Hey, how are you? First of all, I just want to say that I'm absolutely in love with your writing 🥹 you make it so fluid and fun to read 🖤
I'd like to ask a scenario/reaction for seventeen (ot13 individually, if possible) in which they have have a crush on reader, and then the reader gets cold and some other member offers them their hoodie, and they get kinda jealous and then might come up with some excuse for the reader to use their hoodie instead or something else of the sort. You can decide what each of them will do on your own, I wanna read it hehe
But just making it obvious they have a crush, even if they think they are not
Thank youuu, hope you have fun 🖤🖤
hiii lovely !! i'm doing good and i hope you are great too ! and thank you so much for these compliments, i'm glad to hear that you like my writing !! this was so fun and adorable to write even if it took me a looot of time but i hope you'll still like it ! thank you for sending in an ask !

CHOI SEUNGCHEOL
He truly loves Jeonghan, he really does. But to see him smirk at him while giving you one of his hoodies was not on his bingo card of their friendship. He knew how teasing Jeonghan could get, but to do that when he perfectly knew the fat crush Seungcheol had on you felt wrong. He would get a little pouty, crossing his arms and shooting deadly glares at his friend. Right before you all had to leave for the bar, he told you that the color of Jeonghan’s hoodie was absolutely not fitting with the rest of your outfit and handed you one of his in a color that was going so much better with your other clothes. Cheol is very proud of the annoyed look on his friend’s face, and the sweet smile you give him as thank you.
YOON JEONGHAN
When he gets back from the store and sees you all comfy in Joshua’s hoodie, he’s not having it. He plays it off, asking you who this belongs to since it’s clearly not your usual style. And you give him exactly the answer he was waiting for. Jeonghan gives the piece of clothing a judging look but says nothing and just leaves for a few minutes. When he comes back, he throws another hoodie at you, one of his. And when you ask what was the problem with the one you had on, he argues that it doesn’t fit your aesthetic. You are a little confused but still put on Jeonghan's hoodie. He will spend the rest of the day watching over you with a little smirk on his face, proud of seeing you wear his clothes.
HONG JOSHUA
I feel like Joshua is not so much a jealous guy but more of a possessive person. So he does not feel very jealous at seeing you wearing Jun’s hoodie, but he wants to make it clear that you’re his crush and not anyone else’s. He’s not even trying to hide it, it’s comical at this point. Joshua is straight up telling you that he would like it better if you wore his hoodie instead. He loves how you get a little shy by his bold demand but still agree, immediately taking off Jun’s hoodie and putting on the one Joshua is handing you. He will be so touchy the whole day, making it even more obvious that he wants you to be his.
MOON JUNHUI
He’s so fucking smooth about it. Jun doesn’t want to see you wearing Soonyoung’s hoodie, even if he’s your best friend, but he doesn’t wanna make it too obvious either. He wants to confess properly, not giving it away because he’s jealous. So he will tell you that the hoodie your friend gave you had a stain on it, and that you couldn’t wear it for when you will all go out after lunch. Jun so kindly offered one of his instead, discarding the other boy's clothes and giving you one of his hoodies. He feels a little bad for Soonyoung for one second, and then you flash him your prettiest smile and he doesn’t even know what guilt is anymore.
KWON SOONYOUNG
On the contrary, Soonyoung is so fucking obvious, it’s painful for everyone else watching. As soon as he saw you walking around in Wonwoo’s hoodie, he got pouty, refusing to talk to you. His argument ? It’s a betrayal to your friendship, regarding the fact that he’s your best friend and that Wonwoo is not. He’s such a baby about it, it’s cute. And Soonyong will keep crying about it until you finally give in and accept to take one of his sweaters instead. Except that he completely forgot to do his laundry and there is no more clean hoodie for you. It’s pretty comical to see his face fall and his pout return.
JEON WONWOO
As I’ve already stated, Wonwoo is not a jealous person, especially over his crush that is not even his partner yet. So he will not try to absolutely get you to not wear Jihoon’s hoodie or come up with an excuse like the others, even if he would’ve preferred if you wore his, just so it could smell like you once you give it back. Next time though, he’ll be prepared, either with a spare hoodie, or by wearing an outfit that allows him to give you his hoodie without getting too cold. And to think that Wonwoo does this just for you makes you feel all giddy inside, and when you make sure to acknowledge and appreciate his efforts, it’s his turn to get a little shy and bashful (he’s so cute i’m dying).
LEE JIHOON
I swear he’s stopping it before it even happens. He told you before going to take a spare hoodie or jacket with you because even if the weather was good, it would start to get colder soon. But as usual, you didn’t listen to him because it would’ve ruined your cute little outfit. Jihoon knew that you would end up complaining because you were cold, and that’s why he put on a hoodie himself - just so he could give it to you. But he wasn’t ready for how fast Seokmin offered to take his off and give it to you. But Jihoon is quicker and he is handing you his sweater before you even had the time to respond to his friend. We love a careful king like him.
LEE SEOKMIN
Another who’s a baby about it and so not subtle about it. He sees you laughing about how big Mingyu’s hoodie looks on you. And even though you’re not wrong, Seokmin knows that his sweaters would look big on you too, and that they would even suit you more because the colors he has match your style better than his friend’s. You can see how unhappy he is about the whole thing, and you take this opportunity to tease him a little. Seokmin would not even try to hide it, arguing that if you wanted to wear an oversized hoodie, you could’ve asked for his instead. He will only stop pouting when you agree to wear one of his.
KIM MINGYU
This big bay is sulking, like you had just back-stabbed him. And it’s only because you’re always barging about how big and oversized hoodies are the best ones, and here you are, wearing one of Minghao’s when you could’ve asked Mingyu and it would have been even bigger. He’s not telling you anything though, even if it’s kinda obvious that he’s upset over something. The next time you’re asking Mingyu about his opinion on your outfit, he doesn’t remind you to bring a jacket with you only so he could hand you his sweater and watch you drown into the fabric. Bonus point if you give it back without washing it and it still has your perfume and scent on it.
XU MINGHAO
Minghao would not say anything about the fact that you were currently wearing Seungkwan hoodie’s, but he would still give his member a kind of side eye when he comments on how well the piece of clothing suits you. During dinner, he will unfortunately drop some food on the sweater. Oh no ! But don’t worry, he will give you one of his instead so you can stay warm. Minghao will ignore all night how Seungkwan is sulking and will simply smile at you when you say that his hoodie is very soft. It’s just feeling very right to see you walking around in his clothes, and he definitely wouldn’t mind seeing you wear them more.
BOO SEUNGKWAN
He’s not having it, like at all. Especially since he’s very obvious about his crush on you around his members, and that they all know how much he loves you, he doesn’t like the fact that you’re wearing Hansol’s clothes. Seungkwan is not even really jealous, he’s only mad at his friend for doing this even though he knows everything. He’s giving deadly glares to Hansol all day, as if he really wanted to kill him for handing you his hoodie. He knows that he’s only doing this to tease him, but still. When you ask Seungkwan what’s wrong, he’s only telling you that he’s in a bad mood. But from now on, he will jump in before anyone else if you ever need a hoodie.
CHWE HANSOL
Nobody knows about Hansol’s crush on you, because it is no one else’s business. So he can’t be upset at Chan for giving you his hoodie because you were cold, he just wished he was quicker and gave you his. And it even feels strange that you accepted his friend’s clothing, because Hansol had told you countless times that you could borrow anything from his room, even when he was not there. Later on, he will ask you why you were wearing Chan’s hoodie, thinking that his approach was casual (even when it’s really not). When you explained that you just didn’t want to make him feel bad when he offered, Hansol simply nodded. But his cheeks quickly turned red when you admitted prefering to wear his sweater.
LEE CHAN
Chan really tries hard to not show his crush on you, but the way he looks at you is not as subtle as he thinks and everyone has understood what was going on, even you. Hence why you’re wearing one of Seungcheol hoodie’s right now. Yes, Chan is kinda obvious, but you still want to be 100% sure that he won’t reject you. And what better than jealousy ? Plus, he’s always making a point of giving you his clothes when you’re cold, so he doesn’t understand why you didn’t ask him this time. He’s pouting and sulking for sure, even complaining to his hyung about how he’s trying to steal his crush. Honestly, he’s just very cute and he’s being a baby. The only way to get him to smile again is by agreeing to take his hoodie instead.

Androgynous/Masc Leaning Capsule Wardrobe Ideas
In honor of International Nonbinary People’s Day, I offer you the clothing advice I wish I had like 15 years ago. I prefer a small well curated wardrobe but it is so tough to pull that off as a nonbinary genderfluid person. I spent years struggling to make my capsule wardrobe work for me. Every example I saw was either with feminine clothes or with the world blandest men’s clothing.
For reference, I’m AFAB and live in Kentucky - very hot and muggy in summers, can get quite cold (-20 F) in winter but it’s usually mild with highs are in the 30F-40F range most days. This is the advice I’d give my younger self if I could.
Focus on 10-15 Core Items
While I am fluid, I consistently spend most of my time “inbetween” these days. Having a neutral to masc learning main wardrobe with some feminine items to mix in wound up working best for me. So here’s the masc leaning base wardrobe I recommend.
