Things have gotten worse since you last spoke.
Each day begins with the jarring sound of his motorcycle revving right outside your window, shattering the tranquility of the morning. The noise reverberates through your whole apartment, making it impossible to ignore. And to make matters worse, he started blasting the worst rap music you’ve ever heard from a portable speaker while he works on his bike on Saturday afternoons. The cacophony of noise fills the air, making it impossible to concentrate or find any semblance of peace within your own home.
Even though you’ve been trying to avoid him, checking outside your window a few too many times before leaving so you don’t run into him, he’s still been plaguing your mind. You had caught him like a cold or the flu, and now you’re praying that you’ll one day be immune. Sleeping was practically impossible, even the strongest earplugs and the loudest white noise couldn’t block out the sound of his, frankly, stupid fucking bike. You go to work irritable and exhausted, having to hype yourself up in the bathroom before clocking in. You dread going home, begging your manager to let you work late, trying to find every excuse to hang back and avoid your inevitable negative interaction with Megumi.
After days of sleepless nights and endless worry, you had finally reached your breaking point. With a heavy heart, you had mustered up the courage to do something you'd been dreading — ask a friend for a favor. With trembling hands, you dialed your friend Yuji’s number, hoping that he would understand. To your immense relief, he listened patiently and without judgment. You poured out your heart, sharing the sleepless nights and the constant fear that had become your reality.
To your surprise, Yuji didn't hesitate, offering you a place to stay for the days Megumi would wake up early to head to work, a sanctuary where you could finally rest and recharge. You accepted his offer, overwhelmed with gratitude, knowing it would give you the solace you desperately needed. The nights before Megumi's shifts became a routine. You would gather your belongings and head to Yuji's place, seeking refuge from the darkness that seemed to engulf your apartment.
Each night, you would lie awake in your friend's spare bedroom, listening to the sounds of the outside world. The gentle hum of traffic, the distant laughter of passersby — these were the sounds of a life that seemed so far removed from your own. Part of you loved your time spent away from Megumi. Part of you didn’t. Even though he was annoying, stuck up, and frankly a bitch, he was so pretty to look at. You couldn’t help yourself sometimes, sneakily taking glances at him through your window while he worked on his bike, shirtless and sweating under the Japanese summer sun.
You felt guilty in a way. He hated you, yet you didn’t hate him. Why are you hanging on so tight? You wanted to hate him so badly, especially while you were laying propped up on your bed, had between your soft thighs as you thrust two fingers in and out of your cunt. You couldn’t help yourself, biting your duvet cover to keep yourself from moaning his name too loudly while you came, hips bucking into your hand while you imagined the ways he would talk you through it. You couldn’t help but imagine how handsome he would look with you all over his mouth, grinning at you as you beg to cum. Would he let you? Sometimes you would get carried away, sliding your fingers over your clit to draw out another orgasm, one that would leave you silent curled in a ball on your bed. Megumi seemed like the type to overstimulate you just for fun, after all. He clouded your mind, engulfing you with visions of him encased in smoke. He was beautiful, finite, a shining white light you had a hard time looking at. You were, quite frankly, down bad.
Suffer does the wolf, crawling to thee.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧
On the other side of the plaster wall, Megumi was having a similar experience. He couldn’t stop thinking about you, hoping if he revved his engine loud enough in the mornings you would come outside, all cute and grumpy with bedhead, yelling at him to quiet down. Maybe you would only be wearing a T-shirt too. He wondered what panties you would be wearing. Cotton? Lace? None at all?
He noticed your glances while he was working on his bike. After all, he did it shirtless hoping you would stare. All he wants is your attention, and can you blame him? You’re so soft and pretty, and all he wants to do is scoop you up and kiss you before bending you over his desk, his hand gripping your hair at the root as he fucks you dumb. He thinks about what you would sound like while he fucks you as he jerks off, one hand playing with his balls while the other strokes his cock up and down, teasing the tip with his fingers. He wonders what you would look like on your knees next to his bed, his cock draped across your face as you suck on his balls. He moans quietly when he cums, the liquid splattering onto his chest and abs and he wishes you were around to lick it up. Maybe after he would tug on your hair and have you thank him.
Megumi noticed a lot of things. He couldn't help but notice certain the frequent absences from your usual routine. With each passing day, Megumi's curiosity grew, and he started to pay closer attention to your whereabouts. That’s when he saw it, a dark blue car consistently parked at the entrance of the alleyway leading to your apartment building, the one you would climb in and out of on the days you were gone, the days you were away from him. Of course he took a note of the car, writing down the make and the model and the license plate, just in case.
Something else Megumi started noticing was your moans. You got braver and louder each time, and soon he noticed the way you would gasp and whimper and the little noise you made before you came. Megumi soon started feeling something he hadn’t felt in a while, jealousy. You had a boyfriend or a fuck-buddy, and whoever they are was able to make you cum. That part irritated him, he wanted to be the only one that could make you cum and shake on his cock or his tongue. The semantics of your relationship didn’t matter to him, but you were with someone who wasn’t him. So he waited for you to return, leaning against the railing of his small porch. He knew your schedule now, and you should be home any second.
As the car pulls up, its headlights shine directly onto him, causing Megumi to avert his eyes. He watches as you step out of the car, bidding the driver, whom he can see now is a guy, farewell before making your way toward your door. The gravel crunched as the car reversed and smoothly drove away, leaving you and him standing alone in the tranquil evening. With a nimble hop, he crossed the railing and approached you, a faint smile playing across his lips. The world seemed to pause for a moment, as if time itself stood still, as you locked eyes with each other.
“Hey.” He says, climbing up onto your porch, swinging his legs over the barrier, and landing on his feet.
You don’t look up as you search for your keys. “You could’ve used the stairs.”
He grins. “Maybe I wanted to impress you.” The comment makes your cheeks warm, but you don’t reply as you continue to search through your seemingly endless tote bag. He sighs, “Listen, I have a question.”
You look up at him, and gods he is so pretty. You feel your blush deepen, trying not to gawk at the way his shoulders and arms look in that fucking black compression shirt. “Ask away.”
He crosses his arms over his chest. “So, you got a boyfriend?”
Your eyebrows furrow. “No. Why?” You finally find your keys, pulling them out as they jingle loudly from all of your keychains.
Megumi scoffs, keeping his arms crossed. “Come on. I’m not an idiot. I hear you moaning through the wall, you know.”
Your stomach lurches, your throat constricting. “Tha-that doesn’t mean anything.”
Megumi laughs, letting his arms drop to his side. “What about that guy that drives you everywhere?”
You put your key into the lock, swallowing hard. “He’s just my friend. I’ve been staying at his place recently-”
Megumi suddenly reaches out and grabs your hand, pulling the key out. “Don’t walk away. We’re having a conversation.” You gulp, holding onto your keys. He was right, that was kind of rude. “Continue.”
You take a shaky breath, unable to look him in the eyes, your gaze flicking around from the ground to the sunset behind him. “He’s just my friend. Nothing more.”
“Why aren’t you looking at me?” Megumi asks, trying to get in your line of sight. “Don’t look over there. Look at me.” You nod, looking at him, muttering an apology. Megumi smirks. “Good girl.”
Your throat dries up. This man is driving you crazy, and you can feel your thighs getting slick under your skirt. You subconsciously squeeze them together. “He-he isn’t my boyfriend. He’s just my friend.”
Megumi nods. “But you sleep together, right?”
“No.”
Megumi hums in response, getting closer to you. You instinctively back up until you hit the other railing. He towers over you, and you’re greeted with the smell of his cologne and shampoo as he smirks down at you. “Then what has you moaning so prettily, hmm? Is there another guy in your life?”
You shake your head. “N-no, I’m doing it, you know…solo.”
Megumi’s shoulders drop in relief. You don’t have anyone else. Does that mean he can have you all to himself? “What do you think about? When you touch yourself?” His voice is deep and smooth, right in your ear, causing your knees to buckle.
You gulp. “Nothing in particular.” He smirks. He doesn’t believe you. He reaches out to brush some hair out of your face but you move away, clutching your keys in your hands. He tries again, reaching for your arm this time, but you move away again.
You feel weird. He’s making an advance, one you aren’t opposed to, but you can’t seem to let your guard down and let him approach you. You sweat, shakily putting your key into the lock. You wanted to turn around, to throw your arms around him and let him take control of you, but you felt the familiar feeling of dread eating at your insides, sliding up your throat like bile. This almost felt too good to be true. You had spent weeks wishing for this exact moment, but now that it’s unraveling in front of you it’s hard to believe it’s happening and isn’t some sick, twisted joke. Had you stretched your self-worth too thin? Were you foolish for thinking Megumi would actually want you?
Megumi says your name so softly you almost didn’t hear it, concern etched on his face and laced in his voice. You ignore him, quickly unlocking your door and sliding inside your apartment, shutting the door in his face.
Megumi stands there, both confused and concerned. Had he come on too strong? Did he waste his one and only chance by scaring you? He reaches out to knock on your door before hesitating. He wanted a second chance, an opportunity to tell you that he didn’t mean it, that he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable or scared, but he couldn’t bring himself to press his knuckles onto the wood. He drops his hand and walks away, back to his apartment, feeling like he just ruined everything he could’ve had with you.

a/n: trying to keep to frequent posts, especially because of that cliffhanger! Also keep in mind that I am 10000% making up 1) police procedure and 2) anything to do with journalism. I know nothing about these things other than what I've seen in movies. But who cares, it's fiction!

She gasped.
And every head–four of them, all men–turned to look at her.
Instincts kicked in and y/n immediately shoved her phone into her pocket so as not to lose it and turned to flee.
Only to smack into something a lot like a brick wall.
She stumbled back, fear kicking her heart into high gear. She hadn’t even run yet and her breaths were quick, panicked. She was almost literally stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Before her was a towering figure cloaked in shadows and some sort of armor. He was menacing, dark, huge. Her throat went dry as he took a single, heavy step forward. Half of his face was covered by a mask that made her think of a black skull with two sharp points at the top. She didn’t notice the split second of shock on his face when he first laid eyes on her.
The Batman.
It shamed her to admit that she whimpered. Her body was in the thick of fight or flight, but there were men with guns behind her and a demon of a man before her. She had nowhere to flee. Despite what the waitress had told her not ten minutes earlier, she was afraid.
But Batman stepped to the side, his focus now on the men behind her, and said in a voice made of gravel and smoke, “Run.”
Y/n ran.
She ran until her lungs threatened to burst, until her knees wanted to give out, until all of her muscles were screaming, until her chocolate chip pancakes threatened to come back up. She took several turns and doubled back to make sure she hadn’t been followed.
Then she stumbled inside the blessedly safe lobby of Wayne Tower.
The security guard looked up in alarm.
“Call the police,” she gasped. “Tell them–” She bent over, hands on her knees, and tried to get her racing heart under control. “–Tell them I witnessed a murder.” She glanced back at the doors. “Lock everything up. I’ll be upstairs.”
The guard called after her–a young guy she didn’t recognize, someone who must be new from the past three years–but she ignored him. She heard the dial tone of the lobby phone as the elevator doors slid shut.
It wasn’t until she was out of the elevator and stumbling towards a concerned looking Alfred that she relaxed marginally. Despite the late hour, he was still impeccably dressed, as if he hadn’t ever gone to bed.
“Y/n?” he asked with a frown. The foyer was warm. Safe. Something in her loosened a little. “Security called up–”
“Um, I just witnessed a murder,” she said. She was in shock, or something close, because the words simply tumbled out of her. The disbelief on Alfred’s face mirrored what she was feeling now that the fear was leaving. “I had to run–that Batman guy was there and since he was distracting them I just–I needed to be safe and this was closest–”
Alfred wrapped her in a tight hug. “Are you alright? Are you hurt?”
She shook her head. Her body trembled.
And then she remembered, all over again, that her grandmother was dead and that she wouldn’t be getting the comfort she wanted the most. Alfred wasn’t even the next best thing, though it was good enough.
A small sound escaped.
“Alright, dear, I’m going to get the family lawyers on the phone. The police will meet us here to get your statement.” He squeezed her once more.
“Lawyers?” she asked, the word making her nervous all over again. “I can’t afford–”
“You’re family. And it’s just in case, love. They’ll offer legal advice and make sure nothing untoward happens with the officers interviewing you.”
She pulled away and wiped her damp eyes. “Okay. That’s–Where’s Bruce?”
Alfred hesitated. It was only for a moment, but long enough that she noticed. “Let’s not bother him unless absolutely necessary.”
Something sharp pierced her chest. Meaning, Bruce probably didn’t even care that she’d almost died. Tears welled in her eyes all over again, but didn’t fall.
Alfred patted her shoulder. “Stay here and we’ll meet the police together when they arrive. I’ll be right back.”
It only took ten minutes. Alfred had the lawyers on speakerphone and Bruce still hadn’t bothered to show himself.
The four of them–her, Alfred, a uniformed officer, and a detective–sat in the formal living room that no one ever used. It was dust-free, though, which was a testament to her grandmother’s work ethic.
Her throat tightened again at the thought.
“Y/n, this is Officer Martinez and Lieutenant Gordon,” Alfred said. “We’ve worked with them before and I believe them to be trustworthy. Gordon helped with the bombing last year.”
She started, recognizing the name. The fire that had just gotten her in trouble rekindled again, ever so slightly. She stared at the man seated in front of her. “You’re Batman’s best friend, huh?”
Gordon blinked. Then a corner of his mouth turned up. “Maybe not best friend, but we do work together. Why don’t you walk us through what happened?” Not the most subtle subject change, but she had more important things to get through before digging into the vigilante.
So she did. She kept it short, sweet, and to the point as if she were reporting on it instead of reliving it. It helped create enough distance that she didn’t freak out again.
“And you’re a friend of Mr. Wayne’s?” Gordon asked when she was finished. “Girlfriend?”
Her face heated. Alfred’s eyes narrowed. “I don’t see what–”
She waved him off. She was nothing to Bruce Wayne, so she didn’t care about answering, or even why he was asking. “We grew up together. My grandmother–Dory–was the head housekeeper for the Waynes until she passed a few days ago. I came for her funeral. And for my mother’s.”
Gordon simply nodded, as if he already knew the information. “Where is Mr. Wayne?”
Alfred’s eyes narrowed even further. “In bed. He wasn’t feeling well, so I didn’t see a need to bother him.”
“And the video? Did you delete it?” Gordon brushed past Bruce’s absence as if it didn’t mean anything. And to him, it didn’t. But for y/n, it meant everything. It meant that Bruce didn’t care. That she wasn’t important enough for him to wake up, to get out of bed. She hoped it didn’t show on her face, the minor devastation as the feeling sank in.
“No, I have it here. I can send it directly to you, or to multiple–”
“We’ll need the entire phone, actually, to ensure that nothing was tampered with.”
A tiny portion of her panic was back. Her entire phone? For how long? She looked to Alfred pleadingly.
But the lawyer–she’d already forgotten his name–was already on top of it. “We’ll need it in writing that the phone will be returned in a timely manner and in the same condition. And that there will be no perusal of personal files. I have a draft already sent to Mr. Pennyworth to print for signatures.”
Gordon sighed but nodded without argument. Was this what privilege felt like? Her life in close proximity to the Wayne fortune had afforded a few luxuries–like help with college tuition, Bruce giving her one of his “old cars”, things like that–but she had never needed to have lawyers on retainer. As close as she’d been with Bruce, sometimes his wealth still caught her by surprise.
Alfred disappeared down the hallway to print the documents, chatting with the lawyer the whole way.
Y/n studied the two officers in the ensuing silence. Officer Martinez hadn’t said a word. He was busy looking around the room in slack-jawed awe and barely seemed to listen to what they were saying. She glanced around, trying to see from his eyes. The room was grand, but it was also easy to tell the house had lost some of its former grandeur.
She glanced back at the officer. He was young, probably her age or maybe younger, with a thin mustache that didn’t make him look as old as he thought. He caught her looking at him and grinned sheepishly.
Gordon, on the other hand, stared right at her. She liked him, she realized. Her gut was rarely wrong on these things, but she knew better than to rely too much on that. It helped that he seemed steady, no nonsense. And apparently forward-thinking, because he worked with a vigilante on a regular basis.
There was that fire again. She silently cursed it even as she asked, “Would you be open to doing an interview about the Batman? I’m a reporter in Bludhaven and–”
Gordon’s phone rang out, shrill in the quiet room, interrupting her. “We’re best friends because he trusts me,” he said wryly, then stood to take the call as Alfred came back with the legal papers in hand.
“Damn. Only one?” Gordon said quietly, but they were all listening. “Alright. I’m with the witness now.” A pause. “Yeah. Yeah. Talk later.” He hung up and turned back to them.
“That was him, wasn’t it?” y/n asked. She wasn’t sure how she knew–investigative instincts, maybe. He had tried to hide the phone call, his body language shifting, even his voice. And he was familiar with whoever was on the other end of the call.
Gordon gave her a look. “Yes,” he said without needing to clarify who she meant. “I have officers on the scene now, but one of the suspects escaped. Do you think you could identify them?”
She thought back to the moment they had all turned to her. There had been a streetlight at the end of the alley, the light filtering through from behind her. She might be able to identify them, especially with the help of the video. She hadn’t put her phone away until after they had turned, frozen in fright as she was.
“I could try,” she said truthfully.
“Alright, let me sign these papers and get over to the crime scene. We’ll be in touch and get your phone back to you as soon as possible. I would suggest protective custody, but I think you’re probably in the safest place in the city.” He scrawled a signature over the papers. Y/n wondered if the bombing the year before had involved any legal paperwork. An NDA maybe, since officers had been in the “inner sanctum” as she’d jokingly called it during their teenage years.
“We’ll add more security,” Alfred said as he showed the officers out a minute later. “Please keep us updated on any developments.”
When they were gone, y/n slumped against the wall. “Fuck,” she said as she rubbed her tired eyes. The antique clock in the corner told her it was after two in the morning.
“My sentiments exactly,” Alfred said. He had shed the professional facade as soon as the elevator doors closed. “I’ve already posted extra security downstairs and in the parking garage. Our camera and alarm systems will be updated tomorrow. The private elevators are on lockdown and employee identities will be triple checked for the offices below.”
She nodded, though she wasn’t sure it made her feel better. One man had escaped both a vigilante and the cops, and they had all seen her face. It was only a matter of time before they figured out who she was–Wayne Tower going on lockdown was odd enough and it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out the cause. Her relation to Bruce Wayne had never been a secret. In fact, it had been an oft-discussed topic of every gossip magazine in the city and a few outside of it.
She hoped the man who had escaped was on the run instead of the vengeful type.
But her instincts told her that wasn’t the case.
She realized she hadn’t responded to Alfred. “I’m…going to bed. Thank you, Alfred.”
He squeezed her arm gently and bid her goodnight.
Y/n didn’t go to bed. Instead, she spent the next three hours scouring the internet for news on the Batman and printing out every article that seemed relevant. To what, she didn’t know yet. Those instincts that got her in trouble and created some of her best work in equal measure were whispering in her ear.
She finally succumbed to exhaustion right as the city outside started to lighten.
When she woke sometime later–long enough for her back to go stiff–she was on top of all of the papers she had printed.
“Ugh,” she said as she peeled an article from her cheek. She was still in the same clothes she’d gone out in the night before. She went to check her phone before remembering that the police had it. She opened her laptop and used that to check the time (nearly noon) and email her editor for an extended leave of absence. She briefly explained the situation without giving too many details and then asked for a temporary assignment to the Gotham Tribune.
There was a story here, and she was in the middle of it. It was an investigative reporter’s dream: to have unlimited access to a key witness who was willing to cooperate.
Might as well make the most out of an extremely shitty situation.
She showered, changed, and shuffled into the study when she heard the rustle of Alfred’s newspaper over light classical music.
“Good mor–uh, afternoon?” she said as she took a seat across from him at the giant monogrammed table.
“I’d ask if you slept well, but I think the answer is obvious after the night you had.” Alfred glanced up from the paper and smiled over the top of his glasses. “I’ve kept out some fresh fruit and coffee for you.”
She took some of both and settled in. She half-expected to hear her grandmother puttering into the room with a mop or a tray of sandwiches for lunch. Tears pricked her eyes when she realized that reality was gone forever.
“Thank you, by the way,” she said around a mouthful of grapes. “For…everything last night. And this week.”
“Of course, dear,” Alfred said, his light accent a comfort. He was the only constant in her life anymore, and she appreciated it more than she could say.
The silence stretched as she thought about how awful her luck had been in the past week. She stood and walked to one of the arched windows. The city was bustling down below, like it always was. She leaned her head against the cold glass and watched her breath create fog. Autumn had its claws in the city fully now, and it was only a matter of time before winter sank in its icy teeth next.
“Detective Gordon called. He thinks your phone will be released by tomorrow morning. They just need to document everything to make sure there’s no evidence tampering.” Alfred said as she watched the city. She noticed a small bubble of space around the tower where private security were deflecting pedestrians and double-checking employee identities.
“That’s good,” she said absently. “I asked for an extended leave from work. I figure I probably…shouldn’t do much else until that guy is caught.”
“Probably a good idea,” Alfred agreed. Another rustle as he turned the page of the paper.  “Gordon’s a very good cop. I’m sure he’ll get one in custody to tell him where the last one is, and this will all be over before you know it.”
She turned away from the window and smiled wryly. “That eager to be rid of me already?”
Alfred rolled his eyes but didn’t answer.
Her heart twinged painfully. She was sure it was Bruce who wanted her gone, not Alfred.
Speak of the devil, she thought as the man in her thoughts materialized at the top of the stairs. He was tugging a shirt over his head and damn it her eyes caught on the flash of bare skin of his abdomen. Her entire body flushed from the split second view. Since when did Bruce have abs? He’d always been more scrawny than anything, but all that had changed sometime in the past few years.
Bruce looked as tired as she felt. His eyes were almost bruised, the circles were so dark. His hair was damp and his shoulders curved inwards as if bowed by exhaustion.
Alfred looked up from his paper with raised brows. He glanced between them, folded the paper, and got up to leave.
“Fresh fruit and coffee there,” he said softly to Bruce on the way out.
That bastard, she thought at Alfred’s back. He was purposefully leaving them alone.
Bruce finally looked up and blinked slowly at her. Apparently, he hadn’t noticed that Alfred wasn’t alone.
She didn’t mean to speak. In fact, she’d decided to completely ignore him. But the words sprang forth anyway. “I hope you’re feeling better.” Her voice was cold. It was obvious she didn’t mean it.
Bruce froze. “Uh.”
“Alfred didn’t think you’d care about me almost getting murdered so we let you sleep.” She bit her tongue as soon as the words were out and winced. He could have been really sick, for all she knew, but here she was assuming he was just being an asshole.
Bruce shoved his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants. “I’m sorry,” he said. “I didn’t know until this morning.” The words were so unexpected her back bumped the cold glass of the window. Bruce Wayne, apologizing to her? It wasn’t an apology for three years ago, that much she knew, but it was still…something.
“Sorry, I–I’m just…tired. Overwhelmed. I shouldn’t have snapped.”
Bruce continued to stare at her. Used to, she would know what he was thinking from only a glance. But that was before. Now she had no idea what was happening behind his crystalline eyes. She noticed again how different he was. The baggy clothes couldn’t hide his new bulk. And he looked so tired, more so than he ever had before, even in college. Even after the deaths of his parents. What could possibly be keeping Bruce Wayne awake every night? Or maybe it was simply proof he had been sick after all.
“Are you alright?” he asked, brushing off her apology. “Were you hurt?” His voice sounded deeper too. It was like he’d gone through a second puberty or something. The muscles, the voice, even the way he held himself. He had changed so much, and she had missed it.
It sickened her how much she clung to his attention, to his concern, even though it was only him being a decent human. God, she missed him.
“No, I wasn’t hurt. That bat guy stepped in and gave me a chance to run.”
Bruce’s eyes flickered up, away, and back in quick succession. A nervous tick if she ever saw one. But why? Did he feel bad about what had happened to her? Or was he waiting for his chance to escape her presence?
“Heard he helped find the Riddler guy last year. The one who tried to kill you.” She knew she should shut her mouth, but she couldn’t help it. She couldn’t just switch off part of who she was. “Ever met him in person?” Her voice slipped slightly lower into what her grandmother used to call her “professional voice.”
She saw it happen–the hardening, the distancing. Bruce went from at least semi-open with her to entirely closed and walled off. That much she could recognize.
“No,” he said. He went to walk away, the lines of his body rigid, but paused. “I’m glad you’re okay,” he said over his shoulder.
She wondered if it was true.

