Hi! I hope your day is going well. I have recently found your work, with eyes like these, and I'm absolutely captivated. Thank you for bringing us this masterpiece! I'm also wondering, however, of the "tragedy" and "canonical character death" tags on the fic. I'm wondering what their implications are, and whether there will be a happy ending. Sooo, to sort-of answer your questions.

Well, one thing I don't mind revealing is that the ending of "with eyes like these", as in the fic proper, is going to be set in the current in-world year (1943), so the "canonical character death" tag doesn't apply to Tom or any of our time travelers ;) (and I say "fic proper" because I'm not including possible epilogues or "with friends like these", which is more liable to travel between decades).

In regards to "happy ending", you're not the first person to ask that. I wouldn't say it's happy, but I also wouldn't classify it as sad. I'm using "Tragedy" in a literary sense, not a colloquial sense.

I'm choosing to answer this publicly (although under a read more) because, well. I've generally acted coy about the ending of the story, but I feel a little less secretive now bc I think some people have already figured out where we're heading. And that makes me happy!

I hope this serves as a sort of answer while also not really being one!! :p
