and the met gala! honestly they looked fantastic because they’re them and they’re gorgeous even in trash bags. lee know, love of my life, i cannot continue gatekeeping you </3 the looks were okay but underwhelming. i absolutely love fashion and met gala (even if i have my beef with it) really shows some designer’s creative sides. tommy hilfiger really failed the theme imo (as well as many other designers). i think felix was most on theme. he looked like a fairy. my most toxic trait is thinking i could’ve designed better outfits for them😪

and the paparazzi😡😡😡😡 i swear im so pissed at that. those comments were so out of line. i feel so bad for all of them, but especially chan & felix, as native english speakers who register the negative connotations faster. i’m so sad that we can’t have nice things here :(( it really sucks bc i want them to actually like coming to the us </3

but other than that, im so proud of them for literally making history at the met gala. i hope that if they go next year their outfits will be better and the atmosphere too.

Agreeeeed about their outfits! Apparently Tommy Hilfiger was the most talked about designer of the night (thanks to skz of course) so it’s unfortunate the outfits were a little underwhelming but they still looked fucking fantastic. I will NEVERRRR GET OVER FELIX….. he straight up looks like Legolas was pulled from lotr and put on the red carpet. The little braids in his hair too !!!!! But the moment he saw your beautiful self appear from Ramshackle’s doorway, dressed in colorful traditional clothing that put the delicate sunrise and sunset to shame with your radiance, he knew he was done for. You stepped out of your dorm, clothes swaying with every graceful movement, as you looked up at him with an innocent shimmer gleaming in your eyes. Each color and fabric complimented your silk-like skin, your hair was adorned with brilliant accessories that fit like a crown for royalty, all while your cheeks glowed a precious rosy tint under NRC’s many lamp posts. 

You were beautiful.

“Uh, Jack,” Grim’s raspy voice interrupted the young man’s gawking. “Your tail’s wagging.”

“No, it’s not.”

“Yes, it is.”

“No, it is not.”

“Yes! It is— Okay, y’know what I give up,” the drained feline sighed, clearly growing tired of the beastman’s thick skull. If Jack wanted to be so stubborn, then so be it. Grim was only there to watch you and the Savanaclaw first year go off on your totally “not-a-date” date, and he couldn’t care less on whether or not Jack was finally honest with his own heart. It was Jack’s problem to deal with, and your problem to figure out. 

Jack swore he didn’t feel his heart leap miles and miles at the sound of you calling out his name, melodic and harmonious, among the bustling crowd of people flooding the festival’s moonlit streets. Beckoning him over to a new food stand, you excitedly held out a plateful of taiyaki—sweet, fish-shaped buns—for him, with one adorably hanging out of your mouth as you bit into the toasty treat. Fluorescent lanterns hung like clusters of stars above your heads as you both stood in each other's company, basking in the dreamy atmosphere the festival had created. Every laugh, grin, chuckle, and giggle of yours made the young wolf-man feel as if he was reborn into the world as your very existence filled him with life. Life that hugged and embraced the man in your gentleness. It was… a nice feeling, he supposed. But don’t read into it too much, okay? He just liked the feeling of being around you… Yes! That's right.

The feeling. That was it. 

Jack was sure he didn’t feel a twinge of jealousy course through his veins the instant he witnessed a group of rather charming boys approach you. He knew they had been following behind the two of you throughout your time at the various food stalls. The boy was a wolf, remember? His keen senses would never let him down. However, he didn’t expect the group of boys to actually grow enough courage to talk to you the second he left to go buy a cup of shaved ice for you both. Jack, breathing in and out, attempted to remain calm, relaxed, and unbothered by this situation. He was okay, the world was okay, and you were simply making new friends at this festival. Nothing to worry about. 

But all of his composure dissipated into thin air as he watched one of the handsome strangers step a tad bit too close to your body and rested his lazy arms against your shoulders. 

Oh dear. 

“Excuse me, but,” Jack sternly called out as he stepped between you and the group of boys in front of you, "(Y/n) and I have to go, uh, meet up with some friends right now.”

You peered up from behind the first year’s back, confused at his previous statement. “Jack? What do you mean? Are there other NRC students here?”

Ignoring your questioning gazes, Jack briskly took initiative as he grasped your shoulders and escorted you away from the gaping eyes of the boys you had just met, shielding you with his broad figure like a protective barricade against those who were romantically interested in you. "Forgive me for being envious, but I must be selfish for just this once," Jack mumbled while he kindly guided you to a more secluded area—one where he could properly speak to you with less crowds drowning out his voice. 

No, stop— What in Twisted Wonderland was he saying?

“I know we’re not… anything particularly special,” he began as he twiddled with the cuffs of his sleeves, “nor do I have the right to pull you away from those who take an interest in you, but—”

Jack, if you know what’s good for you, stop right now! Jack voiced to himself. I don’t like (Y/n) in that way… right?

Although his actions proved his thoughts wrong as he slowly reached for your hand and cradled it in his own, eyes glued to the dark pavement of the streets as he avoided any sort of eye contact with you. 

“Would it be too much… to ask for you to stay?”

