The Gray Reunion
Tumblr media
Vi x reader
Words: 1.5k
Warnings: Violence, mentions of illness, blood, slightly spicy kisses ;)
Summary: In the midst of the chaos, you struggle to help the people of the Lanes. The truth behind the disaster sparks a confrontation that will test your bonds
Note:English is not my first language, sorry
Tumblr media
In the past few hours, your modest apartment had turned into chaos. At least a dozen people had knocked on your door seeking help, intoxicated by something you hadn’t seen in years.
They could barely fit into the small living room, which also served as your kitchen and bedroom, waiting for you to help them, coughing out toxic fumes. Everyone expected you, just as your father had done in the past, to help or offer a solution, but you were completely lost, fumbling with medical supplies that had been stored away for years.
"The gray," murmured an older woman who was holding her husband as he struggled to breathe.
"That’s impossible," you replied. "We haven’t had problems with that in years, the ventilation system..."
"Then there must be a leak," she interrupted, raising her voice before a violent cough cut her off. You watched as her hand was splattered with blood. She inhaled deeply before continuing, "I’ve been through this before, but we don’t have the years on us anymore. Your father treated it countless times. Doesn’t he have notes somewhere?"
You sighed in defeat. "I’ve lost most of Dad’s things over the years. All I have left is what you see." You placed the stethoscope on a child’s back to listen to his breathing. "There’s nothing I can do. We just have to wait for the lungs to clean themselves... and stay far from the leak."
A collective groan arose from the people packed into your small space. "And how are we supposed to do that? We live there! Where can we go?" Various complaints began to rise.
"I wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t. We just have to wait until they repair the leak."
"They’re not going to fix it! It’s those damn enforcers! They’re killing us to get to Jinx!" Another wave of murmurs rippled through the room.
You tried to remain calm. Could that be true? Were the people above really capable of poisoning everyone just to catch Jinx? Those above had taken so much from you already that it seemed entirely plausible. But then an image came to mind—Violet. She was in Piltover now, and she would never let this happen, not to the place that had been her home for so many years and still was yours. Right?
You continued your work, trying to calm the rebellion brewing in your living room, tending to the most severe cases of nosebleeds and eye hemorrhages. But there wasn’t much more you could do. Around three in the morning, the last person finally left.
Exhausted, you collapsed onto your bed, utterly defeated. Chances were, all the patients you’d seen today would return tomorrow with new symptoms. It was impossible to recover from the gray while constantly exposed to it. You knew that if it was a crack, it would take years to fix. And if it was intentional, if they were hunting Jinx... that would also take time. There was no way they’d catch her.
A knock on the door kept you from falling completely asleep. You cursed under your breath—new patients. Your father’s voice echoed in your mind, reminding you how he wouldn’t rest until he’d helped the last person who needed him. You repeated the phrase to yourself before getting up to answer the door, only to be met with a great surprise.
Vi stood there, but the most shocking thing was her outfit. She was dressed as a full-fledged officer, an enforcer. You couldn’t suppress a gasp of utter disbelief. You had spent years of your life together; you knew her story as well as your own, and never would you have imagined the possibility of her wearing something like that—not even as a joke.
"I’m truly surprised," you murmured. She scoffed in irritation. You stepped aside to let her in, and she dropped her new, heavy gloves onto your floor. You bit your lip to keep from scolding her.
The past few days had been madness: Vi’s return, the search for Jinx, and your responsibilities trying to honor your father’s legacy had left you with barely a moment to breathe.
"Lots of patients?" she asked, trying to start a conversation.
"Too many," you replied, collapsing onto the bed again. She still stood awkwardly in the middle of the room. "You can lie down if you want... Unless you’re scared of dirtying that pretty uniform." She let out a short laugh before lying down next to you.
"I’ve barely seen you since you came back... I don’t think I ever got to tell you how happy I am that you’re here... Despite everything."
"Yeah, I suppose the first hug you gave me said it all."
"I mean it, Vi," you said, turning to face her. "Everything got so hard, but now you’re here, and I feel like things will get better."
She smiled faintly. "Yeah, we just have to fix a few things, and everything will improve." She propped herself up to sit beside you. "You look really pretty," she added. "Those dark circles suit you."
You couldn’t help but laugh. For just a moment, all the bad things disappeared. It was just the two of you in your small apartment—no Jinx, no gray, no problems in the Lanes. Just you two. Without thinking, you leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to her lips. She froze for a moment.
"I thought you missed me," she teased.
"I did."
"That’s not a reunion kiss. This is." Without warning, she leaned over and kissed you deeply. You welcomed her eagerly—it was like a breath of fresh air, something rare where you’d grown up. The kisses grew more intense, and your hands wandered over her torso and back. Vi positioned herself on top of you, using her hand for support on your pillow. But she quickly pulled it back.
"What’s this?" she asked.
You looked to the side, confused, and saw a large bloodstain. You hadn’t even noticed it. You sighed. "I’m really sorry." You sat up slightly, but Vi didn’t move off you. You grabbed the pillow and threw it to the other side of the room. "It’s been such a complicated day with the ventilation cracks."
"Yeah, don’t worry. I’m not at my best, either."
"Doesn’t seem like it." You kissed her intensely again, and she adjusted immediately.
"When all this is over, we should go on a real date. Like dinner and all that cheesy stuff."
You laughed against her lips at her failed attempt at romance. "I just hope it’s soon."
"It will be," she declared confidently. "Once they catch Jinx, everything will get better, and life in the Lanes will change—just like Vander always wanted."
Vi’s hands slipped under your shirt as you shared another passionate kiss, but her words lingered in your mind.
"Wait, wait, no," you said, pushing her slightly so she moved off you.
"Oh, do you want to take control, doll?" she teased.
"Did you have anything to do with this?" She looked confused, so you pushed her again to sit beside you. "The gas? Was it you?"
Vi stayed silent, hesitant to answer.
"Is this some kind of joke? You’re poisoning us just to catch your sister?" you shouted, furious.
"Hey, hey, it’s not like that... I mean, yes, but not how you think."
"You bitch," you spat, jumping out of bed. "Do you even understand the damage you’ve caused?"
"Listen to me. We used the gray to clear the streets, to keep people safe," she tried to explain.
"Used? Who’s ‘we’? You and your new enforcer friends? Well, you didn’t protect anyone!" You exploded. "Do you have any idea how many people you hurt? At least fifty came here today!"
"She’s a murderer! She killed half the council, she—"
"She’s not a traitor," you cut her off sharply.
The room fell silent as you watched Vi clench her fists in anger. You’d struck a nerve.
"Did you really do this for her? Or did your new enforcer friend convince you?" you spat, unable to hide your disgust.
"Don’t call her that!" Vi’s hands grabbed the collar of your shirt, pushing you against the wall.
You stayed inches apart for what felt like ten seconds before she let go, though she didn’t step back. Her heavy breathing mixed with yours, and you could smell the perfume from her uniform—a scent impossible to find down here.
"Get out of my house," you whispered.
"You have to understand—"
"Get out!"
Vi sighed loudly, grabbed her heavy gloves from the floor, and walked to the door. You opened it for her, stepping aside. She crossed the threshold without meeting your gaze but stopped in the doorway.
"I hope your new friend is worth it." She didn’t turn around, just kept walking down the dark street, away from your home.
You couldn’t stop the tears from falling.
What had you expected? Nothing had stayed the same over the years.
You locked the door before collapsing into bed. Tomorrow would be another hard day in the Lanes.

hibino kafka? more like hubbyno kafka (mdni)
Tumblr media
❀ kafka who loves kissing you more than anything, and will have his lips on you at any possible time. this clown here loves to press the wettest smooch on your cheek just as much as he loves kissing you softly while you rock to the sound of the news in the background.
❀ kafka who's always texting you. his name will constantly be popping up on your phone, be it to wish you a good day at work, to complain about some inconvenience at his job, or to remind you that he loves you for the seventh time that morning.
❀ kafka who had always been okay with his bachelor apartment looking like a wreck, but since he started dating you no dishes pile up in the sink, the trash is taken out, and the cleaning is kept up with.
❀ kafka who immediately started getting extra toothbrushes, towels and other supplies the moment your relationship started looking serious, in hopes that it would incite you to come over more often.
❀ kafka who thanks his lucky stars every time he gets to wake up next to you because holy shit how did a loser like him pull a beauty like you? (it's fine we love losers 'round here)
❀ kafka who can never get enough of slow mornings with you. he often has you staying over at his place, and his bathroom is too small to let you brush your teeth side by side, so he gets the next best thing: you straddling his hips while you sit on the counter, peacefully getting ready for the day.
❀ kafka who gets a little insecure sometimes, especially before becoming an officer. he doesn't need constant reassurance, but there are days when he can't help staring at the mirror a little longer, a little harsher.
❀ kafka who falls harder still when you assure him that his dad body is extremely sexy, and that you love that he's so big and warm he's literally perfect to cuddle with.
❀ kafka who feels so much better when he sees how happy wearing his huge baggy clothes makes you. he has had to give up too many hoodies to count at this point, not that he's complaining.
❀ on that note, kafka who loves it when you're wearing one of his oversized shirts and nothing else - well, except perhaps a pair or wooly thigh-high socks during the colder months. After all, the central heating in his apartment is pretty bad, so you have to work with what you have.
❀ kafka who presses down on your covered hamstrings to keep you folded nearly in half while his fat cock plunges in and out of your soaking wet pussy; he's obsessed with the unrestricted sight of the filthy mess he's making out of your swollen cunt.
❀ kafka who sometimes absently wonders if you would be okay with him shapeshifting to fuck you better. he knows that kaiju no. 8 looks scary as shit and that he still has a hard time controlling the extra strength, but some twisted part of him wants to see how much further he could push you (little does he know his fans are monsterfuckers)
❀ kafka who ultimately is a pretty vanilla lover who just lives for those moments late at night when he has you sitting back against his soft chest with your legs spread embarrassingly wide while his thick fingers play you like a goddamn fiddle.
❀ kafka who, yes, is 100% a giver in every aspect of your relationship. but boy does he turn into a whore whenever you pay some well-deserved attention to him. he'll take anything you're willing to offer, but worship his body and his cock with your hands and tongue and he's done for.
❀ kafka who is not shy per se, but he gets really horny really fast if you start dirty talking to him. it might take a little bit of confidence for him to reciprocate, but once he warms up he's pulling out all the "yes, baby, want your mouth on me so bad", or the "i'm not gonna stop until you make a fucking mess on my sheets, got it?"
❀ kafka who used to dread laundry day, but will now happily change his sheets everyday if it means he got to fuck you good the night before.

summary: Beomgyu snuck out his house to go on a bike ride and ends up falling off! :( but luckily you helped him..
smut under the cut!! MDNI‼️
You left your house about 20 minutes ago and decide to walk to the beachside a few minutes away from your apartment. As you were walking this boy kept riding past you until he fell off! You quickly run over to him and crouch next to him.
“Oh my god are you okay?” You asked him even though he now had cuts and bruises on his body
“Yeah im fine” he tried to move his bike off him “could you please help?”
You nod your head and move his bike off him and help him up
“Hey im y/n i live a few blocks from here so i can help clean you up if obviously you wanted?”
He looked at you and smiled “really?”
“Yes”
“Your not gonna hurt me for like annoying your walk that was meant to be peaceful?”
“What? Of course not! I just wanna help you and then you can go home” you explained to him now having a bit of suspension on why he thought you were gonna hurt him so you decide to ask him as you two start walking back to your apartment.
“Hey i was wondering why you thought i was gonna hurt you? If anything is going on at home with whoever you live with you can talk to me or anything.. but you dont have to if you dont want to”
The boy looked at you and nods his head to say he listened and appreciated your words
“Uhm i come out on my bike quite often at night when my family is asleep and i sneak out and come here often..”
“Ohh so like its an escape for you then?”
“Yeah i uh guess?”
Soon enough you get to your apartment complex and you open the door and let him in first and then you walk towards the elevator and press floor 8.
“Sorry you couldnt bring your bike in here.. but don’t worry the receptionist will keep it safe!”
The boy laughs a little as the elevator dings signalling your at floor 8. You walk out the elevator and the boy follows behind you as you walk to your apartment
“My apartment is kinda big and theres a spare bedroom incase you cant get home..”
“Thank you y/n you dont know how much this means to me..” He says just above a whisper. You make you way to your bedroom and grab your first aid kit
“Hey i never got your name..?”
“Beomgyu”
“Thats a pretty name for a pretty boy. Anyway sit down here” You pat a chair next to you and Beomgyu sits down with light blush covering his face from your complement. You open the kit and take out a antibiotic wipe and gently clean his cuts while he hisses in pain.
“Shit.. ouch” He mumbles
“Sorry..”
You finish cleaning his cuts and bruises and bandage them up
“Its 11pm and i dont want you riding home alone and my car is broke.. would your family mind if you slept here just for tonight?” You asked him
“Mm no they wouldnt mind..”
You nod your head
“You can sleep in the spare bedroom but if you need me or anything you can come in my room”
Beomgyu smiles down at you on your knees and thanks you before asking another question…
“Could i sit on your bed uhm with you and we can just talk?”
“Yeah if you wanted i dont mind!”
“Really?” He asked surprised you didnt shout at him for wanting to be in your bed. You get off your knees and put the bloody tissues in the bin and put away the first aid kit and get on your bed and pt the space next to you. Beomgyu stands up and sits on your bed
“Y/n?”
“Yesss?”
“Can i tell you something?”
“Yes”
“I was on my bike earlier cuz i wanted to escape from my family.. i can’t remember if i told you.. but i wanted to escape from them because they uh abuse me.. so some of the bruises you saw were from my  dad as he doesn’t support what i do..”
“Oh well what do you do?”
“I play the guitar and livestream it and he doesn’t support me playing music.. it’s because he doesnt want me to make more money than him since he gets really bad pay days like he doesnt get alot of money and my mom she pays for the bills and my dad uses her but my mom also abuses me but she does it mentally.. and earlier today my dad smashed my guitar while i was livestreaming…”
You nod your head and listen to him carefully..
“Im so sorry thats happened to you Beomgyu and im thankful you trust me to tell me considering we met a few hours ago..”
He smiles and nods his head.
A few hours go by and you dont know how you got onto the topics of your sex like but you did and beomgyu kept a pillow on his lap.. you  knew why but didnt say anything until the question came around..
“Are you a virgin?” You asked him and he shuffled slightly as he face went a crimson red as he slowly nodded and soon enough you found yourself on his lap heavily making out with him as you slowly grinded down on his lap.. He whimpered.
“Holy shit..” you thought growing wetter at his moans and noises.
You run your fingers through his long oreo hair and pull away from the kiss
“Are you sure you want this? I mean your a virgin and we dont know eachother super well..”
He eagerly nodded his head
“Okay Gyu if its what you want” you shrug as you sit between his legs and pull his jeans and boxers down to his knees and his thick long veiny cock hit his stomach.
“Jeez baby your huge” you say as you watch the pre-cum drip down his shaft.
“Ready pretty boy?”
“P-please!”
You took that as a yes and kitten licked his tip before taking little by little in your mouth slowly bobbing your head up and down while jerking the rest you couldnt fit in your mouth
“Y-y/n! Fuck fuck fuck!” He whined loudly as he gripped onto your hair
“‘m gonna c-cum.. please let me mommy” his whimpers bounced off the walls of your bedroom as your hands reach up and rub his nipples as he chanted your name like it was a ritual as he came in your mouth and of course! You swallowed.. you dont want his cum going to waste did you?
“M-mommy want your p-pussy..”
“What do we say when we want something baby?”
“P-please”
“Good boy”
You get of the bed and shimmy your pj pants off and let Beomgyu tale your panties off
“Go on take them off for mommy”
His hands slowly took your panties off and he threw them on the floor as you hovered above his cock
“Ready?”
He nodded once again as you slowly sank down on him. You stopped halfway to try get used to him stretching you out and a few seconds later you took him all in your gummy walls.
“Hnng.. f-feels so good..” He moans as you start bouncing on his thick girthy cock
“Doing so well for me Beomie.. so pretty.. fuckkk!” You praised as he hit your sweet spot
At this point the only noises were skin slapping and both of your moans and whimpers
“G-gonna cum” Beomgyu whimpers as he bucks his hips to meet yours
“Cum for me baby” you whisper in his eat as you kiss his neck and leave nasty dark purple splotches on his neck and collarbones. He bucks his hips up to meet yours one last time before he releases his hot load into you and soon after you cream on him and collapse on top of him
“Did so well for me.. im surprised your a virgin with that cock” i laugh and he laughs back
“Ill get towels then you can shower and we can go bed” you say as you get off his cream covered dick and go get warm towels to clean the both of you up..
After your both are cleaned up and in comfy clothes you two fall asleep cuddling….
do not steal, copy, translate!