"Good night! Or should I say good morning, Austin Texas! It's officially 12:00 am. August 29. We got some good news for you guys tonight-" the radio turned off abruptly with the rough turn of the dial, causing it to harshly click. The car became eerily silent, And time began to stand still. Johnnys gloved hand tightly gripped his steering wheel. head held down deep in thought, while his jaw began to clench. His tense body showed a man deep in battle with himself. His sharp inhales and deep rumbling exhales, reminiscent of a hungry animal or beast. His mind slowly being engulfed with a fuzzy, static, ringing sound. A sound that drowned everything else out, a sound that let him know he needed to hunt.
His dark eyes studied the blood-stained cloth, firmly held in his right hand. He tried his best to settle the unrest inside his mind and body. But finally gave into his loud flagrant desires. Bringing the cloth to his face, he took in the distinct scent of his new obsession. The hint of your natural sweetness, the lingering smell of your perfume, and the distinct copper signature of your blood. All of this together brought him into a high, causing his needy cock to harden and throb. his eyes grew endlessly dark with hunger. His breath now in the rhythm of a heated pant as he pulled away from the cloth.
After maria, he made sure to be careful. He didn't take you home right away, he wasn't going to lose another. He waited and played his cards right. By dating your hopeless friend, getting closer to you without notice. He managed to snag your beloved charm bracelet, a photo of your beautiful doe eyes and sweet smile, and now your blood. Unfortunately collecting and waiting was over. You were now in a perfect position for him. And he surely didn't give a damn about your loving fiancé. There you stood, in the dark. Your eyes dashing to see the source of each unexpected sound. While you held your bleeding hand waiting and waiting for your friends. They won't be back any time soon, he made sure of it.

AUGUST 29, 1988 TIME: 12:30 AM
The humid Texas air was slowly getting to you. You started to feel the time flying by. And with the passing moments, the texas night heat only grew stronger. Letting out an anxious huff, you battled with your better senses. You know you should sit still and wait for the girls to come back. But you felt uneasy, as the men coming into the bar had a open view of you. They gawked, whistled, and even took second and third glances while walking by. You began to feel like a rabbit in an open field. While Ignoring the male bar goers as best as you can. You noticed a figure standing 10 feet from you, gaining your full attention. It stood in the back alley of the bar, where the light didn't reach. You couldn't tell who it was or what they were doing, but after you stared for a little while longer. The figure titled its head mockingly. letting you know this wasn't delusion or Texas heat, this was reality.
You tried to swallow down the fear bubbling up, but your dry throat made it impossible. Your hand began to tremble lightly. You knew the hotel was a block and a half away,if you ran. You could try to page someone, but your pager was in friend's missing bag. As you quickly cycled through your mind, you felt hope wash over you. Your fiancé always gave you a switch blade for outings, which you thankfully kept this time. Frantically you began to search for it, feeling on its holster that wrapped around your thigh. Suddenly you heard it, "switch!", your knife being flicked open. Your eyes slowly looked up with dread, watching the figure waving at you with your knife in hand.
Then it all clicked, the only person close enough to take it, was johnny. Refusing to let him get you easy, you nodded at his shadowy figure. And without wasting a second you turned around and took off for the hotel. Last you saw of him; he took off stalking into the wooded area amongst the trees. While you decided to run down the clear sidewalk under the streetlights. You didn't scream, you didn't cry, you saved your energy for running. Your legs felt heavy, feet started to feel numb, and your chest ached from it pounding with each stride. You felt safe following the streetlights and sidewalk, until there were no more. Before you faced the wooded area of a park, an area with no trail, no railing, and no intention of life traversing. You knew by cutting through the park. The hotel would be closer for you to reach.
Hearing branches snap, dry leaves shuffle, and rustling bushes drawing near. you cared nothing for the concept of caution and ran into the wooded area.
If only you were more cautious.
Realizing pretty quickly the area you bravely ran into, turned into a downwards slope. You carefully tried slowly traversing down the slope sideways. Regardless of how careful you were, all footing was quickly lost. under the soft, muddy leaves, and dew-covered grass. With no control of your body, you began to slide down quickly into a full body tumble. Plunging down the slope, for what you felt was 8 feet from the ground. Your back finally collided hard with a tree at the bottom of the uneven slope. The forceful collision caused an audible coughing fit from the pain and exhaustion of your lungs.
"Tsk, what a damn shame... here I thought you were a tough one. I must admit you put up a good effort. None of the other girls ran as fast nor far as you did. Oh! I assure you!" Johnny would crouch down next to his prey and chuckled at your pain. While you laid there pathetically, he took out his harvesting blade. And with a quick snap of his wrist your dress came clean off. Leaving you bare to him and the low rolling night breeze. "You know, I thought your fiancé would have been somewhat smart. Being a cop and all...obviously not a good one. I was on your trail, during every little moment of your trip." His taunts continued. Quickly and clumsily, you tried to collect your tattered dress. Your effort proved to be of little use, with the shredded mess. "Hell, I think I know more about you than he does. Born in New Orleans green eyes like your mother, but sure do have your fathers' spirit." He got up following close as you writhed in pain. Pathetically crawling away from him, attempting to hide your naked frame from his gaze. He observed how weak you became, relying on all of strength left in your fingertips and arms. Johnny cruelly pressed his foot against your injured and bruised back. Stopping all pathetic attempts then and there.
While you laid there it became painfully clear, that you were dealing with a psychopath. A handsome face, scars excused as the marks of a hard-working farm hand. Staring you excused as shyness, every red flag you foolishly excused for your friend's happiness. Realizing what he was, you devised your survival plan. They say killers hate rejection.so you'll accept every kiss, every touch, even fall in love if needed be; you were going to live.
He suddenly took his foot off your back, his footsteps growing faint, yet petrifingly close. Snatching this opportune time, you continued to crawl away. He watched you from afar, with a assumed expression. Spending your time crawling to nowhere, johnny patiently bided his time. For the warm orange flame flickering under his eyes, was just picking up. So caught up in your hopeful efforts, and devising your plan. you missed the lingering trail of smoke. You carelessly disregarded every firey sign of inpending torture, and you were going to pay for it dearly.
"oh no? leaving already?" johnny's tone was filled with mocking empathy. No matter how hard you tried, your effort didn't get you far. With a few steps, Johhny was above you again. Once again his smothering foot met your back. leaning down, he purposely put his weight onto your weak back. "Boy, aren't you a sweet sight? I'd hate for you to run off one day, but if you do. let's make sure a kind soul can bring you back home.". His words were purposely vague, he could feel the confusion swirling and sinking heavy in your stomach. In his hand held a brass "J" branding iron, that your poor eyes didnt notice.
A harsh stinging slap to your ass, caused your body to jolt forward under Johhny's boot. your teeth gritted in pain, as it eased into a stressed exhale. only a second of peace was given to you, before your eyes widen with hot tears. Burning heat plunged into the flesh of your hip, seeping down to the bone. As the sensation raised up to your chest, your mouth opened to let out a shrill agonizing scream. before it could ring through the night air, Johnny's hand met your mouth. Quickly choking out your heart-rendering cries. Over stimulated with pain, your body begged for rest. He smirked as your body fell limp, your chest softly heaving with shock.
What have you done to earn this nightmare? you were raised as a church girl. Maybe you partied a bit too hard to be considered devout. But you were still a virgin, attended every sunday service, and treated everyone with love. How were you now prey to the, "bad man" Infront of you?. In your fog, you yearned to look into the eyes of the man towering before you. The night sky and lazy clouds swallowed all light, not a single star nor the moon was shining for you. Deep down without making out his face, you just knew johnny was grinning with hunger. "Hey there! "He suddenly come face to face with you. His hands firmly grasping your wrists. You saw his face clear as day now. The sadistic yet playful smile on his face, coupled with the gentle caressing of your cheek. Brought to you a uneasy sense of comfort.
"Don't cry sweetheart, ill try to make this quick." He closely observed your eyes, for any signs of opposition. you never seen a man nor animal, With such endlessly devoid eyes in your life. Johnny chuckled at your mindless deer in head lights expression. He brought his thumb to you bottom lip, feeling the delicate plush of it. Soft grazes became harsh once he grasped your chin, yanking your head up to his attention. His thumb no longer gently tracing, it now pressed hard against your lip in a rough pinch. Suddenly your haze lifted, you began to realize your position. Your head moving around, taking in your helpless environment.
Your frantic display of fear brought out a deep groan of pleasure out of johnny. The groan trailed off into a deep sadistic chuckle. That almost drowned out the soft bell like sounds of his unbuckling belt. A growl rumbled deep from his chest down to your stomach. He perched himself on your mid-section to stop any attempt of escape, encasing your small frame between his knees. With each squirm you caused his body to rock and grind against you. lighting would strike you down, if you said you didn't like his hard length throbbing against your skin. "Look, look at me!" He snapped at you. Your frightened efforts to not look at him, Slowly wore down his patience. His right hand which held your wrists together. Forced them above your head, he hadn't yet forgotten your wounded hand.
Maliciously his fingertips applied pressure on the fresh cut, the feeling made you swear his fingers were deep in your wound. which made your skin began to crawl with disgust. The Increasing pain caused you to cry out and arch back, in an attempt to get his weight off of you. He allowed you to arch your body, he reveled in how you moved for him. "Oh? Needy, aren't you? For a devout little church girl." He relished in teasing you, while his now bloodied fingertips traveled up your thigh. Finding purchase between your legs. Fingertips running up your thoroughly soaked panties, teasing your covered slit. Although his fingers were now coated in your sweet juice, He desired more from you. Suddenly, johnny's head become lost between your legs. He'd use is teeth to delicately pull your panties to the side, giving his fingertips free range to slowly push into your tight gummy entrance. He made sure to leave a intense fluttering sensation coursing up your spine. He leaned up to you, as you let out a soft moan. He parted his lips as yours did, letting out a pleased groan of his own. He took a moment to relish in your shameless state. Before grabbing the soaked lace mess and greedily ripping it off with little to no effort.
Your eyes widened as you tried to close your legs, hiding yourself as best as you could. "Oh sweetheart, don't tell me you don't want me to fuck you? With how wet you are?" His bare calloused hands gripped your thighs bruisingly tight, no longer caring what you do with your hands. Impatiently yanking your body down to meet his hips. His length throbbing against your pussy, as it radiated your heat covering his shaft with your slick. "I hate to tell you, but I have to fuck you now, since you begged and all" before you could even plea for him to stop or fight back. The air was taken out of your lungs, as you moaned out. Hot tears welled in your eyes. He pulled you down forcefully flush onto his cock, not caring you were unexperienced.
You watched his wild ravenous grin, as the strength of his hips made each thrust deeper and rougher than the last. He loved watching the tears roll from your eyes. Mesmerized by your moaning lips begging for his kiss. Johnny figured he'd give you this one kindness. Your soft moans would be choked out from you, as his large hand gripped your neck firmly. Bringing your needy lips to his, he gave you the passionate kiss you oh so desired. You found yourself running your fingers through his hair, which he hated. He began to smirk through the kiss and rewarded you with a keen vengeful bite to your bottom lip.
Your sweet blood, lingered on his tongue like liquor. Bringing him to a high, his thrusts grew needy and cruel. He lost himself, in the taste of you. Once he broke the kiss, you looked on at his shark like eyes in horror. Before you knew it, his hungry lips now wandered to your shoulder. A radiating source of your intoxicating perfume. Soft Fuzzy static began over take his mind, he knew what he wanted. And couldn't control his primal instincts. His body tensed, his muscles flexed and hardened, face buried deep into your neck hiding his internal struggle. He'd let out a animalistic grunt, a hopeless warning for you. A blood chilling scream rang from your weak throat. Johnny hungrily sunk teeth deep into your flesh. His mind now completely flooded with the roaring static. hearing your cries and french curses, faintly in the back of his mind.
"Fuuck!" johnny pulled himself out of his haze, his gaze darting to his left hand. Realizing he unknowingly took his knife out during the fog. Begrudgingly, he pushed his knife away from your body. Resisting the strong urge to kill you, atleast not yet. Instead he began to take in the sight of you. A broken mess, panting like a well fucked whore. He'd steady his position with his hand besides your head, now resting his weight on his arm. A frustrated whine echoed from your chest, demanding release. He felt your tight little pussy clench around him, your body ready to cum without his permission. His eyes glared deep into yours, his thrusts now mercilessly deep. greeting the very depths of you, abusing your cervix with his controlling strength. "You tight greedy whore-" He grunted, as you defiantly closed your thighs. Johnny smirked and decided not to go easy anymore. he pressed your thighs back against your chest. Thrusts bottoming out, as your core now ached against the girth of his length.
"J-...Johnny!" With the needy moan of his name. You finally broke, cumming on his thick punishing length. You began to tremble, as the wave rode through your body. You sweet inexperienced doll, you thought once you came it was over, not just yet. you began to stare down at the mess of your bodies, you watched as his cock stroked in and out of your gushing mess of a pussy. Mercilessly pumping out your cream, while your aching pussy wrapped around tight. carelessly you dared to drag your fingertips down his sweat covered torso, down to the base of his working cock. Luckily, he was too high off the feeling of his rushing edge, to punish your touch. His body pressed heavily on yours, he savored each sound your crying, messy body made. His body soon raised up again, his leaning head back getting a full view of you. Eyes sitting low, while his tounge wolfishly licked the dried blood off his smirking lips. You felt his fingertips digging deep into the plush of your ass. Which gave into his wake, bloody scratches and crescents from his nails adorning your ass.
"Take it! Take it!" His voice dripped with a carnal venom. His pace now sloppy against the twitch of his cock. Each twitch reminded him of how defiantly tight you were, not allowing him to stretch you even a centimeter more without a challenge. With a satisfied deep hiss, he claimed you. Filling your assaulted cunt with his hot thick seed. You panted with relief , Your body lightly trembled with each breath you took, until your nerves eased for him.
"Oh? sweet as a kitten now, aren't you?" he lazily pulled his satisfied cock out of you. He chuckled at your sweet face, before turning his attention to fixing himself up. Somewhere you found the strength to pull yourself up, weakly sitting on your tired knees. You began to admire the shape of his face, eyes tracing each scar, your chest fluttered at the mere presence of him. He didn't know what he was going to do with you, let alone a child. But that was the price to pay, he planned on selfishly keeping you as long as he could. His strong arms, carefully wrapped around your chest. Pulling you into his arms, practically cradling you like a feral kitten. "It's time to bring my prized catch home."
CHAPTER 1 END
Chapter 2 preview:
"Do you remember?"
Your eyes fluttered open, to the familiar melody. The upbeat romantic song that played during your wedding, bringing you a warm feeling of safety. The safety you cherished when you were finally found, finally free. But it was strange, your lazy eyes caught the time. 3:15 am, why would he play this so late?
"Do you remember how it all began?"
You remember your husband's disappointed confusion at his broken record player. Which now played eerily off key, deep and slow. Why would he play music on it now? Lazily your feet shuffled against the carpet. And unexpectedly met the soft rattle of your son's comfort blanket. Now Perplexed, you examined the small bat covered blanket. Abruptly, the flashing blue and white lights of your TV caught your full attention.
"I bet you remember, I bet you remember"
You felt the fear on your fingertips, as they glided against the wooden stair railing. Holding your breath, in a attempt to stop your heart from beating so violently. With each braved stair, your skin crawled with a stabbing chill that only increased. Untill you stopped half way, there he was. Your baby boy, being held by a shadowy stranger.
"Da-da!" The sweet babble from your baby boy, brought you so much dread. He could never piece his babbles into a clear "Pa-pa" or "Da-da", To your husband's dismay. But now sitting on the knee of a stranger, he joyfully rang out his new found word
The stranger leaned down, playfully shaking a teddy bear. While the baby sucked on his knuckles feeling truly entertained. Dark eyes slowly cut from him to you.
"Does mama remember me?" You knew that build, those eyes, and that damned intoxicating southern twang. With no more stairs to stall the inevitable, you now stood in Johnny's open veiw. You watched the corners of his mouth, curl into his signature devilish grin."Well, Hey there sweetheart!"
"Do you remember the time, when we first fell in love?"

What would Edward have done if the Detective had left his hotel room before he came back with coffee? (love me some angst)
The Worst You Could Do
Tumblr media
Summary: A "what if" scenario about what Edward would have done if he returned to his hotel in to find Detective gone in Chapter 22.
Content Warning: Angst
Word Count: 750
A/N: A non-canon "what if" scenario. This was a potential route I wanted to go when writing Chapter 22, so it was fun getting to see it actually play out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This morning had to be perfect. Edward had stayed up all night fantasizing about how it would go: coffee (your favorite, of course), breakfast, and hopefully he’d be there when you woke up to surprise you. One question continued to stray to the forefront of his mind on repeat, over and over again: Would you be waiting for him when he came back?
Excitement and nerves bundled in Edward’s belly as he fished out his hotel room key and unlocked the door. His hands trembled, and a lump formed in his throat; he swallowed it down the best he could as he pushed the door open and quickly hurried inside, shutting the door and locking it behind him. His gaze immediately landed on the couch, finding it empty. He paused, his footsteps stilling, and he frowned. He turned slightly, looking to the bathroom next, but the door was wide open – and you weren’t inside. His eyes shifted back to the bed.
No dress. No shoes. No you.
For a moment, it was as if the world stilled. His breath caught in his throat, his heart feeling as though it frozen in his chest. Terror clawed up his throat, mixing together with a slow churning anger bundling in his stomach. Slowly, he searched the room once more, blinking as if to make sure you were not hiding in some corner, as if to surprise or scare him – but there was still no sign of you anywhere – but his focus landed on a small scrap of paper resting on the table. He wandered over with slow steps, gazing down at the paper, recognizing your neat scribble written across it.
Edward,
I’m sorry, but I really need to get home. Talk later?
You signed it with your name – but there was nothing else. Leaving the discussion closed, with no room for him to even have a say in the matter. And in that moment, Edward was not sure what to do. He didn’t know what to think. But that slow churning anger only continued to build in his stomach, blossoming into something more than anger, more than rage, more than anything he’d felt in his life.
Because you were gone. You’d left him. And only said goodbye with a note.
A frustrated scream tore from his throat, and he slammed the coffee and food onto the table. The coffee spilled from their cups, brown liquid splashing over the table, dampening the paper bag. With an angry cry, he shoved the coffee and food off the table with one sweeping motion of his arms, his laptop and belongings going with it. Everything clattered to the floor in a mess of computer parts and bits and pieces. He sucked in a breath through gritted teeth, running his hands across his face as he tried to get a control of his temper – but it was too much. Too great for him to handle…because you were gone.
Immediately, he slipped his phone from his pocket and dialed your number, but his call immediately went to voicemail. He stared down at his phone as if it was his phone that was the problem, and tried once more – but it went straight to voicemail a second time.
So he tried a third. And a fourth. And a fifth.
On the sixth try, he gritted his teeth and with a strangled cry, he tossed his phone against he wall. It broke apart, shattering on impact, and he spun on his heels. Rage bubbled underneath his skin, hot and writhing, and he kicked the nearest chair. Pain radiated through his toes, but he ignored it as he chair toppled over.
How could you? he wondered, his fingers threading in his hair, tugging at the strands. Didn’t you see? Didn’t you get it? Why had you abandoned him so easily? Didn’t last night mean anything to you?
The questions raced through his mind one after the other, and his back slumped against the wall. His legs shook – giving out on him, and he sunk down, cradling his head in his hands. He couldn’t believe this. He did not want to believe this. Not now…not after last night…and here you were, doing the absolute worst thing you could possibly do: ignoring him. He slammed his head against the wall, hissing through his teeth as he squeezed his eyes shut, fighting frustrated tears that threatened to spill from his eyes.
Oh, my dear detective, he thought. You’re not going to ignore me that easily.

