that was out of line, sorry” I say after a while.
“At least you got to see my ‘frozen’ face”
“Yeah that’s why I laughed”
We reach the gate, and a piece of paper is pinned on the lock.
“The gate’s busted, climb over -Chris”
“I guess we have to climb,” I state, looking at the gate. There are big spikes on the top of the gate, so I look over at the side. It’s a stone wall.
“Right up my alley” Sam says enthusiastically. Of course it is.
“I’ll give you a lift first if you take my bag” she says, already taking off her bag.
“Fine, just don’t throw me over with those strong climber-arms of yours” I reply, taking her bag and making my way to the wall. She puts out her hands and I grab somewhere safe on the wall. She helps me get up, and I jump down the other side, looking up, waiting for her.
“Gosh, the stones are cold” she complains, finally getting to the top.
“Should’ve worn gloves” I smile, showing off my red-covered hands in a theatrical manner. She laughs before hopping down. I give her backpack back, and we continue up.
When we finally arrive at the cable car station, the place seems empty. I see a couple of cars in the parking lot, but don’t want to check who they belong to. One of them must be Josh’s. I walk up to the bench, noticing a backpack and a ringing phone. My curiosity is immense, but I don’t touch it. Sam notices who’s bag it is.
“Hey Chris!” she yells, looking around for him.
“Hey guys” he answers, and we both turn around. He seems older, more harsh than the year before, but I don’t comment on it.
“How are you ladies?”
“Well, as you can expect” Sam answers, still smiling. I smile as well, keeping the mood light. I don’t notice how much I’ve missed him before seeing him now. Something in me breaks a little.
“Oh, so, I found something kind of amazing”
“What?”
“I’m not gonna tell you got to see for yourself” he smiles, grabbing his backpack and leading us around the house. We get to the other side where we’re met with a shooting range. Barrels and bottles stacked for hitting, as well as bags hanging from the trees.
“Ta-da! Pretty rad right?” Chris exclaims, loving this a bit too much. Sam forces a smile, guns are not a source of happiness for a pacifist.
“A gun range on the bottom of a ski lodge” I comment. “How… nordic?”
Chris picks up a gun before looking at me.
“Well, have you met Josh’s dad?”
“Yeah”
“Then we shouldn’t be surprised” he says before turning and aiming the gun. I hold my breath, not comfortable with this funny clumsy guy holding a death-weapon. He shoots the bags and one of the cans. I’m kind of impressed.
“Nice shootin Tex” Sam teases, not impressed. I guess it would take something better than shooting to impress her. She fakes an annoyed look before turning my way.
“Wanna try?”
“You know what, sure. It’s been a while” I say before taking the gun from him, taking off my backpack and laying it beside me.
“You’ve done this before?”
“Josh has taken me shooting several times, not hunting though, luckily” I smile, remembering how close we felt the first time he showed me how to use it.
“I bet that’s not the only thing you two have done” he comments, a smirk on his lips.
“Haha, funny guy” I tease back. Sam holds her laughter. I shoot a couple of bags, stopping when a squirrel jumps on one of the barrels.
“I guess that’s our sign to start going to the lodge,” I say, leaving the gun and grabbing my bag.
“Jeez, I wish Josh would take me shooting,” Chris says, and I smile.
The cable car is coming, and Sam makes her way over there. I use the opportunity to grab ahold of him.
“Hey Chris, about this year-” I start, but he holds a finger up, signalling for me to stop.
“I get it, if I were in your shoes I would’ve done the same”
“Really?”
“Yeah, it’s weird being back, but I’ve been wanting to clear up everything. We should keep in contact, even though you don’t want to talk to Ashley, I understand”
“When did you become such an understanding gentleman,” I tease, punching his arm and start walking. He lifts his arms in the air.
“Haven’t I always been?” And I laugh at him.
We all get in the cable car, and it starts moving up. Chris starts talking about how he and Josh met, and I pay close attention. I’ve only heard this story from Josh, and I love getting the different story-perspectives.
***
We arrive at the top, I stand and try to open the door. It will not open.
“Uh, guys, I can’t get the door open.” Chris tries, but can’t manage either. His response is to smack the window.
“Ahh, what the hell!” I hear someone say. Jessica. I compose myself.
“Jess! Over here, open the door!” Chris shouts. I see her through the window, and I bite my lips from having to look put together. Don’t look like a bitch, don’t look like a bitch, don’t look like you have anything against this piece of scum. I keep chanting in my head.
She opens the door, and we all thank her. As we walk out, Chris starts whining.
“Oh my god. I thought we were goners. Another ten minutes in there and I would’ve chewed off my own leg.”
“Aw, sick Chris,” Sam comments.
“Look, I’ve got a lot of meat on my bones. This is all muscle down there.”
Sam rolls her eyes. “Yeah riiiiiight”
“Keep telling yourself that Chris,” I add, clapping him on the shoulder as I walk past him. He lowers his voice to a whisper.
“Well, we all know who’s bone you want to jump…”
I turn around, mouth agape and eyes threatening. He immediately puts his hands up in defence, walking backwards two paces.
“Just jokes, just jokes” says, voice cracking.
“Dickhead”
“Notice how I’m not going to make another joke about that,” he answers. I quickly make a snowball and throw it at him, hitting his chest. Sam places herself between us, arms tense as if waiting for someone to attack.
Chris uses this opportunity to snatch whatever Jess is holding.
“Well, well, well… What do we have here?”
“Chris” Sam starts. He opens it, a surprised look on his face.
“My goodness! Seems like someone has a crush on our good friend and dear class president Michael Munroe.” Shit. That’s not good.
“Chris,” I threaten.
“And what kind of sizzling erotica might our Jessica be capable of imagining, I wonder…”
Before he’s able to see more, Jess quickly snatches the item back.
“If you must know-” she starts.
“Mike and I are together now.” We all look at each other.
“Drama,” Chris answers.
“No, pretty cut clean actually. Em’s out, I’m in,” she explains. I look over at Sam. She doesn’t know what to say. Luckily, Chris breaks the awkwardness.
“Well, we should keep going”
“You go, I’ll be waiting here for a bit”
“Waiting for Mike?”
“Just go”
We oblige, walking further and leaving her behind. The trail is quite big and visible. It’s comfortable to walk on. As we turn a corner, I see the cabin. The cabin where Josh is, where Ashley is probably waiting. The cabin which was the last place two of our best friends were seen alive one year ago.

Y'all, when it comes to the announcement about the games, I really don't think this is just the end of Obey Me. In fact, I think they're gonna come out with a third game. What they're gonna be doing, it's the same thing they did with the original game when Nightbringer came out, essentially, but this time they're straight up announcing it. And they even said themselves, it's not the end of the story, and as some have pointed out, yes, they did just start the date feature. They're most likely to be starting a third game with a continuation of the storyline, just like they did before. I get being upset, I don't want the story to end, either, but I genuinely think they're planning to transition to another game after this, so I think maybe we should all give them a chance to show us what they have planned at the very least <333
Something I'd also like to add, since I've re-read the announcement a few times. If they were just straight up shutting down all games and not working on other apps, they would've just said "there will be no more Obey me apps". However, they specifically said, multiple times, that only Obey Me! + Obey Me! Nightbringer will stop receiving updates.
And yeah, they'll be taking some time to do more in-person events, and we might have to wait a little bit for more virtual/online stuff or whatever, but they never said there wouldn't be new games after this point

CAUTION: This post contains spoilers from Mario and Luigi: Brothership. If you haven’t beaten the game yet, don’t read beyond the cut
—
I feel like not enough people have talked about the symbolism and themes within Brothership
I noticed it as I played. It unfurled before me… and I couldn’t help but be absolutely impressed by it. This is by far the most in depth M&L story I’ve ever seen
I would also like to mention that this is based on my own personal interpretations/opnions
~~~
— Theming and Symbolism in Characters and the World —
Most M&L games have a theme to the world we visit, this is most noticeable in Superstar Saga and Dream Team. Superstar Saga’s theme is humor and laughter, while Dream Team’s is sleep.