The Peaky Role (Part Four)
Pairing: Cillian Murphy x Reader
Warning: Age Gap, Best Friend's Dad
Later that day...
After you finished your last scene, at around 6 o'clock that day, a few of the cast members where quick to leave while others were hanging around.
"Are you joining us for dinner tonight?" one of the younger actors asked, flashing you a bright smile. "We often go to the pub on the corner. The food there is fantastic, and the atmosphere is totally relaxed."
You shook your head, a somewhat tired but polite smile tugging at the corners of your mouth. "Thanks, but I’m going to skip it tonight. I am pretty tired," you explained while Cillian joined the conversation beside you, his hands in his pockets.
"What about you, Cillian?" the same actor asked, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Cillian chuckled softly. "I think you already know the answer to that. No pub for me tonight."
Laughter rippled through the group. "You're such a hermit," another actor teased, nudging him but Cillian simply shrugged.
"Are all of you Irish like this?" the young man then asked, but you shook your head.
You rolled your eyes, smirking at the banter. “No, just Cillian. I’m saving money, not avoiding socializing,” you shot back, grinning, while Cillian chuckled softly, the corner of his mouth lifting in amusement before suggesting that you walk back to the apartment complex together.
As you walked out of the studio, the air felt fresher with the evening breeze nudging at your skin. Streetlights flickered on, casting an amber glow along the pavement.
"You really should think about joining them next time, to get to know some more people in the industry," Cillian said, stepping beside you as you crossed the street.
“I know, but I am actually saving money and this job does not pay well unless you are famous," you replied, your voice laced with a hint of humor, though a hint of truth lingered in your tone. “I’d rather not spend it on overpriced pub grub.”
Cillian nodded, a knowing look in his deep blue eyes. "I remember those days, believe me," he chuckled before glancing down at the street as you both walked. "I used to count every penny back when I was starting out."
You looked up at him, intrigued. “Really? You? I can’t imagine you ever struggling.”
A wry smile danced on his lips. "You'd be surprised," he replied, his gaze flickering to a passing car. "I was hitchhiking because I couldn't afford a bloody car back then. It takes a lot to get where you want to be."
You snorted. "Oh my god, did you ever get picked up by some weirdos?" you asked, a teasing grin spreading across your face.
Cillian threw his head back in laughter, the sound echoing in the quiet street. “Trust me, I have stories that would make your skin crawl.” He chuckled, shaking his head. “But I suppose that's part of the journey. You learn a lot when you’re out there.”
As approaching your hotel, the neon sign of a supermarket glowed invitingly across the street.
“I do need to grab some food, do you want to come?" he then asked as you paused at the entrance. You glanced at the bright lights illuminating the aisles of the supermarket, welcoming the idea of joining him.
"Sure, I need some stuff too," you replied, falling into step beside him as you both pushed through the sliding glass doors.
Inside, the familiar scent of produce and faint cleaning products filled your nose and you quickly seperated.
You made your way to the fast food aisle, scanning the shelves filled with instant noodles, microwave dinners, and other quick options. You pulled a packet of noodles off the shelf, squeezing it lightly before tossing it into your basket.
Needing some tacos, Cillian joined but then paused beside you, peering into your basket with an amused expression. “You really aren’t going to eat that for dinner, are you?”
You raised an eyebrow, a smirk creeping onto your face. “Why not?" you returned playfully. “It’s quick and easy. Just add hot water and voilà, dinner is served.”
Cillian shook his head slowly, a hint of disbelief in his eyes. “That’s not a dinner. You need something more nutritious to keep up your energy. How about some proper food?”
You chuckled, your gaze darting back to the lineup of instant meals. "It's fine, really. Instant noodles have been my best friend for years," you replied, tossing another packet into the basket for good measure.
Cillian raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth twitching with amusement as he took in the collection of instant meals. “I’m not letting you eat that," he then determined before making a suggestion.
"How about this—why don’t you join me for dinner? I am cooking anyway and you can leave after, go about your own plans as you please. But at least this way, you can eat something healthy."
You hesitated, caught off guard by the unexpected invitation. The prospect of a home-cooked meal sparked a fleeting sense of joy, but you pulled back, a grin playing on your lips.
"Cooking, huh? Look at you going all domestic even after a long day of playing a gangster," you teased, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Cillian laughed, his eyes glinting with appreciation. “Trust me, I can whip up a mean chilli con-carne. Despite, I find cooking therapeutic," he said before he paused, scanning the shelves again. “It helps me to clear my head after a long day," he explained as he selected a a few more items and tossed them into his basket. "So, what do you say?" he asked and you studied him for a moment, weighing the prospect of good food against the allure of your usual routine.
Cillian’s sincerity felt refreshing, and the idea of breaking away from instant noodles was oddly tempting .
"Alright, you’ve convinced me,” you finally agreed, a grin breaking out on your face. “I’ll join you for dinner," you said, your excitement bubbling like the instant noodles you were used to.
Cillian beamed, the tension in his shoulders easing as if a weight had been lifted. “Great! Let's just get some more things and go. It's getting late," he told you, causing you to chuckle again.
"It's not even seven o'clock," you countered, your laughter fading as you followed him through the aisles, watching as he thoughtfully selected fresh vegetables and spices for his dish.
Once done, Cillian paid and you headed straight to his apartment which, not to your suprise, was much bigger than yours.
"Now, tell me what I can do," you said, looking around as Cillian led the way into his spacious kitchen, adorned with sleek cabinets and modern appliances. "I may as well learn something while I’m here."
Cillian chuckled, setting the bags down on the counter with a soft thud. “You want me to teach you how to cook?" Cillian clarified with an amused twinkle in his eye.
“Absolutely,” you replied, leaning against the counter as you watched him pull out a cutting board and knives.
Cillian grinned, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt as he began to unpack the groceries. “Alright then, first things first—chop up these vegetables,” he said, pulling out a variety of colorful bell peppers and an onion. He handed you a knife, placing a cutting board in front of you.
"Consider it done," you said, grabbing the knife with confidence. You sliced into the onion, the crisp sound filling the kitchen as you focused intently on your task, trying to mimic Cillian’s precise chopping techniques. Cillian moved about the kitchen, his presence both calming and exhilarating. With every slice of the knife, you could feel the rhythm settling in, the usual chatter of nerves pushed aside.
“Not bad for a novice,” Cillian commented, glancing over at you while tossing the chopped peppers into a sizzling frying pan. The aroma of the vegetables mingled with the heat radiating from the stove as they began to soften.
"Thanks," you murmured, your ears flushing with pride at his compliment. “You make it look easy.”
Cillian chuckled, stirring the contents in the pan with finesse, steam rising and swirling around him.
“Practice makes perfect,” he said, glancing your way with an encouraging smile and, once the chilli was cooking, he turned back towards you.
“Now tell me, what did you think about your first day on set?" he asked and you paused, considering your answer.
“It was definitely overwhelming at first,” you admitted, your fingers stilling over the vegetables. “Walking onto that set, seeing everyone bustling about, I felt like a deer caught in headlights. There’s just so much energy and you can sense the weight of expectations in the air.”
Cillian nodded, leaning against the counter and crossing his arms, a look of understanding crossing his face. “That’s the nature of this business. The moment you step onto set, it feels like you carry everyone's ideas and needs along with you."
You nodded, letting his words sink in. “Right? But once I got into the groove of my scenes, it all sort of faded away. The adrenaline kicked in, and I felt more like myself," you finished, a content smile spreading across your face.
Cillian's gaze softened, and he nodded thoughtfully. “Well, for what it's worth, you did incredibly well for your first day," he encouraged you thoughtfully but, even before you could respond to him, you felt a little dizzy.
You paused, blinking rapidly as the colors around you blurred for a moment.
“Are you okay?” Cillian asked, concern edging into his voice as he turned his full attention to you, noticing you turning pale.
“ I'm fine,” you insisted, forcing a smile that felt thin at the edges. “Just a little lightheaded, I think.”
Cillian's blue eyes narrowed, studying you intently. “ "You don’t look fine," he said, shifting closer, concern knitting his brows together. "Have you had your insulin?" he asked and you swallowed hard, your heart racing as you realised how closely he observed you.
“Um, not for a bit, you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper as you glanced down, avoiding his piercing gaze.
“Not for a bit?” His tone escalated, disbelief evident in his voice. “Where is it?" he asked and you hesitated, the urgency thick in the air as you flicked your eyes toward your bag, which you had left near the front door.
“I just... I figured I wouldn't need it for another couple of hours,” you stammered, guilt creeping into your voice as you felt his eyes bore into you.
"Come on, lie down on the couch for a minute while I get it," Cillian insisted, his voice firm yet gentle as he guided you to the living room, his hand resting on your back with a surprising warmth.
You sank into the plush couch, exhaling shaky breaths as the world slowly came back into focus. Cillian hurried off into the hallway, leaving you alone for a moment. The quiet of the apartment wrapped around you, and you closed your eyes, trying to breathe through the wave of dizziness that had washed over you.
Cillian returned moments later, his expression a mixture of focus and worry. He held your insulin pen in one hand, the tiny device feeling almost foreign as he approached.
"I need the monitor too," you murmured, your voice steadying as you reached for your bag. Cillian's eyes never left you, concern etched across his handsome features.
"What about your new monitor? The one that hooks in all the time?" he asked as he looked through your bag quickly and then found it tucked away in a pocket. He held it up with a hint of authority, as if success depended on this small device.
"I took it off for filming," you admitted, a sheepish grin escaping your lips. “Didn’t want to deal with the wires showing through my outfit.”
"Jesus Y/N," he groaned, his voice tinged with frustration but laced with concern. He set the monitor down and focused on you, his blue eyes intense. “You’ve got to take this more seriously," he lectured you just as your father would before reaching for your hand.
"Give me your index finger," he demanded gently.
With reluctant compliance, you extended your finger, feeling the warmth of his hand linger against yours.
Cillian pressed the small lance against your fingertip, the quick sting almost pleasant in its urgency. He squeezed gently until a bead of blood formed, then swiftly positioned the glucose monitor over it.
He then placed the strip into the monitor, his eyes flicking to the screen as the numbers displayed steadily counted down.
"How often do you check this?" he asked, his voice steady, though you could hear the underlying tension in his tone.
"Usually before I eat," you replied, watching him with a mixture of gratitude and embarrassment. “Sometimes after if I feel off, but…” you said as you let your voice trail off, the weight of your admission hanging in the air, palpable and heavy.
"What does it say?" you then asked and Cillian’s focus remained fixed on the screen, his brow creasing as he showed you, not really understanding the numbers.
Cillian held the monitor out, his frown deepening and you blinked at the glowing digits, your heart sinking.
"Pass me the pen," you instructed, your voice steady yet urgent. Cillian hesitated for just a moment, his expression marking concern, but then he handed it to you without question.
You grabbed it, twisting off the cap with precision. You could feel Cillian's gaze on you, the weight of his worry tangible in the air as you prepared to inject the insulin.
You lifted your shirt slightly , exposing a small area of skin on your abdomen. You quickly pushed the needle into the soft flesh, the sting a familiar sensation that calmed your racing thoughts.
Cillian shifted closer, his presence almost enclosing you like a protective barrier as you pressed down on the plunger, delivering the dose with a steadiness you’d practiced countless times before.
"All done," you murmured, placing the pen down on the coffee table, your breath gradually evening out as you felt the tension in your system loosen.
Cillian remained close, his expression softening as he watched you. “You had me worried there for a second,” he admitted, a hint of relief breaking his serious demeanor, his deep blue eyes momentarily shimmering with concern.
"Sorry to cause a panic," you replied, letting out a shaky laugh as you settled back into the couch, the tension in your body easing just a little.
You chuckled softly, the unease slowly fading as you caught Cillian's eye.
"Just relax for a bit now, okay?" Cillian said, his hand hovering near yours in a gentle reminder. “I’ll finish up the dinner, and you can sit here until you feel better.”
"Okay, thank you," you replied, sinking further into the soft cushions as relief gradually washed over you. Cillian’s reassurance wrapped around you like a comforting blanket, and you took a moment to breathe as you watched him head back to the kitchen, still wearing that focused expression. He moved with an ease that suggested this was a routine for him, perhaps a dance he had perfected over years of solitary dinners between shoots.
The sizzle of the frying pan mingled with the soft murmur of a cooking show blaring from the television, a comforting backdrop to the evening. You relaxed into the couch, the softness pulling at you as you let your mind wander in the stillness of the moment.
It felt strange to be here, sharing a meal with Cillian, your best friend's father, without her being here too. It felt wrong somehow, but you actually enjoyed his company.

