Milan and Ranva headcanons

because my babies' (Aiden's and Henry's) parents deserve some love and attention after all I put these poor souls through

Aiden's father Milan has lived in the village all his life, he comes from an old family of hunters that is pretty esteemed in Woodside

Ranva isn't from the village, she's a foreigner, a girl Milan brought home after his travels one day and married despite the disapproval of the villagers

she didn't have it easy because the people had prejudices and found her kinda odd

these two were so in love with each other that they didn't give a damn about anything people said/thought and I think that's nice

Milan had two childhood best friends, Holly and Levin, who were also their next door neighbors

they became Ranva's friends, too, especially Holly and her were close

Ranva and Milan were pretty fun to be around and the both were very good hearted people, that's why their friends adored them a lot

Holly and Levi's daughter Hazel was born only a couple months after Henry, so the two young mothers spent a lot of time together

Ranva helped her friend when she gave birth by the way, she also helped out as a midwife a lot in the village afterwards

also since Ranva knew a lot about herbs and their healing power, she was sort of the village's... (idk how to name it,) traditional healer (?)

she loved nature and her most precious thing beside her family was her garden, she liked spending time there

her and Milan also loved spending time in the forest together, they would go out for picnics or Ranva would accompany Milan on his hunt (not hunting herself but collecting mushrooms and berries and herbs and stuff, also helping him tracking sometimes)

Milan loved fairy tales, he kept reading his family's fairy tale book over and over, for himself or to his wife and/or son(s)

he's fairly good at woodworking. not only does he know how to build bows and furniture, he also loved making wooden toys for his sons

Ranva loved to walk barefoot. like everywhere. even in the forest

she too noticed upcoming changes in the weather hours before they even happened, that's where Henry got it from

I swear she's like a Disney princess or smth

they had a cat named Luna, Milan had her even before he and Ranva got married. as a toddler Aiden was obsessed with that cat

Milan was such a good hunter that the fae invited him to the Wild Hunt, which is the greatest possible honor for a hunter, at least for one that believes in the fae and the old ways

he still practiced a lot of traditional hunting rituals and taught them to his boys as well

the two taught their children a respectful contact with the forest and it's plants and animals, because the forest was really important for both of them

they also homeschooled Aiden and Henry instead of letting them go to school, teaching them all they knew the boys could use in life

Milan brought his wife wild flowers every time he came back from a longer hunting trip

they loved to dance with each other even when there wasn't music

Milan could be pretty grumpy, especially in the morning, but Ranva thought it's cute

this man cried when he held his son in his arms for the first time

Ranva and him were a good team, they complemented each other pretty well

while Milan is more of a childlike person, Ranva is what people would call an "old soul"

they love to cuddle. this family is so affectionate you have no idea

the two both always wanted a family, so they were really happy that they had Henry and Aiden, they really loved the two

Ranva used to sing a lullaby for her sons, while Milan liked to read them a bedtime story

she liked baking for her family (and to make jam!), especially when Aiden helped her

I have to say I didn't think about writing a story about this AU in english. I don't have a plot (but @smug-albatross does!), just a few ideas and lots of headcanons... Maybe I am going to write something short in czech but I don't feel like I would be able to write what I want in english... but this doesn't involve headcanons so here are some of my ideas!

For the beginning I have to say I didn't think of a particular school system so it quickly became a strange mish mash. Sorry about that.

- Herons are housemates. They knew about each other for a long time but they didn't get closer before their first year when they all moved in one house.

- The house belongs to Lydia's family but it was empty for few years. It's nearby school and it's huge and she didn't want to be there alone so getting few housemates seemed like a good idea.

- First few months were quite of an adventure because nothing worked in the house. They were fights over hot water everyday and everyone kept a flashlight handy.

- Kitchen is just a huge chaos. There are like two identical plates (one is cracked), the rest of them is different.

- Jesper has his favourite fork. Nobody is allowed to touch it.

- All the boys somehow ended up on school rowing team. Edvin has no idea how he got there or where his spare time for Rowling rowing comes from.

- Lydia is technically not on any team but she's unbeatable at orienteering.

- Sharks and Wolves are rivaling rowing teams.

- Kloof can't be stopped. Noone knows how she can get out of locked house. She is usually found in a office of proffesor Starfollower. Hal is the only one who is able to get her out.

- Jesper knows everyone and usually not in a good way. Stefan has to save him more times than he wish he would have to but at least Jesper usually has every information you would like to hear.

- If anyone finds Edvin sleeping in the living room (which happens quite often), they will bring him a blanket. He's always cold.

- Edvin doesn't cook every day. He doesn't have time for it so they usually order some food or eat anything that can be found in the fridge which is usually not much.

- A guy from pizzeria has a crush on Stig. Stig doesn't want to use him but twins do that a lot.

- Hal keeps other Herons from failing their classes. (But that's nothing new.)

- For few weeks their proffesors were thinking that there's only one twin... til the exams came.

- Parties are forbidden in the house. The few ones they had didn't go well. Stig wanted to jump out of the window (He didn't. Thanks Gorlog for Björn and Ingvar.), Lottie flooded the bathroom (Nina still finds it really funny.) and Wulf was looking for Ulf in the mirror. (That was actually funny.)

- Ingvar has a cat. Or maybe cat has Ingvar. It's hard to say. She's called Madam and Kloof is afraid of her. (And Lydia too. It's a scary cat.)
