I'm happy that Marper lived out the rest of their lives together in peace but I don't want them to be dead.

Ugh I couldn’t agree more. All day it’s felt like a dream, which may sound silly because it’s just a show, but seriously. I keep forgetting that we’ll never see Monty’s bright smile again, or hear his sassy, “Ye a little faith” when someone presents a seemingly impossible dilemma. We’ll never get the cute banter between him and Murphy, or the sweet kinship with Raven. Monty won’t have the chance to teach Emori how to garden on the new planet and Echo won’t get to tease him about his pacifist ways. He won’t be able to reconnect with Miller after all this time, or get to know this new Clarke after their six years of separation. Him and Bellamy can’t race each other to the dinner table when Madi and Jordan had caught the fish for the night. He’ll never find that carefree friendship with Octavia that they shared long ago when only the grounders were their biggest problem. He won’t get to see the peace he worked so hard for. 

Harper didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to her space sisters; Echo, Emori, and Raven. They were her closest family after all this time and now their sisterly pack is broken, missing a key component. With all the war and chaos going on, Harper won’t have the time to sit down and tell Clarke just how much she appreciates her and everything she sacrificed for them. She can’t stay up late with Madi when Clarke is on a midnight hunt, braiding her hair and practicing her bedtime stories for when her baby boy would arrive. She won’t get to rekindle her friendship with Octavia, and convince the Blake siblings to love while they still can because tomorrow isn’t promised. Miller and her were probably the closest when they first came to the ground, both just as loyal as ever, fighting side by side. She can’t look to him for security when they hear a sudden noise in the woods, afraid it will bring about their demise yet again. The lighthearted eye rolls at Murphy’s snide comments will remain only a memory. Her light will shine on, but there will always be a distinct flicker in its flame.

I am so content with their well deserved rest, but gosh I am going to miss them oh so much.

Rather subdued but also somehow shriek-y thoughts about 411

Guys, Bellamy was on FIRE this episode.  From “WHO DIED AND MADE YOU CHANCELLOR” to reminding Abby of how much they both love Kane to just never fucking giving up on his sister.  He was raw and angry and I loved every second of it.  I bet this was Bob’s favorite episode of the season because he got to be sassy and fighty and cry-y all in 43 minutes.

Also on fire? RAVEN.  AND THEY BROUGHT BACK SINCLAIR!!  That was amazing and I am starting to think that Becca might have also been ALIE, at least a little bit?  With all her “give up on pain and just go to space” shit she felt shady to me, but idk that might be because Becca herself was probably just a little shady.  But Raven CHOOSING LIFE in such a dark episode was a real bright spot for me, and I hope that she keeps talking to Sinclair because he is SUCH a lovely presence on this show.

Speaking of shady: DAMN JAHA YOU ARE A DISAPPOINTMENT ON ALL FRONTS, FOREVER for this.  They did a good job of selling him as the brains behind the operation and showing just how he manipulated Clarke into thinking this was the only option.  I still feel like they’re leaving Clarke as an enigma and rapidly running out of time, because while Eliza is selling the SHIT out of “Clarke is scared and conflicted and being pushed into this” I do think we need something more from Clarke that isn’t defensive plot exposition.

Murphy being the reliable cockroach he is was amazing, however, as is the continued canon insistence that Murphy is the only person Bellamy can beat in a fight.  (Sidenote: if Abby had tranqs, why not use it on Murphy right away?  Or did she just want to see what her son-in-law was made of?)  I am also into Abby the Rebel and I appreciated that she was like “shut up Jaha DID YOU LEARN NOTHING FROM SEASON ONE?”  Abby, bringing the realness, as always.

One of the things I *didn’t* love was the Niylah scene, mostly because it felt like it was there to give Clarke’s decisions context, which was needed, but...couldn’t she have talked to her mom about that? I feel like we’re way overdue for a Clarke/Abby convo.  It felt tonally off, anyway, like it was dropped in from an entirely different episode.  It also feels like Niylah has been reduced to being Clarke’s cheerleader, when last season she was allowed to show some spunk and challenge her decisions.  Idk, it wasn’t my fave.

Also not my fave: everything that happened in Arkadia.  The last scene between Jasper and Monty was heartbreaking and really wonderfully acted, but I’m not quite sure why Jasper had to turn it into Jonestown Part II.  That felt like “needlessly upping the stakes/going grimdark” in a way that made me very uncomfortable.  It also sort of made it about Harper and that doesn’t sit super well with me. 