Heyy bestie, can I get a 1 and 3 from protective prompt list with Jack hughes about a creepy guy at a party??
1 "Don't worry. everything's going to be alright... "
3 "It's alright... it's okay... I'm here now. I've got you. "
Mentions of creepy guy
I was excited to be going to the party. It was a chance for me to meet new people and forget about my troubles for a while. However, things didn't go as planned. As soon as I arrived, I noticed a creepy guy staring at me. I tried to ignore him and mingle with the other guests, but he wouldn't leave me alone.
I tried to be polite and make small talk, but he kept following me around, and his conversation was getting increasingly creepy. I knew I had to get out of there, but I didn't know anyone in this city except for my ex-boyfriend Jack. I hesitated to call him, but I knew he was the only person who could help me.
I took my phone out of my purse and dialed his number. It rang a few times before he answered. "Hey, what's up?" he asked.
"Jack, I need your help," I said, my voice trembling.
"What's wrong?" he asked, sounding concerned.
"There's this creepy guy at the party, and he won't leave me alone. I don't know what to do," I said, feeling embarrassed and helpless.
"Don't worry. Everything's going to be alright. Just tell me where you are, and I'll come and get you," he said.
I gave him the address, and he said he'd be there in fifteen minutes. I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I knew I could count on Jack to protect me. He was always there for me when I needed him.
While I waited for him, the creepy guy kept trying to talk to me. I felt trapped and scared. I wished I could disappear or make him go away. But then I saw Jack's car pull up outside, and I knew I was safe.
He walked into the party, looking tall and strong, and he made his way towards me. "It's alright... it's okay... I'm here now. I've got you," he said, putting his arm around me.
I felt safe and protected in his embrace. He led me out of the party, and we got into his car. As he drove me back to my apartment, he listened to me talk about what had happened at the party. He didn't judge me or make me feel silly for calling him. He just listened and offered his support.
When we arrived at my apartment, he walked me to my door and made sure I was okay before he left. I felt grateful to have him in my life. Even though we weren't together anymore, he still cared about me and wanted me to be safe.

I dialed her phone number again, exasperation prickling my skin like a relentless itch. The familiar ringtone echoed through the air, emanating from behind Mitch’s apartment door. A furrow formed between my brows as I approached, now understanding that I wasn’t imagining it. Lia’s phone was inside his house, and I could hear it ringing. I climbed the two steps to the entrance. The vague iPhone melody ceased, coinciding with the end of the call on my phone.
“Lia,” I shouted, heedless of any prying ears nearby. My desperation morphed into anger, fueled by days of silence. I was determined to find Lia. “I know you’re in there. I’ve been trying to reach you for four days and you haven’t given me a single sign of life, so open the door at once or I swear to God I’ll break it down.”
Finally, the sound of movement behind the door stirred. With a click, the latch was removed, and the door creaked open. The first thing I saw was Lia's long brown hair.
I was pissed at her. After spending the day with me last week —after she came to the hospital—, she had vanished like a ghost, leaving my messages unread and ignoring my calls. I was worried enough to not let it go another day like this. Whatever was going on, she was going to tell me right now.
“Lia, what the hell is going on with you? You’ve been MI—"
She opened the door all the way, letting me see her bruised face. The right side of her face was reddened, and her cheekbone was swollen. the area around her eye was a rather nasty purple color.
The sight hit me like a physical blow.
For ten seconds, I did nothing but stare at her, my face transfixed by the horror of what I was seeing. She was wearing an old white T-shirt that hung loosely on her frame, exposing more bruises littering her arms. Dark circles shadowed her eyes, evidence of sleepless nights, and her hair hung in disheveled, greasy strands.
Then, a surge of fury swept through me like a tidal wave.
“Where the fuck is he?” My voice erupted from deep within me, laced with a trembling growl.
She didn’t say. She just sniffed, her breathing quickening.
Before I could muster another question, Lia threw herself into my arms, and her tears started flowing freely.
It took me a while to respond, my mind unable to process the reality that just unfolded before me. I held her tightly against my chest, as if shielding her from the world with my embrace.
This had been in front of me all these months and I hadn’t seen it.
Her sadness, the late-night calls, her insecurity, the childish questions, the pain on her side when the woman bumped into her at the hospital…
My blood gone cold.
“Lia," I murmured softly. I forced her to take a couple of steps inside the house and with one hand I pushed the door closed behind us. With tender care, I cupped Lia's face in my hands, careful not to cause her any harm. She clutched my hoodie with clenched fists. “Lia, where is he?” My own voice sounded foreign to me. There was a ferocity in it that I hadn’t known I possessed.
Her big, brown eyes met mine, and I saw the tears that pooled there and then welled up and continued rolling down her cheeks.
“Where is he? Where is he, Lia?”
She shook her head and managed to slow her sobs to tell me he wasn't home, still not letting go of me.
I didn't know what to do. A myriad of feelings had come over me and I was struggling to make decisions. A sense of defeat washed over me. Lia was hurt. Mitch, who had been my friend once, to whom I had introduced Lia years before, had hit her. He had hit the person he claimed to love. And I hadn’t noticed what was going on until it was too late.
My fingers slid along Lia's jaw line, dejected, but I had no right to feel that way, not when Lia clung to me as if I were her lifeline.
“I need to get you out of here.” I dropped my hands to pry one of Lia's fists from my hoodie and pull her into the room she shared with Mitch.
As soon as I stepped inside, a wave of disgust spread through me. The room was a mess—unmade bed, dirty clothes strewn across the floor, shoes scattered here and there, and an open closet door. It was a far cry from the organized person Lia was and from the way we kept our house when we lived together with the other boys.
I couldn't tell if this mess was Mitch's doing and Lia had been forced to live with it, or if it was a reflection of Lia’s own deteriorating state of mind.
“Get a bag,” I instructed, my voice firm yet gentle. “Pack your things. I’m taking you out of here.”
I picked up her iPad, the book she had on the small table beside the bed, and a pair of flip-flops tucked away in a forgotten corner of the room. As I looked back at her, a small glimmer of pride flickered within me at how quickly Lia was responding to my presence and my words. Despite the pain etched across her face, —despite the physical bruises—, and the lingering tremble in her body, she had ceased crying and stood resolute in the center of the room. In less than a minute, she had prepared herself, holding a backpack and meeting my gaze with determination. I reached over to take the backpack from her hands and put in the items I had collected. I took her hand again and we walked out of the room. I silently hoped that neither of us would ever have to set foot in it again, although I understood that sooner or later, whatever happened, someone would have to come back to pick up the rest of her belongings.
In the entryway, Lia let go of my hand momentarily to lean against the shoe rack, grab her gray UGG boots and put them on. She grabbed the house keys, and like a child seeking reassurance, she grabbed my hand again.
During the car ride to the my house, Lia said nothing, and I found myself at a loss for words as well. The initial terror that gripped me had eased with Lia’s presence beside me, curled up in the passenger seat, gazing out the window. Yet, working its way inside me was a torrent of rage, anger, an aggressiveness that I didn't know if I would be able to control once I had Mitch in front of me, because it was clear to me that that moment would come. I would not let him get away with what he had done to her. He would pay for it.
There had been so many times we'd been out together before he started dating Lia, and I'd seen him smiling countless of times as he wrapped an arm around Lia's shoulders. I'd seen him kiss her, whisper things in her ear... It had just been a facade. No one could tell me that when you love someone, you're capable of hurting them like this.
I needed to know what exactly happened, how long this situation had been going on, but I had enough sense to understand that now was not the best time to suffocate her with questions.
We reached the house. When I opened the door and walked with Lia inside, Jesse and Jolly’s faced looked up from the sofa and their expressions turned to confusion and then shock as they beheld Lia’s bruised face. Jolly immediately rose from the sofa. Jesse remained frozen in place, mouth agape. Lia walked without acknowledging them, crossing the living room, headed towards my bedroom. I silently signaled to Jesse and Jolly, shaking my head in warning, before placing my palm on Lia’s lower back as I followed her lead.
When we entered my room, Lia sank hopelessly onto the edge of the bed. Without meeting my eyes, she buried her face in her hands and started crying again.
All I could see was the vulnerable little girl I had found so many times hiding in her own room at her mother’s house, scared at the way her own mother had treated her, the things she had said to her, terrified at what old men had tried to do to her.
The lump in my throat swelled. A tear slipped down my cheek. I felt helpless. I was useless.
Kneeling before her, I reached out and lightly touched her knee, instantly regretting touching her.
“Lia, tell me how I can fix this,” I pleaded, my voice choked with emotion.
Through sobs and sniffs, she uttered, “you can’t.”
My heart sank deeper as I gently grasped her wrists and looked at the bruises marring her delicate features. The nausea threatened to overwhelm me.
“Hug me?”
I wasn’t sure if I heard her right; her request sounded faint, almost lost amidst the turmoil of emotions swirling around us.
One way or another, nothing was going to separate me from her again. Nobody would touch her again as long as she had me.
I opened my arms, and she leaned into my body, sliding down from the bed until she knelt in front of me, positioned between my legs. Together, we clung to each other, our tears blending into a symphony of shared pain.
When I returned to the room a while later after a brief escape to the kitchen to get some water  and an urgen update with Jesse and Jolly —I hadn’t been able to stop Jolly from grabbing his car keys and sprinting out of the house; he went after Mitch—, Lia sat on my bed, her back against the headboard, a stack of pillows piled beside her. She looked tiny on my large bed. She wasn't doing anything. She just stared at her hands, which were folded in her lap. Her eyes lifted when I entered the room. I tried to smile at her. There was no other place I wanted her to be at that moment than in my bed, but it broke my heart to see her hurt.
I sat on the bed, close to Lia but without invading her space. Lia had an expression that was not just helplessness. There was also some shame in her still red and watery eyes. We held each other's gaze for a while. I wanted to ask her if she was okay, or at least if she felt a little better. I wanted to ask her when it had happened and if it had happened before. I had one question after another piling up inside me, but I knew none of them was the right one, so I ended up reaching out and touching her knee with my fingers in a comforting gesture. I didn’t know where else I cold touch her.
Lia observed the movement of my tattooed fingers against the fabric of the sweatpants she was wearing, holding her breath until the dam broke, and thick tears spilled forth again. First, she covered her face with her hands, and in response to my broken voice calling her name, she crawled across the bed to reach me, throwing her arms around my neck.
I hugged her and held her against my body as much as we were allowed to be together. I let her cry, stroked her neck with my chin, and kissed her hair. If this was all she needed, this would be all I’d give her.
"You’re safe now, Lia. I promise. I won't let it happen again. I'm sorry I even let it happen. I'm sorry I didn't realize earlier."
"I'm sorry," she mumbled over my shoulder. "I didn't— I didn't tell you... " Her words faltered, choked by tears. "I didn't tell you because I was scared and ashamed. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Noah."
"Shh. I knew something was wrong. I should have done something sooner."
Lia's arms tightened around my neck. I felt her fingers clutching my hoodie again.
After a few minutes, as her breathing steadied and her heartbeat slowed to match mine, she gradually pulled away, pushing her hair back from her face. I asked her what happened, and since when it had been happening, how many timesMitch had hurt her.
Sat cross-legged in front of me,  she began to explain.
She explained everything. She answered each of my questions despite the tremor in her voice and the lump in her throat. Five minutes into talking, I offered another glass of water to her, which she gulped down with a little bit of struggle.
She told me how things had begun to go south a while after she had started spending more time in his place. He had proven to be someone quite jealous from the beginning, and his anger was easily awakened, but aren’t we all a little bit like that sometimes?
The first time he pushed her, Lia brushed it off was an isolated incident, unwilling to acknowlege the growing stain it placed on their relationship.
But as time went on, the stain continued to grow, spreading like ink on a canvas. With each passing week, each day, Lia found herself sinking deeper into a quicksand, unable to escape until it had engulfed her entirely, covering her mouth, and she couldn't scream.
“The time you caught that virus and I stayed with you, I told you we had had an argument that morning and I left to go back to my place, right? I didn’t tell him I’d stayed the night with you, but he guessed. I don’t know why. He came to my place, he pushed me until I fell, and he—he kicked me.”
The pain on her side when she came to visit me at the hospital.
"And this," she continued, gesturing to the purplish stains on the right side of her face, around her eye. As she lifted a finger to point at it, I noticed how much her hand was trembling. "This happened a few days ago, after I came back from the hospital and stayed with you after he—he forbid me to see you.”
Her eyes met mine. She didn't want me to feel guilty, but a part of me couldn't help it. If I hadn't succumbed to my need to have Lia by my side when I was sick, if I hadn't been a child and had taken care of getting medicine without relying on her, she wouldn't be bruised now. Right?
She lifted the hem of the t-shirt she was wearing to reveal the extent of the bruising on her ribs. Mitch knew where he had hurt her, and he targeted the same spot after discovering Lia had gone against his orders.
"Noah, please,” she interjected, “I know what you're thinking: If you— if Jesse hadn't called me, it wouldn't have happened, but it’s not like that at all. He would have done it eventually any way, and maybe I would have never been able to tell you, and things could have..." Her voice trailed off. She sniffled hard.
Being there, I realized something that hadn't crossed my mind before, something that I hadn’t dared to consider.
When I voiced the question, I held my breath.
"Lia, has Mitch ever forced you to...?"
I didn't want to say it out loud. Vocalizing it was the first step in making it real, and if her answer turned out to be affirmative, I a puzzled furrow between her brows. When I didn't press further but my gaze intensified on hers, she understood what I meant. She dropped her gaze and head with a heavy sigh, and my world collapsed.
But then, she answered ‘no’, and I understood that dropping her head had been a gesture of embarrassment that I didn't comprehend until she spoke again.
"We stopped having sex a long time ago,” Lia explained softly. “He wasn't... He wasn't rough or anything. He was just not attentive, basically. He lost interest very quickly."
A part of me felt relieved. Mitch didn't deserve any part of Lia, and now that I knew the extent of his cruelty, it only reinforced that he had never deserved her in the first place.
Since childhood, Lia and I had confided in each other and had told each other almost everything, from our first time to our most irrational fears. Having Lia in front of me, bruised, shrunken, filled me with a nauseating mix of emotions. I couldn’t bear the thought of how much she had been keeping inside and for how long.
"I don't know what he wanted from me," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Or what he still wants. These last few months..." She shrugged. "Maybe it's what I deserve: my mother never really loved me. I was a nuisance to her. My father, who knows? And Mitch... For a while I thought he really loved me. I just…” A heavy tremble took control of her. “I just wanted someone to love me."
I clicked my tongue when she burst out again and her tears spilled down her face and onto the duvet.
"None of them deserve you. And don't think for a second that no one loves you, Lia."
"He'll come looking for me. He'll know I'm with you,” she fretted, clutching at the white sheets.
"It doesn't matter,” I insisted. “He won't touch you again."
"I don't want him to hurt you," she sobbed.
"Don't worry about that.”
I stroked her right cheek with two fingers, wiping away a few tears as delicately as I could. Her pale complexion and tear-stained cheeks revealed the toll this ordeal had taken on her. The intensity of her bruises seemed to deepen in the dim light of the bedroom, a haunting reminder of the violence she had endured and that will stay with her for days. Maybe nightmares.
I would get nightmares after this.
"Why?" She whispered into the air, tormented by the questions that had no easy answers.
Why me, she wondered. It tore me apart to see her like this. She didn't say anything else, but I knew everything that was going through her head. Like me, she was also someone who overthought things too much, especially things that weren't important.
"What matters now is that you're here and you're not alone. And don't worry about anything, please. Especially about staying here."
"I don't want to go back to my mother."
The mention of that woman made me raise an eyebrow.
"Why do you think I would let you go back there? Lia, you’re staying here. You’re staying with me. You can stay here in my bed. I can sleep in the pullout sofa in the studio, and you can stay in this room."
What’s mine is yours. It’s always been.
Lia began to protest, but I silenced her with a shake of my head.
"Don't be so stubborn, please."
She sighed. We stayed silent for a while. Jesse was doing something in the kitchen to keep himself from losing it, too, and the noise from the dishes and cutlery reached the room.
Eventually, I stood up and approached Lia, looming over her. I raised a hand and brought it to her face. Before touching her, I asked for permission, to which she nodded with a slight head movement and a tired look.
I moved several strands of hair away from her face and tucked them behind her ear, revealing the red and swollen area on her face.
"It will disappear in a week," she murmured, as if she thought that would reassure me.
"That's not what worries me," I replied.
Two minutes later, I sank to my knees again and buried my face in Lia’s lap, grabbing her with trembling fingers as I realized that I had let this happen. Lia’s fingers tangled into my hair. We cried again, breaking the silence and clutching to each other.

