Headcanon assortment (pt. 3) Shorties editon

-Magolor is very conscious about his age and his looks. With that being said, please, DO NOT call him "old", he will get very much angry.

-Galacta's hair is just superb, wavy, voluminous and just perfect. Of course, touch it and you'll die.

-Zan's nose is pretty ugly. It wasn't like this before though, in one fight with Francisca, she punched Zan in the face and broke her nose.

-Is hard to make Taranza mad, he really has the patience of a saint, but if you manage to make him angry you fucked up big time.

-When in certain mood, Zero Two can and will fight nearly everything and has even attacked his own kind.

-After being liberated from Forgo's possession, Elfilin was really never the same again, and fell depressed for a while.

-Gooey (therefore Blob), like any other member of the Dark Matter race, reacts negatively when in contact with light based objects. Although not as drastic as the other members of the family.

-Instead of not being able to feel (positive) emotions, the Dark Matter community values stoicism and emotionless-ness above everything else. Showing excessive emotion is frowned upon. For them is usually easy, save from some exceptions.

-Magolor has a replica of the master crown and whenever he's feeling cheeky or if someone pisses him off, he threatens the person by putting the crown on.

-Shadow Kirby can use copy abilities but doesn't like to (more like he's too lazy to) so he sticks to a sword.

-Iron Mam is a waddle dee, she just wanted to be ridiculously strong.

-...And Bandana Dee is a huge fanboy of her.

-The souls that DO get a second chance of living, get a new body identical to the previous one but with the scars of their respective deaths previous to their rebirths and no post mortem memories.

-Francisca lost sensitivity in some parts of her body due to frostbite.

-Fairies are born from a huge flower. A flower basically appears on the royal garden, over the time it grows and grows until it blossoms. And there you go: A fairy.

-I said this in a separate post but Meta Knight listens to a lot of old spanish music (Camilo, Mecano, Mocedades, Serrat, Leo Dan, etc.) more or less what your mom, auntie or even grandma listened to.

-Dark Mind is pretty vain and is always checking on himself to look for any cracks around his body to erase.

-Meta Knight is actually extensively trained in hand-to-hand combat (like all GSA members) he just would rather use his sword because he feels he's not as good (nor strong) at it.

-Marx is the very definition of a jock, he's very athletic and strong too. From all the sports he plays, he seems to excel at gymnastics.

-Another odd friendship that came to light during Star Allies was between Flamberge and Taranza. Their personalities are widely different but they still manage to get along nicely.

-Void Termina has a very wide vocal range, maybe not in his voice (which is low and booming) but the noises he makes, from growling like a bear to sound like a shoebill stork or chirping like a bird.

-In Dreamland there are three kingdoms: The Cave Kingdom, Dreamland Kingdom and the Heaven kingdom.

5. satosugu adopt kids (yikes) (jujutsu kaisen) - i feel like every jjk writer has one little self indulgent family fic squirrelled away and here’s mine: firstly i’ve deleted everything to do with curses because they pose too much potential for angsty and also because i can’t write action scenes whdjdj! secondly, gojo steals (legally) megumi (no tsumiki in this au because i’m afraid of how to write her), while getou saves the girls from a bad situation. mostly it’s just daily dramatic domestic shenanigans with some kids :D

megumi is sprawled on the floor by the table, one of his two dogs is most definitely in the corner eating his homework, for the third time that week; this time, suguru decides, he will not help the boy try to fix it in a panic before the deadline. satoru should have been a responsible parent and prevented it from happening. the other dog is unsurprisingly, being used as an oversized cushion.”

6. temple au (jujutsu kaisen) - one of my three endgame itafushikugi wips! nobara and megumi help yuuji revive the cult of sukuna after sukuna accidentally messes up and reincarnates into yuuji, nobara realises she has ancestral blood in the cult and megumi stumbles upon the temple while avoiding his own clan issues. it’s a super fun, supernatural au which is more silly than serious tbh.

as though to prove that just sometimes, he was some god’s favourite, their destination comes into sight. amongst the wane light of a waxing moon, the structure stood hulking and proud. it was eerie, with the way the wood gleamed as though newly polished, the shine carmine of the tiled roof. the silence of it. buildings this grand, this intricate, should creak in their foundations, the windows should rattle in their frames, the walls should groan under their load.

they come to a natural stop. nobara somehow manages to rock on her heels despite the uneven mud.

