Pencil drawing, approx 135mm x 107mm.
The Great Stone Chute, Sgurr Alasdair, Isle of Skye, Scotland.
It gives me chills looking at our photos taken of the Black Cuillin mountain range. A lug on the sole of P's walking boots was cleanly sheared off when he 'stone-surfed' his way down the Great Stone Chute.

Lawrence’s place by images@twiston Elgol - Lawrence Cornell’s spiritual home. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear that Lawrence passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly, just a few days ago. Lawrence was a well respected, engaging and inspirational member of our Flickr community and will be dearly missed by many. Although I never actually met Lawrence in person, I didn’t need to; his charismatic images spoke so well of his narrative, his love of photography and the locations he frequently visited. The banter we had between us, him frequently encouraging me to take ‘proper’ moody landscape images and me encouraging him to look to his more ‘reflective’ side, I valued immensely. His passion for landscape photography was so evident in his images of Elgol, a location that was so dear to his heart and where his emotions spoke loudest. I can’t think of a better tribute than an image of his beloved Elgol, with the iconic view looking towards the Cuillin across Loch Scavaig. An image that I took on my last visit to Skye, a location I persevered with having seen Lawrence’s emotive images over so many years. Lawrence\'s photostream can be found here: lawrencecornellphotography So long Lawrence, you will be missed. Thoughts and prayers with your family and close friends at this terribly sad time. The Old Sligachan Bridge, located on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, is a historic structure built between 1810 and 1818 by engineer Thomas Telford. This three-arched stone bridge, with its distinctive humpback design, was originally part of the main route through Skye. In the 20th century, it was replaced by a modern bridge on the A87.
Situated near the Cuillin mountains, the bridge offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, making it a popular spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts. The area is also steeped in local legend; it’s said that the waters beneath the bridge possess magical properties. According to folklore, submerging one’s face in the river for seven seconds and allowing it to air dry grants eternal beauty, a tale that adds a mystical allure to the site.

Sligachan bridge and the Cuillin in winter
This classic angle of the Black Cuillin over the old bridge at Sligachan appears in many guide books and calendars. The shot is taken from the modern A87 road bridge over the River Sligachan.

Here's a question for Worldbuilding Wednesday! Are there particular words in your conlang/s that have heavy meanings (i.e. is used because the context they carry is appropriate for the person/situation)?
AAHHHHH CONLANG TIME! Yes, I have a few that come to mind:
Emuri
This Telethenian word doesn't have a good one-to-one translation in English, but it means something like "victorious victim." In Telethens, every citizen has a sash that tells their life story and marks their personhood. However, some crimes are punishable by seizing their sash -- usually crimes that would remove or diminish another person's personhood (like murder or long time kidnapping or raising your child without human contact or sexual assault). If you were to be convicted of one of these crimes in a court of law, your sash would be given to your victim -- your Emuri. As you are no long a person, they can do whatever they want to you now and the law does not technically care (though the community and the Emuri's reputation must be considered). That is what it means to be Emuri.
Fitte Thuille, Abso'eun.
This is the Nouveau Thuillean national salute. "For Thuille, the world." It means you will do anything for your House and your nation. Anything. Anything. The culture is cutthroat and cruel.
T'yar
This is the Demonic word for Debt. This is what the Princess of Demons has to say about the Debt:
"Contrary to the human understanding of us as sadists and hedonists, Demons hold one tenant above all else: Freedom. And this is the true source of the T’yar — the Debt. Humans say we count every grace and every slight so we can manipulate them into doing our bidding. As if we could not do that with Bloodmagic! No, we remember our Debts so we can pay them back. And only then can we truly be free.
In this, there is no T’yar greater than that owed to one’s family."
Saegari
There once was a great Sageking
And for him, the Dragon's sing
Pulled a sword out from a stone
To reclaim his Dragon Throne
So goes the 400 year old epic, the Saegari -- the Saegen word for "Sage King." Considering that this is the title of one of our protagonists, Riavh, it's a central word to the story: What does it MEAN to be the Saegari? How was he a hero?
In world, it carries the same sort of weight as names like "King Arthur" or "Caesar". I wrote the lyrics of the song to the tune of Lughnasad by Faun but someday, I'd love to write them to an original melody!
In a rainstorm, at Cuilline
Jealous traitor and the King
To the death, the two would fight
Plunge the Empire into night
His Queen wept tears at his side
How could this good King have died?
When the Old Thuille's bells of doom ring
Returns the Once and Future King
O Long Reign the Saegari
He was fair as fair can be
He will come to rise again
And the world will know his name

The jagged Black Cuillin mountain range on the Isle of Skye looking hazy and blue as the sun was setting.
An analogue photo from a camping trip. There's something atmospheric about the fuzziness of pre-digital cameras that I really like.