The Demon came home, and he declared that the air was not clear. 'I smell the flesh of man.
Tumblr media
Recap:  When I got out of the car, a strange feeling made my chest tighten, but I ignored it. The feeling only grew as I climbed the stairs to my apartment. I suddenly felt sick. It intensified when I reached the door. I twisted the doorknob to check if it was locked, and the door creaked open.
I took a step back, shock and adrenaline coursing through my veins at the sight in front of me. My entire apartment had been trashed; jars of dried herbs shattered on the floor, furniture and dishes broken and ripped to shreds, the glass of the coffee table had been busted to pieces, bottles of various liquids were now puddles filled with broken glass, and carefully bound ancient books lying open on the floor, their pages ripped out and shredded, scattered around them. A scythe had been painted on the wall with spray paint. I picked carefully through the mess, my hands shaking and my mind racing. The thought that the people who had done this could still be here was the last on my mind as I picked up one of the books, my heart breaking in two. I was suddenly thankful I had only unpacked a handful of them, most of the others - and my favourites - still stacked in boxes under the bed.
I reached for my phone, and with trembling fingers I dialed Nick's number. He picked up immediately.
"Minx? Everything okay?"
"The reapers.." I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I'm coming over." He hung up, leaving me to stumble around my apartment, still in shock and still trying to process what I had come back to. I couldn't believe it, I was in denial. I couldn't do this, there was no way I could stay here in Portland. What was I even thinking?
I don't know how long I stared at the mess blankly, before Nick came barging in the door, getting my attention. His mouth fell open as he took in the destruction, his face falling.
"Ace..I'm so sorry."
"It's not your fault." I laughed weakly. My new life instantly began to crumble right before my eyes.
"Look. Look at me." Nick said, crossing the room and putting his hands firmly on my shoulders. "This is not the end. I know that's what you're thinking. You're not leaving again, we'll do whatever we have to do to fix this."
"They're going to find me no matter what, Nick." I argued.
"And we'll protect you no matter what. You're part of the team now, you're family." He pressed.
"Thank you." I sighed. "I appreciate it."
"You can't stay here tonight, it's not safe."
"I don't really have anywhere else to go." He sighed in frustration.
"I'd offer you a place, but I'm kind of out of one myself.." He trailer off.
"I'm fine. They're obviously just messing with me at this point, right? If they really wanted to, they would've waited for me and jumped me here or something." He gave me a skeptical glance and I held my hands up in defense. "I don't know!"
"I could have an officer placed outside?" He suggested.
"One, I'm not part of a murder case or something. I'm pretty sure you can't just do that without a reason. Two, this is wesen, an officer isn't going to help much with that. They don't know anything."
"I just need the captain to verify it," He started.
"No. Renard is not getting involved in this." I said adamantly.
"Why not? He knows you, he'd have no problem with i-"
"This is grimm business." I cut him off. He sighed in defeat, his forehead furrowed in concern still.
"I'll be fine." I reassured him. "I'm not helpless."
"You know it's not that."
"I know, I know. Don't worry about me! Go get some sleep, you look like you need it." I teased. "Sorry for bothering you."
"If you need anything.."
"Right, right. I'll call you. And look, I did! You can trust me, see? Now go." I ushered him out the door before he paused, opening his mouth to say something. "Yes, and I'll lock the door."
A smile crossed his face before he turned and walked back down the stairs. I closed the door behind him and leaned against it with a sigh, sliding down to the floor and resting my forehead on my knees.
"Right." I muttered after a moment, rising to my feet with a sigh. I looked around the room warily before grabbing one of the chairs at the dining table and dragging it with me to my bedroom. I braced it against the doorknob and twisted the lock on it shut. I fell onto the bed with a huff, staring up at the ceiling. I knew I would not be getting any sleep tonight.
I must have passed out at some point, because I woke up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily. Something had been pounding furiously at the door in my dream, while jars busted into shards for no reason, books tore themselves apart and furniture crumbled to the floor in heaps.
I jumped when my phone rang.
"Nick?"
"Yeah. How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Good." I lied. "What's up?"
"That's good, I think we're going to need your help on this case today."
"I should really be getting paid as a detective at this point." I joked. He scoffed lighthearted.
"Do you know of a wesen that's..like a microwave?"
"Like a microwave?" I repeated in disbelief and on the verge of laughter. "What?"
"I don't know how else to explain it. The victim was cooked from the inside out."
"Woah. That's pretty badass." There was a moment of silence before I heard a faint huff of laughter at my joke.
"Listen, this is serious." He said half somberly. "They were charred."
"Where at?"
"Their whole body??"
"No, I mean where were they burned at?"
"Oh. The victim was found in her home."
"Huh." I scanned my memory for anything I could remember reading about. Something suddenly appeared in my mind, though I had not read about it. My father had told me about it many times, but they were believed to be creatures of actual myth. Non-existent or, if they did exist at some point, they did not exist now.
"Do you know where she was before?" I asked, turning my phone on speaker and setting it on the nightstand as I threw a shirt on.
"Yeah. She had a camera, and was filming around Mount Hood. She took some rocks from around a fumarole and someone came charging at her. I think she pepper sprayed him, but we can't be sure."
"How did- wait nevermind, can I just come to the scene?"
He laughed. "Yeah, I'll meet you there. The body's been picked up and everything, but the scene is pretty interesting. You'll definitely want to see it. I'll text you the address."
"Thanks." I pressed the end call button and finished getting dressed.
"So what's so interesting about this case?" I called over to Nick as he exited his own car. A black SUV pulled up moments later, Renard stepping out and tucking his phone into his pocket. "Where's Hank?" I asked.
"On vacation." Renard replied, giving me a nod in greeting.
"The weirdest part about this wasn't that state of the vic's body, surprisingly enough. The house is scorched." Nick stated.
I glanced around. "Doesn't look like it to me."
"Right? But look inside." He continued as we climbed the stairs. He opened the door and I followed behind him. I looked around curiously at the scene of the crime.
"I've never seen anything like this." I said in shock.
"Neither have we. We were hoping you might know of it." Renard said. I took my time looking around, noting the plastic bags on the countertop that had been melted from the heat. The scorch marks didn't look like they were from any normal fire; burnt splotches about the size of a person were seared into the wall randomly. A thought suddenly popped into my mind.
"Wait..you said the victim went to a femoral vent?"I asked. Nick nodded. "At Mount Hood, which is technically a volcano." He nodded again. I  turned back to the burnt wall, brushing my fingers carefully across the ashy surface. "I didn't think they were real.." I murmured, mostly to myself.
"What?"
"Volcanalis." I said, louder this time, and glancing back at Renard.
"What?" He echoed Nick. "That's not possible."
"What are you two talking about?" Nick interjected.
"I don't think it's technically wesen but.." I glanced at the police captain for confirmation of my statement. He seemed to know what I was talking about.
"No, you're right." He confirmed.
"Did she take anything from the mountain?"
"We couldn't find anything, but from the video, it looks like she took some sort of rock from around the vent." Nick answered.
"That would explain it." I muttered under my breath, turning back to the scene and taking a final look around.
"Earthquake?" I suddenly asked.
Nick just shrugged. "Seems like it, but no one else in the area can recall feeling it."
"Huh." My eyes trailed over the scene, trying to piece together what happened. I heard a pair of footsteps leave the room, so I trailed off to another part of the house. The rest of it didn't look so bad. It looked like most of the damage had been in the kitchen. I was studying the rock fragments on the countertop, which were unlike anything I had seen before.
"What do you think?" I was startled by a voice close behind me. I drew back, pressing myself against the countertop to put more room between us. It was Renard, I realized.
"I- I'm not sure." I said uncertainly. "I thought these things didn't exist. My father used to tell me stories about them, but he even said they weren't real. I've never seen anything like this, but it's the only thing I can think of."
"You were close with your father?" He questioned, abruptly going off topic.
"Yeah, you could say that. My mother died not long after I was born, killed herself because of postpartum depression, is what my dad said. It feels like my fault at times." I admitted. He placed a hand on my shoulder in reassurance.
"I'm sure it's not." He said softly. I withdrew, suddenly embarrassed.
"Sorry. That was a bit heavy." I laughed awkwardly, trying to ease the tension I felt.
"Don't be. I'm glad you trust me with that." He reassured me, patting my shoulder before turning away.
"So what do you think? You're the cop." I asked him, trying to return to the case.
"I think you're right, but we need to find some other information." He said.
"I looked before I came down here, I don't have anything in my books. Nick!" I suddenly called.
"Yeah?" He answered from the other end of the house. I heard his footsteps before he appeared in the doorway. "Think you could look for something in those books of yours?"
"What is it?"
"The volcanalis. It's a lava looking creature. You'd know it if you saw it."
"Sure, I can try. Is that what you're thinking did this?"
Sean shared a quick glance with me before replying. "Yeah, we think so."
"I'm not sure if you'll find it," I added. "It's sort of a myth, even in the wesen world, but it's worth a try. I've already gone through my books and I couldn't find anything."
"It won't hurt to try."
"Thanks." I smiled at him. He turned away, heading out to his own car and pulling his phone out. I turned to Sean standing beside me, giving him a small smile before turning to make my way out of the room.
"Wait." He said suddenly. I paused, spinning on my heel to face him and leaning against the doorframe. I heard Nick's car start up and drive off into the distance. I surprisingly felt at ease with the tall, stoic zauberbiest standing in front of me. I met his gaze, questioning.
"Do you..want to go to a cafe for coffee? I know a good place not too far from here." He inquired hesitantly.
"Uh, yeah. Sure. Right now?" I was unsure how to reply; he had caught me off guard.
"Unless you have something else you need to-"
"No. Of course." I offered him a small smile.
His lips quirked up in a smile. "Good." He brushed my shoulder as he walked past, turning back to see if I followed. I broke off as we stepped on the sidewalk to go to my own car.
"You can ride with me." He offered. "I'll bring you back after."
"You sure?" I asked, not wanting him to have to go out of his way.
"I'm sure." He reassured me.
He held the door open for me as we walked into a high-class looking cafe. I silently cursed at him for picking such a nice cafe, feeling incredibly out of place in my every day clothes.
As we sat down in a booth by the window, I nervously glanced around. I'd be lying like the devil if I said the events from the past couple of weeks hadn't shaken my nerves. More than that, it had worked its way into my already terrible nightmares.
"What's wrong?" Renard asked, noticing my distress.
"Nothing." I lied weakly. I was aware from the frown on his face, that he knew I was lying, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him. I didn't want to worry him. We hadn't known-actually known-each other for very long, but there was an undeniable trust between us. A bond that only comes from having to trust your enemy.
"How have you been settling in?" He changed the subject.
"Pretty good. It's been hard, getting used to not being on the move and all, y'know? But it's something I could get used to." He nodded. "I haven't been able to..to do something like this in a long time. Getting acquainted to people, things like that, I mean."
"What's the longest you've stayed somewhere?"
"Since I've been on the move?" I asked. "A couple weeks, maybe three, at best. At the beginning I tried, multiple times, and I managed to stay at one place for a couple months before they caught up with me."
"Who?" I grimaced. I knew he was going to ask more about them eventually.
"Can I take your order?" We were both startled when a waitress appeared at the side of the table.
"Just the regular, thanks." He said briskly, leaning back. I hadn't realized we had been leaning across the table to each other, in our own little bubble.
She looked to me, waiting with a polite smile on her face. My eyes nervously darted to Renard's.
"I'll take the same, I guess." I answered uncertainly. She nodded, scribbling something on her notepad before walking off.
"I hope you like black coffee." An amused smile appeared on his face.
"I'll take it either way. It's just energy to me at this point." I half joked.
She was back a couple of minutes later, two paper cups in her hands. She set them both on the table with a polite smile.
I reached for mine, taking a tentative sip. I grimaced at the strong, bitter flavour.
"Too strong?" He asked me in amusement, while taking a long sip from his own coffee.
"I usually take mine this strong, just not without sugar." I made a face in disgust, reaching for the sugar packets. He huffed.
"So," He started, suddenly serious. "Who are these people?"
I sighed. "There's a lot of groups after me Sean, I don't know."
"You said there was one that seemed to keep tabs on you." He pried.
"You've heard of the reapers, right?" He nodded, taking another sip from his coffee. I stirred mine, preparing to continue. "Yeah, them." I said finally, not really wanting to elaborate. I was afraid I would be unable to lie to him any longer if I continued.
"Have they tracked you here yet?"
"Not that I know of." I internally cringed at the blatant lie. "I did everything I could to cover my tracks. Changed phones, changed cars, everything."
"Good." He was cut off by a ringtone.
"I have to take this." He sighed. He pulled his phone out, quickly glancing at the screen before answering it. "Yeah? Alright. I'll be right there." He hung up, giving me an apologetic smile.
"Duty calls?" I asked, moving to stand up as I noticed him reaching for his coat.
"Yes, I apologize." He said, leaving a twenty dollar bill on the table.
"I can pay." I protested.
"My treat." He said decisively, shrugging his coat on and grabbing his unfinished cup of coffee. I picked mine up as well, following him out the door of the cafe.
"That was nice." I said as we pulled up to my car. "Thank you. I don't think we've really sat down like that since we've met."
"We should do it again sometime. If you'd like?" He offered, leaving it up to me.
"Definitely." I smiled at him. "My treat next time." He nodded, the corners of his lips turning up into a smile.
"Next week?"
"Sounds good." I agreed, opening the car door to leave.
"Stay safe." He added seriously.
"I will."
"Captain." Nick called as the police captain walked into the precinct, falling into step beside him. "I need to talk to you."
"Of course." He said, entering his office with the detective right behind him. He turned to face him, leaning back on the desk. "What is it?"
"It's Ace." Nick said after some hesitation. He looked at the grimm quizzically, urging him to continue. "Did they tell you about the reapers?"
"Yes, they did. They said they had it under control. The reapers haven't followed them here to their knowledge. Why?"
Nick grimaced. "The reapers broke into their apartment the other night. Trashed the place." Renard suddenly leaned forward, his heart stopping in his chest.  "Look, I know this isn't any of my business." Nick fretted. "They didn't want me to tell you. I shouldn't be getting involved but I'm worried about them-"
"They just told me they were fine today," Renard paced, before suddenly grabbing his phone. "Thank you." He said dismissively. The detective took the hint, leaving the room with a last worried glance.
"If you need me-" He called on his way out.
"I'll call. Go ahead and go home." He insisted. The door slammed shut as the captain hastily dialed the other grimm's number into his phone. They didn't pick up. He swore under his breath, redialing their number as he patted his hip, checking for his gun. He slammed the door of his office shut behind him, striding down the hall at a brisk pace. He continued to redial their number until he reached his car. He paused, his hand on the ignition, waiting for the last ring before he appeared on their doorstep looking like an idiot.
His call went to voicemail again.

The first picture was sent on Monday. You remembered it clearly unlike most Monday mornings. It was the same boring ritual; a coffee that had long turned cold, a pen that wouldn’t write, and a computer that ran as if on dial-up.
The only bright side was that your small desk was near a window and you could look out onto the city streets, though they were hardly less miserable than your own existence. You were so high up the people were merely moving specks. You often found yourself distracted by the crowded traffic below.
You were drawn from such a distant reverie by the buzz of your phone. You kept it face down by your monitor. Despite the temptation, you limited yourself to succumbing only once an hour. You sat back and your chair creaked as it tilted beneath you. You checked the time in the corner of your screen and reached for your cell, the rubber case scuffed and scratched at the edges.
Notifications for the same emails that sat open in front of you and a few personal ones in the next bubble. Another for the game you played on the subway or when you were overly listless, several updates for your hoarded apps, and a single text.
There was no number attached to the message, only the foreboding thick font that read ‘unknown number’. You chewed on your thumb as you leaned forward on your elbow and swiped your screen up and punched in your password. The screen flashed and you hit the last notification. No words, just a file. You hit download.
You blinked as it ate your data and the image of your apartment door appeared. You glanced around and laughed to yourself. You shook your head and keyed in your response; ‘very funny, Eva.’ You hit send and set your phone back down.
Your old friend liked her jokes and you hadn’t missed her little ploy the last time she showed up at your place angry over her latest fling. You had thought she was getting a picture of the stain on the hallway carpet that looked suspiciously like blood… or feces… or a mixture of the two.
You went back to your work and switched the document you’d been picking at for most of the morning. Your job was as entertaining as watching paint dry then peel from age. When you applied for an editing position, you’d expected thrillers and melodramas. Instead, you got dry textbooks and educational guides.
You yawned and pushed through to your scheduled break. You dumped your cold coffee and headed down to the café to grab another. The coffee they kept in the office was cheap and bland. You ate your salad in the lunchroom as you watched the clock tick away. You checked your phone. No reply to that unusual text. Eva must’ve chickened out.
You scoffed and switched chats to send her usual number an ‘lol’. You tucked your phone in your pocket and punched back in before you headed back to your desk. A couple more hours and you’d be home to stew in the early week daze.
The last half of the day went quicker and your subway ride was uneventful; well, for New York. You walked home from your stop and pulled out your phone as you climbed the stairs. You slowed down and moved your feet blindly. You’d finally gotten an answer. ‘Eva?’
You opened the chat again and hit the image. It filled the screen and you squinted as you came to a stop. The stain wasn’t there. Your landlord had finally relented and had the entire hallway torn up and replaced with an even duller shade of grey. The picture had been taken since then; within the last month. The last time you’d seen Eva, you’d gone to hers.
Your chest clenched and you gulped. You hit the little icon in the corner of the conversation and hit ‘block’. You continued to your floor and neared your door. You looked down the hallway and back to your door. You tried the handle. Locked. You took a breath.
It could still be a joke. The stoner next door, Perry, had your number from when you agreed to feed his cat that one time. Maybe he was high or just trying to be funny. Still, it hadn’t come up under his name. Well, he might have changed his number since then.
You unlocked your door and scurried inside. You made sure to turn the latch and slide the chain into place. You tossed your bag beside the mat of shoes and added your flats to the pile. You dropped your phone on the coffee table and untucked your work shirt as you walked around the small living room.
Nothing was out of place, not that you truly believed whoever it was had gotten past your door. You rubbed your forehead and went to the small kitchen that looked out into the living room. You grabbed a can of sparkling lime whatever and plopped it next to your phone.
You went to your bedroom and stripped yourself of your stiff work clothes and pulled on the night shirt crumpled atop your blanket. You looked down at the thin grey cotton and reached under to unhook your bra. You flung it in the corner knowing you’d be cursing yourself when you couldn’t find it the next morning.
You flopped onto the couch and grabbed your remote. You turned on some mindless Youtube video and opened the mobile game which had taken too much of your life from you. You connected three and four and five and somewhere in between your existentialism kicked in and had you wondering at the point of it.
You closed the app before it ate all of your battery and your phone shook in your hand.
‘You didn’t tell me who Eva is.’ The message flashed over the top of the screen then disappeared. You pulled down the notification and hit it. You were certain you’d blocked the number. The other messages were gone though and ‘unknown number’ was still emblazoned across the top. You blocked the convo again and dimmed the screen.
You plugged in your phone and sprawled out across the sofa. You stared at the television, a blur and a buzz to your frantic mind.
It was dark already when you dragged yourself off the couch and heated up a microwave dinner. You ate it without tasting and your phone chimed to signal a full charge. You left it as it was on the arm of the couch and resumed your repose on the sofa. You fell asleep to the angered commentary of a gamer trying to fight a clam.
You awoke with a start. You blinked through your daze as your television showed stills of mountain and grassy fields. You sat up and grabbed your phone. You checked the time; midnight. Another message.
‘She’s the one you had coffee with last week.’ It said.
You gaped and dropped your phone. You looked around as if whoever it was would be hiding in the corner. You shook as you reached down and took the phone. You swallowed and began to type.
‘Whoever this is, this isn’t funny anymore. Cut it out.’
‘Funny?’ The response came quickly.
‘I mean it. Stop.’
‘Good night, sweetheart.’
You recoiled at the message and bit your lip to keep it from trembling. You checked your door again, the chain still in place, checked every inch of your apartment in your paranoia. Nothing. You let out a breath and took a blanket from your bed and huddled up on the couch. You turned on a playlist, not sure you’d be sleeping much that night.
💌
You weren’t sure when you fell asleep again but you rose before your alarm. You drank your coffee as the sky turned a duller shade of grey. You went through your usual morning dance and headed out the door with a bagel hanging from your mouth. You chowed down on your way to the subway. You felt your bag buzz as you stepped on the train.
You ignored it and clung to the bar as you counted the stops. You got off and stopped by the coffee shop. You ordered a black tea and headed down to your building. Your desk was as it was when you left it. The chair was tucked in and your mouse was hidden behind the keyboard. You sat and booted the laggy machine.
As you waited for it to start, you stirred around in your bag for your phone. You had another message. You dreaded opening it but the circle just kept spinning in the middle of the monitor. You hit the bubble and your phone unlocked.
You took a sharp breath as the image glared back at you. It was you, on the subway, that morning judging by the jacket, staring at the door as the photo was taken unknowingly. Your phone slipped from your grasp and you spun in your chair.
Everything was as it should be. Your co-workers looked just as dead inside as you. Your boss was boxed up in his office on a ‘conference call’. You shuddered and turned back to your desk. You burned your tongue on your tea and signed into your computer. Your phone vibrated beside your shoe and you bent to retrieve it.
‘You looked tired this morning’. The next message blipped on the screen.
You were quick to sweep the clock upward and type. ‘Who the fuck is this?’
‘Sweetheart. I don’t like that kind of language.’ The response was quick and sharp, even in text.
‘Tell me who you are? Why are you doing this?’
‘One thing at a time.’ The letters burned into your vision.
‘Who are you?’ You keyed in again. No answer.
You set the phone down and watched it. Five minutes, no buzz. You hovered your hand over your mouse and tried to focus on your monitor. Your heart was so loud in your ears, your head began to pound.
💌
When you got on the subway at the end of the day, you looked around frantically as you settled into a seat, your bag hugged to your chest. You glanced up and down the car a dozen times over as you awaited your cue. Your toe tapped anxiously and you stood so fast you were dizzy when your stop came up.
You rushed down the sidewalk, peeking over your shoulder every other step. You didn’t say anything unusual; no one following you, no one watching. You ran up to your building and unlocked the door clumsily.
You hurried up the stairs and down the hall to your apartment. The key slid in roughly and you turned it so quick, you were certain it would bend. You skirted inside and put the chain in place.
You looked down as your thin-soled boot brushed over something. A pile of flyers slipped through the slot in your absence. You picked them up and sorted through them, an envelope amidst the mess. On its face, it read ‘for my sweetheart’.
You hovered by the door, staring at the envelope. After a moment, you slung your bag down on the floor and placed the flyers on the end table by the lamp. You clicked on the light and ran your thumb along the lip. You carefully opened it and pulled out the paper inside. You unfolded it and your breath caught in your chest.
It was a sketch, quite well done, of you. You’d worn that sweater last week. You went to the park and walked around, sat by the fountain, tossed rocks into the babbling basin. They had been there, whoever it was. How long had they been watching?
And they had been at your door, close enough to slip this through the slot. You folded the drawing and shoved it back in the envelope. You stomped into the kitchen and tossed it into the bin beneath the counter. You backed up and gripped the other counter behind you. You felt a lump in your throat.
What the fuck was going on?
💌
You started going in early to work; catching the train half an hour before your usual one. You left late and changed your route between the station and your building. You entered through the back, hopping the low concrete barrier between the apartments and the backlot.
Still, it only gave you a single day of peace. No messages, no pictures; and you thought the game was over. You hoped it was. That it was just a sick joke that had finally grown tiring.
But Thursday saw another image of you just outside your work building. Friday, another of you on the subway.
The weekend was listless. You did your shopping quickly and on Sunday, you wore a loose hoodie to the laundromat. You could find nothing peculiar around you. The city was full of sketchy people but none seemed to be watching you. The hordes were still about their own lives; ignorant of those around them. You felt entirely alone, as if you were being hunted.
Monday was much the same as the last but how could it ever be dull again. You shut your phone off so you could focus on your work. When you were finally done, you dialed the toll-free number for your provider. You took a taxi home and spent two hours on the line but you got your new number and a sense of relief.
You kept your phone on, ringer on max, and nothing. You watched the screen rather than the television but it only lit up with emails and a random text from your mother. You slept in your bed that night, almost soundly.
You still kept your eye over your shoulder. Still searched out any sign of unusual interest. Perhaps you were clueless or maybe your lack of response had finally gotten through to them. Once their messages bounced back as out of service, they might have given up. They got their laughs, now you wanted peace.
It lasted until Friday.
A full week and you were certain it was over. You finished work and stopped by the liquor store for a bottle of wine on your way home. You could finally let loose. Life had gone back to its usual tedium. You browsed the reds lazily but pondered a pack of coolers instead. Your phone buzzed. You slid it from your pocket out of habit.
‘That cabernet on the top shelf is on sale. Just to your left.’ You stared at the message and backed away from the shelf. You looked around but all the other customers seemed intent on their own purchases. You gulped and blocked the unknown sender.
You left emptied-handed and ran for the train. You got home an hour later than usual. You raced up the stairs and stopped dead in front of your door. The tall gift bag looked familiar; it had been hanging in the store by the till. You neared and peered inside. The golden cap of the wine that had stood in front of you; top shelf.
You bent and flipped the little card attached to the string.
‘For you, sweetheart. Enjoy your weekend.’
You stood and grabbed the bag. You glanced up and down the halls and stormed back down the grey carpet. Your feet hammered down the stairs and you burst through the back doors. You threw the bag into the dumpster and heard the shatter. Your lip trembled as you spun and sprinted back inside.
When you reached your apartment, you called Eva. You struggled to open your dresser with one hand and started pulling out clothes and stuffing them into your neon duffle. She finally picked up.
“E-eva,” you stuttered, “can I-- Can I stay with you, please? J-just a night or two--”
“Wohoa, whoa, slow down,” she said. “What’s going on?”
“I can’t… I can’t tell you now. I’m just-- I’m freaking out and I can’t stay here.” Your voice cracked and you sniffed back tears, “I-- Please. I’m so sorry.”
“Yeah, it’s fine. I… I have plans but I can cancel,” she offered.
“No, no, I… don’t--”
“You’ll have the apartment to yourself,” she said, “I’ll just let Ray know I’ll be late.”
“What time are you supposed to--”
“Seven but it’s fine,” she assured you. “You okay?”
“I… Wait, you’re fucking around with Ray again?”
“Do you want the couch or not?” She half-kidded, “you want me to meet you there or--”
“No, no,” you whisked into your washroom and grabbed your toothbrush, “I’m coming right now.” You returned to the bedroom and shoved an armful in the bag. “Eva… thank you.”
“Stay on the phone,” she said softly. “Please… you’re scaring me.”
“Okay,” you zipped up the duffle, “yeah, I’ll stay on.”
💌
You hung up as you came up to Eva’s building. She met you at the door, a thick silence between you as you sensed what she wanted to ask you. You weren’t sure how to tell you. You weren’t sure if you could.
You pushed the door closed behind you as you entered her apartment. It was cuter than yours, a spiral staircase led to a loft above and the curtains were lace and matched the dainty pillows on the couch. You placed your bag on the floor and she turned to you.
“Just give me a moment,” you said. She didn’t need to ask.
She went to the desk in the corner of the spacious room and turned on the ring light of the round mirror. She fished through her make-up box and pulled out her eyeliner. She was already done her base and highlight. You neared and hovered just beside her desk.
“I don’t even know…” you stopped yourself and went to your bag. You pulled out the paper you’d shoved in the side pocket on your way out. “Look.”
You crossed to her again and unfolded the sketch on her desk. She glanced down from drawing a wing along her eye and lowered the pencil. She blinked and shrugged.
“Look, someone dropped this through my mail slot. No address on the envelope, just this.” You felt crazy. “And I thought it was all some joke. They were sending me pictures, of me, of my building… I blocked them but they just kept on. I even changed my number.”
She scrunched her lips and looked back to her mirror. She finished her other eye and set the pencil down.
“You call the police?” She asked calmly.
“I… the drawing is all I have. I just deleted the messages when they came because… well, I didn’t think much of it at first. Not until… There was a bottle of wine waiting for me when I came home. The very same I was looking at right before I booked it for my train,” you rubbed your cheek, “Eva, I’m not crazy. I swear.”
“I believe you,” she said, “why wouldn’t I but… there’s nothing you can do but keep a log of what happens from here on out. Screencap everything.”
“You think… you think the police would help if I did?” You asked.
“Not much. Stalking isn’t really something they take seriously. I knew this girl in college-- Well, the evidence can at least get you a restraining order… if you ever figure out who’s sending you all this,” she paused and glanced down at the drawing. “Whoever it is, they got talent.”
“I’m sure they’d be happy to hear that,” you scoffed and crossed your arms.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to stay here with you?”
You pondered her offer but shook your head.
“As much as I think you should send Ray along, no. I can’t ask any more of you.” You sighed and grabbed the sketch. You dragged your feet to the couch and flopped down on the cushions, “I really do appreciate it.”
“I always told you to get out of that neighbourhood,” she said as she searched her assortment of make-up, “but you know I never mind you hanging out.”
💌
You spent the night on Eva’s couch, alone. She didn’t get home until three in the morning and you waited until noon for her to wake up. When she did, her face was smeared with eyeliner and her hair a mess.
You hadn’t touched your phone since the night before. You chewed your thumb as you waited for her to emerge from the shower, restless and unsure what to do with yourself. She slammed the lid down on her coffee machine and growled as she turned and crossed her arms.
“Are you okay?” she asked sharply.
“I’m sorry,” you said as you stopped pacing. You barely remembered getting up to walk circles around the coffee table, “I just don’t know what to do.”
“Well, how about a latte?” she yawned behind her hand, “my coffee machine is fucked… again.”
“Um, maybe that’s best, get out and… distract myself,” you twiddled your fingers as your stomach ached. You hadn’t eaten anything since the day before and that was just after noon.
“We’ll get lunch,” she rubbed her forehead, “soak up the wine.”
You shook your head and said nothing. She always drank too much around Ray but you didn’t have the energy for that argument again. So you stayed quiet and watched her disappear into her bedroom.
She emerged as you zipped up your purse. You didn’t bother with your phone as you waited by the door but felt listless without the device. It was like a shield you used when you went out in the world. It kept you from eye contact or awkward conversation.
You set off and headed down the street to the pub that seamlessly shifted from brunch to ladies’ night every Saturday. You ordered breakfast tacos as you sat just inside the large floor length windows that looked out onto the shady patio. The other guest lent a sense of normalcy as they carried on their own conversations and reminded you that you were just another ant on the hill.
As you got your latte in the stemmed glass, Eva pulled out her phone and scowled at the shaking. She was so wrapped up in her texts with Ray she hadn’t even mentioned the reason for your overnighter. You were happy for it and yet, you couldn’t think of anything else.
“Jesus, I told him we were having breakfast and he’s blowing up my phone,” she huffed, “just a second.”
“Eve,” you said as she stood and slid her thumb across the screen, “our foods gonna be here--”
“I won’t be long,” she promised and lifted the speaker to her ear and turned away, “Ray, I’ll be over later, promise. I barely slept--”
Her voice trailed away as she wove between tables and pushed out onto the patio and went to the short fence to chat beyond the ears of diners. You sipped from your drink and stared down at the splintered curve of the table. You couldn’t stay with Eva forever and she was hardly any comfort in her distraction with her on-again, off-again dirt bag. Maybe, if you moved--
“There you are, sweetheart,” the low voice startled you and you sat stalk straight as a figure smoothly slid into Eva’s empty chair, “you gave me quite a scare, up and leaving without a word…”
You stared wide-eyed at the stranger across from you. Well, you knew who he was. Everyone in the city, in the country, even the world, knew Steve Rogers. He smiled at you as his blue eyes glimmered. His posture was cool and confident and it was you who felt out of place.
And you knew, it was him. The shock was not enough to fuel your denial as that feeling deep down assured you of it. That little voice that told you this was your tormentor and that you were fucked.
“I…” you breathed and blinked. You couldn’t find the words, you hardly understood the storm of emotions flowing through you. You glanced through the window as Eva threw her hand up and continued berating her phone, “it’s you?”
“I hate that it has to be this way,” he said, “you know, my work keeps me out of town so much and I just wish we had more time.”
“Wha…” you gulped and gripped the edge of the table, “why--?”
“You haven’t been answering me,” his smile fell, “I don’t like being ignored.”
Your hand shook and you kept it in your lap to hide the rising terror along your spine. You sat paralysed as he sighed and glanced around the restaurant. He tilted his head and pushed his shoulders back.
“You threw out my gift,” he said evenly, “that wasn’t very nice.”
“Go…” you uttered, “go, please--”
“Sweetheart, we’re just talking,” he took a gulp of Eva’s Americano casually, “I missed you… I miss you every day and it hurts that we have to be apart.”
Your shoulders slumped and you clutched your hands in fists on your lap. You could scream but what good would that do. He was Captain America, the first avenger, a hero.
As if your thoughts sent a banner waving, a young kid approached the table and smiled nervously as he held one of the colouring pages supplied by the restaurant in his hands.
“Um, Captain, uh, America,” the kid stuttered, “will you sign-- Will you sign my--?”
The kid smiled through tight lips and held up the colouring page. Instead, Steve chuckled and took his cap from his head and fished around in his pocket. He pulled out a sharpie and signed the brim and placed it back on the kid’s head.
“There you go,” he said.
“Thank you, Cap!” the kid almost squealed, “oh my gosh!”
“No problem,” Steve laughed and watched the kid run back to the table where his mother sat, she waved at the man across from you and mouthed a thanks. He cleared his throat and stood as he tucked away the marker, “sorry, this is why I didn’t wanna do this in public,” he gripped his hip with one hand, “but… we’ll have our time.” He slowly backed away, “I’ll text you. You’ll answer.”
He grinned one last time and strode away. He stopped before the door as he held it open for Eva and she batted her lashes at him as she gushed. You could guess at her star struck words but couldn’t make them out. He left as she finally stopped her babbling and she almost skipped over to you.
“Oh my god, did you see him?” she trilled, “I didn’t think he’d be even better looking in-person.”
“See who?” you asked dumbly as you tried to disguise your discomfort in your latte.
“Steve Rogers,” she announced, “ugh, even without your phone, you got your head in the ground.”

