i have little complaint about the scene with charon and cerberus in practicality because i understand it was a detail that can be sacrificed to give scenes like Hades’ room to breathe, but
(a) did we have to lose “we all drowned in a bathtub” that’s An Incredible Line and wouldve taken the same amt of time riordan pls the replacement line was funny but not iconic :(
(b) the point of this post: i am SO sad they cut percy bribing charon, because like, percy’s a manipulative little shit when he wants to be, and it ends up scaring people! i dont have it handy but that scene in HOO where the character POV (annabeth? hazel?) is like… “did percy just manipulate that guy into this choice? on purpose? that’s…disturbingly calculating” —THIS IS A BASIS OF THAT. percy manipulates charon into letting them into the underworld not by throwing a sack of gold at him; he realizes charon wants to bitch and uses that bitching as a doorway in. “you deserve time off [clink] better pay [clink]” (i dont have my book rip the full quote is so funny tho 😭)
Tumblr media
like, first of all, the book stresses that percy gets how adults are with alcohol, guy time™️ (derogatory), and money. gabe wastes all their money on poker. he takes any change percy has on him the moment the kid walks in the door. but also, percy mentions throughout the series that he picked up a fair few unethical skills from his boarding schools, too. and this hinted at that, imo. even annabeth was impressed. and that charon ferried them across and then immediately was like “thx for the coin good luck w the dog” —the same couldve been accomplished with charon unlocking a gate for them and then cerberus is Right There. not much would’ve changed.
idk rip “it was a big bathtub” and rip the image of percy slowly stacking drachmas in front of a dude in an italian suit while the guy bitches abt his boss you will always be famous to me

Dungeonclown D20 “Rankings”
In quotes bc i love pretty much all of them and just had to post this for posterity and if one of my friends asks which season(s) to watch. [Bullet Points not in any particular order]
Level 0: did not finish
Pirates of Leviathan (lovely cast but i couldnt get all the way thru due to audio quality issues from being the first remotely recorded show.)
Shriek Week (gabe hicks)
Coffin Run (didn’t hold my interest)
Level 1: I Really Like This 😊
Fantasy High Sophomore Year (i love this season, literally the only downside was the livestream format. No!!)
Fantasy High (OG - we’ve come so far)
Tiny Heist (i mean, so darling, so funny. what so u expect)
Mice & Murder (better quality for remote but could tell the cast would have killed it in person since the zoom call situation is a big barrier)
Misfits & Magic (very cute and wholesome. Spaulding forever)
The Seven (needed more episodes to tell the story!!! wish they had sets and minis; covid problems)
Neverafter (love the themes and imagery, such a good study on storytelling.)
Dungeons & Drag Queens (fave sidequest character art and minis, mainly so impressed by brennans skill as a gm for new players/roleplayers)
Level 2: I Absolutely Love This 🤩
Fantasy High Junior Year (first show watched as it was airing, best FH yet, mary anne skuttle what more could u ask for)
Unsleeping City Part 2 (literally only downside is being filmed remotely. Breaks my heart they couldnt do this in person since this season is so special. BUT - got to see character art and illustrated backgrounds which was really fun)
A Crown of Candy (goddamnit brennan)
The Ravening War (goddamnit matt)
Mentopolis (superb cast w great chemistry and just lots of fun idk man i just think theyre neat)
Burrow’s End (fucking incredible storytelling by aabria, the cast, the crew w sets and minis and SHADOW PUPPETS goddamn.)
Never Stop Blowing Up (so stupid so joyful im just happy to be here)
Level 3: Has a Special Place In My Heart 🥰
Unsleeping City (some of my all time favorite characters and i just love how deeply these people love and understand New York City. Its the molecular structure of NYC in a show and its special)
Escape from the Bloodkeep (the first season i was like I Have To Stop Immediately And Share This With My Family. Every character is perfect. Every NPC is perfect. The minis and sets are darling. Every day i think about Hamhead and about muh hert)
A Court of Fey & Flowers (i just love them, i never thought id be invested in regency shit but if you put it in the feywild and add goblins and hobgoblins and owlbears and idiot bird people and shit im so down goddamn. Killed it. Absolutely killed it. Also gorgeous sets and costumes and props??? Gagged.)
Level 4: Rewired My Brain Chemistry 💀
A Starstruck Odyssey (screaming, crying, throwing up. The energy of these people being in person after covid creates a truly incredible maelstrom of dumb beautiful bozo shenanigans. id give a kidney for more ASO content. I Love This Show. And that it was based off of Starstruck is so fuckin special. This setting is amazing. also big barry syx is the exact bullseye of character im obsessed with that it makes me feral to think about him. I was going to joke that he was made in a lab specifically to appeal to my big beefy sex idiot himbo mercenary sensibilities but thats exactly his backstory and im mad about it)

i recently watched roadhouse (the jake gyllenhaal version) and it is very silly and very enjoyable, and i would like an au.
seamus’s grandfather dies and leaves him a bar in the florida keys. seamus immediately receives a massive offer to purchase the bar from a powerful local businessman, but he’s somehow reluctant to let the place go. he and gavin make a trip to the keys to check the place out.
they’re not as close as they used to be; they’re both at a crossroads in their respective lives; etc. they go fishing. the water is impossibly blue. something about seeing seamus in his element, here at the end of the world, florida but not really the florida that used to be theirs together, stirs something for gavin. “i think you should make a go of it,” he tells seamus, and seamus says “i will if you’ll help,” which is kind of what gavin was hoping he’d say.
the bar’s a disaster. accounts in disarray, hassles from the health department, a rough crowd that keeps getting out of hand. seamus gets increasing offers from the guy who’s pressuring him to sell. but now this is his and gavin’s place, and every morning they sit in the sun and have coffee on the deck of the dilapidated houseboat they’ve rented. seamus feels like he’s starting to find himself and maybe starting to find gavin too, and he’s not selling this bar.
gavin’s the one who takes the drastic step of offering a princely salary to a morally dubious former mma fighter to come be their bouncer. they’re about to lose their insurance if they can’t curb the violence at the bar. ryan leonard is vehemently not interested but after some sparkling banter with gavin he decides he’s in.
as leno settles into life in the keys and starts kicking ass at the bar, he encounters gabe (a doctor at the local hospital where leno keeps showing up with the wounded in the aftermath of bar fights). he takes gabe to dinner. they flirt. there’s sparks.
leno also encounters will, who leno thinks has some innocuous job in tourism. unbeknownst to leno, will is the son of the local business magnate who has his eye on the bar and is behind the campaign of violence that’s pressuring seamus to sell to him. if leno was aware of this he would not have started fucking will, but too late now.
leno beats up a series of thugs sent by will’s father to cause chaos at the bar. their identities are not important but they are all played by random nhl people whose behavior i loathe (trouba, mackinnon, marchand, wilson, etc.) one of them gets eaten by a crocodile. maybe they all do, because this is my story and i can have jacob trouba eaten by a crocodile as a treat.
also the tkachuks are involved but in a fun way. like, leno breaks up a fight but it’s matthew and brady fighting each other and somehow they all end up pals.
in the movie there’s one “villain” who’s the trump card of violence that the business magnate brings to town bc he’s supposed to be the only person who can take out leno. i put villain in quotes bc this character is played by conor mcgregor, and he’s a lot of fun and you are kind of rooting for him even as he and leno are fighting each other to the death. in my story this character is played by matt rempe.
there’s a climactic scene on the water with a boat chase and an exploding yacht and gabe is taken hostage by the evil interests. when leno comes to save gabe, will greets him on the deck of the yacht and that’s the big reveal that he’s the son of the evil business owner.
idk how that love triangle resolves, but the rule is that snakes don’t get happy endings, so the happy ending is leno exploding the yacht and leaving a chest of the bad guy’s money at the bar for gavin and seamus and the two of them kiss and live happily ever after. in the final scene the bar is repaired and thriving and they’re both working there wearing t-shirts that say roadhouse on the back.

Good Omens thoughts in summary
On the whole, I’m happy with it. Won’t mind watching it again and again, definitely.
The Good:
Michael and David entirely loving their characters and each other and bringing that to life so wonderfully. The bickering and sniping and affection made me so happy
The entire Job storyline making it clear that God is as arbitrary and as indifferent to humanity and their suffering as Heaven, but Aziraphale still can’t see it because God still talks to Job when She long since stopped talking to the angels
All the tasty juicy parallels running all over the place - the realisation that actually, no Nina isn’t the grumpy signifier for Crowley, she’s the Aziraphale trapped in a toxic and controlling relationship but staying because it’s her partner and she feels she has to? And Maggie being the signifier for Crowley, the one who isn’t afraid of hard work and who will be brave and wait for the one they love?
The entire score - David Arnold is a master with his music and he inflicts musical pain so beautifully.
the sneaky little hints of Crowley’s angelic history
The ending. I know I’m probably in a minority, but I legit love that Aziraphale is still doing what he believes is the right thing to protect the world and Crowley. As Crowley said “whether it’s Hell or Heaven that destroys it, it will still be dead” and Aziraphale standing at that lift and pulling on his game face because he knows The Big One is coming. Crowley knew there would be another apocalypse, he warned him about it at the end of S1. Aziraphale’s been afraid of it for so long because he fears losing Crowley and the world. If Crowley was on the same side as him, he would have some level of protection, but even if Crowley won’t go with him, he will go to the place he fears and dislikes because if he’s not there to try and change things, who will?
the Metatron being a shady shady bitch. After all, he can’t have an angel and a demon who can summon up the power in excess of the Supreme Archangel working together when Heaven has plans in motion.
Aziraphale being a precious wee bean when it comes to looking after Maggie, purely because he likes his records.
A/C and their respective perspectives of what makes things romantic and trying to make Romance Happen. It’s also such a useful little reminder that Free Will is a thing. “we’re not toys for you to play with”.
Jim. I loved seeing how the lads interacted with him, but also how his behaviour changed and developed the more time he spent around them. Not to mention the fact that even with his memory gone, Gabriel instinctively knew Aziraphale was someone who would protect him because Aziraphale is the Guardianist Guardian to ever Guardian.
The Meh:
I am fully indifferent to the Nazi zombies. It felt pointless and was much too much unnecessary gore and time spent on body humour and body horror. Furfur could have done it solo. We could have had more of the magic act. But instead we get excessive time dedicated to lurching zombies who pretty much did bugger all aside from pull faces.
Too many new and random side characters and not enough time for them all. Some parts felt a bit scattered because there were just so many little things happening.
Beez and Gabe felt rushed. I know it was the undercurrent of the whole series, but cramming the big reveal into 5 minutes with barely hints earlier felt a bit much.
Otherwise, I know that much of this was set-up for S3. There is so much significance to the fact that all three of the flashbacks relate to times when people/bodies came back from the grave. I can’t remember Jim’s exact quote, but he cited something that I think is from Revelation about the dead rising and that is entirely fodder for S3.

