Just spent the last hour and a half watching this true crime video essay. I don’t usually do this for videos I find, but it turned out so good I just felt like I needed to say something here. Most definitely a captivating watch!
(If you like this one, go check out more of Real Horror’s videos while you’re at it. They’re all masterpieces in their own way: this one’s just… probably the best so far.)

The Betagems Lost Media channel has treasure troves of vintage commercials. One video in particular [1960s/1970s Saturday Morning TV Commercials Half Hour] is super exciting to me because it has Frito Kid commercials. For the longest time, only one was on Youtube and this gives me hope that more Frito Kid media might get found. It also gives me hope for the 1970s animated Jack In The Box commercials as well. Honestly, Fritos should have never gotten rid of Frito Kid, he has a simple and cute design, and his hair even looks like a Frito!

Very interesting!! I love both old commercials and finding lost media...it would be nice to find more of the animated Jack in the Box commercials b/c that version of the mascot is honestly one of my favorites
However!! Seeing these commercials is also really cool, now I'm subscribed so I can see more of their compilations >:)
I tried looking up more Frito Kid commercials but I kept running into more of the annoying Frito Bandito ones 😒

A few years ago, I was visiting home, and listening to a cover of Cielito Lindo, which I'd heard for the first time recently. And my mom started singing along, sort of.
The lyrics sung by the Frito Bandito in the 1960s Frito commercials that she heard when she was like 10.
So we looked it up. And we looked at each other...because it was so fucking racist that it was almost funny.
Help, I wanted Mexican food so I went to a local restaurant but nobody told me there were mariachi here tonight. I just want to eat chiles poblanos in introverted peace; I don’t have the social capital for live music right now
