The City of Enochia
Evan has been followed by a symbol all his life. When his uncle’s mysterious disappearance pulls him and his cousin into a new adventure to find the origin of this symbol, he meets Daniel, a young teacher at Oxford University. Together, they begin a quest that they might be more involved in than they realize.
As I'm writing down the stories, I thought I might add some things about the different characters in the story.
Evan Rigas, birthday March 13th, 1987. He was born on the island of Kos, Greece, where he grew up. He’s a recently graduated archaeologist who has been raised by his aunt and uncle after the mysterious death of his parents. When his uncle goes missing in search of a mysterious symbol, he enlists his cousin’s help to find the answers that have plagued him all of his life. He recently separated from his fiancée Donna, and has a big love for musicals.
Daniel Matis, birthday March 13th, 1987. He’s the youngest teacher at Oxford university, having a doctorate in theology and ancient languages. He has an older brother called James, and a twin sister Anaïs, who has disappeared in the search for a mysterious symbol. When his student Keith Rigas and Keith's cousin Evan come knocking at his door to find out more about this symbol, Dan takes this opportunity to find out where his twin might have gone to. Dan owns an appartment in London, where he also keeps his office. Dan identifies as non-binary, but has yet to come out about it. Despite that, he doesn't particularly care about what pronouns are used.
Keith Rigas, born December 4th, 1988. He was born on Kos, Greece, and he’s the cousin of Evan. Keith is currently enrolled in the university of Oxford for archaeology. He’s a student of Dan’s and the boyfriend of Devangi. Despite his current relationship, he’s been a bit of a heartbreaker in the past. Because of his exceptional looks, he’s often described as the ‘Greek God’ by his peers. He’s smart, but short-tempered.
Elín Amonssottìr, birthday May 12th, 1986. She’s the adoptive daughter of the world famous treasure hunter Amon Martenson. She’s a childhood friend of Dan’s, but disappeared after a misunderstanding between the two of them. She’s a plant biologist and has been trained to survive in the wilderness by her strict father. She's from Iceland, but usually resides in England.
Anaïs Matis, born March 13th, 1987, is the twin sister of Dan. After coming out as trans, Anaïs has taken a step away from her strict family and probably hasn’t seen them in years. She studied history and is well-trained in multiple languages thanks to her twin, Dan. She disappears during a search, without leaving any clue as to where she’s gone to.
Devangi Baral, born January 23rd, 1988, is a theology student of Dan’s and Keith’s girlfriend and classmate. She’s a transfer student from India and is really excited to have adventures of her own.
Thomas Rigas, born May 5th, 1961, is Evan’s uncle and Keith’s father. He took his brother’s loss hard and when he stumbles µ onto their journal from their last expedition, he intends on carrying it through and find out what they were looking for. He eventually disappears without another word, leading to Evan and Keith having to look for him across the world with only the journal to lead them.
Carla Da Silva, born December 8th, 1962, is the aunt of Evan and mother of Keith. While she and Thomas divorced and she’s not related to Evan by blood, she still took care of him like a son. She remarried years later and now owns a resort close to a beach in Kos, Greece.
Charlotte ‘Lotte’ Rigas, born August 18th, 1985, is the cousin of Evan and sister of Keith. While she used to go on adventures with them, a car accident has left her paralyzed from the waist down and unable to join them on expeditions. She returned to her home in Kos, Greece, and teaches history. She’s married to Ryan Hastings.
Amon Martenson, date of birth unknown, is Elìn’s father and a ruthless treasure hunter with no fear of getting his hands dirty - in the wrong way. It is thought that Amon was the one who got Evan’s parents killed for getting in his way, but so far he has never admitted to it.
Benedict Rigas, born April 16th, 1956, was Evan’s father and starting treasure hunter. He met Ellie on a short expedition and the two fell in love almost immediately. He died when Evan was very young, possibly killed by Amon.
Ellie Vermeer, born January 16th, 1956, was Evan’s mother and a former student of Amon Martenson. After realizing that his methods were too cruel, she quickly moved away from his side, eventually leading to her demise when Evan was only about four years old.