end of year round up (rec list!)
rec lists are a forgotten art in fandom, and I've read so many good fics this year. below are a few of my favourites, although I'll stick with one from each author!
redacted audio - full ao3 bookmarks (94)
- burn me, Asher/Damien by @dominimoonbeam
this was my first bookmark, and it remains one of my favourites. the dynamic is just, so good. ash balances out damien so well. (domini we love all of your work <33)
- I'm out of my element, HuxDami by @jonbinary
set immediately post inversion, and got me on this TRAIN before canon was a thing. Just, gorgeous and tender writing ;u;
- old number seven, Sam/Darlin by @devilbunnyking
Gods, this was stunning. slow rolling tension, sharing a whiskey and plugging tunes in the juke box. Beautiful exploration of both of them!!
- apple and honey, Milo/Sweetheart (18+) by @onesmallcentury
Any redacted reclist would be incomplete without this MASTERPIECE okay. Gods, I cannot count how many times I've reread this. Delicious, gorgeous <3
- refractions, Gavin/Freelancer by @solclaw
The emotional slow burn of those early dates. Just, goddamn stunning. I could curl up in your writing forever, beanie ;u;
- commit it to memory, Huxley/Freelancer by @sealriously-sealrious
honestly, want to link all your writing here Chrys, but this is Huxley! With tattoos!! And @taelonsamada 's gorgeous art!!! MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN
- SWEET TALK, Milo/Sweetheart by @gingerbreadmonsters
this whole series is a MASTERPIECE. the dynamics!! The banter!! It makes me melt okay. all your writing is lovely, but this series holds a special place in my heart <3
- Signs Point to Yes, Milo/Sweetheart (18+) by @wakeupnew
On the subject of Milo and SH, this story has been living rent free in my mind for the last few weeks. The eight ball quotes! AGGRO! The dynamic of these two are just perfect, dealing with the inversion aftermath, and it's just gorgeous.
- fill my heart with song (and let me sing), Milo/Sweetheart (18+) by @autisticempathydaemon
Again on the subject of these two, I absolutely loved this fic. I love all of Lexi's work, but this was delicious 😚💖
- Let's make this night last forever (forever and ever), Milo/Sweetheart (18+) by @glassbearclock
Okay, this FIC. ALL OF BEAN'S MILO FICS. It's a beautiful chronology, but this one is just, fecking fantastic.
- ad astra (per aspera), Avior/Starlight by @lvllns
Starlight and Avior break out of the meridian. Gods, this is absolutely stunning. I love Reed's work, and I'm so very happy I got them into redacted >:3
- An Angel In Wolf's Clothing, David/Angel (no Tumblr?)
FINALLY David makes it onto this list. I've read this story SO MANY TIMES. Gorgeous early revelation exploration, where Davey tells Angel that he's a wolf.
- return to shore, imp!David/angel by @taelonsamada
THE IMPERIUM AU OF MY DREAMS. Giving David and Sam the chance they never had to find happiness in the Imperium. SO PERFECT ;u;
- phases of you, David/angel (no Tumblr! 18+)
Gods, this is one of my favourite redacted fics. Reimagines David and angel's relationship if Angel was a wolf, and they were mated before Gabe died. Long fic!! Had me obsessed for a weekend. Still obsessed hehehe
- (Gonna make you) howl, David/Angel (18+) by @romirola
>:3 Romi's work is gorgeous, and I recommend all of her fics, but THIS FIC. Angel pampers David, and it is GORGEOUS.
- Halley's comet, Elliot/Sunshine (no Tumblr)
GORGEOUS. There are not enough Elliot/Sunshine fics!!! Elliot asks sunshine for 7 days to prove that he is a dream walker.
- California nights, Milo/Sweetheart (18+) by @thee-morrigan
Again, I love Katie's writing, and this is no exception. DELICIOUS 😚💖💖

Round 3 - Catholic Character Tournament
Tumblr media
Propaganda below ⬇️
Gabriel
Well he's an angel so I'm taking him being catholic as canon. There are a lot of themes in the game that point to catholisism specifically.
He's so fucking funny. he listens to nine inch nails and quotes one of the songs in a fight basically "fight me like an animal". he and v1 kind of have this yuri thing going on. he has an official bodypillow. hes a metaphor for being excommunicated and no one gets him like me and my friends do
The *true* Catholic experience is leaving the church and having a gay awakening, ask anyone
its debatable if Gabriel truly believes he's "the one true savior" or is mocking the idea of it
ok im actually gonna write some gabe propaganda bc despite what you may expect from a game called ULTRAKILL theres a lot to be said about his character and how catholicism is represented
Gabriel is a genuinely caring person who struggles to square his desire to help people with his duty as an archangel. He's the only one in Heaven trying to make things better for those in Hell, but his faith is used to manipulate him into committing atrocities against the people he used to protect (see the "TRAITOR" mural in 4-2)
he only realizes his mistakes after losing everything and being sentenced to death, but he still decides with only a little time remaining to try and make things right. for the sake of spoilers i will just say that the measures he takes are... extremely drastic and very enjoyable. i just really like the idea that even facing the end of all living things, no matter how steep your crimes, it is never too late to fix your mistakes. you are never unworthy forgiveness.
hes also SO FUCKING GAY for this dumb little robot. it mauled him so hard he tasted his own blood and he fell in love right there. theres no way this guy has a normal healthy relationship to pain he is soooooooooo fucked. i love him. please vote for Gabriel "patron saint of gay lapsed catholics" Ultrakill !!!!!!!!
Shadow
In sonic destruction (the AI generated fan thing snapcube made a while ago) shadow was catholic or something which I think is reallyyyyyyy funny
Ok listen. I know this is a stretch but hear me out. He says “oh my God” in the Twitter takeovers so we know this is a possibility. I see him as a Christ-like figure because I saw his whole confrontation with Mephiles and was like “this is a thing that happened in the Bible??” and the pose Mephiles shows him in is literally like a crucifixion and Mephiles is meant to be a demon / false prophet reference. And also he’s called a demon in Shadow The Hedgehog 2005 then the guy who calls him that is like “I was wrong I’m sorry” and that also reminds me of a thing with Jesus in The Bible. But the biggest reason is his whole thing with Maria cause I think he’d come to earth and hear Ave Maria once and convert to Catholicism idk he’s like we’re comforted by a female familial figure named Mary sometimes called Maria?? And her color is blue????? Heck yeah I’m in because I Will Cry. Also feel free to share this as propaganda obv even if he doesn’t get in the bracket just. It’s funny.
I feel like he’d battle a lot with being seen or portrayed as a demon and how the aliens he’s related to very much look and act like demons idk lmao- and also I feel like confession would just be good for him I think he needs it for his mental health
There is a debate on the lovely website tunblr that Shadow T. Hedgehog is an allegory for Jesus Christ.
He is Jesus, idk what to tell you. He lived, he was sealed away, he was awakened again and deemed the ultimate lifeforms, he’s angry but not evil, does what he believes is best for people and the world at any given time. Total loser.