“Don’t make me repeat myself.”
Eddie’s intense eyes penetrate yours, his chest rising and falling as he breathes heavily in anger.
“I am in charge of you.”
“You control me in bed, yes, but out here I am your partner to and your doctor. You need to rest, Eddie.”
Grumbling under his breath, the gangster grabs his jacket and heads for the door.
“I can heal at my own place. I don’t need either of you getting in my way.”, he growls before stomping out of your apartment.
As you glance towards Steve, you notice his facial features harden as he silently begins to clean up the mess they both made. Once your living room was clear of any evidence of Officer Douglas, the other man pulled a pack of cigarettes you didn’t know he had, lighting the end and leaned against the back of your couch.
“Do you want me to leave to?”
“I didn’t ask him to go; he chose to. I want you both here.”
“Maybe I should leave… Maybe this was all a mistake, bringing you into this.”
“Fuck you.”, you hiss causing his head to jerk your way. “Yeah, Steven, fuck you. I just lost someone I cared about, I was attacked, and I told you both I loved you but THIS may be a mistake?! FUCK. YOU!”
Fuming, his jaw clenched as his eyes became glassy and he rose to his feet without saying another word, leaving your apartment, and slamming the front door.
***
A month later, you found yourself in a police integration room again this time completely unsure of what they were going to ask. You hadn’t heard from either man but you knew they had to have been busy from what you saw on the news.
“Hey, Y/N.”, Detective Hopper sighed with a smile your way as he entered the room alone. “I’m sorry to be bothering you again.”
“I haven’t seen Eddie in a while so I don’t know how much help I can be.”
“You two are no longer together? Hm. Is that why Allen Munson’s associates are seemingly disappearing?”
“I don’t even want to know how you got from A to B and I still don’t understand how you became a Detective.”, you sneered. “Is that why you brought me down here? I told you that Eddie’s not a killer. Why don’t you ask the rival gangs like the Carvers or some shit?”
“Because Jason Carver and some of his men left down. We don’t know where or exactly but his father said he went on vacation. Personally, with other gangsters and police disappearing I’m not surprised.”
“Police?”
“Mhmm… we lost 3 other uniforms in the past month and upon searching their homes found some incriminating evidence that they were working for Edward’s dad. It makes me extremely nervous, Y/N, the things we’re uncovering.” Jim’s eyes scan you over as you fold into yourself and sigh. “Y/N, how well do you know Steve Harrington?”
Your head shot up as your brows furrowed at the question.
“Your partner? He’s a dick who’s always rude to me. Why? Do you think he’s involved with Eddie’s dad?”
“Honestly, no, but I have to take into account that he’s been building a case against The Munson’s for a while and hasn’t gotten any head way in over a year. Add in some coincidences I can’t ignore like him being jumped by the Carver’s and then a week later a few of their members turn up dead. He, um, also went to you for treatment and a couple of months later you’re dating Allen Munson’s son.”
“Well, Detective, like I said…I’m amazed you’re allowed to still work cases with the conclusions you jump to. May I leave now?”
“Yes you may.”, he grumbles. “We have a car watching every move he makes so don’t do anything stupid, doctor.”
“Hm. You have a cop watching him yet you didn’t know we broke up. May want to check your intel or become a better liar.”
After collecting your things, you power walk to your car and as soon as you slam the door shut, you break as you begin to sob. A soft tap on your passenger side window made you jump before you realized it was only one of the men responsible for your broken heart.
“What do you want, Steve?”
“Is everything ok? I didn’t know you were coming down here.”, he replied as he climbed into your vehicle.
“Don’t worry. I always told you two I would never rat either of you out so—”
“That’s not what I meant…”, he whispered before heavily sighing. “Usually, they keep me in the loop when it comes to things involving Eddie. No one told me they were integrating you. Did someone break in again?”
“No. No one broke in or has come after me. Probably because Eddie is slaughtering them all.”, you say with distain making him flinch. “You need to tell him to be more careful, Steve. He’s being too obvious with what he’s doing.”
“Yeah, well, I haven’t talked to him in a month so it’s not like he’ll listen to me.” As your head swiveled his way, he turned to gaze out the windshield not willing to meet your eyes for fear of you seeing how hurt he really was. “I call and he doesn’t answer. I went to the compound and they told me I’m no longer welcome.”
“Steve…”
“I guess that whole year we were together and he told me he loved me was all bullshit. Especially if he can throw me away so easily.”
“He’s in a lot of pain—”
“And we’re not?”, Steve snaps.
“You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to play victim when you left me to. I haven’t heard from you either, Steve. Why have YOU stayed away?!”
“Because it hurts too much! I love you both but what he’s involved in right now could get you killed. It almost did! You guys think I’m this big tough cop but seeing him get beaten the way he was… seeing you fucking shaking in his arms with those bruises on your neck… it kills me! I feel like I failed you both.”
As he wiped the tears he tried to hide, you did the same before turning to fully face him.
“They, or at least Hopper, thinks you may be working for Allen.”
“What?”
“The dots he’s connected brought him to that conclusion and with the three cops that have apparently wound-up dead—”
“I guess it’s not that big of leap but, Jesus, I’m not that much of an asshole. From the research I’ve done, I think those three plus Officer Douglas were the only ones in my precinct who worked for him. He may have some guards in the prison on his side especially with how easy it was to move Gabe and Eddie around to get them in the same block.”
When you become silent, he can’t help but release a heavy sigh.
“Thank you for telling me what they know. I’m still always working to keep you both safe.”
As he reaches for the door handle, your hand grabs his wrist.
“I may have an idea of how we can help him and we may only have to kill one more person.”
“We?”
“I want to help, Steve. I love him to.”
#############
“Miss Y/L/N, I’m sorry but… I was told to not allow anyone that isn’t a part of his crew up to the loft especially you or Mr. Harrington here.”
“I’m not asking for permission, Marcus. We’re going up there whether he likes it or not but I was hoping we could avoid any theatrics.”, you replied with a hard tone.
Sighing, he leaned over to call upstairs but before he could say a word you took the phone from his hand.
“Eddie, Steve and I need to talk to you.”
“I have nothing to say to either of you and there’s nothing I want to hear.”
“You said you loved us. The least you could do is face us one more time. Or is little gangster too scared?”
His growl reverberated through the receiver before you handed it back to the gentleman who nodded and tilted his head towards the elevators.
“Y/N, are you sure you want to do this?”
“More than ever.”
“Ok. If for any reason, you get uncomfortable or scared, tell me and I’ll—”
“Protect me. I know, Steve. Don’t worry. After the month I’ve had, I can handle anything he throws my way.”
When you both finally arrived on the top floor, you took one last long breath and entered his apartment. The smell smacked you in the face immediately, the scent of sweat, alcohol, and blood. His loft was a mess with papers and clothes thrown haphazardly everywhere. There was a chair placed in the middle of the living room with dried stains of his last victim underneath.
What killed you was the photos strewn along his coffee table of a young Eddie with his mother with a big smile painting his face.
The man himself was in his kitchen with a seeming calm demeanor as he poured himself another glass of whiskey. Wearing only his black sweats, you were able to see that his bruises and burns were all mostly healed.
“I see you DO listen to me sometimes when I talk.”, you start as you gesture towards his chest.
“Is that why you’re here, doc? For a checkup? That usually doesn’t require a police escort.”
“That’s not why we’re here but it’s good to know physically you’re feeling better since you didn’t feel the need to update either of the people who love you.”
“Hm. Well, I’m busy so what the fuck do you both want?”
Steve chuckles beside you but even you can hear the pain hidden underneath.
“Still easy to cast aside huh? Even with us right in front of you.”
“You two have each other and I have my team. You’ll survive.”
“I haven’t seen either of you in over a month.” Eddie’s demeanor falters slightly at your admission giving you slight hope you can reach the man you met before. “Steve said it was a probably a mistake bringing me into your world and like you he left. I get to watch you fall apart all by myself.”
“Is that really why you haven’t reached out to her? To keep her safe?”, the gangster asks.
“Was I wrong? Between your fucking killing spree, detectives accusing me of working with your father—”
“What?”
“Hopper called me in today asking about the most recent deaths and then asked about Steve. The coincidences he sees drew him to that conclusion.”
“Fucking idiot.”
“I know.”, you agree with Eddie. “We want to use that to our advantage though. I was thinking Steve could make Allen believe the same thing.”
Eddie cackled at your suggestion to a mocking degree as he placed his hand on his stomach to control the laughter.
“Oh my god, sweetheart. That is the best joke I’ve heard in a long time.”
“Why? Why would it be so unbelievable for him to work with your father?”
“So you’re going to go undercover, Stevie? You’re going to do what he asks to get him to trust you like murdering innocent people; people like Y/N.”
“I’m not innocent. Not anymore thanks to you two.”, you growl.
“You’d be surprised what I’m capable of after finding out a year of my life was wasted on a man who didn’t fucking love me.”
Again, the gangster’s hardened image faltered, visibly so as his eye lids fluttered and he sauntered backwards to refill his drink.
“You think I didn’t love you?”
“I haven’t heard from you, Edward. After everything I’ve done for you and you just disappear without so much as a fucking goodbye? To be honest, after what I’ve witnessed recently, working for your dad will be a piece of cake since you want to be like him.”
“That shit… doesn’t hurt me anymore. Do you know why?”, he asks as he steps closer to you both. “Because I am better than my father ever was and now everyone else will know that to. If you cross me and align yourself with him, I have an answer for that.” Eddie pulls out his gun and places it under the officer’s chin. “And if you want to go play with his team have at it but if I find you robbing one of MY buildings or killing anyone on MY team, I’ll make an example out of you to.”
It was your turn to laugh as both men glanced your way.
“I don’t mean to laugh but it’s just so cute. Little gangster playing tough like his daddy. God, Eddie, when I first met you, you were a man to be respected. So many people were in your corner because of how you ran this city. Now you’re just this little boy pretending. You became exactly what Allen believed you were…weak.”
Stomping in your direction, his fingers wrapped around your throat as he pushed you back hard against the wall.
“You need to shut your fucking mouth before I do it for you.”
“Yeah? Do it then.”
Something flashes through his eyes then, a mixture of the man you fell in love with and the boy wanting justice against the person who continually hurt him from childhood to now. Releasing his grip, he slowly backed away from you but right as he turned around, you placed your body in front him.
“Come on, Eddie! You said when I met you that you and Steve had tempers that most women couldn’t handle. Well, I can, trust me. I can handle anything after what you both have put me through!”, you huffed as you shoved his chest hard. “What about you, Steve, huh? Or are you as much of a pussy as he is now?!”
The officer knew what you were doing. If you couldn’t engage the gangster, maybe, pushing his partner would entice him enough. His beautiful eyes penetrated yours and you saw the question within them.
Are you sure?
“Please…”
As soon as the words left your mouth, his eyes darkened and you were once again confronted with the version of him you hadn’t seen since he pointed a gun in your face asking you to help the man he loved.
######################
Steve’s feet slammed loudly against the hardwood as he made a beeline your way and grabbed your throat just below your jaw.
“You think we’re pussies, little girl?” When your head tried to turn to see if Eddie was even paying attention, the officer forcefully yanked you closer till his nose was practically touching yours. “No. Don’t look at him. Look at me. I’m asking the fucking question. I said do you think we’re pussies?” Answer. Me.”
“Yes.”, you answered roughly as you clung to his wrist. “You made me believe you loved me. You told me I was safe with you! You lied to me!”
“No.”, Eddie’s rugid tone responded beside you. “We warned you. We kill people. I kill people and don’t even think twice about it. I’m a bad man, sweetheart, raised by an even worse one. This past month I have proven to him and everyone else that I’M now above him. I’m someone to be feared. You should be afraid of me, Y/N.”
You’d be lying if you didn’t say the way he was speaking was scaring you but you tried to keep your resolve.
“I’m not.”
“You will be.” Abruptly, he shoved you to the sofa and climbed on top of you. You fought against him, your hand connecting to his face hard before he returned the favor and pinned your wrists above your head. After pushing your legs open with his knee, he rolled his hips allowing his hardening cock to rub against your pant covered core through his sweats.
Even with all the layers, he ground himself in just the right way to hit your clit making you groan.
“Eddie.”
“Fuck, that’s it, little whore. Moan my name.”
Fingers appeared above you and you glanced up to see Steve leaning to lift your shirt while the gangster took the opportunity to yank off your pants blocking his way. After pushing down his sweats enough to free his length, he maneuvered up your body till he was hovering over your face.
“Open.” You try and push against his hold on your hands but he doesn’t relent. “Open. Now.”
When you do what he commands, he mercilessly guides his cock between your parted lips. The sound of your gags mixes with his grunts as he thrusts his hips.
“Goddamn it. That’s right, Y/N. We trained you good. Fuck. Breathe…breathe through your nose—”
When his voice cut off, you opened your eyes to see both men passionately kissing each other above you. Steve’s face softened for a moment as if he was glad to be able to taste the man he loved again before remembering everything he had been through as well.
“Look at you, baby. Being in charge…just like your father…a ruthless killer.”
“I’m better than he—mmm—ever was.”
“Oh, yeah? Show me. Show me what better looks like.” Eddie’s palm curled around the back of Steve’s neck and in return the officer leaned his forehead against his. “Come on, honey. You’re someone to be feared now, right? Show me. You already showed me you don’t love me; that you could use me. Use me again.”
At the accusation, the gangster tackled the other man to the ground and pinned his arms to the floor as you coughed, panting trying to catch your breath. You watched as they wrestled each other before Eddie flipped him onto his stomach, reached underneath him to unbuckle his belt, and pull down his pants to his ankles.
The sound they both made when Eddie guided his cock inside of him was a mixture of passion and pain. The pain of them missing how the other felt but the euphoria of being able to feel them again. You slid down to the floor, placing yourself beside them and tenderly ran your fingers through Steve’s hair as he moaned while the gangster slammed into him roughly.
Eddie’s breath warmed the back of your hand as he laid down flat on the other man’s back and rolled his hips as he clung to his chest.
“This is…who I am…Steven. Who—fuck—who I have to…be.”
The officer shook his head as his own fingers above his head squeaked as he dragged them along the floor beneath him.
“Excuses… Y-You’re afraid.”
“What the fuck do I have to be afraid of.”, Eddie grumbled in his ear.
“…Dad.”
The gangster delivered a couple of hard thrusts that had a high-pitched whine leaving Steve’s lips.
“I’m NOT afraid of Allen Munson.”
“No, you’re not.”, you clarified. “You’re afraid of your dad. You’re afraid of the man that hurt your mother and called you both weak. The man who sent adults after a child to jump him after school. Who hurt and tortured a little boy for not being what he deemed as perfect.”
Eddie’s rhythm slowed to almost a stop while he listened to you speak. His long hair was blocking his face but you could tell you were getting through.
“A coward who abandoned his only son with his brother to manage a gang of men who cared even less about his child than he did.”
A broken sob left his throat as he pushed off Steve and leaned his back against the couch. You crawled towards him, climbed into his lap, and pushed his hair back with your fingers as you kissed his forehead.
“Baby, you’re not that same little boy. You have more control now than you think and that scares him.”, you whispered as he wrapped his arms around you and held you tightly to him. “That’s why he did what he did, Eddie. You’re stronger than he will ever be so he had to make you feel like a child again. Don’t let him win. Don’t become him.”
When Steve sat up and laid his head on the man’s shoulder, he turned and smashed his lips messily to his.
“I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry. I do love you, Steve. I never once used you or Y/N. It killed me not having either one of you next to me. I’m sorry. I love you to, Y/N.”
Steve’s hands suddenly gripped your waist as he laid you back down on the floor and ran his cock through your folds before guiding himself into your cunt. Amber eyes locked with your own when he felt ring laced hands land on his shoulder and he grunted loudly as Eddie slid into the man above you again.
Your legs tried to wrap around them both as they pumped their hips. Steve fell against your body as his cock hit every sensitive nerve inside you, building you up as you ran your nails through his hair and down his back.
“I’m s-sorry, honey, for—mmm—for hurting you. I love you, Y/N.”
“Cum, Steve. I need to feel it.”
His pace hastened, his ass pushing back into Eddie who groaned and his length pushing deep into you. The sound of his heavy pants in your ear had you clenching around him till you came and he quickly followed, moaning your name as he warmed your walls with his release. With a few more rough thrusts, the gangster grunted as he spilled into his partner before collapsing on the floor beside you.
As soon as Steve pulled out of you, both men’s eyes followed you as you rose to your feet and headed to the kitchen to a get a rag to clean yourself. Coming back into the living room with a bottle of water, you threw on your shirt and panties as they quietly put on their boxers.
“So, Steve and I were thinking that he could pretend to work for your father so we could him in front of you on your own terms so to speak.”
When you spoke your tone calm but there was a shake behind it you prayed they didn’t hear. As a doctor you were trained to hold it together under pressure. This was no different.
“You can do whatever you want; torture him, kill him, I don’t fucking care. Whatever gets him to leave us alone. After that you can stop all this chaos and I can go back to my own life.”
“Alone?”, Eddie asked.
When you didn’t responded, their gaze shifted towards you just in time to see your eyes glaze over and your bottom lip tremble. The gangster kneeled in front of you, taking your hands in his.
“You left me… I wanted you to stay but… you left…”
“I know. I know, sweetheart and I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you; both of you. You were right. I became that little boy again and just…”
“How many people have you killed in this last month, Eddie?”
His Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows in fear knowing you won’t like his answer.
“Me personally or my team?”
“Jesus Christ.”, Steve sighs as he rubs his palms over his eyes. “My department clocked a total of 23 men. Three of them cops. How many were by your hand, Ed?”
“Eight were killed by me but I tortured them all for information.”, he answers flatly as his eyes remained locked on yours. “Those eight knew about Y/N or you, Steve. Pat Chase, a lawyer for a few of the gang members around town had pictures in his suitcase of you in your cruiser and Y/N…crying behind her clinic. Calvin Thomas, junior police officer at Steve’s station, threatened to murder a couple of your patients including that little girl with asthma. Mason Fletcher, manager at one of the local mechanic stores and a friend who I helped when his wife passed away, said when Steve’s chief sent the cars for a tune up, he planned to tamper with the brakes.”
Eddie’s jaw tightened as he continued.
“I remember each and every one of them still. Out of those 23 people, ten of them were people I trusted and do you know who commands them? Allen Munson. This is the kind of man they follow even after everything. Y/N what you’re suggesting is very dangerous but even more so because… I don’t know if I could follow through with killing him if given the chance.”
“What if you don’t have to kill him but we can still separate him from his allies. Cut the head off the snake.”
They listen as you speak, allowing the details to sink in before agreeing with what you have in mind. Taking his hand in yours, you start to head towards the stairs to guide him to his bed but are tugged back when he doesn’t move.
“You never answered my question. When this is over…will we be over?” When your gaze shifts to the floor, Eddie wraps his arm around your waist and brings you closer to him as he leans his forehead on your own. “I understand if you want to leave but if you stay, Y/N, I promise I will do whatever it takes to make sure you never feel alone or hurt like that again. I love you so much. I’m so sorry.”
Your lips meet his as hug him tightly to your body while he continues to whisper apologies.
“I’ll stay, Eddie. I forgive you.”
After the gangster prepared a bath and slowly placed you in the water, he paused when he noticed Steve’s moving was a bit more rigid than he normally is. Rising to his feet, he scanned the man over.
“Steve, are you ok, sweetheart? Did I…was I…too rough?”
Shaking his head, the officer carefully climbed in behind you before taking you in his arms and pulling you against his chest.
“I forgive you to, Steve Harrington.”, you murmur as you lean back to kiss his cheek.
Placing a finger under his chin, Eddie tilts his head till Steve’s eyes meet his.
“I’m sorry, baby. I—”
“It’s ok, honey. I’m just…sore…and tired. I missed you both.”
The three of you sat there in silence fully absorbing the events of the last month and how things were about to get a lot harder. As you were being dried, your fingers ran over Eddie’s remaining bruises and burns.
“I’ve still been doing what you said, keeping the wounds iced and clean.”
“They look a lot better.”
Steve passed by you both and placed himself on the edge of the bed as he pulled his shirt over his head. The other man kneeled in front of him and took his hands into his own.
“My Paladin. You do so much for me and yet I pushed you to the side. This past year, I’ve been the happiest I’ve ever been and not because you help me with my organization but because you loved me for me, Steve. You don’t see a gangster or a Munson. You always saw Eddie.”
The officer’s eyes water as a heavy breath escapes him.
“This will never happen again, baby. I promise.”, the other man coos as he straddles his lap and circles his arms around him and you watch with a small smile while they cling to each other. “I love you. I missed you so much.”
“I missed you to, nerd.”
When they finally detached, they laid down in bed, reaching for you and putting you between them.
“Are you sure you want to go through with your plan, Y/N? It’s not going to be easy…for you or Steve.”
You nod as you tenderly reach out to caress his face and fold the officer’s hand that’s resting on your hip.
“I’m sure.”
########################
Three Days Later
Allen grunts in frustration as he steps up to the glass partition and throws his body into the chair across from the man he believes to be his son’s best friend.
“Mr. Harrington, how can I help you today? Any friend of my son is no friend of mine.”, he says all too casually as he chuckles under his breath.
“Yeah, well, I’m not your son’s friend anymore.”, Steve growled in anger. “He took something that belonged to me. I warned him but that fucker didn’t care.”
“Oh? What did he take?”
“Y/N.”
Allen’s eyes widened in amusement as he crossed his legs and leaned back in his chair.
“Jesus. This woman must be fucking special. How did she end up with him and not you?”
“I saw her first when she helped me at her clinic. After Eddie was hurt, I took him there so she could help him to. I didn’t expect it to become romantic. I told that fucker I loved her and she was mine but he still went after her. I did everything I could to split them up but, unfortunately, she’s loyal.”
“Hm. Sounds like my wife; weak. So what exactly do you want, officer?”
“It’s not so much what I want but what you do. I want to help you take Eddie out of the game.”
Allen laughed as well as a few of the guards who could hear the conversation.
“You want to help me? Why don’t you just arrest him again and bring him in?”
“On what? All the charges we have aren’t sticking and even though he’s running around killing your people, he’s not leaving anything incriminating behind.” At Steve’s mention of the men he was losing, the prisoner grumbled low as he glared at him. “He’s going to keep coming at you till either all your people are dead or he is. I can help you, Allen.”
The man thinks for a long moment before smirking his way.
“How do I know I can trust you? How do I know this isn’t something my son conjured up.”
“Well, one, Eddie isn’t that fucking smart and two, I did something you haven’t been able to in almost 2 months.”
“Yeah, Harrington, and what’s that?”
“I killed Y/N.”
Allen’s head tilts as he tries to hide his shock at the officer’s statement as the other man smirks his way.
“How’d you do that?”
“I slit her throat in his apartment.”, Steve answered as his smile grew. “You should have heard the way Eddie cried over her. That’s what that selfish asshole gets. She was mine.”
No longer amused, the prisoner leaned on his elbows and met the officer’s angry expression with one of his own.
“I don’t believe you.”
A loud thump filled the area as Steve smacked a Polaroid picture against the glass.
“I thought you might say that. She’s buried next to his mother if you want to go look. Oh wait…”, he teases sarcastically as he gestures to the prison.
Loud shouting startles the guards as a door flies open just in time for Eddie’s father to see them tackling Wayne to the ground.
“What the fuck did you do, Allen!? She was a good woman and you took her away from him! You fucking asshole! Get off me!”
“Self-righteous prick.” Allen thinks for a moment as he fully takes in the man in front of him. “Ok, Steven. Ok, I may have some use for you.”

