Touch - Ch. 4
Poly!141 x chunky!reader tw: little smutty at the end
The Next Day. Saturday.
Anxiety. First date anxiety to be exact and it had your stomach in knots. You’d woken to no alarm, blissfully off work that day and lounging in bed for a few minutes had been nice until you were hit with a pang in your stomach when you remembered you had a date with Price that night. Suddenly, you couldn’t lay in bed anymore. Tossing off the covers and heading to the kitchen, you brewed some tea to try to calm the racing of your heart while you mentally worked through everything you’d need to accomplish today before said date.
Only after tearing through your closet did you settle on a black dress that had been hanging in the back for ages. It hugged your curves in all the right places without making you self conscious about the curves you didn’t like. You’d originally bought it for an anniversary dinner with Kit, but when he’d canceled with the excuse that his job needed him to stay late (or in reality, your cousin insisted he come over), it never saw the light of day. What better time to wear it than on a date with a new man?
You quickly found that John Price was not one to be tardy to anything. He’d shown up five minutes before eight, waiting patiently at the door while you called from inside that you were coming. Opening the door to your flat as you wiggled on your heels, you were presented with a bouquet of hyacinths and lilacs decorated with sprigs of baby’s breath. “Johnny said they were your favorite,” Price shrugged, giving you a warm smile as you invited him in and took the flowers to inhale their sweet scent. Your eyes traveled from the bouquet to his outfit for the evening and internally groaned at how handsome he looked in the maroon button up that stretched over his chest and biceps and black slacks that you decided you wouldn’t mind seeing on the bedroom floor.
“Please, make yourself at home. I just need to get these into a vase and then we can leave,” you stated before rushing into the kitchen, Price’s eyes glued to your backside as you disappeared. Quickly, you filled a vase and dropped the bouquet into the water, admiring it with a girlish giddiness and promising yourself that you’d properly set it up once you returned.
When you returned to the living room, Price was looking over the bookshelves surrounding your TV and you walked over to join him. “This is my favorite,” you said, reaching up to hook your finger over the spine of a well-loved book, pulling it out and handing it to him. “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” Price’s gruff voice stated, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips and he looked you over with an appreciative gaze. You were smart. Just one more thing to adore about their shiny new toy.
“I love the fantasy, but also the deeper meanings behind it,” you replied, blushing lightly as you took the book and put it back in its place on the shelf. “Maybe one day we’ll talk a bit more about it,” you added, knowing if you started in on the intricacies of Lewis Carrol’s famous book, you’d never shut up. Price nodded and checked his watch before his hand came to rest against the small of your back. “We should get going, little bird. We have reservations,” Price spoke softly, his mustache twitching with his words.
John Price was known to be a man with endless self control, but you seemed to be the exception. As the two of you made your way downstairs, his blue hues stayed glued to your form, taking in the way the dress accentuated your waist without hiding your wide hips. The short kitten heels that clicked on the stairs made your calves flex and contract in a way that made his mouth water. And he couldn’t ignore the way your hair shined in the light of the lamp post outside next to his truck.
As you not so gracefully clambered into his truck, you noticed a figure on the far side of the street bearing the same skull mask you’d seen weeks before. Why did it seem so familiar? But then Price had your attention as he climbed behind the wheel and when you looked back, the shadow was gone. It made your brows furrow, but you shook off the feeling it left you with, choosing to focus on your date.
The restaurant was nice, not too fancy, but definitely warranted your more formal attire. “Two for Price,” he stated to the host, voice rough but polite. He’d offered you his arm after opening the truck door for you and you’d accepted, sliding your hand into the crook of his elbow. The two of you followed the host to your table in the corner, Price pulling out your chair in a show of gentlemanly chivalry before taking his seat with his back to the wall.
The waiter arrived, greeting Price like an old friend and it made something in your chest tighten. How many other dates had he brought here? But your concerns were quickly dealt with when the prettiest man you’d ever seen approached the table. “Price! Wonderful to see you again,” the man turned to you now, leaning down to take your hand and kiss the back of it. “And you must be the pretty lass Price and So- Johnny can’t seem to stop talking about.”
You blushed a fierce red, head turning to look at Price who seemed to be a bit pinker than before. “Aw, hush it, mate. Little bird, this is Kyle, a friend of ours and the owner’s son,” Price introduced with a small smirk and your head swiveled back to look up at the man standing next to you. “It’s a lovely restaurant. I suppose that’s where you learned to cook? Johnny can’t stop talking about your food,” you replied, giving him a kind smile. “Ah, he’d have more to say if he took more than a second to taste it. Mate inhales food like it’s going to disappear,” Kyle chuckled and raised his hand to rub the top of his head before sliding down to wrap around the back of his neck. “Well, I’ll leave you two to it. It’s on the house, Cap.” Kyle bent to take your hand again, kissing the back before standing straight. It left you staring at the spot on your hand while Kyle winked at Price over your head before disappearing into the back.
For now, you perused the menu even though you knew you’d be ordering a salad. “What looks good to you?” Price asked, leaning over and incidentally against you as he looked at your menu, rather than his own. “Oh, I was just going to order a salad. They look pretty good,” you muttered back, feeling heat rise on the back of your neck. “Just because I call you little bird, doesn’t mean you need to eat like one. Get a steak, or pasta. Something you’ll enjoy,” he insisted, warmth pouring from his expression. You flushed and muttered that the steak looked fantastic and he nodded, proud that you’d listened to him. “Good girl,” he praised and you were pretty sure your stomach had dropped out of your ass, the color lingering on your cheeks turning darker.
The dinner went by without a hitch once you’d conceded that the steak was worth it and much better than your original choice of a salad. You’d surprised him when you asked the waiter for a glass of whiskey neat, adding another reason the boys would adore you.
Afterwards, the two of you headed back to your flat, chattering along as if the pair of you weren’t essentially strangers. The closer you got, the more your previous anxiety reared its ugly head. The evening had been wonderful and John was nothing less than a perfect gentleman, so when you entered your flat with him on your heels, you offered him a drink and disappeared into the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Price was pulling out his phone and quickly updating the boys on the night, chuckling at their outrage at the lack of information he was providing. Shoving his phone back in his pocket when he heard you coming back out, you presented him with a glass of bourbon from your stash and settled next to him on the couch with your own glass.
“So, Cap, huh?” you pressed, watching his reaction to your inquisition. Most of the night had been about you. Your job. Your car. Why you were in England instead of the US. But you still knew next to nothing about him besides he liked his liquor hard and he could fix a car. Price grunted in response before dragging a hand down his face to scratch at his beard. “Captain. I lead a task force that is made up of the boys, Johnny, Kyle, and Simon,” his words were crisp and short, letting you know that was the only information you’d get about their jobs right now.
But you were trying to not be a wet rag when it came to letting things lie. “I see. So that means you guys go out there and do super secret missions for the government?” you asked, tone teasing in an effort to keep the conversation light. Price nodded before getting up off the couch, making the furniture creek with the weight being lifted off of it. He paced to your window, looking down at the street below.
You stood, kicking off your heels before joining him at the window. His gaze moved from the street back to you and you had to fight back the gasp as the piercing blue of his eyes seemed smaller, taken over by the black of his pupils. Your heart hammered as he took your glass, knocked back the remaining liquid before setting it on the window sill. His hand raised to push a stray lock of hair back from your face, tucking it behind your ear before his palm was settling against the softness of your jaw.
“Tell me to stop,” Price whispered, leaning down slowly to give you a moment to process just exactly what he wanted you to stop. But you didn’t, pressing up onto the balls of your feet to close the distance. His lips were gentle against yours, ever so slightly chapped, but his mustache and beard were soft against your skin and you hummed into the kiss. Your body instinctually leaned into his, hands finding the bulging biceps under the fabric of his shirt while his free hand found the dip of your waist.
A low growl from him and a soft sigh from you bounced between the two of you as he pulled back, his gaze meeting yours as he searched for any sign you’d like to stop. But when all he found was round eyes and a soft smile on your parted pout, he grinned and resumed ravaging your lips and tasting every inch of your mouth with his tongue.
His large hand drifted down from your jaw to wrap lightly around your throat as his thumb slid up and down over your pulse point. Your chin tilted up and he pulled away, breath heavy and hot between you as he smirked down at the pretty bird he’d caught in his trap. “Mm, as much as I’d love to take you right here in front of the window so the whole world knows who you belong to, I’m too much of a gentleman to do so on the first date,” he breathed against your lips, voice low and you almost whined in response.
His words made your legs weak at the knees, body reacting to the first hint of physical affection you’d had in months, possibly years. “What if I asked you to?” you quipped back, unaware of where your bravado was coming from. A chuckle and a shake of his head were the response you were given before he was stepping back, though his hand never left your waist while the other dropped to join it. “I would tell you to be patient, pretty bird” he growled back, his hold on his self control quickly slipping while his grip on your waist tightened.
Price rested his forehead against yours, panting softly before he let his control slip a little in a very rare ‘fuck it’ moment. His hands slid from your waist to grasp the fat of your ass through your dress, roughly pulling you to him as he pressed his lips back against yours in a heated kiss. Your own hands clutched at the front of the pretty maroon button up, tugging at the fabric in a desperate attempt to get even closer to him. He turned you, pressing you against the brick of the wall as he pinned you between it and him.
You could feel his arousal through his trousers, pressing against the soft flesh of your tummy as the two of you kissed like rabid teens. He gathered your hands together in one of his, pinning them over your head while the other explored your curves; over your waist, your hips, down over your plush thighs. When he pulled back to rake his gaze over your breathless form, you could see his mustache curling up with his lips in a smirk before he was leaning forward to press soft kisses along your throat.
“You have no idea what we could do to you. Such a pretty little thing,” he muttered against your sensitive skin while his free hand ran up the inside of your thighs. ‘We? Who is we?’ you thought briefly before you felt the heat of his thick digits against the gusset of your panties. A soft moan left your parted lips, swollen from kisses while your legs spread of their own accord and his resounding groan let you know he felt the same as you.
Then why was he releasing you? Stepping away as he dropped his hands from your body and he regained control of himself. You looked up to him with confusion, still leaning against the wall as if your legs would give out if you tried to walk. “I told you, I’m too much of a gentleman,” he chuckled, coming back to give you one more sweet, short kiss. “Don’t worry, little bird, you haven’t seen the last of me.”
Thank you so much for the support! I appreciate it so much! Price is a little mean, but he'll make it up to her.

hiiii, could you do a fic of Black album! James where he sees his girl holding a baby at a family gathering… and then when they get home, he fucks her n breeds her (getting possessive over her) 🤭????
THIS IS SO GOOD AND IM SOOO HAPPY WITH HOW IT TURNED OUT OMGGGG
𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: breeding kink, talk of pregnancy, impregnation, creampie, unprotected sex
𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄 ¹⁹⁹³
The late afternoon sun colored the backyard as I found myself surrounded by all the laughter and shrieks of children. It was one of those huge family gatherings on my side, the kind where every cousin, aunt, and uncle seems to come out of the woodwork. Today, it felt like more kids than usual were around, and one could hardly help getting caught in their fun, especially me.
I had the youngest of them all balanced on my hip, a nearly one year old boy with large, wide, hazel eyes and a tuft of dark hair that was just starting to grow in. His chubby hands clutched at my shirt, and every now and then, he'd giggle, amused with the older children. It was a form of complex tag it seemed, with lots of running and screaming and theatric tumbles onto the grass.
I couldn't help but join in with them, who could resist? My laughter joined with theirs as I became their willing playmate.
"Watch this!" said one of the older girls, rolling out in a cartwheel with enthusiasm only a seven year old could muster.
"That's amazing!" I said, impressed. "I don't think I can do that. Can you show me again?"
Their faces lit up and they happily repeated their tricks and stunts for me, each one competing for my attention. The little guy on my hip clapped his hands to the spectacle surrounding him. I bounced him gently to keep him engaged.
"Look, Auntie! I made a fairy house!" one of the girls, probably about 5, tugged at my hand, pulling me toward some sort of pile constructed of sticks and leaves.
"It's beautiful," I said, crouching down to inspect it closely. "I bet the fairies will love it! They might even have a tea party, it's that nice."
There was something so pure, so refreshing about the way children experienced the world, and I had always been drawn to their whim.
