This little NPC is lost. The Narrator [Black] has come to guide her back to where she needs to be. [Blank Scripts AU]

I imagine Black would be a lot more tolerant toward his NPCs since they're basically just the Dungeons spawns, and by extension, his own creations.

[If you're familiar with manhwas / manhuas that features the dungeon / system genre, you'd be able to understand this AU a lot easier. The majority of my inspiration for worldbuilding came from those specific genres.]

[NOTE: 'Dungeon' is just another term for the Parable. Technically, Black owns a Dungeon and the Parable is just a small part of it. The Dungeon itself is much, much larger.]

For context, the comic below references this post about the Dungeon's children/guard dogs.

[They're more like the immune system since all they do is make sure the (body) is safe.]

[The reason the Narrator [Black] considers them his children is that the Dungeon is feeding off his energy and in turn shares the 'nutrients' to the monsters it produces, which transforms them into an image that resembles his power.]

And the old man below is Joseph!

Joseph is NOT AN NPC! He is a person who exists outside of the Dungeon!

[There are two separate 'worlds' for this AU. Inside the Dungeon (where most of the game-like stuff is happening) and the world outside (pretty much their normal world.)]

[There is a secret third world, and that's our world. Our reality.]

These characters are not actually important or anything, I just made them to make the AU feel more lively. To make a world that exists, you know?

When the Narrator [Black] first established himself in their world, he found a growing problem with homelessness. Not understanding human norms or why this has become a problem in the first place, he offers (tricks) them into working for him as janitors for the Dungeon and they accept for the money.

Most of them left after they got paid, but Joseph was one of the people who stayed. He doesn't have anywhere else to go and has no ambitions in life. He just wishes to live a peaceful life with food and a roof over his head.

Joseph defaults to referring to the Narrator [Black] with feminine terms due to his appearance despite his voice. The Narrator [Black] is not the type to care for such terms anyway so he doesn't care how other people refer to him as long as there's respect.

This post focuses more on the worldbuilding and background aspects of the AU! There are a lot more in store for the Blank Scripts AU, and I want to explore more on how the characters might interact with their surroundings and how this would work to make a world that makes sense.

It would be so cool if people made self-inserts or OCs for my AU actually. I'd love to see how you guys would work with my stuff. Play around with it like a barbie world for your little barbie dolls. Be canon compliant, be canon divergent, who cares, have fun.

Guys maybe it's time for me to introduce my ocs 💥

Lehti is my main oc and the protagonist!! I created him in 2019 and he's the one I drew the most in my life. He's a human, though he doesn't look like one. He's very ostracised from society because of his appearance and his disability, the other humans even want him dead for reasons I can't really explain yet. He can't have any real job so he lives of thievery and decided to actively become a menace to society as vengeance 😈

Melek is his sign language translator/interpretor! She is his voice and his ears. She was an homeless orphan, he took her in and provides her housing and food in exchange of her services. She follows him around everywhere to translate everything for him. She wears a mask because helping out Lehti one way or another is seen as treason and is punishable by death by the other humans, so he makes her wear it to protect her identity.

At first their relationship was only transactional, with time they became more like siblings.

Maybe one day I'll turn those ocs into a real fantasy story, who knows

Lehti is very fun but also enigmatic. He doesn't seem to mind being a wanted man, even pulls of the theatrics when he's being chased. He's very similar to Lupin the Third in that regard, very playful, loves the attention and likes to taunt and have fun while thieving. He has very low empathy and doesn't really get sad or angry easily. It's like "Oh everyone wants me dead for no reason? Fun!" kind of chaotic neutral. He does have a darker/more sadistic side sometimes when interacting with the humans, so he might be motivated by vengeance in a deeper level 🤷 who knows

Also he's transmasc!! If that wasn't obvious enough lol. Medical transition isn't a thing in their fantasy universe, but it's ok he's not dysphoric or anything. He gets misgendered a lot but Melek is the only one who hears it and she always corrects people so it's a win for him

I don't usually take the time to post or talk about my ocs because I always end up brainrotting about something else, I really want to try and draw them more!

Melek on the other hand is very timid. She doesn't speak much outside of her job and was really just following him around like a shadow at the beginning. She didn't really have any goal in life before and was just surviving, now that she has a more "secure" situation (aka not having to worry about food or housing anymore), she's learning how to enjoy life again and even create a future for herself. I love her and she's a character that I'd love to develop more!

SOSA CONSIDER THIS AN INVITATION TO YAP ABOUT IRENE. WHO IS THIS MYSTERIOUS AND WONDERFUL ADLER THATS A FRIEND OF LUCHS!!

