Skyrim Fanfic: The four Children of Akatosh. Character masterpost.

Synopsis:

So, Alduin is fated to come back. Akatosh, deciding he’s sick of his firstborn’s shit, decides to throw the prophecy of “the last Dragonborn” upside down because fuck you he’s the dragon god of time. He’s making FOUR last Dragonborn! And three of them aren’t going to be nords because he thinks it’ll be funny.

So let’s meet our heroes why don’t we~?

Silir

Hair: red

Weapon of choice: dual war axes

Silir is a man that, above all else, wants to live out his days at a forge. His one true passion is blacksmithing. Stormcloaks are only drawing the Aldmeri dominion’s eye, and the way he remembers it; The empire looked the other way until Ulfric killed the high king. Ulfric is either a fool and power hungry madman or an unwitting pawn of the dominion in Silir’s eyes. But he’s not a huge fan of the Empire leaving Hammerfell out to dry during the Great War. He’s on his way back to Skyrim after a long apprenticeship in Cyrodil. Riverwood has long been his home, and he hopes Alvor will be willing to let him lend a hand around the forge.

J’adar has traveled far and wide in the trade caravans, but living in camps outside the city walls and haggling over furs and trinkets was never the life he wanted for himself. J’adar seeks to improve his Alchemy to make mixtures and cures for even the most obscure of diseases, and Skyrim’s abundance of ingredients are the perfect place to make a name for himself. He’s just, uh…going to have to figure out how to get into Skyrim without paying any fees for his more…exotic, ingredients.

Officially, to anyone who asks, he’s an imperial with a strange name and where he’s going or his reasons for being in Skyrim are none of your damned business. No, he will not lower his hood or remove his serpentine half mask. If you’re wearing thalmor armor or robes and ask (and not in a city or village.) he’ll cut your throat and be done with you. If you’re an imperial soldier and hear whispers of a hooded figure wearing a serpentine mask killing Thalmor? No you didn’t. In fact, your legate won’t even remember you asked that question, and states that if you were to hypothetically ask if there were Akaviri out there, then, hypothetically, they would tell you that these Alleged, sightings are mere campfire tales, and you would be wise to not ask about it again.

Lilina is a refugee from the Summerset Isle because she broke the Aldmeri rule of don’t question the accuracy of the narrative of history the Thalmor put out and don’t question our government. Suffice to say, she doesn’t think her spot at the academy is waiting for her. That’s okay though, because Skyrim has all of these cool barrows and Dwemer ruins to explore! And she heard the last remnants of the dragon cult ruins are here too! The study of dragons, nords, Talos…a lot of things…are banned by the Thalmor, so now she can study whatever she wants!

Young Lucia learns a harsh lesson about the world in Windhelm

Based off my alternate telling of the main storyline of Skyrim, where the Dragonborn is none other than the little orphan girl from Whiterun. I’ve had this story stewing in my mind for several years now and I think I might be close to actually writing it. The main premise is that Lucia is unable to adventure on her own (considering her age and lack of survival experience), so a small group forms with the goal of protecting her and saving the world. It’s entirely just because I want to write about my favorite followers and have them interact lol, and I thought that the idea of a Dragonborn that wasn’t fully capable of handling their destiny alone was neat (not to mention my love for found family tropes). I found this audio on TikTok and I found it to be rather fitting of one of the scenes in my mind.

Confession: I once read a Dragonborn x Alduin fanfic. I thought I was going to laugh thinking how ridiculous it would be to read it, but I admit I was wrong, it was so well written that I can't look at Alduin the same way as I used to. But I did. more incredible is that I do not regret

Let's go girls! Okay, maybe not so much. I'm damn tired, my brain is goo due to migraines on Sunday, Monday and today so... Hate that for me. I will write some Nevri x Morotar Hurt/Comfort but at the moment that is still all in my head. Instead, I'm going with a snipped from next weekend's new DwD II chapter! Ancano is, as always, an ass (ugh, I love him). Also under the cut because of spoilers.

A knock sounded. Ghash narrowed his eyes and stared unblinking at the door. Nevri sat rooted to her chair. Who wanted anything from her in the evening? Granted, it wasn't too late, so the visit wasn't rude, but it was certainly unusual. Maybe it's Colette, she thought and got up from her chair. Another knock followed. Nevri turned the key in the lock, pressed the handle and took a step backwards and stumbled back another. The Thalmor stood in front of her door, his face expressionless and his hands clasped behind his back. He looked different as he had taken off his long, pitch-black coat with the gold trim. Underneath was a dark purple tunic, as Nevri now realised. He had rolled up his sleeves, exposing sinewy forearms.

“Ah, you’re still awake. May I come in?” he asked, his tone as monotone as his countenance.

“What do you want?” Nevri immediately blurted out. Anxiety pressed on her stomach and made it queasy.  

“I just wanted to enquire about you.” The corners of his mouth lifted into something resembling a smile. But it didn't inspire confidence in Nevri. “Since I was involved in your rescue, it is my duty to look after you.”

“So, you've been looking after me. I'm standing upright. Is that it?” she said. Had he really been there? She did not remember him in the slightest. Only how she had been spewing water from her lungs and that the pale Altmer had been far too close to her.    

“Is that it?” he mimicked and made a step towards her, entering the room. “A little more gratitude might be in order.”

“How I remember it, you weren’t the one to pull me out of the ocean. Nor carry me to Colette,” she spat, but made another step back, the back of her knee hit her bedframe. Ghash sat next to her, his tail whipping.

Ancano closed the door behind him, then inspected her chamber with a look of depreciation. Everything in here seemed to displease him, but so did the whole college. In the one week that Nevri had been here, she had heard his lamenting often enough.         He stopped by her desk, his slender, golden fingers gliding over the two letters, keen eyes scanning them. A barely visible crease formed between his eyebrows as he read the second letter. Nevri bit on the inside of her cheek and thanked herself, that she had only written vague suggestions of the matters. He looked up, fixed his citrine gaze on her, staring her into the ground. Rarely had she encountered such a penetrating glare; only one other pair of eyes had had such a devastating effect on her. But that had been azure.

“To answer your question, yes, I have not been the one to recue you from the sea. My fellow agent had that honour, even though I deemed it hopeless.” His tone had become as sharp as his features, cutting like the keen edge of a blade. “A fall from such height, it's almost a miracle that you're standing in front of me.”

“It was pure luck,” Nevri answered quickly, maybe a little too quickly to not to raise suspicion. “And fast help. I would have drowned without it.”

Ancano took a few more steps towards her, stood right in front of her. He was not much taller than her, but he knew how to make himself look towering. A hint of lemon reached her nose, accompanied with pine needles. Under other circumstances, she would have described it as pleasant, but right now Nevri felt like she was shrinking under his scrutinizing gaze.

“I’ve seen people fall in similar conditions.” He paused, observing every movement in her face. “I have thrown people from comparable heights. It is a death sentence. No matter if there is stone, sand or water beneath them. The impact should have killed you, Dunmer.”
