More on Utahime's potential in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc
WARNING: DELULU IDEAS + MANGA SPOILERS
So, GOJO HAS RISEN đ„ł (potentially). We'll see in the next chapter or so đ„. There are several ways this could've happened. In this post, however, I will mostly focus on Utahime.
(My reaction to chapter 260 at end of post)
Chapter 259 once again showcased flashbacks of the other characters strategizing against Sukuna, except for Gojo, Utahime, Gakuganji & Ijichi. At this point, one's inclined to believe that team was up to something during the time-skip. It's getting too obvious now.
In this post, I talked about Utahime's potential role in Gojo's revival and/or maybe have another equally important role in this arc.
While some ideas still stand, I thought of some others.
âą One of my delulu theories was that Utahime & team could summon Sukuna with his 20th finger to a new vessel (maybe back to Yuuji) or maybe do something else with it, & I just got the idea that what if it's with Nobara's help? With Todo's return & the strange imagery in that recent MV for the opening of the Phantom Parade mobile game, "Avant" by Eve, which potentially foreshadows Gojo's return, & even shows Nobara's Straw Doll CT, Sukuna's new domain, etc., could it be Nobara will return as well? Could she use her Resonance on Sukuna's 20th finger, as it was revealed in 259 that Yuuji's & Sukuna's souls are still connected? (As of right now, it's possible Yuuta may be storing the finger inside Rika, so I wonder about the retrieval of it...)
Another possibility is what if they were doing something with the Prism Realm? That MV showed a bunch of those boxes with creepy eyes, like Sukuna's... What if Gojo's "special training" that he mentioned in 223 had to do with that? Like, maybe his team found a way to train in the box, as time flies differently? Or they were figuring out a way to seal Sukuna? In that same MV, we see paper seals on the boxes, so what if Utahime, as a shrine maiden, made them? Is it possible the team found or created more than one Prism, or something similar?
One thing that worries me is that the only ones who know about Yaga's secret CT are Gakuganji & Gojo. It hasn't been brought up again so... Were they planning something with that? Related to Gojo or maybe Nobara? I don't like the implications, though...
Because of that lingering connection between Sukuna & Yuuji, it seems like Sukuna was able to be a step ahead of everyone due to seeing/sensing all the sorcerers' plans that Yuuji had been a part of during the time-skip. Now, we know that Todo had kept his comeback secret from Yuuji so as not to alert Sukuna. Which could mean...that Utahime's CT was also kept a secret from Yuuji.
Sukuna still doesn't know about it. We know that Yuuji never knew about it while harboring Sukuna, & it seems that this was kept from him even during the time-skip? So, it means that he had no idea what Gojo was planning for his initial attack nor what else he was potentially doing during the time-skip.
Was this Gojo's idea? Did he just want to show off their 200% Hollow Purple? Is it because Utahime is a trump card? And/or is it to protect Utahime? (oof, Gojo, if that's so, we see u~ đ)
To add to this, we got some recent content that makes me wonder if something regarding Utahime's character may actually happen. This is all mere wishful thinking speculation, of course.
âą In the upcoming JJK exhibition (summer 2024), Gege is releasing some rough drafts from the manga & will apparently elaborate on his creative process when making them. One of them is the "You cryin'?" scene from chapter 65.
Out of all his rough drafts, he chose this one as one of the main ones for promo... đ
In the original text here, Gojo said, "You're weak, so don't go on business trips too often." /OR "You're weak, so don't push yourself too hard."
(translation varies. Here, here, & here for further context)
The text seems to imply that Gojo didn't want Utahime to go so far away for missions (she was 3 hours away by train from Tokyo), or that she shouldn't take on such dangerous missions. Is it because he wouldn't be able to get to her sooner if she needed help, since at the time, he couldn't teleport yet? đ
Gege changed it to "I came to save you" in the official release. Why, though? We could still tell Gojo was worried for Utahime due to him leaving the supervisor & his teammates behind to go save her from the mansion, forgetting to put up the curtain, & using Blue (which at the time, was exhausting to use) while managing to leave her unscathed. Did Gege think Gojo's concern for Utahime would be too obvious with the original text, though? đ
âą The characters got some updates on their profiles for the upcoming 4th character popularity poll. However, while most of the others got some slight changes, Utahime's only reiterates that she's a very good singer.