I don't want to bother you, but can you please do one for Eddie where reader is really clumsy? Like, she trips on her on foot, loses balance and falls even when just standing still, always has bruises all over her body because she is simply an air-head and ends up hitting her face on a closed door, her knee on the corner of the table and falling in all the stupidest ways possible.
Bambi. Clumsy!Reader x Eddie Munson. Fluff. Blurb.
(You’re never bothering me. I love writing your requests! I hope this is okay!<3)
“You okay there Bambi? You’re walking like you’re on wheels, need a hand?” Eddie teases, chuckling as you clasp your arm around his. He’s not the strongest of guys but his arm does offer you support. You’re clumsy, always have been. Your dad used to say you ran before you learnt how to walk, that you’d never really been able to stand upright on your own two feet without wobbling. He wasn’t wrong. Your parents had gotten you tested for dyspraxia, but the test results came back negative. Put simply, you were just a klutz, in medical terms? You’re just a little unbalanced.
“I know, I know.” You sigh, lifting your pants up to your thighs, letting the air brush against your shins. “Look at my legs Teddy, three new ones and a grazed knee” Muttering the last of your words under your breath, ‘three new ones’ refers to the three bruises scattered across your right shin. Eddie has a tendency to draw lines around your bruised skin and make the blue-yellowish stains look like Saturn, sometimes drawing smiley faces of the Nirvana logo.
He peered down, analysing the new shiners. “Seriously, you gotta be more careful. We’ve spoken about this before, eyes where you’re going, not where you were.” He exaggerated, speaking in a sing-song tone as he chuckles again. “Remember that time you ran face first into the glass door when we were kids? You split your lip and I cried because you were bleeding. Wayne had to deal with you bleeding on carpet and I was in hysterics because I was so sure you were gonna die. From a split lip no less.” Eddie’s mouth twitches up into a smirk as he begins to let out a full belly laugh. He screws his face up, as bubbly giggles escape him lips from reminiscing, “yeah, Wayne said you felt the pain for me cus I didn’t shed a single tear.” You confessed, joining Eddie in the melody of laughter.
“What can I say? I’m weak for a damsel in distress.” Eddie tilts his head and bows theatrically, standing up and opening the top cupboard. He places his box full of first aid supplies from the medicine cupboard onto the floor, opening up the first aid kit. “Let’s get this graze cleaned up shall we? Can’t leave it, will get infected and puss will spurt out. Will be so gross.” He speaks, pouring antiseptic liquid onto a clean rag. “Okay! Okay, I know.” You chime in, clearly disturbed by the imagery. “Just be gentle Eds, please.” You pout a little, hiding behind your hands.
“You know me Bambi, I have magic hands. I’m practically your personal nurse.” Eddie joked, gently patting the rag over your grazed skin being sure to wipe out any dirt and debris. “Hands of an old woman more like.” You tease, stifling your giggles from behind your hands, not wanting to see your wound.
“If you say so, but so you know. I’ll always be here to patch you up. Our little klutz.” He smiles, beaming from ear to ear. Choosing to ignore your cheeky comment, because “you’ve been in the wars.” He gently slaps a band aid over your kneecap and rubs his palm over it to make sure it sticks to you properly. Eddie leans over and pries your hands apart so he can see your face properly. “All done. You’re all fixed up.” He sighs, rubbing his hand over your cheek.
“Thanks Eds, good time to mention I’ve decided to take up ice skating?” You giggle, watching his face drop into the most shocked expression you’ve ever seen. “Kidding!” You tease, throwing yourself at his chest and starting to wrestle each other on Wayne’s living room floor. You are always gonna be looked after by Eddie, your chosen big brother.

🐆🐻✨CHAPTER 3: SUNNY SIDE OF THINGS✨🐻🐆
Tumblr media
Note: Stuffs been going wild so I posted this WAYY later than I wanted, but I hope you guys still enjoy!
Percy reaches for her keys and opens the door, turning on the lights to her apartment. They flickered to life and illuminated the space. The sisters both looked inside, it was a pretty nice looking place all things considered.
A small living room to the left with a tv, an open kitchen to the right, and what appears to be a mini hallway leading to three doors infront of them. Percy’s home had a nice dull blue wallpaper covering mostly everything. Molly looked at a clock on the wall, 10PM. Way past her bedtime at this point.
“You two need some rest, we can discuss the layout of my apartment and other things in the morning. Are you two sure you don’t wish to take my room for the night?”
“Sleeping in someone elses room is weird.” Lorelai said, crossing her arms as she looked around.
“Yeah, we can take the couch or the floor. We don’t really mind! I promise!” Molly smiled apologetically, Lori rolled her eyes.
Percy nods. “Alright, please go ahead and sit down. I will go ahead to get some pillows and blankets for you two.” She smiles at them, then leaves the room.
Molly waits for Percy to be completely gone, then lets out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. She sits down on the couch, then grabs her phone from her pocket. Molly opens the group chat she has with her friends, and starts typing.
—————
Molly: Hi guys, anyone still awake?
PHANTOM OF POTIONS PAST, GRIMLORD OF DARKNESS!: HIIII! Yes I am indeed awake >:]
Molly: Oh, hi Trixie! I’m assuming Feenie’s asleep cause it’s her bedtime?
PoPPGoD: Yeahh probably! Why are you up so late anyway? Did something happen?
Molly: Yeah, my dad got arrested.
PoPPGoD: WOOOOOOO!
Molly: Trixie…
PoPPGoD: Oh whoops, sorry- what happened?
Molly: The cop that interviewed me a bit ago about the museum apparently found out about my situation and took me and Lori in. Currently in her apartment right now.
PoPPGoD: I dont trust them coppers… but as long as ur OK, im OK! >:D
Molly: Thanks Trixie… I’ll see if I can go more indepth on what happened tomorrow at school. I’m getting sleepy.
PoPPGoD: Oke, sweet dreams!
Molly: Night!
—————
Molly leans back into the sofa, then smiles. Hopefully she’ll be able to go to school tomorrow and talk to them.
“I’m back, apologies for the wait.” Percy walks in holding several pillows and blankets, all in mostly blues, yellows, and whites.
“Dibs on the couch!” Lorelai said, grabbing some pillows and immediately making herself comfortable. Her knight costume poofed out of existence in a flash of glitter into her normal outfit.
“But- aw, fine...” Molly sighed in defeat, standing up from the couch.
Oh well, the floor is probably fine. Considering it’s Percy she probably keeps it pretty clean. Theres a rug too so maybe it’s a bit comfier..? It takes a few minutes for Molly to finally get to a comfortable enough position to lay down.
“Goodnight, you two.”
“Goodnight, Percy!”
“…Night.”
And with that, Percy turns off the lights and goes to her room. Immediately falling asleep when she lays down in bed. The noise of the city melting together into a cacophany of sounds that were oddly comforting, she’s probably gonna take a few days off from work to help the two adjust.
Percy should wake up early tomorrow, her usual breakfast was just toast and some water but these two probably needed more food than that. Maybe something like cereal? No, far too sugary. She wasn’t even sure if she had anything like that. Toast, water, orange juice, eggs-
Wait, eggs?
There was a smell of something being cooked from the kitchen, Percy stirred and opened her eyes. Oh dear, it was morning already? She looks at her alarm clock. 5:40 AM. How peculiar, she gets up from her bed and puts on her slippers to investigate.
Percy walked into the living room, the pillows and blankets were folded neatly and placed on the coffee table. While the couch where Lorelai was sleeping had an… iridescent bubble in its place.
It clipped into the floor and couch as if it was a bugged model in a video game. She stared in utter confusion for a bit before a voice from the kitchen piped up.
“Morning Percy!” Molly said, holding a pan. Why was she making breakfast?
Percy flinched, completely forgetting that she got up to see who was awake this early. “Ah! Good morning to you too, Molly.” Percy turns to her and gestures to the bubble. “May I ask why your sister has turnt into a sphere?”
“Oh, it’s just an epithet thing.” Molly puts the pan in the sink. “Lorelai can make these things called ‘dream bubbles’ where she makes these fantasy worlds, sometimes she just sleep-inscribes.”
“I see… Why are you up so early?”
“Oh! Well… I wanted to repay you for letting us stay here so I thought I should make breakfast!” Molly points at the table. There was buttered toast and eggs, either boiled or sunnyside up. “We should probably go get groceries and stuff, there wasn’t a lot in your fridge to work with…”
“Noted. But thank you for this, Molly.” Percy goes to sit down, then picks up a boiled egg and inspects it closely. “So, about your sister…”
“Don’t worry, I can go wake her up.” Molly looks at the bubble for a second, then walks over to the couch.
Percy watches in curiosity, she knew Molly and Lorelai had epithets from their files. “DUMB” and “AUGMENT” respectively, but she’s never seen it in action. Percy watched as Molly knocked on the bubble for a few seconds, calling Lorelais name repeatedly to wake her up. After a few minutes she rolled her eyes, reaching her hand out as a small green glow appeared.
Molly moved her hand closer to the iridescent surface and a hole appeared like a rift in the air. Slowly the gap grew bigger until it was about the size of Molly herself. She entered the bubble and the hole dissapeared along with her.
Percy decided to go and make some coffee while she waited since she still felt a bit tired from last night, more and more time passes and… POOF!
The detective turnt around, alarmed at the sudden sound. Then there stood a groggy Lorelai and a mildly upset Molly.
“Good morning, Lorelai!” Percy said, grabbing her drink without looking and returning to the small dining table. Honestly you probably couldn’t even consider it a dining table, more like a table for one that crammed three chairs.
“Yeah, morning.” Lorelai wiped away the fog from her eyes, then quietly went over to the table grabbing a plate. Molly followed.
“I decided to go ahead and work from home while you two get settled here.” Percy takes a sip of coffee. “Since you two have school I will be responsible for your education for the time being.”
“Me and Lorelai usually change between having to work and having to go to school. I attend school on odd days and she attends school on even ones so that means-”
“You have to go to school and I get to stay here and relax!” Lorelai interrupts her and grins, Molly scowls at her.
Percy thinks for a second, she never thought the situation was this bad. Who on earth would let a child work instead of attend school!? Oh wait, Martin would. “I… suppose we can still use this system, even for just a few days as you two adjust.” She smiles. “And since I’m not very well acquainted with Miss Lorelai, then perhaps we can use this as a bonding opportunity!”
The three of them continue talking. Percy explaining the layout of the house, the chores, and potentially getting the two of them a room to share, more and more time passes till they all finish and go do their own thing.
Lorelai made another bubble in the corner of the living room, Percy did the dishes, and Molly got ready for school.
Molly already had her schoolwork in her backpack, so she had no need to go back to the emporium to retrieve her things. That was nice! She sat at the couch waiting, when Percys voice piped up.
“Are you ready for school?” Percy asked, walking up to Molly.
“Uh, yeah! Are you gonna drive me there?”
“No need, your public school is conveniently just a short jog away from my apartment! If you count 20 minutes short, I mean.” The detective held up a metal lunchbox, it had the SJPD logo on the center, so that probably meant it belonged to Percy. “I’ve also taken the time to go ahead and make you some lunch.”
“Really..?” Molly walked up to the lunch box and grabbed it from Percys hand, staring at it. “Theres… Really no need to do that, I usually just ask my friends or buy some stuff at the cafeteria.”
“I personally do not think the cafeteria food they serve is enough for a childs daily diet.” Percy explains. “You can just think of it as a thank-you for making breakfast.” She smiled.
Molly stopped staring at the lunchbox realizing that was probably weird, then turns to Percy to smile at her too.
“Well then, I’ll go ahead and drop you off at school. I’m assuming your sister will be fine if I leave her for a few minutes?”
“She can last in bubbles for hours, she’ll be fine.” Molly explains.
And then the two of them leave the apartment. The streets here were much, much louder than Molly expected. She covers her ears as she walked, which Percy took note of. More time passes and Percy drops off Molly at school.
Molly waved goodbye at her as she walked away when a sudden jingling bell sound grew closer and closer until-
“MOLLY!!!”
Phoenica Fleecity and Trixie Roughhouse hugged Molly as tight as they could, which was less bone-crushing and more soft and fluffy due to Feenie. “Trixie told me everything! We’re so glad you’re okay!”
“She did?” Oh right, Molly sent a message to the group chat.
“Really happy that dad of yours is outta the picture now!” Trixie said, grinning.
“Haha, yeah. I am too…” Molly hugged them both back, the hug lasted for a few seconds before the bell rang.
“…How about I tell you guys everything when lunch comes around?” Molly asked.
“Oh sure! Stay safe Molly!” Phoenica smiled even harder then let go of both of them, walking off to her class.
“You do too…”
“…So did Lorelai get arrested too?” Trixie piped up.
“Trixie!” She playfully shoved them with an elbow. “Don’t be like that!”
“Yeah yeah, I know! Just checkin!”