I turned then to where James was standing, chatting away with some of my uncles beside the grill, with that relaxed smile that always kept my heart going.
Our eyes met for that second. He watched me, his gaze soft, and a look that I couldn't just place. I smiled back at him, giving a little wave, and returned my attention to the kids, who were now begging I join them in a game of tag.
Afternoon slipped into early evening when the colors in the sky changed, and it wasn't long before it was time for James and I to return home. The kids closed in around me, their faces falling as they realized it was time for goodbyes.
"Do you have to go?" one of them asked, the big, brown eyes broad with disappointment.
"I do," I said gently, stooping down to their level. "But I'll see you all again, okay?"
Each in turn gave me tight hugs, their little arms wrapped around my neck. The boy, who rode my hip, was the last of these goodbyes, and as I turned over this chunky little one to his mother, he gave a small wave that nearly compressed my heart into tiny pieces.
The ride home was quiet but comfortable, the way things with James always were. James reached across to take my hand, his thumb running lightly over my knuckles.
"You were really great with them today," he said after a few minutes, his voice reflecting something I'd almost never heard from him before.
"Thanks," I said, squeezing his hand. "They're sweet kids. I love being able to spend some time with them."
He didn't say anything for a bit then, and I felt something unsaid lingering in the air. I turned back tohim in the dim light of the car. His jaw was set like it always did when he was stuck in thought.
"What's on your mind?" I asked gently, giving his hand another squeeze.
He looked at me, his blue eyes reflecting a mixture of emotions that I couldn't decipher. "It's just- watching you with them today. You were so sweet, kinda motherly. It was really nice."
My cheeks got warm at his words. "Thank you, honey. I guess I just like being around kids. They bring out a different side of me."
"I could see that," he smiled. We arrived come and James and I continued to chat, falling beside each other on the couch.
James' eyes locked onto mine. But his look was no longer serious as it had been earlier but playful, mischievous almost.
"You know," he began. "Seeing you today with all those kids... made me realize how lucky I am to have you."
I blushed at the unbidden praise. "Oh stop," I said, nudging him with my shoulder. "You're just saying that.."
He smirked, seemingly amused with me. "No, really. You've got this way with kids. It's- well, it's kinda sexy."
I laughed, shaking my head. "Sexy? Really? I'm covered in grass stains and probably smell like sweat and sunscreen."
"Sexy as hell," he persisted with a grin, coming closer. His hand slid up my thigh. "You know what else I realized?"
"What's that?" I asked, a thin whisper as I played along.
He leaned over, whispering in my ear. "I realized how much I want to see you like that all the time. With our own kids."
His confession excited me to no end. I could hardly believe the words coming out of his mouth. "You think you're ready for that?" I teased, my own hand tracing circles on his chest.
"Oh, I'm more than ready," he murmured, his lips trailing down my neck. "Just the thought of you, all round and glowing with our baby inside you… it's driving me mad."
I tingled again, breath catching in my throat. "James," I whispered, the heat pooling in my belly.
"You know what else?" he went on still husky. "I can't seem to get the thought of making that happen out of my head. Right now."
His lips skimmed my neck. My skin was exposed as his hands slipped under my shirt to stroke it. "I want you, here and now," he pleaded.
"Yes," I breathed, bowing into his heat. "James, please."
Our kisses grew more feverish, desperate, as our hands wandered each other's body.
"I need to see you pregnant with our child," he whispered. "To know that I put that baby inside you."
James stood up and effortlessly scooped me into his arms. I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck as he moved to the bedroom.
"You're so beautiful when you laugh," he said lowly, I remember him saying the same thing on our wedding night. "I can't wait to see you smiling carrying our baby."
As we entered our bedroom, James released me onto my feet and we began to undress each other frantically, our hands fumbling in our haste.
His lips found mine again, and our kisses were of hunger and desperation. "I want to fill you up," he growled against my mouth, his hands rising up my sides and pulling my shirt off my head.
I moaned, my words swallowed by his lips as we continued stripping away the cloth between us. His hands were everywhere, mapping out every inch of my skin.
"You're going to look so beautiful with your belly round, carrying my child," he whispered, his breath burning against my ear as he unclasped my bra and let it fall to the floor. "I want everyone to know that you're mine, that I put a baby inside of you... our baby."
"James," I gasped, my fingers digging as I tugged against his pants, needing to feel his skin against mine.
That was all, then. The rest of my clothes followed, and he pulled me the very short distance onto the bed and against him. His bare skin against mine was such a perfect and familiar feeling.
He kissed me again fully, his tongue playing around in my mouth as his hands slid down to hold on to my hips, positioning me under him.
He oozed with this desire, a need so great that it was a physical itch in him. "Make me yours," I whispered back, my voice trembling at just the mere thought of him doing so.
He groaned, just needing to get out all his desires verbally. "I'm gonna fill you up real nice," he promised. And James was a man of his word. "I'm goings make you pregnant, make sure everyone knows you belong to me."
With that, he entered me, the width of his cock stretching me, readying me for what was to come. I whined, my legs wrapping around his waist as I pulled him farther into me.
"James," I moaned, my fingers digging into his shoulders. "Yes, please!"
He started to move, and he picked up his pace while he thrust into me with every stroke, this insane, desperate, insatiable need to impregnate me. "You feel so good," he murmured through clenched teeth.
His words drove me wild, my body arching against his as we moved together in perfect sync. "Yes, James... don't stop," I gasped, my nails dragging down his back and surely leaving vulgar scrapes.
The room was stuffed full with the sounds of our passion, the creak of the bed, the gasps and moans that escaped our lips. James wouldn't let up, his thrusts motivated by something primal, needed to take me, to mark me as his.
"Gonna make you pregnant," he repeated again, his voice like an animal growl. "Gonna fill you up, make sure you're carrying my child."
His words pushed me straight over the edge, and I shouted, my body clenching around his member as I shuddered and peaked.
His climax was violent, his breath locking in the throat as he held himself inside me, reaching deep into my womb with his cum. His release had infused a tide of warmth within me. I clung to him, holding him tighter than I ever had before.
James remained inside me, body still shaking with the aftereffects. He laid his forehead against mine, his exhale hot on my skin. "You did so good, baby," he whispered, "You took me so well."
A tear slid out of my eye, and I felt like I was drowning in the depth of our love, by the passion we had shared between us just now. "I love you." My voice shook and broke.
He swept away the tear with a thumb. "I love you too," he whispered. "More than anything."
"You're going to be such a perfect mother," he told me, glancing down at me with a satisfied smile.
I grinned, pressing a lasting kiss to his cheek. "And you are going to be such an amazing father."

heyy!! so i have this idea but i would never be able to write it myself bc i suck at that 😭
i‘d love to see this with any of matthew lillards characters or just himself so its up to you 🫶🏼
maybe smth where he takes reader as his +1 to a wedding and they realise that they like each other more than just as friends while they‘re dancing 🥹
Tim Laflour x Reader
I loved this request, I think it came out really cute!!
“Will I have to wear a suit?” Tim grimaces when you ask him to be your plus one to your cousin’s wedding.
You weren’t thrilled when you’d received the invitation. You know your family won’t expect you to have anyone to bring, and you’d love to prove them wrong. You and Tim are just friends, but they don’t have to know that. And the chance to see Tim dressed up is too exciting to miss.
“No, it’s not that formal. Probably just a dress shirt, some nice pants? I ask you to pretend to be my boyfriend and you’re worried about your outfit?” You laugh and he blushes.
“Well yeah, pretending to be your boyfriend should be easy. Wearing a suit? Yuck,” he explains like it doesn’t make your stomach lurch with hope. Maybe this isn’t the best idea with the crush you have on him…
“So will you come?” You hit him with your best puppy eyes and he sighs heavily.
“Like I could say no to you,” he smiles wryly as you bounce excitedly.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
~
“It’s open!” Tim calls when you knock on his door the day of the wedding. When you enter Tim is just leaving his room, fiddling with his cuffs.
“Should I take out my piercings?” He worries, but you’re busy trying not to drool looking at him. The sleek all black outfit he’s wearing might actually be killing you. As you stare, you notice the little touches of his style. His lock necklace, the rolled sleeves, a chain hanging from his belt, his usual chunky boots. All of it makes you smile. You’re so busy staring at his clothes that you don’t see the moment he looks up from his sleeve, gaping at the velvet dress that adorns your figure.
“Why would you take out your piercings?” You finally look up at him. His face is flushed and he swallows hard before answering you. “Will your family be okay with them?” He looks nervous and you frown.
“Who cares? They probably wouldn’t be pleased with anyone I brought. I want to bring you, not some weird naked-faced version of you,” you tell him, making him laugh.
“Besides, you look good,” you emphasize as he squirms at the compliment.
“Okay,” he smiles bashfully, “let’s get going, eh?”
~
It’s not until you’re at the wedding reception, fielding questions from your family that you realize maybe you should’ve discussed your fake relationship’s backstory.
All through dinner one of your cousins had quizzed you on your relationship like she thought you weren’t actually dating and was trying to catch you in a lie. She was right, but you’d be damned if you let her figure that out. Tim had done wonderfully, answering politely, telling cute stories about you, flashing that sweet smile. He was a damned good actor. You’d done your best to fill in helpfully to the conversation, while barely able to think of anything but wiping that snobby look off her face. Once they cut the cake, you see your chance out of the conversation and take it.
“Oh, let’s get some cake!” You tap Tim’s arm.
“Sweet tooth,” he teases, making your stormy mood dissolve.
Once you make it to the cake table, Tim grabs a large piece.
“Wow, who’s the sweet tooth now?” You poke.
“All the pieces are huge, I figured we could share,” he hands you a second fork you didn’t see him grab, “that okay?”
“Yeah, good idea,” you smile fondly. You’re surprised when he spears a bite, holding it out to you. You blush as you take it, the action feeling strangely intimate. You groan at the sugar bursting across your tongue.
“Damn, that’s good cake,” you mumble after swallowing and he laughs. You both scoot towards the wall to get out of everyone’s way, sharing the cake slice while people watching.
As you’re finishing, you see your aunt walking towards you out of the corner of your eye.
“Oh fuck,” you mumble, knowing she never holds her tongue. You lean over to whisper in Tim’s ear, his arm coming around your waist to steady you.
“Sorry in advance,” you whisper and he chuckles, trying to keep his face neutral.
“Hello dear,” your aunt drawls, already setting your teeth on edge, “who’s this?”
“This is Tim, my boyfriend,” you smile at him, winding your arm around his waist and squeezing lightly.
“So how did you end up with him?” Your aunt asks and it takes everything in you not to roll your eyes at her and the way she’s sneering at him.
“We met at school. As soon as I saw her, I knew I was done for,” Tim cuts in with a smile before you can say something scathing. His hand on your waist squeezes placatingly and you can feel your grip relax from where you’d balled it up in Tim’s shirt without realizing.
Your aunt hums noncommittally and you find yourself terribly in need of a drink.
“I think we’re gonna head over to the bar,” you plaster a forced smile on your face and drag Tim with you.
“If looks could kill, she’d be dead,” Tim laughs when you make it to the bar.
“She was being a bitch,” you scowl as you land on a barstool, which only makes Tim laugh harder. He leans around you, ordering your favorite drink and something for himself. Him rattling off your order easily makes your frown melt away. You thank him with a smile when he takes the drink from the bartender, handing it to you before settling onto the stool next to you. Sipping at your drink, you glance around the room at the other guests. You roll your eyes when you see your aunt whispering to your uncle and pointing to spots on her face. You just know she’s saying something insulting about Tim’s piercings. Tim’s hand finds your knee where the slit of your dress exposes it, his thumb rubbing soothingly. Your tummy erupts in butterflies as his warmth seeps into your skin.
“Oh I love this song,” you mention offhandedly as the music changes.
“Let’s dance,” Tim suggests and you laugh.
“You know I can’t dance,” you scoff, not wanting to embarrass yourself.
“Who cares? You don’t have to be good at it, it’ll be fun either way,” he nudges you and you groan.
“Alright, fine,” you grumble, quickly downing the rest of your drink, making Tim snort. He drags you by the hand out to the dance floor, immediately breaking into the goofiest dance move that makes you laugh embarrassingly loud. He takes both of your hands, pulling you into a series of made up dances before releasing one hand and twirling you less than gracefully. You’re out of breath from laughter when you’re spun back into Tim’s chest. The music shifts and you realize it’s changed to a slow dance. You pick yourself up off Tim but he pulls you back to his chest.
