CATCHING MY BREATH, STARING OUT AN OPEN WINDOW

Wanda Cosma is based on Wanda from The Fairly OddParents. She is a 39 year old fairy, bookstore employee, and uses she/her pronouns. She has the power of wish granting. Wanda is portrayed by Lupita Nyong'o and she is open.

CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE

There are some people out there who claim that order and responsibility were overrated - not Wanda! Order and cleanliness and responsibility were what made the world work properly and keep it spinning. At this point in her long existence, the fairy was used to people calling her a downer and a party pooper simply because she had to point out the rules and what was expected. If someone had to do it, she was happy to be that person...usually. There were some instances where Wanda was happy to find a loophole and break some rules for the people she cared about - you could get away with breaking rules a lot easier when you knew them inside and out. It wasn't shocking that people tended to assume a type A fairy like Wanda would keep her head down but that just wasn't the case with her. Getting into fights when defending herself or her family wasn't off the table and between herself and her husband, Wanda was the most likely to fly off the handle. In the millennia or so that Wanda had been flying around the cosmos, she'd never imagined a time when she and Cosmo would be trapped anywhere...until Evermore happened. They'd been assigned a new kid and the second they poofed into the town, there was no poofing anywhere else. In certain ways, Wanda saw it as a blessing. They were distanced from the drama of Fairyland and Cosmo's mother! A win-win. It was easy to forget they were trapped with all of the daily shenanigans that Wanda went through with Timmy and Cosmo, even now that Timmy was too old to have fairies. They still help out, still grant wishes when people are in need, but now Wanda is free to pursue her own passions - like owning a bookstore with nooks and crannies to hide in and enjoy some peace and quiet over a cup of tea. No, she doesn't own the bookstore and it's a normal size but it's close to the dream and she loves spending hours there, forcing herself to relax and not think about whatever antics her husband is getting into.

7. What universe have you never even considered writing in, and why?

I mean, there are plenty of fandoms I've never considered because I'm not a part of them. But usually if I'm familiar with a setting I would at least consider it. I will say there are certain genres I don't care for. I'm not likely to engage with horror, or most period/historical stuff. Just not my thing.

2015!

12. What was the first fandom that you roleplayed within?

I think I technically did some Warriors roleplay on forums around middle school, but not for very long. My first Tumblr blogs were an odd combo -- I made two at once. The first was for Scribble, my first OC ever, based vaguely on Warriors.

The second was for Claire and Melburn Jackson, AKA Daniel's dead parents from Stargate: SG-1. A friend was playing Daniel at the time, and I had written a long fic where his parents were actually alive, so I just translated them to RP so I could write with them. (I reread the fic recently and it was hot garbage, absolutely no one in character whatsoever, but at least past me was having fun!)

13. Have you written original characters?

Several! Some on Tumblr, some on Discord, some on both. Sorted by fandom under the cut for those who are interested.

Fandomless:

Shoya! She's from a race of bird-people with wings but is unable to fly, so she fled to the stars to become a pilot. Out of all my OCs, she's probably developed the most distinct voice. I haven't played her in ages but have a tremendous soft spot for her.

Scribble! Who I mentioned above. She's a very excitable talking calico cat. And... that's about all there is to her. I made her in middle school as a Warriors OC.

Star Trek:

Petra! She's a time agent with an unnecessarily complicated and tragic backstory.

Dhanna! She's a Romulan soldier turned diplomat turned qowat milat (badass nun/ninja with a cool sword).

T'Mor! She's a half-Vulcan/half-Romulan botanist. She's a fairly new one but I absolutely adore her.

M'rell! They're a Caitian (cat alien) counselor. All floof and friendliness.

Harry Potter:

Beni! A very gentle Hufflepuff healer. Repurposed from one of my very very old OCs.

Bishop! A squib who winds up basically running IT/tech management for the Ministry of Magic. I also played his daughter, Nora.

DC:

A Clois kid! She's gone through several iterations. First she was called Jordan and only existed as vague ideas. Then she was Ella and had an unnecessarily complicated backstory that was hard to keep up with. Her current iteration is Martha. I am getting attached to her so she may make some sort of appearance soon.

i'm gonna do some more ooc posts just some deep dives on emma! sometimes it's cause it's being brought up in a thread and other times it just comes across my mind

tonights deep dive is: selecting her FC

so starting off when I was making Emma, I had a few set rules/guidelines I wanted to stick to when looking for a face claim

First, the two big eye color and hair color. In a lot of iterations of Joker, when his past self is shown (or just looking at the actor), a majority of the time he's born with brown hair and blue eyes. Eyes kinda vary a bit more, so I felt sticking to her getting brown hair from him to be a safe bet! Her mom, which I can go into detail on another dive, has blonde hair and brown eyes--so she gets her eyes from her mom.

