i have one ep of severance left! i like it... although i will say... it feels very... familiar? something about the cinematography and tone just feels very... rote? which is intentional on some level but it does make me feel like i've seen it before, only now it's a(n anti-)corporate take on the same skeleton

#it feels like if ex machina and get out #decided to take on like... union busting and work-life balance within capitalism #which isn't a BAD thing but does #effectively #make it feel a lot less fresh #the faux/almost hororr vibes is just... a bit overdone #messaging is great tho the shots are gorgeous #the theming is blatant but rich #but it's just... familiar rly is the only word #did anyone else see the show homecoming with janelle monae?#it felt like that
