In which Tim is feeling down and its up to Jason to help lift his spirits during patrol.

"Sometimes it just... feels like everyone forgot I exist." Tim admitted, staring out over Gotham's skyline.

His mask felt tight on his face, and if it weren't for how exhausted he felt, he might reach up and remove it. But as it were, his limbs felt heavy, as if the tiredness that never seemed to end had sunk deep into his bones. Instead, he dropped his head down, resting his forehead against his scrunched up knees.

"I can relate." Tim snorted, turning his head to the side to focus on the man next to him. Jason was leaning against the roof access hatch, a brick wall juxtaposed against glass as a thin line of smoke twirled up into the night from the end of his cigarette. "The feeling of being replaced just kinda dulls out after a while, doesn't it? You start wondering if you ever meant that much to begin with. Makes you stop feeling angry, and then you just get tired."

"I feel like that's targeted." Tim commented, watching as Jason cracked a smile. He shook his head, helmet hooked under his arm as he pulled the cigarette from his lips.

"Never. Past that, remember?" Jason stated, stubbing out the cigarette and placing the burnt out butt in one of his empty utility pockets. Tim couldn't help but laugh. "What?"

"You try so hard to look like an asshole, but you still don't litter. Think Bruce can say that?" Tim asked, watching as Jason came to sit down beside him, long legs dangling over the edge of the rooftop towards the ground below. Waves crashed against the docks a ways below them, and Tim let his attention shift to that.

"Nope. Bruce used to leave metal shells from smoke bombs everywhere, and if it wasn't that, it was batarangs. Don't even get me started on all the rubble." Jason joked, and Tim felt some of the heaviness in his bones lessen. He managed to lift his head, eyes forward as he looked out into Gotham's waters. "Tim, nobody forgot you exist."

"Sure feels like it." Tim sighed, but the warmth of a hand clasping his shoulder seemed to halt the growing pit in his stomach. For a moment, Tim felt like someone actually saw him. That he wasn't just another fired Robin, that maybe nobody had meant to leave him out for the waves to swallow up.

"I know. And I also know that no matter what I tell you, the only person that's gonna change your mind is you." Jason explained, squeezing Tim's shoulder as he spoke. "But you know as well as I do that this family is about as good at considering others as Catwoman is at not stealing something. I don't think Dick meant to hurt you when he made Damian his Robin, Timbers."

"I know, I know." Tim said, lifting his hands to rub at his face, fingers wiping the sweat from beneath the domino mask. "But it still hurts."

"It's always going to hurt, Tim. You got thrust out of your identity and now you're left fumbling to find your own, detached from what you're used to. I get it." Jason removed his hand from Tim's shoulder, and Tim realized how important that touch had been in holding him upright as the exhaustion threatened to settle back in. "But I think you're doing a good job. The whole "Red Robin" identity kinda suits you, y'know? Especially the feather cape."

"You're a bitch." Tim said, finding some reserve of energy to reach out and swat at Jason, who easily leaned out of reach, laughing as his lips curled up into a smile, scars scrunching in the process. "But... you know, you're right."

"Wow, what a surprise! I'm actually right about something. It's almost like I know what I'm talking about, isn't it?" Jason teased, expression softening as he reached out and nudged Tim's shoulder. "You'll be alright, kid. But if you tell anyone I was nice to you, I'll kill you."

"I almost believe that." Tim stated, snorting as he watched Jason tug the helmet back over his head. "Back to work?" Tim's eyes followed where Jason looked, watching as a familiar delivery vehicle pulled into the docks, an advertisement for refrigeration plastered across the side.

"Back to work. C'mon, birdbrain. Maybe kicking the shit out of Cobblepot will make you feel better."

But how did he create that Toga clone in the Overhaul arc? The one that attacked Lock Rock?

I see, so the memories are updated with the original Twice’s point of last contact, and not with any of his clones. That can be used to verify who the original is in the future. I guess this didn’t work back when he only had himself, but with the League it will be much easier!

