Like literally everything else aside, killing off Izzy is dumb for, if not nothing else, the sole reason of wasting their best actor. Like Con is truly just something else.

Absolutely no shade to the rest of the cast (I mean that earnestly. I really love them all) but Con is just built different. He breathed life and love into a character that would not have been nearly as gripping if someone else had played him. His talent is honestly incredible. And not only that, he elevates the scenes of every other actor he’s with. His whole presence brings the show to another level for me.

Like…narrative be damned tbfh. If I were writing this show, I’d do ANYTHING to keep an actor that talented on my show. And killing him off DESPITE it also being bad for the narrative…well 🤐

Even though Reid and Matt are no longer in the show, s16 still heavily focused on Rossi, Elias, Tyler, Will and Bailey. I'm skeptical that things will change for the better regarding the female cast and Luke having more focus in s17

I was incredibly disappointed by CME, if I'm honest. For the first time in the show's history they had a 2:1 ratio of female cast members to male, AND YET THE ENTIRE THING FOCUSED ON MEN??

Like you said, it wasn't just Rossi either. They focused on the unsub, a suspect/victim(?), and the husband of a female lead instead of, idk, just letting the female characters exist within their own storylines 😩

Sex Lives of College Girls S2 Finale Thoughts

Just watched the finale of Sex Lives of College Girls. I'm glad we're getting a season 3 because the ending???

But I'm glad Bela is recognizing how badly she was acting. I was about to go find Mindy and literally be like "what on earth is happening to Bela's character in the House of Commons (writers room) right now?"

Also sooooo awkward with the drama they set up between Whitney and Kimberly!!!! I better see a talk between Jackson and Kimberly because Jackson imo at most deserves proper clarity.

And Whitney and Andrew should have actually just talked with each other? Like, not once did Whitney ever consider thinking about having a talk to find out why Andrew maybe was acting like that?

To end on a good note, LEIGHTON WAS EVERYTHING. She absolutely carried. Leighton really impressed me and I am so happy with the direction her character went in. The only thing I hope I don't have to see too much of is the discourse about Tatum and Alicia. I will admit it, I was one of the viewers rooting for Alicia and Leighton. I am of the opinion that you should be able to ship who you want, and if you liked Tatum and Leighton, you should be able to enjoy that too.

But please, let's not hate any of the actresses. And us wlws/sapphics have lost so much as it is already. Like I saw someone once say, we can be sad but we don't have to villainize any particular person.

I really love this show, but it's a shame when things I want to happen/root so badly for never actually get addressed. I'm all for some sprinkles of drama in a show every once in a while, but it does make some things hard. Lol. Just the life of a fandom consumer these days I guess. Hopefully plot/dynamics/arcs can be fleshed out more and we can get longer episodes- or more than 10 eps in one season.

And now we wait for S3 to hopefully give us that.

The thing is, Waititi set a standard of not giving a rats ass as far back as the making of Gagnarok aka Thor: Ragnarok: and promised to keep on in that same flavor after the studios and gen fans patted him on the back for it repeatedly. (yes, that's a link to a more collected list of examples straight out of his own mouth)

It massively helped that, instead of replacing problematic people on the MCC around the time Gangnarok was being put together (the MCC's entire purpose having been someone being responsible for upholding exactly that kind of continuity from one film/series to the next) was disbanded instead: allowing asshats of similar disposition like Herron and Waldron to enter the franchise; and spread it to the rest of the MCU (don't get me started on the Dr. Strange sequel Waldron also wrote that forgets every scene of and premise of the movie it was supposed to be a sequel to just as a start).

The studios, also took that as a green light for that kind of behavior and treatment; which has been getting progressively worse since.

Add in the audience/customer blaming, the ism accusations aimed at anyone who surprise of surprises also expected an entertainment company to actually prioritize good entertainment rather than politic pushing every production to capitalize on social trends; among other things.. and well. Yeah. Of course Disney as a whole is down the shitter, and taking the MCU with it since they took greater control back then.

Just sayin'.

one of marvel’s biggest issues is that writers/directors are just constantly writing ooc fanfic of each other’s work instead of using it as a foundation to continue a collaborative fictional universe off of. like. character development should matter. a character shouldn’t have a different personality in every single appearance. major plot points established by other installments shouldn’t be ignored. idk man.