15. watermelon sugar type beat (jujutsu kaisen) - another of the three itafushikugi wips! set semi-canon this time, it’s just a silly one shot (?) spawned from my own hcs for the trio, where they go to sendai and do silly teenage things in yuuji’s hometown! i also wanted to try and write the visiting the grave scene a la chainsaw man. no expert sorry because the state of this wip is best left for my own eyes jsjdjjd (it’s a mess OTL)

19. take a deep breath, take a deep breath, take a deep breath- (genshin impact) - zhongli loosing his gnosis isn’t as straightforward as he explained (or expected) and through plot armour magic shenanigans, our favourite liyue teens have been de-aged at his behest. it’s blatantly an excuse for me to have zhongli play house and maybe if i’m up for it explore his loneliness and detachment for his people and humanity as a whole. anyway, as they saying goes: “from the mouths of babes” for the wisest of introspections.

“zhongli holds hu tao upside down by her ankle. now this would be quite feat perhaps, if he wasn’t a millennia old god and the girl in question had been her normal size. unfortunately, as he listens to her squealing laughter and forces his grip a tad tighter as she shakes in his grasp, hu tao was very much not her normal size.

there are other issues, of course. there’s the fatui mages unconscious on the ground, the remnant sparking of electro over the dark lake of wuwang hill, the other not quite normal sized people clustered around his leg.

spirited away! -

firstly nonny you’re totally right! i love spirited away and it’s probably one of (if not my number one) favourite movies of all time! funnily enough, despite loving ghibli movies and content, i’ve never thought to or attempted to write a ghibli based fanfic - spirited away included! i feel like most of the time when i write fics it’s because there’s something else from canon my mind wants to run away with and see. however, in the case of spirited away, i don’t think there is? the film and story are so well made and self contained i am want for literally nothing jsjdjd. i could (do) just watch it again and again and enjoy the way things play out. same could be said for other films like howl’s moving castle and kiki’s delivery service, which feature heavily in my other social media accounts (and make up far too much of my personality). but it’s not just ghibli that gives me this vibe funnily enough, some anime/manga i consume also feel complete enough that i’m happy to just leave them be fic free (the shock and horror of it)... others however, i have a personal vendetta to bend to my emotion driven will OTL...

Volstovic Cycle OCs ctd.- Adamo spouses

As mentioned here, it is mine and @toaslanscountry‘s hc that adamo and laure have 9 kids, with their 9 kids come a combined total of 11 people commonly known as “the spouses” aka the people the kids are married to. And without further adieu here they all are below the cut because its looooooooooooooong

1. Rory’s wife Emmeline- Emmeline was originally only known as “neighbor girl” because Emmeline lived a ways up the road from the Greylace Estate. Not within spitting distance, but close enough that they’re houses could be seen from the windows of the other. Emmeline’s parents were semi-rich snobs who were obsessed with propriety and raising Emmeline up to be the perfect wife for a noble, to the point that they would use violence to abuse her into submission. Unfortunately for them, Emmeline is a giant repressed lesbian and she happened to live down the road from Rory, an openly gay butch woman who spent years being run off by nobles whose precious daughters she was caught fingering. Emmeline and Rory hid their relationship for years, but eventually were caught by Emmeline’s parents. Em was locked in her room like Rapunzel in a tower until she could be married off,  but Em managed to sneak out and run to the Greylace estate where she and Rory begged Rook, Rory’s godfather to marry them before her parents found out she was gone

2. Jean’s wife Nina- Nina is a sex worker in Molly with a toddler daughter who for a time was left in the care of the children’s home Jean ran in Mollyedge because Nina was too poor to care for her. Eventually however, Nina saved up enough money to get her daughter back and it was then that she met Jean. Jean thought she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, and gave zero fucks about the fact that she was a sex worker. They eventually married and Jean legally adopted Nina’s daughter the same day.