The archangel Daniel and her unnamed lover. They are recurring characters in this search for the symbol. According to the legends, Daniel rescued many people after the eruption of Vesuvius. In modern day, she's often referred to as Daphne.
The mysterious symbol that they are investigating.

From a screenshot of Uncharted. For the City of Enochia verse. At one point I imagine Sam being dragged into another treasure hunt along with his brother, and then there’s Jessica having to save his ass and ending up being pretty good at this treasure hunting business as well.
This drawing is probably not very special for others, but I’m weirdly proud of this one. Never have I been so happy about a computer-drawing, and I’m eager to try more things out now that I kinda got the hang of it!

New Release Roundup, 21 July 2018: Science Fiction
A latent psychic swears a vendetta against the aliens who invaded his home, a team of lawyers must prevent the ruin of two galaxies, and mecha mercenaries The Four Horsemen and Wardogs, Inc. both return to action in this week’s roundup of the newest releases in science fiction.
Battle Harem #1 – Isaac Hooke
Jason was a little short on creds so he decided to get his mind scanned. It seemed like a good idea at the time: get paid to license a copy of your mind for use in one of the numerous machines that run society. What could go wrong?
Turns out, a lot.
Jason wakes up in the middle of the radioactive wasteland that was created fifty years ago when aliens destroyed half the Earth. He has no idea why he’s here, or what the hell he’s supposed to do. Worst of all, he’s no longer human: his consciousness has been installed into the AI core of a state-of-the-art war machine, a mech with enough firepower to raze a small city.
Hunted by mutated alien bioweapons, Jason travels the wasteland in an attempt to piece together what happened. Along the way he encounters a few abandoned war machines that also have no memory of their mission, machines that can’t decide whether they want to join him or kill him. It doesn’t help that in VR they all look like super hot women.
Sometimes it’s tough being a machine.
When Jason and his new companions discover what they’re truly capable of, however, everything changes. And not necessarily for the better.
Dark Moon Arisen (The Four Horsemen Cycle: The Omega War #3) – Chris Kennedy and Mark Wandrey
The Omega War is in full swing. Earth has fallen to General Peepo’s army, and the surviving Human mercenaries have taken refuge at the hidden Winged Hussars’ base in New Warsaw.
On Earth, the defensive forces fight to keep the hearts and minds of their fellow Humans, but Peepo’s plans are slowly converting the people to her way of thinking, and the Mercenary Guild troops continue to root out the forces arrayed against them.
Outnumbered and on the run, the situation is bleak, but none of the Horsemen like being on the defensive. When they get intelligence that Peepo is massing resources at a secret base, they decide to launch a decisive counterattack that may open Earth up to recapture.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sato, the Hussar’s brilliant but unpredictable scientist, unwittingly reactivates a 20,000-year-old doomsday weapon with a mind of its own. If it can’t be stopped, all the Four Horsemen’s plans might become meaningless.
Forces are moving both in the shadows and in the light, but who will rise victorious? One thing is for sure…a Dark Moon has Arisen.
The Fall of Heaven – David S. Grunwell
In the wondrous megacity of Heavensport, robots do all the work allowing its three-quarters of a billion inhabitants free to pursue their passions.
Unfortunately for Rolland Newcastle, someone’s passion is to kill him. Stripped of his wealth, technology, and connections, is this the start of a worldwide purge?
Rolland inherited his troubles from his ancestors, the legal owners of the beautiful planet of New Jerusalem. After cryrosleeping for 223 years, they found that technological advances had allowed squatters’ ships to make the journey in just 3.5 years.
Arriving 200 years later, they found an established world that didn’t want them. The Fall of Heaven was just the start.
Forbidden Sanctuary (Star Lawyers #2) – Tom Shepherd
What terrible secrets will Tyler Matthews and his Star Lawyers discover within the Forbidden Sanctuary on the mysterious, sacred planet Adao-2?
Can the legal team from Matthews Interstellar Industries learn the truth in time to save M-double-I’s century-long quest to open Jump Gate Omega, bridge the 2.5 million light years to the Andromeda galaxy, and prevent economic ruin and war in the Milky Way?