“Dance with me,” he murmurs, and you couldn’t say no to that face even if you wanted to. Your hands drape around his neck as his find your waist. As the two of you sway gently, Tim can’t help but take in every detail of you.
“You’re staring,” you tease.
“You’re beautiful,” he counters, a blush lighting up your face.
“You don’t have to pretend when no one’s around,” you remind him and he frowns.
“I’m not pretending. You look beautiful,” he murmurs, still gently swaying you. You’ve never seen him look so sincere and it makes your stomach swoop dangerously.
“In fact, I’m tired of pretending. Like I don’t want to tell you you’re beautiful everyday, like I haven’t wanted to kiss you since the moment we met,” he admits, eyes flicking to your lips.
Your fingers weave into the hair at the nape of his neck without thought as you pull him to you, pressing your lips to his tentatively. He melts into the kiss, tension bleeding out of his shoulders as he slots his lips against yours more confidently. When you finally pull away to breathe he starts pressing little kisses all over your face and you’re breathless with laughter once again, giggling and squirming in his arms.
“Tim, people are looking,” you try to admonish him, but your laughter makes it less effective.
“Let them,” he grins, pulling you into another kiss.

Lol imagine Carmy hiring a chef like this- Him letting her wear all pink to work , even a pink apron, and she’s super bubbly and smiley and sweet, very different than her coworkers shshhs
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8Fe5s7F/
A/n- omg yes. Absolutely. I loved this so much I wanna write about it. It’s short buttt whatever might make a part 2. Sorry I haven’t posted I started classes and I’ve been busy ):
𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞
Carmen needed new hires, his busy schedule and life was starting to get to him, and everyone was tired.
And it wasn’t going the best until you had showed up.
You were early to the interview, which everyone was surprised about. You smiled and talked to the man in the front, while waiting for Carmen.
“Cousin!”
“What?” A man groaned in annoyance.
“Said she’s here for an interview.”
“Hi. Hello, I thought that wasn’t until…” he checked his phone for the time. “That’s not until like… 30 minutes.
“I like to be early.” You shrugged, smiling sweetly at the man.
It wasn’t until then that he really looked at your appearance, wearing a pink crop top and pink flared leggings.
Your pink lipstick, and your lipgloss to top it off made him all very confused. He looked down, noticing that you had on chunky heels and a tote bag on your side.
Your smile remained even as the man had the most confused look on his face as he looked you up and down.
“Okay. If you wanna start now..?”
“Sure!” You said, following him as he started to walk.
You both sat down, you pulled out a paper from your tote bag.
“Here’s my resume. I know I probably don’t look like it, but I’m a great cook. I went to ICE. And I-“
He stopped reading the paper and looked up at you when you said that again.
“You went to ICE?” He said.
You nodded.
“That’s… that’s amazing.” He said, nodding and looking back to the paper.
He then put it down, and looked at you again.
“So, why are you here if you went to ICE?”
“I grew up here. My family would come in a lot, and I heard it was under new ownership. After I graduated I came back.”
He listened to every word carefully, your smile and your bubbly personality drawing him in.
♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎
He hired you, obviously. Everyone seemed to love you, and even Richie had enjoyed talking to you.
Carmy however, was hesitant. At first he wasn’t sure if you were real.
You were amazing at making and decorating cakes. And you even taught Marcus a thing or two, which he was grateful for.
Not only that, you were even better at cooking other things, admittedly better than half of the chefs.
So Carmy was confused why you would be here, out of all places. Why wouldn’t you be in some other, special, amazing place. One that didn’t have mold growing everywhere, and one that didn’t have old appliances.
He watched you like a hawk when he could. You never had tried to one up any of his chefs, you’ve never said anything bad about any of them, you’ve never gotten mad at them.
You were a dream come true for him.

NICO'S SO YOU WANNA READ SOMETHING OTHER THAN MARVEL AND DC
hello everybody, I'm Nico, you might know me from being a fucking hater and a gross nerd and I'm here to tell you that you don't have to be whipped around by the big 2, there's a world of good shit out there, we can go find it together. come, take my hand.
The ones everyone will tell you about
these are the ones you are supposed to read, even if you mainly read big 2 stuff.
go on, read Hellboy (here's a reading order list, it gets dicey but I believe in you). go on, read saga. go on, read blacksad. go on, read something is killing the children. go on, read Locke and key
ok, with these out of the way, let's begin
so you want to read super hero type stuff
1. black hammer by Jeff lemire et al.
in the past, black hammer (the greatest supper hero) and six superheroes of his team save the city but in the process get sucked into a parallel dimension, in the 10 years since they have tried everything to go back to their world without much success, but there's still superheroing to do.
2. minor threats by Patton oswalt et al.
one of the biggest villains in the city murders the robin analogue in this world. which causes the heroes to go hog wild and turn everything into a police state. in the middle of it all, the small time villains who just want to rob a store or turn dogs into cats or whatever are caught in the line of fire of a fight way above their pay grade.
3. America's got powers by Johnathan Ross and Bryan hitch
18 years ago an alien crystal of unknown origin fell from the sky in San Francisco, at that same moment every pregnant woman in the city gave birth to a superpowered child. today, all of the babies are used as gladiators in a reality show that can bring them fame and fortune or death. the only kid to be born that day without superpowers is thrust all the same into the arena to fend for himself.
4. buzzkill by Donny cates and mark reznicek
imagine you're the biggest superhero there is, but to get each of your individual super powers you had to consume a different drug everytime you wanted to use it. imagine that this breaks every single relationship you have and you want to go clean. imagine also that the city still needs you. what is your obligation to your city over yourself?
the first two titles are more akin to big 2 comics with an expansive universe and several smaller titles to accompany the main one.
so you want to read a little freak
1. bone by Jeff Smith
go read bone. do it now. phoney bone gets expelled from his natal city from his latest scheme to get rich. in the process he drags out of the city his cousins smiley bone and fone bone, our hero. in the process of escaping the three get separated and each one gets into his own adventures that unfold a dark tale in the valley they end up on. a dark fantasy comedy for all ages
2. good bye, chunky rice by Craig thompson
a small turtle leaves his home and his friends because he feels he has done all he can in this particular stage of his life. he explores love and loss throughout his trip
3. Krazy Kat by George herriman
this is one of the most influential newspaper strips of the early 20th century. Krazy is a cat in love with ignatz the mouse who fucking hates him. krazy's biggest want in life is to get his love reciprocated, ignatz just wants to throw bricks at krazy's head
so you want to bawl your eyes out
1. primordial by Jeff lemire and Andrea Sorrentino.
one of the scientists in charge of the Laika space launch is convinced she is still up there somewhere and is adamant to get her back. at the same time the last launch with monkey is going into space. on one side we see the scientists working and dealing with the ethical ramifications of their work, on the other we see the critters and their limited sentience of what is happening.
2. the lil depressed boy by Isabel struble and Sina grace
the lil depressed boy (or ldb as everyone calls it) is a sack boy like the one in little big planet, but one who is a fucking nerd and likes indie music and bowling, he navigates through life without direction, finding temporary relief in one thing or another, but ultimately a lost souls just doing whatever he can to stay afloat. you will find this under the author's deadname, but after her transition Isabel seems to have shed the veil that made this autobiographical story happen. good-for-her.gif
3. essex county by jeff lemire
this is a trilogy of books based around the area in which jeff lemire grew up in with only a geographical connection uniting them. a young boy has his whole world turned upside down with no one to guide him through it. a pair of brothers who did everything together grow apart and end up hating each other in adulthood. a rural nurse reckons with how she can only do so much for the people that depend on her. this was also adapted for canadian tv but i really havent seen it yet, so i dont know how that went
so you want to read about important stuff
1. Maus by art spielgman
this probably should have gone in the first part of things everyone tells you to read but I'd be remiss not mentioning it directly. it is the only comic to win a Pulitzer, art spielgman tells us how his father tells him his story during the Holocaust. it is harrowing, raw, and gruesome. but it still retains a glimmer of better things, art's father is funny in his relationship with art which give you little respites to all the shit going on
2. march by John Lewis with Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell
yes, the John Lewis who marched next to Martin Luther king. this is his autobiographical account of the civil rights movement in the 60s. it is insightful but raw. still feeling it all in the present day.
3. Vaincus mais vivants. chile 1973 by Maximilien leroy
I hate french people but they're good at this comic book shit. this Tells the tale of commandante Carmen and commandante Miguel, heads of the MIR (movimiento de izquierda revolucionaria-revolutionary leftist movement) before and during the USA backed coup in Chile in 1973. how they had worked before it went down, and how they hid to try to survive the persecution.
4. footnotes in Gaza by Joe sacco
Joe sacco is a journalist who does comics on the side. in this stand out he tries to tell the story of the Khan Yunis and rafah massacres in 1956 through interviews with palestinians alive at the time, while interweaving the current (to 2003) situation in rafah. another account of the monster that is Israel and the resilience of the Palestinian people.
so you want to laugh
1. the tick by Ben endlund
you have seen the cartoon. the tick is a dumbass who is also the biggest hero in naked city. go read this shit, just pick up whatever volume you find, continuity isn't really a thing here
2. imagine agents by Brian Joines and bachan
this is basically men in black but instead of aliens they have to control and keep the people from knowing about the reality of imaginary friends kids abandon and how they can get out of control. it's so stupid
so you want to read a western
1. east of west by Jonathan hickman and Nick dragotta
much like in reality, the USA is a dystopian land but in this book there's also science fiction. and the only begins that can save that shit hole are the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
2. Shaolin cowboy by Geoff Darrow
like east of west, this mixes science fiction with western. but this is pretty simple. he's a Shaolin monk who is also a cowboy, and he has to get out of situations. one time it was a flying shark, another one it was zombies. and so on and so forth *zizek voice*
3. six gun gorilla by Simon spurrier and Jeff stokely
in a world colonized in the future after earth was ran dry of respurces by greed, one single gunslinger tries to bring order to the land. he happens to be a biologically enhanced gorilla
so you want to get experimental
jimmy corrigan: the smartest kid on earth by chris ware
simply put, this shit is the house of leaves of comics. some dude get the opportunity to meet his dad for the first time at the age of 36. its simple enough but this takes you for a visual ride.
2. asterios polyp by david mazzuchelli
again, this story is simple enough. a professor gets his house torched by thunder and escapes the city to star anew somewhere else. but you get the story told by people who dont exist, jumping between past and present.
3. almost silent by jason
jason's stories are pantomime. his anthropomorphic characters dont emote too much, but you can feel them. this collection of stories focuses on his stories that have almost no dialogue at all.
so you want gays
are you listening? by tillie walden
this isnt a love story. but it is a story of connection and deep understanding, of someone else and yourself. theres also a magical cat in it.
2. laura dean keeps breaking up with me by mariko tamaki and rosemary valero-o'connell
laura dean is the protagonist's on again, off again girlfriend. she is also a cunt. freddy keeps distancing herself from her circle due to laura's games and manipulation. but she has to learn how to keep herself afloat in this vortex.
shit you need to read because its important to the art form
a contract with god by will eisner
this is the originator of the term graphic novel. its a triology of stories which are in the vein of a lot of eisner's comics, simple pictures of life in a jewish neighborhood in new york. but told with such mastery of the craft that they pull you in like nothing else.
2. calvin & hobbes by bill watterson
yeah, yeah. i know. you know calvin and hobbes. you love calvin and hobbes. go read the whole thing from start to finish tho, go do it right now.
3. hicksville by dylan horrocks
this is universailly described as a love letter to comics as a medium. it tells you a biographical account of dylan horrocks life. it also tells you a biographical account of sam zabel, a character of horrock's that appears in much of his ouvre. it also tells you a story of intrigue and mystery surrounding the biggest comic creator in the world, dick burger (yeah, thats his name). it is also my favorite comic.
list of good shit that i couldnt fit into a theme and im also bored of this now so heres just a loooong list
the many deaths of laila starr by ram v and filipe andrade
judas by jeff loveness and jakub rebelka
the loneliness of the long distance cartoonist by adrian tomine

Joshua
Pov: you’re reluctant to go out to a bar with your friends to this new trendy club but meeting a handsome stranger makes this the best night of your life.