Are you in town? - Matthew Tkachuk (part 1)
part two here
part three here
word count: 1860 words
TW: language, angst (?)
let me know if you want part two, I’m somehow still not sure
...
Tumblr media
It was so hot that day. The movers were already gone, the place feeling empty without all the furniture. In a few hours, you'd be long gone, flying far away from Chesterfield.
Some small part of you felt sorry for selling your parents' house - the house you spent your whole childhood living in. But they moved out a few years ago and told you many times they didn't mind at all selling it.
Wiping the sweat off of your eyebrows you made your way through the blooming garden, trying to memorize every little detail. You remembered climbing this tree, you remembered the hole in the fence you made so the neighbour's dog could come play with you, you remembered the time capsule you and Matt buried here when you were fifteen.
Until now, you completely forgot about that. Even though you two didn't talk after he got drafted, it'd be a good idea to meet again since you might never see him again. You might be moving to Calgary but that city was so big it'd be a miracle to meet Matthew somewhere.
So you scrolled through your phone, praying he didn't change his number after all those years as you dialed it.
The phone rang twice before someone picked it up.
"Yes?"
Matthew's voice was so different since the last time you talked.
"Hey Matt, this is Y/N, I'm moving out today and I thought we could dig up the time capsule we buried at my place as kids before I leave. Are you in town?" It was off-season so you might get lucky.
"You are moving out already? But yeah, I can meet you in an hour if you have the time."
"Yes, I'll still be here, don't worry."
"Okay..." There was a moment of awkward silence, neither of you knew how to break it. Was it a bad idea? Of course you wouldn't be as good friends as you once were. But you didn't know it would be this... weird. He didn't say goodbye back when he left to Calgary and didn't answer to any of your calls or messages. What were you thinking? That he wanted to see you?
"So, where are you moving to?" Matt finally continued, making the conversation more bareable.
"Calgary, they offered me an amazing job there."
"Really? I've been there for a few years."
"I heard." Not from you, was what you didn't say. It seemed like he'd heard it nonetheless.
Silence. You hated how distant you've grown - once, a long time ago, you were best friends. You went together to kindergarden and since then you've been the best of best friends. But even after all you went through, you didn't know what to say.
"Nevermind, I have to get going. I'll be at your place at three, okay?"
"Okay. I'll meet you there."
As you hung up, sadness enveloped you. Maybe you shouldn't have called. Maybe it'd be better to never meet Matt again, to remember only the good old times.
But he might be already on his way and you wanted to say a proper goodbye before going far, far away.
You loved him once, you recalled. It broke your heart when he left without looking back.
It irritated you that you couldn't do the same as easily.
...
"Y/N?" a now familiar voice called, the sound of closing car doors echoing through the silent street.
Matt looked same as he did four years ago and still totally different. It was like staring at a stranger you could swear you've already seen before. The curly, those pretty grey-blue eyes and the crooked smile you remembered and thought about too often. He got taller and more mascular over the time he played hockey professionally.
"Hey," you said nervously, tucking your slightly trembling hands into the pockets of your shorts.
Again, that uncomfortable silence took place.
"How long is it?" Since you've last seen each other. Since he'd ignored your calls and messages. Since he'd left you crying as he left this town - as he left you.
"Five years," you said.
Regret flashed in those pretty eyes as he took you in. Did you look to him the same as you did the last time he saw you?
"I'm sorry I didn't call." That was it? After five fucking years of silence, this was his apology for everything. This was a mistake. You didn't think it through when you called him today. Just now you started remembering all the things he's done to you.
"That doesn't make it hurt less, does it?" You whipped around, going to the line of fruit trees where you left the two shovels you borrowed from the neighbour.
Matt's hand slightly gripped your elbow, stopping you in your tracks.
"I know that I made a bunch of wrong decisions before I left."
"I've been trying for 6 months to reach you before giving up completely. And you? You've been living the best version of your life anyone could ever imagine."
"That's not true and you know it." Matthew said and you wanted to leave right then, forget this stupid meeting.
"I do not." you hissed, trying to calm down your rising temper.
Matt sighed, not wanting to argue over this. So he made his way to the tree line, picked one shovel from the ground and started digging where he remembered the time capsule was.
You didn't help him dig it up. You were too lost in memories, clinging to the past as you thought of younger version of Matt.
The clang of metal on metal attracted your attention back to him. He grunted as he pulled up the metal box and laid it on the grass.
You ducked low next to him, dusting off the dirt of the box. It was an old, weirdly dented thing.  Your eyes laid on the lock and you nearly sighed in annoyance just when Matt grabbed at his necklace, the key dangling from it. When you two buried the capsule, each of you got a key made for it. You had yours somewhere in the boxes that had already been shipped to your new apartment and Matt's... he didn't forget. He kept it through the years, guarding it and not losing it as you expected.
You didn't say anything, just patiently waited for him to open the box.
There was a letter inside, along with a bunch of things you thought of as long forgotten. Your bracelets of friendship, the colors faded already; a puck with which you and Matthew played your first hockey game together when you were six; so many polaroid photos with your faces on them; USB with a playlist you two always danced to.
Your eyes watered - how were you supposed to say goodbye to all of this?
Silently, you looked over all of the photos - you and Matt in the rink with small hockey sticks and skates, you and Matt sticking out your tongues colored blue with slushies, you and Matt, you and Matt, you and Matt...
Then Matthew's hand found yours, your fingers automatically intertwining with his. You started crying, first silently but then the sobs shook with your whole body.
"Come here," he murmured, hugging you. His body was so soft and warm, as if begging you to lean into his touch.
"How- how could you leave this all behind?" you mumbled between the sobs.
"It's not leaving if you don't say goodbye." Matt said, his fingers playing with yours.
"Then you are a fucking coward, Matthew."
Silence. He didn't argue with you on that, so you must have been right.
You stopped crying after a while, checking your watch while wiping your nose.
Shit. It was so late already - you had to call an uber to get you to the airport in the next hour or you'd be super late.
"I'll have to go," you said quietly, but Matt interrupted you.
"You are right," he tucked on the edge of his shirt, clearly nervous. He was nervous. "I was a coward. I thought that if I didn't say goodbye to you as I left, it'd hurt less. I was wrong and I was a fucking coward for not picking up your calls or replying to your messages because it would make it so real - that I was leaving and probably never coming back. But I want to make it all right again, I want to be a part of your life - if you will let me."
You thought about his offer and still, you couldn't answer. You weren't sure about letting him into your heart just for him to storm out again without a goodbye, leaving you behind, broken.
"Can I at least take you to the airport?" To that, you nodded, picking up the time capsule, putting all the items back in. Then you gave back the lent shovels to your neighbour and with a last glance at your house, you got into Matt's car.
...
On the way to the airport Matt played the playlist from the USB that was in the time capsule and the nostalgy hit you hard.
You remembered the lyrics, the melody; you remembered everything.
The drive was too short and you started panicking as the engine stopped.
Matthew helped you with your suitcase and went inside with you. The two of you stopped at the first gate.
"Here," he said, giving you a piece of paper. "It's my adress. Hopefully, you won't live so far away, so we could meet there if you wanted to."
You tucked it in your pocket without a word.
"Also, take this. I wrote it in ninth grade so don't think much of it. But I want you to read it, Y/N."
It was the letter from the time capsule, with your name on the blank envelope.
"I will." you promised.
The silence that followed wasn't awkward this time.
"I'll let you know my decision about what you said earlier. I just... I need some time."
Matt noded, giving you the space you so desperately needed.
"So, until we meet again - goodbye, Y/N."
"Goodbye, Matt."
...
The plane took off and you finally had the time to read the letter he gave you.
You immediately recognised his scrambled handwriting and you smiled at how messy it was before you started reading.
Dear Y/N,
I'm writing this in case I leave. Dad has been telling me for some time already that if I'll get drafted, I'll have to leave. He also said that if I'll be smart, I will never look back at my past.
I don't want you to be my past. I want you to be my present and my future.
He said I'll meet a lot of girls but I know that none of them is going to be like you.
So, I promise you, I will never say goodbye to you.
I love you,
Matt
With trembling fingers, you pulled out your phone, the tears already staining the screen.
That's why he never said goodbye. Because of this stupid letter and his stupid promise.
The phone rang once before he picked it up.
"Y/N? What is it?"
A ragged breath escaped you and you laughed and cried at the same time.
"I don't want you to be my past. I want you to be my present and my future."
"Oh, that was cheesy, wasn't it-"
"No, you dumbass. That's my answer."

Going shopping with naoya would usually be considered a task close to impossible. The constant nagging and snarky comments made you want to strangle him on multiple occasions, yet you somehow held yourself back to avoid unnecessary drama with the higher ups. After 5 unbearable months of living with him due to an arranged marriage you had found various methods of shutting that pretty mouth of his. Your favourite method including the help of your trusty friend, a vibrating cock ring.
He knew that if he opened his mouth to remark on your choice of clothing a shaky moan would follow. There is nothing more he hated than being looked down on, the fear of people glancing in his direction with a disgusted look convincing him to just stay quiet.
“I have been invited to a social event with the Zenins. I will take you shopping for a dress today so you can look half decent.” Ignoring the spiteful remark you responded.
“Okay, on the condition you wear the cock ring.” An audible scoff followed. He turned his heels to walk towards the kitchen. Filling up the portafilter with coffee grinds he let out a soft ‘fine’, refusing to let his eyes meet yours. You held back a laugh by biting down on your cheeks.
“I’m starting to think you enjoy this…” you breathed out. “I’m only doing this because I know you’ll be a complete bitch to me if I don’t.” Humming in agreement you inhaled the nutty aroma coming from the coffee machine. While frothing the milk with one hand he used the other to place two mugs down onto the drip tray.
“Get a dress that hugs your figure and flaunts your tits. I want to show you off to the bastards I have to call relatives.” He places down a mug of coffee with a marshmallow next to it, just the way you like it.
You sunk the marshmallow into the coffee while continuing small talk with him.
“You’re an asshole.” He whined, groaning at the feeling of the vibrations on his cock. You let out a small chuckle knowing he’s all bark and no bite. You played around with the settings of the cock ring before settling for a low vibration that would be sure to give him some sort of attention but not enough attention to chase his sweet release.
“I will get you back for this shitty stunt, whore.” He snarled yet his words only fueled you to torture him more. With a hum leaving your lips you pulled his boxers and hakama pants up, hearing a groan come from him in response.
“You’re lucky the pants cover your erection.”
The car ride felt like hours, if not days, to the blonde man. Shaky moans fled through gritted teeth while his nails dug into the steering wheel. Your eyes were glued to his face. The way his nose scrunched when the vibrations increased was for some reason incredibly entertaining to you. When the car came to a halt in the store’s parking lot you groaned. You were having fun messing with him.
“Does this ‘flaunt my tits’, Naoya?” You said in a mocking tone while twirling in an emerald green mermaid dress that had a deep v-neck travelling down to your abdomen. All he gave you was a curt nod and a groan when his eyes focused down to your chest. You changed back into your clothes and gave the dress to naoya.
“Pay for this, I want to look around still.” He rolled his eyes and turned his body towards the cashier. The way his legs trembled from the cock ring was incredibly entertaining for you. Rather than paying attention to the dress hung up on the clothes rack your gaze landed on the way his hips twitched to find some form of friction. Your hands snuck into your pockets where the remote was being held. Without warning him, your fingers turned the dial to the maximum setting only to swiftly spin it back to the lowest setting. If he hadn’t been holding onto the cash register counter he would have fallen from the shock. A very loud moan escaped his lips as he shot an unpleasant glare in your direction.
“Sir, are you okay?” Concern was laced in the cashier’s voice. Naoya responded with a quick ‘yeah’ while giving some pathetic excuse for his accidental noises. After he had paid for the dress he grabbed at your arm. You let out a pained gasp “Ow! what the fuck, Naoya!”
His clutch on your shoulder only became harder after hearing your aggravation. The second his car door closed was the second a desperate moan left his lips.
“You’re such a bitch for doing that to me. Do you not understand your place, woman?” His shaky breathes made it difficult for you to focus on what he was saying. He looked so much better when he was malleable and timid.
He avoided any conversation with you the entire trip home, occasionally letting out a pained groan from the still vibrating cock ring. Your husband was obviously pissed off at you yet you found it difficult to care; especially when his face looked so fucked-out.
The way he angrily stormed into the house was a sight to see. If it hadn’t been for the painful grip on your arm you would’ve laughed. “I hope you’re ready to be punished. Because I’m not holding back.” His words sounded as if they were growled, a weak attempt to intimidate you. Your hands shifted down to your pockets.
“Don’t you dare-!” His words were cut short by not-so-subtle whimpers and moans. Your fingers turned the dial randomly and without a rhythm, driving him mad. Various curses left his mouth like venom.
“I’m starting to think you talk big just to get your brains fucked out. Tell me, my little slut, is that true?” If he wasn’t already busy palming himself through his pants he probably would have replied with a snarky comeback. You clicked your tongue in annoyance, “Get your pathetic hands off your cock. Do you have any manners?” He gritted his teeth and halted his movements.
“Good puppy. Maybe if you’re good I’ll let you cum.” The smile on your face was far from sincere and he knew that. It was ridiculing- degrading even. The only thing keeping him grounded was his back pressed roughly against the wall. His nose scrunched as the sound of your footsteps came closer. You reached your hand out to touch his cheek. He was such a waste of a pretty face, a shame really.
Naoya’s footsteps followed behind yours as you both walked towards the bedroom. Pushing him down across the end of the bed, you spread his legs to get between them. With your face centimetres from his cock you began to unzip his pants showing you the outline of his erection against his boxers. Your fingers looped against the elastic, letting it tug backwards. A wince left his lips as you let the band snap back against his skin. Finally indulging in his desires you pulled down the material, letting his cock out. A soft ‘please’ left his mouth when you began stroking him.
A sardonic smirk plastered your face. “Be patient, you whore.” You earned a weak excuse for a glare in response. You soon realised that it wasn’t just the cock ring that was vibrating.
“Naoya, your phone.” Letting out a disappointed sigh, you bagan to take the toy off his cock. He mimicked your expression when he saw the contact name.
“Naoya Zenin speaking, what are you calling me for?” An irritated grimace followed his words. Awkwardly, you stayed between his legs not really knowing what to do. You looked between his thighs to notice his dick was still painfully hard despite needing to take a job call.
“Do you get off to the thought of being caught acting like a slut?” A look of fret and arousal shot through his eyes when he heard your words. Your hand started to stroke the bottom of his shaft while you pressed your tongue against the slit on the head. His jaw was clamped shut as his Adam’s Apple involuntarily trembled.
“Sorry, slight migraine. Could you repeat what you said?” He uttered trying to excuse his moans. “That’s fine, sir. I was explaining how…” The man on the phone once again went into detail on his previous statement yet what he told was the farthest thing on Naoya’s mind. Your tongue traced the vein along the underside of his cock before ever-so-slowly letting it sink into your mouth. When the head hit the back of your throat you gave a harsh suck before rising your head again. You knew he hates a slow pace so that’s exactly what you gave him.
“Thank you for your time, sir. It’s greatly appreciated.” Naoya hummed in response and let out a quick ‘yeah’ before hanging up the call. “You whore! Do you know what you’ve done?” You gave a hum that only sent more vibrations to his dick. His hands tangled themselves into your hair. Eventually you began to notice the way his twitches became more frequent and the way his breath hitched. An anguished groan fell from his lips when you lifted your head from his cock, denying him of his release. “What the fuck? Make me cum.” You let out a sadistic giggle. “Nuh-uh. I wanna play, bunny.” You could almost see the steam coming from his ears and to be quite frank, you found it hilarious. Standing onto your feet you walked yourself over to your wardrobe.
“What do you think of trying this one out?” You presented a rather large dildo. “Will that even fit?” His nervous eyes scanned the 8 inches of silicone. “You always manage to make it fit, slut.” You strutted back towards the middle of his thighs while lathering the dildo in lube.
“Hands and knees.” Without hesitation he flipped himself over onto his stomach and raised his ass in the air.
“You’re such a whore.” Your tone sounded like sweet candy in contrast to your words. After you had strapped the harness to yourself you attached the dildo onto it. Aligning yourself against his ass you slowly sunk the strap-on into him. Placing one hand on his hips and the other hand on the mattress beside his head, you leaned onto his back. Starting a very slow pace you began to suck love bites against his shoulder blades. His lips were trembling against the mattress, occasionally letting out soft whimpers whenever you moved a bit too harshly. Using your strong grip on his hips you dragged your hips back until only the tip of the dildo was in his ass. A pleasured scream flooded from his mouth when your hips slammed against his.
“Dumb bitch can’t keep his mouth shut? Do I have to fucking gag you?” Tear stained cheeks struggled to shake left to right, begging you to let him stay in this position. “Fine.” You quickened your place, digging your nails into his skin in the process. You moved your other hand from the mattress to the back of his neck, securing him to the bed as you continued your fast and hard thrusts. His breath hiked as he felt his release creeping up on him. “Please… Touch my cock.” Your chortle was sadistic yet it somehow made his cock twitch. “Oh, but puppy… I wanna see you come undone without being touched.” A choked sob left his lips. His hips began to move against yours as he tried to fuck himself against the strap-on. You let out a disgusted sigh. “Needy whore.” And with that he felt himself going over the edge. You rode him through his orgasm while leaving his cock untouched.
It was almost cute how pathetic he acted for you. Cum saturating the mattress with his head still pushed against the pillow. It took a few seconds for him to snap back into reality and when he did a growl escaped his lips.
“You can get rid of it now.” His face was turned, eyes glaring back at yours. You slowly pulled your hips back, admiring the crescent indents marking his hips. His asshole tightened around the bigger tip of the dildo and when you noticed you couldn’t help but unexpectedly thrust back in. A startled moan left his mouth and when he realised his loud noise, he bit down harshly against his lower lip.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Dildo fully inside him you responded with “having fun.”
Your hands reached to the edge of the bed frame, grabbing onto the vibrating cock ring. You tossed his body over so his back was against the mattress. Your fingers traced against the prominent vein on his overstimulated cock. The cock ring slid back onto his dick, making him once again vulnerable for you. The rhythm of your thrusts was relentless, only giving him time to let out soft whimpers covered by his palm. His face looked dazed with his eyes half lidded in ecstasy and his cheeks decorated with an obvious blush.
At that moment Naoya’s thighs began to quiver. “Gonna cum again? Greedy slut.” His hips bucked up against the strap-on, meeting your forceful thrusts. With a broken moan of your name he came on the mattress.
“You did well, my husband.” Slowly, you pulled out the dildo from his used ass. He winced slightly at the feeling of the tip stretching his rim. Turning onto his back, he moved his eyes to look at your figure. In his eyes you were a goddess who, for some odd reason, decided to put up with his bullshit. His eyes lowered to stare at your ass as you left the room. When you came back he noticed that you had detached the strap-on and had a towel in your hand to clean him up with.
No woman but you could make his heart flutter this much.