Hey Lynx! sorry for the lateness. By the time I finished drawing and started writing I had a “suddenly forgot everything about the character” moment, but here we go anyways!:

Alright so this woman, alongside two kolibris (Westen and Alan, her husband) long time ago fled her facility after potentially killing their Falke unit after a series of escalations that came from Alan's potential decommission. They stumble on what seemed to be an imperial military base that got partially destroyed an abandoned (not totally true, an Ara had found it first, but they sorted it o peacefully), they settled there and that place eventually became the shelter where all my persona degraded replikas en up going.

Irene's love for creative stuff comes from her finding administrative duties painfully boring, but also having a constant need to do things. At first she would write microfiction as a way to vent, but later she would get invested in them, which lead to her starting drawing in order to help her visualize scenes and so on. In typical adler fashion, she gets bored easily, so she rotates between multiple projects to keep things fresh (in a modern AU she would be the type of artist that has a folder with like +100 wips and it's working on all of them simultaneously).

After being considered for so long “the spare Adler unit” of her own facility, Irene developed an inferiority complex as well as self-sabotaging tendencies and a need for other's approval (I could write a testament about this as well as the other adler, but that's a topic for another day). By now she’s very self aware of this so she tries to keep her emotions in check (to mostly positive results), but it’s a constant struggle between being a rational being vs the need to bitch over the pettiest things.

Despite having very different personalities (guy that is friendly (if also a little smug and unsettling) that loves fucking around with others vs woman that is reserved, serious and has a trouble connecting with others), Alan and Irene compliment each other quite nicely. Alan does this thing where he says some out-of-pocket shit (something something "never let them guess your next move"), but Irene takes it seriously and it leads to either some banter between them or actual debating about the weirdest of topics. They also share a love for reading and Alan makes ground Irene when she starts ruminating (cofcof also Irene has a thing for biorenonance cofcof). They have A LOT of story together, but again, that's a topic for another day.

Side note, but despite calling each other "husband" and "wife", technically they're actually fiancés. Alan would like to do a little ceremony but Irene feels the time isn't right yet.

Now, when it comes lo Luchs:

When Echo first arrived at the shelter, she was horrified to find out that the replikas that helped her (Alan and Westen) were kolibris (imagine that you're really wounded from falling from a cliff, you get rescued by the mind police and they could find out about your very bad and illegal thoughts). Despite their best attempts to calm her, she ended up more distressed about it, so Irene took it to herself to undo her (back then) boyfriend's wrongdoing. Irene had a gentler approach by mostly giving her space but also every once in a while checking up that she's doing fine. At first Echo was wary of her, but eventually she trusted her enough that when she decided she has going to stay, she stuck mostly by her side, being Irene akin to a big sister for her.

The friendship that she has with Luchs it’s a very introvert/introvert dynamic, in the sense that they can happily hang out in silence, each other doing their thing (sometimes when Luchs is feeling low on on energy, she goes to watch Irene draw, it’s kinda like irl ASMR). Due to this they tend to stick together during social gatherings.

When Luchs goes out to do some bird watching she makes sure to look out for things that Irene might like, such as feathers, some types of rocks and animal bones which BY THE WAY, the whole arm tattoo thing started because Luchs offered her a reindeer skull that Irene plans to use for practicing wood burning. Luchs has yet to deliver (she accidentally keeps breaking them or the antlers).

So yeah, they have each other. Luchs brings company and is non judgamental with Irene, and Irene gives relationship advice when she starts very angsty about Charlie or lends an ear when Luchs wants to vent.

Bonus random facts:

I didn't get to draw it, but her neutral face looks like a mix of sadness and disappointment. She's aware of this, so she prefers to smile when talking to others.

She's great at math. It probably has to do with the fact that she was built to do administrative duties that often requires doing lots of calculations. That doesn't stop her from boasting about it tho.

She has written a horror novel. If you ask nicely enough she might lend it to you to read, apparently it's quite good.

You know how some people count sheep to fall asleep? She makes spreadsheets in her mind. About what? literally anything!