Master List

So much love and thanks to @cheynovak for the idea. ♥️ All work is my own. No disrespect to anyone, this is a work of fiction. Real names are used, but again this is a work of fiction. Sorry the 1st part is so long, just setting up the story.  Do not take my work
Minors DNI 18+
“I already told you, we are through. I can’t keep doing this with you. I feel like I’m banging my head against the ceiling and anytime I talk to you about it, you tell me I’m overreacting or you ask me some bullshit like is it that time of the month. Who the fuck does that? I’m done, Alex.”
“Please, Y/N, don’t throw away 4 years over a little disagreement.” You scoffed, “A little disagreement?! Is that what you call it? No, fuck that. All I did was bring up marriage and you acted like I asked you to rob a bank or something. We’ve been together 4 years, we live together, was it really too much to ask when we might get married? I want to get married, have children. All the things you said you wanted too. I guess you lied just to get me to move in with you.”
You stormed into your bedroom, grabbed a suitcase and started packing. Grabbing clothes, toiletries and other important things and throwing them in the suitcase. You were beyond pissed. Alex walked in the bedroom, “Come on, you’re not really leaving. You’re just pissed and throwing a tantrum.” “Fuck you, Alex!”
Pushing past him you went into the living room and grabbed family pictures and stuffed them into your bag. You took the apartment key off your key ring and placed it on the counter. “I told you, I’m done.” You grabbed your stuff and walked out, closing the door behind you.
Loading up your car you just drove. You had no idea where you were going, but you needed to get away. After hours on the road, you pulled into a little diner that had a hotel near it. It wasn’t the biggest, fanciest hotel, but you were exhausted.
Climbing out of the car you went to the office of the hotel. Ringing the bell a sweet older lady came out and greeted you with a smile. “Howdy, young lady. Do you need a room?” “Yes, ma’am. If you have any available.” “Yes, darlin’ I have a few left. Is it just you?” “Yes, ma’am, it’s just me.” She had you fill out the guestbook and handed you the key. “Why don’t you head next door and grab a bite to eat. You looked starved.” She smiled sweetly at you. You nodded, thanked her and left.
You grabbed your bag and headed to your room. Unlocking the door you noticed it was a typical hotel room, but it was clean and looked well taken care of. You put your bag down and laid on the bed. It was so comfortable, you could just fall asleep right then.
Your stomach grumbled, so you decided to check out the diner. Grabbing your purse and jacket, you stepped outside and walked towards the diner. When you entered, a bell above the door rang and you were greeted by the waitress, “Howdy, just sit anywhere you’d like.” You nodded and took a seat in the booth near the back.
The waitress who greeted you walked over and smiled, “Hey hon, what can I get you to drink?” She asked as she handed you the menu. “I’ll have water with lemon, please.” “Sure thing, hon. Take your time and I’ll be back.” You looked over the menu and because you were so hungry everything looked so good. You decided on a burger and fries, just keeping it simple.
The waitress, Cindy, came back with your water, “Do you know what you want?” “Yes, ma’am, I’ll have a cheeseburger with fries please.” “Anything else?” “No, that’s it, thank you.” “Okay, coming right up.” She walked away and put in your order.
Everyone here seems so nice. It’s a nice place too. Out in the country, far away from the city, and away from Alex. I wonder if anyone here is hiring.
“Excuse me, Cindy?” Cindy walked over to you, “Yes, honey, do you need anything?” “Yeah, I’m new to the area, kinda relocating here. Do you know anyone that’s hiring or anyone that has a room to rent?” “Well, the only person I know of off the top of my head that’s hiring is Ackles’ Ranch. They have a live in ranch hand position they are trying to fill. Have you ever worked on a Ranch, honey?” “No, I haven’t, but I’m a fast learner.”
“I tell you what, I’ll give Jensen a call and tell him to be expecting you tomorrow morning. Maybe he would be willing to give you a trial basis.” “Oh my goodness, thank you so much.” “You’re welcome sweetie, now eat up.” She set your food down in front of you.
You ate your food, paid your bill and thanked her again. Cindy gave you the address and phone number for the Ranch and told you Jensen, Mr. Ackles was expecting you tomorrow morning. You took the information and thanked her again. Leaving the diner you went back to your room to shower and get ready for bed.
Excitement coarse through your body. Surely you could handle working on a Ranch, right? After your shower, you climbed into bed and fell asleep quickly. Before too long your alarm was waking you up. Turning it off you got out of bed and started to get dressed. You pulled on jeans, a t-shirt, and your boots. Grabbing the Ranch information, your purse and your keys, you headed to your car.
Your body tingled with anticipation as you drove towards the address. After about 30 minutes, your car pulled up to two large, wrought iron gates, one with a large “A” and the other with a large “R” on it. A small sign to the side said “Ackles Ranch”. You buzzed the call box and waited.
“Hello, can I help you?”, a voice came over the speaker. “Yes, hello, my name is Y/N, Cindy called Mr. Ackles and he’s expecting me.” “Okay, come on in.” The gates opened, and you drove up the long driveway.
Finally arriving at the main house, you were taken back by how beautiful it was. You parked your car and stepped out. As you turned to look around the beautiful land, you saw a man riding up to you on a horse. The horse was breathtaking, chestnut colored coat, well taken care of, and the rider was just as breathtaking. He hopped off and the first thing you noticed was his piercing green eyes.
The man walked over to you, his legs slightly bowed, but he was tall and broad shoulders. You bit your lip. His jeans hugged him in all the right places, and his shirt stretched across his chest like it was clinging on him for dear life. His biceps, large, peaked out the bottom of the sleeves. He had sandy brown hair, and a beard that was perfectly shaped. He was absolutely breathtaking.
The man extended his hand, “Good mornin’, my name is Jensen, you must be Y/N. Miss Cindy told me you’d be coming.” You shook his hand, “Yes, hi, I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you, Jensen.”
As soon as you shook his hand, 3 adorable children came bounding out of the house, “Daddy! You’re back!” He dropped to his knees and hugged the children. It melted your heart and made you smile. His son looked at you, “Daddy, who’s she?” Jensen looked up at you and introduced you to his children. “It’s so nice to meet you guys.” You smiled at them.
The kids went to play, as Jensen led you in the house to talk. During the conversation you learned he was a widower and he and his late wife had started the ranch when they got married. He has all sorts of animals, but the ones you would be in charge of the most were his children. You laughed when he said that. He smirked at you, thankful you had a sense of humor. “Now I’m gonna be honest with you, I need help around the ranch, but I also need help with the kids. Do you have any experience with either?” “Well, I grew up in the city, so I’m not too familiar with duties on a Ranch, but I did a lot of babysitting. When my mom would go away on business I would be responsible for my younger siblings. They are 8 and 9 years younger than me. I would feed them, get them to school, wash clothes and clean the house, while mom was gone. I might not know much about animal care, but I’m a fast learner.”
“Well, what about family, or a husband? Will they be okay with you living here with me and the kids? The position comes with a room too.” I haven’t lived at home for a few years, and I’m not married, no boyfriend either.” Jensen nodded, “well, Y/N, I’m willing to give you a shot, what do you think?” “I’d love to. I can’t promise I’ll be perfect, but I’m always willing to learn.” “That’s all I ask. Now, let me show you the Ranch and your room.”
The two of you stood up and you followed him outside. He jumped in a truck and told you to hop in. He drove to the biggest barn first and showed you the horses, then he drove to the smaller barns and you saw the other animals. The land was huge.
Jensen drove further back on the property to a huge lake. “This is our favorite spot. The kids love to swim here, but they know not to come near this without an adult.” “It’s beautiful, Jensen.” You smiled softly.
A little while later, you and Jensen arrived back at the house. He introduced you to the small staff in the house, and formally introduced you to his kids. They were excited you were staying. He took you on a tour of the house and showed you the kitchen, dining room, the kids’ rooms, his room, and the last room he stopped at was your new room.
He pushed the door open and stepped to the side, letting you walk in. You gasped softly. This room was practically bigger than your last apartment. “So you have your own private bathroom too. I hope this room is to your liking. If you find you need anything, let me know.” “Jensen, the room is perfect, you have an amazing home, thank you.” Jensen smiled softly and nodded, “I’ll let you get settled. Clif already brought your stuff up. Lunch will be ready in about half an hour. I hope you will join us.” You nodded, and he left.
You explored the room. There was a large walk-in closet, a king sized bed in the center of the room, with tables on either side, a matching dresser and chest. On the opposite wall you noticed two large glass doors. You walked over, unlocked them and stepped out on the balcony. You noticed two chairs. The view was breathtaking. It overlooked the backyard, and you noticed the kids outside playing. Jensen’s son looked up seeing you, smiled and waved. You smiled and waved back.
Stepping back into the room, you decided to unpack. Walking into the bathroom you looked around, not believing this was really your bathroom. It was just as beautiful as the bedroom. It featured a double vanity, a stand up shower with glass doors and a separate soaker tub. The floor was a beautiful tile that could be heated. You were in complete awe of this room.
You had finished unpacking and as you sat down on the bed your phone rang. Looking at the screen you saw it was Alex. You sighed and answered. “Hello, Alex.” “Y/N, baby, I’m sorry. Please come home. We can get married, have babies. Whatever you want.” You let out a long sigh, “Alex, it doesn’t work that way. You don’t want to get married and have children. You made that clear. I’ve waited and never pushed. You knew when we got together that’s what I wanted. We talked about it, and you said that’s what you wanted too.”
The line was silent, “Baby, I do want to get married and have kids. I just wanted to be selfish and keep you to myself for a while longer. I love you, Y/N. I don’t want to live without you.” Silent tears started falling from your eyes. You still loved Alex, he was the man you’d wanted to have children with, but he broke your heart. You took a breath, “I know you do Alex, but that’s still not enough. I need to go, I’m expected back at work. Good bye, Alex.”
You hung up and sat on the bed and cried. A soft knock on the door pulled you back to reality. You wiped your face and stood up, walking over you opened the door, and Jensen was standing there. His face instantly fell when he noticed you’d been crying. “Y/N, are you okay?” “Yeah, sorry. I'm just dealing with some personal stuff. I promise it won’t affect my job.” He placed his hand on your upper arm, “Hey, it’s okay. We all have things we have to deal with. I’m here if you need to talk.” His hand on your arm sent goosebumps all over your body. You took a deep breath, “Thank you, Jensen. I appreciate it.” You offered him a soft smile. “Okay, I came up here to let you know lunch was ready if you were hungry.” “Yeah, that sounds perfect.”
You followed Jensen to the dining room and found his children already eating. He motioned for you to sit down, he pulled your chair out and you sat down. Jensen took the seat at the head of the table, opposite of you. Lunch was filled with excited chatter, the kids asking you questions, trying to get to know you, and you answered them as quickly as they were asked.
Jensen spoke up, “Guys, let Y/N eat. You have plenty of time to get to know her. You three need to finish eating too. You have chores to finish.” Jensen’s son looked over at you, “Miss Y/N, do you have any kids?” Before you could answer Jensen spoke up, “Zep, what did I just say?” He looked at his father and hung his head. You softly touched Zep’s arm, “No, I don’t, but I’d like to have some one day.” You smiled at him and looked up at Jensen, who offered you a soft smile.
After lunch was done, the kids cleared their plates and you walked into the kitchen. You weren’t sure if your duties included washing the dishes, but it was something you were used to, so you filled the sink with water.
Jensen walked in the kitchen and saw you at the sink. He smiled to himself, and he felt his heart warm a little. “Hey, Y/N, you don’t have to wash those. I was about to do it.” You looked over at him, his piercing green eyes looking into your y/e/c eyes. Your breath hitched. “Well, how about I wash and you rinse.” You smiled at him, and he nodded.
There was a slightly uncomfortable silence that filled the room. Jensen cleared his throat, “I appreciate you answering the kids’ questions. They can be relentless. If you ever get uncomfortable with their questions, just tell them to chill.” “They are fine Jensen, kids are naturally curious, and I’m fine with sharing my life with them.” He nodded and smiled.
The two of you finished washing the dishes and he showed you where everything went. Once the kitchen was done, Jensen told you to feel free to explore and relax.
Deciding to just explore the house you walked into the family room and noticed all the pictures on the walls. You saw pictures of Jensen and the kids, pictures of other people, whom you assumed to be the rest of the family, and then you saw pictures of a young, beautiful woman. Her smile was bright and her eyes sparkled.
You realized this was Jensen’s wife. There were pictures of their wedding day, pictures of her holding the kids and family pictures of the 5 of them. You never asked Jensen what happened to his wife, you just knew she had died.
You were too busy looking at the pictures to notice Jensen standing in the doorway watching you. “Her name was Danneel, we called her Dee.” Jensen said as you picked up a picture of his wife. You jumped a little, “She’s beautiful.” You smiled at him.
“Yeah, she was beautiful, inside and out. We miss her so much, especially Zep. He was a mama’s boy.” “I’m so sorry, Jensen. If you don’t mind me asking, what happened?” Jensen sighed and you could hear the shake in his breath. “It was just a terrible accident. She was climbing a ladder, trying to put something up in the horse barn, she slipped, fell and hit her head. I was gone into town to get supplies and by the time I got home and found her, she was gone. The twins were 4 and JJ was 7.” You touched Jensen’s arm, “I am so sorry, Jensen. That sounds awful.” A tear slipped out of his eye, and he quickly wiped it away. “Thank you, Y/N. It’s been a rough few years, but every day it gets a little easier. I know the pain will never go away, and some days it’s harder than others, but she gave me 3 amazing children and for that I’m grateful.”
“They are great kids, and have an amazing father too.” You smiled at Jensen and sat on the couch. He took a seat beside you. The two of you sat and talked the rest of the afternoon, getting to know each other and you learned how he ended up on such a gorgeous ranch. “So, Y/N, what brings a city girl to the country, and if you don’t mind me asking, what made you so upset earlier?”
You bit your lip and took a deep breath. Figuring you needed to be honest with him. “Well, my ex Alex and I had been together for 4 years. When we first started dating we both wanted the same thing in the future, marriage and children. The past year I’d brought up marriage and kids a few times and it would always end in a huge fight. I just got tired of waiting and being strung along. So I left. I was upset earlier because he called me, begging me to come back. He said we could get married and have kids. I told him no. It broke my heart. I love him, and saw myself married to him and having his children. Now, it’s over, but I promise it won’t affect my job or ability to take care of your children.”
Jensen grabbed your hand, “I know it won’t. I’m sorry you went through that. For what it’s worth, he’s a fool.” Your eyes shot up to him and he smiled. A blush creeped across your face. No! Don’t you dare. He’s your boss, a widower, and has responsibilities. He’s just being polite and you just went through a breakup. “Thank you, Jensen.”
The rest of the day was uneventful. You played with the kids, and noticed Zep was glued to your side. He was such a sweet boy, and he looked just like Jensen. His sisters were just as sweet, JJ was excited to show you their favorite things to do outside, and Arrow was very reserved when it came to you. She definitely had some walls up. Not that you could blame her.
Later that night after the kids were tucked into bed, Jensen invited you out to the back deck to sit around the fire pit. Before you went outside, you grabbed a throw blanket and your water. As you opened the sliding glass door you noticed Jensen sitting with a glass of whiskey in his hand. The fire burning brightly and the flames casting dancing shadows on his face.
You stepped out and he stood. “Glad you decided to join me.” He smiled as he sat down. “Thanks for inviting me.” You sat down in the chair beside him. You watched as he took a sip of the amber liquid. As he took the small glass up to his mouth, you saw his lips part slightly, and the amber liquid ran into his mouth. You saw him swallow, and his Adam's apple bobbed as the liquid ran down his throat. As he pulled the glass away, you saw his tongue lick his lips slightly. He looked over at you and you quickly looked away.
He smirked as a blush creeped across your face. Jensen grabbed another glass and poured you some, “here, to help take the edge off.” You nodded and took the glass. Jensen lifted his glass to you, “To new beginnings.” He clinked your glass. “To new beginnings.”, you said back to him. You took a sip of the amber liquid and felt the burn down your throat.
*Jensen’s POV*
I can’t believe she accepted the invitation to join me out here tonight. She’s been so great with the kids today, and with me. I really think this is going to work out. She’s definitely guarded, but who can blame her. When she blushes it’s so adorable, especially when I catch her watching me. She’s a very beautiful woman too, and she is so sweet and kind. Damn, her lips on that glass, her tongue licking her lips. Wow! Oh, shit, Jensen, get it together. You’re her boss.
A few hours later, the fire was dying, and you were tired. “Well, Jensen, thank you for a wonderful evening, but I think I’m going to head to bed.” Jensen stood up, “Yeah, thank you for the company. It was nice to have an adult to talk to. Sleep well, Y/N, and if you need anything I’m right down the hall.” You thanked him again and walked in the house. As you entered the kitchen, you turned and looked at him again. He was still standing and ran his fingers through his hair. You sighed and climbed the stairs.
You went to your room, got ready for bed and crawled in the huge bed. Before too long you were drifting off to sleep. For the first time in a long time, you felt like you were exactly where you were supposed to be.

WHAT THE FU- || k. parker
Tumblr media
pairing: kai x vampire!reader
warnings: swearing, kissing, fluff, obsessive!kai (sort of)
summary: y/n is on her way to the sheriff's funeral when she gets an alarming call from alaric...
a/n: hello, so i used the deleted kai and jo scene for this because, let's face it, that scene deserved kai's redemption.
---
I could hear my heels clicking on the pavement as I walked towards my car. My head was currently tilted downward towards my purse as i was trying to dig out my keys. This is why I need to clean out my shit more often. Aha! I finally found them. After about five minutes of digging.
Suddenly, my phone starts ringing. Now I have to dig that out of my purse. Damn this bag. Once I retrieved my phone from my bag, I saw the screen lit up with Alraic's name across it.
"I know, I'm running late. Can you tell Caro-" I start, but was immediately cut off by Alaric.
"y/n, I need you to get over to Jo's place right now." His voice is urgent and I immediately stop right in my tracks.
"Why? Alaric, I need to be at the funeral right now."
"y/n, just get over here! You'll see why I called you when you do." I didn't know what to do with that. I didn't want to disappoint Caroline by not being there, but Alaric sounds like he's desperate.
"Okay, but I swear to God if it's something stupid, like you got your hand stuck in the sink, I'm gonna be so pissed." I say as I open my car door.
"y/n!"
"Stop your whining, I'm on my way." I hang up and change the gear to drive. Alaric better have a good excuse.
---
I get to Jo's apartment and open the door. I have no clue why it was unlocked. Do they not care about serial killers? My heels click with every stride I take towards the living room and soon enough I'm at the doorway.
"Alright, what was so impor-" I stop in my tracks when I see a devilish smirk from across the room. Along with the stupid expression, I get a little wave. My eyes shoot over to Jo, who's now standing there, giving me a look of pity.
"What the fu-"
"y/n, save it for a better time." Alaric says, putting his hand up to hush me.
A better time? The best time to swear would be right about now. When Kai Parker is standing there, smirking at me.
"This is why you called me here?! Jo can I please kill your fiancé?!" My eyes begin to darken and veins flash under my eyes. My vamp side comes out when I get pissed. Jo immediately comes over to calm me down.
"Okay, calm down. y/n, no one is killing anybody. We just called you over because we knew that if you were here, my asshole of a twin wouldn't try anything." Jo turns her head over her shoulder and sends Kai a glare.
"She's right." Kai shrugs, still not whipping that stupid grin off his face.
"You! I do not want to hear another word out of your mouth!" I demand. His hands go up in defense.
"Yes, ma'am. " he mutters under his breath.
"Why me though?!" I shout some more.
"Because he's obsessed with you." Alaric responds, rubbing his temples. Kai winks at me. I roll my eyes and try to walk out, but Jo pulls me back.
"y/n, please. He claims he's sick, so can you please come with me to my office so we can check him?" Jo's voice makes me calm down a little bit. I've always kind of seen her and Alaric as close friends, family even. So, if me being here ensures their safety, then so fucking be it.
---
Me, Jo, and Kai walk into her office and Jo leads us to one of the rooms.
"Motus!" Jo says as soon as the door closes. I see Kai fly across the room and hit the wall. She then does that one spell that makes your head feel like it's going to explode. It nice to be on the opposite end of that for once.
"Talked to Dad. Guess who's not sick? Him, Liv, and I'm feeling pretty good right now. Which leads me to believe I'm not gonna die anytime soon. So, what's your game?! Tell me!" She shouts.
"I don't have a game!" Kai shouts back. "God!" He shouts again before doing the same spell to her. I fall down next to Jo, grabbing her arm and trying to think of a way to help her. He stops when I make eye contact with him. I'm pretty sure my vampire face flashed because, he looked a little scared.
"As much as my suffering might bring you two pleasure, this is not the way to handle the situation." He stands up and starts towards us. I help Jo to her feet and dust off my dress.
"Is this all just a ploy for you to get more magic?" Jo's tone is an accusing one, and Kai's face twists into a serious one. A face I've never seen before.
"It's a ploy for us all to stay alive, actually. I'm sorry if that seems selfish!"
"I don't believe you! Because you are a liar. And you are the worst kind of liar because your lies sound so much like the truth, it's impossible for me to tell the difference. " That's something me and Jo agree on. No matter what faces I've seen before, Kai has never shown an honest one.
"You're right, I am a liar, alright? I'm the black sheep. You know, the defective twin that nobody wanted." His voice cracks and this gains my attention. Something about me is that, even without compulsion, I can tell when someone is being sincere. And for once, Kai is.
"It must feel real nice for you to stand her, judging me. Surrounded by all the things you got out of life while I spent eighteen years in isolation as the family reject." His eyes flash over to me before returning to Jo. I never thought I'd be saying this right now, but I kind of feel remorse for Kai.
"Let me tell you, every inch of me wants to kill you for that. Every part!" I slowly start to step in front of Jo, but she pulls me behind her instead.
"But I can't. Because the only way that I can survive is if you help me. And I'd like to live, frankly. Because I didn't get to do a whole lot of that before everyone decided that I wasn't worth it."
There it is again. The feeling of remorse for the man in front of me. His words made me realize that he wasn't born a monster. His coven made him that way. All because he was different. Malachai Parker is evil, but maybe there's a part of him that isn't. A part that can consume the evil and make a whole new person.
"I'll give it to you." Jo replied.
"But under one condition. You take it and get out of my life. I never want you anywhere near me again." She spits out.
"Fine."
"I'm not finished. If you break our promise, I'll kill you." My head snaps towards her.
"I'll take myself and our entire coven down with you. Because I don't want to live another minute, afraid of my own brother." I'd never have thought Jo would do that, but given everything Kai did, she has every right. But something inside me hopes, prays even, she never has to do that.
"You got it?"
"Got it." Kai looks over at me again. My eyes have softened, and I'm now starting to see a whole different person when I look at him. He brushes past us and walks out of the door.
---
After Jo gave Kai her magic, He was out the door in a heartbeat. Not before whispering one last thing in her ear. I quickly say my goodbyes and run after him.
"Kai, wait!" He turns around while standing in the middle of the parking lot. His hands are in his pockets, and his lips part at the sight of me lightly jogging. When I stop a few feet away from him, my words suddenly exit my mind. I have no clue what to say.
"You know, I always thought that the only thing that would make me happy was being coven leader." Kai starts. My eyebrows scrunch. I don't know where he intends to go with this.
"The day I met you in the prison world, I started feeling things. After I merged with Luke, I started feeling even more things. And then it dawned on me." He started taking steps towards me. My feet stay planted in the pavement below me and my stomach twist into knots. I don't know what I'm feeling but, I don't want it to stop.
"Sure, being gemini coven leader is amazing. The power, the title, it's all I've ever wanted. But, then I met you. You are what I've always wanted. Well, maybe not always, but from the day that I met you, you were all I wanted, no, needed." He stops in front of me. My breath gets caught in my throat.
"It's always been you, y/n. And I know you hate me. I know I'm just another monster that you and the gang had to face, but to me, you are my world." What is happening right now? Why are his words having this effect on me? Why do I want him closer? What the actual hell?
"When you're happy, I'm happy. When something hurts you, I want to hunt it down and destroy it. So, hate me. Help your friends plot my death. But just know..." His hand comes up to cup my cheek. I flinch, but don't take his hand away. For some weird reason, I like the way his skin feels against mine.
"I'll love you even if I'm in hell." Holy shit.
Kai Parker loves me? How? Why? What the fuck?! Wait...no there's no way...do I love him too? All I've ever felt for him was disgust, but maybe that was just a cover-up. Because what I'm feeling right now didn't just happen within the span of a few hours. I guess it's always been there, I just didn't see it before.
He leans down and kisses my forehead then turns around. He begins to walk away, but I don't want him to. I can't let him.
"Kai!" He stops and turns around again.
I don't think. My body is moving before my mind can process it. My legs are taking long strides, and soon, my arms are thrown around his shoulders, and I'm pulling his head down to mine. Our lips meet in the middle, and his hands quickly find my waist.
Passion. Sparks flying everywhere. That's what I feel when I'm kissing Kai Parker. His hands are moving up and down my back and mine are racking through his hair. We only pull away when we're about to run out of oxygen. We keep our heads rested on each other's and try to steady our breaths.
"I love you, Kai." I feel his arms tighten around my waist. He let's out a breath that sounded like he had been holding in.
"I love you to hell and back, y/n." He says before capturing my lips in another passionate kiss.