Second, no big name actors. One reason is a lot of time when you see someone playing a teenager, they're like twenty-something and that was not the vibe I was going for. I wanted Emma to look more like a kid rather than a young adult, so that cut down a lot of options. Another reason is a lot of people have a lot of rules, and for one reason or another they might have an actor on their ban list. Totally respectable and understandable! But for someone who is planning to rp an OC, I don't want to lose my options because of that. Also, given how all the superhero franchises are just so HUGE, I did not want to pick someone who did ended up getting casted who'd ended up being in my universe.

So from there it was: find a lesser known actress with brown hair and brown eyes, who does not look like some young adult model.

I think from there I was going onto some website that had a like 'find an actor based off their features' search option and was scrolling through there for awhile. I honestly cannot remember any of the other contenders but once I saw Olivia Steele Falconer, I stuck to it!

Coincidentally, I actually already knew of the actress from her appearance on Once Upon A Time. The show, whose main character's name is Emma. So yeah, if you've seen that show you can see the parallels probably lol.

I've never been someone who likes to use icons in replies--I just overthink and stress out too much over them, so the lack of icons did not bother me too much! Olivia's character's style in OUAT is also nothing like Emma's, but she did some indie projects before the shore which majority of my photos are from! Thank goodness for her IMDB and her projects being on YouTube.

Are some messages not getting received to you, or something?

If messages are being sent to the main that we aren't getting, I'm not sure how we're supposed to know that but if you've been sending messages that you aren't seeing posted, that might be the answer. Not to sound short on main, but I'm assuming this is the same person who has been sending in asks reminiscent of "any applications?" "app count?" etc. which doesn't give us much to work with and can be answered if you simply look at our app count which we update when we have the time to do so. I feel like it's unnecessary to remind everyone that the admins are people who live a life outside of this little RP world that we've created for ourselves and we aren't on the main twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Please give us some grace when it comes to our hobby and keeping this place running, we can't always be perfect or on top of all updates immediately when they happen. If you've sent in an app and you're checking to make sure we received it, I suggest coming off of anon and DMing or sending an ask telling us who you applied for and asking if we got the app (sometimes Tumblr does eat those) and we'll let you know. Otherwise, please refrain from sending in four or five or six asks in a row within twelve hours vaguely asking about the app count because we won't be answering those. We know there is someone in this community who likes to stalk Disney RPs, for what reason? We don't know, but they do something similar and ask about Fairly Odd Parents and all sorts of out of pocket things that we delete from our inbox because we don't want to give them energy. So, if this is you, just know we won't be entertaining those asks and they will in fact be deleted. I hope this answers your question xx

QUESTIONS FOR THE MUN

10. I have a lot of characters, but I mostly stick with canon, because I don't always agree with the writers, but even their bad choices give me material to work with. There is one thing with Rhaenyra I WILL be ignoring in s2, because I am fairly certain they will be going down that road, is her knowing about Blood and Cheese. My interpretation of her will not know the details and will not condone it, because she would never hurt her sister's children for something Aemond did. Other than that, most of my HotD muses lean a tad more towards book canon, especially Aemma, but I can always adapt them to show canon as well

15. My favorite dynamic trope to rp is probably siblings/platonic deep relationships. I am a sucker for siblings that would go through hell for each other, or really good friends/cousins who are as close as siblings as well. As much as I love shipping, I feel like platonic relationships are undervalued in the rp community and they literally bring me so much joy. My Aemma and @bronzebtch are the best example for it, because they're as close as sisters and would die for each other, but they're entirely platonic & yet their relationship is so so powerful and beautiful. Also, my ladies as mothers with their babies. Chef's kiss. Or my ladies with their parents. Equally amazing.

18. Probably Rhaenyra's Queen verse, where she ascends the throne as she should have and properly rules. My girl deserved it. Bonus if it's a verse where all ( or at least most ) of her children survive

Oh there's quite a list for that, but i'll keep it short xD: shade posts, cliquey behavior, only writing one liners, forced shipping, ships that give me the ick ( like Luke & Aemond ), animated face claims and people who are very sensitive, solely bc i tag nothing and my blog is extremely trigger heavy xD we would not match

Who else will understand my deeply rooted love for my characters, other than the people who also write them?
