barrier of ame-no-torifune shrine is also very good, trojan green asteroid is really underrated in terms of music. most of the recent cds have been, but old adam bar doesn't feel as unpopular for some reason? probably because some of the tracks appeared in violet detector while the other cds' tracks haven't been included in any game. sad that people aren't very aware of the hifuus. i should finish reading the cds

What's the most out there ZUN made Touhou song composition? For me personally like half of UFOs ost is pretty strange in a good way

I absolutely agree with that, UFO has a super unique soundtrack. It's one of my favorites for that reason. ZUN likes to shake up how the soundtracks for each game are supposed to make you feel, so every game has at least one song that just kind of feels like nothing before it.

One of my absolute favorites is The Barrier of Ame-no-torifune Shrine from Trojan Green Asteroid, I just reblogged it in case anyone wants to give it a listen. Honestly, Trojan Green Asteroid is just amazing track after amazing track. The Barrier of Ame-no-torifune Shrine really does make it sound like you're at a shrine where something incomprehensible happening.

Game-wise, Desire Drive is incredibly unique to me, it makes me feel something different from any other Touhou song. It's no coincidence this song is also featured in Trojan Green Asteroid (and is way better than the original). The whole album is just like that.