~3 x Button Ups - I went with short sleeve Hawaiian shirts for myself because I love bold patterns. You can find a lot of Hawaiian shirt these days that don’t have stereotypical “island” patterns on them while still being pretty light and breathable in summer. If your style leans more classic, consider oxford cloth button ups. You might need more button ups if you work in a business casual setting.
~3 x Tees - I like graphic tees, specifically hand screen printed ones so that’s what I go with. But if your style is more classic then consider investing in some good quality solid color tees.
~3 x Casual Tops - for me this is a tank top, turtleneck, and a Henley. But you might consider a collarless button ups, plain long sleeve shirts, and ringer style long sleeve shirts.
~3 Pants - for me, I have black and stone washed denim since those are my favorites. I look for tapered fits over skinny or boot leg where I can. I have one pair that’s a jogger style I quite like. You might look for chinos or khakis if you have a more formal dress code at work but they’ll still work with graphic tees and other tops if you style them right.
~3 x Layers - for me this is a cardigan, a flannel, and a hoodie. You might consider v neck or crew neck sweaters, cable knit sweaters, and fair isle sweaters as well.
Feminine Clothing Module
What’s nice about this approach is that you can then create a feminine clothing module that plays nicely with your main wardrobe.
For me this looks like
1-2 Dresses - I have a maxi tee dress and a long sleeved linen dress since that works more for everyday wear for me.
1-2 Skirts - I don’t have any presently but the next big feminine swing I have I’ll be ordering a nice linen skirt in my favorite color.
1-2 Casual Tops - I don’t have any presently after my last big wardrobe edit but business casual shell tops, camisoles, and cowl neck tops work well here.
1-2 Layers - I have a linen blazer in a women’s cut and a long striped duster. You might consider a kimono style shrug/wraps, sweaters in a more feminine cut, and women’s cardigans
You don’t need a lot here because so much of the main wardrobe can be mixed with a feminine element or two and it becomes much more feminine - especially if you’re AFAB but even if you’re AMAB. It doesn’t take a lot a feminine clothing to make an over all outfit look more feminine and subtle touches work just as well as more overt styles ime.
Sizing
Sizing is tricky as hell. I’m plus size (size 18-20 in women’s pants) and especially trying to find masculine stuff with the right fit is a pain. I really recommend going in to try things on if you’re able but if not get comfortable with the idea you will likely need to send things back. Yes you can take measurements but those measurements are still listed with different proportions in mind.
For men’s clothes I lean toward a slightly oversized fit - as most men I’m around do. For women’s clothes, I lean toward a slightly tight fit - as most women I’m around do. Look at the people around you and see which fits they lean toward and opt for that where you’re able to for yourself.
Shoes, Outwear, Special Occasions
Shoes - I tend to opt to go neutral in my shoes and outerwear. Not in color or pattern mind you but gender. For shoes, I currently have 3 pairs - a pair of crocs (with spikes), running shoes/sneakers (old Champion brand slip ons), and a pair of Doc Martens. These are good options if you’re AMAB too because the sizing is unisex or available in similar styles for men and women. Other good options are Vans, Chucks, any hippie sandal brand you can think of. “Nicer” shoes are great but often pretty gendered. I lean toward getting “nicer shoes” that are opposite my assigned gender when I do grab them.
Outerwear - I also tend to opt for gender neutral options for outerwear too. Since it doesn’t get terribly cold here, I stick to a micropuff jacket from North Face and layer a black denim jacket over it when it gets cold. When I wear it with masc stuff, blends in. When I wear it with feminine stuff, it adds a slight edge I like. Pea coats are decent options as well. If you live some place real cold, a lot of the long winter coats are basically the same between genders, just different fits.
Special Occasions - I would recommend not worrying about special occasions until or unless they come up. I have the same two “special occasion” dresses that I’ve been using for years because they come up so rarely and I can’t bare to spend too much money on something I’ll wear maybe once or twice a year. Formal wear is highly gendered and if you learn androgynous it’s a tough needle to thread. For those events with hosts you know, it’s worth reaching out to them to see what they think makes an outfit “formal” - could be nicer cuts or materials, could be rigid gender norms - can’t know until you ask.
For most special occasions, I do not know the host, so I default very structured looks in accordance with my assigned gender. Still feels a bit edgy but no ones gonna have the guts to say it’s wrong. For AMAB folks you might do the inverse, more flowy looks and colors while still adhering to your assigned gender. All depends on the level of familiarity you have with the hosts and the flack you’re willing to catch.
Outfits
Some masc leaning outfit ideas:
button up, hoodie, pants, boots
graphic tee, flannel or cardigan, pants, sneakers
turtleneck, pants, boat shoes
button up, tie, cardigan, pants, chelsea boots
Some fem leaning outfit ideas:
button up, cardigan, skirt, sneakers
shell top, wrap, pants, sandals
graphic tee, skirt, sneakers
dress, sandals
Conclusion
Hope this was helpful to someone out there!

BL fashion in Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart (EP 5):
The best part of the week when it comes to BL fashion is when you get a new episode of Jack and Joker. The characters in this series are the best dressed (for me, of course).
Let's start with Jack. I said it before and I'm going to say it again, but Jack really has found his style since he has been working towards repaying his debts to the Boss. He is mostly wearing a blue, black, white color palette of outfits and it works really well. I feel his range goes from smart casual to formal. This blue shirt is doing wonders to him. It may seem minimalist, but it's always stylish.
As for Hope, I feel he was more into colors in this episodes. We were used to seeing him in black to black outfits, but it was a nice change to see him wearing more colors. If you know me, you know I love printed and colorful shirts. The first pictures make it seem like he is wearing a baseball jersey over a white tee. It creates a nice contrasts with the black pants and the white creeper shoes is wearing with this outfit is bringing a touch of rock flair. In the second picture, Hope opted for a Hawaiian shirt. He rocked them with a light blue jean and again with his white creeper shoes (definitely his statement piece) which gave more of an urban feel.
Next we get Arun and he is very fashionable too. I'm a bit sad he changed his outfit between the time they captured Tattoo and Hoy. That's because the lace laser cut beige dress over a sequin top was a very bold and audacious choice. It's like he was wearing an over-the-top outfit to attract Tattoo and then he decided to go for the a more casual version of his outfit after he got what he wanted. I like the beige lightweight cardigan over the black top. The ripped jean and the silver necklace are there to enhance his outfit by adding personality and texture. I would say Arun is good at gender fluid styling as he is blending traditionally fashion elements and express himself beyond the binary. The second picture doesn't give justice to the nice black button vest he is wearing. I think the back of the vest is with lace. Simple, but visually appealing. The bruise on his face and this outfit gives a bad boyish air to Arun.
I really like also what Arun, Hope and Jack were wearing at the auction. It was mostly black and white formal outfits, but they all choose a different style that represent them a lot. You can see their personality through the choice of their outfits. Hope preferred an all-black outfit with a band collar. It gives the wearer the chance to dress down while maintaining an air of elegance. Arun has to play a rich guy so he choose to wear a fur collar jacket to give the impression of sophistication. As for Jack, he preferred a classic tuxedo with bow tie. It is according to his taste and you can never go wrong at a formal event with it.

Ruinous Fortune
If I were to quickly sum up the warm and fuzzy nostalgia I have for the Ruinous Fortune artstyle, it would be a mix of Dark Crystal Jim Henson muppets and the theatrical fantasy stylings of 80’s fantasy blockbusters (which I know is a little bit of a full circle if I were to put those two in a venn diagram, but bear with me). It’s a high fantasy that has a wide cast of unique creatures, each with fluid expressions and well developed stories.
You can read it on Webtoon, Tapas, and on it’s website here:
https://ruinousfortune.com
https://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/ruinous-fortune/list?title_no=565787
https://tapas.io/series/Ruinous-Fortune/info
The plot follows Gael Fortuna, who’s adoptive Father just happens to be a horrible, terrible, demon king, and so she is making an attempt to flee his house. Along this dangerous path of rebellion, we meet all of Gaels friends who come both big and small.
Did I mention Gael has an adorable swishy tail? This is important to me as a reader, so I hope it is also important for you.
(this is Minmo, a little hamster/fairy that I would die for, I love Minmo and I will not hear otherwise.)
The art is colorful and consistent, with pops of bright neons and moments of bold style decisions. Some character designs just really hit the nail so well, that I love every moment they are on screen, even if it just so happens to be a horrible villain wearing those designs (the best kind of villain, tbh)
Without exposing too much of the plot, I’m looking forward to some scenery shredding and lovely action sequences down the road. I find myself wanting to see more and more of this unique magical world that SnowWraith has created, and I recommend you spend a few afternoons reading through and admiring a story that is both whimsical and heartbreaking, too.

Do any of the ROs wear makeup? What kinds/styles if so?
Pretty much all of the ROs wear makeup at least sometimes! ( unfortunately i am not a makeup guy, so my descriptions of styles and the like might be vague or off. sorry about that!! 😔 )
Yasmin- makeup is a big part of her daily routine. She finds the process relaxing and likes how it looks and makes her feel. She typically will do full face makeup unless she's feeling super casual. Yas sticks to warm earth tones and slightly subtler styles; though on dates or parties she'll go a bit bolder.