Both games have their own original species to match with these themes. The Beanish and Pi’illos. There’s not much to it other than that. There isn’t any reason for why these peoples were chosen, outside of theming
Brothership feels the same way for a time. It doesn’t seem like there’s a reason for why the Concordians are all cords or outlets outside of theming… but there’s more to it
Late into the story, Bonds become more prevalent in the plot. Yes, it’s a pun, but it’s also symbolic. Bonds refer to relationships between characters, Mario and Luigi included. Connections (also a pun) are part of this symbolism as well
Connections and Bonds are generally the same thing. And they both add a symbolic reason as to why the people behind Brothership chose for the Concordians to be plugs or outlets or cords
Not only is it theming, it’s also symbolism
~~~
— The Power of Friendship, but cooler —
“The Power of Friendship” is a trope that’s used a lot in shows, generally being used for younger audiences. The trope has been clowned on due to how corny it can be
I will not deny that Brothership is in the same boat… but what makes it feel unique is that the “power of friendship” trope, in this game’s instance, has symbolism
As mentioned before, Bonds are symbolic of relationships between characters. This makes the story feel nowhere near as corny or cheesy (Imo) as it would if it *didn’t* have this symbolism
~~~
— In-depth characters… the Bros. included —
Most M&L games don’t go too far in depth with their characters. Not that they always need to… but character depth is always welcome
Brothership goes far beyond what any game in the series has done, and gives most of the main cast some level of depth. They were given more to enhance their characters, and make them more interesting
This also goes back to Bonds, which also allow for more interesting characters. Willma and her family, Chilliam and Burnadette, Connie and Cozette, Junior and Buddy, and the IDLE Crew (plus Peach and Starlow) are all notable examples… and so are the Bros
M&L’s whole gimmick is fixating on the Bros. and their brotherly bond. It isn’t just the original characters that are tied into the story by Bonds, it’s also Mario and Luigi. Part of the whole plot is their powerful bond, and how easily they are able connect other Bonds
~~~
— An Unexpected, yet welcome, Turn of Events —
This isn’t necessarily a theme, but something I thought was really cool and eye-opening
Something that I didn’t expect to do was visit the Extension Corps when gathering Bonds… because why would you? Why would you go back to the people who wanted you gone and ask for their Bond Power? Why would the plot have you do that?
The Great Conductor says that Bonds don’t just come from good people… he’s right. It’s not just good guys who have bonds. It was a point in the story I didn’t expect at all, but gladly welcomed. It’s honestly very profound and bold to me
When we go back to the Extension Corps, we see them grow as characters. After the Bros. walloped them, they went back to Slippenglide and reformed, being tired of doing evil
Never did I expect them to have any ounce of depth…. But they do, and it’s great :)
~~~
— A Combo of Nature and Tech —
This is more on the smaller side, but I thought it was cool
Brothership combines tech (plugs, outlets) with nature (plants, trees), two things that don’t necessarily go together, but makes them compatible. They aren’t always used in positive ways either
Connie and Cozette utilize nature in a positive and healthy way, protecting and caring for the Uni-Tree, while Reclusa does the opposite
Reclusa summons the flowers that stick onto people’s heads and creates their own isolated paradise. He creates the Soli-Tree. I may be over analyzing this, but I like to think this ties into real life, in a way
Nature, or specifically plant growth, can be both positive and negative. Not all plants are good for organic life, some are harmful or deadly, much like the Doom Blooms or Weeping Reclusa
—
This isn’t really too organized, but I just really wanted to discuss all of this and get it out of my head
Thank you for coming to my silly Ted-Talk :)
I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I think what saddens me the most is that shadow doesn’t really seem to like adventuring. Sonic and shadow are similar in that they both go fast and go on a lot of the same adventures, and even though adventures just like, happen to sonic he kinda starts them, or at least seems to enjoy them after all “what you see is what you get, just a guy who loves adventure”. He didn’t choose to have chaos unleashed, turn into a werewolf or have eggman make a war, and I’m sure there’s moments (like metal virus and frontiers) where he’d rather that all not have happened, but overall he seems to have fun doing all of this stuff, it’s his hobby, even in the twitter takeovers most of the time when a question about what they is asked he basically just says running and adventuring.
Meanwhile shadow just kinda has that stuff happen to him, his memories are altered and someone wants him to destroy the world, he has amnesia (also metal sonic is mad and making it everyone’s problem), he has amnesia (also someone’s trying to make him destroy the world again), and whatever was going on in 06. He never seemed to relish in the adventure like sonic did, he only really seemed to fight when he had too. (Okay in some games he seemed like he wanted to kill sonic??? (og generations) or just fight sonic for little reason (not to mention what happened to infinite) but it feels like they’re kinda fixing that and it’s pretty out of character for him). For sonic danger is a challenge, it’s fun. For shadow it’s just something happening to him, yeah he might get a little smug about it, but “if the world chooses to become my enemy I will fight like I always have” shadow wouldn’t be fighting if he didn’t have someone trying to make him destroy the world every two seconds-
It would also make sense shadow doesn’t seem to enjoy danger like sonic does, he knows what its likes being attacked and it going wrong (Maria’s death). And to contrast sonic in the twitter takeovers whenever he’s asked about hobbies he says he wants to start a cat orphanage, or that he reads books and plays chess, volunteers at soup kitchens, taking care of his bike, also won’t shut up about flowers. All pretty low stakes things! (He even mentions multiple times in the newest twitter takeovers that he doesn’t fight for fun, only when needed. Now that could just be him not wanting to admit he’s having fun with sonic, because there is a lot of moments we’re he fights with sonic for no reason other then fun, but there’s still probably some truth in there. Who knows maybe we just think that because we always see it from Sonic’s side, and since sonic likes it we assume shadow does too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) And talking to Maria in sh generations it makes so much sense! She seems frightened at the concept of shadow attacking black doom, she’s not scared to talk back to him when he’s being rude to shadow, but she seems surprised that it’s happening, surprised that shadow is so “bold and confident” when shadow fights. Yeah she told him to protect everyone on earth but I don’t think she had shadow stopping earth ending situations in mind. They play chess and go to school, when Maria talks of going back to earth she mentions having food and meeting her family. That was their plan. She didn’t think shadow would have to stop gods and war, she thought he was going to met friends and eat good food! And just help out in small ways when he can.
Going back to Maria’s death we know shadow was powerful at that time, not as much as he is now, but he was frozen for those 50 years (no time to train) which means he was just as strong then as he was in sonic adventure 2 (makes sense he’s the ultimate lifeform). If shadow was back there he would’ve fought the G.U.N agents, but taking in the Maria dialog (“bold and  confident”) and how their life was on the ark he wasn’t used to fighting. The MRI
A man goes for an MRI, but he doesn't come back the same way.
David McDowell was your average 49 year old male.He was married to a lovely woman named Rachel. They had been married for 20 years now, and things were going well, but still could be better. They had two lovely kids, the oldest Amanda was in her first year in college, and their youngest daughter, Emma, who was a mini clone of Rachel,was at home with them when not in kindergarten.
Unfortunately, David was having health issues. Headaches, dizziness, even sensitivity to light started about a month ago .He started seeing a neurologist Dr. Marcus Mitchel who suggested he get an MRI done at the local hospital that his practice was in.
On the morning of his MRI, his lovely wife came to him."You're sure you don't want me to come with you?" Rachel asked, her deep brown eyes filled with concern as she clutched her husband's hand.
