The thing about Nathan Ford is that he is just so very mediocre.

Yeah he's smart or whatever, but despite Leverage really trying to push him as a leading man, he is just Some Guy. He is so startlingly average in every single way, partially due to Timothy Huttons 'Guy who just woke up' looks and partially because his top character traits are: alcoholic, kind of an asshole, divorced, and Plays Chess

He's the most Guy I've ever seen in my life. Truly just unremarkable. His name is Nathan for gods' sakes

What's worse, is that they're made in your likeness in real time; their production / manufacturing ages along with you,

Imagine you SEE these things being assaulted, used & abused in public; these clones take it all with a smile. Soulless, mindless... But as if that's not enough, then realizing that they may just have sentience. Or at least, they give off the impression they do. And on top of ALL that... they have chunks of your memories, your past; they're you, but at the same time, they aren't,

What do you do with that information? How do you treat them ( yourself? )? What's the end game?

i haven’t been able to read the book of bill yet but seeing everyone talking about it has brought back my bill cipher obsession from 2017 that i’d thought had died 4 years ago. So i’ve just been sitting here Brainrotting about what characters from my interests would make a deal with him

for dt. i think gingi would be stupid enough roger would be gullible enough and randy would be desperate enough to make a deal with him. but bill Would Not make a deal with them unless directly summoned/as a Very last resort. they lack any usefulness to him. but he would think gingi’s whole thing is very funny and cool

norm would try to shoot bill on sight (and fail, of course, bill being a being of pure energy, but the message is the same). karen would not give less of a shit, get outta here, i’m trying to paint a horse. oliver would think bill is RAD AS HELL and try to ask him out. i could see him taking a deal for that reason alone. this guy is gnarly why wouldn’t he wanna shake a triangle demon’s hand?!?!

as for like, Actual deals: mingus i see as more of a gideon-like situation, where the deal doesn’t include him possessing her (though it would be a good disguise for the eyes. BTW I actually started playing the Ssum again. Took me a full year break but I finally got over my losing 2 days of chats because of a bug lol. Which was good, it allowed me to not care as much about getting all the chats, so I wouldn't mind missing the morning's one (I set that shit way too early lol).

I finally finished Teo's route. He had his moments where he made me smile or stressing over his reckless ass (looking at you day 198-199 èé). I'd say he's a good route to take layed back since he's so... boring? Lol it sounds bad but he was actually my favourite. His route is entertaining but most of the time if you miss a few chats you don't miss anything important.

I started Harry's route now, I'll be on day 69, and he is funnier than Teo, MC was often rude to Teo and it would bother me since he's so sweet but with Harry I don't have to pull my punches if I wanna throw them haha. The confession day was awkward to say the least, but apart from that he has his sweet moments too. Though I really can't get over his beef with Teo for a character that doesn't seem to care about a lot of things. I used to think he had good intentions but was just lacking social skill to say what he wanted during MoM. Turns out he fully admitted to act like that for his amusement :/ he's so kind to us I forgive but ngl that cost him his place as favorite. I'll see what the rest of his route give me to work with.

I didn't play June's yet, I want to start it solo when I'll have no other routes going on.

Now, the reason I'm making this post, the new route, my new favorite after only 4 days, Henri. I don't know what about his writing made me lock on him so hard but he has my heart ! Lol

In only 4 days he got me smiling, giggling and kicking my feet like an idiot more than the 100s days of Teo and Harry combined (though tbf Harry still has ample room to surprise me) . Maybe it's the way he teases us, his sad mew mew side, his glasses (that he doesn't wear often enough! Come one cheritz his video call sprites SCREAM for their presences!), his beautiful darling blue eyes with white pupils, his voice. I wanna hug him, squish him, talk about him. I'm already sad we only have 14 days of him. He makes my heart flutter n.n

If I didn't want to finish Harry's route as soon as possible, I would've put it on stand by to just focus on Henri. I love him so much, I don't want to miss a single call or chat from him <3

Lyla didn't know what to say as she watched the little girl smiling over at her. She seemed so happy; but Lyla knew that wasn't always the case. Children were resilient. They would be the first to look on the bright side even if their entire world was falling apart. The fact that she was outside of her home in the chill evening air just to avoid her parents and their fights spoke volumes.

"How old is she?", Lyla asked as she turned back towards Barbara and followed her over towards the front steps of the trailer.

"Just turned nine this past August. Her mom, Brielle, got pregnant when she was fifteen, and Butch, the father, is a lot older than her. Her mother made her marry Butch because of the pregnancy so the baby wouldn't be a bastard. It's the worst kept secret in the world, and that poor girl has suffered because of it."

Lyla hated that she knew what that was like. Her own father had disappeared shortly after her mother got pregnant. Her mother never really explained why. She always said that having a family hadn't been a part of his plans, and she had accepted that. Still, it had left Lyla growing up wondering who her father was and what had happened to him. Did he even know that she existed? She may never know for certain, but she knew that the answers ate her away at night.

"My advice to you, child, is to keep to yourself. Southern hospitality is for people who deserve it and they don't. Butch does a lot of things he shouldn't, and he's constantly in and out of jail. And Brielle...well, she's been known to run off my tenants with her theatrics. Buy earplugs. You can still hear their screaming over here. "

Butch was quiet as Brielle continued to stare out the window. Having someone occupy that trailer was going to put a wrench in his plans, but there was nothing he could do about that. He would just have to look for a place elsewhere to move. He couldn't keep doing what he was doing with the landlord watching his every move, and he had to get away from Brielle. He couldn't stand living with her and her brat of a daughter for one more minute.

"How old is she?", he asked, curiously, as the gears began to move in his head.

"She looks young, but who knows. Pretty, I guess, but she's wearing the rattiest clothes I've ever seen. I thought we had it bad here."

Butch rolled his eyes as he reached into his pocket, searching for the blunt that he has stuffed inside of it earlier.

Maybe his plans weren't completely ruined after all, he thought, as he lit the blunt and moved it to his lips to take the first of many smokes that day.