3. Ivy’s “””wife””” friend with benefits Sophie- as mentioned in the previous post, Ivy is aromantic, but he has a long-term sexual relationship with his best friend Sophie, another sex worker and the godmother of Nina’s daughter. They met through Nina and Jean’s relationship and Ivy first began seeing her as a client not long after. Eventually they became good friends, then roommates, and eventually they married legally for technicalities only. That way they wouldn’t be separated by life in Mollyedge and Sophie could have the financial benefits of being married to Ivy. They never become romanitc. Ever. The end.

4. Vera’s wife- Vera met her wife while giving aid in a warzone. Her wife was a refugee who knew no Volstovic, and Vera didn’t know any of her language either. Vera ended up saving this mysterious woman from gross misconduct on behalf of some Volstovic soldiers, and decided to personally guard her until further notice. Despite the language barrier the two had obvious chemistry and grew very close. Eventually, when the area became particularly dangerous again, Vera married the woman she was already beginning to fall for in order to give her safe passage as an immigrant into Volstov away from the fighting. 

5. Natalia’s husband- Natalia and the Prince of Volstov grew close out of pure accident. He was autistic, though at the time, the word “autism” wasn’t in fashion, and he was panicking and overstimulated in the midst of a royal ball. Natalia stumbled upon him and having grown up around PTSD ridden veterans mistook his anxiety attack to some sort of post traumatic episode, so she sat down and calmed him with basic kindness and understanding. He had never experienced such a kindness and became quite attached. They fell in love, and courted for some time, before he proposed. Natalia initially rejected the offer out of fear of ruining the prince’s reputation with her skin color, but was heartbroken and changed her mind not a half hour later

6. Niall’s husband- Niall specialized in capturing unusual bodies in art, only accepting models with scars, disfigurement or obesity. He was tired of drawing porcelain, flawless, mannequins, but he’d never been so enamored with anyone than when he was sent to fetch a sack of coffee from the general store a block aways from Luvanders shop. The store was family owned, and the cashier run by a shop boy, who measured up at 6′10″ and hundred and hundreds of pounds. He was gorgeous but he thought he was repulsive and Niall made him feel otherwise.

7. Lauren’s 1st husband Lindsey- Lindsey was a thief living out of the remains of a long burned church in Mollyedge. One day as he ran from the cops with loot, he accidentally slammed a girl with crutches, Lauren, to the ground. Her brother Jean who was walking with her, enraged by the disrespect given to his obviously disabled sister, chased him down and caught him. Upon realizing that Lindsey was on the run from the Wolves and likely a punishment that outweighed the crime, Jean gave him a place in the children’s home seeing as Lindsey was only 16 at the time. Lauren visited him every day, and soon became his most trusted companion. She became the first person to know that he’d been born a girl, and his first love.

8. Lauren’s 2nd husband Viktor- Years after Lauren and Lindsey met, Lindsey had been preparing to propose to Lauren when a tall dark and handsome man named Viktor dropped into her lap. He was a bastard of a noble white father and a black indentured servant mother, disowned for the shame he brought to them and forbidden to see his mother, he was heartbroken when Lauren offered him a place to stay. Lauren was polyamorous and Viktor had nothing to lose, so he Lauren and Lindsey formed a triad relationship, despite the uneasy start he and Lindsey initially began with. He was Lindsey’s best man when Lauren and Lindsey said their “I Do’s”

9. Lauren’s wife Zaaira- One day Viktor came home one day to find that Lauren and Lindsey were both pregnant and the babies were both his. It was pure accident and luck, but there was no denying it. Lindsey adamantly refused to go to the doctor, even when he started spotting. Given this predicament, the news of Lindsey’s pregnancy reached Karakhum, carried by Malahide, Ana’s mentor of a sort. Kalim remembered his friend Mollyrat Rook, and eagerly sent his tribe’s best midwife, a woman named Zaaira, to help knowing that she would be sensitive to Lindsey’s unique situation of being a trans man having a baby. She as sweet and full of light, and by the time the babies were ready to come into the world, Lindsey, Lauren, and Viktor couldn’t imagine life without her.