"I'll be fine, sweetie," David reassured her with a forced smile, his thumb stroking the back of her palm. "It's just an MRI. Nothing to worry about. Besides, you know how much I hate making you miss work for these appointments."He kissed her on the cheek and gave their daughter, Emma, a gentle pat on the back. "You go have a nice day at school, and be good for your mother later. I love you both?" David then kissed his wife and left, grabbing the keys to the minivan. He hopped in his minivan and started the trek on his way to the hospital.
The drive to the hospital was quiet, the usual traffic noise a stark contrast to the silence in the vehicle.He was happy that Rachel had offered to accompany him, but David knew she had a big presentation at work, so he insisted on going alone. He pulled into the hospital's parking garage and took the ticket from the machine, feeling a slight tremble in his hand. It had been years since his last MRI, and the thought of being in that confined space was never a comforting one.
Once inside, David asked an older security guard how to get to the neurology department.The guard told him to follow the sterile smell of antiseptic and the hum of machinery echoing in the hallways. David thanked him and made his way down the hall. He approached the receptionist, who looked up from her computer with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. She was older than David, with graying hair, and deep, dark, blue eyes. "David McDowell?" she asked, scanning her list. "Yes," he replied, handing over his driver's license and insurance cards. She took them and began the registration process, her fingers clacking away at the keyboard. After she was done processing David, he was sent back out to the waiting room.
As he waited, David couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in his stomach. The waiting room was filled with the usual assortment of patients, some reading magazines, others staring at the floor ,and of course the one's always on their cell phones playing some kind of game or watching a website. A TV played a muted soap opera, the subtitles flashing in time with the actors' exaggerated expressions. The doctor's office had always been a place of dread for him, but this time it felt different. The air was heavier, charged with something he couldn't quite put his finger on.
Finally, a young long haired blond and very attractive nurse called his name and led him to the changing area. "You can leave your clothes and belongings in this locker," she said, pointing to a metal compartment with a combination lock. "Strip down to your underwear and put on these two gowns, one in the front and one in the back."
David nodded and did as instructed, feeling a strange vulnerability as he stripped down to his boxers. The nurse,whose name tag read Amanda, handed him the hospital garments, which were cold and slightly damp. He shivered as he put them on, his body feeling exposed despite the layers. She took his locker key and locked away his clothes, wallet and phone, giving him a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
"You can follow me," she said, leading him down a hallway lined with closed doors. David nodded, his mind racing. The walls felt like they were closing in, and the fluorescent lights above buzzed annoyingly in his ears. The nurse didn't seem to notice his discomfort, her steps quick and efficient as she led him to a room with a large, cylindrical machine. The MRI. There, a female technician took over, one with long brown hair and glasses.
“My name is Miranda. I'll be your technician.”she then continued "Just lie down on the table, and we'll get you all set up," she instructed, her voice distant and professional.
David did as he was told, the coolness of the tabletop sending a shiver down his spine. The technician slid a plastic cushion under his head and placed a pair of headphones over his ears. "These will help with the noise," she explained, her voice now muffled. "The MRI is going to take about 40 minutes. Try to stay as still as you can."
With a gentle push, she sent the table sliding into the machine. The space was smaller than he remembered, the walls seemingly closer. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. The headphones played a soothing melody, but it did little to ease the tension in his body. He closed his eyes and focused on the music, willing the time to pass quickly.
As the MRI began to whirl around him, David felt a strange sensation, like a warm current flowing through his veins. His headaches and dizziness from earlier faded away, replaced by a sudden lightness, as if gravity had lessened its hold on him. He thought it was just the relief of being off his feet, but then he noticed something peculiar. His skin felt smoother, his body more pliant. He tried to ignore it, attributing the changes to his nerves and the anticipation of the procedure's end.
The music grew louder in his ears, and a voice began to speak over it, calm and hypnotic. "You are relaxing," the voice intoned. "Your body is changing, adapting to a new form." David's eyes were closed, his heart hammering in his chest. He wasn't aware of anything happening to him. The voice from the headphones was insistent, soothing him into a state of calm.
As the minutes ticked by, the changes grew more pronounced unknown to David. His muscles softening and his frame becoming more delicate. His face grew fuller, his cheekbones more prominent, and his eyes... his eyes had changed color. They were no longer the familiar blue-gray but a deep, vibrant green. As he lay there, nice and comfortable long, silky hair started to sprout from his head to his shoulders. It was brown, not the graying blond he had seen in the mirror that morning.
The voice in the headphones grew more intimate, whispering sweet nothings and gentle suggestions that seemed to seep into his very soul. "You are becoming more beautiful with every moment," it crooned. "Your transformation is almost complete. You are no longer David McDowell. You are now a woman, a woman named Danielle Masters.You will be a very sexual woman. You will know how to give blowjobs and do cunnilingus.” The voice continued,”You are being created to be the perfect mate for Dr. Marcus. He is excited to meet the new you. After your transformation, you will drive your new vehicle to go visit him and become his lover.”
The words resonated within him, and David felt his identity slipping away like sand through his fingers. He could do nothing to resist. His mind grappled with the impossibility of it all, but his body was telling him a different story. He was now Danielle, and he could feel the soft curves of her breasts pressing against the fabric of the hospital gown. He felt a strange yearning, a longing for something he could not quite understand.
The MRI's mechanical noises grew louder, drowning out the voice in his headphones, and Danielle squeezed her eyes shut, trying to make sense of the tumultuous emotions that flooded her now feminine body. Her mind was a whirlwind of confusion and fear, but there was an underlying thread of something... something that felt almost like excitement. The machine's rhythmic humming seemed to match the pounding of her heart, which now felt like it was in the chest of someone else entirely.
The technician's voice called out over the intercom, "Okay, Danielle, we're almost done. Just hold still for a few more minutes."
Danielle's eyes shot open in shock. The voice had called her Danielle. The name echoed in his transformed mind, and she realized that her thoughts had shifted to the feminine pronoun. The changes were real. The person in the machine was no longer David. The panic grew to a crescendo, and he wanted to scream, to protest, but the sound that came out was a soft, feminine gasp. The realization hit him like a wave, and he felt a strange mix of horror and fascination at his new reality.
The MRI's cacophony grew louder still, and Danielle could feel his body continuing to morph. His skin grew more sensitive, his hips widened, and his legs grew longer, the hair on them now soft and fine. The gowns clung to his new figure, and he felt a sudden, intense awareness of his surroundings. The cool air of the room brushed against his skin, and the scent of antiseptic grew stronger, almost sweet.
When the MRI finally stopped the technician slid the table out of the machine. "Great, Danielle," she said, her tone unchanged. "You can sit up now." The technician then left the room.
Danielle, still trying to process the rapid transformation, did as she was told. He... no, she looked down at her body, taking in the unfamiliar curves and the softness of her now-smaller hands. She had become a stunning brunette with long brown hair and green eyes. Her legs were shapely and slender, and she could feel the softness of the gown brushing against them as she swung them over the side of the table.
Her thoughts grew more and more disjointed, but a new sensation began to take over. A warmth grew between her legs, and she realized with a start that she was becoming aroused. It was as if her body was responding to a primal instinct she had never felt before. The voice from the MRI echoed in her mind, whispering sweet nothings about her newfound beauty and her purpose as the doctor's lover.
Another nurse, a young, attractive brunette, came into the room with a smile. "How are you feeling, Danielle?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.
Danielle looked up at her, the fog in her mind momentarily lifting. The voice from the MRI had said she was beautiful, and now she saw the truth in those words reflected in the nurse's gaze. The thoughts that had been building in her mind, the ones she had tried so hard to push away, came flooding back. She felt a strange, insatiable hunger for the woman before her. The nurse's name tag read 'Samantha', and she, with the technician, seemed to be the only one who knew the truth of Danielle's transformation.