Jay- f!Jay keeps it simpler than Yas. She really likes makeup and wears it most days, but due to the nature of her jobs she doesn't see much point in going beyond the basics. She's pretty practical. That being said, she absolutely savors any chance she gets to go all out.
Beck- likes makeup and frequently wears it when her gender leans feminine (though she's pretty fluid in presentation and will wear makeup on occasion when feeling more masc or neutral). Favors smokey eyes and darker colors, styles that are more bold and edgy.
Croft- f!Croft is queen of the smokey eye--and sometimes the 'I've slept in the same smudged eyeliner for days' look--Amara's makeup habits range from 'almost none' to 'obviously intentional but still very grunge'. M!Croft typically has his nails painted black but that's the extent of his makeup habits.
Perri- is by far the most creative when it comes to their makeup. Both fem and nonbinary Perri try to have fun with it. Bold, bright colors and fun eyeliner and eyeshadow, always themed to match their outfit. M!Perri might wear a bit of eyeliner or paint his nails for a formal event, but it's not really something he does on the daily.
#interactive fiction#asks#croft#beck#perri#yasmin#( m!jay doesn't wear makeup but he'll let his sister paint his nails when the mood strikes her )

sorry if you've already answered this one but what would you identify as some of the major inspirations for your art style? your style is so dazzling and instantly recognizable, and i especially admire how you incorporate bold/angular shapes into your artwork while still making everything look so fluid and expressive at the same time. i aspire to develop a style that has as much soul as yours
Actually, I never had (here at least) and I'm really glad you asked!:D
First and foremost AAA THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS!!!🥹🥹🥹 It's always an honor to hear that my art is an inspiration for someone,it honestly makes me heart melt;;;;😭😭😭 just,,,,AAAAAAAA FGJKGkSn To be fair, I had a fair share of different artistic inspirations throughout the years. Many of them were artists ,mostly those I met in fandom spaces and my friends, but I also some that were from the media themselves. I've been drawing for a while now so unfortunately I can't recall every single inspiration I've had that formed my style the way it is now(((
That being said my 2 biggest ones are at the moment the HPMA style(+ Kang Minjung's style) and, you guessed it, Don't Starve. While my base style was always rather angular, this game definitely influenced the way I paint and overall atmosphere of my works: the muted colors, the black lines, "sketchy feel" as some people describe, so I do gotta give credit to DST for shaping my art into what it is now.
I also would like to mention an influence from works of Jhonen Vasquez, aka Invader Zim, Johhny the Homicidal Main and I Feel Sick, Yugo Limbo's art (@/yugsly), aka Smile for Me and Be Kind My Neighbour and FAKE TYPE mvs. Even if it may not be as noticable.
THANKS SM FOR ASKING THIS AGAIN XOXO

Review: Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal
Sanzaru Games • SEGA • 2014 • Nintendo 3DS Read it on Backloggd: (x)
Sonic's always had a strange, yet interesting history on handhelds.
Its history spans five different developers, from Sonic's birth in 1991 to his 25th anniversary in 2016, with each year marking a gradual change in what the games are even supposed to be for. In the 90s it was Ancient and Aspect, trying to replicate the creative, varied, ball-rolling and feel-good adventures or Sonic 1, 2 and 3, cramming them into tiny 8-bit Game Gear games. While they aren't fantastic or even, good, really, you get a sense that they really tried to capture what people were enjoying about Sonic on the genesis at that point and time, and distilling it into a new format. You see this further with Sonic Pocket Adventure by SNK, a lovely tribute to the Genesis games that gets really close to actually feeling like them despite its 8-bitty visuals, yet feels somewhat restrained by not being much more than just a recreation. From there you get Dimps' Sonic Advance games, now latching onto Sonic's striking new identity after Sonic Adventure: It was still a series about feel-good adventures, of course, but now there was a bit more flair to it all. Sonic in Adventure wasn't just a cool design with a cheeky idle animation, he now had a voice, several fluid animations, strikingly expressive graffitti-esque art, he comments on situations and does cool breakdance tricks after beating levels. Somewhat like the Game Gear games before them, the original Sonic Advance became a game trying to distill the essence of Sonic Adventure, the style, the vibes, even the dramatics in the game's memorable Egg Rocket stage, into a format befitting of a handheld. Advance 2 and 3 are obviously much the same thing but for Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes respectively, with Advance 2 channelling the high-octane adrenaline of SA2 levels like Green Forest and Sky Rail into a 2D sidescroller plane, and Advance 3 taking Heroes' team-up mechanics into its own direction.
Yet with Sonic Rush, things began taking a new direction. Not only had there not been a big new Sonic game to try and channel after Heroes, but Dimps had also begun finding their own voice. Sonic Advance 2 had been a monumental triumph in terms of both sales and reviews, and its bold adaptation of 3D gameplay into 2D gave Dimps a somewhat unique basis to build off of – to make Sonic games entirely their own. Even when SEGA would try to reel this back after 2008, instead only having them work on games specifically branded as derivative of others, Dimps now took these games on with a distinctly their-own approach, seen in games like Sonic Colors DS, Sonic Lost World 3DS, and most infamously Sonic 4. In short, Sonic's handheld games had gone from cute imitations, to games driven by their source, to full on original games, to original games using their source as a baseline.
Which now brings us to our fifth and last, developer, for the final Sonic handheld ventures: Sanzaru Games, and Sonic Boom on 3DS.
Shattered Crystal was always going to be fighting an uphill battle compared to its handheld siblings: Mainly, it had little to no foundation to build off of, with Boom as an entity being made specifically to reinvent the series, in a more Americanized direction. For the big debut home console game, Big Red Button was a great choice for this: Jak & Daxter-ifying Sonic with some of that game's lead developers at the helm, whilst not seeming like a great direction to a lot of Sonic die-hards, at least seemed like a great way to get a solid product out. Thing is, unlike games like Advance and Pocket Adventure, Shattered Crystal didn't have a pre-existing thing to try and replicate: Due to being developed in parallel with Rise of Lyric, Sanzaru didn't have much to work off of beyond a few core concepts for the world, and a general idea of teamwork. On top of this, unlike Big Red Button or even Dimps, Sanzaru were in no way known for their excellence in 2D game design, or even known as good developers in general. And so, in a way, Shattered Crystal ended up a hodgepodge of all the different eras of handheld games, trying to both share the brand identity of its console counterpart, yet also be its own thing, but still building its foundations off of some core ideas from the main game, althewhile being fertile ground for the games' developers to grow and learn.
I wanted to give that rundown both because I find it incredibly fascinating to think about, but also because it makes the end product of Shattered Crystal make a lot more sense. Its a messy little game, filled both with ambition to be like what handheld Sonic once was, yet also embrace elements of the 2000s western-made platformers. The game's levels are uncharacteristically large for one, and a lot of the game is focused on exploring them to find collectibles manditory to unlock later levels. The other playable characters, Tails, Knuckles and Sticks, can be switched to on the fly, yet all they really offer is unlocking passageways or access to aforementioned collectibled. Its a very arbitrary inclusion of multiple playable characters, and it combined with gargantuan levels you're forced to explore could have very well ruined the game to be as bland and boring as its Wii U counterpart. So its a good thing, then, that they somehow managed to make Sonic himself feel absolutely fantastic to control. I'm serious: I have no clue how they did it, but Sonic controls like such a dream and has so many movement options, yet remains at a comfortable enough speed to make exploring levels still feasible compared to Dimps' best outings. Its a distinct feel to the character, yet immensely fun to play around with, mainly due to the fun interplay between the airdash and double jump.
To break it down, at any point in midair Sonic can dash either to his sides or straight up, after which he regains his double jump if it was used before. After a double jump he can airdash one additional time, but not in the same direction as the previous airdash, and this repeats until you've airdashed in all directions. What this means is that you can get crazy airtime by doing all of these interlinked airdashes and double jumps correctly, giving you more distance than Tails' flight in most instances the game wants you to switch to him. Jump, doublejump, airdash forward, doublejump, airdash up, doublejump...its reminiscent of those cool strings of moves you execute for long jumps in Mario Odyssey, only far more compelling due to being attached to get-to-the-goal speedrunning stages that still have a lot of options on how to best progress through them. What this means is that when the level asks you to switch to Knuckles to tunnel up a steep cliff, or switch to Tails to cruise over a bed of spikes, and so on, you can almost always execute it faster and more satisfyingly through mastery of Sonics controls. Add to this the fact that the doublejump maintains all of your speed, and the fun Enerbeam that has some really satisfying swinging physics, and you get some levels with some genuinely great flow to them. It takes a similar formula to the Wisps in the mainline Sonic games, switching to far simpler playstyles to clear very specific-to-them challenges, and instead gives you the tools to completely skip them if you're skilled enough with Sonic.