While Tyler, J.B., Rosalie and Lucy (her shapeshifter cat) battle pirates and religious fanatics, Suzie and her holographic A.I. colleagues—former ladies of the night, re-purposed as legal assistants and starship crew– face an even deadlier foe. This unknown enemy threatens to delete all the starship Patrick Henry’s programs and terminate their existence forever.
To make matters worse, Cousin Esteban languishes in prison on Suryadivan Prime, where the former Catholic monk faces a death sentence for crimes he did not commit.
Galactic War (The Pike Chronicles #9) – G. P. Hudson
A crumbling empire. A galactic crusade. Humanity rising to power. Hidden enemies waiting to strike.
Eight years have passed since the Builders and the Dark Ones left the galaxy. In that time, Jon Pike has scored successive victories against the Juttari. Once he drives them out of Diakan space, his forces will be poised to finally strike at the heart of the ruthless Juttari Empire.
But, an unseen power is emerging from the shadows, threatening to destroy all of Jon Pike’s progress and plunge humanity into a new galactic war. Old enemies also continue to pose a deadly threat to the Admiral. Can Jon Pike avoid disaster for himself, humanity and the galaxy?
I Am Justice (The Frontiers Saga: Rogue Castes #9) – Ryk Brown
A chance to gain resources…
A need to prepare a defense…
A trap about to be sprung…
An opportunity for justice…
As his sister faces a critical moment, Captain Scott must chase his friends to regions he has yet to travel.
Sometimes, you just have to take risks for those you care about. Sometimes, quite often.
Incoming – Kevin Orr
The year is 2029, and World War III, which lasted all of 61 minutes, is history.
Nuclear combat destroyed all life on the surface of Earth, relegating mankind to a life underground.
Farrow Lind is tired of living like an insect.
He longs to join the select surface forces, the only group which ever sees daylight.
But when his squad veers off course, he finds himself entangled in the biggest conspiracy in the history of the human race.
“Don’t wanna give the story away but it doesn’t just have plots twists, the whole story is one huge plot twist.” – Amazon Reader Review
The Long-Range War (A Learning Experience #5) – Christopher G. Nuttall
The gloves have finally come off…
The Tokomak, the unquestioned masters of the galaxy, have dispatched a massive fleet to crush the Solar Union – and the fledgling Galactic Alliance – before the human race and its alien allies can tear the galactic order asunder. Hundreds of thousands of starships under the command of an alien tactical genius, bent on exterminating the entire human race…the darkest hour is truly at hand.
Admiral Hoshiko Stuart has a plan. The Solar Union will dispatch a fleet of its own, with the objective of smashing the alien fleet before it reaches Sol. But, as human technology clashes with alien treachery, experience and sheer numbers, it becomes clear that there can be only one victor…
…And whoever loses will lose everything.
Metal Monsters (Quantum Mortis: Wardogs, Inc. #3) – G. D. Stark
All war is murder for profit.
Some people are just more open about it.
WARDOGS INCORPORATED is one of the largest and most professional mercenary corporations operating in the Kantillon subsector. If you need a bodyguard, an assassination team, or an armored cavalry regiment complete with air support, Wardogs Inc. can provide it for you… for a very steep price.
The Stratocracy of Sfodria has ruled over its people with a very large steel fist for centuries. The giant mechs piloted by their nobles are all but invulnerable and have long served as the aristocratic shield against Sfodria’s enemies. But recently, their indestructible knights have been falling in battle at an unprecedented rate, and no one knows why. Desperate to reverse the fortunes of war before their nation falls to their hereditary enemy, the Stratocracy turns to Wardogs Inc. to train their ineffective and long-ignored militia.
Tommy Falkland and his fellow Wardogs aren’t on the job long before they begin to realize that they may be in well over their pay grade, as they are not dealing with a conventional human threat.
The Pride of the Damned (Cochrane’s Company #3) – Peter Grant
The shadow war started as a simple contract to defend a system against asteroid thieves. The harder Andrew Cochrane and Hawkwood Security fought, the worse things became. Now they find themselves embroiled in an interstellar war with an entire mafia!