With a grace that surprised even her, Danielle slid off the table, her legs trembling slightly as she found her balance in this new form. She took a tentative step towards Samantha, the soft fabric of the hospital gowns swishing around her ankles. She felt a strange power in her movements, a seductive allure that seemed to be as much a part of her as her new breasts and narrow waist.
"Thank you," she murmured, her voice now a sultry purr. "Thank you for everything."
Samantha, the nurse, cocked an eyebrow, her smile frozen in place as she took in the sight before her. Danielle had moved closer, her eyes dark with desire. The transformation was complete, and the voice from the MRI had not just changed her body but her mind as well. The thoughts that had been planted grew like wildfire, and she couldn't help but act on them. She had become the doctor's lover, and she craved the touch of another.
Her knees hit the cold floor with a soft thud, and she reached for the hem of Samantha's scrub pants. The nurse gasped, her eyes widening, but she didn't pull away. Danielle could see the curiosity in her gaze, the hunger she hadn't noticed before. With trembling hands, she untied the drawstring, revealing a pair of simple, white cotton panties beneath. The fabric was already damp, and Danielle's heart raced with excitement.
"Thank you," she murmured again, her voice thick with need. She slid the fabric aside, exposing Samantha's pink, glistening folds. The scent of arousal filled the air, and Danielle felt a thrill of power. She had never felt like this before, never knew she could make someone else feel like this. She leaned in, her tongue darting out to taste the sweetness that awaited her.
Samantha's gasp turned into a moan as Danielle's tongue touched her clit, light as a feather at first, and then with increasing pressure. The nurse's thighs trembled, and she had to lean against the MRI for support. "What are you doing?" she whispered, her voice strained, but she didn't push Danielle away.
"I just thought this is what you would want after I came out," Danielle murmured, her eyes meeting Samantha's with a knowing look. The words were a heady mix of innocence and seduction, and Samantha found herself lost in the depths of the new woman's gaze. Her body responded on its own, her hips rocking slightly as Danielle's tongue danced over her most sensitive spot. The room around them faded away, leaving only the sound of their ragged breaths and the occasional beep of the machine.
Danielle's hands gripped Samantha's hips, pulling her closer as she explored the nurse's body with a hunger that was both surprising and exhilarating. Rachel's gentle touch was a distant memory, replaced by this insatiable need to give and receive pleasure. She felt a wetness growing between her own legs, the fabric of the gowns clinging to her new curves as her arousal grew.
Samantha's breath grew ragged, her eyes glazed with passion as she watched Danielle's beautiful, full lips tease and suck at her clit. The sensation was overwhelming, and she couldn't help but push down on the back of Danielle's head, urging her deeper. The MRI room was no longer cold and sterile; it had become a sanctuary of desire.
Danielle felt a thrill at Samantha's response, her own arousal building as she tasted the nurse's sweetness. Her movements grew bolder, her tongue flicking and circling with increasing speed. She could feel Samantha's muscles tensing, her moans growing louder. And then, with a sharp gasp, the nurse's body convulsed, and she came hard, her juices flooding Danielle's mouth.
With trembling hands, Samantha helped Danielle to her feet, her cheeks flushed with desire. "I... I don't know what came over me," she whispered, her voice hoarse.
Samantha simply smiled, a knowing smile that seemed to carry the weight of a thousand secrets. "It's okay," she said, her voice still breathless. "It's all part of the change."
With Samantha's shaky hands, they helped each other clean up, the nurse's eyes never leaving Danielle's transformed face. The MRI had done more than just reveal the workings of his... no, her body. It had changed the very fabric of her existence. As Samantha handed her the locker key, Danielle took it, feeling the cold metal slip into her delicate, new hands.
Her heart racing, Danielle returned to the dressing room, the echoes of their shared passion still resonating through her body. As she opened the locker, she found her clothes neatly folded, her purse exactly where she had left it. The sight of her dress, bra, and panties brought a rush of relief, a hint of normalcy in this bizarre situation. She slipped off the hospital gowns, her new, soft skin brushing against the cool air. The fabric of her underwear felt foreign yet familiar, as if it had been made just for her.
She took time to finally look at herself in the mirror, her breasts nice and full, her pussy shaved. She was gorgeous, and she couldn't wait to discover her body and what her new life would entail.
She then dressed, her movements were more graceful than she had ever known, her new body fitting into the clothing with an ease that seemed almost preordained. She pulled the dress over her head, feeling the fabric hug her curves in a way that clothes never had. Looking again into the mirror, she saw Danielle Masters staring back at her, the name that had been whispered into her mind now a stark reality. The ID in her purse confirmed it, a name she had never chosen but one that now felt as much a part of her as her new, emerald-green eyes.
With a deep breath, she stepped out into the hallway, her heels clicking against the cold tile floor. The security guard looked up, his eyes widening as they took in her transformed body. "Excuse me, miss, do you need a... a parking pass?" he stuttered, his gaze lingering on her chest, where her breasts swelled invitingly.
Danielle couldn't help but smile at his reaction, feeling a thrill of power at the way his eyes devoured her. "No, thank you," she replied sweetly, her voice dripping with a newfound femininity. "I already have one." She pulled the crumpled ticket from her purse and held it up for him to see, her fingers brushing over the soft fabric of her dress. "It's been taken care of."
The security guard nodded, his eyes still glued to her, unable to look away.With a final wink, Danielle turned and sashayed away, her hips swinging with a newfound allure. She walked through the hospital's bustling halls, her heart racing as she felt the eyes of every person she passed. The power of her femininity was intoxicating, and she reveled in the attention.
When she reached the parking garage, she was momentarily disoriented. The rows of cars stretched out before her, a sea of steel and glass. The minivan was nowhere in sight. Instead, her eyes fell upon a sleek red Mazda Miata, parked under a flickering light. A wave of confusion washed over her, followed by a sudden rush of memory. It was her car, the one her boyfriend had bought her for her birthday, a symbol of his love and their secret affair.
Her hand trembled as she reached into her purse and pulled out the key fob. She clicked the button, and the Miata's headlights flashed in response, beckoning her like a lover in the night. The leather seats were cool against her bare thighs as she slid in, the smell of him still lingering faintly. Danielle took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. David was a thing of the past now. She was Danielle, and she had a new life to live.
The engine roared to life, the vibration of the powerful engine sending a thrill through her. She had never driven a stick shift before, but somehow, it felt natural in this new body. The gears clicked into place as she shifted, the car responding to her touch as if it had been made for her. She pulled out of the parking spot and headed towards the exit, the tension in her shoulders gradually easing with each passing second.
Her thoughts were a jumble of emotions: fear, excitement, confusion, and a burning desire that consumed her. Rachel's love for her seemed a distant memory, replaced by the passion that surged through her veins at the thought of her boyfriend. Danielle knew she had to see him, to feel his arms around her, to make sense of this new reality. The city streets blurred by as she drove, the wind playing with her long brown hair.
When she arrived at his apartment, her heart raced with anticipation. She had never felt so alive, so... so female. The door swung open before she could knock, and there he was, Dr. Marcus, a 6 foot 4 black male in his late 40's. "Danielle?" he questioned his excitement evident.
"Hi," she breathed, her cheeks flushing a delicate pink. She stepped inside, the warmth of the room enveloping her in a comforting embrace. The doctor's eyes roved over her, taking in every inch of her transformed body. His gaze was intense, hungry, and for a moment, Danielle felt a thrill of fear. But then he stepped closer, his hand reaching out to trace the line of her jaw, and she knew that she was where she belonged.
The doctor's touch was gentle yet firm, sending electric currents through her body. "I've missed you," he murmured, pulling her into an embrace. The scent of his cologne, something she had never noticed before, now filled her nose, making her head swim with desire. Danielle melted into his arms, feeling the strength of his body against her own. She had never felt so small, so delicate, and it was a heady sensation.