You sighed, blinking back up to Jack’s evading stares. “Jack, if you were feeling jealous of those boys, you could have just told me!” you giggled, leaving the beastman stunned at your ability to read between his words so well.

if a vinyl wasn't enough he even included a set of photograph records for you to listen to, of which are usually classics. most of it fit the briar valley vibe, slow and elegant.

but it did get you in the mood.

you blink as a lovely tune echoes around your walls. it feels like ramshackle is a little less abandoned, excluding the fact that silver was sleeping soundly in your couch that you doubt was comfortable.

through blurry eyesight he pins his gaze on someone dancing in front of him. the movements were a little clumsy, perhaps they were out of practice or a first timer. silver though, lilia made sure to teach him ballroom etiquette even if he probably wasn't gonna get exposed to that kind of atmosphere himself.

he can't see them clearly but he can tell that their character seems very warm.

you tilt your head. "silver? sorry. I must've awoken you." you apologize through a small whisper, probably keeping mind of staying quiet for his sake.

he shakes his head. "kind of. I've only ever watched people dance."

you smile and extend a hand.

contrary to expectations, silver is really good at dancing. he was a little stiff and unsure at first but he knows how usual dances like these go and he eases up the more the time passes.

you don't know if he was lying that he wasn't that good at dancing or it's like a natural instinct of him to just be good.

silver is slower than most dancers but his movements carry a twinge of elegance rather than sloppiness. for a man who looks stern on the outside he certainly has a way of handling you gently.

whenever you misstep or fall behind in general silver never comments on it. with practice you'll make perfect and it feels like he's trying to imply that he can dance with you whenever you want to get better at it.

oh well. most of the time he never really strayed his gaze, you're absolutely sure he just looked at you the whole time you guys were just swaying in the middle of the living room.

silver liked it cause it kept him awake and it felt oddly intimate.

maybe he was face down on a surface. which made you think he was asleep, as in after everyone left you just look outside to the sky and clasp your hands together in a silent omen.

"whoever god is out there.. please let us stay together for eternity.. if not then a long time." you murmur silently and suddenly the sleep in silver is promptly kicked away.

he's definitely wide awake now but you probably didn't notice as you continue to silently stare outside. silver wishes nothing more to just turn to you and cuddle next to you out of joy but he supposes he deserves a moment to take it in.

god forbid if lilia ever found out about the thoughts he's having.. he knows the boys will be going on about wedding bells and frankly? silver isn't confident that he can protect you from everything else yet.

first he must!!! not fall asleep suddenly!!! what if danger comes and he just passes out?

all worries aside he's just spacing out staring into the wall he deemed very interesting in hopes of settling the warmth in his heart.

silver usually doesn't like falling asleep at all but he can't help it.

it's almost like he's been cursed or something haha..

the sleep just stays in his bones till it succeeds to make him fall asleep, and only does he feel better when he does rest. it's like staying awake for a whole day and you're unable to resist the sleep when you're laying on a bed.

silver has grown to like sleeping whenever you're around cause the sleep is a 100% better. sometimes he falls asleep outside in the dead of the night after patrolling the dorm and he feels really cold afterwards. lilia finds him usually but he doesn't always.

but with you he always feel warm before and after he wakes up.

with winter practically hitting the school by storm it's much more colder, the only times to feel warm is when you're in front of a fireplace.

the odd thing in the fireplace in your dorm though? was the fact that there was a literal fort of pillows in it.. you even tied a blanket to make a makeshift roof, the rest? all comfortable pillows that anyone would feel like royalty laying in it.

you say something about 'if I ever become royalty my room is gonna look like this'

silver merely dons a soft look when you invite him inside and he gratefully accepts. he's already feeling sleepy by the sight and he's not even laying down yet!

you pat down the spot next to you and silver doesn't object as he immediately falls down next to you.

he definitely didn't mean to just go down like that it's like his body is failing him 😿

"feeling sleepy?" you hum. wrapping your arms around whatever you can reach in silver.

the fort worked like a charm. it was incredibly warm. you can barely feel the cold and with silver's habit to slumber you totally understand his strange behavior.

silver, in a daze. nods silently. you can tell he's attempting to fight back the sleep with the eyelids that are blinking rapidly. "no.. yes..."

you chuckle. so cute!

"just sleep. that's why I made this you know. for you."

silver dreamt of you that night and he almost forgot that it was winter.

if you already didn't know he LOVES the fort! at some point got disappointed when you took it down but never spoke against you.

in slow dancing I was originally gonna write the slow dancing scene in a scenario format, which I was gonna imply that silver thinks it's a dream. (actually there was already implications in the finished work that he thinks it's a dream but I changed my mind yet kept it there) therefore 'i know you, I met you once upon a dream' was gonna be a quote used once the initial drowsiness wears off him and he realizes he's dancing with you

yes we got awkward because for some reason, he stopped hanging out with us. from what i remember, that lasted for maybe more than a month! but when he came back and tried hard to fix his relationship with us and everything went back to ‘normal’, he ignored me. of course i was confused and a bit hurt, so i stopped talking to him either. i kinda felt sorry for the others because of the awkward energy we might bring, but they were such angels and tried hard to keep a lighter atmosphere.