₊˚⊹♡ PICKING DAISIES ON SUNDAYS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[i'll buy you flowers every day for the rest of my life if it makes you this happy"]
| ✮ 5 stars |
THOUGHTS ° ᡣ𐭩 . ° . [possible spoilers ahead]
oh my god. i loved this book like yeah it was kinda cringey at points but ahsdghas idc at this point. im gonna die on this hill. the writing was simple but still very pretty and enjoyable. i was going back and forth from 4.5 to 5 but i ended up choosing 5 because i loved this book and im nearly positive i've found a new comfort book.
the cover (we judge covers in this household thank you very much) is so so so pretty i love it. and plus best friends to lovers and fake dating??? fuck yeah sign me up!!
the overall plot was really good, she's a fashion student and he's a TA (i also had ZERO clue what that was until i searched it up) and they had to fake date for his sisters wedding. tho it was kinda strange to me how like none of his family even batted an eyelid that she was there. there was no like hi i haven't seen you for like four years do you mind if i join ur wedding party? anyway what was so cute was how levi would pick dani up and drop her off everywhere and i mean everywhere. i seriously don't think im ever going to find love atp. and the flowers/flower shop ahhhh i love it.
AND THE POEMS. THE MOTHER-FUCKING-POEMS. im never getting over that.
i do feel like liana just picked all her fave tropes and stuffed them all into one book which did end up making some parts a little bit cringe. but i still loved it
CHARACTERS ° ᡣ𐭩 . ° .
daniella - ahhh dani was so cute throughout the book - i did want to just fucking shake her at some points because BABES HOW DENSE ARE YOU?? HE'S CLEARLY IN LOVE WITH YOU. WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO CONVINCE HERE? ME OR YOU? anyway aside from dani not being able to see how very clearly levi was in love with her. she was a decent character into fashion and worked at her aunt's flower shop which was such a vibe ashdgsaj.
levi - ugh new book boyfriend alert. my guy was just asjdhgasjd. he'd pick dani up from everywhere not wanting her to be alone at night. and the way he calls her daisy????? he was such a soft family guy. his sisters were the cutest little girls on the planet omg. i rlly dont remember too much abt him (1 because i was just fangirling over him so my brain was just: ahhhhhh (2 because its been like a week since i put the book down (i blame procrastination) anyway i love him end of story
jia and gabe [featuring josh] - omg omg omg i love them. give me their friendship rn. like seriously the whole stalking each other on dates is hilarious and when jia interrupted gabe's date?? poor old josh over here was just trying to get through a shift. in conclusion i love them and i need friends like this.
QUOTES ° ᡣ𐭩 . ° .[spoilers]
"you intoxicate me, daisy. the scent of flowers lingers on you everywhere you go, and i always want to follow." - levi
"you're spring baby. you're more radiant than the flowers and the sun and no one can take that away from you." - levi
“i want to be noticed in a crowded room. i want to be the only person in a crowded room. i want to be wanted, truly wanted, and desired. i want to laugh and to sing and to dance with someone and not feel self-conscious over it because i love them and i’m confident that they love me. i want to be touched and kissed and held because i’ve forgotten what it feels like…and yet, i think i deserve it.” - dani
when's it my turn for love hmm?