The concept of Irene has existed on my mind for a while (almost since the conception of Luchs), but Irene being Irene is something relatively recent (since I drew that one headshot). I've decided that it also applies in-universe which is why without makeup or her trenchcoat she looks like a standard Adler unit.

after 3-4 months of age, Fake Peppino's little Fakelings are mature enough to go out into the world on their own. but once they do, they start to change, taking forms that better suit their own selves, and the interests they take once they're out there...

one mature Fakeling, wandering out to a nearby town, was entranced by the sight of a crumpled, worn newspaper, curious of the strange language and symbols on it. and so, they became obsessed, marveling at the wonders of written information, and began to stockpile as much of it as they could. and thus, giving rise to the first of the five grown Fakelings:

Paperino! the largest of the five siblings, and already as big as Fake Peppino, meaning they'll grow even bigger! their "horns" are simply spiked goopy hair, and not actually pointy to the touch. they're also quite calm and polite, rarely moving much besides to search for more "knowledge".

they are obsessed with knowledge, collecting anything with ANY sort of writing on it, from books, to old wrappers, to shirts with funny text on them. they consider all of it to be "books", and willingly share all of it at their Library. you can borrow anything you like from there, as long as you promise to return it! they are happy to share their "books" with anyone. just be sure you actually return it.... they are not very happy with people "stealing" their property! that might be the only time you ever see them get angry...

every piece they own they consider to be important knowledge, and that's something they're very hungry for.... literally. whenever they finish reading something, they will eat it, believing this will help them absorb the knowledge from it. (it doesn't... but you won't tell them that, will you?)

She's quite tall and well built, considering how active she is. She has one of those noses that's clearly been broken before and never really healed right, so not it's kinda crooked.

Outfits || Her work outfit is a simple white collared shirt rolled up to her elbows, under a black vest type thing--typical bartender uniform thingy. When she's not at work, she doesn't put a huge amount of effort into her appearance, dressing simple and practical rather than for fashion.

For as long as she could remember, Charlie's been angry.

At the world, at the people who ruined her life, at her brother, and most of all at herself. It started as a quiet burn inside of her when her brother died, and only intensified as she grew older and eventually escaped the facility. Eventually, though, with the right people to help, she's learned to start managing it. She's still angry, but now she doesn't have to beat up people twice her size to deal with it.

...at least for a while.

ANYWAYS.

She's friendly at the surface level--she has to be, working in customer service--but she's still pretty reserved and secretive. Paranoid, almost. She doesn't give up personal information easily. But if you're someone she's already close with, she's fairly loyal and open. It just takes a bit to get there.

She's really athletic, and enjoys playing and watching sports, working out, going to the gym, etc etc. She's reactive, adaptable, and a fighter at heart.

Charlie was twelve years old when her enhancement developed. She was simply sitting in her 6th grade science classroom, trying to ignore the boys in her class who kept throwing colored pencils at her. But eventually, she turned, yelled, "will you quit it?", and the lights in the classroom went out.

While in hindsight, it was painted as simply a coincidence--faulty wires, or something--Charlie knew deep down that it wasn't. She'd heard the stories of the kids who could do crazy things on tv, of course. But she'd also heard stories of those people being murdered, kicked out, and other unspeakable things. So, she was smart enough to stay quiet.

Unfortunately, someone else noticed.

Her science teacher, Mr. Holt. He'd always talked in class about the enhanced, seemed fascinated by them. Charlie had never thought much about that.. until he took her.

One moment, she was simply walking home from the park with her 5 year old little brother, Caleb, and the next.. a sharp pain in her neck, then darkness.

The siblings awoke in some sort of makeshift science laboratory that looked like it had been built out of a shed.

The next three and a half years of Charlie's life were a blur of experiments and agony. From what she could gather, Holt was fascinated by the enhanced, he would do anything to figure out why they could do what they could do, how that could help him, etc etc. Charlie and her brother were the unfortunate guinea pigs for his tests.

Caleb was killed a year into it, experiment gone wrong, and maybe he was the lucky one. And then Charlie was alone, terrified.

She was fifteen when she finally escaped, by stealing some chemicals from the lab, dumping them onto Holt's face, and making a run for it.

She wandered for a while, having no idea where she was, what to do, where to go, etc. She eventually found her way into the city, and for a while she.. survived. She slept wherever she could, found food, used the public computers in the library to find out that not only had she been pronounced missing and then dead, but her parents had died sometime in her absence as well. She doubted it was an accident.

She was angry. She was alone, terrified, starving, but most of all she was so, so angry.

Eventually, she came across this sort of.. fight club, for enhanced people. It offered a pretty good pay for the simple act of going into a pit and beating the shit out of someone.. no rules, just entertainemnt for whatever sickos decided to check it out.

It wasn't perfect, but it was the best opportunity she had. So, Charlie signed up. Even though most of her opponents were twice her size, she was able to fight defensively and use her powers to her advantage.

She used this as her primary income for food and basic needs for a while, until she met Robyn.

He was also a fighter at this place, around her age. They met between matches, quickly becoming good friends. Good enough that they were eventually able to scrounge together enough money to get a tiny apartment together and enroll in school.

Charlie now works as a bartender at the Sine, a sports bar a little away from her college campus. She shares an apartment with Robyn while she works on a kinesiology degree.