Worse yet, the proceedings are so profitable – not to mention bloody – that they’ve attracted the attention of some of the worst criminal organizations in the galaxy. If Hawkwood is to survive, it’ll need all the wits, cunning and ingenuity it can muster – and the unwavering courage and dedication of its people.
The galaxy’s not big enough for both sides. One or the other will go to the wall.
Rogue Pilot (Space Scout #3) – Will Macmillian Jones
Frank Eric Russell was a Captain in The Free Union’s Space Corps, until a series of unfortunate events left him disgraced, dismissed and disgruntled. Now a renegade in an outdated scoutship, he makes a living on the margins of the galaxy in any way he can.
But Frank’s past is catching up with him. The Chief Enforcer of the decaying Galactic Empire, the fearsome Colonel Starker, wants to make Frank a horrible example to the rest of the galaxy of the penalties of crossing his path. The Followers of The Mad God Zog are not pleased by the damage to their holy space station that Frank caused when he escaped from their indoctrination program in a previous novel and want their revenge; and worst of all his old boss wants him back – to carry out some more life-threatening missions for him.
As he flies his elderly Speedbird across the less reputable parts of the galaxy, Frank finds himself living in interesting times…
Shadows of Divinity (The Enochian War #1) – Luke R. Mitchell
Enochia is compromised. The Sanctum. The Legion. The whole damn planet.
Carlisle calls them the raknoth. Red-eyed demons from Alpha knows where. He says they’re aliens. But then again, he also moves things with his freaking mind—a gift he swears lies dormant in me as well—so I’m starting to get a little unclear on what I can and can’t believe anymore. And I know what you’re thinking. A few days ago, I wouldn’t have believed me either.
Then I watched the High General of the Alpha-damned Legion sprout red eyes and tear my parents to bloody pieces.
I don’t know what the raknoth want. I don’t know how they’ve taken control of Enochia without anyone noticing. All I know is that they picked the wrong planet to screw with. Now, I have some questions. And a High General to kill.
My name is Haldin Rais, and I’m going to make them pay…
Target: Earth (Extinction Wars #5) – Vaughn Heppner
What if you could right your greatest regret?
Creed wishes he’d never left Jennifer behind in a dark and alien dimension where Abaddon transformed her into a superhuman killer. Creed helped kill Abaddon and put Jennifer in the Curator’s care—the only one with the hope of healing her—but guilt still gnaws at Creed.
Then one day Jennifer escapes from the Curator, with the pain of her lover’s abandonment driving her. She plans to hurt Creed like he hurt her, by destroying what he has worked so hard to save—the Earth.
When Creed learns this, he breaks his oath as the Galactic Effectuator, steals an advanced stealth ship, phase suit and weapons from the Curator and races home.
Time and incredibly deadly aliens under Jennifer’s control fight Creed. He desperately needs the help of Rollo, Ella and N7 if he hopes to protect humanity and right the greatest wrong of his life by saving Jennifer from the evil Abaddon has done to her.

Home We'll Go
Phil and Ming's story is in fact just a sims gameplay that grew out of hand. Phil is from the second generation of the game. When he went into university, I created Ming to become his roommate at the dorm, but I had no further plans with him. They got together all on their own.
The story of Phil and Ming has seen some change. Normally, Phil's name was Daniel, but as City of Enochia already has a Dan, I had to find another name for him. Phil's name is chosen as a bit of a reference to Dan & Phil.
Eventually, when I started writing the story, I decided to go through Ming's point of view rather than Phil's, just because I like the idea of Phil being this mysterious guy that slowly opens up. He's a complicated person, and I felt like I couldn't do him justice if I wrote from his perspective.
You can find out more about the characters here.

The City of Enochia
The progression of Dan & Evan's love story. I'm mostly grateful that Sims 4 poses exist so I have some continuity in my pose references.
It's not exactly an enemy-to-lovers storyline, as Dan & Evan could not be described as enemies. It's just that they didn't get along at first, but eventually their relationship started to shift.