Even this article finds the brief description strange.
Why did Gege bring this up again? Why not simply say she's a very good dancer instead, as we now know? He had said in the 2021 fanbook that her singing is a huge part of her CT, but we have yet to see it in action (unless the chanting for her 120% counted?). Some people had already lost hope that we'd get it, so is he implying that it's still something to look forward to? That her VA, Yoko Hikasa's singing talent, won't actually go to waste in the future? That Utahime still has a role to play? đ
âą On April 2, in order to commemorate Vol. 26 of the manga (containing infamous chapter 236), Shounen Jump uploaded a lofi video to their official YouTube channel in which we see edited versions of Gojo's memories. These mysterious edits have made people theorize that Gojo's memories have become a distorted mess in his brain, which is implied to be damaged in his (potentially) current state between life & death.
Utahime & Shoko appear with Gojo in one of the images.
Both girls have been theorized to help bring back Gojo. Utahime seems to be the focal point here, however, while Shoko is more in the background. Her appearance is that of her & Gojo's phone call scene, which had lasted 3min 41s in the anime (341, guys). Why is Utahime more prominent to him here, instead of his former teammate & closest friend?
(Full delulu) Could this be foreshadowing that Utahime will be the one to call Gojo back from the airport? That she will use her singing to reach him? Lure him like a siren or something? Or, like I said before in my aforementioned delulu post, does her singing have healing abilities?
Got the idea from this post that in the edit, it's like Gojo's heading (north) towards the girls, & since Utahime is at the center (of Gojo's distorted memory, mind u đ), could it be implying she really will be the key to help guide him back? While Shoko is busy healing him?
AND SO...onto chapter 260:

Right now, the Binding Vow theory seems the most popular, & while I don't like it, it's still possible. However, would this discredit the theory that Shoko healed him? And/or that Utahime buffed her? Maybe not. Shoko did say in 258 that the efficacy of her RCT can depend on the person's body/CE being healed. So, would Gojo have had to give up something, like his right eye, in order for Shoko's RCT to work, in case his CE was rejecting hers? đ€đ
Gege will explain what's going on in the next chapters. As Gojo's return does seem rather sudden & random, it's possible it may not be official YET, but it doesn't mean it won't happen. So if this is a fluke, I do believe Gojo will return at a crucial moment.
Whether it was/will be thru a BV or with outside help, we will see. Either way, this also means that Utahime is coming back!! We'll finally see her again!! Where there is Gojo, there is Utahime. WE'RE GETTING THAT FLASHBACK, TRUST. Incredible how Gege timed this so closely with last year's chapter 222 in May, in which Gojo gets unsealed, & then in 223, Utahime reappears after a long absence WITH him. WILL GEGE DO THIS AGAIN? OH, MAN-
Ok, I know I'm fully delulu & Gege may go against all our expectations in the next chapter or so, so I'll try to keep them low. We'll see... He's not off the hook yet... đđ«

Is the avant mv really predicting the jjk ending? - an analysis
There's no way to be sure, but on the other hand, it sure is racking up to be a lot of strange coincidences if not. People have made several observations that the MV seemed to have foreshadowed Nobara's return all along, while others have made other theories on how the MV may be telling us of the return of the glorious blue-eyed king.
Putting the stuff about our blue-eyed king aside (we'll return to it), the MV was scarily accurate about Nobara's return.
But one thing that I noticed from the latest chapter is that the MV may have also showed us Sukuna's defeat months ago.
References from the MV -> chapter 268:
In a brief panel of the MV, there is a blob that looks similar enough to the Sukuna blob we saw this chapter. The blob is coughing up black ink/blood? as if it were punched, almost like Sukuna taking damage from Yuji's black flash.
Sequence in the MV:
Also, at the start of the sequence, there appears a pair of hands holding on to the blob, just like Yuji holding Sukuna with both hands as Sukuna faded away.
Now, if this convinces you snippets of jjk's ending have been hidden in this MV, it gets interesting regarding what else this MV might be foretelling. Interpreting an MV is a subjective art, but users on twitter have pointed out another sequence in the MV in which a portrait with two eyes (that have clouds floating in them) becomes blotted with ink over one of the eye.
This connects to the suspicious amount of official content with Gojo that only has one eye opened. Why do you keep drawing him with only one eye, Gege?
In the end, what does it mean for Gojo? No idea. Some people are saying he's coming back with a binding vow that requires him to give up an eye/Six Eyes. You can probably find the theories on twitter. What would be the purpose of him coming back at the end of the story? Who knows.
â but the picture is there, and depending on whether you're convinced or not, the MV seems to have referenced the jjk ending in it, so it might be worth it to check it out to see if we can figure out more about the ending before it's ending in 3 chapters anyways.
As an aside, this post is just talking about whether we can rely on the MV to predict the ending; the MV itself has other panels that refer to canon events in the manga. It's pretty cool - check it out on Youtube if you have the time.