Back to things that did work: Bellamy just straight up calling Clarke’s bluff and then her subsequently breaking down and being unable to kill him despite being certain that him opening that door will lead to the end of mankind.  Clarke had a choice between “the human race” and “Bellamy Blake’s life” and she chose Bellamy.  (I also really liked that Bellamy promised Abby he’d protect Clarke, because he knows-- better than literally any one else-- that Clarke’s safety would be her primary concern.) They’ve got a LOT of shit to talk about/fight about, and I wish we’d seen that this episode but I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed for the next one.

Octavia and Bellamy hugging was e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g to me, and while I really wished she’d actually said “I love you too” back to her goddamn brother-- who just risked his life to get to her-- “Skaikru gets 100 bunks and Bellamy gets one of them” was definitely Octavia’s way of saying I love you so I’ll let it slide.  I was also very into Octavia just being OVER Jaha’s bullshit, and if the next episode is just the Blake siblings snarking on Jaha and then staring him down I’d be all about that.

Sidenote: I really wanted Raven to radio in and be like “hey guys, so...I need a ride?” but being like “I AM ALIVE” was a nice moment too.

Next week: That guy who is a constant dick continues to be a constant dick, and I swear to god Bellamy and Clarke had better yell at each other for a solid hour because those two have some shit to work out.

The 100 Prediction Game: Hiatus Week

We’re almost halfway through, guys! What are your predictions for the rest of the season?

Date: 11/03/2017

Romance:

1. Bellarke kiss (How it happens is irrelevant): I’m less sure than I was at the beginning of the season, but I’m going to stay hopeful and say yes!

2. Octavia love interest (Y/N and Name): Yes. It’s very obvious that they’re setting up Ilian as her new love interest.

3. Raven love interest (Y/N and Name): Not sure about this one. Lindsey teased that there would be someone, but the only one I can think of is Jackson (maybe they’ll bond while working on the island). She had a nice moment with Murphy in 4x04, but *see #7*

4. Kabby get married/proposal in some form: I don’t see a marriage or proposal happening, but I do see them promising to each other that they’ll get through this to have a life they’ve always wanted together after this is all over.

5. Monty/Harper will stay together for the season: Yes

6. Miller/Bryan will stay together for the season: No. As much as I hate it, I have to say that the end of 4x02 hinted their breakup, and I’m pretty sure something will be going on between Bryan and Riley. Since the actor playing Bryan can only be in so many episodes this season, this is how they’ll make his character exit the show, and I’m glad that it’s not by killing him off, at least.

7. John/Emori will stay together for the season: Yes, they really seem to love each other, even though I’m pretty sure Emori isn’t being 100% honest with John (but we might find out more about it later).

8. Other: Write down other romance related plots you predict will happen.

Deaths:

1. Kane dies: No

2. Abby dies: No (even though 4x05 scared me a bit, I think they will find a solution to what’s happening with her)

3. Echo dies: Sadly, I don’t think so.

4. Jasper dies: Everything is pointing to him dying. I hate this, but, yes 😭😭😭

5. Jaha dies: I was 90% sure he’s dying this season (sacrificing himself for his people, something he wanted to do back in S1, but never got to), but now I’m like at 70%. He’s already redeeming himself and he might just stay around for longer

6. Luna dies: I’ve been thinking about this and I have to say yes. It will probably be a tragic consequence of Abbykru trying to use nightblood as the solution to save everyone. Plus the fact that she’s the last nightblood puts her in more danger plot-wise, imho

7. Indra dies: No

8. Bryan dies: No. Like I said before, I think they’ll write him off by breaking him up with Miller

9. Other: Write down names who haven’t been mentioned in 1-8.

Octavia: I have worries about her surviving this season, just because she’s already ‘died’ once and everyone was relieved when it was revealed that she’s alive. TV writers like to play with viewers like that (*cough* TWD *cough*) and make you think that the character is safe now when they actually aren’t. So, leaving this here as a possibility.

Plot:

1. Roan keeps his power over the grounders: No

2. Luna becomes the new commander: No

3. The Nightblood solution will work: Yes, but maybe not in the way they expect (does it always go as expected, anyway?)

3. They will either: End up in space or stay on the ground (bonus points if you predict a possible solution)

I have to admit I’ve seen some spoilers about the finale, but since we can’t be sure that whatever the spoilers say is really what’s going to happen (I think there might be a different ending), I’m still going to take a shot at trying to predict what their solution will be.

Even though I think that space is an absurd option, after 4x05, it really looks like they might consider it at some point (even though that rocket is a two-seater; will there be more?), so I guess we’ll just have to deal with that. It was mentioned that there were criminals who were sent on a mining mission to an asteroid, and that they were the first who were injected with nightblood. Hypersleep was also mentioned. So I think that whoever is going to space might land on that asteroid and encounter their descendants (otherwise why bring it up?), which might be part of the S5 storyline. Everyone else will probably be put into hypersleep on one of the levels in Becca’s lab, but there will be a limited amount of 'life boats’, so, just like with Alpha Station, they will have to decide who gets a spot and who doesn’t.