10. Mags’s husband, Cpt. North Thorne- North Thorne came to Ghislain’s ship as a runaway youth, only 6 or 7 and already wanted for capital murder. He had been sold to a mob as payment for his father’s gambling debt, and he killed those who kept him captive. Ghislain sheltered him and raised him up to be his First Mate. After Ghislain died after a mortal injury in a raid on a trading schooner, North inherited his ship, Chastity’s Revenge. In his time as a youth on a pirate ship, North had seen Ghislain’s infamous godson, Mags Adamo, in passing, and when he met Mags again after Ghislain died, North was disgusted to see that Mags had become a Naval captain and a spymaster at that, in effect betraying his godfather’s memory. North seduced Mags with the intent of interrogating him or taking him captive, but Mags explained with a knife to his throat that it was a misunderstanding, that Ghislain had known about his role as a spy and approved. North let him go, and the two began a cat and mouse game of rivaling fuckbuddies before it grew into much much more

11. Ana’s husband- Ana wasn’t necessarily held back from dating because she was trans, but she was cautious nonetheless. Her intimate escapades were primarily limited to casual hookups and short flings, until she was in her late 30s, early 40s and Inglory’s airwoman in the 3rd Wave. Her husband was a goofy fellow airman, who rode a dragon of Natalia’s creation. They began as best friends and suddenly, when he saw her dressed for a ball in a sparkly blue dress meant to look like the night sky, he realized he wanted to be more than friends. He already knew she was trans and was completely supportive, so she was able to trust him full stop and if nothing else, she liked that for once there was a man in her life who was taller than her and who liked her family as much as she did. Though Laure and Adamo had both passed on by the time they married, they said their vows in front of the statues of all the Airmen who prededed them, so Laure and Adamo were truly there to see their last daughter wed after all

team guardian OOC rules and app.

confession: i was inspired to make this blog specifically for @team-guardian, but then i realized: well as long as i’m making a near, i might as well take my first step into the death note fandom too. since the guardian AU is starting just about right now, i should get this up ASAP.

the only ooc rule i have for you all in the guardian AU is that all guardian AU group members are automatically canons, whether from death note or pokémon or any other series. currently the only death note canon character here other than mine is @notlindltailor / @shapeofanl, who is currently canon L for this verse. (they’re also current canon watari, assuming no watari comes in.) the below headcanons involving L were developed with shapeofanl in mind. 

if you want to interact with near in the pokémon world, he will have another pokéverse that i’ll put up as soon as i have time. this is especially if you play a canon pokémon character and want to interact, but do not want to join the AU. if so, i strongly prefer that you interact with his other pokéverse. anyone playing your same canon could apply to the guardian AU, at which point i might have to retcon everything we just RPed in order to comply with the affiliated version of your character. thanks for understanding <3

character name: nathanaeL LowLight also known as: L (alias - he and his adoptive father share it), Near (when working apart from the L identity for strategic purposes). multiple other aliases, nate (nickname by those who know his real name), nathanael “nate” river (birth name) age: 17 series: death note supports team guardian? no--is actually one of the main people working against it. team: metagross, serperior, azumarill, palossand, pidgeot, sableye. may also use: drampa, tyranitar, alolan ninetales, volcarona. abilities: near is a gifted psychic who has a strong connection with pokémon. like other psychic humans in my headcanon, he can use (in theory) all psychic-type moves that are not legendary-only, though some will come more easily to him than others. currently, the moves he knows best are psychic (duh), hypnosis, calm mind, teleport, future sight, miracle eye and reflect. moves he is having some trouble with include gravity, mirror coat, light screen, trick room, psyshock and psychic terrain. he also has a psychium z that he can use to create z-moves such as shattered psyche.