Part II : The Room Where The King Dresses(Part 2 A : architecture and overdoor paintings)
2.1 The Architecture of the room
In the end Mansart settled for composite pilasters pilasters for the central salon(fig11),and Corinthian ones for the attic, as a way of remaining consistent with the spirit of the Grand Gallery. The style of the western wall with its three archways giving access to the Gallery was mirrored on the eastern(the one on the cour de marbre side), which unlike its western counterpart is still visible to this very day(fig12).Â

While planned as a common room linking the Gallery to both the King and Queen apartment, the premature death of the Queen in 1683(before the completion of the construction), meant that from the very beginning its status would change. Indeed, upon reentering Versailles and rediscovering the palace with its brand-new Gallery, and new rooms, the King decided to annex to his apartment the rooms with view on the Cour de marble, which were originally destined to be part of the apartment of his defunct spouse. He chose the room next door as his new bedchamber(fig13), which soon became too narrow for the increasing number of courtesans attending the morning dress up ceremony. The central salon therefore became the room in which the King is dressed.
At that point there was no plan to turn the salon into a bedchamber, despite its central position behind the Cour de Marbre Avant corps, there was no room left to create an alcove, indeed the western wall had three archways linking it to the Gallery, similar to the eastern wall but with 3 windows instead and, the northern and southern walls on the other hand had two doors each as part of the enfilade.

2.2 The paintings
The list of the paintings present in the room is given by various contemporary authors[7], as well as Painting inventories[8]. The layout of said painting partly known thanks to several elevations and blueprints[9], with 9 attic paintings with three frames on each of the attic walls except the eastern one, four paintings in the frames at the center of each of the four overdoors, and two large paintings at the center of the northern and southern wall respectively. Piganiol de la Force in his 1701 edition of the Nouvelle descriptions des Chasteaux de Versailles et de Marly provides lists the following paintings[10]:

The portrait the marquis of Ayton by Van Dyck(fig14), depicting Francisco de Moncada y Moncada, a Spanish general and diplomat, it was purchased from the Jabach collection by King Louis XIV in 1671[11]. The portrait in question is a reduction based on a larger equestrian portrait by same artist dated from 1634[12] (fig 15). Piganiol paces it right in from of the Van Dyke self portrait.

Portrait of Van Dyck by himself(fig 16), painted around 1630, it was acquired by King Louis XIV from the Jabach collection in 1671[13].Pignatol places the portrait above the door at the entrance of the appartement which at that time would have meant the northern wall on the enfilade side, which puts the marquis of Ayton portrait above the door on the southern wall just in front.

Saint Magdalene by Domenichino(fig 17), the origins of this painting arenât that well known. A similar painting superior in quality exists at the Pitti Palace(fig 18). Pignatol places the painting above one of the fake doors.

Saint John the Baptist

Saint John the Baptist attributed to Battistello(fig 19); it was acquired from the Jabach collections by King Louis XIV in 1662[14]. Pignatol attributes the painting to Caravaggio, that attribution changed to Valentin and later to Battistello[15]. Pignatol locates right in front of the Saint Magdalene painting above one of the fake doors.