As they kissed, Danielle felt herself falling into a whirlpool of emotions. Rachel's love was a fading memory, replaced by the heat and passion of Dr. Marcus's touch. His hands roamed her body, exploring every curve and angle, as if trying to memorize every inch of her new form. The voice from the MRI whispered in her ear, reminding her of her purpose, and she responded eagerly, her own hands sliding under his lab coat to caress the firm planes of his chest.
They stumbled into the living room, their kisses growing more urgent with each passing second. Danielle felt the couch at the back of her legs and pushed him down, straddling him as he lay back. The fabric of her dress hiked up, revealing the tops of her thighs, and Marcus's gaze grew darker with desire. She reached behind her to unzip the dress, letting it fall in a pool of silk around her. His eyes widened at the sight of her, his hands reaching up to cup her breasts, feeling the weight of them in his palms.
Their kisses grew deeper, their tongues dancing together as they explored each other's mouths. Danielle felt his arousal pressing against her, and she ground her hips into him, feeling his hardness through his pants. The doctor's hands roamed her body, his touch electric, making her skin tingle and her nipples peak. She reached for his zipper, her own breath coming in short gasps.
With a swift motion, she freed him, his huge erection springing forth, thick and demanding. She took him in her hand, marveling at the feel of him, so different from her own body. The head was hot and velvety, and she could feel the pulse of his desire as she stroked him gently. He groaned into her mouth, his hips bucking up to meet her hand. The power she had over him was exhilarating, and she knew that she wanted more.
Danielle slid down his body, her breasts brushing against his chest, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake. She took him into her mouth, her eyes never leaving his, and felt him stiffen even further at the warm, wet embrace. His hands tangled in her hair, guiding her as she took him deeper, her tongue swirling around his shaft. She could feel him getting closer to the edge, his breath coming in harsh pants, and she knew that she had him right where she wanted him.
Suddenly, she pulled away, leaving him gasping, his eyes glazed with passion. "Take me to your bed," she demanded, her voice firm yet soft. The doctor's eyes widened at her command, but he complied without a word. They stumbled into his bedroom, the air thick with desire. He pushed her down onto the bed, his body covering hers as he kissed her again, his hands exploring her new body with an urgency that was almost overwhelming.
Danielle could feel herself growing wet, her arousal coating her thighs and the fabric of her panties. She reached down and slid them off, her legs parting invitingly. Marcus looked down at her, his eyes dark with lust. "You're so beautiful," he murmured, his voice hoarse. He trailed kisses down her neck, her collarbone, and between her breasts, his tongue tracing the curve of her cleavage.
Her body arched up to meet his, her hips bucking against his, searching for release. He took his time, teasing her with his kisses and nips, driving her closer and closer to the edge. She could feel the heat building within her, the pressure growing unbearable. "Please," she gasped, her voice a desperate whimper.
He took mercy on her, his hand sliding between her legs to find her clit. He stroked her gently at first, the pad of his thumb circling the sensitive bud. Danielle's breath hitched in her throat, and she clutched at the bedsheets, her body writhing under his touch. The voice from the MRI whispered encouragement in her ear, urging her to give in to her newfound desires. She could feel the walls of her pussy clenching, begging for more.
With a growl, Marcus pulled away from her, his eyes smoldering with passion. He stood up, his erection still standing proud, and began to undress. Danielle watched him, her eyes devouring every inch of his bare skin as it was revealed. He was more muscular than she had ever imagined, his chest hairless and defined. The sight of his huge black cock made her even wetter, and she couldn't wait to feel him inside her.
The doctor took a moment to appreciate her new form, his gaze lingering on her swollen breasts and the dampness between her legs. Then, with a predatory grace, he climbed onto the bed, positioning himself between her thighs. He leaned down to kiss her again, his hand sliding down to tease her opening with a single finger. Danielle moaned into his mouth, her hips bucking up to meet his touch.
With a gentle push, he slid his finger inside her, feeling her tightness grip him. She was so wet, so ready for him. He added a second finger, stretching her, preparing her for what was to come. Danielle's moans grew louder, her body shuddering with pleasure. She had never felt so alive, so full of need. It was like she had been born for this moment, to be with him.
The doctor's thumb found her clit again, rubbing in a slow, steady rhythm that had her back arching off the bed. He watched her face contort with pleasure, his own arousal reaching a fever pitch. He could feel his control slipping, the need to claim her, to make her his own, growing stronger with every passing second.
With a final, gentle kiss, he positioned himself at her entrance, his cock poised to invade her tight, wet warmth. Danielle's eyes were half-closed, her breathing shallow as she awaited his next move. She felt the tip of his cock press against her, the anticipation making her entire body quiver. And then, with a powerful thrust, he was inside her.
Her gasp was muffled by his mouth, their tongues tangling as he filled her completely. The sensation was overwhelming, and she wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him deeper. He began to move, his hips rolling in a steady rhythm that had her toes curling with every stroke. She had never felt anything like this before, the sensation of being filled, the friction of his body against hers.
The voice in her head grew quieter, the hypnotic suggestions from the MRI fading into the background as the reality of her new life took precedence. David was truly gone, and in her place was Danielle, a woman who craved this kind of passion, who reveled in the feeling of being taken by the man she loved. The doctor's hands gripped her hips, his movements growing more urgent as he drove into her, each thrust sending waves of pleasure crashing through her body.
They moved together in perfect harmony, their breaths mingling in the quiet room. Danielle's mind was a whirlwind of emotions, she threw her head back, her long brown hair cascading over the pillow, as she reached the peak of her climax. The doctor groaned, his body tensing as he followed her over the edge, filling her with his warmth.
Afterwards, they lay tangled in the sheets, the scent of their passion heavy in the air. Marcus pulled her closer, his arm wrapping around her waist. Danielle felt a strange comfort in his embrace, as if she had always belonged there. They didn't speak, the silence between them filled with the unspoken understanding of what had just occurred.
Life moved quickly for Danielle, the days blurring together in a whirlwind of passion and excitement. Marcus had been a doting lover, showering her with gifts and affection. His apartment had become her sanctuary. Each touch, each whispered promise, cemented her role as his trophy girlfriend.
Marcus had introduced her to his luxurious world, a stark contrast to her former life with Rachel. They attended glamorous parties, dined at exclusive restaurants, and shopped at high-end boutiques where the saleswomen treated her with envy and deference. Danielle had never felt so desired, so alive.
Then one night, Marcus took Danielle to the most exclusive restaurant in town. After the most expensive dinner Danielle had ever had, Marcus got down on one knee and proposed. Danielle, with tears in her eyes, accepted. They were married 6 months later.
You sighed in exhaustion, using your remaining stamina to climb the stairs to your dorm room. As you reached the door, you unlocked it with your wand. Finally, you could rest, you thought. You glanced over at your bed—it had never looked more comfier.
You huffed, still remembering you had to shower. Placing your tote bag on your desk, you caught sight of a piece of paper in the corner of your eye. "I probably forgot to throw this out," you thought. But just as you were about to toss it into the trash, something stopped you, and you unfolded the note instead.
The note read, “You don’t notice me, but I see you. You are intriguing—more than anyone here. You have my attention, Y/N.”
Your brows furrowed in confusion and annoyance. "What twit is fucking around with me?" you muttered, raising your voice slightly as you slammed the note back on the table. You didn’t throw it out, though. Something told you not to.
Despite the irritation from the note, you carried on with your night and eventually fell into a restless slumber.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
A week passes with no new notes in sight—not that you’ve given it much thought. The first one had slipped from your mind soon after you received it.
You were in your Charms classroom, half-listening to Professor Flitwick as his voice reminded you of those ambient sounds that help you fall asleep. You were about to doze off any second.
"Turn to page 416 in your textbooks," Flitwick instructed. You clicked your tongue under your breath.
