not hating on it bc it was a fine movie, it was coherent and consistent which is still way better than most mainstream movies released rn lmao, and besides like the casual orientalism that the sci-fi adjacent genre loves doing i can't say there was any bad writing or decisions that stood out to me as a whole, but it felt like pacific rim was doing a lot of things and not really excelling at any of them tbh.