That also explains why he didn’t clone Toga in last week’s chapter!

Ayyy Spinner taking charge! And also using gaming lingo!

Spinner is doing his best trying to relieve Shigaraki’s burden and I think that’s the most precious thing!

JB meme translation strikes again.

“Divine punishment”, yeah, yeah... Cult. I knew he had a quirk like this, but it still feels like brainwashing.

Also, someone mentioned on discord that this mask is like AFO’s. And the cult-like following is similar as well. Having the League and especially Spinner go against this really cements their difference from AFO’s followers as well.

Finally we get to know what Spinner’s quirk is and why he didn’t use it in the Forest Lodge arc! It’s because they were on flat land that time! This reminds me of Spider-man’s wall climbing ability.

Instead of what I feared about Liberation army trying to recruit Spinner like they did Twice, they actually don’t seem to think much of him. Again this ties back to the strength of quirks. They value Twice’s double ability over Spinner, regardless in the difference in their fighting ability. I think Spinner can beat Twice in a fight, but y’know...

Spinner!! Now there’s nobody in the League without an arm injury? (Shigaraki’s soon to come)

Spinner pulled a Zoro, and I almost didn’t recognize him in that flashback with that hair! He almost looks like Shigaraki or the First OFA holder... 

“You Must Die” that’s a wonderful shirt you’ve got there.

His room is really similar to what Shigaraki’s looked like, all cluttered and messy with garbage everywhere. He has/had low expectations for himself and was just living for the sake of it. But what first motivated him was Stain, who inspired him to make a change in a society he thought was just the way it is.

But now this is a part where I did not expect! Spinner is actually a lot like Shigaraki, and he was “empty” back then. Stain might be what made Spinner walk outside, but Shigaraki was the one who kept him going. After hearing Shigaraki state his grand, impossible goal, Spinner wants to do everything he can to see that future! He wants to destroy the world that held no expectations and put him down at every turn.

At first, when this arc started, I couldn’t figure out if Spinner is going to change sides or not because of his dissatisfaction. But, now I’m certain that he saw the effort Shigaraki is making to realize his dreams hand he’s touched by that the same way he’s touched by Stain’s conviction. He’s established a strong bond with the League, and he’ll follow them to heaven or hell.

I have no idea how they managed to keep Giran safe in the fall, but I’m glad!

First I thought Shigaraki was gonna flop to the ground, but then I see him actually use long-range decay! Him being able to direct where the decay goes is a new thing. He’s doing this FMA style, or Overhaoul-style... but be careful of who you emulate.

Ah, I guess the clone from last chapter didn’t have that ability (wonder what would have happened if he did).

Tomura’s shoes starts disintegrating due to it making contact with the decaying floor. But his foot didn’t start crumbling so I believe Shigaraki’s not actually affected by his own quirk (not that he’s ever tried it on himself for obvious reasons)

Also in that last panel there you can’t see his left hand. Oof.

The Father hand is also destroyed, so this is probably the last time Shigaraki’s ever wearing a hand on his face (unless he takes one of his other hands and make his costume asymmetrical). That’s got to cause a lot of grief, but he’s been covering his face less and less and not getting as angry for the previous times the hand had been mistreated. Plus, he’s got more important things to focus on.

So, this is an interesting (and devastating) turn for Shigaraki. I can see him and Giran getting prosthesis, or the doctor to give some kind of regeneration thing. But I don’t think it’ll be that easy because I think this is happening for a reason, and I want to see what it will all lead to. Shigaraki’s ability is halved, like how Compress is - and Compress is still able to fight, so I think it’s more of an emotional thing.

Back in chapter 222, in one panel of Tenko’s flashback, I saw a hand disintegrating in a similar fashion to this panel. This leads me to think that if next chapter’s not switching over to someone like Dabi, that when it refocuses on Shigaraki, we’ll see another flashback.