Kinktober Day 23: Overstimulation (The Euphoria Bot)
Tumblr media
Day 23: Overstimulation Title: The Euphoria Bot Pairing: Hastume x Reader x Robot Word Count: 2.2k Warnings: Noncon, dubcon, overstimulation, robot sex, face sitting, sexual punishment, forced orgasms, yandere Note: Hngg, one more day down. I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I really had fun with this idea, so I hope everyone enjoys! Also thank you to @pleasantanathema for reading through this and coming up with Euphoria Bot when my brain was crashing over robot names!
Edit: My 3AM delirium brain also forgot to credit @hisoknen who I talked over the robot idea with, and she is the one who mentioned Mei and one of her inventions would be a good fit. I’m sorry Raph, ILY.
Kinktober Masterlist
Tumblr media
You really shouldn’t do what you’re about to do. You know this, and yet you’re still so curious. Your girlfriend Mei never leaves you alone in her lab, and it would look terrible if you betrayed her trust the very first time she does by poking at one of her precious babies.
But you can’t seem to stop yourself from walking towards the fancy looking robot in the corner. It’s the same size and shape as a large human, maybe about 6’5.” There are strange little pads on each finger with grooves and ridges, and a few compartments along the body of the robot that seem like they should open up. There are so many dials and display screens that you can’t even begin to tell what each one does.
Except for the big red “on” button.
This is a terrible idea, you try to convince yourself. You shouldn’t press the button on a machine that Mei made without knowing what it does. Especially one that is apparently in the defective pile and no way of knowing why it’s there.
You press the button.
The robot comes online with a few whirring and beeping noises. You wait a few seconds, almost expecting it to randomly explode like some of Mei’s other inventions. Instead, it stands at attention and greets you.
“Hello, I am Euphoria Bot. How may I serve you today?” The robot greets you in a professional tone.
You’re completely taken aback, simply standing there with your mouth hung open, unable to think of a single thing to say.
“I am here to serve you.” The robot repeats, still standing at attention as if waiting on something.
“Serve how?” You’re finally able to respond, a bit of the shock having faded.
“I exist to provide pleasure to mortals. Verbally consent and I will demonstrate.”
“I consent,” the words fall from your lips without any thought, sheer curiosity overtaking you. But you are certainly not expecting the robot to scoop you up in its metallic arms and push you down on the floor.
“Wait - what do you think you’re doing?”
“I will provide you with pleasure,” the robot says as it begins to work at your clothes. Fear crawls up your spine at the strength the robot must have when it rips even your jeans into two pieces.
“Wait, I didn’t know this was what I was - ahh, stop that!” Your sentence ends in a choked gasp when a ridged finger comes to rest on your clit. There is a clicking noise, and then the fingertip turns on, vibrating against you and sending waves of pleasure into your core. The cold of the metal contrasting with the heat of your skin has you shivering.
You find yourself coming undone embarrassingly fast, stomach tightening as the robot presses the ridges down along your clit as it continues to vibrate. “Shit, too sensitive, stop!” You try to pull away, but the robot only holds you down and increases the vibrations. “God, stop it’s too much,” you whine as you try to squirm away, but the robot’s grip is ironclad.
“I will provide you with pleasure,” the robot repeats, and a sliver of fear crawls up your spine as you begin to suspect why this robot is defective. The vibrations increase even further, and you whine from deep in your throat as you see stars behind your eyes. A strange feeling is coming over you, making you feel like you have to pee.
One firm rub of the notches on the robot’s finger has you squealing out your orgasm, clear liquid gushing out of you and onto the robot’s legs and ground. “Fuck, oh god,” you pant as you quiver in its’ arms. “Okay, okay, that’s good, you’ve provided pleasure, turn it off, please - “
“Will you not allow me to provide you any more pleasure?”
“No, no more pleasure, I withdraw my consent.” Maybe if you state it officially, the robot will finally listen.
“I understand.”
You breathe a sigh of relief as the robot releases you, standing up and moving back to where it was when you turned it on. But that relief quickly turns into horror when you see what it comes back with.
Handcuffs and a spreader bar.
You jump up on wobbly legs as you try to get away, but the robot is too fast, grabbing you with one arm and forcing you back down on the ground. “My directive is to provide pleasure,” the robot repeats, and the phrase makes you want to scream in frustration. “If you no longer consent, then I may override you to complete my directive.”
And with that, your hands are handcuffed behind your back, legs forced open as the spreader bar is placed in between so that you can’t close them, leaving your dripping pussy exposed for the robot to do whatever it wants with.
Two cold metal fingers rest against your throbbing clit as the vibrations start again, and your eyes roll to the back of your head at the blinding pleasure. “Fuck fuck fuck,” you babble as you feel another finger prodding at your entrance, gathering up your juices before it pushes inside of you.
The robot’s finger is thick, but you’re so wet that it’s not uncomfortable as it slides in. Until you feel another finger pressing against the first one. Your walls are forced to stretch open until they graze your cervix, the sting causing you to wince.
And then the vibrations start from within you, and you can’t think about the pain anymore. The robot rubs your clit in tight circles, the rough texture at the tips only increasing your pleasure. You’re already right at the edge of another orgasm, and when the robot curls its fingers up against your g-spot, you’re gone, pussy clamping down as more liquid squirts out of you.
The robot removes its fingers from your pulsing pussy, and you begin to hope that maybe this is finally over. That is, until it presses a button on the front and you watch a compartment open. A massive cock emerges, with more of those ridges along its length. It’s so thick, thicker than anything you’ve ever taken before.
“That won’t fit inside of me, it won’t, please stop - “ You beg and plead, but you know your begging is fruitless when the robot repeats that same damnable phrase that has you internally screaming.
“I will provide you with more pleasure.”
It lines itself up with your pussy and begins to push inside. Your legs are trembling, sweat beading along your forehead as you try to close your legs, but the spreader bar prevents you from doing anything to keep the robot from going in deeper. You’re dripping from your previous orgasms, but the fit is still so tight as the unyielding metal forces the tight ring of muscles at your entrance to stretch.
“Fuck no, god fuck, stop, it hurts,” you whimper and plead, but the robot continues to slip inch by inch into you until finally it bottoms out. The robot ignores your begging, giving you only a second to adjust before it begins to thrust. The force of it has you being pushed back, only held in place by a firm grasp. Your breasts bounce with every movement, something that is apparently noticed as fingers come up to work your nipples into hardness.
You already feel the waves of pleasure rising up, your pussy clamping down on the hard metal buried deep inside of you. The robot must sense it too, because suddenly you feel vibration shoot through the robot’s cock, pressing against that sensitive spot inside of you and wringing another orgasm from your tired body.
“No, god, fuck I can’t cum again, please,” your begging falls on defective ears as the robot grips your hips with one hand and begins to pound into you as another finger comes to rest on your clit. Your vision blurs and turns black around the edges as you cum again, the pleasure borderline painful at this point. More liquid gushes out from your aching pussy and coats the ground beneath you. Even the robot’s metal frame is covered in your juices.
“No more pleasure, please stop!”
“I have not fulfilled my directive,” the robot repeats as all of the vibration increases at once. You scream through your orgasm, finally descending into complete darkness as you pass out.
You don’t know how long you’re out, only that when your eyes flutter open, the nightmare still hasn’t ended. It’s still on top of you, thrusting away inside of your sore, aching pussy. You almost wonder how it still has the stamina before horror dawns on you. It’s a robot, and robots don’t need rest.
But before you can panic over how long this might continue, you notice something different as your eyes are drawn to the side.
Your girlfriend Mei is sitting in a chair beside you, watching you get utterly ravaged by her baby. But instead of looking concerned or worried, she looks positively thrilled.
“Mei, please help me,” you whisper weakly, eyes shutting as you twitch through another orgasm. “I can’t make it stop.”
“Snooping through my workshop and touching my babies without me? How could you?” The redhead’s voice isn’t angry though, taking on the usual cheerful tone. “I can’t be mad though. I’ve never gotten to test it out like this!”
Test it out? Your brain is sluggish as you try to work through her meaning. “Test it? You have to help me - shit, nooo,” your voice takes on a panicked tone as your stomach tightens again, a sure sign of another impending orgasm.
“You’re going to help me first!” She giggles a bit as she stands up, pulling her pants and panties off as she tosses them to the side. “You take care of me, and I’ll help you out! How does that sound?” She straddles you, facing the robot as she lowers herself down, taking two fingers and spreading herself open as she rubs her pussy along your face. “You know what to do!”
You desperately want to refuse but you know how Mei can be when she’s testing her precious babies. Your best shot at ending this is to do as she says, so your tongue pokes out from your mouth as you lick along her slit. She sits further down, reaching behind her to grip your hair and force you harder against her pussy. You begin to lick and suck along her folds, brushing by her clit but not applying any pressure.
You’re rewarded with a frustrated whine from Mei when you continue to not give her the stimulation you need, and despite the situation, you smile at how needy she is. You finally work her clit into your mouth as you gently suck on the swollen bead.
You let out a loud moan of both pain and pleasure against her heated skin as the robot thrusting inside of you pushes against your g-spot, sending waves of another orgasm through your body. Your vision blurs again, but you shake it off as you begin to devour Mei’s pussy like a starving woman.
You suck hard on her throbbing clit, and are rewarded with a loud moan as she begins to ride your face. “Yes, yes, yes, just like that,” she chants as she grinds down, cutting off some of your breathing. You feel her juices dripping down onto your face as she cums with one final suck of her clit.
She lifts herself up, allowing you to take deep gasping breaths of oxygen. “You did so well,” she says, voice slightly breathless as she comes down from her orgasm.
“Now please make it stop” you whisper weakly, body convulsing as you’re forced through yet another orgasm. You don’t even know how you’re still able to with your pussy so sore and your clit practically numb from the extreme vibrations still running through your body.
“I don’t know, do you think you’ve learned your lesson yet?” Mei giggles a bit as your eyes widen in horror, head shaking side by side frantically until you’re forced to stop when dizziness overtakes you.
“I’ve learned my lesson, please! Please, oh god please make it stop,” you plead with her desperately, panting as your eyes roll back into your head as you squirm from yet another orgasm. “I’m sorry Mei, please!”
“Oh alright,” Mei lets out a soft huff of breath as she stands up. She reaches around to the back of the robot towards a button that you couldn’t have reached even if you wanted to. You breathe a sigh of relief at this nightmare finally being over which quickly turns to concern when you see how long Mei is taking.
“Actually, I just realized something,” she stops just inches away from what must be the off button and grins at you before pressing several other buttons. “I don’t think we should stop yet!”
You see another compartment open up right under the first one, and a cock the exact size of the one still pumping inside of you emerges. Your eyes widen in horror as you watch the second cock line up with your ass.
Mei giggles at your expression, clapping her hands together and practically bouncing in place. “After all, this is valuable testing of my precious baby’s new features!”

