I'm not 100% happy with this design but fuck it, here's my Batman OC, Nova Armstrong (super villain name pending, but I'm currently going with "The Black Hole") (ze/hir pronouns, prefers masculine terms). Ze can temporarily absorb powers and strength from others, and hir public personality tends to match those around hir (though it's unconfirmed if this is because of hir powers or just an attempt to fit in). In truth, ze's very outgoing yet awkward, often spending lengths at a time talking and being very dramatic but unable to make eye contact or pick up on others' emotions without being explicitly told (yeah ze's autistic I can't not make my characters autistic). Also a bit clingy, ze hates being alone and will try anything to hold onto someone's company.

Nova isn't an independent villain, instead choosing to work as a henchman for hire and bouncing around to whoever needs one. Ze claims to be looking for hir brother, whose whereabouts are unknown after leaving home to become a henchman (part of the problem being that ze can't remember who he was going to join). Eventually, ze does get a tip about hir brother, but when ze returns, ze's a lot more withdrawn and quiet. Ze still matches the personality of those ze's working with, but ze's a lot more subtle about it instead of being a carbon copy of the other. When asked about hir brother, ze simply refuses to acknowledge ever having any family members.

Ze started as a self-insert so I could hang out with the characters I like, but I started turning hir into hir own character. Ze's also partially based on the Rookie from Lego DC Super Villains in terms of the power set. I'm probably gonna be tweaking hir personality as I keep writing hir but this is what I've got so far

Following from my dress sketch design if you haven’t seen it here . They are base from Glorious Masquerade & Playful land events. Basically a sequence I imagine while drawing the dresses XD I also want to mention that when it’s finish 🥺 you can draw it on your oc and even tweak a bit detail to fit your Yuu or OC. It’s meant to be share with everyone, not just my Yuu.

Lately Mal is a bit touchy. Not that he isn’t normally but this is different. Sometimes he holds your wrist while mumbles something while going on a night stroll. Sometimes he stares at you and gets lost in his thoughts. He even stands just in front of you and tries to lift you up once.

You are so confused and a bit embarrassed when he asks about your height so you call for support. The Diasomnia’s family counselor aka. Lilia Vanrouge. You went all the way to Diasomnia dorm without telling anyone and sneak in to see Lilia.

Surprisingly you just witness your dragon boyfriend practicing a dance with a beautiful dress. He hummed ‘that song’ while spinning with the dress. What a beautiful princess gown with dark green silk. It looks so shiny and smooth, something that would delicately touch her skin while being held in that big palm. Imagine how soft that hand craft lace feels when on your chest. He did not spare any piece of jewellery from his procession. He keep bring in dazzling earrings and necklaces to test it with the gown. He would have use the heart of his collection to craft a piece of accessories for you if he doesn’t want to save it for something later in the year. You can see a magical golden thread and needle weaving delicate patterns on the skirt as he continues the dance. Every angle……Every turn………..Malleus is creating a masterpiece. He did it………..for you…….for his princess.

Your face is burning from the love of this dragon fae. Why does he have to put so much effort into it.

Your heart beat so fast until the evening of the event. Malleus play cool by teasing you and being a nice partner who prepare a gift for you.

Boom! You are now in a matching dress. So those Raven feathers on the hip are supposed to match his shoulder then ah………..you are about to take off the veil since it looks like a bride. Before Malleus could turn grumpy…..Sebek yell and lecturing you about how talented Wakasama are! You human dare to question his sense of fashion? Outrageous! Just because he love you doesn’t mean you can ruin his days of afford to perfect this dress

Have you heard of the story of the fairy godmother in Cinderella? Well he won’t just roll out and sing bib bi di bub bi di bo and bang! A nice new dress for you. The old man planned while cuddling you in bed……in sofa…..in the gaming chair(?)

He pretends to be busy with something and hasn't listened to you. Even play dumb and say you look cute in the school uniform. Well it’s not totally a lie since he thinks it’s adorable. Why would he poke on your cheek and nibble your neck while you are in your uniform if it’s not because you are so cute to him.

The truth is, this old bat is as excited as you. He lived through the war time and never got a chance to enjoy a leisure party before. Well it’s just a joint event of 2 schools. It can't compare with how grand the royal ball of the Briar valley held a ball but this is the first time he is going to have his lover join him. He doesn’t have to be alert from enemies. Doesn’t have to command his subordinates to search all the parties involved in this event. Just lay back enjoy the day with you.

He had been trying to recreate that dress in his memories just for you. It was around……..hundred? Two hundred?? Year ago??? He walked past this girl on the street and was stunned by her attire. It’s an elegant dress with black velvet and green emerald. Soft flare neckline covered the black corset. Enough skin to show your radiant but not too much.