also, i don’t think he does it maliciously. my guess is that he just knows it’ll be super awkward if he does. i really don’t know tho 🤧 and yes my dear jaemin is STRUGGLING, bet he wouldn’t hurt me like someone did 🙃

and yes, he’s in a local college, and his and my parents are actually planning to send me there too! 😒 i don’t know how to feel about that… but asking him out for a little hang👩‍🦯 that’s scary, i don’t have experience 😮‍💨 i might, if i build up enough courage! maybe… i’ll get there and definitely do that, cause like you said, it’ll give me closure 🤍 i’m sure i’ll move on if it doesn’t end nicely, i don’t know if i know what i’m saying but i think i’ll be able to handle it !

Darkiplier x GN!Reader

Warnings: None that I can think of, just domestic fluff with a sprinkling of angst :)

Summary: Dark is feelin sappy and sentimental (with a sprinkling of heartache, for taste)

AN: I’m obsessed with the concept of freckles and moles being the places where past soulmates loved to kiss you the most, so I took that and ran with it -- I hope you enjoy!

It is a quiet Saturday evening.  You have been able to keep Dark away from any extra work successfully, using your sweet kisses and loving promises.  After spending the day in each other’s quiet company, away from the chaos of the other egos, you’ve found yourself laying across the couch with your legs across Dark’s lap.  His gentle caresses along your calf and knee never fail to spark a few butterflies in your stomach.  He had set up the record player to play a variety of moony love songs—as much as he tries to conceal his inner romantic, it makes you so giddy.

You have a book in hand, one that you’ve been trying to make time to read for ages, and Dark simply sits with closed eyes in quiet contemplation.  You can’t recall the last time you had seen him quite this relaxed. His features are soft, angelic even, and occasionally he quietly hums along to whatever song is playing, his deep bass rattling your bones ever so slightly.  It is in this meditative study of your lover that you notice a single freckle, right to the side of his chin.  You can’t help but recall a video you had seen in passing on the internet.

“Hey, Dark?” you ask, careful to keep your volume low.  There is honestly a good chance he has fallen asleep—he could be such an old man sometimes.

You hear a gentle Hm?  His eyes open slightly to look at you, bleary but full of affection.

“Did you know that, apparently, some people think that prominent moles and freckles are the spots where your soulmate in a past life kissed you the most?”

He smiles gently, “That’s fascinating, darling.  May I ask what prompted such an observation?”

You set your book to the side, readjusting so that you’re sitting next to Dark, halfway in his lap.

“I can see that your soulmate in a past life loved to kiss you right—” you place a gentle kiss, “—here.”

It takes everything in Dark to maintain his composure as he is overcome with visions of the past.  He remembers the way that you would kiss him—no, not him but Damien—in that exact spot every time he passed an exam with flying colors.  He remembers noticing the handful of freckles across his chest or the mole on his shoulder, but now realizes that those were never there on Damien’s body. They were, however, placed in almost the same exact spot you would litter kisses whenever Damien would let you be in control for the night.  An almost foreign heat rises to his cheeks, but then he sees you.  He notices the small spot under your jaw where he—Damien—would kiss you to tease and fluster you.  He sees the place on your forehead where Damien would always place a gentle kiss to calm and comfort you.  But Dark can see you now, your brow furrowed in concern.  He forces himself back to the present, placing a kiss on your forehead and pulling you into his arms.  

You’re caught a little off-guard, but you reciprocate immediately.  You’ve seen that look in his eyes before, mostly here and there when you first met.  It was a sort of deep sadness, as if he knew something you didn’t.  You’d always wanted to voice your concerns, console him if needed, but you had been so shy then.

“Is everything okay, Dark?” you ask, timidly, not wanting to upset him further.

He squeezes you tighter, taking a shaky breath.  “Everything’s fine, my heart.”

The pet name makes you blush.

“I suppose I’m just feeling sentimental tonight,” he continues, pulling away from you, but not too far.  He still holds you close but can’t seem to look you quite in the eyes.  “I am simply so grateful to have you in my life.”

You smile at him, gently turning his face to yours and kissing him tenderly. “I love you,” you murmur, pulling away to look at him.  He looks back, his dark eyes soft and adoring.

“I love you too, my sweet.”

You both settle back into each other’s arms, appreciating the music and each other’s presence. Resting your head on his shoulder, you close your eyes, allowing yourself to doze.  Dark breaks the silence one last time.

“Also, just for your information,” he whispers, “I’m sure that you are the reason I have that freckle on my chin.”

You smile and let out a small huff of amusement before replying, “Yeah, sounds about right.”

As Dark hears your breathing even out, it takes everything within him to not let his glassy eyes shed a tear.  His brain is swarmed with painful nostalgia and the misery of having to keep your entire past from you.  The secret bears heavily on what little soul he has left.  He won’t succumb to the misery, though.  You wouldn’t want that.  He instead chooses to focus on the fact that you are here now and that, in and of itself, is more than he could ever deserve or ask for.