Granted, this doesn't always hold water, and the rushed nature of the game does sometimes catch up to it. Sticks exists to hit switches with her boomerang and she is the ONLY one who can do so, meaning there will inevitably be sections like the start of Scrapyard Zone where you're arbitrarily required to use her. The collectible grind can also halt your flow a lot of the time, like with the strangely out of place Tails Submarine levels where you play a slow and boring diving minigame for 2 minutes each in the middle of an otherwise fast paced game. Or rather, its a game where you can otherwise MAKE the pace faster than it in reality wants to be.
And thats just what makes Shattered Crystal so interesting. Despite everything, it holds on to so many things that makes Sonic games so fun to play, like fast movement, levels you can explore for both items and shortcuts, hell they've even got Richard Jacques – composer of Sonic R and Sonic 3D Blast – doing the music, and its often quite good! The levels themselves are super cool in theming, mostly thanks to each level having a "foreground" and "background", putting new spins on the same level theme sort of like how Sonic Heroes handles its levels. In Shadow Canyons, for instance, you go from grinding on rails and running along scaffolding by these big imposing cliffs, to being flung into the mining facility going on in those mountains. I honestly don't want to spoil the final level because it is such a cool theme for a stage with this system, that it makes the entire game feel worth it just to get to.
Because at the end of the day, for as much cool stuff there is in Shattered Crystal, for as close as it really does come to being a successor to Dimps' handheld lineage, the game is sadly just too much of a chore to get through normally. Unlike a game like Sonic Colors, the explorative nature of the stages isn't just there for optional unlockables, but rather required for progression and beating the game. By the end, you will more or less need a 90% completion rate, meaning most stages need to be both combed through but also beaten with above 50 rings and under a specific time. Its not that this stuff is bad or unfun to do, the game has a super detailed map on the touchscreen showing you where you havent been yet and where things are and I actually really like the autorunner extra stages you can do inbetween levels. It's moreso that it leads to the game feeling at odds with itself: Its immensely fun to speedrun and try to go faster in, but so much of the game wants you to instead do the fun-but-not-nearly-AS-fun collectible hunt. Then, you add that with how the controls can start to really hurt your hands after a while: There's no D-pad movement, meaning you need to slam a somewhat-flimsy circle pad as far to the left or right as it can go to move quickly, whilst also holding down Y at all times to run, whilst also asking you to be ready to use B to jump and A or X to airdash and enerbeam...
It all adds up to Shattered Crystal being a game with truckloads of potential to be amazing, that holds itself back both due to a rushed development and a need for surface-level parity with the slow-as-molasses home console Sonic Boom game it has no business associating with. But when you're able to overcome all those restrictions, when there's no longer a need to collect things, when you've mastered Sonics controls to almost never need to switch to the other bozos, and when you get a true flow going with mechanics you would never expect to be so fun for what the game looks to be on the surface...
That's when you've broken free. Because trouble keeps you running faster.

Restaurant Interior Design
Within the stiff hospitality of the present, the interior design of a restaurant may define its character and general dining experience. It should already portray an impression if customers enter, so the ambiance should represent what the restaurant stands for as well as what it offers-cuisine. Being a professional Restaurant Interior Designer, Interiorwalaa knows how to create a dining environment that is not only attractive in appearance but also comforting, highly functional, and memorable.
Key Restaurant Interior Design Elements
Theme and Concept: After all, every restaurant has a story to share. Whether you have a simple café or a luxurious dining location, the design of the interiors must bring across the theme and concept of the restaurant. A rustic theme would be reflected by wooden furniture, warm lighting, and earth-toned walls; a contemporary theme would mean sleek furniture, modern art, and bold colors.
Space Planning: Optimum use of space without compromising comfort is an integral part of designing restaurant interiors. The patterns of sit-down and the pathways of the waitstaff are all really well managed to create fluid movement. All these little or big spaces are masterfully changed into effective layouts that meet the convenience needs of customers and efficiency of employees.
Lightings: Actually, lighting makes the mood evoked by a restaurant really real. Soft ambient lights create a background for very relaxed dining experiences and bright lights typically send forth an active feel. A restaurant interior designer who is an expert, such as Interiorwalaa, particularly pays attention to light so it harmonizes in association with the atmosphere of a place and heightens feelings about dining.
Furniture and Décor: One of the most important things in creating a style is furniture and décor. Whether or not a place takes the older furniture or modern minimalist style, Interiorwalaa helps restaurant owners choose the kind of furniture that meets their brand. Adding those decorative elements - artwork, greenery, and table settings - further develops the ambiance.
Acoustics: A good restaurant may satisfy your eyes and mouth, but what is satisfying for the ears too? Well-designed restaurants ensure there isn't too much background noise when diners are talking to each other. Interiorwalaa would incorporate sound management solutions to result in the perfect dining atmosphere.
Why Interiorwalaa for Your Restaurant Interior Designer?
It goes without saying for Interiorwalaa that restaurant interior design has a larger role to play not only in aesthetics but also customer retention and revenue. Indian Wedding Cocktail Party Dresses: Top Classy Picks
Indian weddings are grand in every sense—culturally and fashionably. Minus a few things, no wedding can ever be complete.
Out of all the pre-wedding events, the one night that completely stands out is your cocktail party. It's old and new, tradition and trend, and the secret to owning that star-studded night? Your cocktail party dress.
To carry off the fashion-forward mode of today, you require confidence, style, and a bit of oomph.
The perfect Indian wedding cocktail party dresses are sure to get any bride or guest thrilled and overwhelmed at the same time. To help you with that, here are a few top elegant picks that will leave everyone mesmerized!
Timeless Elegance with a Modern Twist
A perfect cocktail dress that is somewhere in between tradition and modernity, is about achieving an effortlessly chic look.
From sarees to gowns, options are plenty; let's cut it down to those styles that really stand out.
1. Saree with a Contemporary Edge
Nothing has ever been able to match up to the ethereal elegance of a saree, but what would you say if we told you that this saree could get a makeover for a cocktail party?
The pre-draped saree or dhoti-style draped saree can give that sophisticated experimental touch. Match this with an embellished blouse or go for a plunging neckline to add a little edge.
Key style tip: Shades of metallic, like silver or gunmetal, work absolutely wonderfully for bestowing that ideal evening glow.
Be Wise with Accessories: Think minimal, sleek jewelry. A choker or statement earrings will add to the oomph.
And that is why Ralph Lauren claims, “Fashion is not necessarily about labels. It's not about brands. It's about something else that comes from within you."
2. Indo-Western Gowns
Indian-themed gowns work wonders for a cocktail, with more embroidery in them. They have saved the traditional ethos with a modern silhouette for the woman now.
An A-line dress with heavy zari or mirror work or a gown in mermaid or fish-tail style will surely make you the cynosure of all eyes at any evening event.
Play with fabrics using materials such as velvet and silk that add an extra dimension to the meaning of luxuriousness.
Color scheme: Jewel colors like emerald green, royal blue, or burgundy reflect the night atmosphere.
3. Sharara Sets with a Glam Touch
Sharara sets are perfect for people who want to balance style and convenience. The flared pants with the fitted kurti create a very flattering silhouette.
If you want something more cocktail-worthy, the ones with heavy embellishments or sequins are ideal.
Opt for a bold design: Abstract embroidery or geometric patterns can really shake things up.
Pair with a modern dupatta: A sheer dupatta with minimal embroidery can add the perfect touch without overwhelming the look.
Statement Styles for the Fashion-Forward
If you’re someone who loves to make a bold entrance and leave a lasting impression, these statement styles will have people talking long after the party ends.
1. Cape Gowns
Capes aren't only for superheroes anymore. They lift the look of your entire outfit a notch higher in chic when worn over gowns.
This cape gown makes you feel like an ethereal queen, and people just stand there with their jaws dropped.
Length matters: Go floor length with your cape for maximum impact, or something fun and a bit shorter for a more modern silhouette.
Embellishments: Watch for capes embellished with sequins or beadwork; two looks are always better than one under the evening lights.
2. Cocktail Saree Gown
A hybrid saree gown for those who want the best of both worlds. It's as fluid as a saree, with the structured detailing of a gown.
And you need not worry about pleats or draping; this is an equally stunning and effective option for the evening.
The Fusion Twist: Go in for a saree gown with high lace-chiseled detailing or a metallic sheen for an extra glam appeal.
Pair with a clutch: Finish your look with a stylish, embroidered clutch to stay sorted for any cocktail party.
3. Lehenga with a Quirky Blouse
Lehengas are generally reserved for the final wedding day, but here you can give your traditional attire a twist in case it's for a cocktail event.
Simply forget a regular blouse and go for a jacket-style top, bustier, or a corset with your lehenga.
Experiment with fabrics: Velvet or Organza would add levels of class to your dressing.
Footwear Choice: Of course, heels are needed; however, opt for something a bit more comfortable but fashionable, such as block heels or wedges.
What The Latest Cocktail Dress Trends Mean
In turn, Indian wedding cocktail dresses have realized a huge evolution pertaining to the fashion landscape.
The Indian ethnic wear market is poised to register a growth of over 10% in the coming years, according to Statista research, while showcasing the demands for fusion outfits in terms of Indo-Western gowns and cocktail saris.
Trends come and go, but investing in a cocktail dress that can truly reflect who you are yet stays true to the vibe of the night is what will always hold you under the spotlight.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Which are the best colors for Indian wedding cocktail party dresses?