WITH YOU II | [9] SOMETHING INSIDE ME
Daryl Dixon x oc!Charlie
Summary: The group struggles some more in Alexandria. Charlie’s grieve leads her into a dangerous emotional state.
Warnings: anxiety attack, walker’s attack, death, violence
Song: Halsey - Castle
Words: 3.938
A/N: Hello, enjoy this new chapter that ends act 5! AND THANK YOU FOR 100 followers!!!!
Tumblr media
Charlie sat quietly in the dimly lit church, her gaze fixed on the flickering candle flames dancing before her. The familiar scent of incense lingered in the air, mingling with the musty aroma of old books and worn pews. She could hear the faint echo of footsteps approaching, signaling Gabe's arrival.
"They got you a nice church," Charlie remarked softly, not turning to face him. "All those things you got...those people love you."
She was jealous. After everything he had done, he got so much love from people, who could barely greet her. Gabe's voice, filled with concern, broke through the stillness. "Charlie? What are you doing here?"
"What people usually do in a church," she replied cryptically, her tone weighted with unspoken thoughts.
Gabe settled beside her, his presence a silent comfort amidst the turmoil brewing within her. "You came to confess?"
"I have nothing to confess," she shook her head, her voice tinged with resignation.
"We're all nothing but sinners," Gabe countered gently, his eyes reflecting the compassion he held for her.
Silence enveloped them, the weight of Charlie's unspoken words hanging heavily in the air. In her mind, a tempest raged, threatening to consume her with its relentless fury.
"I have no sins."
"We all do."
"I have just fears," she said as she turned her head to him.
Gabe reached out, his hand resting gently on Charlie's shoulder as he sought to understand the turmoil that churned within her. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit," he quoted from the book of Psalms, offering her a beacon of hope. "Whatever burdens you carry, you don't have to face them alone."
Charlie rose from the pew, her expression clouded with unresolved emotions as she turned to leave the church. Her movements graceful yet laden with the weight of her unspoken burdens, she cast a sidelong glance at Gabe
"Thanks for the enlightening chat, Father," she quipped, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "I'll be sure to drop by for my daily dose of redemption." With a flick of her wrist, she turned on her heel and strode purposefully towards the door. "Oh, and make sure that this time you won't kill your congregation."
As Charlie stepped out of the church, the warmth of the sun enveloped her like a comforting embrace, casting a golden glow upon her weary features. She spotted Noah, his determined stride betraying the nerves that lurked beneath his stoic facade, as he prepared for the first supply run beyond the safety of Alexandria's walls.
"Hey, Noah," she called out, her voice cutting through the calm air.
Noah turned to face her, a flicker of surprise dancing in his eyes before a warm smile spread across his face. "Charlie, hey," he greeted, his tone tinged with genuine warmth.
"Good luck out there," Charlie offered, her words laced with sincerity. "And be careful, okay?"
Noah nodded, his expression grateful for her well-wishes. "Thanks, I'll do my best," he replied, his determination shining through despite the uncertainty that lay ahead. "Oh, and I talked with Reg...He wants to teach me engineering some," he remarked.
Charlie's eyes sparkled with excitement at the mention of his newfound opportunity. "Oh! That's great!"
"Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it," he admitted, his enthusiasm palpable. "It's a chance to learn something new, something that could really make a difference."
"I'm so proud," Charlie smiled and squeezed his arm.
Before he could respond, a familiar figure emerged from the bustling activity of Alexandria, catching both their attention. Glenn's presence brought a sense of reassurance, his steady gaze a beacon of strength amidst the uncertainty that loomed over them all. "Hey, Charlie," he greeted warmly, pulling her into a tight embrace.
As they parted, Charlie's gaze lingered on Glenn, a silent acknowledgment passing between them. "Good luck on the supply run," she wished him earnestly, her voice filled with genuine concern. "You, too, Tara."
He nodded and replied, his tone resolute. "We'll do what we have to do."
"You heard the guy," she smiled.
With a final wave, Tara joined Glenn and Noah at the gates, disappearing into the distance as the car rumbled to life and began its journey beyond the safety of Alexandria's walls. As Charlie watched them go, a sense of unease settled over her like a dark cloud, casting a shadow over the hope that had blossomed in her heart.
A sense of unease settled over her, prickling at the edges of her consciousness like unseen eyes watching from the shadows. She cast a wary glance around, her eyes scanning the shadows that danced at the edges of her vision, searching for any sign of the unseen presence that seemed to lurk just beyond her reach.
It only multiplied the feeling that something bad was about to happen. Sometimes she wished that she didn't have that strange feeling...
As the moon cast its gentle glow through the windows of the infirmary, bathing the room in a soft silver light, Charlie sat vigil by Tara's bedside, her heart heavy with worry. As she sat in the quiet darkness of the infirmary, Charlie reached out to grasp Tara's hand in her own, the warmth of their connection offering a fleeting sense of solace amidst the uncertainty that loomed over them.
As she sat beside Tara's unconscious form, the memory of Noah's infectious smile and unwavering determination echoed in her mind, a bittersweet reminder of the bond they had shared. She couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt gnaw at her conscience, knowing that she had failed to protect him, to shield him from the dangers that lurked beyond their sanctuary. She couldn't help but recall the way his eyes had sparkled with excitement as he spoke of his plans to learn engineering from Deanna's husband, his enthusiasm contagious as he shared his dreams for the future. In those moments, Noah had seemed so full of life, so full of hope, his spirit untouched by the darkness that lurked just beyond their sanctuary's walls.
But even as grief threatened to overwhelm her, Charlie forced herself to push aside her own sorrow, focusing instead on the task at hand. Tara needed her strength now more than ever.
So she whipped tears from her eyes and at the same moment the doors opened.
As she turned to see who it was, her gaze met the familiar figure of the man who had been bickering with Peter on the first day she arrived in Alexandria. Their eyes locked for a fleeting moment, a silent acknowledgment passing between them. With a nod of acknowledgment, the man moved silently past Charlie, his footsteps echoing in the quiet confines of the infirmary.
With a sigh, she gently lowered her head until it rested softly on the edge of the bed next to Tara's still form. The cool surface of the bed offered a small measure of comfort as Charlie closed her eyes, allowing herself a moment of respite from the relentless onslaught of worry and grief.
"Mom, dad, Finn, Will, Luke, Pete, Amy, Jim, Jacquie, Sophia, Shane, Patricia, Jimmy, Lori, T-Dog, Oscar, Axel, Merle, Andrea, Zach, Patrick, Hershel, Mika, Lizzie, Bob, Tyreese, Beth, Noah," she whispered. “Mom, dad, Finn, Will, Luke, Pete, Amy…”
As the first light of dawn filtered through the windows of the infirmary, Charlie stirred from her slumber, her body still heavy with exhaustion from the events of the previous night. Blinking away the remnants of sleep, she was surprised to find herself covered with a warm blanket, a silent gesture of comfort from an unknown benefactor.
“Are you okay?” an unknown voice asked.
Charlie looked up and saw a girl that was protected by the guy who was in the infirmary at night. Her hair was conveniently tied up at the back of his head. Her smile was nice and full of compassion for her. Charlie looked behind her to check if the guy was still here, but she noticed that he was gone.
“I'm hanging in there," she replied, her voice tinged with exhaustion. "Just worried, I guess.”
"I took care of her while you were sleeping," Denise said softly, her voice a soothing balm to Charlie's weary soul.
“Of course,” the girl nodded. “I’m Denise, by the way.”
“I’m Charlie.”
She just smiled. But their further conversation was interrupted by a sudden commotion outside, the sound of raised voices and hurried footsteps echoing through the quiet morning air. Sensing that something was amiss, Charlie rose to her feet, her instincts on high alert as she moved towards the door to investigate.
“Could you…”
“Yes,” Denise said. “Don’t worry.”
Peering outside, Charlie's heart sank at the sight that greeted her. A group of survivors had gathered near the gates, their faces drawn and weary as they spoke in urgent whispers amongst themselves. Whatever news they brought with them, Charlie knew that it could only mean trouble.
Charlie's heart raced with adrenaline as she watched in horror, her eyes widening in disbelief at the scene unfolding before her. The doctor pushed his wife, who was closer to them than Charlie. As Peter's rage turned towards Rick, his hands closing around his throat in a vice-like grip, Charlie's instincts kicked into overdrive. With a surge of adrenaline, she lunged forward, her voice rising in a desperate cry for help. "Rick?!"
Carl, fueled by a fierce protective instinct, rushed forward to help his father. His determination was evident in every movement as he attempted to intervene, to pry Peter away from Rick's grasp.
"Stop!" Carl shouted.
With a swift motion, Rick pushed Carl away, the force of the blow sending the young boy staggering backwards. Charlie's heart clenched with fear as she watched Carl stumble, his footing uncertain as he fought to regain his balance. Now, she was not only worried but also angry.
"Rick!"
Charlie knelt beside him, her heart still racing with fear and adrenaline. She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Carl nodded, though the determined glint in his eyes spoke volumes.
The sight of Rick and Peter locked in a violent struggle filled her with a sense of urgency, a desperate need to intervene and put an end to the chaos before it escalated further. However, it wasn’t her voice that said:
"Stop. Stop it right now," Deanna said. "I said stop!"
"Or what? You gonna kick me out?" Rick looked up at her, waving his gun.
"Put the gun down, Rick."
"You still don't get it. None of you do! We know what needs to be done and we do it. We're the ones who live,” Rick yelled. “You! You just sit and plan and hesitate! Pretend like you know when you don't! You wish things weren't what they are. Well, you want to live? You want this place to stay standing? Your way of doing things is done!” he screamed. “Things don't get better because you want them to. Starting right now, we have to live in the real world. We have to control who lives here."
"That's never been more clear to me than it is right now."
Charlie's heart clenched with fear at the thought of losing the sanctuary they had worked so hard to build, of being forced to fend for themselves once more in the unforgiving wilderness beyond the safety of their home.
But before she could voice her fears, a sudden movement caught her off guard. Michonne rushed forward to intervene. With a swift, decisive motion, she delivered a powerful blow to Rick's head, knocking him unconscious and bringing an abrupt end to the chaos. Charlie watched in stunned silence as Rick slumped to the ground, his body limp and motionless.
As Charlie sat in the kitchen, lost in thought after what happened between Rick and Peter, she was startled by the sound of footsteps approaching. Looking up, she saw Carl walking down the stairs, a determined look on his face. Carl greeted her, his voice tinged with nervousness. "Can I ask you something?"
"Did something happened?" she asked disturbed.
"No," he said with a sigh. "It's just...There's a girl."
"A girl?"
"Yeah," he nodded. "I like a girl. And I think she likes me, too."
"So? I don't understand where's the problem," she furrowed her brows, leaning forward.
Carl sighed, his expression clouded with worry. "The problem is... she has a boyfriend," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Oh."
Carl nodded, his shoulders slumping with the weight of his emotions. "Yeah," he muttered, his voice heavy with resignation. "And to make matters worse, her boyfriend is
"The guy whose brother is this little creep?"
"Sam?"
"Yes, this one," she said with a roll of her eyes. "Do you really like the girl?"
"Yes."
"Then fight for her," Charlie said.
"But what about Ron?"
"Who cares about Ron?!" she rolled her eyes. "What's her name?"
"Enid."
"Enid," she nodded. "We're in the middle of the end of the world. Do you really care about some boy?"
"But he's..."
"And you're Carl," she interrupted his words. "Show her that she has a choice. And she will decide."
As Charlie encouraged Carl to fight for Enid, she could see the weight lifting off his shoulders, replaced by a newfound sense of determination. Carl's eyes sparkled with gratitude as he looked at Charlie, a small smile playing on his lips.
The next day was the day that Charlie got kicked out of infirmary. By Rosita of course.
Charlie stared at the closed door, her heart pounding against her chest. She had spent countless days inside the shelter, hearing the muffled sounds of the outside world through thick walls. But today was different. Today, she made a decision - a decision to step out into the unknown...once again.
She was observing the road the group walked down not so long ago.
Taking a deep breath, she picked up a bow, feeling its weight in her hands. Olivia noted that she took her weapon and smiled nicely. Her heart pounded in her chest as she wrestled with her thoughts. Should she step outside? The safety of the shelter beckoned her to stay, to remain within the confines of its protective walls. But deep down, she knew that she couldn't stay hidden forever.
As she pushed open the gate and stepped outside, a rush of adrenaline surged through her veins. She took a deep breath, letting the crisp air fill her lungs.
The world outside was quiet and still, however, she was trying to hear the distant moans of the undead. As she walked deeper into the woods, Charlie's senses sharpened, attuned to every subtle movement and sound. She could hear the chirping of birds overhead, the rustle of small creatures scurrying through the underbrush. Satisfied that she was alone, she unslung her bow and notched an arrow, her movements fluid and practiced. Drawing back the string, she took aim at a distant tree, her eyes narrowed in concentration.
With a steady breath, she released the arrow, watching as it soared through the air. Her first few shots missed their mark by a wide margin, the arrows landing harmlessly in the dirt. But with each miss, she adjusted her aim, learning from her mistakes. And slowly, but surely, her shots began to improve.
As Charlie drew back the string of her bow, her focus sharpened on the approaching figure. Her heart pounded in her chest as she prepared to release the arrow, her muscles tense with anticipation. But as she let go, her mind played a cruel trick on her, transforming the walker into someone she once knew - Sophia.
Horror and grief mingled within her, threatening to overwhelm her senses. The arrow sailed harmlessly past the walker, embedding itself in a nearby tree trunk leaving the waker unarmed. Trembling, Charlie lowered her bow, her hands shaking with a mixture of fear and sorrow.
Before she could react, a walker lunged out from the shadows, its decaying hands reaching for her. With a sickening thud, she hit the ground, the impact knocking the breath from her lungs. Panic surged through her as she grappled with the undead creature, its foul stench overwhelming her senses.
In a moment of clarity, she realized the truth - this was no imagined threat, no trick of her mind. It was a walker, a mindless husk driven by instinct and hunger. With a surge of determination, Charlie summoned every ounce of strength within her and reached for her bowie knife. With a swift motion, she plunged the blade into the walker's skull, the satisfying crunch of bone echoing through the clearing. She sobbed and with a groan pushed the dead body off of her.
The forest seemed to close in around her, the shadows dancing menacingly in the fading light. Every rustle of leaves, every whisper of wind, sent her nerves into overdrive, her mind conjuring images of more walkers lurking in the darkness. Tears welled in her eyes as she struggled to catch her breath, the weight of her anxiety pressing down upon her like a suffocating blanket. Panic gripped her in its icy embrace, rendering her helpless against its onslaught.
Charlie hurried through the gates of Alexandria, her chest still tight with anxiety from her ordeal in the forest. The familiar sights and sounds of the community offered some semblance of comfort, but she couldn't shake the lingering fear that gnawed at her insides.
"Hey, Charlie, you okay? You look shaken up," Olivia asked, her voice filled with genuine concern.
Without waiting for a response, Charlie turned on her heel and hurried away, the weight of her fear pressing down upon her like a leaden cloak. She couldn't face the questions, couldn't bear to relive the terror of what had transpired in the forest.
Lost in her own turmoil, Charlie rounded a corner without paying attention to her surroundings, and collided with someone coming from the opposite direction. The force of the impact sent both of them stumbling backward, nearly losing their balance. The collision with stranger triggered a sudden flood of memories, the vivid image of the walker lunging towards her flashing before her eyes. Panic seized her once more, her breath coming in short, ragged gasps as she was on the ground, screaming.
She could feel the weight of its decaying hands upon her, the stench of death filling her nostrils as if it were happening all over again.
"Hey, hey, hey," said male voice. Charlie's heart still raced with residual fear, but the stranger's calm demeanor began to steady her nerves. She nodded shakily, unable to find her voice to respond."It's okay," the stranger continued, their tone reassuring. "You're safe now. Take a deep breath."
Charlie looked into warm eyes of a stranger. She took a deep breath trying to calm her insides, soon she was breathing with the man.
"That's right. Are you okay now?" he asked. The man was looking at her with eyes of a warm shade of brown that sparkled in the sun. He had a handsome face, even though dark circles were visible on a pale skin of his face. "What's your name? My..."
Despite his comforting presence, the fear that had gripped her heart refused to loosen its hold. With a trembling breath, she pushed herself to her feet. Charlie raced through the streets of Alexandria, her mind a whirlwind of confusion and fear. She climbed up the stairs of her house and locked herself in the bathroom. She sank to the ground, her chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath. Tears welled in her eyes as she berated herself for her irrational behavior, for fleeing from someone who had only sought to help. But the fear that gripped her heart refused to be reasoned with, a relentless force that threatened to consume her whole.
Alone in the darkness, Charlie wrapped her arms around herself, seeking solace in the embrace of her own trembling form. She wished Daryl was here.
As she sat in the soft embrace of the darkness, Charlie allowed herself to reflect on the events that had brought them to this point, the struggles and sacrifices that had defined their journey thus far.
Lost in her thoughts, Charlie found herself drawn to the flickering candles that lined the altar, their gentle light a beacon of hope amidst the darkness that surrounded them.
"Before you ask me...I came here again, I don't know what to do," she said as she heard the steps. "I'm losing my head. Can you help me?"
"No."
"Some days...I just want to die."
"Why wouldn't you want to die? You don't deserve to be here. What you did can never be undone. The dead don't choose, but the choices you made, how you sacrificed your own..." Gabriel said.
For a moment, she was taken aback by the harshness of his tone, the weight of his accusation hanging heavy in the air between them. Her heart pounded with a mixture of surprise and confusion as she struggled to make sense of his words. Why would Gabriel, the terrified priest who wanted to gain her sympathy and trust, speak to her with such venomous intent?
But as the realization dawned upon her, Charlie felt a surge of anger rising within her, hot and fierce. Gabriel's words were a calculated attack, a deliberate attempt to provoke a reaction from her, to draw out the darkness that lurked beneath the surface of her calm exterior. "I know what you're doing."
"Everyone you lost...Were destroyed because of your sins."
"Stop it."
The words struck Charlie like a physical blow, igniting a firestorm of anger within her. How dare he judge her, condemn her for actions he couldn't possibly understand?
"People that deserve to be here, aren't here! Because of you! Bob! Tyreese!"
As fury boiled within her, Charlie's vision blurred with rage. Without a second thought, she lunged forward, her hands grasping Gabriel's shoulders as she pushed him forcefully against the cold stone wall of the church. Charlie unleashed a torrent of blows upon Gabriel, her fists raining down upon him with relentless force. She felt a sickening satisfaction wash over her, a perverse sense of vindication in the act of violence she had unleashed.
With trembling hands, Charlie reached for the hilt of her knife, her fingers closing around the cold metal with a sense of grim determination. For a moment, she hesitated, her hand hovering above Gabriel's prone form as she wrestled with the conflicting emotions warring within her.
"Do it."
Every instinct screamed for her to lash out, to exact vengeance for the pain and suffering she had endured. But deep down, she knew that killing Gabriel would only perpetuate the cycle of violence that had consumed their world, leaving behind nothing but more heartache and despair.
As her fingers tightened around the knife, Charlie felt a surge of guilt and remorse wash over her, threatening to drown her in a sea of regret. She knew that she was teetering on the edge of a precipice, poised to plunge into the abyss of her own darkness.
"Charlie!" Maggie called her name. She wrapped her fingers around Charlie's tightly clenched around her knife.
“Let go,” Sasha said with a firm voice. “Get up. Charlie. Charlie! Up!”
"You should have let her," Gabe cried out. "They died. They all died because of me."
"They did," Charlie said as she knelt next to him, but Sasha was ready to jump to action. "And you're a coward, priest."
Gun shot.