Family Name
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x reader (reader was in the Army and SWAT in Central City)
Summary: After ten years away, you return to Gotham. When you discover you know the true identity of the Joker, you join Batman's fight to save Gotham.
Warnings: angst, fluff, vague references to several DC Comics movies and timelines, murder (I can't get too specific about the murder warning without spoiling a plot point, but there is a friendly fire aspect and an assassination by a sniper)
Word Count: 6.6k+ words
A/N: This is my first time writing for Bruce Wayne (or at least posting it lol) so he may be OOC. I actually wrote most of this a year ago and just put the finishing touches on it, so I'm not sure if it's worth reading. Feel free to let me know what you think and send any Bruce Wayne requests you have so I can keep practicing for him! (If you want a specific characterization/actor let me know.)
The map that I used as a reference while writing is included at the end!

Tumblr media
Gotham is still cold, wet, and smelly. Some things never change, no matter how hard a certain vigilante tries. It’s been nearly ten years since you last set foot in Gotham, and things have changed. For better or worse? Who can tell?
It is raining as you walk out of the train station on the outer border of Gotham City. You shiver and pull your jacket closer to your body as the cold drizzle starkly contrasts the sunny Central City you came from. You hail a cab and tell the driver the address of your temporary apartment. The news station on the radio catches your attention, and the driver turns it up when you ask.
“After a fearsome showdown last night with the Joker, who is still missing from Arkham Asylum, the Batman has been spotted in downtown Gotham. The GCPD is on high alert following several tips of illegal business at the Iceberg Lounge,” they report.
“You new in town?” the driver asks.
“Not exactly. I haven’t been here in years though,” you explain.
“Then you’re new. This is a whole new Gotham. Just stay on the good side of the Batman and you’ll be fine, kid. This is you.”
After paying the driver and pulling your bags from the trunk, you stand on the sidewalk and look up at the place you now call home. The apartment building is old but in decent condition. Especially considering where it is. As the rain grows heavier, you move inside, climbing the stairs to the third floor and entering your apartment. The unit came furnished, so you only have some clothing to unpack. You start a list of the housewares and cleaning supplies you’ll need to buy. Walking around the living room, you notice the cable is hooked up and turn on the television. The local television channels are either out because of the rain or playing broadcasts of last night’s story. Any background noise will do, you suppose, as you leave a news channel on and begin unpacking and cleaning with what little bit of supplies you have.
After cleaning, you take a break and fall back onto the couch. The news is still on, and a face flashes across the scene, filling you with an odd sense of recognition. You lean forward to get a better view before exclaiming, “No way.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“When did you come back?” someone asks as you enter a small department store.
Looking up, you smile when you see a familiar face. “Barbara, hey! Last night. Been in Central City for too long.”
“Should have stayed there,” she says, laughing humorlessly. “Gotham is quite literally the most crime ridden city in the world now. It’s on the sign and everything. At least in Central you have a vigilante to protect you.”
“So does Gotham,” you point out. “He’s all over the news.”
“Yeah, we do. But for every criminal he puts in Arkham, ten more pop up.”
“Is your dad still a cop?”
“He’s the commissioner now. Actually…” She pulls a card out of her wallet and hands it to you. “Call him if you ever get in trouble. Be careful, okay? This isn’t the Gotham you remember.”
“I will. Thanks.”
You watch her leave before you begin shopping for the items on your list. After shopping, you are back in your apartment, cleaning and organizing. The Gotham News has more showtime than Hannah Montana in the 2000s. You find yourself invested in every story they present. Maybe this isn’t the Gotham you remember, but it is still Gotham and your home. If this city needs help, you'll offer everything you have.
“Citizens of Gotham, I am Police Commissioner James Gordon. Regarding the recent red alert at Arkham Asylum, the GCPD is urging residents to stay indoors, lock doors and windows, and most importantly, stay calm. We are not sure at this time how many, if any, patients escaped the asylum. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact crime stoppers at 800-”
You mute the television and look at your closet. An armour-plated uniform hangs front and centre, practically begging you to put it on and fight for your home. If Barbara doesn’t think Batman can handle all the criminals, maybe he would appreciate a little help.
“Don’t be stupid,” you chastise yourself, still looking at the closet. A few minutes later, you find yourself standing in front of the closet, thinking, “But you have the training.”
✯✯✯✯✯
Gotham looks much darker from a rooftop. You find a lookout spot a few blocks from Arkham, assuming anyone who escaped will have to pass you eventually.
“Oh, sweet Gotham! Riddle me this!” a high-pitched voice calls. A moment later, you see a man dressed in a green suit entering the alley below you.
“Now or never,” you whisper as you move toward the edge.
“The more of it there is, the less of all you see. What is it?” Riddler asks.
“Darkness,” you answer as you grab his shoulders.
You pull him backwards and knock him to the ground. His breath rushes out at the impact, and you bring your elbow down to his face, rendering him unconscious before he can catch his breath. The burner phone you bought earlier is programmed with James Gordon’s number in it.
“Gordon,” he answers.
“Riddler is unconscious in the alley at Tomlinson and Pygall,” you say lowly, hoping your voice is disguised enough, before hanging up.
Your attention is ripped away from the unconscious criminal as a silhouette of a bat floats across the sky.
“There’s hope yet, Gotham,” you say, smiling.
✯✯✯✯✯
It seems as though you are better at vigilantism than you expected. Everywhere you go, Batman is either already there or crosses your path. He has yet to see you, that much is sure. Lurking on a dark rooftop, you hear the telltale sign of his grappling hook and are a second too late in realizing he is moving onto the same roof as you.
“So, you’re the one who’s been stealing half my jobs?” he asks, walking toward you.
“You seem busy, thought you might like some help,” you respond, shrugging as you change your voice again.
“Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the thought. But you need to go home. This is dangerous and you could get hurt.”
You internally roll your eyes at his obvious arguments. “So could you.”
“Doesn’t matter if I get hurt.”
“Me neither. Any idea how many more of them are out there?”
Batman sighs and turns away from you to look over the city. “One or two,” he answers. “The city got lucky; Joker was in solitary and didn’t get out.”
You nod to yourself, moving toward the edge as you ask, “Why does it seem so easy to escape Arkham?”
“Poor security, not enough staff, an old building. The list is endless. Every time someone tries to strengthen it, a stronger foe comes along and breaks it again.”
“You’ve been doing this a long time.”
“Yet nothing’s changed.”
A sound behind you stops your answer. Turning toward the sound, you launch yourself onto the fire escape, ignoring Batman’s pleas to stop.
“Whoa,” you breathe, looking at the plants growing in the alley.
“You’re not the Bat,” Poison Ivy, whose news special aired last night, says. “You’d look much better in green than him.”
“Every plant I’ve ever owned has died. It’s one of my talents,” you taunt before throwing a canister from your belt.
“It won’t work, Buttercup. I’ve been tear gassed many times.”
“It’s not just tear gas,” you call as the plants begin to wither. “It’s concentrated sulfur dioxide. Deadly to plants and debilitating to people.”
She coughs several times before falling. An arm wraps around your waist, and you are hoisted through the air before landing on a rooftop.
“What was that?!” Batman demands.
“Sulfur dioxide.”
“That’s not what I mean, and you know it! You can’t just run around taunting criminals in a mask. What if that hadn’t worked and she had hurt you?”
“She didn’t. Besides-“
“No! You don’t get to justify this.” He keeps talking, and you feel like you have heard him before. You watch him closely as he continues berating you.
“This is not a game. Do you understand that?” Bingo. You smile at him, his chest heaving as he prepares to yell at you again.
“You’re still really protective,” you say lightly.
Batman turns toward you quickly, shaking his head before asking, “What?”
“In middle school you wouldn’t let me jump from the top of the swing set. Just funny that you’re still so protective when you risk your life every single night.”
“What are you talking about?”
You move toward the edge of the building and look over your shoulder at him.
“Goodnight, Bruce.”
Batman runs to the edge after you jump, but the alley is empty.
“Alfred,” he calls into his earpiece.
“You’ll figure it out, sir. Eventually.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Didn’t I tell you to stay home?” Batman asks as he walks up behind you.
“No. You told me I couldn’t run around taunting criminals in a mask. Which, by the way, I have some questions about. Can I walk and taunt criminals in a mask or is it the taunting that’s the problem?” you tease, looking up at him from your crouched position.
“Ha ha,” he deadpans. “I’ll give you a pass for the other night, but you need to go home. Right now. I’m not letting you get hurt for this.”
“Then don’t. Watch my back and I’ll watch yours.” You extend your hand for a handshake as you stand.
“No deal. Go home.”
“I’m not going home. So, stay with me and we can help each other or I’m going to go hunt him down on my own.”
He narrows his eyes at you before sighing and shaking your hand.
“Why are you smiling?” he asks as he releases your hand.
“We always were a pretty good team.”
You see the moment of recognition as his jaw drops under the cowl. He recovers quickly and points at you.
“Ground rules. Number one: you don’t engage. Two: stay hidden. Three: run if things go south.”
“Got it. Be boring,” you relay.
“This is not the time for jokes. Our lives are on the line. You don’t even have a good reason to be here.”
“Yeah I do.”
“Please enlighten me,” Batman prods impatiently.
You can tell he is mad you were here and are not listening to him. Too bad, Bats, you think. Gotham is your home, too, and you aren’t going to let it fall into the hands of some crazy clown or any other criminal.
“But before you tell me that, tell me what makes you qualified to be out here.”
“Look at me. Armoured uniform, tear gas, I’m a CCPD jacket short of official.”
“You’re CCPD?”
“I was. SWAT officer for five years after I got out of the Army. But I grew up here and I’m not letting this city go without a fight.”
“Why this fight? The one criminal we haven’t been able to stop for almost a decade?”
“Because...” You look up at him and smile. “I know who he is.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Thank you, Batman,” Commissioner Gordon says, shaking Batman’s hand. “We’ll get him in solitary.”
“Thanks, Jim,” Batman replies.
“Who’s your new helper? Everyone at the station is talking about the reaper that popped up and knows how to take them all down.”
“An old friend. Try to keep them in a while longer this time, will you?”
Commissioner Gordon turns around to see Batman is gone. “We’ll try,” he mumbles into the dark.
✯✯✯✯✯
The next night, Batman is gone. You don’t so much as see his shadow all night. There is only one criminal out; maybe they’re all on vacation, too. Killer Croc used Arkham’s sewer system to escape and pop up downtown. It was a long and tiresome fight, but you got him on the ground, and the GCPD took it from there. You finally reach the rooftop, preparing to cross them to go home, but don't make it far. Hitting the roof, you feel pain shoot through your ribs. After running your hand across the area, your skin is stained red. Great, you think.
“What were you thinking?!” Batman reprimands you as he appears and kneels beside you, pulling items from his utility belt.
“Mostly about what I was going to eat for dinner,” you joke, hissing when the antiseptic hits your skin.
“I’m sorry,” Batman says quietly. “Are you okay?”
“Peachy. At least it wasn’t my neck this time.”
“I told you not to use your belt to traverse the jungle gym,” Batman mumbles.
“So, you do remember me,” you say happily.
“You’re still an idiot with a death wish.”
“And you’re still Mother Hen Bruce.”
“This’ll help for now,” he says, helping you stand up and hooking his arm under your shoulders. “But I’m taking you back to the cave to get you checked out.”
“Didn’t do enough checking out in high school?” you slur before passing out.
“Alfred, we’re inbound,” he says into his microphone.
“Glad to see blood loss doesn’t dampen her sarcasm,” Alfred responds, “I’ll be ready.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“What did you mean you know who he is?” Bruce asks.
You blink several times to make sure you aren’t imagining him. He looks different than the last time you saw him. Without the mask, he’s more like the Bruce you grew up with, just older and barely holding Gotham together.
“You got hot,” you say without thinking.
“Thanks. Now tell me what you meant.”
“That I know who he is?” you clarify, standing up.
“Please stay down,” Alfred chides as he returns with tea.
“Thanks, Alfred. Good to see you again.” You smile as you accept the tea.
“You as well. Now take it easy. You should be battle ready in a day or two but that’s only if you rest properly.”
“No, you will not be battle ready. There is no more battle for you,” Bruce adds.
“You know I’m not going to listen and if you tell me no I’ll just do it myself.”
“We’ll have this conversation later. For now, tell me what you know about Joker.”
“Okay. He’s my uncle. Like twice removed, or-“
“There’s no way you’re related to that monster,” Bruce interjects.
“I’m not, really. We’re related by marriage. His aunt or somebody else married my cousin and I happened to meet him a few times. Fate, I guess.”
“Do you know his name?”
“No. Everyone in the family called him J. I thought his name started with a J but see now that it’s because he’s cuckoo for cocoa puffs.”
Bruce chuckles and shakes his head before turning serious again. “Are you really okay?”
“I’m great. Thanks for the assist.”
“I’m glad you’re back. Even if you are endangering yourself and ignoring everything I say.”
“Me too.”
“But Alfred’s right. You need some rest. We can finish this conversation later.”
“I can go home,” you say, standing up.
You stumble slightly, and Bruce catches you, holding you upright against him.
“Can you?” he asks, the ghost of a smile appearing on his face.
✯✯✯✯✯
“I think I found something,” you cheer when Bruce answers the phone.
“Where are you?”
“My apartment. It’s by Sacred Heart.”
The line goes silent, so you say Bruce’s name.
“You’re living by the Narrows? I thought you just went out there to fight.”
“It’s a fine building. I’m not in the Narrows.”
“No but you’re between Crime Alley and Arkham Island. You need to find a new place. Now.”
“I can’t afford anything else, Bruce. It was this or Slaughter Swamp.”
“Pack your essentials. I’ll be there in twenty.”
He hangs up, leaving you with a dozen questions. However, you know he means what he says, so you pack the stuff you can’t live without and are ready to go when he shows up twenty minutes later.
“You’re staying at Wayne Manor until we find you a new place.”
“That is not necessary.”
“It’s not just that this is close to the Narrows. We’re going after Joker, and I need to know you’re safe.”
“We’re not going after Joker,” you correct, “we’re finishing this.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Bruce, I can’t find a marriage certificate. They may not have been married; maybe they were just living together or something and didn’t want to explain it to a kid,” you admit, disappointed in your lack of findings.
“It’s okay. We will find something. And if we don’t, we can do it another way,” he assures.
✯✯✯✯✯
“This is the fourth Arkham breakout in as many weeks. When do you sleep?” you ask.
Alfred laughs faintly through the communications system.
“During Wayne Enterprises meetings, usually,” Bruce answers.
“I got one. Going dark,” you alert before jumping to meet Captain Boomerang.
After a short fight which results in your earpiece breaking, Captain Boomerang is unconscious, and you prepare to call Gordon.
“Ha ha ha ha,” an eerie voice cackles behind you.
You freeze in place before turning slowly and coming face-to-face with the Joker. He knocks your helmet off in one swift move, and your face is now visible.
“I remember you. My aunt married your second cousin. Horrible family you have. Or should I say had? Ha ha ha ha.”
“What do you want?”
“Is a family reunion not enough? No, I guess you’re right. I mean, marriages end so are we even related anymore?”
“We never were.”
“Oh, that’s where you’re wrong, Reaper! You know everyone calls you that, don’t ya? Personally, I think it’s a bit morbid but to each their own. I also heard from a little bird that you’re working with the big, bad bat. I had such great hopes for you, and you let me down.”
“What do you want?” you repeat slowly.
“To be family again,” he answers, smiling as he runs his fingers over your face and hair.
“What about Harley? Isn’t she your family? You were all she could talk about the other night.”
“Not anymore. She settled for some used piece on her Suicide Suckers. But me and you? Me and you could be the dream team. The family to end all families.”
“I don’t want to be part of your family.”
“When I found out Harley was a harlot, you know what I said? I said I’d peel off her skin and put it on a new body. But I can’t imagine those words coming from her. So, from now on…” he moves his hand to rest in front of your throat as his smile drops. “If Harley wouldn’t say it, you don’t say it.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Alfred, where is she?” Bruce asks.
“Toxic Acres. She’s still not responding,” Alfred responds, watching your tracker blink in the same place for the fifth consecutive minute.
“I’m going after her,” Bruce declares.
“Be careful, Master Bruce.” Bruce doesn’t respond, and Alfred mutes the private connection as he watches Bruce’s tracker move toward yours. “And don’t do anything you’ll regret.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“You’re making a mistake, J,” you hiss, the pressure of Joker’s hand on your throat making it hard, but not impossible, to breathe.
“No, they made a mistake,” he argues, moving his hand slightly as he steps back to look at you.