To read more about the characters, check out this link!

Possibly one of the first drawings I made of Evan and Daniel, maybe two years ago now. As it's the first post I'm making on this profile, I'd like to explain who these two are!
Evander Rigas is a Greek man from distant Arabic origin who studied archaeology in the Netherlands. His parents died off mysterious causes while searching for the meaning a mystic symbol when he was still young, so he was raised by his uncle and aunt. He has two cousins; Lotte and Keith. All three of them have pulled into his Uncle Tom's obsession with treasure hunting - which eventually led to him divorcing Aunt Carla.
Years later, after graduating from Leiden University, it comes to his attention that his Uncle has continued his parents' quest for the symbol and has disappeared without a word; the only clue he left behind was his mother's journal about this quest they've been on before they died. While he wants to save his uncle from probable doom, some part of him is simply curious about this symbol that seems to have taken over his life.
Daniel Matis is the youngest teacher at Oxford University, often even younger than the students in his class. He lives in London, has a twin sibling, Anaïs, and an older brother called James. Dan has a doctorate in Ancient literature, theology and anthropology, making him one of the youngest people to have achieved something like that. Dan is approached by Evan and Keith during their search for Evan's uncle, and Dan is pulled along in the whole quest for his own personal interest in the symbol Thomas Rigas seems to be chasing after.
Dan is shy and is often called socially inept by his mother, so going on a quest with a man who clearly does not want him there probably isn't the best idea he's ever had before... but who knows what will happen?
Just in the process of tweaking out some more of the mistakes, and in search for a english-speaker beta-reader, and then I might finally convince myself to give publishing this thing a go! I figure I'll add updates here, as some sort of diary for myself ^^
The story is a bit of Uncharted and Indiana Jones combined with Supernatural. It contains enemies to lovers, angels and violence, but I'm hoping to make quite the love-story with this thing ^^
I should also introduce Keith Rigas, Evan's younger cousin. He's nicknamed 'the Greek God' at school for his good looks, and while he used to avoid relationships like the plague, he eventually found love in his classmate, Devangi. Keith has an older sister, Lotte, who still lives in Rhodos. While they used to go on expeditions together, an accident with caused for her to be paralyzed from the waist down prevented her from joining them.
Keith is perceptive, but he doesn't have Evan's smarts, which he is very much aware of.

Just as Dean puts down the towel and watches Cas do the same thing a group of kids come runnign by as they storm towards the sea. From where he’s standing, he can see Jack looking at them hopefully, clearly wanting to join them with their games even though he doesn’t even know these kids.
“You wanna go play, kiddo?” he asks the seven-year-old. Jack looks up at his father, nodding in excitement. Next to them, Cas chuckles before diving into his backpack.
“You know what to do first, right?” the former archangel asks teasingly, holding up the bottle of sunscreen. Jack groans in annoyance.
“Nooooo!” he complains, sagging his shoulders and throwing his head back. It’s the thing he hates the most about going to the beach. Dean laughs along with his husband, putting his hands onto Jacks small shoulders.
“You know the rules, sport.”
“You first!” Jack points at Cas, glaring at the infernal bottle of sunscreen. The man frowns for a short second before bursting into laughter.
“I can work with that,” he admits. He lifts up his shirt, throwing it to the side and holding out the bottle in Jack’s direction. “You want to do the back?”
“Yes!” Jack takes the bottle and runs behind his father, squirting a ridiculously large amount of sunscreen into his hands. As it touches Cas’ skin, the man lets out a surprised gasp.
Dean watches in amusement, sitting down and seeing that the white doesn’t spread out as evenly as Jack had hoped, leaving Cas’ back ghostly pale. When Jack’s small hands move to Cas’ shoulder, he stops when he gets to the symbol. The form of it like a scar underneath his fingers. Dean knows the feel well enough thanks to the identical mark on his own left shoulder. Without realizing it, he touches it as well, always finding a comfort into it.
“What’s this, papa?” Jack asks. Cas’ eyes find Dean’s immediately. They knew the kid would eventually start asking questions about it.