hiii I wanna talk about wireplay
continuation under the cut
fun fact I'm very new to Tumblr so I didn't know how to 'cut' a post quote un quote so. glad I know how to do that now. I feel like a pro.
anyway WIREPLAY
I had a specific idea in mind that I wanted to talk about that could be hot but also comedic? fic writers pay attention
so like most wireplay fics that I've read have a sort of 'danger' element to them.
(obviously I'm talking about ultrakill because I'm a certified ultrakill girlie but this could apply to any robots really)
like wedging your fingers in between plates and fingering important components. there's always that element of not knowing what you're doing and one wrong move could put a robotic partner out of commission or cripple them. that sort of deal. but in every fic I've written it never happens.
when it comes to only one partner being robotic (like in the case of gabv1el or Gabe x v2, in this case) that danger would need to be communicated, obviously, or Gabriel would probably infer that using, ya know. logic. so even tho he doesn't know what he's doing he is aware that there's a risk to fucking around in his partner's wires.
ok here's where the actual idea part comes in. what if he does accidentally fuck something up. like, especially mobility-wise. like they're in the middle of some bed-breaking sex and all of a sudden v1 can't move because Gabriel unplugged some important wires and suddenly they either can't move at all or can't move very quickly. it takes a second for Gabriel to realize but when he does he's like "oh. OH." and is apologizing profusely.
its not like it can't be fixed and eventually after some panicking they end up laughing about it but I thought it could be funny.
could also play into noncon elements if you're into that but I'm thinking more along the comedic end. might write my own Drabble along those lines. but anyway. happy writing let's all have fun yeah?

♕ — What does leading a ‘good’ life mean to your muse? Are they satisfied with the choices they make?
♡  — How would your muse define love? Do they believe in soulmates? Do they believe this definition of love is achievable?
Tumblr media
❇ life philosophy headcanons.
Tumblr media
♕ — {{ This one is very different in Hazbin Hotel, because his job is actually not just to obey orders and it hasn't been for a very long time-- now he has to make them. He is, effectively, one of the councilmen in this universe. He is beneath, literally in terms of pecking order, ONLY Sera and Michael. And even Michael is more of a checks and balances kind of system, they "stand beside each other at the throne of God", like balancing scales.
So instead of simply following orders, now he's saddled with the struggle of trying to interpret God's word. Usually, from ages ago, unless its a verse with an active Father muse. He's the messenger, he's the Will of God ( executive branch ), he's the record keeper, the miracle worker, and the one who decides the End of Days.
So to him to be "good" in his context, to put it simply, is to do his job well enough that people don't get hurt because of him!
Hazbin!Gabe also said " I want to be good " when he was first created, but his summarizing quote specifically here is I think " I want to be someone worth having faith in. " reflecting his existence as a real life religious figure who many people devote themselves to in this world. Unlike Ultrakill, this is THE Archangel Gabriel who delivered a messiah, who told the prophets what to do and where to go, who brought comfort to saints in their dreams, etc etc. People believe in him!
And I think this is why Hazbin!Gabe has a much stronger focus on living up to responsibility and taking responsibility for your own actions, which he then projects onto how he perceives sinners and their redemption.
------------------------------
♡  — Oooouugh this one is interesting lol
Because... I think its fair to say that God's concept of the word "love" is often extremely different from a human perception of it.
There's a painting I'm obsessed with, its called "Divine Love Conquering Earthly Love" and this painting was painted over the top of a painting of Michael slaying Lucifer. That alone is poetry, especially for the Hazbin world, and I like to think Gabe has this painting in his office with all his other religious artwork-- but what this means is that divine love is this unattainable, purely selfless, and often strangely detached since of compassion. Its almost an oxymoron-- its detached affection. But of course, its useful because its morally good, it avoids deliberate spite, but it also doesn't stop an angel from wanting to let bad fates happen to people. An angel MUST practice divine love just to function. You cannot love humanity, in a human way, but also let it hurt itself.
And so when Gabriel was made, this was the only kind of love he knew how to give. Gabriel had to LEARN "Earthly Love", selfish love, genuine interpersonal attachment. And that took centuries of trial and error lmao. Especially because he resisted it, because its potentially dangerous.
He can't pick favorites. He can't. He has a responsibility to the world and he cannot have favorites.
But... the older he's getting, the more... sentimental he's evidently becoming.
Case in point, Lucid lmao-- }}

GOOD OMENS S2 SPOILERS!!!
This season of good omens is so good. List to follow:
"He's not allowed to stop the execution of 3 children bc the system that agreed to kill them has a permit" like that is the best satire I've heard since Shakespeare
Non stop foreshadowing of Beezlebub X Gabriel. Like it's so obvious so early on. Flies near him, him not wanting to kill them, it hurts to remember, you're perfect.
Aziraphel crying when he thinks he's a demon after lying is such a great first stake in the heart of solidifying that he thinks Crowley is still an angel and won't accept him as he is. More to that, it is so good at showing how that all stems from his own internalized fear. A very queer experience mirrored here...purity something something. Mr. Fell is afraid of falling.
Crowly is very cunty this season. The posts are right
AZ drives like crowley
AZ writing in his diary about his and crowleys dates like a teen girl. Bonus that it's a date to a graveyard to look at a picture of his old boss and they end up in a diseased alley and help a wee lesbian steal a corps. And still writing about it like it was a super cute date solely bc his crush got drunk and acted a fool. Same place for the Beezlebub Gabe date extra bonus
They let Tennant be scottish!
Crowley having a night rider moment
Aziraphel being genuinely in love with humanity and holding the jar close to himself in grief at the doctor's has me emotional. He really does have too much love for one tiny little angel.
Crowley having the time of his life making those two humans fall in love. He loves mischief but he hates harm. He loves to see humans happy and he only shows it when he's alone
Aziraphels debut as a Magician!
Aterik is gender envy. Don't argue with me
Mark Gatiss zombie. No I am not lying not even a little.
Crowley fell for AZ when he gave away the sword but he falls farther every time AZ does a little more good. The way he said " thank you for getting me off the hook back there" was so flirtatious and the smile when AZ knocks over shit in the Magic shop. Hats off the both actors
Old man crowley
Lmao crowley seeing the miracles don't work and deciding to speed read how not to kill his boyfriend XD
The shaky breathing as crowley aims the rifle. There is more tension in that scene than most horror I've seen.
AZIRAPALALALA
Lmao the car is a puppy
Shax being a bad bitch and not underestimating Aziraphels love for his bookshop. 10k demons is called for when sieging that place.
AZ getting things done while crowley fucks around in the back or vise versus is a common scene dynamic
AZ quoting DW trivia like tennant does.
This whole season is about how they realize how much they love each other and having a crisis about it while hell and heaven interrupt with issues regarding 1 John ham
The long running joke in the show is that all the angel's pretend they know a lot about humans as a show of power
Much more miracles and it's awesome.
Not even the seamstress is straight
Azs shop changing into a ball was so distracting to crowley that he momentarily forgot about the army of demons coming for them
John hamm fluffy coat
Crowley reading terms and agreements comes in handy several times
"Happy anniversary, love" I'm screaming and crying I am so full. This season said OK please make this queer friendly. "You're a good lad" "not either" my trans ass is so happy
Also this season is still so ace even though they kiss it still feels very ace energy to me. Maybe it's just the lack of sexualized anything, or maybe it's the variety of body's that so rarely get shown on TV.
Crowleys heaven sneak
"Stay back"
One demon popped like a bubble. There was a sound effect and everything
The bad guys always say things that fucking hurt. They always have the right thing that cut to the core of the characters soft spots
Halo removal should be in more of the fanfics actually that scene was baller
If you watch as all the heaven and hell fight AZ cannot stop staring at crowley
Crowley fixing the bookshop so it stays the same, while AZ changes it. Symbolism something parallels something
Sheen's delivery of the news to crowley was so well done. It's joyful, yet the second he has to tell crowley you can see the hesitation. He doesn't even believe what he's saying. It starts to hurt and he doesn't know why. But hes already agreed. He needed to hear the girls talk more than crowley did and it shows.no notes

