one thing about tancred is that he's an older brother so he feels like it's his duty to protect his little brother but...he's not exactly good at it. he mostly antagonizes fenix, which makes their relationship very strained but he truly, genuinely, cares for him. he's just...very bad at showing it. he thinks that being an opposed force will make fenix stronger to the rest of life's problems. he doesn't offer help mostly, unless it's something veeery serious, but if someone is fucking with him in a way he doesn't like at all then tancred is paying a visit to this new enemy. generally tho, he tries to not interfere too much.

as head of his own nomad family, tancred is weirdly considered very fair. he listens to other members opinions and views and he never shames them, even if wrong (for his own views). it's funny, he can be such a cruel man but never let it be said that he's unfair