Well, He was allowed to give you some hickeys before the day of the ball. It got enough fabric to cover all his naughtiness. Wink*

However he was troubled with the skirt since he only remembered just part of it flowing past him. He argued if it’s short or long skirt. He was going back and forth and even tried to summon multiple dresses to compare them…….Then before the final day. He just uses his sense of style to bring it together. Of cause ! Who do you think he is, if not the cutest boy in NRC ? (Self proclaimed……)

He smiles so proudly with your flushed cheek as he teases you. As you put on a golden belt with a bat and thorn on. This is the perfect dress for you. His baby bat. He should had prepare a ring for this big day but well…….there are plenty time for that

I will be offering two primary options: Flat colored work and rendered work. Both options have backgrounds/scenes available upon request for an extra cost determined by the complexity. Examples such as the collage of characters on the flats section can be requested for a separate estimated price—I’m willing to work with you if you’ve got a fun idea in mind! Please feel free to run an idea by me if you’re unsure if it fits into my comfort zone. I’m still feeling the waters out myself!

The third option I am offering are chibis! These are minimally rendered little guys that are best paired with a prop and some fancy accessories, all included in the price listed! These characters will be delivered as a transparent file and on a plain background, typically grey since that is what I work on, but a different color can be requested before or after the commission is finished. Very simple, graphic backgrounds can be requested as well for free! This would include single-colored, non-detailed floral elements, shapes and patterns, and any symbols that may compliment the character(s).

I don't really have much to contribute to the TWST community besides my writing skills and my editing skills so I figured I'd offer my services!!!

I love making Twst cards of my OC Isabella Haddock and of other peoples Twst OC's like @boopshoops Yuu Shi and Jocia Gains so I'm offering to turn your OC/Yuusona into different rated Twst Gacha Cards for you!!! You can send in an ask with your character and the full details listed below. I'll have examples of Cards and extra request details below the cut.

Please don't hesitate to ask as I have a ton of fun making them and can finish them in less than an hour so request as many cards of your TWST OCs as you want!!! Just make sure you read the details below.

WHAT I NEED TO MAKE YOUR CARD(S): - A full body pose or a pose up to the knees of your oc with a transp. background (if possible) OR -A headshot from the neck up I can paste it over an asset of the students outfits I have (credit to @alchemivich for asset files)

FURTHER DETAILS: Because of my obsession of sticking with Canon, I try to make the cards following their grades, for example if it's a School Uniform I'd default to make it an R card and R's don't have proper artistic backgrounds, only the patterned ones. If you do want to have a card that doesn't follow the grade system (eg. R card with a background, SR PE or School Uniform etc.) PLEASE let me know and emphasize that that's what you want.

R cards and SR cards go to the knees if they stand straight up, otherwise it depends on the pose you draw them in. SSR I'll try to fit the whole body in so keep in mind how you want your OC to look in your card. If you want a pose make sure to draw them in a pose, I'm not a miracle worker or an artist, I'm an inexperienced editor doing this for fun lol.

Hey there !! Just wanted to say first off that I really enjoy your art! I’ve been following your channel for a bit and I do really enjoy your character’s lore and such.

Now for the question bit: what inspires your character designs and what’s your favorite OC that you’ve made?

I'm definitely inspired by lots of other artists, both from the warriors fandom and elsewhere, so it's hard to say any one thing or person that inspires my designs. I loved animated shows and movies growing up (still do lol), and I was DEEP in the warrior cats amvs in the 2010s HAHA, so both of those tend to inspire my designs. I was Enamored by cell shading/coloring when I was a kid, and since I didn't have any art materials that I could use to emulate it, the idea of using that style really stuck with me as I was growing up. When I finally got my hands on a means of doing digital art years later, it was practically the only style I wanted to color and shade with HAHA

One thing that always informs my design-making is the idea of keeping things simple, yet recognizable. I design my characters with the idea of "I'm going to be drawing this guy A Lot for videos" so i like using smaller palettes (usually my characters won't have much more than 3-5 different colors for their entire design; more than that is pretty rare for me haha), and i like to make sure that patterns are easy to 'anchor' (most markings are connected to part of the body; face markings are nearly always connected to/very close to the eyes/nose/ears, flank markings generally connect to the back/spine, etc etc). Character's shapes and body types do a lot of the heavy lifting for differentiating between them! The funny result of this is that my "background" characters tend to be more complex than my "main" characters, since i design them thinking "I'll probably only have to draw you once or twice if you show up in a video" lol

As for a favorite, obviously Mudpaw is My Precious Beloved Baby Boy, but I'm also very fond of Birchspeckle :) and owlpounce. also all the apprentices. and possum and sweetpea. and larkstar and foxjaw. and OKAY ok sorry I just love all of them!!! It's hard to pick a favorite!!

My favorite design-wise, though, might be Embertooth tbh! He's definitely more complex than my designs usually are, so he takes longer to draw/color in, but I really like all the contrast with the ginger and the dark brown and the white!

