since i think last year ive been keeping my eye on the doomsday clock, like the yearly thing where they put out a report on the possibility of nuclear war and other stuff. apparently it’s still 90 seconds to midnight, which is still the worst it’s ever been since they started the thing.

more importantly though it’s really appalling and gross that in their report they called the current genocide in palestine a war. just feels especially intellectually and morally bankrupt to hear from an organization supposedly dedicated to trying to save lives. not that one should ever really expect anything from groups like this but you know

#trying not to use the word liberal bc it doesn’t feel quite right but idk what else to call this particular politic yknow #‘we are going to ask you very nicely not to nuke anyone. we’re not extremists’ energy #i also don’t want to hear shit about war being at all an appropriate descriptor for this in any context or circumstance #the connotations of equal agency and equal footing totally obscure the truth of the matter #it’s not a war. it’s a genocide and it’s a massacre.#it’s just really fucking pathetic of these guys not to take a stand