Warnings: public sex, penetration, fingering.
Joshua
It was a hot summer night and you wanted nothing more than to stay in in your oversized shirt and watch k-dramas all day. But your friends begged you to come to this new bar that had just opened because it was summer and you were a young, single woman and not a recluse.
“I don’t even have anything to wear,” you protested.
“Here, wear this,” your best friend from uni threw a long sleeve but backless green satin dress at you.
“NO WAY, I am not wearing this,” you proclaimed.
“Just wear it. Here, you can wear my chunky black boots, too,” your cousin offered. You reluctantly went to the bathroom to change and put thick eyeliner and a little bit of shimmer eyeshadow to make your eyes pop. You took a step back and looked at the stranger in the mirror. The dress surprisingly hugged your body in all the right places, accentuating all the right curves that you had to offer. Maybe the night wouldn’t be so bad, afterall. You spritzed some sophisticated perfume your older sister had gotten you when you graduated from college She said you needed a “big girl” perfume now that you were headed out into the world.
The three of you helped each other adjust your outfits and added the finishing touches to blush and hair before piling into a taxi. The three of you looked like you had just stepped out of a 90s cult classic movie, but in a good way. The taxi dropped you off at the bar entrance and you were expecting to get ushered to the back of the line but you were immediately let in by the bouncers who checked your IDs and gave you wristbands. You and your friends looked at each other with surprised but excited glances.
Walking in you were met with the smell of cotton candy vape smoke, expensive cologne and flashing lights from the DJ booth. The place wasn’t fully packed yet, but there were quite a bit of people you couldn’t quite recognize as celebrities or Seoul-cialites in the dark lighting. The lights had a sort of prism cast, some parts of the bar had a red glow casting on the patrons, othe parts had a blue glow. The vibe was like a club for older adults without the drama and underaged kids acting up.
You and your friends decided to walk a lap around the perimeter to find a place to sit down. In one of the more secluded areas you noticed a group of guys laughing loudly and not quite causing a disturbance but it was hard to ignore them. Sitting in the corner, quietly enjoying the show, was a guy not much older than you that caught your attention. He had dark hair slicked back, sunglasses sitting on top of his head which seemed weird since it was late into the night already. He had a crisp button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up his forearms, jeans that fit just right and dress shoes that look expensive. On his arm was a heavy watch that looked like it cost more than your tuition the entire 4 years of college. He looked expensive, but that didn’t stop you from admiring his beauty. His face had a sort of innocence to it, his perfectly shaped nose and perfectly spaced eyebrows. It was hard not to stare. His lips were not too large, not too small, they were a perfect little pout that turned upwards whenever someone did something crazy.
You snapped out of your trance when your friend grabbed your arm to walk over to the bar to get a drink.
“Hello? Are you still on the same planet?” your friend laughed before guiding you away.
You ordered vodka sodas with lime and decided to post up at a high table with bar stools. Your back was facing the area that the mystery guy was sitting in which deflated you a little. You couldn’t steal any more glances pretending you were looking at your friend when you were really looking past her. Your friends started talking about the jobs they had just started at and the drama they were dealing with in the offices.
“I just can’t stand that she micromanages everything and she’s not even a supervisor, it’s a bunch of bullshit,” your friend complained.
You were about to comment in agreement when you adjusted in your seat and started falling backwards. You reached out to try and grab the table but you were caught by someone from behind. Your arm ended up grabbing a guy’s forearm. Time seemed to stop when you looked down to see what you were holding onto. It was a forearm with veins popping out, strong arms. As your eyes traced who the arm belonged to you realized it was the mystery stranger you had been staring at earlier.
“You alright?” he chuckled, flashing a full smile that made your heart want to stop and beat incessantly at the same time.
“Well aren’t you the hero?” your friend commented.
“I’m- fine,” was all you could say weakly.
“Can I buy you a drink? You know, to calm you down?” he asked confidently. You were even more intrigued at his boldness.
“Uh, sure,” you croaked back.
He helped you get off of your chair and lead you to the bar with his hand on the small of your exposed back. The warmth of his hand sent warmth to other parts of your body that made you blush since you had just seen him for the first time not even a full hour ago.
“Two white wines, please,” he ordered at the bar.
“I’m Jay, by the way,” he introduced himself.
“I’m -” before you could introduce yourself the bartender put your drinks on the counter.
“Beautiful? Gorgeous?” Jay flirted with you. Who was this guy? You asked yourself. You blushed and tucked your hair behind your ears. When you walked back to your table you noticed a couple of his friends had started talking with your friends.
“Would you ladies like to join us at our table?” his tall, dark and handsome friend invited you.
“We’d love to!” Your friends replied in unison.
The guys led you to the table and everyone sat in a circle.
“Let’s make a toast. TO NEW FRIENDS!” exclaimed the friend with shiny, luscious hair just past his ears. You cheered and took sips of your drinks.
As everyone introduced themselves you learned his friends’ names were Mingyu, Jeonghan, Soonyoung, Seokmin and Dino. The conversation was flowing, mostly with Jay observing but you didn’t mind that he rested his arm on the back of your chair, allowing you to get a little closer to him. You could smell his cologne and it was almost driving you crazy having him that close. After a while you excused yourself to go to the restroom. You touched up your makeup with the berry flavored lip gloss you brought in your purse and reached for the door of the restroom. You hadn’t opened the door more than a few inches when you noticed Jay leaning against the wall waiting for you.
“Need some help in there?” he asked, his voice taking a deeper tone than he had used when you first talked to him.
“I might,” you replied.
“Can I come in?” he asked somewhat innocently. All you could do was nod and step back to let him in. He looked around to make sure no one else saw and opened the door to the restroom. You could hear The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” pumping through the speakers. He stepped in and you were standing chest to chest with each other.
“I noticed you looking when you first walked in,” he said in a hushed tone, tucking your hair behind your ear.
“You did? Was I that obvious?” you said flushed.
“I’m surprised you didn’t notice me looking at you. I couldn’t take my eyes off of you,” he said huskily.
His hands wandered up your arms onto your shoulders pushing your hair back.
“The things I would do to you, if only you’d let me,” he said, sighing.
“Who said I wouldn’t?” you flirted back. He raised his eyebrows and licked his lips.
“Like what?’ he asked, a devilish look flashed in his eyes.
“I might let you kiss me,” you said softly, looking up at him with doe eyes.
“What if I can’t stop myself?” he asked, melting into your gaze.
“Let’s just start with a kiss and see where it goes from there,” you bit your lip and rested your hands on his waist. You could see his chest rising and falling heavily with anticipation. He lowered his neck so he could reach down and kiss you softly at first. You inhaled his expensive cologne, his lips felt like soft pillows you landed on. Kissing him made jolts of electricity shoot out of your nerve endings and made you feel like you were about to explode. It was unlike anything you had ever felt before. You could feel the goosebumps forming on your skin and wondered if he felt them too. He cradled your neck in the crook of his arm as he started to kiss you more passionately. His hand started tracing your clavicle, daring to go slightly lower before he stopped himself.
“It’s okay,” you said out of breath, not wanting to stop kissing him or stop doing anything else that stemmed from that. He lowered his hand almost hesitant at first, but when he let go of any inhibitions, he was like a wild beast clawing at you and ready to tear your clothes off.
It was as if he didn’t know what to touch first, his hands mindlessly wandering around your body grabbing your ass, your shoulders, your breast. It was like he was just as excited as you were, unable to contain the electricity within. You weren’t kissing each other very long before someone knocked on the door, startling the both of you.
“Be right out,” he called. He looked in the mirror, seeing your smeared berry lip gloss on his face and smirking it, deciding not to wipe it off. He opened the door to see Soonyoung waiting. Hoshi’s innocent eyes looked between the both of you.
“What just-” he raised an accusatory finger up at the both of you.
“We’re gonna be right back,” Jay told him while grabbing your hand and pushing past him. He walked you out onto the summer street past the line of people waiting to get into the bar. You hadn’t been outside for a few seconds and you could already feel the humid air sticking to the backs of your legs. He took you to a darkened alleyway behind the bar where no foot traffic was passing by. You went around to a stack of crates and boxes and he held you against the wall, kissing every inch of you. You instinctively lifted your dress, begging him to take you.
He looked around briefly to make sure you couldn’t be seen from the street before unzipping his pants. He slid a couple of fingers inside of you, surprised at how moist you already were without any stimulation.
“You want me that bad already, huh?” he smiled under his breath.
“You have no idea,” you told him, trying to resist the urge to rip the buttons off of his shirt. Your hands wander up and down his strong, muscular arms hiding under his shirt. You held onto his shoulders as he used some of your juices to lubricate his dick before he slid it into you. You hadn’t been with anyone in so long you could feel him stretching you the deeper he went in. You started to let out a moan before he used his left hand to cup your mouth, muffling any noise. He held you by your ass with his other hand, making sure you wouldn’t fall over. He was fighting moaning himself, grunting and breathing into your shoulder.
“Fuck you feel so tight,” he finally said once he got a rhythm going.
“You feel amazing,” you told him. You squeezed your insides and felt his dick twitch in side of you, this time you placed your hand over his mouth just as he was about to let out a moan. You started to suck a little on his hand cupped over your mouth as you squeezed him and you could swear you saw his eyes roll to the back of his head.
He removed the hand over your mouth and reached down and started rubbing your swollen clit. You bit your lip so hard you thought you were going to draw blood. You squeezed him so tight you could feel his shoulders tensing and shaking like he was about to release.
“Fuck, baby, keep doing that, I’m going to cum,” he announced. He kept rubbing circles around your sensitivity, you kept squeezing him and in a short few seconds the both of you reached your climax. Just as he pulled out you released your juice all over the ground in front of you, making him release that much harder as streams of his white goo sprung on top of yours. He tucked himself into his pants before helping you step over the mess the two of you made.
“Well, that was hot,” he finally said after you had walked onto the street, the berry lip gloss casting a shine around his mouth.
“I know, and I didn’t even want to come out tonight,” you said nonchalantly.
“Well, I’m glad you did - uh,” he stopped in his tracks and looked at you while blushing.
“I never got your name.”
“It’s y/n,” you said sweetly. He smiled and kissed you like he never wanted to let you go.
“‘I’m glad I met you, y/n.”

hi bae - I’m so curious how do u think riize would act in a mehndi!! I just know taro would be cutting it up on the dancefloor 🤩🤩
riize at a mehndi!
pairing : ot7 x reader! genre : fluff <3 cw/tw : food mention wc : i wanna say 350?
you're so right about shotaro i definitely see him glued to the dance floor - bro is in his element and my god it completely SHOWS. there's probably a whole gaggle of people crowding around him to try to grab his attention but he's literally only here to dance man ,,
then, i see seunghan and anton as the ones who do errands for the bride and all her friends + basically whoever's getting mehndi - i'm talking holding their phone up for them, getting smol pieces of cut fruit (most wholesome thing EVER), water, pushing their away from their face when it gets a little too close to the eyes oof <3
oh and, sungchan and eunseok would fully accept their role of the "uncle who roams around telling people to eat." you know the pushy ones who're like "nah man you GOTTA eat . you can't leave without eating dude . we didn't make the rules y'know??" also they'd be like really popular with the dad-adjacent crowd (it's bc of the atrocious amount of dad jokes BOTH of them crack on a daily basis </3)
the one who'd be put in-charge of the elderly aunties would for sure be sohee because they all just adore him so much (everyone else does too but the cute grandmas just show it well with all their cheek pinching and head pats). very likely that you'd see him gossiping about someone's third cousin's best friend's daughter's boyfriend with them <3
lastly, wonbin would be the guy who looks all mysterious in a corner till someone tells him to babysit the little kids after which you'd see him sat down surrounded by littol kids who deck him out in cutesy hair clips and chunky jewelry (if this isn't something that seems like it'd happen at a normal mehndi ... then guys my bsf's cousins might be weird) probably ends up looking prettier than the bride and groom combined ngl
notes : i researched for this btw (asked my bsf to take notes for me <3) + [m.list] song rec : mehndi laga ke rakhna from dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge (The Og >>>>)

Script Change
PAIRING - Jisung x F!Reader
SYNOPSIS - After an off the cuff kiss leaves you anxious and confused, you decide to confront your feelings and your best friend.