9. What are your file name conventions

ouhh i name them whatever. song lyrics im currently listening to, character names, actual illustration titles, random messages to myself. nothing funny enough to show im afraid just a bunch of polish and polonisations (apparently i refuse to title scar drawings with anything but skar)

26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended

i dont think i have such piece. its much more common for people not to know the extent of themes/metaphors used in the drawing; not a bad thing by any means, whenever i try to have some more hidden meaning in my art its with oc drawings, and theres often just no way people could guess that not knowing about my ocs as much as i do. Oh and also people love to take my anniversary 3rd life art and interpret it in ways i wouldnt even dream of but theyre all so correct its sad to say i didnt plan that. Like the fact that the border breaks around Grian but allows Scar to leave without tearing is... im so dissapointed i didnt plan that i just drew whatever fitted the vibe. aah

Matka is one of the drawings of mine that come to mind when i think of a drawing that no one but me can possibly get fully and its only because i just dont share everything i have in my brain. Probably because there was a person who actually tried to analise this one as a challenge they had for themselves, and while they werent incorrect, there was a lot they were lacking.

The patterns on the side are meant to resemble both belarusian embroidery (important culturally for both characters, since the story takes place durning the 19th century belarusian cultural revival and they are belarusian, even if to some degree polonised, because 19th century western Belarus) and candle holders (item i associate with Mikita, its the tool that lets him navigate the manor after all, and plays into the ghost idea people have of him); the black and white contrast of a nightgown (Mikitas signature look durning the first part of the story (i like to call it the ghost part, since it mostly deals with Mikita (and also Przemek but this isnt about him) relearning how to be a person after everything that happened to him) It symbolises his need to live in the past, his inability to esentially become human again, he plays into the idea of a ghost as much as he can, even if unnkowingly) and a mourning dress (both in a cultural sense - it was used as a protest against russian occupation durning the january uprising, as well as the general sense - Apolonia is dead and this is the dress she would have worn if she could get a proper funeral. This is an idea of her that Mikita as her son can only imagine). The pose is self explainatory and reveals a lot about their relationship already. The text zwróć że do nas jasne swe matczyne dłonie / okaż swoim dzieciom swą bezdenną litość (turn your pale motherly hands towards us / show your children your neverending mercy ) is actually a lyric from the song Marzanna, which is stylised like a prayer to the slavic goddess of winter of the same name; a comparison way more fitting for Apolonia than Mother Mary. And in the background theres a willow tree, literally called the mourning/crying willow in polish, a very simple symbol of death and mourning.

A while ago I got this idea that it would be neat if Edda post wayward got a pet pigeon, and then this whole thing spawned from that bcs, hey fun opportunity to take a shot at attempting Art Nuevo. I say attempt, because though I did look at the art of Alphonse Mucha for this (I specifically used Zodiac (1896-7) and Feather (1899) as references one I moved to work on my tablet), I didn’t really go all out with the stylistic choices and as a result got something more vaguely Art Nuevo inspired then, you know, Art Nuevo.

I still think I like the result though.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank those who’ve said nice things on my art, since I really appreciate those comments even if I don’t always reply to them, in which case this is a thank you and a I’m sorry.

I saw someone on discord using bots to put their OCs in situations and I wanted to do the same. Here's the pfps I made so far!

just some scribbles. the first one some concept stuff of my rain world ocs!! the iterator is distant glint of lantern light (or glint for short), the scrapper, and her little pup, the hideaway! (i may or may not change that.) this is subject to change, but essentially the story for them goes like, hideaway accidentally gets kidnapped by glint, and scrapper goes into his superstructure to try to find her. glint just kinda goes "oh kitty cat :D" completely oblivious to hideaway's existence and plays around with scrapper. hideaway is scrapper's last kid out of like a litter of, idk, five, so scrapper is pretty desperate to find her

hideaway gets her name because glint has all these pet lizards that are actually pretty friendly to each other, but will absolutely chomp hideaway down given the chance, so she has to be quiet and sneaky to survive as she tries to find a way out back to scrapper.

the second drawing is just me messing around with a new brush, which i also used for the rain world stuff

these are my most favorite pieces, going from (supposedly) oldest to newest !!

the first one is supposed to be an angsty moment between Elvie and Memphis, two characters from analog horror cartoon !!

