while watching westminster i braced myself for the grotesquerie of the brachycephalic breeds, but my god, is that the new breed standard for english toy spaniels? it was pulled out for ribbon consideration. its head is perfectly spherical. it looks like someone grafted the recessed melon head of a pug onto a spaniel body. its forehead is craning down to meet its nose. truly nightmarish what lengths showdog breeders will go to for the sake of 'breed standard'.
#it looks like a furry anglerfish with that jawline#the pug also made me very sad#because their traits are desirable and will be passed on and bred for even more extreme examples in their offspring#and so the wheel grinds on#i know this is old hat but the noses recessed enough to be in-line with the eye sockets is horrific#frog croaks

drawing own ocs ages me by a decade because there are no reference sheets except the ones I have drawn and they aren't even accurate because drawing is fucking hard
#kinda cheesing it a bit by making my chars as accurate as possible in the dragons dogma 2 character creator but of course even thats limited#at least i can get the face shape moulded right and rotate for angles and help me get the jawlines right#but i cant get a bunch of the eyes and noses right#artist problems#mine