“Who?”
“Your family. All families. Everyone who treats people like outsiders.”
“You mean to tell me you’re doing this - all of this - because you never felt like you belonged in a family?”
“No!” Joker yells, leaning his weight against your throat as he smiles in your face. “Because no family has ever accepted me. I know I don’t belong, but everyone expects families to lie, right? Especially their own, but no, poor Joker always got told the truth! ‘You’re too strange,’ ‘You’re dangerous,’ ‘The kids are scared of you,’ yet no one ever offered to help me fit in.”
You raise your hands to his arm and claw at his skin, growing desperate for air as he rants. He looks over when your hits grow weaker and pulls his hand back. You fall to the ground, wheezing, as you try to take deep breaths.
Holding your neck, you look up at him and ask, “Then what do you want?”
He kneels in front of you and holds a knife out in his hand. “I want you to find a family and make a Joker-sized hole for me to fill.”
Shaking your head, you argue, “I’m not like you. I won’t do that, J.”
He cocks his head as his smile falls. “Harley wouldn’t say that, would she? And, besides, you’re more like me than you think, aren’t you? And what’s more interesting is that I think you know it. We’re the same, you and I, whether you like it or not.” The knife is raised to your throat as he threatens, “Do it, or I will make another hole in your family.”
“Another?” you ask.
The blade presses against your skin, and you close your eyes, unwilling to give him the theatrics and attention he so desperately seeks. A grappling hook sounds somewhere above you just before the blade is removed from your throat. Joker’s words echo in your head, and your eyes stay closed. Someone gently touches your neck and your face, but you don’t open your eyes, in case it’s him trying to trick you. He does that; you remember that too well.
An arm loops around your waist as a hand pulls your arms over broad shoulders. Only when you’re flying through the air and clinging to him are you ready to admit that Bruce is saving you. Opening your eyes, you see Wayne Tower in the distance. You tighten your arms around Bruce’s neck, and his hand squeezes your waist in response. He lands on the roof of Wayne Manor and rushes into the Batcave.
“What did he do to you?” Bruce asks as he sets you on a medical exam table. The same table you sat on when he saved you after the fight with Killer Croc.
Bruce tries to step back, but you cling to him. He’s the only family you have left, and Joker opened an old wound with his talk of carving a hole in a family to fill himself. That’s what he tried to do with your family, but when he still didn’t fit, he kept carving.
“Please don’t leave me,” you whisper into Bruce’s suit.
Bruce’s arms wrap around you, pulling you to the edge of the table as he cups your head to his shoulder.
“I’m right here,” he soothes. “Not going anywhere.”
He holds you for longer than you realize; time slows down in Bruce’s arms. When you pull back, he cups your face in his hands and looks at you intently.
“Want to talk about it?” he asks.
“Not right now,” you whisper.
“That’s okay,” he promises, nodding.
“The guest bedroom has been prepared and dinner is awaiting you, Master Bruce,” Alfred calls, briefly appearing in the doorway of the Batcave.
“Can we talk about it in the morning?” you ask.
“Of course. Whenever you’re ready. And you’re staying here tonight.”
You don’t argue, nodding as you stand and follow Bruce upstairs. He shows you to a guest room with clothes, toiletries, and more books than you can count. Telling you to use whatever you want; he leaves to change before meeting you for dinner.
When you enter the bathroom to change into the clothes you found in the closet, you see yourself in the mirror. Mostly, you see the red line running across your neck. Joker has hurt more than enough people, you decide, and you meant what you told Bruce; you plan to finish this.
✯✯✯✯✯
Bruce sits up suddenly. The sun is coming through the cracks in his curtains, but something feels off. He pulls a shirt over his head and walks down the hall, knocking on the door to the guest room where you’re staying. After a moment of no answer, he lets himself in. There’s a note on the bed in your handwriting.
I can’t let him do it again, especially not to you. Please stay home tonight and let me finish this fight. I should have done it ten years ago, but I was scared and ran. This is my chance to make everything right. Please forgive me.
Bruce takes a deep breath, suppressing his urge to punch a hole in the wall. Alfred wouldn’t appreciate another one. He rereads the note, then goes downstairs for breakfast like everything is fine.
“Where is our guest?” Alfred asks when Bruce enters the dining room. “Resting, I hope.”
“She’s gone. She left in the middle of the night to, quote, finish a fight like she should have done ten years ago.”
Alfred’s eyes widen as he stops moving trays onto the table. “You’re going after her, then?”
“No, Alfred, I am not.”
Bruce picks up the paper, as nonchalant as ever, and more convincing than when he turns on his Brucie Wayne charm.
“Why ever not, sir?”
“She asked me not to. And after her reaction to me last night, I’m inclined to listen to her.”
“You can’t be serious.”
Bruce drops the paper and looks at Alfred. “I am going to do exactly what she said.” When the paper covers his face again, he adds, “For a while.”
“Good man,” Alfred mutters, returning to serving breakfast.
✯✯✯✯✯
Realistically, you know that breaking into Arkham and executing a patient isn’t the best idea, but it would solve the problem. However, there’s the downside of life in prison for first-degree murder that you’d have to contend with. Bruce would surely visit you, but you don’t want to lose him before you get him back.
Perched on a rooftop, you watch Arkham and hope your trap is being laid as planned. The security lights blink on seconds before the alarm sounds. If Arkham Asylum is good for anything, it’s the consistency of frequent breakouts. No matter who breaks out tonight, you’re prepared. All you have to do is convince them to lay a trap for Joker, convincing him that you killed someone, and then you can pounce. Watching the alley below you, you furrow your brows as you lean forward.
“Catwoman?” you ask incredulously.
She looks up, tilting her head at the sight of you. “Reaper?” she asks, sounding far too excited.
“What are you doing here?”
“What do you think I’m doing?”
“Thieving, I presume?” She nods, and you lower yourself onto a fire escape before jumping to meet her. “There’s nothing here worth stealing.”
“Maybe.”
You clench your hands into fists and look down the alley.
“I think the better question is what are you doing here, Reaper? I’m not exactly in your demographic.”
Under your mask, you press your lips together and consider confiding in her. She cares about Batman as far as you can tell, so if you tell her Joker is planning to kill him (though, in reality, Bruce is his likely target), she may be willing to help.
“Batman dump you? He does that,” Catwoman hums.
“What? No, no, we’re not together like that.”
“Yet,” Catwoman interjects.
“Look, Joker is going to try to kill someone that I love. He’s already ruined my family forever.”
“You just moved here, who could you possibly love here? I thought I fell fast.”
“I grew up here, and-“
Your mind races as you remember that you haven’t been seen with Bruce since returning, but Joker has been out since then. Pulling the earpiece from your pocket, you hope someone is in the Batcave.
“Hello?” you ask into it, desperate and terrified for your family. “Take whatever you want,” you tell Catwoman when you don’t get an answer, “heck, take something for me too. But if you see Batman, tell him I’m looking for him?”
“Sure.” You move toward the end of the alley before Catwoman asks, “What should we call you?”
Smiling, you answer, “Reaper is growing on me.”
“Good luck, Reaper.”
You could have taken a grappling hook before you left Wayne Manor last night, but you were more concerned with Bruce’s safety than yours. Getting off of Arkham Island and into Gotham Heights will take too long on foot.
“Batman?” you ask, trying the comm again. “Anybody?”
“You called?”
You slide to a stop, nearly falling over, when you see Batman perched on a roof, looming like a gargoyle. He spreads his cape as he moves to the road before you. Looking down at you, though you can’t see his eyes, you know he’s trying to ensure you’re safe and unharmed.
“He’s going after Barbara. I thought he meant you, but he was out when I saw Barbara.”
“I’ll call Gordon. We need to get to Gotham Heights.”
“We’ll never make it in time. The alarm sounded twenty minutes ago.”
Bruce’s head turns toward you as he presses a button on his utility belt. The Batmobile turns a corner, coming to a stop beside you. Your eyes widen as the top opens, jumping in the passenger seat as you look at everything in awe.
“Barbara is stronger, and knows more than you think, but she can’t hold him off forever.”
You nod, prepared to do whatever you have to do. Even if it means making Bruce hate you.
“And I forgive you. Whatever you do, I understand,” Bruce says quietly. “Just- just remember that your actions affect more people than just you.”
✯✯✯✯✯
It’s a trap. The driveway beside Barbara’s place is decorated like the cookout where you met Joker.
“Go check on Babs, I’m right behind you,” you tell Batman.
He hesitates, noticing exactly where your focus is, before tapping your shoulder and running toward Barbara’s door. When Batman is out of sight, Joker’s laugh surrounds you.
“Did you do it?” Joker asks, stepping out of the shadows.
“No.”
“Whyever not?” he asks with a laugh.
“Because I’m not a killer. We are not the same.”
“Come over here,” he demands. You listen despite your body’s urging to leave. “And give me a real reason,” he adds when you stop across a picnic table from him.
“That is the real answer. I will not do to another family what you did to mine. I’m not a killer.”
“Now, now, now, that’s not true.”
His eyes are fixed on your mask, likely imagining your furrowed brows and scared eyes. “Is the mask necessary, Reaper? We know one another. It’s just family here.”
You swallow as you rip the mask off, levelling your gaze on Joker, determined not to show him how much he is affecting you.
“If you hurt her, I will end you.”
Joker flaps a dismissive hand. “She’s fine. I just needed a reason to celebrate, but you didn’t keep your end of the bargain.”
“I’m not-“
“A killer, yes, so you say. However, there’s a family out there that begs to differ.”
You lick your lips, unsure how he knows this. The record was redacted and eventually destroyed, so no one outside of your team at the time should know.
Joker’s laugh draws your attention back to him. “You are a killer. Just like me.”
Shaking your head, you flinch when Joker slaps his hands onto the table, leaning forward to get closer to you.
“Joseph,” Joker whispers, smiling widely at your surprised movement.
Someone screams in the distance, and you remember your promise: to protect your home, no matter the cost. Unholstering the gun you hadn’t carried in years, you hold it to Joker’s forehead.
“Do it,” he begs, leaning against the barrel. “Show them how alike we are.”
Your arm shakes as you fight to do it. With a finger on the trigger, Joker should be gone already, but you can’t do it.
Lowering the gun, you sigh, preparing for Joker’s next idea or a surprise dose of his laughing toxin. He watches you until he reaches for something. Before you can lunge forward to stop him, a shot rings out in the Gotham night. You hear it as Joker jerks to the side, slumping to the ground. Turning toward the right, you search the skyline for the shooter. You see a familiar salute and laugh to yourself as the silhouette disappears.
“Reaper!” Batman yells, rushing toward you. He slows as he sees you standing over Joker.
There’s a note, half blown apart. He took credit. You laugh again, oblivious to Batman’s concerned gaze on the back of your head. The laughter quickly turns to hiccups as you fight to remain composed. You walked out of Wayne Manor prepared to assassinate Joker. Now that you have essentially been an accomplice to his death and reminded of your worst mistake, you’re falling apart.
Bruce whispers your name, a hand on your arm as he turns you away. He raises a hand to your jaw as the first tear rolls down your cheek.
“I killed him,” you admit.
“No, you didn’t. That shot was too far away, no one will blame you.”
“I killed Joseph,” you repeat. “I didn’t see him, and there was so much fog and- I shouldn’t have taken the shot.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I left the Army and joined SWAT because I killed a civilian. I don’t know how Joker knew, but he was right. I am a killer.”
“Hey, hey.” When you don’t respond, Batman summons the Batmobile, whispering to Gordon on the phone as he helps you into the passenger seat.
Once you’re in Wayne Manor, dressed in a pair of sweatpants and one of Bruce’s shirts, he pulls you into his arms.
“You’re not like Joker, and you’re not a killer. Friendly fire is a terrible thing, but it’s not your fault. You can’t keep blaming yourself for that. Saving people has its costs, and if I could take the guilt from you, I would.”
“I don’t even know how it happened,” you confess, “I dream about it all the time, but I don’t remember actually pulling the trigger.”
“You may never know. But either way, you can forgive yourself and move on.”
Wiping under your eyes, you lean against Bruce’s chest as you ask, “What did Gordon say? How’s Babs?””
“Their ballistics team is examining the velocity and angle to find where the shot came from. Barbara didn’t even know anything was happening, she’s fine.”
“The roof of Verdant in The Narrows,” you whisper, laying an open hand over Bruce’s heart.
“That’s too far for a shot like that.”
“Not for Army snipers.”
“Friend of yours?”
“Used to be,” you shrug before adding, “Lawton started killing for money, and I couldn’t support that.”
“Wait,” Bruce interjects, pushing you back slightly, ducking to look into your eyes. “You’re telling me that Deadshot just killed Joker? For free?”
“He doesn’t do anything for free,” you answer, smiling. “But I didn’t pay him if that’s what you think. Besides, he left a calling card of sorts.”
“Not at all. Batman will call Gordon tomorrow and let him know.”
“What’s Batman doing tonight?”
“He’s on vacation,” Bruce sighs, leaning his forehead against yours. “And Bruce Wayne is catching up with an old friend.”
Smiling, you turn sideways to press your chest against Bruce, laying your arms over his shoulders.
“I think that sounds like a great night.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“I found something,” Bruce says, removing his cowl as you enter the Batcave.
“A life?” you joke.
“Ha. No, I had a friend of mine go searching for that destroyed Army record.”
“Why?” you ask quietly, wringing your fingers together.
“Because you didn’t kill Joseph. Your gun never went off, and the shot came from a different direction with a much higher velocity. This looked like sniper.”
“You think it was Lawton?”
“Wouldn’t be surprising.” Bruce tilts your head toward him and looks you in the eye to add, “But the important thing is that you have no reason to keep carrying that burden.”
“Thank you. I don’t know what to say.”
“Come on patrol with me.”
“I thought you didn’t want me to get hurt.”
“You won’t. Not with me around.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Hey, Bats.”
“Catwoman,” Batman answers.
“Reaper was looking for you a few nights ago.”
“Yeah, we ran into each other. Thanks, though.”
“She said you weren’t together like we were, but I find that very hard to believe.”
“Give them back,” you say, surprising both Catwoman and Batman.
“Give what back?” she parrots.
You hold your hand out. “The pearl necklace and earrings you stole. They’re not worth anything to the woman, but they’re sentimental.”
Catwoman huffs, pulling a small bag from her pouch and tossing it to you. “I chose them for you anyway.”
“What?”
“You said to steal something for you too.”
“I thought my best friend was about to get murdered, I didn’t mean it!”
“And did you mean what you said about not being with Bats here?” She places a hand on her hip, and you take the opportunity to look at Batman before answering.
“He’s just not my type,” you answer, shrugging one shoulder.
You see his jaw twitch before he nods his farewell to Catwoman.
“I didn’t mean it,” you whisper as you walk past him. “And we’ve got a crocodile to catch.”
Batman sighs. “Welcome to Gotham.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Whose are they?” Bruce asks as you examine the pearl jewellery.
“Mine,” you answer, not looking at him. “What are the chances she’d use my permission to thieve to rob me?”
“Not bad with Sel- Catwoman.”
“Selina Kyle, yeah, I know.”
“Sentimental, huh?”
You turn toward Bruce, passing him the necklace.
“I told your mom that I liked her pearls, like five months before she was killed, and the next day she surprised me. She picked me up from school and told me we were going shopping. They’re the cheapest ones the store had, but I’ve loved them ever since because they came from someone I loved and… I guess they made me feel a bit more like her, and she was amazing.”
When you look back at Bruce, he’s still holding the necklace, but his gaze is on you. He sets the necklace down, stepping toward you. Gripping your waist, he pulls you against him with a wide smile.
“You’re amazing too.”
“Not like her.”
“There’s no one quite like her. But she loved you too, more than you know. Actually, she thought we were going to get married,” Bruce adds, nudging his nose against yours.
“I did too,” you whisper.
Bruce kisses you quickly, pulling back to gauge your reaction.
“Based on the newspapers, I thought you’d be better than that,” you tease.
Bruce clicks his tongue before pulling you into another kiss. While he takes your breath, he fills you with love and hope. His hands keep you as close as possible, one sliding up to hold your head as he deepens the kiss, whispering something against your lips.
“Wait,” you mumble, moving your hands from his jaw to his chest. “What did you say?”
Bruce smirks, the charm that no one gets to see any more on display. “That I love you.”
Your eyes widen, and you grip his shoulders as you rise to kiss him, informing him that you feel the same. “I love you more,” you say against his lips, melting into him as you become one.
“My mom would want you to have her pearls,” Bruce whispers, rubbing his thumb in large sweeping motions against your upper hip. “And she’d want us to see where this goes.”
“Your mom was very smart,” you muse, putty in Bruce’s hands as he moves to the couch, tugging you into his lap.
“Did you love my mom enough to take her last name eventually?”
“This is more important – I love you enough.”
“Finally!” Alfred exclaims as he walks in with a tray of tea and biscuits. “It is about time you officially join the family and take the name.”