WORDCOUNT - 3.6k
WARNINGS - Wholesome fluff, Best Friend!Jisung, Jisung interacting with a child, subtle teasing, your basic crush anxieties, reader's on babysitting duty (for those who aren't into kids, I gotchu)
A/N - So this is part two of a fic that should've been posted four years ago on Han's birthday, but hey! There's no time like the present, right? Happy Han day!!🎉
Part One (I recommend reading, as some of this won't make much sense otherwise)
"Higher! Higher!" Your little cousin squeals, kicking her little legs back and forth on the swing.
You and Jisung had decided on taking her to the park after stopping for a bite to eat, settling on dinosaur nuggets at her favorite restaurant. You'd sat there mute the entire time, watching your best friend and your cousin interact amongst each other. No thanks to your brain having been thrown into a whirlwind not an hour prior.
Even now, you sit on a swing a few feet away, watching Jisung push the small child higher. You know you should be focused on spending time with the two people in front of you, but your mind has been focused on Jisung's lips.
Jisung had kissed you. And not just some little smooch on the cheek like he normally would. Always the jokester, but no. He had full-on kissed you. Your sneakers dig into the mulch under your feet, swinging slightly as your mind buzzes. His actions have left you scratching your head.
"Higher!!!"
"If you go any higher, you're gonna fly to the moon!" Jisung exclaims, ignoring his own warning as he bends to the little girl's demands. Her head sweeps back with a giggle, the wind playing with tangled pigtails as she kicks her feet forward.
"Maybe I wanna go there! Or even Mars," She sticks her tongue out in thought, "Or Saturn!"
Jisung gasps dramatically, hopping on the swing beside hers.
"Are you going on a secret space mission? Are there, perhaps, some evil aliens up there who need a firm butt-kicking!?" He asks, following up with an animated wag of his fist. More giggles resound through the empty park and Jisung beams with pride at the giddy child. He always hopes for a giggle, doesn't he?
"Nooo! I don' know," She giggles again, a toothy grin taking over chunky cheeks. "My teacher says Saturn has lots of moons!"
"Really? Just how many moons does Saturn have, Sweet Pea?"
You chuckle to yourself, listening in on the banter as she ponders her answer. Brown eyes find yours for a moment and you swear your heart is imploding in your chest at the soft smile he blesses you with.
"Uhhhh, Saturn has tons and tons of moons." A tiny finger gestures to the clear sky above, faint masses of hydrogen and helium dancing in a gravitational choreography that twinkles through the atmosphere. "Like as many stars as there are up there!"
Jisung scoffs, shaking his head in disbelief.
"No way, Little Astronomer!"
"Yes way!! It's the truth, Sung Sung! You can search it on the computer and everything!" She's sticking her nose up in a know-it-all fashion, losing momentum from all the animated movement she's been pulling on her swing. She pumps her legs again, trying to get back in a fluid back and forth motion.
Jisung chuckles, sneaking behind the six-year-old to swiftly lift her off the swing. She squeals at his prodding fingers, grabbing at the collar of his T-shirt when he settles her on his hip. You can't help the smile on your lips, watching the two of them poke and prod at each other until your cousin is shying away with timid little giggles. But when Jisung makes his way towards you, her face quickly falls.
"We aren't leaving yet, are we?" She asks, her bottom lip jutting out. Jisung mirrors her, booping the tip of her nose with a finger.
"Hey, turn that frown upside down! We've still got a movie to watch at home." He reminds her. Another gentle poke to her cheek. And now she's poking his cheeks with that same gentle nature and Jisung is giving her the biggest grin he possibly could and you're pretty sure you're going into cardiac arrest.
"What do ya say, Sweet Pea?"
Little hands find the chain around his neck as he talks, fiddling with the links like she always does.
"Okay... can we watch The Princess and the Frog?"
"We can watch whatever you want." He replies, eye sparkling as he holds her gaze. You watch her face light up, looking between you and Jisung with unbridled excitement. She nods and giggles, and you're just about to pull yourself up from the swing when a hand extends to you.
"Your Highness..." He bows as far forward as is possible with a clingy six-year-old on his hip, a small quirk on his lips. Your gaze lingers far too long there and you try to pull off an eye roll and exasperated mannerisms, taking his hand in yours.
"It's Your Cowness, thank you very much!" You mutter as he pulls you to your feet.
"Bovine-ness, if we're being technical."
"Really?"
"Really."
You're lucky it's dark out, because the blood is probably rushing to your cheeks.
"Look, Sung Sung!" A tiny hand pulls at Jisung's shirt, quickly getting his attention. "The swan is in the sky!"
"Ah, you're right, Peanut!" His focus wanes, looking to where she's pointing. "What's the swan's name again? I forget."
"Cygnus!" She shouts. With a missing front tooth, it comes out a little more like Cygmus, but you give her an E for effort.
Indeed, Cygnus soars high above your suburban town, most stars too faint to see with the nearby lights of the city. But you can easily make out most of the familiar constellations up there through all the light pollution.
"Ah, you really are an astronomer!" He says, fingers coming up to scratch the underside of her chin. You're thankful for those magical giggles right now, helping to shake off your nerves from a moment ago.
It's just Jisung being Jisung, you remind yourself as the three of you begin the walk back home. The weight of a tiny head rests on Jisung's shoulders, grumbles coming out here and there as she attempts to get comfortable in his arms. He chuckles at her comical little noises, shifting her so she's cradled in his arms.
"That better?" He asks, grinning as she tilts her head back into the crook of his elbow. The perfect stargazing position. She nods, continuing her search with a gummy grin. Jisung does his best not to sway her as he walks, keeping his arms steady as she keeps those brown eyes skyward. Hercules slaying the magnificent beast, Draco. Aquila flying closely to the swan she'd first identified. Ophiuchus; the snake man, as she labels him. She points out what she knows
But before you know it, those brown eyes have closed and soft breaths have replaced that mousey voice.
And then it was you and him.
Jisung adjusts the child in his hold, being careful not to wake her. That smile still sits itself on his pretty face when he glances over to you and you press your lips together, offering him a lopsided grin before you look away.
How many times had he smiled like that tonight?
And at you, no less. It felt like Jisung had toned down on his usual joking since you had left the house a few hours prior. His interactions hadn't changed with your little cousin though - always the playful, accommodating King in her eyes. You, however?
Since you'd left the house, you took note of the glances he had spared you. Many. Often. Even as he did his best to look casual about it, he had failed. When you would catch his gaze mid-admiration, he would shoot you a smile so soft and genuine, you were certain you could hear the choir of angels above singing. And then there's the paying for dinner. He was adamant about it, even as you insisted that you would foot the bill this time. It wasn't out of character for him. Jisung was always bringing over snacks or picking up takeout before he'd see you, and you'd often try to pay him back your half, at the very least. Didn't work most times, but tonight wasn't the usual.
Was he just being the usual gentleman he always is, or was it that ki-
"You've been pretty quiet."
Jisung's voice is soft, but he still manages to make you jump out of your skin. You turn your head toward him, eyes wide.
"Me?"
"Unless there's a ghost here with us... yes, you." His little quip manifests a teasing grin and you inwardly groan. That smile... Stop that!
"Just tired," You reply, shaking your head. "Babysitting royalty takes a lot out of me."
Jisung chuckles, adjusting the sleeping princess in his embrace with all the care in the world.
"That smile is worth it, though." He admits.
Even in sleep, the little tyke has a soft curl to her lips, her head resting against his shoulder. Your shoe scuffs lightly against the sidewalk, too enamored by the smile that's taken over your best friend's face.
Your smile is worth it!
"You must be pretty comfortable." You murmur, and his brown eyes dart up to yours. The child's head falls slightly from his movements and he curses under his breath, readjusting himself so her head finds purchase in the junction of his neck. He's so careful with her, bringing a hand up to cradle her head as you both walk the dimly-lit street. You can't stop your heart from fluttering at the scene. The grin on his face says it all; she has him wrapped around her little finger.
"My arm would beg to differ." He jokes, but he makes no more adjustments.
"I can take her."
"No, no." He promptly rejects the offer, gesturing down the street. "We're almost there. I wouldn't wanna wake her on accident."
You chuckle at his response.
Yep... wrapped tight.
You fall into another silence as you round the corner of your street. It's comfortable, really - Jisung keeping himself occupied with the comfort of the sleeping child, and you sneaking glances every so often. The wind picks up, wisping strands of hair into your line of sight as you walk. You glance over again, eyes going wide at the deep browns that are already staring back. It instantaneous the way your head snaps forward, eyes darting to anywhere else as you clear your throat. You feel your heart stall in it's usual function. Jisung's laugh perks your ears, watching you try so hard to look nonchalant.
"What...?" He asks, his head slowly craning towards you. His voice is soft as ever when he speaks, even your heartbeat quiets in your ears, listening graciously to the way he articulates his words. Dark eyes flicker between your face and your body language. Studying your mannerisms. Those lips quirk into a teasing grin, and-
Oh. When did your gaze fall on his again?! How long have you been staring? Why are you still staring? You bring a hand up to scratch the back of your head.
"Nothing!" You say, perhaps a little too loudly. You can feel yourself flush slightly, tucking your hands into the fabric of your jacket pocket. He snickers at your response, glancing down at the little girl still sound asleep in his arms. Then, he returns his attention to you.
You're speed-walking now, more than a few steps ahead of him as you get closer to your house. His expression is one of amused curiosity. Your cousin stirs in her sleep, shifting until the crown of her skull rests just under his chin. His arms tighten around her, and she nuzzles into his shirt.
"Sure looks like nothing, hm." He mumbles to the child, sighing as he picks up his pace.
Your cheeks burn as you make it up to the front door, slotting the key in the lock with all the focus in the world. The door swings open and Jisung follows you inside, slipping his shoes off at the door before doing the same for the child on his hip. Before you can even speak, he's making a beeline for the hall with your little cousin still cradled in his arms. You follow behind him as he shoulders the door to your bedroom open, pulling the sheets back on the bed. There's a tiny whine that escapes her throat, and Jisung furrows a brow.
"Come on, Peanut." He whispers, fingers gently grasping at the tiny hand clinging to his shirt. You can't keep your eyes off Jisung as he coddles the grumpy little tyke. It only causes her to bury herself further into his chest, eyes shut tight and face scrunched up in displeasure. You lean against the door frame with raised brows, watching as he figures out how to put her to bed with little issue.
It takes a moment of thought - you see him calculating a plan behind those deep browns as he stands there with her in his arms - before he tilts his head down. You can't make out the soft murmur of words that are shared, but your heart flutters as the harsh lines that wrinkle her face soften. Tiny fingers release their grip on the fabric, and Jisung turns back toward the bed, cradling her head until it hits the pillows below. She slowly but surely relaxes into the comfort of your bed, long lashes fluttering as the duvet is brought up to her chin.
When Jisung turns back toward you, he pauses at the look of admiration you're giving him. It's his turn to clear his throat, glancing back at your cousin and running a hand through his hair. You gesture toward the door when he looks back at you, leaving the lamp on the nightstand on as you step out. He follows you, leaving the door ajar in case the lurking monsters disturb sweet dreams.
"You still wanna watch that movie?" He asks, entering the kitchen. "Or- a movie?"
"Movie... yeah, right!" You nod. "Uhh, you wanna pick it and I can get some snacks? Popcorn?"
"Sure, yep."
You can practically feel your heart jumping in your throat, but you clap your hands and nod again as Jisung makes his way toward the living room. Once he's out of sight, you sag against the kitchen counter, releasing the breath you didn't know you were holding.
It's getting harder and harder to avoid the elephant in the room. The massive best-friend-kissed-me-shaped elephant that's just trampling through the house, mocking you. You want to ask him about it, have wanted to all day now. The words are locked and loaded on the tip of your tongue.
But right now?
You take another deep breath, letting off the white-knuckle grip on the edge of the counter.
"Snacks... we're looking for snacks." You mutter to yourself, pushing off the countertop and turning toward the cupboards in search of popcorn and anything else to munch on.
—
You don't want to overanalyze Jisung's choice in movie, but the rom-com currently playing was not what you'd expected. That elephant in the room? Sitting it's big ol' elephant ass on top of you as you watch the main character confess to their crush. You're actively suffocating into the couch cushions.