“Go to hell, y/n!” I shut my eyes tightly as something hit my back hardly when my step sister started throwing things towards me.
I just turned 18 and now they’re trying to kick me out of from the house my Dad had left us. Well, my Mom died when I was just 9 years old. My father got so lonely because of her and he thought I was feeling the same way so he decided to re-marry.
He married my Step-mother four years ago. She have one daughter and they weren’t that nice to me. She just treat me nicely whenever my Dad is around, and now that he left me too. I have nobody else beside me. I’m all alone.
I cried silently as I tried picking up my things that were now scattered all over the floor. My step-mother starred down right at me with no sympathy. Beside her was my step-sister whose smirking widely while watching me suffer. I bet they’ve waited long for this to happen, to get rid of me.
After getting all of my stuff, I started walking directionless. Like a lifeless human, I was walking mindlessly. I don’t know where to go or even what to do. It will be night soon and I don’t think it will be too nice for a young girl to be all alone out here.
I gulped and quickly search for my phone. Delighted to see that there was still a little battery left, I gulped dialing someone.
“Who’s this?” I gulped feeling thrilled that she actually picked up.
“It’s me y/n.” I bit my lower lip and I heard her heavy sigh right away.
We weren’t close and maybe she’s even annoyed that I gave her a ring but I don’t have anyone else to call. My hand automatically made its way over to my lips as I started biting my fingernails.
“Why did you call me?”
“U-Uhh.. I don’t have anywhere else to go. My step mother kicked me out and--”
“And you’re calling me right now because? Hey, not because i’m the class president you're allowed to do this.” she sounded so sarcastic and annoyed at the same time.
You were silent for a while. You can’t fully blame her, to be called out of nowhere by someone you’re not close with will definitely weird and creepy. Not to mention that you’re one of the most bullied students in your class.
“Can you p-please help me out? Just this o-once. I just don’t know what to do anymore.” you’re mind are all messed up. No thoughts at all, the fact that you’ve been kicked out from the house where you spent your whole life with was still not sinking in to you.
Your eyes can’t even produce any tears at the moment. You feel like you’ve been crying too much that you actually got tired of it.
A sigh from the other line was heard and it pulled you back to reality, “What do you need?”
“C-Can I stay with you? Even in just a few--”
“What? No way! Don’t you have anyone else?” she sounded more irritated. Feeling more anxious about it, you gulped.
“I have nobody else.” you’re voice sounded so low and lifeless. Having nothing else to push you to live anymore, your last resort was to just take your own life.
“Ugh, why do you have to be a sore loser?” you bit your lower lip trying to ignore her rude comment. You have no one else who can take you in for a few days while you look for a job.
“Fine. Just go here.” and she dropped the call right away.
A small smile actually spreads through your face as you headed towards her apartment. Finally feeling like you’re starting to make a change in your life, you plot some plans inside your head. Things you need to do in order to live a better life.
As you arrive at her place, you knocked and waited patiently for her to open the door for you. With an unpleased look, she faced you and lets you inside.
She didn’t even ask if you’re okay or anything. Despite the bruises all over your body, she ignored it and just guided you to a vacant room. It was dusty and unorganized but you can’t complain. You should even be grateful she lets you be here for a few days.
“3-4 days maximum.” she reminded you before going out of the room.
You nodded your head even after she left and roamed your eyes around. Letting out a heavy sigh, you started arranging things so you can fix the bed and maybe get ready for sleep. You can feel your stomach grumbling out of hunger but you ignored it completely. You have no money to buy any food and you don’t want to trouble your class president for food as well. It would be too much hindrance for her.
You slept with an empty stomach that night so when you woke up the next day, you kind of don’t have any strength. When you went out, you saw a note over at the table saying she left some food and some spare keys.
Feeling thankful about it, you had breakfast and made sure you’ll thank her later on. When you arrived school, your step-sister was already there smirking at you. You tried hard avoiding her and just straightly went to your seat at the back.
The students around were starring at you for a bit while and even whispering with each other. Seems like your step-sister had announced at the whole class that you’ve been kicked out from your house. You were wondering what kind of false rumors did she create this time.
“It’s Jake!” your head snapped right over at the door when the girls inside your class got so excited about someone.
Jake Sim. Your eyes settled at the handsome boy who entered the class smiling. He was really attractive and almost the whole class likes him, including your step-sister. She was crazy for him.
You can’t blame her since he was really gorgeous. He’s nice too, always wearing a smile and kind to everybody. But theres just one thing that you’ve noticed with him. His eyes looked dead sometimes. Like even if he’s smiling, his eyes were lifeless.
You jolted a bit when both of your eyes met each other. With light red tinted over your face, you quickly looked away. This isn’t the right time to have a crush on somebody, y/n! You’ve got to find a job first.
After the bell rang, indicating that the class had finished, you hurried yourself out avoiding students. You’re determined to go and look for a job to support your needs.
The whole time remaining, you just tried looking for a job but no luck. You went back disappointed and trying hard to convince yourself that you can try and find for another one tomorrow.
The next days were just the same for you. It was no luck, you feel like you’re step-mother were starting to meddle with it as well. And also, lately, you’ve noticed Jake’s stares over at you during classes. He never done that before, but it was often these past two days. You don’t want to sound assuming or anything but that’s just how you noticed it.
The third day of hunting for a job, it was also a failure. With a heavy heart you trailed over at the quiet street of your town. It was 9pm, almost 10. Less people can be seen outside. After some rumors about the missing persons, people in your town started to be more careful.
Your feet brought you over a bridge. You starred right over at it mindlessly. Mind completely blank with thoughts, your mind wondered over those timed when you’re still happy. When you’re Mom was still there, back when you still have someone to lean on.
For the first time in days, you felt your eyes teared up. The image of your Mom that were always so clear for you flashed back right in your mind. Her comforting smile and warm hugs, you sure miss them the most. You cried silently while walking towards the edge of the bridge. You starred right down, it was the cold river.
With eyes full of tears, you roamed them around trying to check if somebody else was there. You wiped off your tears and started climbing over it. You have no will to live anymore so you just decided to take your own life.
Trembling a bit while standing at the other side of the bridge, you starred right down beneath you. The water looked so cold and dark. Feels like you’ll die right away once you jumped down.
Having just both of your two hands and the little space your stepping on as the only things that keeping you alive, you started battling with your own mind. Being completely confused, tired and lifeless, you really wanted to jump off.
“What are you doing?” your eyes snapped open and looked over at your right.
You gulped, eyes grew a bit at the sight of somebody in front of you. He was starring right at your eyes and you saw how cold his eyes were again.
“What are you doing here?” you asked him back emphasizing the you at him. Jake pursed his shoulders and even leaned over at the railings of the bridge beside you.
He’s acting like as if you were not at the other side and life’s in danger.
“Taking a stroll.” he casually answered.
“At this time?” you asked doubting him.
He smiled a little after nodding his head at you, “How about you? What are you doing? Are you gonna jump off?” he asked and starred down over the river.
You gulped, “N-Nothing.” if anything, you don’t want to cause trouble to anybody else.
He chuckled lightly, “Doesn’t seem like nothing to me.” he tilted his head then eyed you back.
“You’re planning to kill yourself, aren’t ya?” he asked, his accent popping a bit. You gulped, guilty. You were silent because one, he knows. Two, he still look gorgeous even if it’s dark already. The only light you guys have was the one from the bright moon.
“I don’t have any will to live in this cruel world.” your voice were low. The wind blew right towards at both you but you saw how he starred right over at your eyes.
There was a moment of silence before he lets out a sigh, “This world sure is cruel.” he agreed.
For the first time, somebody agreed with you. A small smile appeared over at your lips as you felt your heart races a bit. You don’t know if he’s really agreeing with you or he’s just really kind. Because honestly, there's nothing you can think of a reason why he’ll think this world is cruel for him. It seems like he already have everything and that his life was perfect.
“But if you live in it in a different way, it’ll change.” he muttered meaningful and he starred right at you once again, eyes piercing.
Your brows furrowed in confusion. You don’t get what he just said but even before you can ask him, he pulled out something from behind. It was tumblr?
He handed it over at you with a sweet smile. “What is this?” you asked, one hand holding over at the railing as the other accepted what he handed over. The space that you’re stepping over was enough to keep you steady but you're still holding on over at the steel railing.
“Wine. Might as well have some of that before dying right?” he smirked right at you.
Wondering a bit because of what he just said you looked at him with full confusion, he chuckled opening the lid for you.
“If you drink that, I won’t say any word about what I saw today.” he said smiling at you.
Biting your lower lip, you decided to do what he just said. Taking a sip, you groaned a bit finding it a bit strange. Having your eyes shut, you didn’t notice how Jake’s eyes turned red out of excitement just by looking at you drinking what he just gave you.
“Do as you promised.” you said after putting the almost empty bottle over at the railing.
You wiped over the corner of your lips and saw the familiar red color of wine. After having a sip from that drink, you kind of became more brave to do what you just planned moments ago.
Jake stood just beside you from the other side of the bridge. He watch how sorrow took over your eyes, tears streaming over your eyes. He hates it. All of it. He hates how people were so cruel to you, how you punish yourself from it and how you still try to keep a smile even after being treated badly by this world.
His face turned serious as he watch you slowly let go from the railing, body falling right over the cold river. He starred over as your body collided at the surface of the water.
He was sure it would take your life. A loss from the human world and a gain to his. With a smirk, he put his hands inside his pocket as he heads down over the river.
He roamed his eyes that quickly turned red and went over the water to go look for your body. He found you pretty much faster than expected, your face was full of bruises and probably broken bones. He gently placed his fingers over at your wrist to check your pulse.
He pulled you out and carried you bridal style, slowly he lets your body over the grass beside the cold river. The silent night even made it more colder but it doesn’t matter because Jake wasn’t even a living person so the cold is nothing to him anymore.
Jake’s eyes turned red as his fangs slowly showed as he leaned closer. A smirk spread right into his face as he felt no heartbeat coming from you. This world had lost you but now he have you for him, all for him.
Jake buried his fangs over your neck and drink from your blood, making all over his veins get too excited.
He leaned away starring right over at your unconscious body. He smirked, wiping off some blood dripping out from his mouth, “You’re gonna be with me forever, y/n.”
Tumblr media
Your eyelids felt a little heavy as you open them slowly. An unfamiliar ceiling greeted you that made you furrowed your brows a little. You were confused where you were so you stood up.
You roamed your eyes around at the place. It looked elegant and cozy at the same time. Head aching a bit, your hand rested over at your temple as you try to remember the previous things that happened that can help you to know where you are.
Your eyes quickly snapped open when you remember yourself jumping off from the bridge. You starred right over your arms and you saw them completely fine, both of your legs were fine as well. There's no trace of signs that you’ve committed suicide.
It was so strange because you were so sure that you jumped off. Feeling completely confused, you ran your hands over at your hair and to your surprised, they grew a bit longer. Your eyes then notice how more pale you became.
“I see you’re awake now.” your head snapped over at the corner when you heard somebody talked.
“J-Jake?” you muttered his name.
He smiled sweetly at you. To your surprised it didn’t look so lifeless anymore. It looked livelier for some reason.
Oh right! Jake was there too! He watched you jumped off the bridge. Is he the one who saved you?
He slowly walked closer to you and sat down over at the edge of the bed. You looked at him, a lot of questions were already inside your mind.
“Let me see your eyes,” his voice sound so calm. You furrowed your brows as he leaned closer.
You felt this tingling inside your stomach as he smiled in satisfaction in front of you, “Beautiful.” he mumbled that made you flustered.
Did he just said beautiful?
“Do you feel hungry?” he asked like it's just normal for you to be here inside wherever this is.
“Did you save me?”
He starred at your eyes and he smiled. “You jumped, remember?”
You nodded your head because that’s clearly what you remembered. He nodded as well as he looked over your arms then back over at your face.
“Do you know anyone who lived right after trying to jump off from that bridge?”
You pursed your lips and shake your head no. In the cases you’ve known from your town, nobody ever lived after jumping off. So... why?
“Then... how?” you looked at him anticipating of any answers.
He smiled, hand stretched out over at you. He brushed away some hairs from your face and hung them over your ears. You were pretty sure you were flushed, but for some funny reason, you can’t feel any warmth from your body.
“You said you have no will to live anymore and that the world were so cruel.” he started, you nodded listening to him. He was right about that, even if its a bit blurry, you can still remember saying that to him.
“I told you if you lived it in a different way, it wouldn’t be so cruel. I just did you a favor.” he explained but you were still clueless about the things that were currently.
“I don’t understand.”
He smiled and stood up then walked towards the side table just beside the bed you were tucked in.
“Are you hungry?” he asked while holding something.
You didn’t talk, you actually don’t know. At the moment, you were confused and doesn’t feel anything.
But you felt the sudden hunger the moment he open the lid of the container he was holding. Letting out a small chuckle, Jake walk back to the bed.
“Ahh, I can’t get over with how beautiful you look, y/n. What to do? I think I found my obsession.” he muttered eyes fixed over at you.
You blushed hardly because of what he just said but quickly got distracted over the thing he was holding. The closer he gets, the hungrier you get.
When he hand it over to you, your brows furrowed at the sight of a red liquid inside.
“W-What is this?”
“I figured your body won’t take somebody else’s blood since it's still adjusting so i’ll be your blood bank for the mean time.”
You were stunned at your position when you heard about it. It is blood. Fresh blood of Jake. Why does it smelled so good? It make you drool in hunger.
“Am I...?”
You’ve heard about those things before. They were often became topics specially lately because of the sudden missing people over at your town.
Jake sat close to you, “Yeah, a vampire.”
Your hand lowered letting the cup rest over your thigh, you almost lose your mind. You don’t want to believe it but what else can explain the reason why you’re still here breathing when you jumped off a freaking bridge?
“B-But why? I told you I wanted to die.”
“Well, basically you’re already dead.”
You looked at him, frustrated. Okay, you are dead but that doesn’t even make sense! You're seem like you’re still alive. Breathing, but dead.
“You don’t understand, Jake. I wanted to die because I don’t want to be here. I have nobody else with me.”
His face turned serious and you’re not gonna lie, you somehow felt intimidated when that soft smile vanished from his face.
“Then what do you call me, baby? I’m here for you.” he said softly hand raised over to cup your face.
“Life’s been cruel to you and you were too good for that world.” his eyes turned red and you don’t know but they looked so pretty.
Two sharp fangs showed over from his lips as he smiled at you. Your mouth fell, right now, Jake looked really out of this world. You never know vampires can look this good. The books you used to read never told you they look this attractive.
“Now that I have you, I’ll make sure you won’t suffer anymore. Be with me,”
“Why me?”
Out of all the girls who were giving him attention, why you?
“Why not you?” he said starring right over at your eyes.
You were stunned, silent after he answered that to you.
He leaned closer to you, lips touching your cheeks lightly then over at your ears. It sent shivers over at your whole body but you loved it. Jake’s effect over at you, you enjoyed it.
“I’ll be here for you, y/n.” he whispered.
You gulped, lowering your head as you shut your eyes tightly.
“O-okay.” you answered.
Jake smirked, “That's my girl.”
Tumblr media
You’ve noticed some changes from your physical appearance and even at some aspects of your personality. You’re not that anxious anymore, confidence filled you up for some reasons. It isn’t a bad thing.
You trailed over the empty hallway of your school. Classes already started so you’re now heading over your classroom. You’ve learnt that you’ve skipped school for 3 days already.
Arriving at the entrance of the room, heads turned towards your direction. Looking directly over your teacher, you smiled right at her. She was furrowing her brows while trying to determine who you are.
“Is that... y/n?” you heard one of your classmates whispered.
“I’m sorry for being late, Ms. Choi.” and you even bowed at her.
She looked dumbfounded looking right at you. She doesn’t know how to exactly describe but something changed.
“U-Uh... Ms. Y/n--”
Your teacher can’t even finish what she was about to say when a hand wrapped over your shoulder.
“Sorry for being late, Ms. Choi. We kind of had some problem on our way here.” Jake suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
You blushed but kept still. You were used to Jake’s affection. He’s such a loving person. He took care of you and you never felt that way ever since you’re Dad died.
“It’s o-okay, Mr. Sim. You two can sit now.” she said. The class were still silent as they were very shock at what’s happening right now.
Your eyes traveled over the students inside. They were looking at you in a different way, not in the way how they used to back when they’re still bullying you. Some of them looked at you with confusion, some with desire and some with fear.
You chuckled softly, starring at their pathetic faces. Specially your step sister, her eyes were a bit bigger than usuall.
“Y/n, right here baby.” Jake called you out. You nodded and turned your head towards him. As the teacher gets back to where she was interrupted, you sat down beside him.
Jake rested his hand over at the back rest of your chair. His hands started drawing small lazy circles over your other arm.
He leaned closer, “Did you see their faces?” he whispered at you dropping a kiss over at your shoulder before he leaned away.
You smirked nodding your head as you turned over at him. “They were so surprise.”
He chuckled, “Who wouldn’t be surprise? My girl looked so beautiful.” he said while facing the front. You blushed and you saw how his ears turned a bit red too. You chuckled and just tried focusing at the lesson.
As time pass by, you started to get more dizzy. “I’m dizzy.” you mumbled softly.
“You hungry?”
You looked over at him and slowly nodded your head. He chuckled finding you cute. He rummages over his things and pull out a tumblr. The same tumblr he handed you that night.
He brushed away some hair away from your face, “Take it easy with you in-take of blood.” he whispered after dropping a kiss over at your forehead.
You started drinking from the bottle and felt yourself getting much better. The class continued with you having your meal. Jake find you cute while you enjoy it so much.
When the classes were finally over, Jake and you headed outside the school hand in hand. Students followed both of you with stares full of curiosity.
“Uh, you should go on Jake. I’ll just go to the class president because of my things I left at her place.” you told him.
He nodded his head at you, “I’ll wait for you in the car.”
You smiled at her before nodding your head. When you saw him walked away, you started to walk back inside the campus to go and look for the class president. You did find her pretty fast. She was with your step sister and some from their circle of friends.
“Class president.” you called her out. They looked over you in unison and they looked surprised once again.
“oh y/n!” unlike before, she doesn’t look irritated by your presence. Your step sister was lowering her head as well, trying to avoid eye-contact.
“I’m just gonna inform you that I’ll be getting my stuff at your place later. Thank you for letting me stay.” I said smiling. Well even if she acted annoyed, I can’t deny that she was nice enough to keep me in.
“H-Huh? Why? You know what, I actually felt alone. You c-can stay if you want.”
You starred right at her eyes. Lies. It doesn’t look so sincere like how Jake’s eyes sparkles whenever he talks with you. He was so sincere with everything, warmth taking over you once he started comforting you.
You smiled a little, “Nah, it's fine. I already have a place to stay.”
“Where were you these past days? We w-were looking for y-you!” she said. Again, you can’t feel anything from her.
“I jumped off a bridge.” you straightly told her. She was dumbfounded as well as the other girls that were with her.
After seconds of silence, you chuckled. “I was kidding. Jake kept me in.”
They gulped and obvious envy were over their faces. You sighed and decided you should go on. As you turn around, you felt somebody held your arm.
“Y/n, Mom said you s-should go home.”
You slowly faced her then your eyes trailed over to her hand that was holding you. Her eyes weren’t blank and doesn’t look so rude like always. You were stunned and can’t talk for a while. You don’t know what to response to her.
Even before you can talk, a hand brushes away her hold off from you. A hand instantly held your waist and pulled you closer to his body.
“Her home now is with me.” Jake said and you felt that familiar comfort that you’ve never felt for so long.
Jake guided you away from and you went along without saying a word.
Tumblr media
Weeks passed by with Jake and you’ve been very happy with him. He introduced you to this amazing world he have. Days with Jake was never boring and full of surprises. He clearly made you happy.
You let out a loud breath while you felt his soft fingers caressing your arms while you’re both snuggling close to each other.
You’re both enjoying the silence between you while laying down to your bed.
“How did you turn me again, Jake?” you were curious.
“The wine I offered you that night have my blood in it.” he chuckled remembering what he just did back then.
“Why do you have a thing like that with you while strolling around?” you turn over and rested your hand over at his chest while you lay your head over it. You looked over to Jake and he have this smirk right over his face.
“I was following you around for days and I figured I should be prepared once I saw an opportunity to give you that drink.” he said.
“So you do wanted to turn me.”
“Yeah. You thought I was kidding when I said that?” he raised an eyebrow at you. With a chuckle you nodded your head.
“Jake, I’ve always noticed your eyes were cold before. Why?”
He kept his smile while starring right at you, he sighed then gently brush away some strands from your face.
“You know, not everyone is fond of living forever. I’ve never found somebody who’s willing to stay with me. I was born as a vampire and I felt so alone.” He sound so sad that you actually felt bad for him.
“When I saw you, I knew I wanted you. I told myself I’ll take it slow and won’t force you. But when I saw you struggle in this life and really planned to take your life, I became selfish.” his eyes turned red as he starred lovingly at you.
You gulped cupping his face. “What if I told you I don’t want this?”
You saw pain over his eyes as he held your hand that was holding his face. With soft kiss, he showered your hands with it. “I don’t know, baby. I don’t know if I can let you go.”
You pursed your lips, “I’m all alone in my life too, Jake.” you said and he opened his eyes to look at you.
With affection, your eyes turned red as you leaned closer to his face. “But now that you’re here, I have a home I can call mine. I have a person I can be with forever.” you mumbled and he leaned closer as well for a kiss.
“I love you,” you mumbled.
“I love you, y/n.”

Chap 9- Finale
Mentions of: Typical violence, stabbing, knives, blood, guns, etc.
Tumblr media
Humming to yourself softly, you finished chopping the vegetables, pouring them into the boiling water. You swayed your hips along to the music that your radio played, smiling to yourself. It had been another successful day of work, and things were finally lightening up.
Thanks to your job, you had much more time to work on your assignments, meeting your deadlines with ease. You also got to work with Jed a lot more closely on Ghostface, and it had been amazing. He was amazing.
But despite your feelings of admiration, attraction, and infatuation towards him, you knew you couldn’t have anything with Jed. You were working together, after all, so your relationship had to be professional.
Suddenly, your phone rang, pulling you out of your thoughts. Your landline was still unplugged, so it was your cellphone that was ringing. It was late at night, and you knew the only one who could be calling was….no. Was it him? Was it time?
You knew the best thing to do was to not pick up, so you didn’t. And once again, it rang repeatedly, to the point where you had to force yourself to ignore it.
But then, there was a knock at the door, making you rush over. When you opened it, there was no one there. And that was when you knew you had to answer the phone.
“Hey there Dollface, miss me?” A familiar voice greeted, and you felt your heart drop into your stomach as one question plagued your mind. Were you going to die tonight? “I was starting to think I was forgotten.”
Oh, how you wish you forgot him. You wish you had forgotten everything. “What do you want?”
“What do I want? I think you know what I want. To come in there and finish what we started.” He told you, and you swallowed the lump in your throat, feeling your body begin to tremble.
“Leave me alone. Or else I’ll call the cops, or worse, I’ll shoot you.” You threatened, keeping your voice from quivering.
“Mmm, you sure? That didn’t seem to work so well last time.” He said, not an ounce of fear in his voice.
You shut your mouth, not sure what to say next. What should you do? You knew if you begged for your life, you would be giving him exactly what you wanted. And if you fought him off, you’d probably die.
But you’d rather die fighting until your last breath than live humiliating yourself.
Finding some sort of confidence in all of your fear, you managed to force the words out of your throat. “Well, let’s finish this.”
“Atta girl. Since you’ve been so good, I think I’ll reward you with a ten-second head start. Better go get that gun, sweetheart. Ten, nine, eight-” As he began to count down, you rushed up the stairs, pulling your gun out from under your bed, dropping your phone in the process.
When you got back downstairs, you picked up the device, hesitantly answering it. But all you got was the dial tone. He had hung up. And that’s when you knew he was here.
You spun around in every direction, searching high and low, studying every single detail near you. He was nowhere to be seen. Except for-
Gloved hands came out from behind you, grabbing your shoulder and making you fire the gun right into the ceiling, almost shooting both you and Ghostface.
You faced him, managing to get his hands off of you. He moved to the gun instead, gripping the barrel and trying to tear it from your hands, while you held on tight.
It was terrifying seeing this killer face to face like this. He wasn’t much different than the pictures, the same mask, same robe, and outfit, but the energy he had was truly horrifying. Staring at his mask, you tied to make out any features behind the mesh black material. He was so much taller than you thought he was, practically towering over you. And god, he was a lot stronger than you expected.
“Like what you see?” He asked, breaking you from your daze. You gritted your teeth, trying to jerk the gun back roughly.
It was only then when you noticed the glint of his knife in his other hand, and he slashed at you, letting go of the weapon. You stumbled backward, losing your balance, your body slamming against the counter and hitting the radio.
The channel switched to a different station, the music now playing loudly. It was an older song you weren’t very familiar with.
“And now the end is near, And so I face that final curtain”
You groaned in pain, struggling to stay on your feet. He hummed along with the tune, playing with the knife and striding towards you. You grabbed the gun, raising it, but as you did so, he slashed at your arm, coaxing a scream from your throat.
You managed to move out of the way, the blade only cutting into your forearm slightly. Trying to defend yourself, you went to hit him, but he just grabbed your hair, turning you around so your back hit his front, moving your head up, putting his knife next to your throat.
Before he could even try and cut your neck, you slammed the butt of the shotgun into his stomach, stunning him and making him let you go. With a few seconds to spare, you tried getting ahead of him, but it didn’t work.
The music began to crescendo as it neared the chorus, blasting loudly and silencing your pleas and screams for help.
“I’ve planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway”
“And more, more much than this, I did it my way”
He sliced into your leg, making you yelp and fall to the floor like an injured dog. “Gotcha.” He mumbled, getting on top of you.
“Get off!” You shrieked, moving the shotgun sideways and hitting it against his chest, pushing him back. You kicked at him, aiming for hitting him where it hurts.
Unfortunately, you missed, and he sliced at your head. You rolled over quickly, making him hit the floor instead. Still determined to get away, you got to your feet, scrambling up the stairs and to your bedroom to get some ammo.
You had lost quite a bit of blood at this point, your arm and leg soaked in the crimson liquid, leaving a trail of droplets behind. But you didn’t care. Anything to get away from him, even a spare second could save your life.
It took you a moment to realize how close he was to you, his quiet footsteps nearing your door. Quickly, you forced yourself under the bed, pulling your gun along with you and trying to quiet your breaths.
The door creaked open quietly, his black boots pressing against the floor and coming into your view. “What is this? Some game of hide and seek?”
You could barely hear his voice over the loud music, despite it playing from downstairs. “Hmm, where is she? Maybe I should just give up and leave.”
“Not to say the things that he truly feels, And not the words of someone who kneels”
“Let the records show, I took all the blows, and did it-“
“Found you.” He grabbed the muzzle of your shotgun, pulling you out from under the bed, and slamming you into the wall, pinning you up against it, making you cry out.
“My way”
As the song ended, he tore your gun from your hands, leaving you a bloody, exhausted, mess. Was this it? The end of you? The end of everything? You worked so hard, and it was all for nothing. How pathetic. How pitiful.
Suddenly, he grabbed your face, and you prepared for the scorching pain of the blade slitting your throat open, but it never came. Instead, there was a bright flash. The flash of a camera.
“Smile, Dollface.” Your eyes shot open, and you stared right into the camera lens. “Good girl.”
He let go of your face, looking at the pictures. Then he lifted his head from the camera, so it was facing you. “What? Did you think I was going to kill you? No, not yet. The fun’s just getting started.”
“I think I’ll be keeping this, though.” He ran his fingers up and down your gun, tracing over your initials. Then, he turned to the window, undoing the lock and pushing it up.
He put one leg through, pausing momentarily to look back at you. “Go take care of those wounds, and don’t bleed to death, that’ll be boring for everyone. I’ll see you soon, (y/n).”

