sorry it's not a wip game ask,, but I'm interested: was the idea of mermaid teru learning human language with ease based on the fact that teru is canonically good at english (which is especially hard for japanese native speakers) or is it just a fun coincidence? I just adore that fact and so it caught my attention in the fic!

Which is wild cause I was searching where the 'Teru is good at english' info comes from and it is from chapter 59. One of the chapters I re-read the most.

So there is a non zero chance that the gut feeling I had that "Teru would be good at learning other languages" was less based on vibes than I assumed and more of an "i forgot i read this but still internalized the information" case.

I don't know for sure though, I'll still consider it a coincidence since it was more of a stumble than a planned move. Thank you for letting me know Anon, I now feel a new level of fondness for fish Teru.