this whole time i've been like 'haha very funny, (almost) no one here knows who Mike Patton is' and....you could just...look him up...but you know what? here, have a "summary" (lol it's long) of Mike motherfucking Patton and his career:
Mike is an aquarius, fire goat, grew up in Eureka, a small city on the northern california coast
he never intended to be a musician, but loves diverse music/soundscapes, is a curious person, worked in a record store, has perfect pitch and a bonkers vocal range and had close childhood friends (Trevor Dunn and Trey Spruance) who WERE studying music, they formed a band that would be called Mr. Bungle in their teens (fans tend to ship Trevor and Mike, and if you look at footage of them...you'll know why)
a demo tape of Mr. Bungle landed in the hands of Jim Martin, the guitarist for Faith No More...at the time they had fired their original singer and were looking for a replacement. The funny thing is, the demo was pretty hard thrash/death metal and FNM is....not that...but anyway, Mike was recruited to FNM, ostensibly for his singing ability, but he also was the profile of young, fit, long-haired, and hot as all get out. (fans tend to ship Mike and Roddy, and if you hear them banter on stage....you'll know why...and shoutout to Roddy for being an out gay man in metal in the early 90s...take that bja)
somehow, Mike finagled getting Mr. Bungle signed to the Warner Bros label when he signed onto FNM, so Bungle had a budget and exposure...and very little oversight...hence the MV for Quote Unquote/Travolta
The big Faith No More hit is Epic and that song catapulted them into a two year tour, during which Mike became known for being a fucking maniac (mostly shirtless) on/off stage....there's lots of true stories, and LOTS of untrue stories, no one, probably not even Mike knows exactly which is which. Two things are relevant: teen Mike started out straight edge, and during this tour he also gained a reputation for hating on groupie-and-party-focused rock stars. But his looks and his chaotic gremlin energy landed him this "reluctant pinup boy" persona.
Meanwhile Mike was also fully with Mr. Bungle, touring in his 'off time' from FNM, and at their shows everyone was completely unhinged.
HERE'S THE CRUX: after the success of Epic and the album it's from, The Real Thing, Faith No More were expected to have another massive hit with the next album....and they didn't. BUT they produced an album that to this day is beloved by fans even more that their first album, and Mike's stage persona continued to develop in this way that is mysterious, mesmerizing, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes grotesque, sometimes just raw sexual/homoerotic/electrically-passionate energy. They're big abroad, but not as much in the US.
Through the rest of the 90s you see Mike with FNM and Bungle, but you also see him produce a baffling feat of a solo album, starting to experiment with his own band FantĂŽmas, collaborating with avant garde musicians/artists, most notably John Zorn.
Faith No More disbands in 1998, but Mike continues with Bungle, and for many fans, his work with Mr. Bungle is considered paramount...FNM is fun, but Bungle is FUN, WEIRD, dangerous but not in a scary way, none of their four albums sound anything like each other. Their "pop" album is....not pop.
Mr. Bungle disbands officially in 2004 (both FNM and Bungle reunite later on), Mike continues to collaborate with musicians, form new bands (including my fave Tomahawk), make better and more impactful solo projects and generally work at a pace that seems the definition of workaholic....producing music that is both eclectic and instantly recognizable, but seldom (never?) hit material. (Since it's not the 90s, I won't describe in detail...but it truly is well worth looking up)
as a little extra, and as was referred to by lurkerwithabike, Mike suffered a certainly covid-times-influenced breakdown and dealt with alcoholism around 2021/2022. For someone who has kept his personal life and struggles cloaked in apocryphal stories and sarcasm, when Mike opened up about what he was dealing with at the time, for many of us it just solidified this deep, deep love for our little weirdo. Oh, and also, the entire time he's a fucking hottie and he hates it.
SO, from my perspective at least - that's why you get such fervor over some guy you've never heard of

Quand je suis arrivĂ©e Ă la maison vers 19h, jâai vu quâil y avait une voiture en plus de celle de mon homme.
A peine la porte ouverte, jâai vu mon homme en train de boire lâapĂ©ro avec un autre homme. Tous les deux Ă©taient nus.
Jâai appris en fin de soirĂ©e quâil sâagissait dâun nouveau collĂšgue de mon homme. Il Ă©tait dâorigine de PoindimiĂ©.
Mon homme sait que jâai un faible pour les hommes de couleurs. Les kanaks peuvent ĂȘtre trĂšs bien bĂątis.