You blink, shifting your head just enough to side-eye your best friend. Jisung's sitting cross-legged in his usual spot, popping bits of popcorn into his mouth. He seems so unfazed by the scene. In fact, he's seemingly leaning towards the screen as if it's the best thing he's ever watched. Got a smile plastered on his face to boot. It's enough to make your heart beat out of your chest.
Now you're wishing you would've said something to him earlier about the kiss, if only for the sake of your sanity. You've related to almost every single instance of pining in this fucking movie, sitting here with your internal monologue while stuffing your mouth full of microwave popcorn. You're fairly certain that you've almost cracked a molar from the few kernels that didn't fully pop, too busy eating your stress away to pick them out of the fistfuls of crumbling corn.
It takes everything in you to sit there and wipe your mind clean of earlier events as you stuff another handful into your mouth, watching the big kiss scene unfold on the screen. The movie's been going for an hour now and based off of everything happening, you can only pray it'll end soon.
Don't think about it. Don't think about it. Don't-
He's watching you. You can practically feel those eyes boring a hole into the side of your skull, searching through your mind's file folders until they can uncover the answer they seek. You spare a glance his way, melting into warm cacao and an even warmer smile. Neither of you break eye contact as the credits roll, your heart actively attempting to burst from your chest cavity.
You have to say something.
"You know, this movie kinda sucked."
You nearly choke on the leftover popcorn in your mouth, bringing a hand up to butter-tainted lips as you laugh through the pain.
"You- you chose the movie, Ji."
"I did, didn't I..." The corner of his eyes crinkle as he scrunches his nose in amusement, shrugging his shoulders. It's silent now, the credits skipped and the main menu of the chosen streaming service idling on the screen.
"So, uh, there's something I'd like to talk to you about…" You find the words falling out faster than you expected, and you internally curse. Your heart skips beats as Jisung sits back against the cushions, his face illuminated by the light of the TV screen. He nods, taking an inward breath.
"The kiss."
"You knew?"
He huffs a breath of laughter, turning his head.
"Shall I remind you of the way you've been acting around me all night?"
Your drink is sweating probably about as much as you are, fingers slipping lightly on the glass as you bring it to your lips. You don't know how to respond to that. There's obviously no way around it; you've been acting like a teenage girl fawning over their crush all day. Ever since that kiss...
You attempt an air of casualty, setting your drink back on the coffee table, but it's difficult when he's got his eyes trained on you so intently. You shift your weight on the cushion, although the pins and needles prickling up your right leg is a welcome distraction. You swallow hard, fingers clenching around the bowl in your lap. Oh god. Think! Think!
"I, uh..." A nervous chuckle escapes your lungs, your face heating the longer you scramble for an answer. "That's beside the point-"
"I think it's right on point." Jisung cocks a brow ever so slightly, and it's enough to make your face burn. That sparkle in his irises tells you everything. He's teasing you.
"You know what I'm gonna ask, Jisung." You don't shift your gaze from his, reading the expression that flickers over his face.
"It wasn't in the script, if I'm honest." He admits, brows knitting together as he replays the moment in his head. "Neither was the impromptu pillow fight, or falling off the couch... which is a safety hazard, by the way! Your parents really need a lower one ya know, I almost-"
"Jisung."
"Right, sorry." He's getting flustered now, reaching for the nape of his neck with twitching fingers. Now you're wondering if he's stalling for the sake of your feelings. That's it, isn't it? He just doesn't feel that way about you? It was the heat of the moment? You can feel the change in trajectory of your relationship with him the longer you stare. The silence is excruciating. You can't stand it anymore. You let out a breath, about to tell him to just forget it when he interrupts you.
"I just- I... wanted to-"
He takes a moment to collect his thoughts, rubbing at the bridge of his nose with a soft groan.
"The kiss... that wasn't planned, but I have wanted to."
"To?" You sound dense as fuck, but you aren't getting your hopes up until you hear a full coherent sentence.
"I want us to be..." Another pause, his words trailing off as his eyes flicker to your lips. You mirror him, catching the bob of his throat as he swallows. "I want this. You. I know this is all so unexpected, but I've wanted to take you out on a proper date for forever and you looked absolutely gorgeous today. I definitely wasn't expecting you to overpower me like you did. That was hot. Like really hot, and then when I pulled you closer your eyes just- mmph!"
Jisung's words get washed away, your lips like some kind of fucked up siren's song that lures him into calm waters. It's heaven to feel him relax into your kiss, to feel him lean in after a moment and pull you closer to him. His hand finds your jaw, brows creasing as he focuses on the warmth of your mouth and the feeling of your fingers tangled in his hair.
You can't help the giddy laugh that escapes your throat, pulling away even as Jisung follows your lips. His confession has your whole body vibrating down to the bone.
"Have I mentioned you're a very good kisser?" Jisung asks, his eyes flitting down to your lips like he wants to experience it all over again. Your eyes catch the illumination from the TV, twinkling as you bite your lip.
"Could say the same about you, Your Highness." You reply with a grin. He chuckles at that, reeling back into the couch.
"You know the Little Peanut is gonna want a script change." He mutters, and you climb into his lap with an accusatory stare.
"You seem to be fine with changing the script, Mister 'Magical cows are cursed'."
"Hey, I had to come up with something on the fly, alright!" His hand finds your wrist, pulling you down just like he'd done hours ago; face to face, the tip of his nose brushing against yours teasingly. His body heat bleeds into yours as he wraps the other arm around your shoulders. "You didn't object. Seemed like you enjoyed the idea of being my Queen."
"A little hard to object to something I've been thinking about for a long time." There's no point in hiding it anymore, you just kissed your best friend dumb in the midst of his confession. Jisung tilts his head and hums, his hand following the curve of your back.
"I guess I should ask if you'd want to go out then? This weekend?"
You can't help the smile that takes over your face. He wants this just as much as you do.
"Took you long enough."
"It took long enough for that kiss, too." Jisung chuckles as he gazes at you with those beautiful browns, leaning back in with a grin.
"Need to catch up now, don't we?"
Psst!! If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read my work 💕 I appreciate you!

diagonal knit blanket for my sis! original pattern wasn’t working out (too busy, didn’t play well with the colors) so had to start over. but i like this better anyway, it stripes prettier and is very easy to zone out with while watching youtube or tv. blankets are soothing to make, because they’re big enough to challenge me, but also useful, and depending on the pattern, can also hold my interest.
This is baby blanket #3. It’s being made with acrylic mini skeins that were a christmas gift. pattern is Cambrie by wool and stitch. I’ve got a light-dark-light-dark thing going, which is coming out nicely. don’t know for sure if i’ll use all the skeins since i’m nowhere near the length needed, but if nothing else i’ll go until i’m satisfied.
baby blankets 1&2! (ignore the terrible lighting) they were supposed to be for a coworker that was having twins, but then she left before i was done, and i couldn’t reach her at the number she gave me, then the other one i had didn’t work, and i never got a response, so they ended up going to a cousin of mine that recently had a baby. my aunt is gonna pass them along for me, so i’m just happy they’ll get used. these were done last year, i think i finished that brown and gray one in…November? or October. (side note, i am NEVER doing an 8-row pattern for a blanket again jfc it took FOREVER). brown and gray is garter rib, blue and white is eeny meenie minie mo, the aforementioned 8-row, which drove me nuts because i still think my stitch count was off somewhere, or there was an issue with the pattern. X_X both were done in cotton. still pleased with how they came out since they were my first ever baby blankets. :D
this wacky thing is also diagonal knit, but with chunky chenille yarn (also a christmas gift). why i decided to make it diagonal knit as well, i don’t know. it’s a side project that gets worked on whenever i’m in the mood to fiddle with it. will probably give it to my aunt as she does not have a blanket from me yet.
my stepdad’s blanket! also done in acrylic, it took 5 cakes of caron super bulky. pattern is called bamboo, even though you can’t really see it in the pic. this was finished literally 2 months ago, and i almost ran out of yarn, but had enough to finish the border. i won yarn chicken, juuuust barely.
my mom’s blanket! i finished that one last year too. I don’t remember if I showed this one or not. I did not make a finishing border because i wasn’t paying attention, so i had just enough yarn to bind off. i used the caron anniversary cake for it. frigging huge thing of yarn. remember kids, always keep track of your rows! pattern is broken rib. and yes, when i finished both blankets, i literally left them on their chairs for my mom/stepdad to find in the morning.now, i haven’t forgotten about your blanket. in fact i recently got the needles and a couple skeins of yarn for it. did a test run of the pattern, and now i mostly just need to figure out how many stitches to cast on for proper width, and then how many more skeins i will need altogether. it took me forever to actually DECIDE what to use, because my initial yarn pick never seemed to have the right colors in stock, and my other choices just didn’t seem right. :/ but i’ll need to get 2 more skeins in the right colors, and go from there. i’ll be using lion brand hometown, which is also considered super bulky/chunky. once i have everything, i’ll start fiddling with it and share progress.

Can I request a Ray or Egon one-shot with a GN or male rockstar reader? It could be present time or college days, I think them having a bit of gay panic would be fun, have a good day!!
Warrior in Woolworths
Pairing: Ray Stantz/Rockstar!Male!Reader
Warnings: Minor violence/blood
Shoutout to the Ray fans out there I salute you all
Better formatting on Ao3!! (italics and such)
Ray pulled his trusty leather jacket closer to himself, hands in his pockets when a chill ran through the dark street. If he was going to this thing, he was gonna look the part.
He was given two tickets to a concert held in a venue he just couldn’t find. They were a gift- given to him by the short redheaded girl in his advanced algebra class for bringing all her work when she was stuck with tonsillitis.
“Gee, thanks!” Ray took the two slips of paper from her in the empty hallway. He pursed his lips, willing to take a chance. “Would you like to come with me?”
Her smile weakened. “I’m sorry. My boyfriend wouldn’t want me to.”
That crossed one person off the list, at least. In the moment, he wasn’t really trying to insinuate any sort of date. Back in high school, most of his friends were girls, and they loved live music. Their moms would get tons of pictures before they left and thank him for being such a good friend. College was surely complicating things.
He would’ve asked his sister, or one of his cousins, but they had their own things going on. Besides, the name of this band seemed a bit too extreme for his Aerosmith family. Where was this place, anyway? He’d circled the block at least twice, and the little part of New York felt more like a place where good kids whose parents paid for tuition shouldn’t be strolling around.
He had his friends- they were guys. Apparently guys were the ones to invite to concerts. But Peter wanted to have an early night. Which corner store did he have to solicit to get directions around here? Egon was a laughable option. Ray finally stopped his aimless wandering when a few kids in denim ran down the street, skipping down some steps and into the basement of a dimly lit dive.
Ray followed, the excitement and body heat of the minuscule hall spilling out when he opened the door, squeezing through and trying to hand a ticket to someone he assumed was supposed to handle them, though he was slumped back on a stool, smoke surrounded him. Ray just slipped the paper into a cardboard box filled with others, suddenly anxious at how packed it was. Even more smoke hazed up the air, floating up to a skylight and dancing above the heads of those who chose to hang off a balcony that wrapped around the room. He found himself imagining what this place used to be, velvety red remnants of what was once a hidden and cozy Italian place or even a comedy club covered up by large stage lights, posters, and spray paint.
Your little group made it out amidst screaming. Lots of screaming, so loud that the uproar alone shook his shabby barstool from the ground up. It was dark, the only things visible above countless people were the silhouettes of instruments and their attached handlers.
No introduction, no opener, just pure noise. Even bigger than the screaming, bass and bass drum fighting for capital over the space. Guitars cut through everything like a laser, sharp and clear. Everyone was going absolutely insane, and Ray just needed a second- just a second to pick apart sound and voices and words.
The first song was over as soon as it started, a commotion of applause around him. The lights finally came up, ever so slightly, and he was starting to understand the hype.
There you were, guitar around your shoulders and gripping a microphone like your life depended on it. You looked like you’d gone mad, in chunky boots and reflective leather.
“I’m pissed,” your voice rang out into the mic, and you were greeted with cheers across the board. When those died down, you started again. “People are trying to change what we do. They’re trying to make it something it’s not.”