Modern meet cute with a little help from Lambert's runaway pet.
The ten seconds Lambert spent staring dumbly at the now broken leash in his hand was all the time his black labrador needed to disappear from view. The man cursed before sprinting in the same direction, muttering curses in-between yelling his pets name alongside grumbled apologies to fellow pedestrians too slow to get out of his way - this was the absolute last time he bought cheap pet supplies online!
As luck would have it, Lambert didn't have to go very far before discovering his dumbass dog had made a friend; the man he'd apparently accosted giving pets with one hand whilst the other had a firm grip on the harness in an attempt to both keep the dog in one place and dissuade the attempted jumps at the cat sat on his shoulder.
"Morhen!" Lambert yelled before whistling twice and catching the attention of all three, the dog looking happy, the cat indifferent, the man indignant.
"Sorry, did - did you just call me a moron?" They spat
"Was calling my dog." Lambert clarified, "Says it right there on his collar."
The other man blinked at him, "Oh, I was wondering about the pronunciation. And that must make you-"
"Lambert. Yeah. Also on the collar." He shrugged, as Morhen trotted up to him, leaning against his leg as if he hadn't just made his owner sprint from one end of the park to the other, "I may have affectionately called him Moron a few too many times during the puppy stage and it ended up being the only thing he'd answer to but my brother insisted it was borderline animal cruelty to actually name him that and my dad was adamant he wasn't walking around in public yelling 'Moron!' So...Morhen. And for the record they were leashed but-" he held out the leash so they could see where the clip to attach it to the harness had broken clean off.
The man gave an inelegant snort in response, "Well seeing as we got your names, I'm Aiden and this-" he tilted his torso to give Lambert a better view of the tabby in a yellow harness and leash of its own, "Is Marv. You're welcome to pet him if you like."
Now it was Lambert's turn to snort, "Oh my god, that's such an old man name for a cat!" He moved closer, holding his hand out for inspection.
"Well he is an old man." Aiden cooed, giving Marv a tickle under the chin who butted his head against Aiden's in response before sniffing curiously at Lambert's fingers, "And I didn't name him, he's a rescue. It's a running joke we picked each other because we're a matching set."
Lambert gave them both a quick once over to try and find some clue as to what Aiden meant. It was then he realised the cat now rubbing its head against his palm was missing it's right eye and Aiden in contrast, appeared to have lost the sight in his left if the cloudiness was any indication. The remaining eye of both was also green, although Aiden's was of a darker shade.
Lambert felt like he should says something witty or slightly profound in response. Instead, what left his mouth was "Thought one of the things about cats was that you didn't have to walk them?"
Aiden shrugged, "We like the park. My new building allows pets, but I don't have a balcony or anything and he's partially deaf as well as half blind. Not great odds against city traffic, but he goes slightly stir crazy if he's cooped up inside for too long."
Lambert nodded in understanding as Marv's purrs grew in volume. As much of a pain in the ass Morhen could be, the thought of anything happening to him made Lambert want to pick him up and shelter him under his jacket like he had when they were still small enough to be held in one hand. The dog in question gave a sudden bark.
"Aaaaw, were we ignoring you, gorgeous boy?" Aiden clucked as he leaned down slightly to rub Morhen's head.
"I should get him back home before the entire harness decides to fall apart." Lambert said, hastily passing the leash through the harness loop and tying it in a knot, giving a couple of tugs to check it would hold, "Hopefully you won't experience any more crazy, runaway dogs."
"I don't know. I think I like how the last one turned out." Aiden replied with a smile, "Would it be ok if I call or text you sometime?"
Lambert blinked. He wasn't inexperienced by any means but usually he was the one asking cute guys for their number, not the other way around.
"Uh, sure. Let me just-"
"I already memorised your number off Morhen's tag earlier." Aiden admitted, "Nothing creepy, just incase I ended up having to call whoever to come get their dog."
"Text me and I'll save yours."
"Will do." Aiden gave a wave as Morhen used Lambert's distraction to start pulling him down the path, eager to get moving again, "See you around, Lambert."
When Lambert's phone alerted him later that evening, he was greeted by an unknown number sending him a pic of a tabby dozing in the shade of a tree and a link to a reputable website selling various pet harnesses.

Derek brushes their noses together when he pulls away and cleans Isaac with broad, long strokes of his tongue before pulling the boy close by the softness of his smooth, little ass. “Your mama needs to be stretched, we need to make room for the new baby to come. Could you help?”
Monday I can Fall Apart but by Friday I’m in Love by tryslora
(1/1 I 5,609 I Mature I Sterek)
It's just past five in the morning and Stiles is barely awake, wearing only sleep pants that hang low below his pregnant belly, and he can't get the damned brand new jar of decaf coffee open. But he has a neighbor, and he's too tired to think that waking someone else up at this hour might not be the best (or politest) of ideas.
I Think You're Something I Can't Have by sweetbutterbliss
(1/1 I 7,884 I Explicit I Sterek)
Derek never thought he'd ever get the opportunity to be a dad, but now Stiles is telling him that he's pregnant. He wants the best for Stiles, and surely that doesn't involve having a baby at 22. With Derek, of all people.
Add Another to Our Brood by modestfuckup
(1/1 I 7,950 I General I Sterek)
“Sorry, I got a little sick and big man here threw a tantrum when I wouldn’t let him throw up too,” Derek thinks that that is strange. Stiles hadn’t said anything about feeling sick earlier, and even if he did Stiles only ever gets sick when he’s pregnant…
Oh.
Or the one where Stiles and Derek are in an airport with their pups, Stiles might be pregnant again, and Derek might be freaking out about it.

Derek and Stiles grow close, but try to deny the feelings growing for one another because as soon as the pregnancy is over Stiles will have to give the baby over to Derek and Braeden, and walk out of their lives. However, the closer he gets to his due date, the harder it is to come to terms that he'll have to let go of the man he's come to love.

I wanted to give you a not horny idea.
Long-term partners! Part of the 7! Jordan li where all you want to do is marry them, and keep getting asked by all your friends when you’ll tie the knot. People you introduced are getting married, and at the wedding, you keep getting asked questions, so that night, you both go home and fight.
And your like “I just wanna be with you forever” “it’s embarrassing seeing our friends who have dated half the time as us get married and we’re still stuck dating”
Jordan is scared of that kind of commitment not because they don’t want you (they have had a ring for years) but it’s stuck in their mind even after so long that they don’t deserve you because they aren’t ‘normal’.
So Jordan says some hurtful stuff to end the fight “you only wanna marry me so you can have my dads money…” “you just want a big ring and someone with my prestige.”
So you end up taking a few items of clothes and spending the night at a hotel not wanting to see them anymore tonight.
And Jordan just spends the night crying and wishing they could be what you want. They don’t sleep well for the next few nights because you don’t come back. Until a week later you are seriously out of clean underwear. So you bring your bag of laundry to do and take more clothes. You figure Jordan would be out and not at the apartment but they are in bed holding a photo of a previous anniversary and a box
Wait, is that a ring box? Yes, you're so shocked you drop the bag, and then Jordan notices you and hops up, trying to look presentable while covered in what seems to be a stained tank top and boxers.
You now notice the take out containers strewn on the bed seemingly the only thing they’ve eaten in the week you’ve been gone.
They push back their greasy hair and dry their eyes with a cleaner part of their shirt about to grovel—.
When you embrace them, worried for their mental state. You hate being away from them and you didn’t think about the fact you haven’t spent more than a few hours without each other since sophomore year
They try to speak and you shush them “it’s fine we’ll talk about last week later let’s just get you cleaned up now”
The end
Sorry if my grammar sucks I have dyslexia and spell check hates me
oh i shall weep long and hard over this.
jordan is their own worst enemy forreal. they spend that week sobbing and thinking the worst, thinking you're done with them because why wouldn't you be, you took a risk, being with them, and they aren't the easy choice. marriage would just be another risk, a big one. who wants to take that plunge? especially with them?
when you come back they're ready to fall to their knees and beg you to just give them time - please dont give up on them - when your arms wrap around them they nearly melt into the embrace. they crush you to them, not bothering to hold back, knowing you're sturdy enough to take it - they just need to hold you so hard it hurts. wants your warmth to seep into their bones and send the chill away.
"lets get you cleaned up, yeah? we can talk again tomorrow. i just want you to be okay right now."
they kinda trail after you like a lost puppy, watching as you turn the shower on and test the temperature until its warm. when you turn around again you almost jump, they're standing so close. they wrap you in their arms again, and you relax, hugging them back.
"you'll get in with me?" they ask quietly. its not sexually suggestive - its a cracked open kind of vulnerability. showering together is an intimate thing, and they don't want to be apart from you again. not for a second. so you nod against their shoulder. feel them shudder in relief and realize maybe there's some groveling you need to do to, that such a question could ever raise doubt.
you let jordan undress you after themselves, step in and take their hand when they tug you into the warm spray with them. you meet easily in the middle under the umbrella of waterfall. their hands skate reverently up your waist, your sides, climbing until they're cupping your face.
jordan li is a beautiful being. something about them with dripping wet hair, rivulets of it streaming from their long lashes, is captivating. you'd never give this up. not ever.
"i love you." they say, voice wavering. "so fucking much."
you reach a hand up to cup over one of theirs holding your face, let them see the love shining in your eyes. "i know. and I'm not going anywhere, not tonight. not any day after, yeah?"
their eyes shudder closed. they lean their forehead against yours and you feel their fingers glide down your spine like they're trying to commit every dip and curve of you to memory, "yeah." they breathe, and their nose skims yours, "okay."

"Have you ever been in love?" Robin blurted out.
Suddenly, Steve felt like he was on the bathroom floor at Starcourt again instead of the floor of Eddie's spacious new bedroom. Robin and Steve had been nervous about getting high, so they went to Eddie, whom they trusted completely. Of course, when they told him that they thought he would wind up hugging the air of the both of them. Now, here they were with their feet on the wall as they stared at their now painted black toenails.
"Who are you talking to there, Buckley?" Eddie asked, leaning over Steve to look at her.
"You, of course, Sir Tedward," Robin said.
"Why, Lady Bobin, do you believe yourself to be a high enough level to unlock that information?" Eddie asked.
"Oh, yes. I am very high," she giggled.
"Very well," Eddie said in amusement and then sighed. "So, there was this chick named Paige - "
"A chick?!" Robin squawked.
"I'm sorry, a woman - ,"
"No, that's not what I meant. I thought you told us you were into dudes," she said.
"No, Birdie," Eddie said, rolling his eyes. "I said I was ALSO into dudes."
"Oooh," Robin said.
"Clean out your ears, Robin," Eddie scoffed.
"Ass!" Robin pouted.
"You're bisexual too?" Steve asked with grinned. "Me too, man!"
"I know, darling, you've already told me," Eddie said in amusement. "Like, right after we started smoking and then again when we painted our nails."
"Oh, right," Steve blushed and laid his head back down on Eddie's shoulder.
"So, anyway, I wasn't really in love with her, but I was starting to fall for her pretty fast. She was everything that I thought that I wanted, and she's the closet that I've ever been until. . . ," Eddie said and cleared his throat. "She made it seem like she was going to make all my dreams as a musician come true. In order to do that, I needed money, so I schemed with my no good father and gave the money to her. I was stupid. Of course, she took the money and ran. I ended up being as stupid as my dad. Really lived up to the Munson name."
"She used you, Eddie. She's the dumb one. She used your giant, hopeful heart, and she used it. She's the stupid one," Steve said and rolled into his chest. "I only want one thing from you, Eddie. I want the heart that she was stupid enough to turn away from. Please? I'll give you mine if you give me yours. Swapsies?"
"Yeah, big boy, you can have my heart," Eddie said. "Let's have this conversation when we're a little less high though."
Steve snuggled into Eddie's chest and closed his eyes, the both of them drifting off to sleep to the sound of Robin's snores. The next morning, Steve woke up and stretched, his movements causing him to wake up Eddie.
"Good morning," Steve grinned.
"Morning, big boy," Eddie smiled sleepily.
"I still want it," Steve said, rubbing the spot on his chest and kissed it. "I still want you."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Swapsies?"
"Swapsies."
They giggled as they kissed, laughing into each other's mouths. Eddie cupped his face and deepened the kiss, rolling on top of Steve. He surged forward, licking his tongue into Eddie's mouth, and gripped the edge of his shirt. A loud groaning sound caused them to break apart, and they looked up to find Robin leaning over the edge of the bed. Sometime during the night she must have crawled up there.
"I'm gonna barf," Robin said.
"Bad reaction to the weed, babe?" Steve asked.
"No, more like a bad reaction to you dingues," Robin said, mock scowling. "You guys use too much tongue. You look like dogs lapping water out of the toilet bowl. Sound like them, too."
"She's just a peach in the morning, isn't she?" Eddie asked.
"Yeah, she is not a morning person," Steve said.
"Hey, at least I kissed a girl before you kissed a guy," Robin taunted.
"Yeah, that's not true," Steve scoffed, and Eddie rolled off of him.
"Baby. . .I'm not the first guy you kissed?" Eddie pouted.
"Oh God, please don't tell me that it was Tommy H," Robin screwed up her face.
"No, and I'm not going to tell you. I don't know how open he is about his sexuality," Steve said.
"Shit. I didn't think about that," she mumbled.
"I can not believe that I am not the first guy that you kissed," Eddie said, crossing his arms.
"Am I the first guy that you kissed?" Steve asked.
"Well, no," Eddie said, rolling his eyes, pouting. "But still. . . I wanted to be your first guy kiss."
"Fine. You are more than welcome to pretend, love," Steve rolled his eyes.
"My tongue is the first male tongue that has been inside of Steve Harrington!" Eddie exclaimed, jumping up. "I do so declare."
"Oh my God! It was just his mouth," Robin groaned.
"It still counts, Buckley," Eddie replied.
He grinned at the empty spot next to Robin and threw himself onto the bed, causing Robin to bounce.
"You ass!" Robin shrieked.
She picked up the teddy bear that was on his bed.
"Not Sir Fluffington! That was a gift from my mother!" Eddie shrieked.
"Then I shall protect them with my life," Robin said seriously, clutching him to her chest.
"That's all I ask," Eddie said and hugged her.
Steve grinned and plopped down on the other side of Robin.
"So, you kissed a girl and didn't tell me?" Steve asked.
"Wait, she's never done that before?" Eddie asked with wide eyes. "Okay, Buckley, you need to tell us everything!"
"Okay, Vickie invited me over to her place the other day. She told me that she was having a few friends over and when I got there no one else was there. Apparently, everyone else had called and bailed, except that wasn't really the truth. When we finished the movie, Vickie told me that she liked me and that she wanted to get me over here somehow with actually asking me. Oh my God, she can ramble more than me! She just kept apologizing, and that's when I kissed her. The next thing I know, we're making out, and then she's asking me to be her girlfriend. I said yes!" Robin exclaimed, and she squealed, hugging Sir Fluffington tightly.
"Yeah, get it, Buckley," Eddie grinned, and then he frowned. "Steven, we just kissed. Why haven't you asked me to be your boyfriend?"
"Eddie, do you want to be my boyfriend?" Steve asked, smiling softly.
"Hmm, I don't know. It's a lot to think about. It's a lot of responsibility, you know, to be Steve Harrington's boyfriend. I mean, how much does the hair maintenance alone cost?" Eddie asked dramatically and Robin snorted.
"Oh, right, like you're so low maintenance yourself, mister," Steve said and then paused, widening his eyes as he pouted. "You know, despite all the trouble you give me, I think that you're worth it. If you asked me to be your boyfriend, I wouldn't even hesitate to say yes."
"Oh, damn it, you got me," Eddie cackled, shaking his head from side to side. "Fine, I'll be your boyfriend."
"Dinguses the both of you," Robin said fondly and pulled them both down to her side before they could kiss. "Promise me something?"
"Anything for you, Rob," Steve replied.
"Promise me that if something goes wrong, that we'll always be friends," Robin said. "That if you guys do break up that you can go back to being friends and that we all still hang out. I mean, I doubt you will break up because Steve has a notebook filled with pages of Mr. Steve Munson doodled all over."
"Robin!" Steve exclaimed, blushing.
"Okay, we're coming back to that notebook, but Robin, we're bonded for life. There is nothing that can tear us apart," Eddie said.
"I love you guys. You are my emotional support bisexuals, I can't go anywhere without you two," Robin sighed in relief. "Like a couple of bookends."
"And you are our favorite emotional support lesbian," Eddie said.
"I better be your only emotional support lesbian, Munson!" Robin exclaimed.
"Wellll. . .," Eddie said thoughtfully.
"Names! I want names!"
Steve watched them fondly as they squabbled. He always swore that in a past life, they had been siblings. The next thing he knew, Robin was making Eddie make a vow of friendship, and then Eddie was pulling out a knife. Steve acted quickly.
"No blood oaths!"
"Aww, Steve!"
"I said no!"
"Just a little blood oath?"
"We've talked about this!"
Meanwhile, Wayne had just come home from work and went to let Eddie know when he heard the last part of their conversation.
"I don't even want to know," Wayne sighed, shook his head fondly, and went to his bedroom on the other side of the house.