since i hc all psychics as naturally occurring vessels of deities (though too weak to really be divine without serious training) and that i also hc their specific strengths are related to the deity they’re the vessel of, it makes most sense for near to be a vessel of Uxie. this means that his psychic Affinity (yes, with a capital A) is geared toward the gathering and sharing of knowledge rather than fighting. this makes him good at mind reading, retrocognition, precognition and psychic empathy. he’s not as strong with manipulating psychic energy to attack or to influence his environment, nor is he that good with manipulating peoples’ thoughts; he’s also not so great at illusions, though he’s made more progress in this field than in the others. in addition, since he has a strong mental bond with his metagross, he’s started to develop the ability of clear body (though not fully at the moment, so he can still suffer a cut to his abilities--just not as easily).

personality: he understands the world and the people in it in theory, and his theories are nothing short of brilliant. he’s straightforward and honest, with a built-in bullshit detector and a fairly strong sense of morals, tempered just so with a refreshing sense of humility. though he’s aloof and terrible at socializing, once you talk to him his values and principles are surprisingly agreeable. he likes working in his own space, but is not above asking for help; if compelled to join a team, he may not have social synergy with them but he will always treat them with respect.

however, given his upbringing and his natural traumatized & autistic tendencies to isolate himself, it’s not surprising that he has a somewhat skewed view of how the world works. he’s solved cases and countless mind puzzles with minimal or no fighting, and that’s how he hopes to deal with team guardian, but the sheer force of the organization will make that impossible. despite surrounding himself with tough-looking pokémon, near loathes violence and loathes death even more--he will not willingly cast his partners into a battling system that causes dozens if not hundreds of pokémon deaths each year. instead, he likes powerful pokémon out of a sense of safety and friendship. 

he tends to go for older and more intelligent pokémon (which just so happen to be more powerful bc duh) because they’re the ones whose mental patterns interest him when he reads them. in almost every case he won the right to travel with them not by fighting, but by games of wisdom and mental resilience through which he could prove himself worthy of their companionship and protection. (the exceptions are azumarill, who rescued him, pidgeot, whom he caught as a pidgey bc azumarill was lonely, and metagross, whom he received from the government as a beldum when he started working on cases.) he will do anything to put off actually fighting, as his pokémon are either half-wild companions (who have a lot of fighting experience, just not with a trainer) or artists (he has a youtube channel where he designs pretty things with his pokémon). and that, in the end, might end up fucking him over.

this boy, according to his own father, was not supposed to exist.

the son of L’s sister, Lindsay Lowlight and her lover, rising entrepreneur Rameses River, nathanael lowlight--born as Nathanael River--was a result of a petty deception. lindsay had trusted rameses and slept with him not knowing he was married. she’d announced to him overjoyed when nate was conceived, but was horrified to learn the reason why rameses in distress over this instead of happy. he demanded she get an abortion. she refused.

when nathanael was born, rameses wasn’t having any of it. he faked being a good father, he wanted to get rid of the offending child in any way possible. this was not only because he didn’t want the trouble nate would bring to him, but also because nate was a prodigiously clever psychic--and he feared that one day the young ESP-er might read his mind and discover he’d cheated (not to mention also discover all the shitty things he’d done to keep his business afloat). from the moment nate was born--and from the moment when nate learned how to talk, read and write in multiple languages via mind-reading at 3 months--he knew he  had to put a stop to this for good. of course, because i’m writing this and everything i write Could Cut A Cake With The Edge™, this meant stopping the little boy’s heart.

he saw the opportunity when the family was vacationing in unova’s White Forest. a few days into their stay at a riverside resort, rameses requested some alone time with the then-five-year-old child; lindsay was delighted that he was finally being the dad she’d wished him to be from the start. however, she was completely blindsided. rameses’ plan was to drown near in the river himself, claim to his lover that the boy was swept away, and next time be more careful to use a condom. accompanied by a malamar that he’d purchased years before (its dark typing and natural manipulative ability shielded his criminal thoughts from nate’s prying mind), they went down to the water to play. hiding his intentions in games and gentle teasing, rameses coaxed his illegitimate son further away from the resort, away from all prying eyes and minds--then seized him and held his head beneath the surface, pinching the nose shut and clamping the palm of the other hand around his mouth. poor nate tried to use his psychic powers to break free. but with such a strong dark-type presence and in such a state of panic, his struggles were fruitless.