It's been like almost a full week since episode 8 came out and WOW. Just WOW.
The fight with Ares was exactly how I imagined it as a child and more. The way Percy immediately got his ass headed to him only to go full Moana perfection. Also the actor for Ares is a former WWE wrestler, so when Percy is like I wanna fight i'm like boy he will break your skull.
Alecto maybe a bitch but she's one of the cool ones and possibly in my top ten of antagonists who aren't really antagonists they just have different morals.
Did I cry when Annabeth gave Percy her necklace? Yes. They quoted the scene of her giving it to him, word for word.
Luke teaching Percy to sword fight and give him advice was so cute only to be riped to shreds at the climax, but we'll get there.
Olympus looks like something out of a video game and to be honest, I don't really like it that much because it doesn't really give me this is the land of the gods. It looks gorgeous, but not something i'd for this show. I personally prefer the one for the movie. I know sue me, but it gave more of what ancient Greece would have actually looked like. One of three things the movie did right. BUT the throne room spot on ten out of ten.
Also Zeus just chilling in his throne waiting for Percy, beautiful. The actors whole demeanor while playing Zeus is so intemanating yet ignorant. This maybe one my favorite irradiation of Zeus. But the way Poseidon protected Percy from Zeus AND surrendered to Zeus for his son, someone just one the Best godly parent of the year award. This meeting or reunion of Percy and Poseidon was too perfecto. Percy calling Poseidon dad in ANCIENT GREEK no less. Also the way how Poseidon holds him self while talking to Percy you can see the pain, fearfullness, and proudness all in the actors face. The cast in this is so good. You can also see how Poseidon just wants to scoop Percy up in a hug and protect him. Why does this show play with my heart strings.
The batrayal is prefect. With everything to Percy's realization in the way Luke looks at Annabeth when she reveals herself. This is better then using the scorpion because it adds more emotional depth and you can feel just the pain coming from Luke. Also when Percy was like we met your father and Luke just snapped. I got chills but also laughed out loud because if Lin was my father i'd have issues too.
I bawled when the trip split up at the end, all of them have grown so much. Also Annabeth going to Disney World, you know that's the photo the Percy will have in his notebook, guaranteed. Also Grover's searcher license being a flower is too adorable.
The reunion between Sally and Percy also destroyed me. It was all the emotions. As I said before this show is phenomenal and it wouldn't be anything with its cast. Where's the award for this show gods Damit.
Cronos just invading Percy's dream and Percy just going full Persassy on his dusty titan ass was perfect. Not Sally with the Dream Journal though. Also I'm probably the only one, but I forgot that Percy was Seventh grade.
The ending with Gabe becoming stone not because Sally had enough, but because of his disrespect and lack of being a decent human being was what he deserved.
In total I cried 7 times probably because I can't believe this season is over. This show is full of so much passion and you can feel it. It has some faults was piece of media adapting a popular series doesn't, but this does the books justice and it intorduces the story to a wider audience. Though a longer episode count would be much appreciated.
If this doesn't get a award I throwing hands anyways, good morrow fellow fans, hyperfixators, and all the others in between.

I know I said a while ago that I wanted to write some of my thoughts on the New Percy Jackson show out, but as time went on, I found myself having less time to actually sit down and watch it. However, now, I have finally finished the show (perhaps more than once, lmao), and I have a lot to share about it! Far more than I originally thought I would, to be honest. Honestly, I spent a couple of days watching everything over again and ended up starting and ending my first embroidery project since the pandemic started, which felt pretty good as it helped me absorb a lot more information as I worked. And, while I would love nothing more than to just word vomit everything out of my brain, I find myself physically incapable of leaving everything out of order now that I’ve had the time to properly think things over (certainly not due to the fact that I’ve been plotting story ideas for the last few weeks and can’t think of leaving anything disorganized right now). Instead of nonsensical paragraphs, I figured I would take things in four separate sections - my opinions on the characters, the castings I hope we get in the future, my favorite quotes, and a small snippet of how I would see things going down if I were to write this AU.
So, without further ado, I’m going to start off strong with…
Tumblr media
My Character Takes:
Right off the bat, I adored Percy (Walker Scobell). I may be biased as I chose Walker as my sort of faceclaim for Bentley, but this child has Percy’s personality to a tee. I knew from watching him act alongside Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project that he would be perfect not only for Bentley, but also for Percy and, when I finally got to see him as Percy, I knew I was right. From the iconic first line to the final moment of the series, he had me hooked. Though I missed the absolutely iconic “This is a pen!” quote from the movie, I feel like they got pretty much everything right for Percy. So many of his one-liners made me pause to laugh because I wouldn't have heard anything that was said afterward if I hadn’t, but he also has the right amount of seriousness and professionalism in certain scenes to make Percy come to life. I doubt Rick Riordan could have found a better Percy if they tried, and I can’t wait to see him in season 2.
Now, for Percy’s parents, Sally and Poseidon. Sally (Virginia Kull) was brilliant, and her interactions with Percy felt perfectly motherly and sweet while also having a vivid personality all her own. Watching back over the show after seeing it through the first time, I picked up on a lot more subtle hints at her mental struggle as a “single” mother of a demigod (she did remarry, and I’ll touch on that in a moment). I feel like watching it back over sort of gave me the full picture and I love that little touch. Now, Poseidon (Toby Stephens, Dame Maggie Smith’s son) was also incredible. I feel like, although we didn’t see much of Poseidon initially, the way he acted was very telling of his situation (being unable to see or interact with Percy without Zeus’ permission for fear of starting another huge war), and it felt like there was a definite desire and regret that he couldn’t have stuck around for his son (if not for Sally as well).
As for Percy’s stepfather, Gabe Ugliano (Timm Sharp), I feel like they may have tamed him a bit from the book as a way to avoid triggering anybody who grew up in an abusive household, but they still kept him on the despicable side. I always hated him, but I do feel like they could have made him worse. Instead of the bigoted, poker-playing asshole we meet in the books, we get a bit more of an idiot who wastes his money on online poker and sits around all day. I like that they kept his ending the way it was, but I sort of wish it played a bigger role in Sally's story going forward. Who knows; maybe it will in the future, but I wish they delved more into his character being genuinely a disgusting human being rather than just a loser.
Now, even though I don’t want to go too into detail on them because I don’t want to spoil anything in case you care to watch this show later on (highly recommended as there’s no need to read the books to see what’s going on), I want to touch on some of the campers and Percy’s friends. Ironically, I’ll be starting with Clarisse LaRue (Dior Goodjohn). Clarisse is the take-no-shit-and-start-shit daughter of Ares, the god of war, and is also the counselor of his cabin (Cabin 5). She’s very combative, competitive, and aggressive, which we find out is because she wants her dad to favor her despite her being a girl and all his “favorites” being boys. As stated in the show, he doesn’t even really like his kids, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to gain favor. Dior was a great choice for Clarisse, and I have to say, I think she did her great justice. The actor they had in the movies (well, movie as she was only in one despite her character being in more of the books) was good, but she wasn’t nearly as aggressive, feisty, and tough as Dior’s. Honestly, 10/10.
Luke Castellan is one character I couldn’t wait to see come to life, and Charlie Bushnell did an amazing job with him. He is the son of Hermes, the god of messengers, travelers, and thieves, and Luke is, like Clarisse, the head of his cabin (Cabin 11). Luke is one of the best, multi-faceted characters in not only the books, but in this show as well. Though he doesn’t appear in many episodes, I feel as though his character is one we’ll definitely be watching closely as time goes by. Regardless, Charlie did amazing in his portrayal of Luke, and I think he handled everything really well!
I know a lot of people weren’t thrilled when Leah Sava Jeffries was cast as Annabeth Chase (daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy - Cabin 6), but I trusted Rick’s choice in casting her as he said he knew she was the best choice for Annabeth. I have to say, he was right; she was incredible! Her interactions with everyone, the subtle ways she showed that she knew more than she was letting on, and her acting overall was great for Annabeth. I love that they included her Yankees cap as well, something I wish they had in the movies. Leah was amazing, Annabeth truly came to life, and I’m very excited to see how everything pans out!
Speaking of pans, we have Grover Underwood, a hopeful searcher for Pan, the god of the wild, satyrs, and folk music. While Grover is not related to Pan, his goal is to become a searcher so that he can follow his family’s legacy of searching for the missing god of the wild. Now, I actually loved the way the movies made Grover, but I think they did pretty well with him in the show as well. There is a certain scene I wish they had kept from the movie, but with how they made Gabe Ugliano in the show, I’m not entirely surprised they took it out. It would have been hilarious, though! I do have to say that Aryan Simhadri did an amazing job and that I was very pleased with his performance overall!
For the Greek gods that we met this season, I want to start off with the now-passed Lance Reddick, who played Zeus, the god of the sky, thunder, lightning, kingship, honor, and justice (Cabin 1). It’s sad that he never was able to watch his character come to life on screen, but he did a pretty great job in the one episode he was in. The looming threat of his presence throughout the episodes was a very effective build-up to actually meeting him in the end. He was a good choice for Zeus and, while I’m upset he won’t be in any future seasons, his acting was great. I’m sure they’ll find someone to do him good justice in the future, but those will be big shoes to fill as far as the rest of the cast will be concerned, I’m sure.
As I’ve already touched on Poseidon, I’m going to skip over to Hephaestus, the god of fire, forges, sculpture, metalworking, stone masonry, carpenters, technology, artisans, and volcanoes (Cabin 9). Hephaestus is pretty much an outsider from the Olympian family as he doesn’t really bother with the drama of Olympus, and Timothy Omudson does a great job of showing this in his simplistic, yet interesting approach. I found myself wanting to sit and talk with him - get his take on everything, in a way. Unlike some of the other gods we hear about/meet, he seems to think fairly reasonably and is pretty sympathetic, something I really liked about this portrayal of Hephaestus.
Ares is next on my list and, while I was never a huge fan of the character as the Greek myth was originally labelled as a protector of mistreated women and this version Ares was just an asshole, I feel like Adam Copeland made me like him. The first time I watched the episode we meet him in, I just sat there laughing at his personality, but the second time around, I had to wonder how on earth I found myself genuinely sort of enjoying watching him. Though I’m still not big on him overall, as his treatment of his own children is pretty shit, I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy seeing him. Also, when he talked about different wars in the diner, it felt like I was listening to my dad in history class all over again, and I kind of enjoyed that. Anyway, he was chaotic and crazy, but he has great taste in motorcycles, and I actually enjoyed him overall. Adam Copeland did a great job not making me fully hate him.
Finally, I want to talk about Hermes, who was played by none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda. When I saw that he was on the cast list, my immediate thought was Apollo, but I ended up loving him as Hermes. I wish we had seen more of him, but honestly, that’s just my Hamilton brain screeching to be let out, as I know he wasn’t supposed to be in many, if any, of the episodes this season because they were following the books. Honestly, though, Lin was incredible, Hermes was incredible, and I hope we see more of him going forward!