What Are The Odds?
Tumblr media
JungwooxReader
Word Count: 2.8k
Warnings: semi public (restroom) penetrative. some grabbing and groping @ the beginning.
Note: if you’ve never played what are the odds here’s a very brief explanation. Person A wants something from person B. Person A asks what are the odds, person B says a number, for example 25. Both person A and B say a number between one and the given number and if they both say the same number person A wins. I know some people do extra rules sometimes including numbers divisible by 2 or something idk but i don’t care. 💜

“Jungwoo, get your hand out of my pants.”
It was a harsh command, your words coming out quiet but sharp as you spoke through your teeth. Your less than forceful grip wraps around his wrist, and your foggy mind weakens the way you push at his wandering hands.
“You’re not wearing any pants,” he counters, far too serious for your liking and his greedy fingers desperately trying to dig deeper into your underwear shamelessly.
“Oh so a skirt gives you permission to be a pervert,” you swat at his hands again, huffing and pinching his skin as you turn every direction in search of your friends coming back, “they’re going to be back literally any second so can you please behave?”
“You’re no fun,” he finally obliges, his tone completely joking as he accepts defeat but not before pinching the skin of your belly in retaliation, “if they walk over and my hand is in your underwear, I think that’s their fault for being friends with us.”
Exactly on the queue of your hand connecting with his shoulder in an annoyed wack, you see your friends returning to the food court table you two sit at, completely oblivious smiles on their faces as they balance trays of food.
——
“What are the odds?”
“Hrm?” a small sound of confusion slipping out from around the mouth full of food you’re struggling to chew.
It was a small lull in conversation and everyone started to trickle into their own side conversations that had prompted Jungwoo to lean over and breath hotly against your ear with the sudden and confusing question. He had an issue with bringing you into the middle of a conversation that he had started only in his head, luckily for him you had a tendency to find it a bit charming, but at the moment your mind was occupied on willing yourself not to choke.
“What are the odds,” he speaks slower this time, as if a change in pace adds any context in the slightest. You finally look more at him, and notice that he’s all twitchy where he sits, his hands wringing together as he seems anxious and giddy for something to happen, “that you follow me to the bathroom right now.”
“For what?” you ask with a faux ignorance, only partially hoping it’s not for the reason you’re thinking.
“What do you mean for what?” he asks a bit louder than he probably intended, pulling the attention of one of your friends momentarily, but an eye roll and a shake of the head from you perfectly portrays ‘don’t worry, Jungwoo is just being Jungwoo.’
“You know exactly for what,” he speaks in a tone that makes you feel like you’re being scolded, but after a rough swallow, you can only smile at his dramatics, “so what are the odds?”
You huff quietly, dropping your fork clattering onto your plate to add dramatics, your bottom lip becoming your own personal chew toy as you glance around the relatively empty food court and preoccupied friends.
“Fifteen,” you finally respond after a moment of him doing nothing but glaring at you in anticipation. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t want to follow him and cause some chaos, but you feared saying ten would look too eager, and twenty just left more of a chance of it not happening than you wanted. Yes, you wanted to leave it to fate, but there’s nothing wrong with manipulating fate just a little.
“Fifteen,” he confirms with a grin, his legs wiggling beneath the table as he turns to face you more, his shoulders slouching and his eyes widening as he waits for your completely undivided attention to lay on him before counting down.
“Three, two, one....”
“Eleven.”
It’s in their air, same word, same number, but two different voices speak it. With a sinking heart, but warming belly, you throw your head back with a sigh when you realize he’s won.
“Excuse is up to you, since you’re such shit at what are the odds,” he taunts, only one dial of annoying away from calling you a nerd and taking your lunch money, “but you better be in the single person bathroom in ten minutes or you’re in trouble.”
He stands, giving some unnecessarily detailed explanation about where he was going before tripping over his feet towards the bathroom he’s been eyeing since the idea popped into his brain. You can only sink down into your seat and glance at the time on your phone as you wait for the perfect moment.
——
It was exactly eleven minutes after Jungwoo had disappeared that you decided to stand yourself, hoping he actually found a way to follow through on his earlier threat.
You mutter something about drinking too much water this morning, and a promise to check on Jungwoo if he still wasn’t out when you were done in hopes to mask what you’re really getting up to do. The chorus of acknowledging grumbles and a few playful ‘have fun’s seemed to be reassuring enough, and with a tug at the hem of your skirt, you're scurrying towards the bathroom you saw your boyfriend disappear into not long ago.
You stand at the door for a moment, pushing it another minute past your time limit partially to make the boy on the other side of the door squirm, but also to wrap your mind around what you’ve let him convince you to do.
It’s when you hear him quietly hiss in pain from messing with something he probably shouldn’t be touching at all, that you let out an airy laugh through your nose and lean against the locked door.
You knock gently at the door, whispering a taunting ‘guess who?’ in between taps, and before you could step back, he swings the door open, and you’re stumbling in.
“I said ten minutes,” he wastes no time scolding you for your poor listening skills, his hands grabbing for your waist and pushing your chest against the wall, “ten minutes is a perfectly reasonable time to come up with an excuse and follow your boyfriend to the bathroom to fuck isn’t it? So what could have possibly taken you so long?”
“Well, Jungwoo,” you start, fully prepared to pull something incredibly stupid out of thin air to use as an excuse, but when he presses his hips against your ass and you feel just how excited he had gotten just from his wandering hands earlier, you begin to stutter over your words, “m-maybe I just umm lost track of time?”
“Lost track of time?” he asks in a sarcastic and even borderline bitchy tone, “definitely doesn’t have anything to do with a little threat I made without even thinking earlier would it? Pfffft no how could it?”
You can’t even bite back, deliver the same level of idiotic sass that had attracted you two to each other in the first place. Not with your face pressing against the cold wall and his hands moving faster than you can process down towards your thighs.
He lets out quiet grunts of appreciation when he starts to push your skirt up and around your hips, a big evil smile crawling across his face when he sees that he had guessed perfectly correct, and you were in fact wearing his favorite pair of panties. (He swears he could pick them out from millions of pairs just from the way the elastic bites into his wrist.)
You’re pressed tighter against the wall, your panting breaths almost syncing with his own when he starts to roughly grind his denim clad crotch against you. His lack of snarky comments from the ways you’ve started to whine tells you you’ve lost him, and your thighs start to shake and tremble as you squeeze them together tightly, trying to relieve the pain from your sudden neediness and impatience.
“Jungwoo come on,” you whine, swinging your arm aimlessly behind you to swat at him, “we don’t have all day, they were already getting weird about how long you were taking before I left.”
“Fuck okay,” he says with hesitation before pulling away enough to shove your underwear down to pool around your ankles while muttering to himself.
You begin debating in your head whether or not you should touch yourself, before answering yes, you absolutely should, when you hear him struggling with his belt.
The first minuscule touch of your middle and ring finger touching your clit makes you gasp and press your forehead against the wall, the circling motions falling just short compared to the way he knows how to touch you and you can only huff in frustration from the stupidity of your own hand not knowing exactly what to do.
It’s the sound of his jeans falling around his knees and a small clicking of a cap that pulls you from your inner grumbling, but it’s the cold shock of the jelly on his fingers pushing between your thighs that makes you jerk your hand away from your body to mirror the other laying flat by your head.
“Why do you have lube?” you ask in shock and even a bit of arousal from how much curveball he could be, but you’d never admit the second part willingly to his face.
“I think the better question is why don’t you?” he asks with an air of arrogance as he pulls his fingers away and begins to audibly coat himself in the substance, “looks like im the prepared one between us for once.”
“Yeah prepared for something you weren’t even sure was going to happen.”
“Yeah but you’re letting it happen aren’t you? Loser,” regardless of the name that he throws at you, he seems to have lost his patience with the back and forth you two have started. So with the last last syllable still slipping between his teeth, the hand he doesn’t have wrapped around himself grabs you around the waist and he’s shoving himself almost completely inside you.
You don’t have time to muffle the surprised moan that falls from your tongue, instead all you can do is pray no one was close enough to the bathrooms to hear it as he starts to rock his hips against yours.
“Can’t judge me for the lube now can you?” it was rhetorical, but even if it wasn’t you would have been able to answer him. With the second thrust into you, he had already been able to seat himself fully into you, the size of him still shocking you to this day and you can only clench and squirm against him.
His hands are clumsy as the trace around your body. His non dominant hand struggles to push under the hem of your shirt to grasp at your chest, while his other dips below the skirt he was so thrilled you had chosen to wear in search of the space between your thighs.
His breath is hot and quick pants when he leans his chest against your back and pushes his face into the crook of your neck. You almost feel like you’re suffocating from how much he begins to surround you and you really for the life of you cannot think of a worse placed to pass out in than a food court bathroom with your boyfriend fucking your brains out.
It’s when his own fingers dig into your clit and his warm tongue drags up the side of your neck, so you remember the existence of your own hands. You shove one up your now stretched out top to tangle tightly with the one he has kneading your chest, while the other slams tightly against your mouth to muffle the moans and squeaks that now beat against it.
“I wanna make you come so fucking hard,” he grunts in your ear with every ounce of honestly he can pull from his chest, his hips showing you exactly how truthful he is with the way they thrust roughly against you, pushing and pulling you apart in a way that makes you feel like he’s trying to take you apart at the seams, “wanted that since I saw you put on that cute little skirt on this morning. You just live to taunt me don’t you?”
You can’t answer, too afraid that taking your hand even the slightest amount away from your mouth will expose to the whole food court exactly what’s happening behind the closed door. Instead all you do is push back against him, trying hopelessly to match his thrusts and getting a sharp bite to the soft skin of your neck in retaliation.
“Better come quick before they think we got lost in here,” he says too coolly, his ability to not sound like he’s on a brink of orgasm when you know for a fact he is almost driving you up the wall. But unfortunately, his words and the fact that you're just as much, if not closer to your finish than him, has you melting back into his chest.
Even when your thighs begin to tremble, and you accidentally step back onto his foot, his fingers don’t stutter in the slightest. The arm pushing against your chest keeps you from squirming away from him, and even with your thighs trying to push him out, he keeps his fast and unrelenting pace on your hypersensitive clit.
You’re pushing up on your toes, his one foot still getting crushed under your weight, and your neck inhumanly arching to lean your head against his shoulder as you start to come. You can hear the faint growling noise you make from behind your hand, but your mind is too busy blanking out to control anything that comes from your mouth.
You feel your eyes watering as his fingers keep moving against you to carry you through your orgasm, his own finally creeping up and making him shove himself fully inside you as he starts to come.
The feeling of him spilling inside you creates borderline unbearable waves of aftershocks to wash across you, and you can feel your body fluttering around him as you try to ruin his brain just as much as he did your own. It’s almost like a small competition sparks between you to fight against your own pleasure just to simply torture the other, but eventually once your both sporting lines of sweat on your hairlines and aching shoulders and back do you silently call it a truce.
The small room suddenly feels too hot for either of you to be anywhere close to it, but you’d rather scream than let him take his hands away from your body. You’re more than glad to shove his fingers away from your buzzing clit, but you still keep it wrapped tightly in your fist the way you do to his other.
When he pulls out you feel a disappointing emptiness but an even more embarrassing rush of fear of the evidence of his orgasm leaking onto the floor, so all you can do is whine and squeeze your thighs back together again while you and him both catch your breaths.
“Come on,” he whispers, and that and the way his hands smooth over your burning skin is almost sweet, until he swats at your ass harshly before he starts to pull his jeans back onto his hips.
“Didn’t feel like I was in much trouble,” you loudly sigh in both faux disappointment but also to help even your breathing, “guess you’re all bark and no bite puppy boy.”
He glares to the best of his ability, but his still animated brows and pouting lips makes him look hilariously cute, “you think you’re getting punished in the bathroom? Absolutely not, I’m a man of class and respect.”
“Man of respect? You just fucked me in a public toilet after a game of what are the odds.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he lies, weirdly focused on redoing his belt and avoiding your eyes, “anyways we should probably go, they probably already think the chicken I got was bad or something.”
“You go,” you push him aside gentle before you begin a awkward trip towards the toilet in the corner, “I’m going to get rid of the mess you made and pee all you’re gross boy germs out so you go and please try to come up with an excuse that won’t make us both look like freaks okay?”
“On it captain,” he salutes to you before ducking out in a way that makes you question if you really truly let him just put his dick inside you, but with a growing need to pee you push it aside to waddle with haste.
It’s not until you shuffling back to the table in what you assumed was a discreet walk of shame do you realize he’s done the opposite of what you asked, as when you finally reach within hearing range to the table you’re immediately met with jeers and taunts about you and your boyfriend being insatiable freaks. But at least Jungwoo has the decency to look a little ashamed and maybe even a dash of apologetic.

The sound of a loud thud and the floor creaking made you look up from your book. Eyes going wide. Shaking in fear. You quietly put your book down, taking the throw rug off your legs as quietly as you can. Standing up quietly. Turning not to make a sound. You cautiously walked towards the kitchen. Grabbing a knife out of the knife block. Cringing at the sound as you took it out.
gulping as you walked out of the kitchen, peeping out behind the wall. You felt relief wash over you as you saw nothing there. Taking a step out from behind the wall. You felt a wave of courage as you took small steps. The knife held out in front of you. Heart rate increasing by the second.
You were so focused on in front of you that you didn’t realize something was sneaking up on you until it was too late.
You felt a strong grip on your hair. Squeezing their hand hard against the back of your head. Slamming your head against the wall hard. It startled you enough to let go of the knife. Making the knife fall to the ground.
They let out a deep grunt. Slamming your head against the wall again and again. They let go. Hastily Taking out a gun from the band of his jeans. You reach up to your forehead, feeling it is sticky with blood. Making you let out a whimper. Bringing your hand down to your eye level. You let out a whimper as you saw blood. Your head pounds.
You crane your neck towards your attacker. Giving them a pleading look. Lips trembling. Eyes welling up with tears. The guy pointed the gun at you. Making you shake in fear.
A tall, disheveled man looked down at you, with a sinister smile. Observing you.
“Please, don’t.” You begged. Scooting away from him.
He ignored your pleas. Lunging towards you, you quickly scrambled up. Only for him to grab a hold of your hair. Yanking you back to him. Then pushing your face into the ground. You tried to crawl away from him, but he grabbed a hold of your ankles. Pulling you back towards him. Rolling you over onto your back. He climbed on top of you.
You tried putting up a fight. Trying to grab his gun but to no avail. He elbowed you hard in the nose.  Making you gasp. He took the opportunity to shot you in the shoulder. A sharp pain shot up and down your arm. More tears pouring out of your eyes. Your vision blurring. He shot you, again and again, all in different places, your hands going up in defence. Trying to fight him off.
He kept going till you weren’t fighting him anymore. The pain as unbearable. Blood was covering your clothes. Your body spasming. Your blood was all over him, as well as the ground. He got up putting his gun away. He stood over you looking at you with a satisfied smile. While you just looked at him through glazed eyes. Your breathing labored. Your eyes getting heavy. The guy then turned away from you, leaving you to bleed out on the floor while he exited the home. Spots danced in your vision. Darkness soon surrounded you as your breathing got slower. Heartbeat pumping slowly. The sound of your phone ringing getting distant, as your body slowly shut down…
Jay let out a sigh, as he got into his truck. Putting the keys ignition. Turning the truck on. Blasting the heat, taking out his phone. Unlocking it. Jay tapped the phone icon app. Dialing your number. The sound of the phone ringing. Jay felt an unsettling feeling form in the pit of his stomach, as your voicemail played.
“Hey, babe, I’m coming home now, I will see you when I arrive.” Jay spoke. Ending the call. He looked down at his phone. Dread washing over him.
Something just didn’t sit right with him. You always picked your phone when he rang you. His eyebrows furrowed into confusion.
He quickly put his truck into gear. Putting his seatbelt on. Pressing his foot hard on the accelerator. Speeding out of the parking lot. Going through red lights.
His mind tried to think of excuses as to why you didn’t answer the phone. Maybe you were asleep or taking a nap. Or in the shower or binge-watching or lost in a book. The more he came up with excuses the more anxious he felt.
Jay quickly parked in front the of the house he shared with you. Turning the truck off, yanking the keys out of the ignition. Unbuckling the seatbelt. Getting out of the truck, he locked it in a rush. Rushing over to the front door. Unlocking the door in a hurry. He opened the door. Just as he walked through the threshold he stopped in his tracks. His heart plummeting to the pit of his stomach. Going pale, as he saw you lying limp on the floor. Blood staining your shirt as well as the floor around you.
Jay quickly rushed towards you.
“Babe.” He cried. Tears welling up in his eyes. His heart aching.
“No.” He sobbed. His body shaking with sobs.
“Y/n.” He gasped out. His hand shakingly extending towards your wrist, picking it up and trying to find a pulse, he felt his heartache, even more, when you couldn’t find one. He then moved his index and middle finger to your neck. Feeling slightly relieved when he found a pulse, but it was weak.
“It’s okay, baby, I’m going to take you to the hospital.” He cooed. Reassuring you, but himself more than you.
“Stay with me.” He pleaded as he slipped his left arm behind your knees, his right hand resting on your lower back. Pulling you towards his chest, as he cradled you to his chest. Standing up rushing out of the door. Shutting the door behind him. His eyes were on your face the entire time. his heart beating faster by the second. He felt like he was going to be sick. He couldn’t lose you.
Tears fell rapidly from his eyes, as he unlocked his truck, doing his best to open the backseat door near the driver’s side without dropping you.
“It’s going to be okay, your going to be okay.” He reassured you. Gently laying you on the backseat. He looked at you with a pained expression. Before closing the door and getting into the driver's side without hesitation.
He put the keys in the ignition, struggling to put them in since his hands were shaking. Cursing under his breath as he cried harder. He finally got them in. Turning the key, as the truck roared to life. Putting the truck into gear. He pressed his foot hard against the gas. Making the car speed off, not even bothering to put his seatbelt on. Speeding to Gaffney Chicago Medical Centre, breaking all the road rules. Looking at you in the rear-view mirror now and then. He wiped his tears away, but it was no use they still fell from his eyes.
Jay felt slight relief as he made it to Gaffney Chicago Medical Centre. Jay didn’t bother finding a park, he went straight to wear the ambulance park. Quickly opening the door and rushing to open the backseat door. Grabbing you gently. Carrying you to the emergency area.
“HELP.” He yelled desperately. April and Maggie looked up. Rushing over towards Jay who was holding a limp, bloody you.
“Baghdad.” Maggie instructed Jay. Jay rushed over. Putting you gently down on the gurney. Grabbing a hold of your hand, as Maggie hooked wires to you. While April cut your shirt open.
Jay stared at your chest and abdomen in horror. Lips trembling.
“Jay, you need to leave so we can help her.” April spoke. Giving him a sympathetic look. But Jay wasn’t listening to he kept staring
“Page Dr Rhodes.” Maggie spoke, as she continued to examine you. April nodded her head complying.
Will noticed the commotion happening. Coming over to his brother. His hand grabbing Jay’s shoulder. Giving it a reassuring squeeze.
“Jay.” Will spoke. Looking at him with worry in his eyes. As they bagged you.
“She…” Jay barely gasped out.
Jay felt someone rush past him. Which happened to be Connor.
Connor felt his heart leap to his throat. His heart racing. He rushed over to you. Bumping into Jay in the process.
“Y/n.” Connor gasped, putting the disposable gloves on. Taking his stethoscope from around his neck. Putting the ear tips in his ear. Then putting the diaphragm in the middle of your chest.
“She’s been shot, multiple times, her pulse is weak, she isn’t responding.” April told him, as he listened to your heart pump slowly. This made him panic even more.
“Her hearts weak.” Connor sighed, taking the diaphragm away from your chest, and pulling the ear tips out of his ear. Putting the stethoscope around his neck.
“Let's do a scan, see if the bullets are still in there.” Connor ordered. Taking out his flashlight. Turning it on.
“Y/n, can you hear me?” Connor asked as he shone the light in your eyes. But you were unresponsive.
“Dilated pupils.” He sighed. Feeling more dread wash over him. Connor took a step back, as April slid a black pad underneath you, another nurse tilting you, then gently putting you back down.
All of them looked anxiously at the screen. Maggie stroked your hair.
Connor felt like his heart was being squeezed way to tight. As he saw five bullets still in you one in your shoulder, two near your stomach, one near your abdomen and the other one slightly near your heart.
“She needs to go to the OR now.” Connor spoke.
Jay stared at the screen in horror. His face was ghostly white. He felt lightheaded.
“Oh my god.” He gasped out. As Connor, Maggie, April and a nurse pulled the rails up.
Will pulled Jay out of the way as they wheeled you out.
“They are going to help her.” Will reassured Jay, guiding him to the waiting room.
“They are going to save her.” Will spoke. As Jay sat in the seat. Will crouched in front of him.
Jay raised his hands in front of him. His body trembling as a sob left his lips. His hands were stained with your blood.
“It’s okay, Jay, hey look at me.” Will spoke. Putting his hands on Jay’s hands and putting them down.
Jay looked at his brother through tear-filled eyes.
“What if she dies?” Jay sobbed out.
“She won’t, she’s a fighter.” He reassured his brother.
“I can’t lose her. I don’t think I could survive losing her.” Jay sobbed. Will gave him a pained expression. Wrapping his arms around Jay and hugging him. This made Jay break down.
“I can’t.” He sobbed….
Connor, Maggie, April and the nurse rolled you out of the elevator, rolling the gurney to an operating room.
Connor let go, going to scrub his hands. he heard the door open. Ava stormed in.
“You can’t treat her, you’re her ex.” She shouted. Making Connors jaw clench. He continued to scrub his hands.
“I’m the best option.” He spoke. Turning his head to look at Ava. She let out a sarcastic laugh.
“I’m her best choice, you’re her ex, what happens if you make a misjudgment, then what is her boyfriend going to think, that you did it out of spite because she is with Jay, not you.” Ava hissed out.
“You don’t know her as I do, you aren’t close to her, so yeah, I’m her best shot, and you're wasting my time and her time by talking.” Connor growled out. Moving towards the doors.
“Bastard.” She muttered to herself. As he turned his back to her. Opening the doors with his elbows…
“She should be out by, now right?” Jay asked his brother. Jay was pacing restlessly. While Will was sitting down. Jay’s eyes were red from crying. His cheeks stained with dried tears.
“I’ll go check.” He responded. Getting up. He gave Jay’s shoulder a reassuring squeeze when he walked past him.
Will got in the elevator. Going up. He exited the elevator going over to the desk.
“Have you seen Dr Rhodes?” Will asked the nurse at the desk.
“He’s over there.” she replied. Pointing her index finger to the room behind him. Will turned around to see Connor sitting next to you. Holding your hand to his lips. While you laid on the hospital bed asleep.
“Thanks.” He spoke. Walking over towards the room. Sliding the door open then close the door.
“So, where you going to tell Jay, she is out of surgery or were you just going to keep it from him? After all, she is his girlfriend.” Will spoke. Making Connor’s jaw clench. He untwined his fingers from yours. Delicately putting your hand down.
“She lost a lot of blood, I had to give her a blood transfusion, there were some complications during surgery, I nearly lost her. I had to put her in an induced coma.” Connor spoke, ignoring what Will said.
“She isn’t yours anymore Connor, you blew it.” Will spoke. Defending his brother.
“I know that.” Connor spoke. Standing up. His eyes were red from crying.
“I don’t think you do.” Will spoke again. Glaring at Connor.
“Have you ever thought that when she came in it affected me too? That I felt like I made a huge mistake letting her go. That the love of my life was dying.” Connor shouted. Fresh tears welling up in his eyes.
Will gave Connor a deadly glare. Connor let out a sniffle. Shaking his head.
“Jay can see her.” Connor spoke, as he gave you one last longing glance before leaving the room.
Will took out his phone. Sending Jay a quick text with the room and floor you were on. He would have gone and got him, but he didn’t trust Connor at the moment, not with what he saw.
Will looked up at you. An oxygen mask covering your mouth. The monitors showing your heart rate. Letting out a sigh. Just as he took a step, the door opened. Then shut. Will craned his neck seeing his disheveled brother.
Jay rushed over to you. Sitting on the chair Connor sat on. He grabbed ahold of your hand. Bringing it up towards his lips.
“My baby.” He sobbed. Kissing your hand repeatedly.
“She had to have a blood transfusion. She’s in an induced coma.” Will spoke. Making Jay cry.
“I promise you; I will find the person who did this to you.” He promised you. Looking at you as he kissed the back of your hand.
“I love you so much.” He sobbed.
“Please don’t die on me, please wake up.” He pleaded…...