ANS: Opt for deep, intense hues: emerald green, burgundy, or midnight blue. They look luxurious for an evening event and exude sophistication.
2. Can I wear traditional sarees for an Indian wedding cocktail party?
ANS: Yeah, definitely! But modernize it with a pre-draped sari or team it up with a new-age blouse for the perfect cocktail look.
3. What is a cocktail saree gown?
ANS: A cocktail saree gown is an amalgamation of the grace a saree holds together with the structure and ease of a gown. It is a very stylish and practical fusion garment worn at cocktail events.
Conclusion
Dressing for a cocktail party for an Indian wedding does not follow the trend; you light your own style and add a few notches of glamour to it. Therefore, go on with those dresses that enliven your personality. You will surely make a long-lasting impression with these Indian wedding cocktail party dresses.

a/n: I know it’s been a minute. I’m always thinking about these stories because I want to finish them, just can’t seem to focus on writing at the moment. Anyway, hope you enjoy.
Part iv - Date with Destiny
Finding Ivar Lothbrok should have been easy. Between the two of them, he was the stable one. He was the one with the iron-clad schedule that consisted of drinking, smoking, and partying. Torren’s schedule was a bit more... fluid. She tended to go wherever the wind, or whatever car she acquired, would take her. Naturally, Ivar had the occasional meet-and-greet, red carpet, and/or Comic-con engagement that he had to attend, still, he was pretty easy to keep tabs on. All one had to do was look at (stalk) his social media accounts, and his whereabouts were posted for everyone to see.
Knowing where he’d be and finding out where he lived were a different story. Torren had done her due diligence when it came to locating the town in which Little Kattegat was located. It only took about two days and a few Google image searches of the background of a few of the photos and she had it narrowed down to a general area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
From what she could tell, the closest town to where he lived was pretty small, and there were only a few large estates hidden in the woods. How hard could it be to find? She was willing to drive to every single house and knock on the door to find him if she had to. But it would just be easier if there was loud music and a bunch of cars in the driveway. That way she could tag along inside with the rest of the guests to get to her man.
Her shirt landed in the pile of dirty clothes in the center of the bed, as she reached around to unhook her bra. “I really need to tell Baby Boo to stop putting all of his business out in these streets,” her brows furrowed as she shook her head, “What if some crazy, psycho bitch started stalking him, or some shit? Then I’d have to kill a bitch.” Torren’s head whipped around and she narrowed her eyes at his picture, still stuck on her wall, “Is that what you want? Huh? You want me to cut a bitch to prove to you how much I love you? I will, Bae! You know I would do anything for you. I’m your Ride or Die...”
And being his Ride or Die meant that she needed to keep better tabs on him if she was going to protect him from someone crazier than her, God forbid. She was only able to do so much on this prepaid phone, and going to the library to get online was becoming a pain in the ass.
She’d considered stealing a laptop or iPad from the library but was still on the fence about the idea. Of course, the alternative meant going to stupid ass libraries and threatening little kids to get off the fucking computers, and that completely sucked ass.
She always felt rushed when she logged onto her Bae’s Only Fans page from the public library. Without fail one of those little bastard kids would get the library Nazis to kick her off the computer, or bar her from the library altogether for watching porn.
Ivar’s page wasn’t porn! It was art. It was sexy. It was love...his love for her. Stupid bitches.
She had encountered far worse things than getting kicked out of the library, but some of these small towns usually only had one or two within their county limits. If she got banned, how was she supposed to check up on Ivar? In the time it took to log in until she got kicked out, she'd be lucky if she could check 2 of his accounts. What if he had some important information on another platform that she hadn’t checked yet? What was she supposed to do then?
Her relationship with Ivar was hanging in the balance, and she'd be damned if some snot-nosed kid or fucking uptight librarian would fuck that up. She needed a computer. But, on the flip side, when she finally got her man back, she wouldn't need one anymore. She could ask him directly what their plans were.
There was a lot to consider and that took time; time that she didn't have right now.
The thick layer of Nair shaving cream she had applied to her already hairless crotch, was just starting to tingle, signaling she had about 5 minutes left before the sweat-inducing, burning sensation would kick in alerting her to wash the cream off. Until then, she had time to consider an outfit for the night.
She knew Ivar well enough to know that he would want her to be sexy for him, but not so much to distract him from work. She could have gone for something slutty, like those skanky bitches he partied with. She could have gone for more demur, but then she would remind him too much of his bitch ex-wife and completely turn him off. The last thing she wanted on their first night back together was for him to be thinking about that bitch. She could have gone for a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt, but Torren never did simple.
No, Ivar would want her to be herself. That's what he loved about her. That's what attracted him to her in the first place. She would be sexy without being skanky; she would be demure without being a prude.
Fuck! It was already 7:33 p.m. How in the hell did she miss the beginning of his Live? Now she was running late.
She was supposed to be dressed and ready by the time his Live came on that way she could be out the door as soon as he finished. If she was going to make it to be on his Only Fans live stream tonight, she needed to get to his house before he got too distracted. Now, she’d have to watch his Live, while her cooch burst into flames before she had a chance to take a shower and finish picking out her outfit.
If there was one thing Torren was, it was punctual. It was bad enough that she was about 40 minutes outside of his town, but it could take her up to 2 or more hours to find his house. She only hoped that he didn’t plan on starting any real freaky shit on his Only Fans page until around midnight, cause it looked like she wouldn’t be getting there before then, anyway.
With the smile still plastered on her face, Torren turned on the hot water for a shower, forgetting that the water didn’t get hot. She didn't mind, much, especially since the cold water gave her a break from the heat in her room.
Phone in hand, she watched him, as she planted herself on the dirty bathtub floor, cross-legged, and started to get herself ready. Starting with her toes, she shaved each one, just below the knuckle, followed by her fingers, arms, pits, and each leg, from groin to ankle, three times. When the burning from her nether regions was so intense that she couldn’t tell her tears from the shower water dripping on her face, she quickly washed off the cream.
All she could do was hope that she hadn’t broken the skin this time. The last time she had let that damn Nair stay on, just past burning, the skin broke and she bled. She was not having a bloody hoo-ha tonight.
With that taken care of, she gently used the razor to remove any other pubes closer to the inside that needed to be removed. Then shaved her backside. When she had more time, she was going to get the internal hairs bleached, but she needed to find out what Ivar preferred.
Shaving ate up so much of her time that she only had a few seconds to rub some body-wash that she had stolen from a drug store over her body and hoped it got rid of the smell of the summer heat. Her hair? Fuck it...she’d wash it another day, for now, this cold water would have to be enough. She’d spritz some perfume and hair spray in it and it would smell fine.
Torren finished her shower, and walked out of the bathroom dripping wet, only using a towel to wrap around her hair. She was glad it was so hot in her room that her hair would air-dry quickly. She finger-combed her damp tresses to complete that ‘just got out of bed, but it's styled’ appearance. She knew how much he loved when her hair looked like that. It would remind him of freshly fucked hair.
She spent extra time applying her makeup, even using an extra dark, thick application of eyeliner. She usually went for more subtle warm colors. They matched her tan skin tone better. But, tonight, she had bold, dark makeup, complete with varying shades of purple and blue eye shadows, and dark purple lipstick.
Torren was glad that she decided to match Ivar’s clothes this evening. The swim trunks and smoking jacket he wore would compliment her beautifully. She wanted everyone to know that they dressed alike, the way real couples do. If he was going for less is more, so would she.
She settled on black leather chaps that tied up on the sides, and tight blue boy shorts that left the bottom half of her ass cheeks exposed. The blue shorts brought out the blue swirls in his trunks; she knew he'd appreciate that touch. Her top was a blue bandanna that she wore as a halter with a short black leather jacket with tassels on the sleeves.
They screamed “couple” in her eyes.
Completely satisfied with how she looked, Torren locked the door to her motel room and started down the hall. She deliberately stopped by the window and peered through the partially opened blinds of the people staying next door to her. She knocked on the window to get the attention of the young couple inside. Judging from their appearance, they were too strung out to know who she was, or that it was her music that they constantly banged on the wall about. She didn’t care. She still flipped them off before making her way to the stairs.
Reaching her hand through the busted window of the blue Ford Taurus to unlock the door from the inside. Torren slid into the driver's seat and leaned over to find the two cords that she had pulled out from under the steering column when she stole the car. Flicking the cords together, she listened as the engine reluctantly turned over.
She put the car in reverse, looked in the rear-view mirror at her makeup, then pulled out of the spot. As she turned onto the road leading to the highway, she listened to the knocks, bumps, and hisses that her car made. There wasn't time to do much about it now; not when she was on her way to get her man. But, she made a mental note to do something about it later in the week. The only thing she could do was turn the music up louder to drown out the car noise.
Truthfully, she should have stolen a better car than the piece of shit Taurus that she found in the parking lot of the Quickie Mart while driving through Tulsa, Oklahoma. There were plenty of better cars there to choose from but no one would have wanted to take this one. It was so sad looking that she took pity on it. She had been doing the owner of this crap car a favor, by taking it off of their hands.