Otherwise it will be just a select few who make it out alive, and I refuse to think about it.

4. Are we going to see any historical landmarks? (bonus for guessing which ones): Probably the collapsed Statue of Liberty that we’ve been seeing in the opening credits!

5. Gaia will find another Nightblood for the Flame: No, but she might learn about Luna and try to pressure her into taking the flame

6. Who will participate in the 4x09 battle (who’s fighting who): wait, so we know that the fight is happening in 4x09? Octavia and Roan are the only ones I can recognise from the trailer. Echo will probably be there too. I don’t really have any predictions on this, sorry.

7. Will Octavia stay an assassin (for how long?): No, I think almost dying will make her reassess her life choices

8. The Sky People and Azgeda stay allies: No, I don’t think Azgeda as a nation will ever fully accept Skaikru as their allies. But Roan will definitely work with them and stay on their side (maybe even causing many of his people to turn against him)

9. The Blake siblings will make up: Yes

10. Raven and Abby will get worse/better: I think they will get worse before they get better. I don’t see either of them dying

11. Other: Write down a plot scenario not mentioned which you think will happen.

Plot - Bellarke:

1. Will Bellarke share another hug? Yes (it will be unrealistic if they don’t! Come on, they’re constantly in life-and-death situations)

2. Will Bellamy say “I need you” in some form to Clarke? I feel like he already said it in 4x03 (“If I’m on that list, you’re on that list (because I refuse to live without you and I need you in my life)”)

3. Roan will use Bellamy against Clarke again: No

4. Someone will make a comment about their relationship/how much they mean to the other: Yes (please let it be Sassy Roan!)

5. Will either/both admit their feelings to the other: Bellamy will admit his feelings to Clarke, but only if she does first. And I feel like Clarke will be scared to do that, because everyone she’s ever loved died (but since they all might die anyway, I can see her taking this chance). We’ll see. Not 100% sure on this.

6. Bellarke sex: No, haha. That would be too rushed, imho 😉

7. Other: Write down a Bellarke scenario not mentioned which you think will happen.

What is your #1 favourite Blake siblings moment and why?

I have so many feelings about the Blakes and I really can’t choose my ultimate favorite moment so I’m just going to write about all my favorites (in no particular order). This may be very lengthy so bear with me.

1. Bellamy finding out about Octavia’s “death” (4x04)

I’m sure some of yall will think I’m crazy for this but I’m such a slut for angst. In addition to angst, this scene also provides an amazing storytelling opportunity for us to see Bellamy try to navigate a world without his little sister. It’s tragic and it will truly be Bellamy’s ultimate rock bottom, but seeing how Bellamy reacts to “losing” the person he’s raised for the past 16 years is something I’m so interested in seeing.

2. Young Bellamy and Octavia (1x06)

I can’t tell yall how many times I’ve watched the Blake flashbacks in 1x06. They provide such great insight into how the Blakes grew up and they also sparked almost all of my headcanons in terms of their life on the ark. The scene in the gif above starts off with teenage Bellamy giving young Octavia a piggyback ride and quickly progresses into a much more serious scene that showcases some of the things Bellamy and Aurora had to do to keep Octavia a secret. I really hope that we get some more Blake flashbacks at some point down the line because they’re so interesting to me.

3. This adorable moment (1x02)

God all I can say about this scene is that it’s fucking adorable. It really shows just how much they both love each other (which is a lot harder for me to say post 309 but anyways…). It’s the little moments.

4.“I won’t let anything happen to you” 2.0 (1x10)

This whole scene is so important to me. Not only do you have Bellamy finally opening up and admitting he’s scared, but you also have Octavia repeating Bellamy’s “I wont let anything bad happen to you” mantra back to him while he’s sick. I love this because it means that Bellamy has told her the story of him naming her and what he said when she was born and that’s just the cutest shit ever. More of scenes like this please and thank you.

5. The badass-siblings-duo-on-a-mission we deserved more of (2x06)

Almost no one ever talks about this episode in terms of their relationship which I really hate. I love badass sibling duos and this episode really is the epitome of that for the Blakes. It’s the two of them on a mission together and we really truly deserved more of that. It also shows a great deal of development in regard to Bellamy’s over-protection of Octavia. Obviously he’s always gonna be protective of her to a certain extent (try having “my sister, my responsibility” drilled into your brain for 16 years and just letting that go. It’s pretty much impossible) but in this episode you really see Bellamy beginning to understand how capable his sister is and I love that.  