You pulled your textbook from your bag and began flipping through the pages until you reached page 416. And there it was. A note. Without thinking, assuming it was the same as the last one, you unfolded it.
"You read by the fire every evening. Do you ever wonder if someone is looking back?"
no. fucking. way.
Fear gripped you as you read the note. Someone is watching me? Panic rushed through your mind. Am I being stalked? Too many unsettling thoughts swirled in your head.
The class wasn’t even over, but you couldn’t stay another minute without spiraling into overthinking. In a hurry, you grabbed your tote bag and the note, then stormed out of the classroom. You heard Professor Flitwick call your name, but you didn’t bother turning around.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
The week after the Charms class incident, you began to expect the notes to appear wherever you went. But now, you found yourself paying close attention to anyone who might seem suspicious or could be the culprit behind this note fiasco.
Unfortunately, no one was able to catch your attention. This was a guessing game, and you were terribly losing. Not one person you could suspect.
You had classes with most of your fellow Slytherins, excluding females—Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, and Tom Riddle. But there’s no way any of them could be behind this, right?
Usually, you and your friends would hang out after school—whether it was catching up, gossiping, or filling each other in on the latest boy drama. Standing in the circle with your friends, you listened to them, but you made sure to stay alert, keeping an eye on your surroundings.
You still weren’t going to give up.
On this particularly chilly day, you were lucky enough to remember your jacket. Your hands were starting to freeze as the cold air bit at them. You stuffed your hands into the pockets, hoping for some warmth, but instead, you felt something—paper.
You pulled it out. Another note.
Excusing yourself from your friends, you claimed you had to go back to your dorm to start your pile of assignments. On your way there, you unfurled the note once again.
"You deserve admiration from someone who sees your true potential. I could give you the world—or take it from anyone who gets in my way."
Frustration bubbled inside you, eating away at your patience. You still had no idea who was behind these notes.
Once you reached your dorm, you tossed the note aside and began searching for the other two you’d hidden around the room.
To your luck, you found the other two. You laid all three notes side by side, carefully examining each one as you read them over again.
"Whoever this is, they must be really slick around me," you muttered under your breath, your annoyance growing with each passing second.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Another week passed, and you were expecting a note once again. You silently hoped this would be the last one.
You were walking swiftly down the hallway, your hair swaying with each step. You noticed Tom Riddle approaching, but as he passed, he suddenly stopped.
"Something's waiting for you on your bed," he said. Before you could respond, he turned and disappeared into the crowd, vanishing in less than a second.
Your expression froze, a mixture of confusion and worry spreading across your face. How does he know something’s waiting for me in my dorm? Did he get inside? How? Or does he know someone who put something there? Is it another note? What is it?
You shook the thoughts from your mind and quickened your pace towards your dorm. Anticipation surged through you—you had to find out what it was.
Once you reached your dorm, your eyes immediately went to what Tom had mentioned—your bed. There, lying on the bed, was a note. You snatched it up and opened it without a second thought.
"If you’re bold enough, meet me at the Astronomy Tower at midnight. Let’s see if you’re worthy of the attention you’ve earned." Tom’s name was signed at the bottom.
It was Tom Riddle who had been writing to you all this time. He was the same person who had snuck into your dorm and secretly placed the notes in your textbook and jacket.
You had to admit, Tom was undeniably attractive. His masculine features were striking, and you couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. Despite his looks, one thing about Tom—he always got what he wanted.
You had a small crush on him back in your third year, but it never lasted long—you never thought he’d reciprocate those feelings.
Now, though, what awaited you tonight was all you could think about.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
11:50 PM. Ten minutes until midnight. That gave you just enough time to make your way to the Astronomy Tower. You left your dorm room, silently praying this whole thing wouldn’t end up a disaster—and hoping you wouldn’t get caught by a professor for being out so late.
Your nerves were getting the best of you. Usually, it wasn’t an issue when it came to boys—after all, you were the one who flustered them most of the time. But this was different.
It was Tom Riddle. He was unlike any other Slytherin guy you’d met—more charming, reserved, and undeniably alluring.
As you made your way to the Astronomy Tower, your mind raced, running through different scenarios of how this whole situation could unfold.
You didn’t realize how much time had passed while your mind scrambled, but when you glanced up, the clock had already struck 12:00 AM. Thankfully, you were just in time. With one final step, you reached the top of the Astronomy Tower.
And there he was—the man himself, Tom Riddle. His back was faced to you as he gazed out at the night sky, waiting for your arrival.
You didn't even get a chance to make yourself known at the scene, because he already had. He felt your presence behind him, and turned to face you. Your eyes locked with his deep, dark ones.
"You came," he said, his voice smooth, a touch of satisfaction lacing his words.
"You wanted me to," you replied, your tone sharper than you intended. After all the trouble with the letters, it felt impossible to hold back. "What do you want from me, Tom?"
He took a step closer, his expression unreadable. "I thought I made it clear. I don’t want anything from you—I want you."
Your breath hitched, the weight of his words sinking in. "And if I don’t want to be part of... whatever this is?"
Tom’s lips twitched into the faintest hint of a smirk, though his gaze softened. "I don’t think you’d be here if you didn’t. You’re curious, drawn to me, just as I am to you. Admit it."
You hesitated, every warning in your head screaming to turn and leave, but your feet stayed rooted in place. "You don't know me, Tom," you said, putting sharp emphasis on the word 'don’t'.
"Oh, but I do," he spoke, still stepping closer. His voice dropped, sending a shiver down your spine. "I’ve watched you, studied you. You’re clever, gorgeous, ambitious, and so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. You could be extraordinary—we could be extraordinary together."
The weight of his words wrapped around you like a spell, leaving you dizzy and unsure. "What if I don’t want that kind of power?" you whispered, barely trusting yourself to speak.
Tom leaned in, his voice low and filled with something almost tender. "Then I’ll prove to you why you do."
His hand brushed yours, and you didn’t pull away. Instead, you met his gaze, the intensity there making your heart race. "I haven’t decided yet," you admitted softly.
"Then let me give you something to think about," he murmured. His fingers tilted your chin up, and for a moment, he paused, his dark eyes searching yours. When you didn’t move, he leaned in closer, his lips brushing against yours in a kiss that was both gentle and inarguably commanding.
The kiss was so intoxicating it almost felt like you were floating. His lips were astonishingly soft, almost unreal in their tenderness. They perfectly aligned with yours as you both explored each other’s mouths. His hands gently slid up your skirt, fingers tracing your smooth skin. The combination of his touch and the kiss sent waves of sensation through you, making it impossible to want to pull away from either.
It ended as quickly as it began, leaving you breathless.
His hands remained under your skirt, his palms hugging your curves as if they were made for you. His fingers trailed lower to your already-soaked cunt, grazing your sweet spot. He knew that touching you in a sensitive place would manipulate you into wanting him more—hence why he did it. Heat rushed to your cheeks, and a soft, involuntary whimper escaped your lips at his teasing touch.
"You're already mine," he murmured, his voice low and sultry. "But I could show you so much more—if you let me." His hand came out of your skirt, and made it's way to your waist. He ended with a passionate kiss to your neck, his teeth grazing your skin in a small bite that made you wince—though the sensation only fueled your desire.
"I’ll wait for your answer, darling." he said, his voice smooth as silk. With one final, lingering glance—seductive and full of promise—he turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving you alone in the cold night air. Your heart raced, and your mind was a blur, overwhelmed with thoughts of him and a deep, undeniable desire.
Needless to say, he undoubtedly won a chance with you.
He was yours, in secret.