The car was truly fucked. The oil light stayed on, and it drank gas like her mother drank liquor. The car had protested every inch of the ride across the three states that she traveled through in one day. She knew that it would only be a matter of time before that piece of shit breathed its last breath.
She needed to get gas again, but fuck that car. She had already refueled four times since she stole it. Gas wasn't cheap and she wasn't putting another dime in that gas guzzler. Speaking of money, she made a mental note to steal another credit card. It would only be a matter of time before the owner of the one that was tucked snugly between her left breast and strapless bra, would eventually realize that it had been lifted from the table in the diner, and canceled.
Laptop, butt bleaching, car, credit card, and more eyeliner from Walgreen's…her To-Do list was growing. She really needed to take some time off and take care of the necessities. Not tonight, though. She had other things to do. She couldn't do anything else, right now, but get to her man. Besides, once Lothbrok was by her side, he would help her remember all the things she needed to do.
As she came off of the highway exit smoke started billowing out from the engine. It backed up through the exhaust system, and came through the vents, inside the cabin. It was ironic – the air-conditioning vents in the car didn't work, but they seemed to work well enough to clog the inside of the car up with thick white smoke. She drove a few more miles before the smoke was so thick that she could no longer see. As she pulled the car over to the graveled shoulder of the road, the car knocked and shook, before it finally cut off.
Just her fucking luck.
She reached under the dash to flick the cords against each other again, trying to force the ignition to catch again, but it wouldn't. The engine had nothing left to give her. "Fuck Murphy and fuck his fucking law," she said calmly as she pulled the hood release.
She opened the car door, taking care to place both black, platform boots on the ground before lifting her backside from the seat. Placing her sunglasses on her eyes, she walked with one foot in front of the other to the front of the Taurus and placed her hand on the hood. It was hot, but not so hot that she couldn't feel under the front of the lever.
As she lifted the heavy metal hood and placed the rod in the slot to hold it in place, Torren let the smoke from the engine engulf her. It was quite a head rush breathing in the thick engine smoke through her nose, and exhaling it from her mouth. She patiently waited for the smoke to thin out before she bent, at the waist, over the engine. She didn't know what she was looking for, but she knew that someone would see her looking over the engine and stop to help her.
Now, if only someone would actually come down this dark stretch of road, she could be back on her way to Ivar.
It didn't take long before a pair of headlights rounded the bend of the road, just off to her right. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, she accentuated the leather, chaps against her hips, and lifted her ass higher in the air, to catch the driver's attention. She couldn't help but smirk when she heard the tires of a large vehicle turn onto the graveled pavement in front of where she broke down. She didn't turn to face the car or the driver. She didn't care who they were or what they looked like. She had an appointment to keep and this pit stop was fucking up her timetable.
"You need some help?" A deep voice asked as its owner approached her.
Torren took a moment to peer around the hood, noticing that there were no other cars around. "Broke down," she answered, continuing to bear her weight from one hip to the other. She placed her hands on the metal frame of the car, arched her back, and looked at the man over her shoulder. "You know something about cars?"
"Yeah," he replied, moving around to her side, looking at her, and not the smoky engine.
She gave him half a smile, as she noticed him notice her. "You a mechanic or something?" She asked standing up. She rubbed her hands together to remove some of the visible engine soot while considering the guy in front of her. He was about 6 feet tall with a moderate build. He was dressed in blue jeans, a black t-shirt, and Timberland boots. He didn't look like he was more than 25 years old. Judging from the way he was looking at her and from the ring on his left hand, he wasn't too worried about her car, or his wife, for that matter.
"Nah, not a mechanic, but I work on my own car... in my spare time." He smiled when she did. She was gorgeous, in that slutty kind of way. She wouldn't be dressed like that and leaning over the hood of a car if she wasn't looking to have some fun. "Lemme take a look at it."
Did he work on his car? Hopefully, that meant that his ran better than hers did.
Torren moved over to the side and let him take the position under the hood. "I'll be right back," he explained before walking over to the bed of his F150.
Grabbing a flashlight from the trunk, he took a second to admire the view of her, from behind. If he could get her car moving again, she would hopefully follow him to this cheap motel he knew that was just up the highway.
He leaned in close, taking a whiff of her hair, "You overheated…want to check the coolant level."
She had heard him say something else but she had stopped listening; she was too busy watching the street. "You want me to try to start it?" she asked, removing her sunglasses before making her way to the driver's door. She wasn't sure if he answered or not. She had no intention of driving the Taurus again, even if he could get it started. She just needed to get something out of the car.
She slid into the seat and reached down on the floor. She found the hard metal object on the floor of the passenger's side and gripped it tightly. As she walked back around to the front of the car, she heard him talking, presumably about the car, or maybe he was asking her out. Who the fuck knows? She was on a tight schedule and all of his chatting was holding her up. She stood by the side of the hood, looking at the angle he was leaning over the hood. Quickly, she lifted her arm, and with one powerful blow, she struck him in the head with the crowbar that she used to procure her now-defunct car.
Torren stood over his body, looking at him intensely. God, it felt good. The rush of knowing that one minute this dude was towering over her, and the next he was on the ground. She had dropped his ass. She was the one with the power.
"Thanks," she said, digging her hand in his pocket to retrieve his cash, credit card, and the keys to his truck. She wiped the blood on the crowbar on his shirt before walking to her new mode of transportation.
Torren sat in the truck's driver's seat and turned on the engine. She had managed to cross two things off of her To-Do list without even planning to.
Thank God the truck had air conditioning. All this heat and humidity was bound to make her hair frizzy. She cranked the AC up as high as it would go and sat still for a moment enjoying the cool air. After a minute, she adjusted the seat and tilted the rearview mirror to look at herself. She was starting to sweat and her eyeliner was starting to run just a bit at the corners of her eyes. She dabbed at the black liner to even out the lines, and then pushed the mirror back to where she could see. Giving the area another once-over, she made sure that no one else had seen her interaction with that guy on the ground, before pulling out from the gravel and onto the paved street.
"Ugh!" Torren yelled. Chester Bradley, the printed name on the credit card, had shitty taste in music. She pushed the stereo button on the steering wheel to do a scan of the radio. Anything was better than country music. Once she found some trap music on the XM radio, she turned up the volume and pulled back onto the highway.

Hahahaha…no but seriously. Mark. Hnnnggg his voice is so sexy. His moans are probably… wow he’s sick. He has a sexy voice and HE KNOWS IT. I KNOW HE KNOWS! SLUT!!! 😵💫😵💫
NO FR FR FR HE . i was thinking abt this earlier like . in OK! specifically, i think that when it comes to The Iconic Line and how they all deliver it differently, i think that i wasn't even ranking mark #1 for his pronunciation, nor do i think i even actually considered Pronunciation very much bc like . i ranked jeno over yangyang for that line but yangyang sounds much more fluid speaking english than jeno so clearly that's not the criteria i was going for kdgfskj
it was like . edge factor + charisma i think? like mark sounds Like A Rapper. He sounds LIKE A RAPPER it was SEXY i can't do this o hmy g od he sounds so hot saying that line . maybe its not abt like whether they pronounce the words "right" but his accent and speech pattern DEF plays a factor for me... like...
(under the cut, you will find a Very Long rant i went on about mark's rapping style vs. other members' rapping styles and quite a few other slightly tangential topics... apologies...)
i attempted to bold and color the parts of mark's line that just make his delivery my personal favorite, but as you can see.... i pretty much did the whole... thing... rip. anyway:
MARK: "my baby says she wanna dance with a ghost, she wants to leave me, uh" >> LIKE. okay . okay . not even just this line but his "YEAH" right before the line . he sounds like . Right . like he doesn't sound silly at all he's SELLING IT like do i know what that shit even means? NO!! BUT I'LL BE DAMNED IF HIS BABY DIDN'T SAY SHE WANNA DANCE W A GHOST!! AND SHE WANTS TO LEAVE HIM!! UH!! like there's so much charisma in his delivery and he raps LIKE A RAPPER. (or at least far more like a rapper than . other idols that come to mind)
there are a lot of idols who are "rappers" but are not Rapping. johfam, i'm sorry, i'm coming for him for a second. (edit: so by "a second," it turns out i meant that i was gonna keep bringing him up... apologies) have y'all seen that post that's like "johnny raps like he's reading the periodic table" or smth? bc THEY'RE RIGHT!!! LIKE THEY'RE SO RIGHT !! yes, johnny is fluent in english just like mark, but . they deliver their lines so differently.
i think that mark likes to experiment with his voice and see what he can do which is SOOOOOO fun and sexy i love that he's not just trying to Stick To His "Thing" like he wants to grow and do better and that's soooooo sexy and attractive oh god... but like, mark, to me, does have a bit of an advantage when it comes to rapping bc he DOES speak with a more, like, "urban" speech pattern than, like, johnny. who's from the suburbs in chicago. mark lived in QUEENS like he . he sounds Edgier if that makes sense... there's a nuance to the way he stresses sounds and pronounces certain syllables that, to me, feel Really Natural and fitting for, like, rapping.
ppl have def said before that mark's speech pattern borders on a blaccent at times, and i'm not even refuting that; if ppl hear it, then they hear it, yknow? who am i to tell them what they do and don't hear? but like for the most part, i personally don't think he has a blaccent–when i think of those like non-black tiktokers who feign a blaccent and a rly like "hood" persona, it feels really disingenuous and disgusting, tbh bc like . even if you Grew Up Around Black People... i'm willing to bet the black people you allegedly grew up with were NOT talking like that dsjfghdkl (also how the specific brand of white "hood" girls on tiktok all talk the exact same....yet are from entirely different areas of the country....yet got their accents from living around black people.... but black ppl from baltimore don't sound like black people from louisiana, so what's up w that, babes?)
