a/n: i got a little inspiration while watching more & more hehe. also this is my first fic so bare with me and let me know what you think :):)

when adam and eve were casted out of the garden for eating the forbidden fruit, nine angels were sent to the garden to look after the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and prevent humans from entering the garden of eden.

since the angels were not allowed to leave, they were in the garden every single day, with almost little to no clue on what is going on outside. thousands of years past, their time were spent on playing around and just relaxing.

it was until one of the angels wanted a chance to be in the outside world, free of the burden of being a guardian. she wanted to see how far civilization outside the garden has grew. however, she knew she couldn't leave unless she has fallen. lately, she has grown curious about the forbidden fruit in the middle of the garden, and it may be her one way ticket out.

"have any one of you ever wondered how the forbidden fruit tastes like? like what will happen if we eat it, seeing as we’re immortal and all." the said angel—nayeon—asked as she and her companions sat under the shade, watching the butterflies flutter around.

"and get exiled? are you insane?" dahyun exclaimed in shock. "also, you might as well ask adam and eve that question since they’re the only ones who have the experience. oh wait, they're not in the garden and probably dead by now."

nayeon rolled her eyes at her fellow angel's reply. "aren't you at least a tad bit about the world outside this place?" she asks, "we've been guarding this place for so long, clearly no one can enter this place, aren't you bored?"

mina—who has been silent throughout nayeon and dahyun's little argument—hummed in agreement, earning a surprised gasp from the shortest angel. "if you want to head out so badly, we can sneak out," dahyun suggested, "or ask jihyo for some time off," she shrugged.

"she'd probably lecture us on our duty as guardians then object, you know how she is. not to mention, she is the only archangel amongst us," mina said, huffing at that one time jihyo nagged at her for being late for her rounds. "besides, i'm quite curious about the fruit too."

"great, let's go!" nayeon laughed as she dragged mina and dahyun towards the center of the garden where the said tree is at.

"this is a bad idea, if the others were to find us here, we're dead," dahyun whispered, she didn't even agree to this but she was dragged into it. however, she'd be lying if she were to say she didn't want to leave the clutches of the garden.

nayeon brushed off dahyun's nervousness with a wave of dismissal, "i can assure you that sana, momo and tzuyu are probably playing with the bunnies again, chaeyoung and jeongyeon are probably having their lame jokes battle as always and our lovely jihyo is head-banging at their jokes." without waiting for her companion's reply, nayeon followed the path that led to the tree of the fobidden fruit.

nayeon’s steps slowly came to a halt as she stood before the fruit in front of her. she was astonished by the fruit say the least. without any hesitation, she reached out and grabbed the red fruit.

as nayeon bit into the fruit, it broke into pieces with a soft cunch. the sound lingered, drifting around the air. sweetness filled her mouth, time seem to slow down as her eyes are opened. “i-wow,” nayeon mumbled as she looked at her surroundings. wherein the colors are brighter, flashy, she could even see the details of the smallest bug.

seeing nayeon’s reaction, mina and dahyun soon followed suit, grabbing a fruit for themselves and consuming it. the three of them laughed as they took in their surroundings, not even an ounce of regret for consuming the forbidden fruit could be seen on their faces.

their high came to a stop when they senses the presence of six other angels, and an additional one who radiates power. nayeon turned around to see her group of friends looking at them with disappointment. beside her friends stood the archangel with his sword drawn, anger evident on his face.

unbeknownst to dahyun, mina and nayeon, a snake slithered off the tree of forbidden fruit and into the unknown...