₊ ˚ ⊹ ♡ . ⠀bottled up
note : i know i keep on saying that it's not a writing blog, but beomgyu crying is an emergency. i know all moa feel the same right now, so i wanted to write a little something to comfort both myself and moablr.
i started crying while choosing the pics on pinterest, and i just miss soobin and the members' happiness so so much, i just hope they all get the support they need from each other or from other people.
so it's [platonic] beomgyu x reader, with [obviously] soogyu / bestiez, not romantically ofc. hurt / comfort, crying
you look at the screen of your phone with a heavy heart, probably the heaviest it's been since soobin announced he finally agreed to take a break. it was beomgyu's schedule, a 'beomidio' live, but it was obvious he felt down from the very beginning.
everyone missed soobin, and the dorm was much quieter—not even because there were no sounds from soobin anymore: the cooking noise, gaming shouts, or soft bright laughs at some stupid dad joke by yeonjun—but because somehow, everyone still hasn’t figured out how to function properly with one of them gone.
but it was probably the most difficult for beomgyu. he kept joking about it in the group chat, trying not to worry soobin, who was reading everything. sometimes, he even cracked some jokes offline, but it never fooled anyone—mostly because you all felt the same way. everyone knew it wasn’t easy for him, but he shut down the day soobin left the dorm, brushing everyone off since then. he always said he was fine, just tired.
no one pried, giving him space, because that’s what beomgyu always does for others. but now, as you look at the back of his head on your phone screen—he had turned away from the camera, unable to keep his tears in anymore—you wondered if maybe you should’ve pushed him a little to open up.
you waited in the hall, sitting nearby the small room where beomgyu was holding his live. a bag with some snacks and one of soobin's hoodies—soobin didn’t even question it when you asked, just said to take what anyone needed—sat on the couch next to you.
it wasn’t surprising when a bunch of notifications from the group chat started popping up on your screen the moment beomgyu turned away, full of worry and support for him. there wasn’t any message from soobin in the chat, but you guessed he decided to text beomgyu privately. there’s no way soobin wouldn’t watch everything happening with txt.
when you saw beomgyu waving goodbye to the camera, his eyes still red and puffy, you stood up and grabbed the bag. you were already by the door when he said his last goodbyes and turned the live off, but suddenly, you weren’t sure how to approach him. it had never been a problem before, but this was the first time he seemed this low.
a quiet ringtone from behind the door pulled you out of your thoughts. you swore you heard a sob before a soft "hello." you knew it had to be either yeonjun or soobin calling beomgyu right after the live ended—but most likely soobin.
you opened the door cautiously, whispering his name softly so you wouldn’t startle him. you wanted him to know it was you, that he didn’t need to hide his tears or hold anything back. the moment he saw you, though, the sob he let out was even more broken than before.
he crossed the room in just a few steps and clung to you, his strength barely controlled. his phone was still in his hand, and you could hear soobin’s gentle voice trying to calm him, trying to soothe all the hurting feelings. you wrapped your arms around his shaking body, rubbing his back and whispering encouragements, promising everything would be okay.
you felt him hold onto you tighter, his fist gripping the back of your sweater. his forehead rested on your shoulder as he finally let out all the tears he’d been bottling up for more than a week. for the first time, he showed both you and soobin how tired he really was, how much soobin’s absence was affecting him.
as his sobs grew quieter and less frequent, you could feel his weight pressing heavier against you. it seemed like he was so drained emotionally that he could barely hold himself up anymore. you were torn between making him sit down in the chair he used for the live or just lowering both of you to the floor.
but the last thing any of you needed was for another member to get sick, so you gently guided him to the chair. beomgyu understood and sat down, his elbows resting on his knees and his forehead in his hand. soobin’s soft voice continued to calm him through the phone.
you crouched down in front of him, one hand gently rubbing his knee while the other reached into the bag. you pulled out the snacks first to get to the hoodie. as you finally laid the hoodie on his lap, beomgyu looked up at you, wide-eyed. he recognized the scent of soobin’s perfume you’d sprayed on it to make it feel even more like him.
"i brought it for you," you said quietly, smiling a little. "soobin said it’s okay."
beomgyu sniffled again, gripping the hoodie tightly and holding it close to his chest. he whispered a small "thank you," and you knew it was meant for both you and soobin. you also knew that everyone in the dorm would be all over beomgyu soon, comforting him, making sure he knew he wasn’t alone.
You've confessed to Seungkwan many years ago. In the middle of your school classroom, during a truth or dare game. You actually didn't have to, not exactly, but you did. You've chosen truth, being asked if you liked someone from the circle, and you simply said yes. Seungkwan, like the noisy best friend he was, turned to you with the most dramatic surprised face you've seen, like feeling betrayed for not knowing about this.
He whispered to your ear, asking who it was and kept peeping in the whole day when you didn't answer, so you had no other choice but to confess. "It's you" You said, already a few steps to your home. He didn't say anything but looked reasonably surprised. Those five steps left felt like forever in the dead silence it caused. And Seungkwan never really said anything back... thankfully, your friendship stayed the same. Besides the fact you had to spend your high school years tortured by Seungkwan jokingly teasing you for liking him at any chance he had like an immature kid boosting his ego. You didn't mind that much, it was just really annoying.
Last year of high school came, with the anxious and thrilling feeling of ending school years. You felt the happiest for getting on the major you wanted and even happier to see Seungkwan get on the university he dreamed of. You already knew this, but it took Seungkwan a few days to kick in he'd be on a totally different province, he'd be studying in Seoul and you near Jeju. You saw the pure happiness on him turn into a mixture of fear, sadness, and deep down excitement, you truly felt like he was a bit lost.
He came to you in tears a few times, and in one of those, he confessed to you. You couldn't help but feel like he was just afraid and confused. You felt wronged because that didn't feel like his true feelings towards you, he was just afraid of losing your friendship. You said that to him, but he didn't take it lightly, saying you shouldn't assume his feelings. You had a big real fight for the first time and were both stubborn and kept to your sides. You both followed your ways and apart, and that first year of college was one of the most difficult ones of your life.
Getting into young adulthood without your best friend was not easy, but you got through it. You got used to the university routine, met really good new people, and found a part-time job at a restaurant. That obligated you to talk with different people, and one of them just happened to be your future boyfriend. You didn't know then, but Seungkwan was also dating someone else by that time, and ironically, your partners were the ones to make you talk to each other again years after. The thought of having feelings for someone else making it stupid to have those lingering feelings in between you two. You reached out and casually talked a few times.
It was summer break when you first saw him face to face again. The 22 years old Seungkwan felt new but also not different to that 15 years old kid. He looked mature, physically and personally, the way he talked was so matured but his mannerisms were still those familiar sweet childlike habits. It was nice to be in his presence again and you felt like you missed it so much and didn't even know it. You kept ties, and you grew comfortable to feel like best friends again. Even though it was still hard to see each other often when he was in Seoul and you here.
He was there when you graduated college and even happier to hear you got a job in Seoul, and you'd be close again. You felt nostalgia, those same mixture of feelings Seungkwan had years before, reaching you in a slightly different manner. You and your boyfriend had talked, you were open to try but he seemed certain that long distance relationship wouldn't work for him. You got to Seoul with your heart up on your sleeve but Seungkwan was there for you, helping you stead the ground and stabilize yourself in the big city. He had to make it with a broken heart as well in the past, he knows how scary it can be. He wouldn't want that for you.
A few months later, Seungkwan had also ended his relationship. You never knew exactly what happened, it just did. He didn't seem broken but strangely quiet and to himself, he never talked about it, at least, not with you. As time passed, he slowly recovered and back to his light self.
Seungkwan's been always attractive to your eyes, he just has this way of presenting himself that it's just... attractive... he's confident but sweet. Straightforward but soft spoken. He's just him. It didn't come as a surprise but it was also unexpected when you got yourself tipsy making out with him in the back of his car during new years eve. Midnight came and you had Seungkwan's tongue on your mouth, his hands sneaking under your shirt when your body squirmed over his. You got startle by the fireworks outside. The windows were blurry and you could only see the smug, colorful flashing ligths. He was smiling when you looked back at him. "Happy new year, yn-ie" He said, pushing your hair back and kissing your cheeks like he hadn't crazily made out with you seconds before. It was an one time thing, but you couldn't deny that sometimes this tension just builds in the air around you both. You've dreamed about his soft skilled lips on yours more than you wished and think you should.