he could have had his malamar do it, and do it much more quickly. but rameses was a man who loved visceral gratification--he had to do it himself, get rid of the burden with his own hands, and bury all the rage he’d had with nate in the most savagely satisfying way possible.

of course, rameses did not succeed; otherwise, there would be no story. an azumarill was swimming nearby when she noticed the scene, and even though her level was drastically lower than that of the malamar, she was able to protect him with wits rather than strength. as rameses raged on, she invisibly used an aqua tail to make a wave that swept him away; underwater, she created an aqua ring around his head to allow him to breathe. she swept him downstream face down but secretly protected beneath the surface with this method. rameses, satisfied with this illusion of nate’s death, called malamar back to its poké ball (inadvertently stopping it from detecting that nate was still alive) and went back to the resort. lindsay would have believed him if not for a sharp bite that her son had left on his hand, which looked very much like it had come from a child about nate’s size. coincidentally, a few days after she questioned the bite, she was left braindead in the hospital after a car accident (brought on by a future sight attack from rameses’ dusknoir).

azumarill, at the very least, was doing well. she traveled until she found the next human settlement--which so happened to be the white forest home of a gentleman named Quillish Wammy (otherwise known as Watari), a large house with a beautiful view of the river and surrounding forest. she used uproar to capture the inhabitants’ attention and draw him to the terrified nate, who at this point was still barely able to process what had happened to him due to sheer shock and fear. watari, of course, was on his feet as soon as the distress signal , hobbling down to the water’s edge as fast as his old bones could carry him. out in front of him was the man who would shape the entire course of near’s life, the enigma named L.

when nate first met him, he had no idea just how privileged he was to see the man in person. countless top-ranking criminals from around the world had lied and butchered to get a glimpse of L before ultimately failing in death, yet here he was, a boy no more than 5 years old, face-to-face with the world’s greatest detective. though L was never that great with children, he took a liking to nate, as both of them saw many things in common with each other. most importantly, nate was fascinated with L’s intellect, and L could respect nate’s, which was something he could rarely say of other children. he also had an azumarill who doted on him and playmates, Mail and Mihael, with similar level of intelligence and similar traumatic pasts, whereas before making friends was quite hard. what’s more, his status as L’s nephew really brought him and his uncle together. well into lindsay’s ninth year of life support, they made the heartbreaking decision to pull the plug. nathanael was the only blood family L had left. 

their relationship, though a close one, was not without its strains. for one thing, L hated the entire idea of psychics, since he hated the fact that there were other humans who might be able to access his head. nate was an insatiably curious and prodigiously powerful psychic, who was always trying to get inside L’s head, treating his privacy like a game. L, to some extent, is a “by any means necessary” sort of person. while young nate was no saint, he had a more strongly developed moral compass accompanied by a childish streak of self-righteousness (which went away when he was older--though he continues to be skeptical of L’s methods). most of all, nate wanted to be a detective just like L, which watari encouraged but which L himself only reluctantly allowed. 

it wasn’t as though anyone could do much to stop him when he went on his pokémon journey. while other trainers went from gym to gym, nate hopped from case to case, building a reputation as a prodigy named Near. some people, of course, didn’t take him seriously, or had reservations about involving a child in criminal investigations no matter how smart he was. but he learned to use his age to his advantage--what crime organization could possibly have guessed that a preteen could crack their case?

TEAM GUARDIAN, however, would soon prove to be something else. after spending many of his angsty teen years afield pursuing leads with the help of his psychic abilities, nate was now willing to consistently work alongside L because being on the road had given him some perspective. safe to say, after several years of tension, this new and greater threat brought them together as adoptive father and son. however, the danger involved far exceeds any benefit: this is not the first case nate has solved, but it may be his last.