You really knew how to get a crowd going. And maybe the butterflies in his stomach coming out of their cocoons- you sounded nothing like he expected. “Rock isn’t digestible. It isn’t a commodity. It’s dirty, it’s improper, it’s starved.”
The next song started after that. Harder, more aggressive, but more vocals than anything. You sang even better than you sounded. Ray could feel his bones rattling, hair sticking up on every part of his body as your fingers glided across your guitar. You played even better than you sang.
He stopped keeping track, at some point just feeling like pure energy. He was in a vacuum while the drummer hit the snare, a raging and vibrating vacuum. But it was far from unpleasant. This was a room full of people who had been wronged, downtrodden, ignored, and this was their release, musical or otherwise. Someone brought out a saxophone, something he could appreciate as a fellow woodwind. It helped that the frontman- frontperson? Was pretty damn good at what they did.
There was a slower song, sardonic and dark, where you were practically having relations with the microphone stand. Everything about you was teeming with a gnarly power, and Ray couldn’t even make out your features. Only the shine of white light bouncing off your clothes and accessories. You kept playing guitar like it’d kill you otherwise, and it all made him incredibly flustered. He clutched his hand over his heart. He wanted you bad, and he couldn’t even tell if you were a girl or not.
Ray wished it would never end, feeling the adolescent indignance and passion flow through him like it was intravenous. But, all good things had an expiration, and your band was backstage not long after midnight. He felt he’d be imposing if he mingled among the revolutionaries, but he needed to walk a bit, before he got too excited and tried to hit something.
When Ray found his car the next street over, he could barely get off the sidewalk when a police officer blew into his whistle.
“How long have you been parked here?” The man had his hands on his hips.
Ray blinked. “About an hour or three. Is that a problem?” The officer pointed up to a sign, which read that parking had been restricted here for most of the night.
He pulled out a pad of paper, muttering about “college kids” and “no one listens”, when Ray’s pulse quickened, clammy hands rubbing the nape of his neck. He’s never gotten a ticket before- whether that was because he was a good driver or conveniently avoided the cops was beside it all. There’s no way he had the money to pay for it, and no way he’d wanna bother his parents for it. How much were tickets, anyway?
“What’re you doing?” An unfamiliar voice sounded from down the sidewalk, somewhat hidden in darkness.
The officer squinted and went back to scribbling out the fine. “Mind your own business and go home,” he shouted back.
“You can’t give him a ticket, I know that guy!”
He looked between Ray and the stranger, pen in hand. “You know this guy?”
“Duh.” There was a second of silence. “That’s Steve.”
The policeman stared at Ray like he was a felon, and Ray stared back just as dumbly. He’d go along with anything, if it kept his record clean. He stuffed his things back in his blue shirt pocket, stalking off slowly and continuing to talk of “damned punks” and “too old for night patrol.”
Ray stood under the orange street lamps, dumbfounded with his back against the passenger door. His wallet’s savior emerged from the shadows, and his breath hitched when he got a better look. You were the one on stage! With the guitar and the voice and a lot of dark stuff under your eyes. Crazy hair, at least to his understanding. You don’t see more than 5-6 different styles at an Ivy. Chains and rips on taut black leather- you definitely don’t see that at an Ivy. You had your jacket tied around square hips, exposing arms and shoulders with discreet tattoos. Self-done, perhaps? Regardless, that was NYU behavior, not Columbia. And you weren’t a girl. Should he still want you?
“I don’t think your name is really Steve.”
His mouth opened and closed while he tried to remember English. “No. No, it’s Raymond.” He cringed inside. Why use the objectively lamer version of his name? He’s embarrassing himself in front of the funky rockstar. “Ray,” he corrected.
And the funky rockstar smiled at him. “You gotta fight back, Ray. Don’t let them take your $2.”
“You lied to a policeman over $2?” Ray questioned some of the virtues he’d been raised on.
You shrugged. “Money is money. You shouldn’t get hassled for parking on the street.” Huh. He’d never thought of it that way. “Did you enjoy it?”
“Enjoy getting a ticket?”
“No, dude, the show.”
Oh yeah- he was at a concert for a super awesome band and their frontman, as he just found out, just covered for him. “Yeah, it was great.” It was more than great, dummy. It was electric, exhilarating, galvanizing, bewildering. “It was really, really great.”
Ray felt a tinge self conscious as you watched him, unblinking, fearing he had offended you somehow. “You don’t go to these things often.”
He nodded, guard dropping a bit. “What gave it away?”
You pointed out the clunky glasses tucked into the pocket of his shirt. “My mom said I should bring them wherever I go,” Ray laughed bashfully, pulling them out and sliding them into his dark jeans.
He felt proud at making you snicker. “It’s cool. Half my bandmates wear contacts.”
“Where are they, anyway?” Ray realized you were out and about without them. He was probably holding you up from something.
“They’re around here, somewhere. We’ll run into each other eventually.” Your attention shifted to his Camaro, running a hand over the paintjob. “Your car’s awesome, man.”
He already knew that, but the confirmation was nice. “Really? It still needs work.”
“Can’t even tell,” you peered into the passenger side window, “I’ve only seen these when they’ve been stolen.”
Ray didn’t wanna just leave you here, if that was true- even though you seemed more than capable of fighting off a few muggers. Perhaps he just wanted more time with the cool musician. “Wanna take a drive?” he ran a thumb over the back of his own knuckles. “See if we can find your friends?”
Ray went to a concert, alone, got a parking violation, and there’s a really peculiar guitarist sitting in his passenger seat, Doc Martens on his dashboard. And he couldn’t even bring himself to care about your shoes scuffing the interior fabric.
“Where’re you looking to go?” He took note of how empty the city street seemed, the only light coming from lamp posts and 24-hour shops and restaurants, occasionally poking out of home curtains.
“Wherever you’re willing to take me.” Ray swallowed, bringing the car to life as you sat back, hands behind your head. He hadn’t been with many girls romantically, but they’d never been so comfortable so soon- not even his other male friends, let alone a stranger. A very alluring stranger.
You turned your head to face him casually. “No one gave you shit, right?”
He drove slower than you should on a residential road. “I don’t think so. I was at the bar the whole night.”
“Good.” Your belts and chains made clinking sounds as you crossed one ankle over the other. “The bar’s no fun. Find the guy messing with the speakers and tell him you know the color of my underwear, that’ll get you up close.”
“I’m not sure my guess will be correct.”
“It’s always green on show nights, I can show you-” Ray struggled to keep his eyes on the turn he was making when you shimmied up, thumbs in the hem of your pants.
“I believe you,” he successfully got onto another street without veering onto the sidewalk. “When’s your next show?”
Ray had a small grin as you slumped back down. “Not for a crazy long time. Not here, at least.” That news sucked. He should hassle you for a phone number, if that wasn’t too bold. So you could be pen-pals, obviously. “We’re friends, right?”
He kept driving, not entirely sure of where he was going and scared he’d instinctively take the route back to his dorm, but at ease at the feeling of rolling rubber on asphalt. “In all of 10 minutes.”
Your laughter filled his car. “If- when we find them. We usually bounce around a few more shows, drink some, crash somewhere for the night. Wanna come with?”
Ray would’ve leapt at the opportunity to have the night with his new friend, but his old friend needed him. Peter went to bed early to be rested to see his dad the next afternoon. He wanted Ray there as a buffer, in case his day at home was as grating as he expected it to be. “I’m sorry, I promised my friend I’d go out with him in the morning.” he frowned, seeing that it was already past his bedtime.
He’d like to think you were a bit disappointed. “No problem,” you pulled out two little white things, “the least I could do is treat you to a smoke.”
The car slowed at a fairly useless stoplight in the desolate intersection. You lit his own before he lifted it to his lips, but the one in between your fingers refused to ignite next to the sparking lighter. “Outta fuel,” you uttered.
Before Ray could finish gazing down at the center console for his own, your calloused palms held onto either side of his jaw, pressing your unlit cigarette to his ablaze one. It was so close to a kiss that he found himself wondering where to put his hands, one gripping the steering wheel and the other the firm shoulder of the seat next to him. Which was stupid, because kisses were reserved for his mother’s cheek. And girlfriends who called him Raymond and kissed him at the door but never ended up calling again. And girl friends who called him Stantz and only kissed him at the door to get their moms off their backs.
You definitely weren’t his mom, or a girlfriend, or even a girl friend, and Ray felt himself wishing, deep down and with sweaty palms, that there weren’t two rolled partitions between you both. Something about your presence made him want to let go of the engineering department, cutting the lights during the day to save energy, always having his glasses in case of an emergency. The casualness in which your fingers framed his face while the embers burned from one end to the other made him wanna be something dirty, improper, and starved.
Someone appeared behind them, probably waiting a while, and mashed their horn impatiently. Ray remembered that he was behind the wheel, green light reflecting into the car when he hastily pulsed the gas. His father would be incredibly disappointed with his son- nearly sullying his record (for $2), letting a stranger dig their heels into his leatherwork, smoking. Pretty much half his extended family smoked, they just managed to hide it from each other. The shame was still there. Blowing nicotine inches away from the face of another man when you had a duty to everyone else on the road. Dirty, improper, starved.
The car rumbled along. Ray wouldn’t call himself innocent or inexperienced. 6-foot-something and pretty solid, he drank, cursed, had to shave every so often, got into plenty of trouble. It just didn’t seem like your kind of trouble. But was that always a bad thing?
You had your nose pressed to the glass of the window, suddenly taken by something outside. “Pull over real quick! You’ve gotta try this one place.”
He did as you said, parking in the white glow of a Chinese spot, following you in after you took a final drag, crushing the tobacco under your heel. “I’m telling you- instant hangover cure.” you held the door open, jacket now back over your shoulders.
“You’re hungover?” Ray questioned, eyes adjusting to the bright ambiance. It was a smaller place, not unlike any other takeout spot in the city, void of customers at the late hour.
“Not yet,” you smirked over your shoulder. Ray watched timidly as your hand slid a few wrapped, green candies to a girl sitting behind the counter. “Shouldn’t you be in bed?”
The girl, who probably should be in bed, fought you quietly in Cantonese, and you simply apologized. “Alright, I’m sorry. Two of the usual. Oh, and two beers. Please.”
Ray took the liberty of grabbing two frosty bottles from the freezer, not missing how the girl disappeared up the steps into her house, rather than the restaurant’s kitchen. “How much?” he asked over your shoulder.
You shook your head fervently. “Doesn’t cost anything.”
“You’re stealing?” he whispered harshly.
“No!” you whispered just as intensely. “They never make me pay.”
“Oh,” Ray dropped his defenses, following you to a round table in the middle of the square floor, “how come?”
You leaned back in your seat, wooden legs an inch or two off the ground. “Some guys tried to rob the owner. I stopped ‘em, watched the store a few nights, and now she lets me eat for free.” Ray’s eyes just short of popped out his head when you lifted the hem of your shirt over a bit of your abdomen. “It’s how I got this.”
There was a dark, running scar close to your ribs. “How- why- are you okay?” He fretted, astounded at your laissez faire attitude.
“It’s fine, it’s old. I knew he had a shiv.” you slung your arm over the back of the chair, having opened your beer.
“You knew, and you still spat with them?” He could imagine you in a narrow bathroom, attempting to stitch yourself up. “That’s…brave,” he couldn’t lie.
You leaned forward, opening his drink for him. “Just community. She made sure everyone was fed at night, anyway.”
“That’s your movement,” Ray ran a finger up and down the damp glass, “isn’t it?” Getting shanked in the dark to keep a small business safe was definitely the unseen side of the subculture you subscribed to.
He watched as your eyes lit up with the same passion you had on that stage. “Yeah! Community, safety, liberation- can’t survive if we’re all taking from each other. It’s why I make music.” Ray smiled at your selflessness. Handsome and heroic, in a roguish way. He was wrong. He still wanted you, bad.
“You’d be a hot drummer.” That certainly caught him off guard, almost sending alcohol flying out his nose.
Ray put a hand to a dry nostril, just in case. “What?”
“I mean it,” you bent at the waist over the table. “Little hairspray,” you mussed his growing hair, “little eye-gunk, tighten the shirt, shoulder tat- you’d be perfect.”
“You’re just saying that,” Ray sat obediently as you tried to dry-style him. He’d let you do that all night, if you felt like it.