I never colored this one cause I ended up losing interest after spending 10 hours on just the lineart alone, but I still love it !!

this next one is of my sona Glappy !! i really liked how I did the lineart, and the piece itself was a bit of an experiment with my rendering style, as well as how I wanted to do his fur pattern and markings !! (I need to update him again smfh)

I'm working on this refsheet for my oc Crumpette Sugar-Blossom (I shared her on a doodle-dump once but never actually posted her solo) and I decided to go crazy and draw some ref stuff for her cafe/bakery/eatingplacething too and thought youd think its neat :3

YOU HAVE THE ENTIRE LAYOUT OF THE PLACE AND DESIGNS FOR DISHES AND EVERYTHING OMG........ I am just grinning rn LKFAJSDGRGH

AND THE VERTICAL KITCHEN IS SO FUNNNNNN :D!!!!!! I can just see her flitting about checking the ovens or pulling out a flat board of wood she can use for rolling out dough or as a cutting board!! And she forgot to push it back in so later she bonks her head on it while trying to fly upwards akjsfsd

OK SO in that doodle dump I noticed Crumpette with this really cute slice of chocolate cake and it immediately made me think of cosmic brownies!! I never actually had those growing up but it fits The Vibes and I thought it was cute ouo

She kinda reminds me of those grandma cookie tins that sometimes get used for holding sewing equipment, or this one soup and sandwich place I went to years ago that gives you a chocolate-dipped strawberry with your meal!

As for food ideas!!!

A roll cake with strawberry and flower designs on it like this!

A jelly donut with strawberry filling, dipped with red (strawberry or chocolate flavored?) frosting and white spots to look like a mushroom!!

A heart shaped breakfast sandwich! And the little wrapper thingy over the bottom half that lets you hold it easier is this lime green and white gingham pattern :D

Macarons!! The doodle dump has a little bunny in the background so I imagine them being that shape lol. Ooh or butterfly shaped!!

Cinnamon rolls!!

Some kinda floral tea (maybe butterfly pea since it can change from blue to pink if you add something acidic like lemon juice?) served with buttery crumpets!!

Maybe the crumpets have her face stamped on them, or you drizzle it with honey and put ground up green pistachios through a stencil so it's in the shape of her wings, or something like that ouo

Not a food but this place definitely serves some drinks with silly straws, or you can ask for one instead of a regular straw :D

Strawberry souffle pancakes!

I'm picturing this parfait where the different layers are a pastel pink, yellow, green, and blue? Ooh ice cream parfaits-

Maybe there's a drink that makes it look like you're drinking out of a honeysuckle flower, with the part that sticks out of the flower being the straw?

On that note there are definitely sweet fizzy drinks ouo. Ooh, maybe milkshakes?

Or maybe the ones where there's cotton candy over the glass and you pour something on it to make it dissolve and mix in with the rest of the drink! Like this!!

Not to mention all the possibilities for stuff like boba pearls or fruit jelly at the bottom of a drink, whipped cream on top with lucky charms, stuff like that!

Overview/Potential Questions

What is the goal of this event?

The goal here is to give everyone a reason to draw their Fallen London Characters in fun outfits, and then collect them all together at into a little compilation.

In order to give everyone free reign with how long they wanna work and to work around their own schedules, you can work on and submit a piece anytime!

Who can participate? 

Everyone who wants to should! The only requirement is that you have a character (or multiple) who you want to dress up!

How do I participate?

To submit you can simply post it and tag this blog and I will reblog it here, or otherwise you can use tumblrs submit feature!

The goal is to collect everything together at a certain point, in create our own sort of fashion magazine.

How many times can I submit a piece?

As much as you want! The skies the limit- or well. The roof is. 

What content is accepted?

Not intending to be too picky here! So long as it fits around the theme of Fallen London characters in outfits, it will be accepted.

Whilst the aim here is to fit along the lines of a fashion catalogue or a paper doll format, there’s no pressure to fit any format exactly. This is just for fun!

Do we have to be entirely historically accurate?

There’s no such thing as complete historical accuracy, just taking educated looks back into what the past was most like. 

All that is to say: don’t sweat it. Whilst we do have an overall goal of fitting with the fashion of the time, and being inspired by historical items, I don’t want people worrying over being 100% historically accurate. Treachery of clocks and the devils and all that. Feel free to have fun with it. 

And don’t feel like you have to stick specifically to English fashion either. There are plenty of other fashions of the time period. If you and/or your character have a different background, please feel free to take inspiration for those historical clothes too! People in the neath come from many different backgrounds. 

Do I have to draw an OC (original character)?

Whilst this event is intended to focus on people’s own original fallen london characters, if you truly dont have one you want to dress up, canon npcs are accepted as well! 

Is there any content that is not allowed?

Everything created must be of your own work. Referencing and inspiration is 100% fine as always, but don’t like, upload someone else’s drawings directly. No computer generated/’”a.i” content will be accepted. 

Eyestrain. Please take caution towards anything falling too heavily into the ‘eyestrain’ category. Whilst Victorian fashion was often super brightly coloured and that is accepted, pay mind to avoid anything with psychedelic color pallets, loud patterns, etc. This rule is here to make the event inclusive of those with disabilities triggered by eyestrain content. 

If you’re uncertain if something will be accepted, feel free to just ask! I don’t bite, promise.