Mon homme avait lu dans mes pensées.
Je suis passĂ©e dâune queue Ă lâautre en 2 secondes. Philippe mâayant laissĂ© sa queue et mon homme ayant entrepris de faire comme le faisait Philippe avant.
Mon homme adore se branler en me regardant.
La queue de Philippe Ă©tait grosse et longue. Je me suis mise debout pour rapidement enlever ma culotte et me suis rapidement assise sur lui face Ă lui.
Je lâai pris de suite tout en entier. Tout au fond.
Pendant que je commençais à faire de lents vas et viens, Philippe ouvra mon chemisier et commença à me sucer les seins qui pointaient.
A un moment, jâai senti mon homme derriĂšre moi, relevant ma robe et il a commencĂ© Ă me lĂ©cher le cul.
Je sentais bien quâil devait lĂ©cher la queue de Philippe en mĂȘme temps quâil passait des coups de langue entre mes fesses.
Connaissant mon homme, je savais bien aussi ce quâil avait envie. Je me suis suffisamment relevĂ©e pour que la queue de Philippe sorte de ma chatte.
Mon homme lâa tout de suite prise en bouche avant de me la reprĂ©sentĂ©e Ă mon minou.
Jâai senti la queue de mon homme se prĂ©senter Ă mon petit trou. Je lâattendais.
Il est entré dans mon cul doucement puis a commencé des vas et viens.
JâĂ©tais prise de partout. Jâadore ça.
Philippe était toujours occupé avec mes seins.
A un moment il mâa regardĂ© dans les yeux et je lâai senti dĂ©charger au fond de moi.
Lorsque mon homme a compris, il a accéléré ses vas et viens entre mes fesses et a éclaté également.
Philippe nous a remercié et est parti.
Jâadore quand mon homme mâorganise des surprises !

Traduction française de Fear & Hunger 2 - Termina - #4
La ch'tite update du mois. Traduction faite durant ce mois :
La fin de la Cabine de train, comprenant : les dialogues de hub d'O'saa, Marcoh, Olivia, Marina et Levi, les interrogatoires, les discussions de groupe, et Samarie qui balbutie.
L'extérieur de la maison du bûcheron.
Une partie de la Vieille ville de Prehevil, comprenant le centre avec le crucifix. Ăa comprend le dialogue du mendiant (dĂšs le soir du premier jour) et la scĂšne de la crucifixion.
Ce mois-ci, j'ai pas Ă©normĂ©ment de chose Ă dire, mise Ă part que je tombe toujours sur les mĂȘmes problĂšmes techniques, et qu'il me faut RPG Maker MV pour les corriger.
Je rĂ©flĂ©chie aussi au niveau de langage parlĂ© par les personnages, s'ils tutoient ou vouvoient. Il me manque mon doctorat en anglais pour savoir d'un coup dâĆil, mais voilĂ ce que j'ai dĂ©terminĂ© :
La narrateur vouvoie le joueur, et le joueur vouvoie tous les personnages, sauf durant les interrogatoires et selon certains personnage qu'on incarne (ex : la Marina incarnée par le joueur va tutoyer Samarie dans ses dialogues exclusifs).
O'saa vouvoie, et parle un langage plutĂŽt soutenu.
Nas'hrah tutoie, par contre, parce qu'il ne te respecte pas.
Daan vouvoie, mais reste dans le langage courant.
Tanaka vouvoie, et parle lui aussi dans un langage plutĂŽt soutenu.
Les gamins (Marina, Olivia, Samarie et Levi) tutoient tous. Marina a l'air d'avoir un parlé trÚs courant, à la limite du populaire. Pas au point de dire qu'elle a les cramptés, par contre. Idem pour Olivia, quoique un peu plus polie.
Karin tutoie, mais c'est parce qu'elle est malpolie.
Et le reste des candidats (Abella, Henryk, Caligura, Marcoh) tutoient eux aussi.
Ces décisions ne sont pas définitives, j'ai le temps de relire et de repenser le texte avant de prendre une décision. 1) Cabine du train (suite)
Pas grand chose à dire de ce cÎté là , la majorité des dialogues se répétaient avec ceux de l'extérieur du train, et se répéteront d'ailleurs encore à PRHL BOP (comme par exemple Olivia qui est botaniste, tu sais, et elle a une affliction, tu sais). Par contre, j'ai pas été capable de trigger les autres interrogatoires, uniquement celle d'Abella. J'avait beau avoir uniquemnt Karin dans le train, je n'ai jamais pu voir la scÚne, donc pas pu vérifier si c'était ok ou non...
2) Maison du bûcheron (Extérieur)
Lors de sa fameuse catchphrase, la seule traduction la plus proche de "Upon us", dans le contexte, est "imminent" :
Les autres traductions possibles auraient été "Termina est sur nous" (trop traduction littéral) ou "Termina est à notre porte" (étrange dans le contexte).
3) Vieille ville de Prehevil - Place du crucifix
Ă l'heure oĂč j'Ă©cris ça, j'ai pas tout Ă fait fini de traduire cette partie. Idem, rien de particulier Ă remonter pour le moment.