BUT LIKE okay back on topic: sometimes, when tiktokers like the ones i just mentioned, the ones that make disgusting and reductive caricatures out of what they believe to be "Black Culture," are getting gathered by ppl in their stitches and duets and stuff, there are nonblack people who put these weirdos in their places. and these people say they grew up around black people, and You Can Tell !! they don't have a blaccent, they're not forcing anything at all, but there is a specific way that they've picked up on and been influenced by the speech patterns of the black ppl they grew up with !!
i think that, to me, mark seems more like he rly did just have more like... black influence growing up? i'm not saying he was invited to The Cookout or whatever but i think that he was more likely than, say, johnny, to be exposed to ppl of diff backgrounds (not by much,,, in like person,, except for the time where he lived in NYC, which he did for 5 years during a time in human development where we learn a Lot From Our Peers) and like . he's always liked rap music, y'know? so he most likely listened to rap music (which is a Black genre...like it was created, developed, popularized, AND most successfully done by black people) and started picking up on the way they spoke !!
like okay quick sidebar: i have never not attended PWIs. i was socialized for the majority of my life, especially my most formative years, around rich, mostly white girls who were the daughters of socialites. there were other non-white students present, ofc, but we all . for the most part . spoke very similarly . so much so that, like, when i'd go to summer camp or smth and interact w kids whose socioeconomic and racial backgrounds were actually more similar to mine than my classmates but had been socialized to speak/behave differently (note: this is in no way a bad thing. i just want to make that abundantly clear.) and like !! it was a bit of a culture shock for me AND them !! it also took me time to, like, get used to it bc i didn't speak the way they spoke, y'know? so i started learning to code switch and with time i developed a way i spoke At School amongst My (preppy/rich/usually white) School Peers and a way i could speak in more comfortable settings around not-rich, not-preppy, not-white peers!! but that kind of language development is Learned and Developed, yknow? sometimes i'm not even aware that i'm slipping more into, like, AAVE when i'm talking to my mom, and she's like Oh??? what does that mean??? and i'm like "oops." so there are terms, obviously, that black people use, but there are also certain like . ways to pronounce things that differ depending on your background !! i have elements in my speech pattern that sound very like . i rly cannot find the right term rn but i have like two different influences for my speech pattern and they're both very different, but if i pay attention to myself when i speak, i tend to use elements from both speech patterns in, like, the same sentence dgfkjslkf SO. TLDR: language and speech patterns are very much developed and are fostered by the community that you grow up in as well as the media you expose yourself to.
ANYWAY back on track . as someone who i think had more black influence in his upbringing than, again just to keep the metaphor going, johnny, i think mark developed a speech pattern that, in some ways, echoes how some black people speak !! but i also think that MY upbringing has a lot to do w how i receive mark's rapping lines as opposed to johnny's or smth. mark's speech pattern is far more familiar to me than johnny's, i think, and like... because he sounds more like What Rap Music Artists I Know sound like than johnny, i'm like, yeah, that sounds good, that sounds right, that sounds familiar !! mark has a much better sense of how to stress certain syllables and manipulate certain sounds because i think he grew up with rap music far more than johnny did and was probably around more ppl of different backgrounds !!! like––again, no offense to johfam, i come in peace––johnny raps like a suburban dad at a barbecue reading off the instructions on how to work the grill. to me, he doesn't deliver the lines...he just says them. mark, imo, delivers his lines and, like, seems to make more of a concerted effort to sell it, yknow?
now, to be fair, i think that mark is at an advantage compared to johnny bc as we can see, he gets way more lines and opportunities to practice and improve himself. i feel like if johnny was given as much attention by,,,,, idk the producers? coaches? the music team? you get what i mean hopefully sdfgkhdf,,,, as mark has access to (or even, like, a fraction of their time, yknow?) i bet he could at least be coached more on, like, How to deliver certain lines and i'm not even saying he has to Sound "Black" or even Sound Like Mark; i'm saying that there are times when he's singing/rapping or smth (in english bc i am only able to critique his english delivery obvi) where he says smth and i'm like . Suburban Dad At A Barbecue.... they could at least give johnny pointers on how to kinda ease off of that affect he uses ??? idk ??? bc there are def artists in the western rap industry that don't rap the way i'm "used to" or the way i'd expect... like lil dicky !!!! i mean this so genuinely: lil dicky is a super entertaining rapper and i think he's very talented !!! i think that, though, he has a Very Unique rapping delivery that isn't common and also isn't really very compatible for, like, featuring on other people's songs. lil dicky's THING is like "hey i'm kind of a corny/dorky white dude but i can rap!!" and like. yes you are and yes you can king 💖 but lil dicky's style of music would be out of place in Another Rapper's style, but he could invite other rappers to his style. for example like his song w snoop dogg called professional rapper !! lil dicky's audience KNOWS how he sounds already; they're expecting that sound from him, and they know it's different than "typical" rappers! when snoop dogg is on lil dicky's song, it's bringing in, like, what we more typically expect from rap music (snoop dogg) which contrasts with what lil dicky does!! i'm simplifying a lot bc i am realizing how much i've written and i'm aghast tbh so . if you want me to elaborate on the following analogy, just ask!!
more traditional sounding, "cool" rappers: snoop dogg, mark lee
less traditional sounding, "uncool" rappers: lil dicky, johnny
when SM gives 127 songs with rap parts, they are 100% always aiming for sounding more traditional sounding, "cool" (why do you think we hear words like "ethnic," "urban," "street," "hip-hop" all the time? i'm not saying i agree w their word choices, i'm just pointing it out to clarify my point) in their songs.
when mark raps his lines, he is being a more traditional sounding, "cool" rapper. his vibes are consistent with the sound they're aiming for. when johnny raps his lines, he is being a less traditional sounding, "uncool" rapper. his vibes are inconsistent with the sound they're aiming for (to me; i feel like their production team prob doesn't 100% agree bc like . they're obvi still having him do what he does, y'know) so if their production team wants a more traditional sounding, "cool" sound, then they should coach johnny (as well as other members who get rap parts on their songs) how best to fit the sound they're looking for... does that make sense at all?
(also just while i'm thinking abt it: this can apply to jaehyun, too !! he def has had some rap moments where i was like Baby, Let's Not Do That, Actually... (think dancing in the rain) bc he sounds, at times, more similar to johnny's "style" than he does to mark's, ig. but i think that not only is the SM production team wising up, but also jaehyun is improving!! bc they're not giving jaehyun the same kinds of lines they'd give mark or johnny, rly. they give jaehyun lines where he can talk fast, he can speak low/deep/huskier, kinda be "sexy" when rapping? kinda like whisper-rapping (think abt bring the noize) and/or somewhat melodic sing-talking rapping (think lemonade) and etc. so !! i'm not just coming for johnny i promise i rly am just using him as an example !! i think SM's production team is essentially trying to fit a square peg (johnny) into a round hole (edgy/"cool" rap lines) and it really doesn't seem to be working, at least to me. i think SM should figure out, like, what they want johnny to Do and what he's Best At and what he could Improve On. bc i'm gonna be real, his lil monologue in favorite (vampire) was NOT it. at all. it was the mark tuan-ification of johnny suh (if you don't know what i mean, check out this song by got7; if the timestamp doesn't work, go to 2:30-2:40...yeah.) and i was not a fan at all in the slightest dfsgjsdlk)
OKAY I'M RLY WRAPPING THIS UP IT'S RIDICULOUS THAT I WENT ON FOR THIS LONG esp bc like . you poor, poor soul, anon... i'm so sorry you didn't ask for this at all kdjsfgkljdfk BUT IN SOME SORT OF SUMMARY: there are obviously very different, distinct ways and styles of rapping and people are naturally going to have preferences and opinions !! i just think that sometimes SM's production team attempts to Do Too Much in some of their songs... they could either help/coach the members whose voices don't quite fit the vibes they're going for OR they could compose songs and parts that DO fit these members' voices !! i don't want it to seem like i'm over here going "give [insert member] more/less lines!!" bc i'm not !! i just want SM's team to like...play to their strengths... and either accommodate or hone each member's individual charm so they all get an actual genuine chance to put their best foot forward y'know? don't try and combine, like....uh.... glazed donuts and ranch dressing to make one very odd, potentially icky dish... find separate recipes where we can make use of the glazed donuts AND we can make use of the ranch dressing. hhhHHHhh yeah okay i think i said my piece finally...
anyway....i went on SUCH a long rant holy shit i'm sorry that's my bad dfgsdf I BLAME THE ADDERALL I TOOK EARLIER IT MAKES ME VERY VERY VERY CHATTY.