An older woman, probably the owner, came down the steps, carrying two bowls in pink pajamas. You sat back, leaving his hair a mess when you rubbed your hands together in excitement. “Thank you, Mrs. Tsang.” you passed him a set of chopsticks. “You’re not ready for this.”
“Where to next?” You asked Ray, stepping out onto the sidewalk.
“Wherever you want,” he tried his best to etch your image into his long-term memory before you both ran into some guys.
Tall, big, guys, managing to tower over you both, each in more leather than you had in your closet. You didn’t look as scared as Ray felt, his knees threatening to buckle, as you just held onto a plastic bag holding the remains of your dinner. “Were we in your way?”
“The old lady around?” the biggest one grunted, getting awfully close.
You stood, unfazed. “Yeah, and I am too.”
He jabbed his finger into your chest, barely far from nose to nose. “You wanna get cut again?”
“Barely felt it last time.”
The drop of sweat on Ray’s forehead hardly had a moment to roll down before a fist flew to the middle of your face, a grotesque sound ricocheting off the walls of the empty street. The gang of strangers, once they saw you were sufficiently hurt, bolted into the night, Mrs. Tsang appearing in the window of her establishment.
“Are you okay?” Ray panicked, helping you steady yourself inside, collecting your gushing blood in your cupped hands, ignoring your complaints about how he made you drop your noodles. His heartbeat raced as a few drips got onto his shirt, feeling even more disoriented when the owner said a few things in another language.
“Bathroom,” you pointed a red finger down a hallway near the steps. Ray got the door open, and you woozily sat on the sink, body weight leaning away from the mirror at your back. “Aid kit in the cabinet.”
You were right, and it was sitting next to a half full bottle of liquor. He slowly pried your hands from your nose, bracing himself. “Let me see,” he coaxed you, cringing at the air you hissed out through your teeth.
It wasn’t all bad, Ray could tell that underneath all the blood was just a little discoloration and a deep gash. “At least it’s not broken,” he said shakily, ducking behind you to let some cold water run over a towel he found in the little white box.
“Another point for me,” you managed to get out through pained groans, blood trickling into your mouth.
Ray tried to remember his boy scout training, bringing himself to wipe away some of the drying nastiness from your face. “This happens often?”
He scarcely touched you when you recoiled in pain. “Why d’you think they kept this stuff in here?” you attempted a weak smile.
This wasn’t gonna get done without some outside help. He grabbed the bottle by the neck, passing it to you, hands on his hips as you pretty much emptied the entire thing. Ray resumed, and the gentleness of the cool cloth, combined with the alcohol, seemed to relax you. “You’re pretty dauntless.” he stood in between your legs.
You hummed lazily- apparently a pretty crazy lightweight, at least when you were losing liters. “Someone has to be.”
When all the reddish brown was gone, Ray inspected that wound. It was fairly deep for a punch, still red and open to the air. Stitches, this needed stitches. “You’re gonna hate me for this,” he frowned, plucking a suture from the sterile container.
“I’d never,” you half-slurred, though you swallow at the sight of the barb.
Ray was halfway done, stuffing his fear and channeling a camp counselor as he brought the thread in and out the skin of your nasal dorsum. He didn’t know where he was expecting this impromptu outing to go, but definitely not here. But he didn’t really mind, either- he’d stitch you up a thousand times over if it meant he could hold your face. He couldn’t be bothered with what that said about him when he had your skin under his fingers.
“Taking care of me,” you muttered, not even flinching when the needle dove out to be tied in a knot.
“Someone has to,” Ray stepped back, pleased with his medical handiwork. His mother would be proud. “How’s that fee-”
“Be in my band.”
“What?”
You looked catatonic. “Go to Canada with me- California- wherever.”
Ray had a humorless chuckle, doing his best to wash his hands behind you. “You’re drunk,” he rationalized with himself, not looking into your eyes when he put a child’s bandage over the now closed wound.
You tried to turn to him completely with your butt perched on the edge of the sink, but you lost your balance and had to be held upright by him. “I’ll teach you the drums- something. I just don’t wanna lose you. Forget about that stuffy school.”
Hands on your ribs, he so desperately wanted to agree. To do what your spirit had been begging him to do and run away. Dirty, improper, starved. You changed his perspective in a matter of mere hours- shouldn’t he have to?
“I have to stay here,” he forced out, “I have things here.”
Your eyes were partly pained, partly glazed with your intoxication. Your green Lamb Chop adhesive stuck out like a bullseye somewhere below knitted brows. “Can we compromise?”
“I don’t understand how this is a compromise,” Ray sat mortified in the 24-hour tattoo clinic.
You laid on your stomach, pants hiked down just under your tailbone, where a tattoo gun was currently inking you with “R.S.”. “You didn’t wanna run away with me,” you laughed drunkenly, the humorous part of being inebriated manifesting itself.
He shrunk, a pang in his chest somewhere. The tattoo artist eyed Ray for a moment. “I’m sorry-”
“Don’t be sorry,” you let your eyes close. “I don’t wanna remember you sorry.”
“Are you sure you don’t want one?” you nabbed a marker from the front desk as you both left.
“I’m sure,” Ray nodded, trying to figure out where to go. He should find your friends- drive morning and night until he found them, before he dropped everything and drove out the state with you in the backseat.
A few accented voices interrupted him, and he abruptly realized that he was grasping your hand. Your bandmates, hobbling over after their own adventures.
“This is where you went?” the British bassist started. “We’ve been looking all over for you.”
Ray heard you groan, and you wordlessly started pulling down the collar of his jacket, exposing the tag. “Can I?” you clumsily held up the stolen marker.
He let you, and you meticulously scrawled your initials into the white slip of fabric. A reminder, for as long as he kept it- almost like a tattoo for those who weren’t ready to be dirty, improper, starved. And he was never getting rid of this thing.
You finished, adjusting it for him and just taking a moment to hook your fingers in his pockets. Ray was gonna miss you, so hard. He felt like a teenager again, except this time he didn’t feel like he wasted your time, in an uncomfortable suit, spending date money his parents trusted him with. Maybe he could learn to live like you did, if you’d wait long enough.
“Could you and your boyfriend hurry?” your friend complained. You sighed, booze still in your system.
“You won’t forget me?”
“Never.”
You reluctantly peeled away from him and down the street with your friends. Ray watched your retreating figure as you walked off into the darkness, until you turned fast on your heels, sprinting over and jumping into his arms. The kiss was messy, and rushed, probably splitting your stitches and aggravating your sinuses. Laced with the fact that you’d be scattered around the country for an unknown amount of time. But it was the realest one Ray’s ever had.

There is a drawer in my childhood home's bathroom that is 'my drawer', where all my 'girl things' live. It has never been cleaned in living memory and is nigh impossible to open.
I cleaned it today.
Here are just a few things I found:
High School Musical 2 lotion with no lid
The lid
Pink and gold hair curlers. I have had naturally curly hair my entire life.
Dog shaped jelly bracelet
Tangled brand chapstick. The moment I saw it, I knew exactly what it would smell like. I smelled it, probably inhaled some sort of pathogen, and was hit with INTENSE flashbacks.
The very first blush and eye shadow I ever owned and their respective packets of makeup wipes so dry they crumbled like an ancient scroll exposed to sunlight.
My very first period pads
Parts of a Flounder costume from when I was LITERALLY FIVE YEARS OLD
High School Musical bracelet
A domino with Disney Princess' faces instead of numbers
Cut up socks from Princess Leia costumes
Mustard-packet-like samples of hair gel
Tiny little alligator clips
Chunky hair ties I distinctly remember trying to eat because I thought they were candy (tooth marks included)
Four binder clips
The One Ring
I'm serious
Literally, the One Ring. It's from a LotR party my cousins had 13 years ago and I just. have it.
Indian doll slipper from the Dolls Around the World collection
Clips with animals on them including: panda, hippo, peacock, unicorn, and elephant
SO MANY brands of curly hair products. I know what each and every one smells like, when, where, and how I used them
Bi and lesbian colored metal butterfly clips
Enough bobby pins to make a porcupine
Enough hair ties to make a ladder out the window
Enough clips to keep a tree's leaves attached all winter
Enough tiny elastic hair ties to choke and entire elementary school of children
So. Much. Hair.
#time capsule#high school musical#high school musical 2#cookie crumbs#i may be carbon dating myself with this one#was i a girly girl? looking at this drawer maybe i was#Mom. my hair has never been able to grow longer than my shoulders. WHY did we need all those hair ties???#I'm just glad there was nothing living in the drawer tbh#anyway#this is different than the stuff i normally post but it was just too good

I have. Had a realization.
In-fic, it is Feb/March-ish of 2024. Gale is currently 29, Astarion is about to be 27. Hestia is seven-ish, and the baby was born when Gale was 21ish? Yes?
IRL, it is August 2024. I am currently 29. My sister is 27.
I am losing my mind.
I was a junior during the 2012 Olympics. Originally Astarion said that he was 14 when he skated to Golden, but that was when he thought his birthday was Jan 1, and skating season is usually finished by March, yeah??? So he would have be 13, little baby EIGHTH grader, teeny tiny child? Protect him????
And the Sebastian incident, he said he was 16, so that would have been some time in 2014, I’d only just graduated and was pretending to be A Real Adult, my sister was a tenth grader reading Julius Caesar and all that shiz, we were binge watching episodes of Pokémon on my chunky laptop like they were a line of crushed smarties on a coffee table and we had no nerve endings left in our sinuses.
Gale was 15 when he met Mystra, frickin 2010 or some shiz, I was still deeply uninterested in men as a concept at that point I’m ace but that’s beside the point so’s he, what were you thinking lady, I have a different sister who’s 8 years younger than me, when I was 22 the humans her size may as well have been INFANTS, who goes shopping for college boyfriends among incoming high school freshmen, you’re NASTY
Married at 19, okay maybe not so weird generally, that’s what my mom did, she’s fine, to each their own, but like that’s when I was heading into my first proper burnout, I was not a PERSON, absolute brick made of oatmeal, also I was still a TINY BABY, that was heckin ten years ago, heckin 2014, Astarion “falls” and Gale’s heckin legally bound to his heckin manager frick 2014 seriously who authorized this
Hestia would have been born some time in 2017, if she’s already 7 when the fic started in fall 2023, some time in March–September since we haven’t seen her birthday on screen yet, so absolute earliest she could have been conceived would have been like, June 2016, so Gale would have gotten the ultimatum in probably July or August, chest injury probably happened earlier that year, maybe March–Juneish if he spent a year retraining his voice and lungs and it overlapped with paternal leave post-Hessie, and Astarion asked “was that the year that—?” so his first baby probably died like, maybe mid-2015? That’s right when I got my heckin puppy. Gale’s son should be as old as my puppy dog. Jeez, Astarion escapes to law school right as Gale gets Metaphorically Orbed. Congrats Gale, you’re 20 and having the Worst Year Ever
Also, shoutout to Astarion for finishing law school in 3 years? Class of 2018? That seems so fast with like pre-law and stuff but I don’t know how the UK does it, also he’s a smart boy, GO, be FREE my son (sort of not really psych jk)
But also ugh living in a two-bed studio apartment for at least five years assuming they lived in student housing before that? How is your mind still intact
But just. Hessie. Born 2017. The year I started going into my SECOND major episode of burnout. Heck, do I know any seven year olds??? How old are my little cousins?? Heck, it would the ones who didn’t live very close, how big is a seven year old?????? My close friends have a six year old, but she’s usually doing her own thing when I hang out with them so I usually visualize her as so much smaller, I think I might be literally incapable of comprehending having spawned a tiny growing human and having them in close proximity to myself since 2017
Congrats, you’ve broken me
Yeah don't be fooled by Gale talking about how old he feels, they're both SO young and so much of the shit that they've gone through happened to them when they were literally children. Astarion was thirteen when he won gold, Gale was fifteen when he met Mystra. It's one of the reasons why that brief mention of Romeo and Juliet is so loaded, because Astarion is looking back and remembering how it felt like his whole world was defined by this one thing when he was that age, and how much has changed since then. How much more he's had the chance to be, and how he was so close to losing the chance at that. Also one of the reasons why it's so easy to write him being protective of Hestia. He can see Gale trying to give her a better childhood than either of them had and he's absolutely going to try and help.