Future Castings:
Firstly, I want to say that my biggest hope is to see Sam Claflin as Apollo! His personality in The Hunger Games was all I needed to see, honestly. He would be perfect for Apollo, and I hope that’s who we get, but if not, I’ll just have to trust the process.
Tumblr media
My top pick for Thalia Grace (and a semi-popular one I’ve seen floating around) is Momona Tamada.
Tumblr media
I could see Zoë Saldaña, Tessa Thompson, or Danai Gurira as Athena. I don’t have a solid choice, but I could see them working really well as they have to play Annabeth’s mom, and they all could pull that off pretty well.
Tumblr media
For Aphrodite, I have a variety of ideas. Gemma Chan could be pretty good, but so could Florence Pugh, Elizabeth Olsen, or Indya Moore. I feel like there are so many ways they could pull it off, but regardless of who they choose, I’m sure it’ll be great. (There is no official artwork for her, so I’m using the picture from Rick Riordan’s website, but she is known to change her appearance as she pleases)
Tumblr media
One character I’m sure we won't see for a while, but I’d still enjoy, would be either Sadie Sink or Erin Kellyman for Rachel Elizabeth Dare. I doubt either actress will end up being chosen, as it’ll probably be a while before we get to season 3, but they were my top choices for her.
Tumblr media
Now, I don’t have many ideas for anyone else, but I’m sure the cast will be amazing no matter what.

Quotes:
I had a lot of quotes from the show that I absolutely loved, but I forgot to write down which episodes they came from as I wrote more in the second time around and they got a bit jumbled on paper. I remember who said most of them and I was originally going to write that in as well, but I think I could use some of them later on, so I’ll just leave them nameless for now. Some of them, you can tell who could be part of the conversation if you pay attention to the names mentioned, but others are up in the air. Besides, the quotes alone are great, in my book. The different formats symbolize different people talking, as I couldn’t figure out a better way in the larger conversation points, but the ones where there’s only one person are just plain text.
--
“She fought valiantly, and she met a hero's fate.”
“She met a pinecone's fate.”
--
“So you're not a monster, what are you then?”
“A survivor.”
--
“It's not here.”
“We know. Yeah, glory's fine. Revenge is more fun.”
--
“Why is there half a goat in your pants?”
“Oh, it's... Oh! Oh, boy, she didn't tell you about... You didn't tell him about me?”
“You're early.”
“So the important thing is not to panic.”
--
“Look, this is a bad idea. They will see this as impertinent.”
“I am impertinent.”
--
“Not everyone who looks like a hero is a hero, and not everyone who looks like a monster is a monster.”
--
“He was a god.”
“You fell in love with God? Like Jesus?”
--
“I want him to know who he is before your family tries to tell him who they want him to be. He is better than that. He has better things in him than that.”
--
“This is Percy Jackson.”
“Yeah, Grover, I heard him the first time.”
“But did you?”
--
“It was your father who warned me to stay away. Said it was awful watching you struggle and feel powerless to stop it. But that sometimes… that’s what parenting is.”
--
“Are you stalking me, Annabeth?”
*shrugs* “Yes.”
--
“Look, I get that Nancy has issues, I’m just getting tired of her taking them out on me. I feel like… maybe it’s time to do something about it.”
“You could make an appointment to see Mr. Kane. He’s really good at talking-”
“I was thinking more like shoving Nancy in the nearest dumpster.”
“Oh.”
--
“I have a job!”
“Losing at imaginary poker?”
--
“Give me a second, I’m just starting a fight on Twitter.”
--
“I warned you, if you're not careful, you'll find out who I am.”
--
“Poseidon has ignored me my entire life.”
“You are his son!”
“I am Sally Jackson’s son!”
--
“Two things you never wanna be are small and scary at the same time. Things that are small and scary...get squished.”
--
“So, do we have a deal, or am I killing all three of you so I can eat in peace?”
“Ok.”
“Great!”
--
“Do you know what that feels like? To be so close to someone you love, knowing neither of you has any choice but to keep hurting each other?”
--
“I’m gonna kill him.”
“I knew I was gonna like you.”
--
“Is there a Greek god of disappointment? Maybe someone should ask him if he’s missing a kid.”
--
“This thing, Zeus's master bolt, we need to get it back, right?”
“Yes.”
“And it's gonna be hard to get, yes?”
“Extraordinarily.”
“And if the mission required someone to push me down a flight of stairs for it to succeed... you'd want someone who won't hesitate when they do it.”
--
“He isn’t here. My father, he just… didn’t show. I mean, ignoring me is one thing, but he doesn’t get to ignore you. I’m gonna make him come down here. I’m gonna make him see me. I’m gonna make him see us both.”
--
“No one comes ba~ack.”
“Dude! Don't make me come back out there!”
--
“You really don’t want the bolt?”
“Why would I want that?”
“To start a war between your brothers.”
“Why would I want that?!”
“Jealousy!”
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it’s all candy canes and rainbows down here. I don’t really do jealous.”
--
“Take your victory. Just spare my son.”
--
“Obedience doesn’t come naturally to you, does it?”
“No… sir.”
“I must take some of the blame, I suppose. The sea does not like to be restrained.”
--
“Ares is a moron. Perhaps you noticed?”

AU Idea:
I know I've said before that I didn't have much of an idea of what I'd write if I did this AU, but I think watching the books come to life a bit has altered that. I've gone through some of the books again and sort of figured out what I would want to see happen, so I figured I would put it all out here while I'm at it. Some things in my original post have changed, such as their parents, but I also have a basic timeline down as well. I feel like the vibes would be very similar to that of Camp Wanamaker as I plan on keeping things mostly around the camp at first, but there will be some big exploration further down the road as I develop an actual storyline. I do plan on going more in-depth on topics that haven't been brought up in the show/movies as I figure that would make it easier not just for me, but also for you. I have a lot of ideas, but I'll try to work it down to the first couple of chapter ideas as I haven't gone through the whole story's plot yet.
For starters, I think I would have Royce be the new kid at camp - an almost sixteen-year-old who was brought to camp by an adult demigod who rescued him from a monster on a field trip (Butchy, son of Zeus). He's pushed head-first into camp activities, and soon finds himself getting stalked by a pair of younger demigods who have been at camp for some time and have already been claimed (Bentley, son of Apollo, and Kona, daughter of Iris). The kids eventually corner him outside the Unclaimed Child portion of the Hermes cabin (where he'll reside until his godly parent claims him) and encourage him to try different cabins until he finds a good fit. Despite claiming the whole thing is nothing but a dream he'll eventually wake up from, Royce allows the pair to drag him around, starting from the top and working his way down.
Zeus, Hera, and Poseidon's cabins are all quickly dismissed, but before he can get much further, things at camp slow to a stop as the Hunters of Artemis arrive, having been told to stay at camp until the return of their leader and goddess, Artemis. Kona is quick to tail the Hunters, trying her hardest to find acceptance within the female-only group while some others stray to their original cabins to visit their former siblings. Upon asking why the Hunters seem to be a group of relatively young girls, Bentley brings Royce to his older half-brother Miles (head counselor of Apollo's cabin) who explains that the Hunters are maidens (which can be human, god, demigod, or nymph) who have sworn loyalty to the maiden goddess Artemis. They reject love for as long as they live and, in return, gain eternal youth and semi-immortality as long as they don't break their vows, or are slain in battle. There are some who leave if they fall in love, but very few do.
Not long after, the campers and Hunters are pushed into a game of rather brutal game of Capture the Flag, where Royce encounters a small group of Hunters who take pity on him as the new kid, a tall brunette girl with a silver circlet on her head giving him a hand up when the others in her group leave the area (Vivien, Hunter of Artemis and daughter of Hecate, goddess of magic, crossroads, necromancy, and the night). During dinner that night, Royce meets her at the fire as he puts in an offering to his still unknown parent and asks the girl some questions, trading names and finding out her previous cabin before she suggests he not push his luck befriending any of the hunters as they won't be around for long, and heads back to her table, leaving him more than a little intrigued.
I do have a bit more written out, but for now, I'm going to keep it there. However, I'm still going to show some of the parental changes I've made since my last post about this idea. There are only three, but they're there. I also have some plans to add in some of my other characters that I don't write as much, if at all, but they'll come in later on as I haven't quite decided where to put them.
Kona has gone from the daughter of Poseidon to the daughter of Iris (goddess of the Rainbow and messenger of the gods). I changed this because, although I love the idea of Kona just railing people with water when they do stupid stuff, the thought of her being this artsy, hippie-esque little girl who habitually makes friendship bracelets for new campers, who enjoys going around scaring people by turning the world black-and-white or momentarily blinding them with sunbeams. It's also known that children of Iris are great with art/creativity and have a strong connection with pegasi, so I can just picture her trying to use paint or something to give each of the pegasi cutie marks like in My Little Pony or giving them dyed manes/tails.
Vivien has a change of pace as well, going from the daughter of Athena to the daughter of Hecate and a Hunter of Artemis. The Hunter part is a relatively big plot point in the story as, like I said, they give up love in favor of aiding with the Hunt. However, I'll dive into that when I write the story. For now, I'll focus on the Hecate part. Hecate is the goddess of magic, as I've said before, and where Vivien is a collector of crystals in every universe and is great with magic in my Hocus Pocus AU, I feel it's a great fit. Another thing nudging me toward this is the idea that Hecate can be a tough parent, and her children must prove their worth and study hard to master their skills in magic. I feel like Vivien's already established, rocky relationship with her mom in my other stories would come into play in this as well, perhaps playing a role in her decision to become a Hunter.
Another change that I didn't mention in the snippet above was Mick. Mick was originally the daughter of Hephaestus, but I've since changed that as I feel it makes more sense in the way I've fixed it. Now, she is the Roman descendant (otherwise known as a legacy) of Minerva (Athena's counterpart) and Vulcan (Hephaestus' counterpart). Her mother, Mack, was the daughter of Minerva, and her father, Brady, was the grandson of Vulcan. This means that Mick is not at Camp Half-Blood in New York (the camp for the children of Greek gods), but at Camp Jupiter in California (the camp for the descendants of Roman gods), something I feel suits her fairly well and gives her a deeper storyline with not only Butchy, but also her usual friends.