6. Bellamy bringing Octavia the blanket (1x08)

This is such a small and simple moment but I love it so much. With everything going on in both their worlds, this scene really shows that Bellamy will always go out of his way to care for Octavia. Not to mention, the music behind this scene is amazing.

7. DEVELOPMENT!!! (2x04)

God the development from 1x01 to 2x04 is crazy. Imagine pilot!Bellamy saying the things he says to Octavia in 2x04. You literally can’t. Anyways, I love this cute sibling banter and I miss this version of Octavia.

8. Bellamy-self sacrificing-Blake (3x12)

I think the text post that floated around awhile ago really sums this scene up. Just minutes before, Bellamy was telling Clarke that sacrificing herself was a stupid plan, but the second Emerson started to hurt Octavia, Bellamy put his weapon down and gave himself up. My feelings on this scene are a little mixed, but I felt like I should include it for some reason.  

9. “You’ll always fit in with me” (3x03)

My love for this scene knows no bounds. It’s just so layered. At first glance it’s a very cute sibling scene in comparison to the majority of their scenes in this season, but if you look closer you’ll see how sad it really is. Bellamy has gone from “my sister doesn’t leave this camp” to “if you need to leave I get that.” which is amazing. He is willing to let Octavia go and although he understands why she needs to leave, it breaks him inside. Bellamy Blake has the biggest fucking heart in the universe and this scene only further proves that. He’s willing to push down the pain of Octavia leaving because he thinks it’s what will make her happy and that’s all he’s ever wanted for her. I think this scene also shows some of the father/daughter aspects of their relationship. Bellamy letting Octavia go is the big one, however, there are more subtle ways in which this scene lets us know that the Blake relationship is often reminiscent of a parent/child relationship. You have Octavia saying “then I can finally get out of here” without realizing how much her saying that hurts Bellamy. Octavia can’t and never will understand some of the ways in which Bellamy cares for her, very similar to how children never truly understand the things their parents do for them. The layers of this scene and also the fact that their relationship goes so downhill soon after this make this scene tragic, but also one of my favorites.

10. Six-year-old Bellamy’s promise to baby Octavia (1x06)

Thinking about this scene after 4x04 is so heart wrenching. Bellamy’s “I wont let anything bad happen to you, Octavia. I promise” is such a constant thread for him and I love the fact that he has told Octavia the story of her birth and his promise to her (see 1x10). I’m also 100% certain that these words are playing on a loop in Bellamy’s mind and all he can think about is how colossally he failed. Fuck.

11. Arguably the happiest moment in the show (2x04)

Okay idk if this is actually the happiest moment in the show but it’s definitely up there. They both thought they would never see each other again after the s1 finale but they unknowingly found their way back to each other and it’s fucking beautiful. This scene is one of those moments of pure happiness that’s so rare on The 100.

12. Shit really hits the fan (1x06)

No one understands how badly I want to see exactly what happened right after this. Did Bellamy say something to try and fix things? Did Octavia try to escape again? Did they shock lash her and did Bellamy freak out? How did they find out she was Bellamy’s sister and not just an unaccounted member of the ark? Was this their last moment of seeing each other before O’s arrest or did they have another moment to say goodbye? So many questions…

13. This adorable reunion (2x16)

I love this scene for a number of reasons. If you think about it, both Bellamy and Octavia had no idea if the other was okay/alive. Octavia knew that Bellamy was the inside man at MW but she had no idea whether he was still alive and last Bellamy had heard, Octavia was in TonDC right before the missile hit. The look of utter relief on each of their faces upon seeing the other one alive and *relatively* well is so important and underrated.

14. The things Bellamy did for Octavia on the Ark (1x06)

One of main reasons I love 1x06 is because you get to see some the things Bellamy had to do to keep Octavia a secret (like I mentioned in #2). I really wish we got to see more of the sacrifices he had to make for the safety of his family because I’m sure there we things a lot more serious than this that he had to do to make sure no one found out about Octavia’s existence. (I also wish Octavia knew/could understand what he’s done for her but lemme not get into that right now)

15. The hand-neck thing!! (2x05)

This is just one of the many times that the Blakes do this hand-neck thing while hugging and it’s the actual cutest. The fact that they both do it is so nuanced and really shows how siblings pick up a lot of the same habits and mannerisms.

16. Bellamy taking Octavia outside for the first time (1x06)

If yall couldn’t tell, I love 1x06. Just look at the gif. The boy has actual tears in his eyes seeing Octavia look out at Earth. I head canon that Bellamy had been planning to take O outside their room their whole growing up and seeing that finally play out brings tears to his eyes. He’s so happy to see his baby sister so happy. I fucking love that. Lemme just ignore the shit storm that comes in a few short scenes. 

Bonus: big brother bellamy is the hottest thing ever thank u
