reblogging this post to kick off bweird's OC-TOBER EVENT!!!! emmothy @chiropteracupola and i are joining forces to bring you ten* entire days of CAVERN SAINTS GOODNESS (and by Goodness i mean Badness. since the whole story is Profoundly Upsetting :D) and by golly we're gonna make you look at those guys

given that we decided to do this. Earlier Today. and we have School. nothing New new for this post. here is a recap of the guys though

oh yes of Course

gather round friends and heed my (and em’s) words about some GUYS (i have nothing formally written but i am Thinking About Them)

the cavern saints is a loosely cosmic horror style western narrative that deals with such fun things as werewolves! capitalism! trains! capitalism! catholicism! capitalism! There Is Something In The Pits! and capitalism!

it centers around four people who live in the town of san cristóbal, brendan josué kelly, aoife maría kelly, isaiah de la croix, and father domenica salvador

brendan is aoife’s older brother, and together with isaiah, they decide to pack up and move out to a mining town in texas to try to get a fresh start and make some money. isaiah starts up a general store and cares for aoife while brendan works in the mines, but then there’s a cave-in and the mine entrance is completely blocked

when the rocks are finally pushed aside, brendan is the only one left alive, bloodied and broken and monstrous

(congrats! he’s some sort of werewolf now!)

the rest of the story is Vague but focuses on the growing romance between brendan and isaiah and aoife getting into lots of trouble and father domenica alternately being Wildly Suspicious and Very Fond of brendan while she grieves her husband (all the while the Thing in the pit is coming)

and it’s. hoooo boy it’s good

when the saints have abandoned you you must create your own!!!