Final notes:
Now, in case you haven’t noticed, I adored this show as a whole! One of my nephews who hasn’t read the books, finally had the chance to watch it, and loved it nearly as much as I did, which is pretty telling. I love that even people who haven’t had an interest/read the books, are loving this show. It’s just great! I have to say, the show is pretty good at explaining everything as they go and making everything feel as though it’s flowing properly. As if it weren’t obvious by now, I highly recommend watching the first season! It’s a great show overall, everything felt realistic, and it gave me a lot of ideas for the future (which, as you can probably tell, might include a Percy Jackson AU of some kind). Anyway, I loved it and plan on going back to rewatch it more as time goes by, but for now, I’m going to end my ramblings and go back to my little one-off story that I haven’t touched in what feels like forever!

Miraculous Awakening Movie - Review
WARNING
There are big spoilers in the text below and its author sucks at expressing her opinion which, guess what, absolutely no one asked for!!!
When this movie was announced, not only I struggled to welcome it as it was hard to understand how this would fit with the universe of the show, but also the character design was just odd. We adore the one from the series so why alter what is loved?
All this to say that I was never particularly hyped about the movie, but as a miraculer and a person who wanted to experience something that involved so many fans celebrating this show we all love, I just had to go.
I was square punched in the face by the visuals. This movie is a MUST to see on the big screen. Despite my hesitation towards the character design (which eventually grew on me), the musical numbers, particularly the romantic ones taking place in the sky brought me to tears. The colours, the low lights, the quality of the animation, the detail, the intensity of the characters (namely in the eyes)...*chef kiss* absolutely hit the spot.
Plot wise? I mean, it is literally if you wanted to compile the first 3 seasons of miraculous (no senti theories, lukanette, adrigami or,zoe though, more like season 1 plus Chat Blanc because we do get a WARNING SPOILER ALERT
"Chat Noir is Adrien, my son?" but with a Gabe completely out of character (based on his previous reactions to this in the series) and we get another reveal scenario which was very sweet but I felt like they could have played it differently ~SPOILER AHEAD~ I really loved Marinette putting his mask on and saying you can also call me ladybug but this doesn´t really prove she is who she claims to be right? I think she could have ended the one-sided reveal by using my favourite quote from the movie
Chat Noir "To everyone you´re the girl with the mask that saves the world, but to me, you are the girl who saved my heart" DUDE I sobbed (screaming internally because Marinette could have played with this quote as Chat Noir told this to her in private).
I sobbed with the romantic scenes in this film. Despite having to rush the romantic development between Adrinette and Ladynoir, it still felt very natural to my eyes which I was really happy with. Plus miraculous ladybug always knows how to play with my heartstrings regarding the love side of the story. It completely made me swoon (a big personal factor to have enjoyed it).
Nevertheless, the character development of Marinette, namely her overcoming her fears and believing in herself - exaclty what made me fall in love with her in the show and admire this charcter- instead of balancing out the romance, it became repetive and a bit exhausting. We are in the last 10 minutes of the film and Tikki is still preaching the same thing (don´t get me wrong, it is important to emphasise such message to the audience but I think they saturated it a bit).
Anywho, I think the fact that I went with no expectations for the film and accept whatever might come made me actually enjoy it more than I thought. A great part was also due to the atmosphere, which was so much fun. The audience was super vocal with their reactions, bringing a sense of community despite each of us being in our own little groups. We laughed (a lot, I completely forgot to highlight the humour of the movie *looks at careless whisper playing in the background everytime Adrien thinks of Ladybug*), screamed, cried and gasped together. So much fun.
I left the theatres quite elated but frustrated with the bloody teasing "almost kiss* scene at the very end. I actually believed I was gonna see Adrinette´s first kiss on the big screen but :)))))) JDNDJESINVIFESN. I also left incredibly confused because as I said, the movie doesn´t match whatsoever the series, and ended on a vague note - HEADSUP - After Gabriel is revealed to be Hawkmoth to both Chat Noir aka his son and Marinette/Ladybug, the dude just disappeared and we don´t get a reaction from Adrien?? It immediately skips to Adrinette (no complaints LOL) and then you hear Gabriel narrating a message to Nathalie to protect Adrien and never let him know that he hides Emelie´s body in the basement? The dad´s a bloody terrorist what difference doesa another crime make? Does this mean there will be a second movie? Will we forever live with God knows how many miraculous ladybug universes? "AMERICA EXPLAINNNN"
I have heard people who didn´t like it beacause it was purely fanfiction and didn´t make sense, I personally advise you to go with an open mind, chilled and with the intention to have a good time. I sure did! I will carry this experience with me forever <3 all this to say that my score may be also highly biased by that hahah. Byeee!
P.S - I did not comment on the music because I was a bit disappointed that the original French voices (warning the French dub is my favourite) were not the singing ones. They used Lou and Lenni-Kim which despite them being talented I didn´t feel like it suited them. So...I´m gonna wait for the English soundtrack to formulate an opinion. I liked the lyrics of the new song though (Last Dance soundtrack)

Review/Analysis for the PJO TV show so far
I want to join in on the fun :) Will post two posts since I realised how much I wrote for episode one
SPOILERS
EPISODE ONE:
What I love/like:
Honestly, it is not too bad
I really like how the first mythological being Percy sees is a pegasus specifically a black pegasus (Imagine it's Blackjack). This is a little detail I also love since Percy's half-brother is Pegasus (And was born after Perseus slew Medusa)
On the topic of Medusa (My favourite myth btw is Perseus and Medusa), I really love how Sally says the whole quote about not every hero who kills a monster is a hero and not every monster is a monster (Which she mainly refers to Medusa). Which is 1. absolutely foreshadowing Tyson (CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND AND WE NEED A SEASON 2 JUST FOR TYSON) and 2. Alluding to some changes to Medusa's character (Considering Uncle Rick has said episode 3 will focus more on Medusa's actual character)
Side note for the quote: It just serves for the anti-gods narrative, considering how many monsters were kind of by-products of the gods NOT caring about mortals.
Mythomagic being somewhat more relevant to the characters and plot is also really an amazing change from the books, considering how it's always felt like a one-book thing.
The scene with Mrs Dodds is more compelling considering it was a convo they had in Percy's mind and it's easier to be like, oh she was all in your mind.
My heart hurt with THAT scene of Grover and Walker did an amazing job showing Percy's emotions.
A little change that I'm also really fond of is how Eddie isn't one of Gabe's poker buddies, which I love specifically due to what ends up happening to Gabe (And his buddies in the books). Speaking of Gabe, he's such an ass but he's kinda funny in a goofy way.
PERCY SASSING GABE IS GOLD. Like- POP OFF
Percy gets his sass from his mom
Also, was anyone else tearing up during Sally's talk with Percy? The actors did so well, and it's nice that Sally was the one to tell Percy about him being a demigod.
The scenes with Grover, Sally, and Percy were so funny. Sally: Boys. Grover: I'm actually 24.
Really small, but I love how the Minotaur sounds like an elephant (Don't ask why I just do).
The entire Minotaur fight scene was good, emotional (SALLY REACHING OUT FOR PERCY I CAN'T- ToT) and a little bit more logical (Much more believable that Percy broke its horn off and stabbed it in the head instead of the chest)
Neutral Ground:
The removal of names have power lore, which I like that it's removed for the monsters. I feel completely differently in the next episode.
Criticisms/Pet Peeves:
Why is Gabe using a laptop???? Won't that attract monsters? Also is he still Smelly Gabe??? It was never said and never implied.
It did also feel really rushed like what another user has posted in their review.