You both were able to get a break from work during the same days, like you planned and talked before. You felt so happy and excited to go on a trip back to Jeju to spend his 25th birthday with him and your families. They've been always close, even when you two refused to talk to each other, they'd still meet up.
And now that you're here, sitting on the grass, feeling the cold winter breeze, eating sweet clementines with Seungkwan by your side, like you used to, but now as grown-ups, this memories just feel a bit too much, coming back again like scenes from a movie in your head. With all the childhood moments with him this place reminds you, it aches your heart and brings that pure innocent teen crush feelings again to surface. You and your families had a really great meal together, and now you both came out to rest and have something sweet.
"What do you think?" His voice takes space, cutting the rush of thoughts from your mind.
"I'm actually craving that" You respond. You were still able to listen to his words about the new cafeteria and how you two could have breakfast there tomorrow.
The sun is beautifully setting across you, the sky tinted in orange, blue and light pink. You make conversation until it starts to get too dark outside. You walk down back home, Seungkwan's jacket around your shoulders with the familiar great smell of his citric cologne.
Once you get home, you find your families on the dinner table playing a game together, the laughter filling the room and warming your heart. You can't help but smile while letting your shoes by the door.
"Ya! You kids took forever, hm? We were getting worried" Your mom was the first one to see you two and approach your presence.
"Sorry, eomonnie. The sun was beautiful, we couldn't help it" Seungkwan responds for you. He's already a few steps ahead of you, his arms coming around his mother to hug her, leaving a kiss on top of her head. Your mom, who is beside his, caresses his arms with a found look.
"C'mon, get yourselves a glass of wine and come play with us" Seungkwan's dad concludes. You both just nod, making your way to the kitchen to grab your drinks, before taking your places at the large table, joining the pictionary game.
"They are staying over today, dear." Your mom approaches you as you sit on her other side and besides your dad. "Take some room for Seungkwan in yours, ok?" She adds, and you just agree happily.
"Dad, have you seen the heater? It wasn't working tidily last time I came home." You ask.
"I did look it. It was working, I hope it is still... Let me know if it crashes again" He replies. The game soon asks for more of your attention.
You guys don't even see the time passing by, deciding it was time to stop after midnight. Seungkwan's parents welcomed themselves at the guest room, your parents back to theirs as you tidy the room while Seungkwan washes up. You try settling up the heater, It was on, but not heating like It was supposed to. You grunt, frustrated, looking and figuring out the buttons. It was in its max capability. Seungkwan gets in the room when you're angrily slapping the machine. He laughs, half entrained, half worried.
"Calm down, Yn-ie" He smiles, approaching you "You gonna really break it like this" He says.
You roll your eyes, already done with it. "So you do it, I'm washing up" You say, already getting up and rummaging through your clothes.
"I will try" He says, jokingly greeting with his hand over his forehead like a soldier, mocking following your oders. You scoff, letting go a bit, it's just his ability to ease out the atmosphere, "It's not that bad, tho. It will get better as time passes. It's warm in here" He completes and you simply hum, making your way to the bathroom.
Once you come back, the room is truly warmer and Seungkwan was right about this. Looking back at him, he's already on one side of the bed, his eyes exhausted, threatening to shut already, that he had to fight from doing so until you are back. You smile foundly, taking the other side as you comfortably tug on your duvet and fall asleep beside him.
You're awake by the shiver your body lets out, it shakes on the spot. When you open your eyes, you come to realize your nose is freezing and your feet aching from coldness. The fucking heaten again, you groan, not taking the courage to leave the still warm sheets. Seungkwan moves beside you, it's dark but you can see the outline of his face looking over his shoulders. "Are you okay?" He says in his low raspy voice from just waking up.
"No! How are you not freezing?" You shout in a whisper tone. Seungkwan quietly laughs, as he moves to face you.
"I am" he confesses and you groan again, frustrated. "C'mere" He simply says, opening space on his duvet and arms for you. You dont think twice in slipping to the offered space. You cage your face on his shoulders, warming your cold nose over his robe, drinking in his scent as he hugs you to his side in an attempt to cut the cold with the warmth of each other's bodies.
"Thank you" you hum, pleasantly as you start to fall asleep again, trying not to overthink the position you're in, your heart saying otherwise.
You wake up in the morning, with the sunlight brushing through the curtains. Your body tugged in the two duvets as you miss Seungkwan by your side. He's not there anymore as you spread, stretching your body, blinking a few times to adjust the daylight.
You finally wake up to be meet at the sight of Seungkwan in sporty clothes and a coffee in his hands on your living room. "Good morning, sleepy bird" He greets as you just blank stare, not really being the morning person type like he is "I took an walk earlier, the weather is really great today" He says "I also bought you coffee, it is over the counter"
You hum, thanking him, already taking your back so you can head to the caffeine that is so much needed in your mornings routines. To the few things you get in common with your best friend, there's definitely the stubbornness and the caffeine addiction.
"Where's everyone?" You spill while walking.
"When I woke up, they weren't here either" Seungkwan affirms "I texted them, they said they were going to pick up my sisters on the train station" He completes, sliding down on the sofa, resting his head on the headboard.
You listen to him briefly, your eyes closing as soon as you take the first sip of coffee down your throat, smiling happily with the bitter taste of it. Seungkwan is looking back at you, smiling too when you open your eyes "This makes me crave something sweet" You add.
"This is the coffee shop we were talking about. They have donuts there" He says.
"We are going" You reply immediately, already running to your room "I'm going to get changed" You scream your way down the hallway.
Once you're inside and far away, you sigh in relief. Everything is going as planned.
"If character X was a man, you would love her, but she's a woman, so you blame her!!!11 And that's blah blah blah..."
Anonymous just made me realize why I hate the character of Wanda Maximoff in the MCU so much. Because she's the Alicent Hightower of the Marvel universe!
1. Fans of both characters think that because something bad happened to them in their youth, they deserve to be called eternal victims and all the bad things they do should be justified. Because they are THE victims. And of course, fans don't see their guilt, only the men - Viserys, Larys, Tony, Stephen...
2. Both consider themselves morally right when they hurt and sentence to death people around them, because they think they deserve something. Whether it's fictional children from the Sims game in Westwiew, or a throne that never belonged to them. Alicent is guilty of the deaths of the Strongs, the lords in the Red Keep, of starting the Civil War that led to the slaughter of entire family, but so what? After all, her rapist son should sit on the throne belonging to Rhaenyra, because Alicent deserves it. It's exactly the same with Wanda - people in Westwiew were tortured, mentally raped and so traumatized that thousands left the city, Wanda from another dimension was turned into a murderer by mental rape, and dozens of people defending a 14-year-old from death were murdered? So what, after all, Wanda deserves it. After all, they are victims of evil men!
3. Both are infantilized by their fans, who pretend that Alicent did not know that the Civil War would break out, and Wanda did not know what would happen when she read the Darkhold. These are adult women aware of their (bad) choices, not children.
4. Defending these women's "feminism" while dragging other women through the mud. Alicent's fans call Rhaenyra a whore and at every turn belittle how Alicent made her life hell for her own selfish reasons. Same with Wanda's fans who spread hate towards Rebecca Kaplan (you know, the woman who was actually a mother and not just played at being one for 3 days) because Billy Kaplan thinks she's his real mother, or towards 14 year old America who had the nerve not to die for Wanda's happiness.
Thanks, anonymous from mailbox, now I hate Wanda even more <3!