“It’s some sort of treasure map,” he answers. He turns to take Jack’s hands and clean them off with a towel he takes out of the bag. His back is still white, but Dean’ll fix that later. For now they have this little detail to deal with.
“Really?” Jack’s eyes widen. Dean smiles as he reaches out for his son, pulling him closer until he’s seated on his lap. Jack leans back against him, putting his head onto his shoulder. “You like treasure maps?”
“Your dad used to follow treasure maps as a job,” Cas tells him fondly. He starts spreading out more sunscreen over his own arms and chest.
“You did?” Jack turns to look at him with wide eyes. Dean chuckles, kissing the boy’s forehead before pulling him into a strong hug.
“Yeah. But this particular treasure map lead me to the greatest treasure ever.” Dean then blinks in Cas’ direction before correcting himself. “The two greatest treasures ever.”
“What was that? Is it at home somewhere? Is it the TV?”
Cas laughs it out loud, and Dean has to hold himself back as well.
“I’m holding it right now,” he clarifies. Jack frowns, looking down at himself before pointing towards his own chest. When Dean nods, his eyes widen.
“What?” he asks in surprise.
“You know what, we’ll tell you the entire thing tonight before you go to bed, okay?” It’s Cas who says this, clearly sensing a nice bedtime story in this opportunity. Jack looks excited, grinning from ear to ear before nodding.
“Daddy’s got the symbol, too, right?” he then asks, pulling up Dean’s left sleeve onto his shoulder, revealing the same brand on the skin as well. With wide eyes he takes it in, passing his finger over it. Dean is so distracted with his son studying it so closely that he’s barely aware of Cas pulling up the camera.
“Give me a nice pose,” Cas says, pulling Dean out of his train of thought. Dean grins, flexing up his arm so as to accentuate his muscles. Quickly, Jack does the same, pouting a bit with his lips as he attempts to make a kissy-face. Dean decides to do the same.
Once the picture is taken Jack seems to be distracted enough. He pulls his shirt over his head, takes the bottle of sunscreen from the ground and pushes it into Cas’ hands.
“I wanna go swim! Hurry!”
Cas rolls his eyes, putting a normal amount of sunscreen into his hand and spreading it over his son’s face, arms, legs, chest and back. Just when Jack is about to run away to the shore, he pulls him back.
“Wait, I forgot your neck!” Jack groans, but eventually he’s freed from his father’s hands. With a squeal he runs to the ocean, leaving his two parents seated on the sand. Dean chuckles, rolling his eyes before shuffling closer to Cas.
“You ready to spill it all out tonight?” he asks teasingly. He gestures for Cas to turn so he can spread out the sunscreen on his back some more. Turning it into a massage at the same time might just be his way of spoiling his husband. Gently, he kisses him on the back of the neck.
“I’m not sure,” Cas returns. “He knows we aren’t his real parents but I don’t know how he’ll react to the actual truth...”
“He’ll be fine,” Dean assures him. He pulls on Cas’ shoulder, making him lean back until he’s resting against his chest. Pulling his face up by the chin, he carefully kisses his lips. Cas grins, letting out a laughing snort and making Dean pull back.
“Sorry, I’m just reminded of how much of a treasure I am to you,” he teases. Dean rolls his eyes.
“Shut up, asshole,” Dean mutters back pressing their lips together once more.
“Oh no, you’re never hearing the end of that one,” Cas returns in between kisses. He raises his hand, passing it through Dean’s hair and holding on to him. Meanwhile, Jack is joining the other kids into the water, laughing excitedly as he runs towards a wave before trying to escape it as well.
It’s going to be a good day.

From the City of Enochia verse. Another screenshot from Uncharted 4 (Don’t have link of it because it’s a screenshot I took myself during gameplay)
i’m not too happy with it. Something’s bothering me about it, but I can’t place what.
There’s little Iakobo (Jack) asleep while his Dad tries out one of his racing games, with his other Dad looking at his husband with that ridiculous fond look in his eyes. Things are really incredibly domestic.
Probably too domestic. Obviously something’s gonna happen eventually, right?