#answered#anon#literally i am so sorry for how long this response is#you awakened smth in me ig bc . all of this came out......#🧍🏽♀️#i don't rly have anything to say for myself ... this is truly My Bad#now if i could just word dump in this WIP document.......like i did here...... hhhhh#okay fr now i'm gonna answer my newer messages as quickly/concisely as possible then i'm gonna go ahead and capitalize on...#this wordiness i am feeling atm...

( bethany joy lenz, forty-six, she/her ) did you know that christine “spike” nelson is in toronto? wow, time really has flown by since graduation. do you think they still remember having emma when she was so young? i know she graduated in 1992, but i heard since then they’ve been running her own hair business. they were always kind-hearted, but also had a tendency to be hard-headed too. i heard they still request just like heaven by the cure at above the dot’s karaoke night.
FULL NAME: christine nelson
NICKNAME: spike
BIRTHDATE: 20 september 1975
FAMILY: emma nelson ( daughter ) & jack simpson ( son ) / archibald “archie” “snake” simpson ( husband / tbd if someone picks up snake )
GENDER & PRONOUNS: cisfemale & she/her
SEXUALITY: spike is heterosexual. though she had moments where she’s experimented with her sexuality and thought that maybe she might be bisexual, or even more fluid in her sexuality, she currently still labels as heterosexual and doesn’t see herself as being with a woman.
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: spike has a few tattoos, and a couple of small burn marks on her arms from when she started hairdressing. but nothing big and bold that you would really notice unless you truly were looking to pay attention to that sort of thing.
HAIR COLOR: as a hairdresser, spike has had many har styles, but her current hair is her natural brown color and straight. no longer stylized in a punk rock way like her nickname
christine was born to a young single mother and never really got a whole lot of everything. her mother worked hard for the two of them, and spike was...well, a bit rebellious trying to make sure everything she did was worthwhile for some time. but, of course, things didn’t go exactly as planned when after her first time having sex she wound up pregnant. she didn’t know what to do and how to react or anything, because she was so young and didn’t know if she could even handle being a mother. but, firmly believing that no matter what her boyfriend at the time believed, it was her choice to do what she wanted, spike went through with her pregnancy and became a mom at the tail end of her middle school career with the support of her mother and other friends around her.
of course, things weren’t easy. her boyfriend wasn’t there for herself or the baby and it wasn’t exactly his fault but it was hard to see him living his life while she felt like she was struggling to keep her head above water most days. studying and keeping everything up with her daughter, it was a lot of work. while for a while shane paid some child support money, it got more complicated after his accident and left spike worried about what to do with everything she might need. and also about what might be coming for her in the future when it would be the world ahead of her and her daughter.
graduation came and she felt like she was able to live her life, but she was working as a beautician and taking care of emma still. she always knew it would be hard work, but balancing it now that she was out of school she thought it would be easier.
for some time it was, until emma hit her pre-teen years and spike was faced with the realization that she not only raised a mini-me, but a mini-caitlin in some ways too, and it was a lot to handle. while spike was still young and trying to live her own life--falling in love for real once more--she was struggling with how emma was going to handle everything too. and maybe things didn’t pan out the way they would have in a perfect world, but why would they?
she wound up pregnant once again before her wedding to snake and worried about what he might say about the pregnancy, she kept it a secret. it was the worst secret she might have kept and caused a fight. instead of getting married in the dress she’d picked out she wound up getting married in one of her old favorite band t-shirts and jeans, to the man she loved since high school and it was one of the best days of her life.
of course, that didn’t mean everything was perfect. she still had to deal with troubles of raising a teenager, and a new baby, and also having a husband for the first time.
eventually spike opened up her own salon business with money she’d been saving over the years and it’s been going well lately, but she’s still living paycheck the paycheck.

JSE Renaissance Week - Day 4
Day 4 (June 28th): Artist’s/Writer’s day. Do you have favorite pieces of fanart, an edit, or a fic that you or someone else has created? Reblog that sh*t with a comment saying how much you love it– it’ll probably make someone’s day! Bonus points if you create something for this. Extra bonus points if it’s a collaboration with another community member!
BOLD OF YOU ALL TO ASSUME I HAVE ANY EGO ART I’VE CREATED THAT I STILL FEEL OKAY POSTING. I’VE IMPROVED SINCE THEN AND IT IS NASTY. EGO ART COMING MAYBE EVENTUALLY.
YEAH THAT’S RIGHT I USED TO MAKE EGO ART. ONLY OG FOLLOWERS WILL REMEMBER THAT SHIT. PLEASE DON’T GO LOOKING FOR IT, I DON’T LIKE MY OLD ART.
Until then I scream like a moron about my favorite creators, some of which have actually moved on from the JSEC but I love them anyway so they can fight me in a dark alley for having the audacity to love them.
*BIG GAY INHALE*
@turquoisemagpie. YOU ABSOLUTE TRADITIONAL ART WIZARD. MY GOD. Your art style has me head over heels all over again with every piece you post. You’re where like- 14 year old me wanted her art to be. You are so insanely talented, your style is amazing, your range is mindblowing, and I cherish the commission of my infamous Bunker Trouble Trio SO MUCH. It was my laptop’s wallpaper for probably over a year. If I hear your commissions are open, I will be HEAVILY considering coming back. I could write an entire post just gushing about how much I love your art. Always keep creating, even what you might think is your worst or less than your usual quality would more than likely be something I’m still working my way up to. You are the DEFINITION of goals. <3
@septic-dr-schneep. WHERE DO I START. Hyperfixation or no hyperfixation, your work ethic is INSANE. I can’t BELIEVE how much you crank out in one hour let alone one day. Even if that’s slowed since before my little Tumblr break, you still blow my mind. I feel drained of creative juices just managing out one long piece for my OCs! Keeping track of a whole series of blurbs, defining canon and not within those, and coming up with a coherent story through each blurb, BASED OFF REQUEST PROMPTS FROM RANDOM PEOPLE? That’s AMAZING. I admire that passion you have so much, and even your breaks and burnouts don’t stop you. I LOVE that!
@lum1natriix. GOD where do I start with your gifs. JSE or other content, they are STUNNING. They’re such smoothly moving, high quality. You put so much work into them and it SHOWS, and I don’t even know where you would Start with making one, it’s always sounded like a Big Process, but your finished products look so awesome! No matter what you make gifs (or edits) of nowadays, I still adore your work. :)
@huffletrax. YOUR ART STYLE IS ADORABLE. It’s so squishy and fun and your coloring is IMMACULATE. And I love that despite your cute, round style, you still really pull off those angsty doodles you make occasionally. >:D You have a range and I’ve loved watching your improvement from the time I was new on Tumblr up to now. Keep going!!
@huffle-dork. I hope this doesn’t count as a mass post because BOY YOU DESERVE SOME APPRECIATION. You have crazy talent, both in your characters AND BACKGROUNDS. MY GOD DUDE, YOUR BACKGROUNDS. Even the ones that are just maybe a swoosh of colors look BEAUTIFUL. Dare I say they’re print worthy all on their own! I love the way you color things, and your style has such range too! Sometimes I can see similarities in my art to yours, and that’s been such a helpful way of keeping my motivation to keep improving up. I admire your art so much, and I love your Subnautica Egos series. <3
@d-structive. GOALS. JUST- GOALS. AGH. I love your style range so much! Your usual squareish stuff, your chibi stuff, your silly shitpost style (dare I callback to the buff ballerina Jameson,,,). All of it!! There’s just something so fun and fluid about it, yet its so square and neatly sharp at the same time! You balance those sorts of elements so well in your art, and I really love your ego designs too. <3 You probably have one of the most easily identifiable Marvin designs in the community, and he’s a little sneaky bastard man. >:D
@spunketpunk. BRUH DO I EVEN NEED TO SAY ANYTHING CAUSE LIKE. WOW. Your COLORING. Your art POPS and its so fucking cool. I love neon and saturated colors and its so rare to find artists who do (at least in my experience) and that’s something that seems like a huge part of your medium and I LOVE THAT. It makes your art insanely unique, and I love the aesthetic of those colors combined with your usually sketchy, messy lineart. Just- *chef’s kiss.* Your originality is fantastic, never lose that no matter what you explore. <3
@dumbthinmint. HEY WHAT’S UP LENGTHY SUPER DEVELOPED AU MAKER BUDDY?? LIKE HOLY SHIT DUDE. The lengths you go research and lore-wise for your AU? BRUUHHH. *slams hands on table* INSANE. And the way you make theory posts IN REFERENCE TO IT? That makes your theorizing stuff SO UNIQUE, I love it! Even when I feel like I can’t push my Ego AU lore with my friends too much further, you’re out here constantly dropping BOMBS of lore and honestly that makes my personal motivation with my own stuff soar right back up. I LOVE watching your AU unfold and progress, and your dedication to it is stunning. :D
There’s so many other artists, writers, editors & more I could tag but I don’t want this post getting 53826 miles long. :’D Just know that if any of you create things and I follow you, I think you’re doing great, I admire your stuff, and I hope you keep it up, no matter if its JSE related or not. <3
